Carwyn had an Arisen whose love towards him was very passionate but very misguided. Heartbroken over their own lost love, they created a Pawn in the latter's image with a different name forgotten by now. There was always the initial honeymoon phase, but as Bitterblack Isle began to change the both of them, that illusion fell apart. The Arisen demanded more from Carwyn as he began to look less and less like their old flame; as a Pawn he complied. One day as they were exploring the labyrinth, the pair were caught in a confrontation with necrophages. As the Arisen cried for help, he let them be torn apart by the necrophages, telling himself that he was in fact helping them, that it was the best way to free them from all of the hell the both of them were trapped in. But deep down he just wanted out from everything. He no longer remembers the name his Arisen gave him, but he's glad he doesn't, and feels a warmth where his heart should be whenever Seresa happily calls him Carwyn instead.

Someone certainly was causing a ruckus in this place, the majority of people were fleeing without a second thought, shin stood in the corner giving only a glance to the crowd shuffling to escape. He’d just get trampled now beneath the foot traffic if he tried to escape. “Well, I guess If terror and pandemonium that’s killing the party, then It’s time to ditch prom.”

“Do you happen to know a way out that’s not crowded with them.” he motions to the crowd, normally he would have had time to plan an escape just in case but he wasn’t as planned ahead as he normally was. As long as he can make it out with minimal injury he’ll be fine to come back searching for that client at a later date.

A/N: Set during the final episode of season 1, when the merchant takes an ill & hallucinating Geralt home to his farm.

Waking up face down in the dirt didn’t surprise him. The fact that said dirt was in a rose garden, did. Not just any rose garden, either. As he got to his feet, his stiff bones working hard to push him up, he caught the sweet aroma of the familiar flower. 

Boscobel roses.

His mother had planted them in her garden. The house and the land around it constantly smelled like elderberries and almonds. He’d often wondered if that was what had brought the ones who’d taken him to their house. If the scent of the roses had tempted them closer and closer until what happened, happened.

He stood and rolled his shoulders back, taking a moment to look around. It didn’t startle him like he thought it should have to realise that he was in the exact garden his mother had planted the boscobels in. The exact garden he’d spent his childhood playing in. The exact garden he’d left with his mother before they had taken him from everything he’d ever known.

“Geralt? Geralt, wake up! Hear me!”

He drew in a quick breath and shut his eyes at the voice which seemed to echo around the garden. He recognised it, but...

There. He could hear gentle footsteps. Opening his eyes, he saw a woman approaching him. Not the owner of the voice, no. Someone else entirely. He knew this woman.

“Mother.”

“What do I do, Yurga? He’s burning up!”

Visenna, the woman, his mother, smiled. She picked a rose, coral-pink and as sweet as anything, and held it out towards him when she stopped. “Geralt. My child.”

Geralt didn’t take the rose. It felt...hazy. This moment had never happened before. He was imagining it all. But still...still. There was a desire in his heart to speak to her that seemed to be winning over everything he had to lose.

“Lie beside him and see if he reacts. I’ve heard old tales, stories of a person succumbed by illness...if someone they loves lies beside them, they eventually come around.”

“This isn’t just an illness, Yurga. He was bitten by a necrophage. He needs to be healed by something stronger than love!”

A second voice added to the echo, both distorting the other as they circled the rose garden. Geralt shook his head, pushing the words from his conscious mind for a moment as he returned his attention to Visenna.

“You left me,” he said.

Tears stained your face, mixing with the mud and blood. You hovered over Geralt on the back of the merchant’s wagon, one hand on his sweat-soaked forehead and the other instinctively placed over the left of his chest. 

You didn’t know this area. You didn’t know if there was a mage or a healer nearby who could help, and the merchant didn’t seem to know either. You were trundling far too slowly along a bumpy path, heading towards unfamiliarity, and you could feel the panic settling in your chest. 

You turned, removing the hand from his forehead to grab the pack you and Geralt carried on your journeys. He’d started mumbling incoherently now, his brows moving about as he shook his head from side to side. You rummaged through the pack, hoping above hope that you’d somehow missed a vial of mutagen or a white willow bark earlier in your many prior searches. Coming up empty, you slammed the pack down on the wagon and put your free hand to your own forehead, your breathing coming in quick gasps. You glanced up at the merchant, intent on the road ahead, and looked back at Geralt, his mumbling becoming more pronounced.

