Asura Appreciation Week - Day One (belated)

Anyway of course my asura of choice is Alchemagician