You bit your tongue and blinked, holding back the tears you could feel brimming. There was nothing on this wagon or on the current road that would help, so, with little to no hesitation, you moved to lie beside him, resting your head against his chest and grasping both his hands in yours. You squeezed your eyes shut and focused on the sluggish beat of his heart. 

“Better...than...”

You focused on his words.

“Didn’t let her go....’Senna...”

You gripped his hands tighter, praying to anyone who happened to hear, supernatural or not, to give him a chance.

“You let me go...I kept her...”

You knew he was a witcher, and you knew that this was what a witcher had to expect when they went out hunting, but you didn’t have to accept such unfairness.

“I’m better...than you...I kept her...”

A tear leaked from under your eye as the vibrations of his words sounded in your ear.

“I kept Y/N...I’m better...than you...”

Theme of the month - May

How would the world of witchers look like without their adversaries? This May let’s open our dusted, or maybe frequently used, bestiaries to learn more about monsters.

Specters, vampires, dragonids, and necrophage - and many, many more monsters living out in the world. Some of them are predators wishing only to hunt and consume, while other post-conjunction creatures may be more... sophisticated. They may be protagonists on their own or trophies of skillful monster hunters. Whatever is their story we want to see all kinds of monster ocs or fanwork featuring monster in general, in any form possible, screenshots, drawings, fanfiction, and moodboards.

8. are there certain traits they value? honour, integrity? or do they feel such things aren’t necessary to live true to oneself?

she values empathy, in herself and the people around her. things like honour and integrity are a slippery slope, and she knows that sometimes you can’t hold true to them when the time comes. but empathy? kindness? understanding? without them you deserve to be called a monster.

15. do they enjoy the company of others or prefer to keep to themselves?

companionship has always been important to rhian, although she can survive without it. she spent a lot of her youth alone with only her parents for company, and she managed just fine, and she still tends to spend a lot of time alone on the road to her clients. but she prefers having company, prefers having someone to laugh with and lean against and talk to when things become hard. prefers the warmth of having someone close.

19. if inclined and capable, how does your oc fight? do they favour offence or defence, and what is their weapon(s) of choice?

she fights almost exclusively with her shortsword, although she’s got skill with various other blades and is an ok shot with a bow and arrow too. it’s obvious she’s had extensive training with a sword, with her footwork and form. it almost resembles fencing, in a way. she prefers defensive techniques and is best at them, since she teaches primarily defence to her clients, although when push comes to shove she can go on the offence to save herself or her friends. 

20. has your oc ever encountered a monster? if so, what kind and how did the encounter turn out?

i imagine she’s probably run into a few in her day, although she knows she’s no match for them and every time has run for her life until it either gave up or found something else to chase. the only thing she’s fought properly were some necrophages while she was searching for dmitri’s body, and she barely came out with her life before geralt saved her.

YES ABSOLUTELY MY EDGELORD NECROPHAGE MAGIC ARCHER PAWN/ARISEN FROM DRAGON'S DOGMA IS LEGIT JUST AN EXPY OF MAD TONGUE ALBERICH FROM ELDEN RING LOL :') idk i really loved how weird alberich was but also he was surprisingly polite despite being mad and he had top tier edgelord fashion so <333 there's so much ???????? energy about him and eventually i was like i wanna make an oc who looks just like him; donut steel <3

black and red clothes, red gem jewelry, white hair, pink eyes, thigh high boots, etc. tis all there B) except carrion shows a lot more skin than alberich LOL. that said carrion's hair is shorter bc i already have a bunch of long haired ocs and over time the hair just went over his right eye instead of being middle parted. i have a tendency to inevitably draw hair bangs going to the face's right bc it's easier for me - so many of my ocs coincidentally have bangs on the right aughh. in my personal timeline of the series his hair's grown a bit by the events of dd2

in the first game he used a magic bow, staff, and dagger instead of alberich's scythe and staff, but likes using ice magic similarly. unfortunately no edgy blood magic in ddda but dd2 ma's new nuke ability is a similarly self-injuring one so i'll take it. idk if that'll stick though because there are new classes yet to be revealed in dd2 and i might swap around if it suits him

personality wise he changed over time and went from being an aloof asshole like alberich to a grumpy asshole by the time of dd2 (has seen The Horrors) :^D also instead of having red glinstone coming out of his eyes he's got like,, stone scales around his right eye due to Reasons. i also kept the weird tongue motif from alberich on carrion but instead of holding something like ensha's taunter's tongue, carrion just has a sigil on his own tongue now. but he doesn't know how he got it nor what its purpose is and frankly neither do i <3

Ways to Offend / Earn their Wrath : killing for sport, purposefully causing forest fires, any other way of interfering in the cycle. despite his own state as a human, he frowns upon people meddling with mortality in ways that he deems “unnatural” - whether with immortality, or resurrection.

I know the dangers...but with everything else I’ve already experienced in my life, what’s one more danger and a little more pain for me?”They seemed like awfully big words coming from someone so small. but Senna was much older than she looked and she certainly wasn’t going to let her tiny stature make her hold back her rage against the CCG. These people were the enemy. Personally and as a member of Aogiri. The Dove who had stolen what they did from her as a child...watching them kill ghoul children while she was homeless on the streets after escaping The Hell. And now that she had a ‘family’ full of ghouls. The first caring parental figure she had known--Tatara-- was worth the risk of getting hurt. Pain was just pain. So long as he and the rest of her family remained alive...the danger was worth it.

For my OCs, pretty much any ship with them is my otp haha. I love my brain kids and anyone who is willing to ship with them.

For my Canon muses:

Chuuya: Pretty open to shipping him with anyone within reason, but I don’t have any ships for him that I feel strongly about one way or another. 

Kagari: Mana / Kaltz 

Levi: No one really? Just hit me with some decent chemistry. 

Ouni: Suou / Nibi

Kuro: Man, I have no idea. I’m kind of cool with just about anyone? 

Therion: Primrose /  Cyrus 

Shiki: Hell  No one. At all. He’s horrible. I have almost no desire to ship him whatsoever. 

Souji: Hijikata, Souji also has a wonderful ship with @backblade​‘s Kenshin! 

Yasusada: Kashuu. I’m also open to Kanesada and Horikawa.

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE? :

Depends on how old the muse is. With Ouni and Yuki, I’m not comfortable with age gaps greater than a year because they’re both minors. With everyone else, assuming the muse is over 20, I’m pretty laidback. 

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING? :  

Kind of? I’m more picky depending on the muse. So certain muses I’m more selective with than others. For example, I am very selective when it comes to who I’m willing to ship August with and I may be unwilling to ship characters like Shiki and Aeron entirely, while, when it comes to characters like Souji, Yasusada, Casimir, and Chuuya, I’m not nearly as selective (basically the more triggering I deem a muse, the more selective I am about shipping them). I’ll admit I’m trash and love shipping, but I won’t ship with everyone under the sun, I prefer to ship with muns who communicate with me ooc, and that could be as simple as talking back and forth in the tags.  

HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY’RE CONSIDERED NS/FW? :

I usually tag things as n s f w if it’s clear the thread is starting to head in that direction, and I’ll tag more vague implications of it as n s f wish.

WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH? :

@backblade​ with Souji, and I think Luna and I are still trying to get Therion’s butt with Primrose even though he’s unworthy. @moonliitwaltz​. Otherwise, I don’t have any other active ships or attempted ships on this blog. 

ANY NOTPS? :

This really depends on muse. I prefer not to write out abusive ships (this is especially the case for muses like Mio and August who have been victims of sexual assault and I am just so uncomfortable with the idea of writing anything of that nature with them or with my minors, for example). Obviously if you ship with Shiki, you’re signing up for something abusive and toxic, which is why I’m not keen on shipping him. It just kind of depends heavily on the muses involved. 

DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU? :

Kind of. I would prefer you straight out ask if you’re interested in a shop because I’m denser than a brick when it comes to picking up on romantic hints in interactions so if you want something to go somewhere you should probably just scream at me or I might not figure it out haha. Like I’ve had characters make out before and I’m still like soooo are we shipping for not? So yeah haha. I pretty much always keep that lane open when interacting and you just have to ask, otherwise I assume we’re not shipping. 

HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP? :

I like shipping! Be it platonic or romantic, I just tend never to get a lot of ships, probably because I’m terrible about bringing them up to people. 

ARE YOU MULTISHIP? :

Limited multi-ship to two ships per muse. I learned the hard way if you don’t than one muse ends up with five ships while the others have none. 

ARE YOU SHIP-OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS? :

I love shipping! Again, any kind of ship is totally okay with me and I love forming relationships with other people’s muses. 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM? :

Use your imagination because I have too many fandoms on this blog to answer this question, and you can assume if it was on the otp list it’s probably my favorite ship for that fandom.

2) What are some short-term and/or long-term goals you’ve managed to fulfill ? 

hmmm... i’m lame and nothing much comes to mind. one long term goal i’ve fulfilled that i’m pretty proud of was raising my gpa and pulling myself out of academic suspension completely in one semester at my old college bc i was a dumb ass when i was younger and skipped class a lot bc of my MDD. i busted ass and it really paid off~ i’m usually extremely lazy when it comes to studying, but nope. not this time lol. a short term goal... uhhh the most recent was knocking down my drafts from 50+ to about 25. HAHA WOW I AM SO LAME.

3) Do you have any particulars about the way you dress ? If so, what are they ? 

ehhh not really, i wear whatever, altho i tend to steer clear of things i consider tacky... would love to some day dress to my aesthetic but I’M TOO SELF CONSCIOUS.

4) Has your writing style / muse preference / portrayal changed since the last part of your life ( ex: if you’re in college, since you first started high school ) ?

whale, my writing style has for sure changed since high school and when i first started college. D: i look back on my old work and weep bc i used to write so wonderfully lmao idk what happened. muse preference hasn’t really changed -- i’ve always favored ocs over canon characters and female ocs over male ocs. altho there was a period in my life where i, like, roleplayed nothing but male canon characters lol.

5) Are you the type to make muse aesthetic boards and playlists ? If not, what’s the ‘fanciest’ thing you do for your muse(s) ?

HELL YES I AM. i love making aesthetics and graphics and playlists for my ocs. IDK WHY, EITHER, I JUST DO. i guess because it’s a lot of fun and also i loooove finding songs that remind me of my muses or ships. i also think it’s interesting to have a visual medium of my muse’s taste and aesthetic and stuff... i used to have a ton of playlists back on my old laptop for older ocs of mine, but they’ve since disappeared since my hard drive crashed and i was unable to salvage anything except what was on my flash drive.

6) If you’re a multi-muse blog, are there any muses that you favor that others don’t seem to gravitate to ? If you’re a single-muse blog, is there a genre of plot you love seeing your muse in but don’t get much of ?

eun-biiiii. i love writing her, but most ppl wanna interact with ji or kimi, which is cool bc i understand. they’re easier to interact with. and although noey is still new to this blog, i have a feeling people won’t really gravitate towards her, either. nbd tho bc i have ppl who do love interacting with eun-bi and noey so ; u;

7) You can only eat ONE type of cuisine ( Thai, Indian, Italian, etc. ) for a week. Which is it ? 

chinese, hands down. i can live off of chinese food tbh.

8) What are some of your writing habits ?

run on sentences, writing novel length replies when i told myself i wouldn’t, hella introspection, and furiously using synonyms for certain words i’ve already used in the same paragraph lollll.

9) What’s the closest thing to you that’s the color green ? 

my eyes B] and if that doesn’t count, then my foam mattress topper...

10) Do you have any general advice you tend to give out a lot ? 

hmmm idk... rp wise i tend to say something along the lines of: ‘write for yourself and write what you like’. irl it’s usually something like ‘it’s okay to be feeling (whatever emotion the person i’m currently talking to is experiencing)’. esp with the kids i nanny, i always try to validate their emotions, even if they’re perplexing as hell lmao.

11) What’s something you dislike about your corner of the rpc ? Something you like about it ?

i don’t really have many gripes in my little rpc corner bc the ppl i follow are pretty cool. in general, i hate the male over female bias and favoritism.... that’ll always get my goat, by golly. what i like is how awesome and accepting all of my mutuals are and how they are actuallY INTERESTED IN MY GIRLS AAAAAA.
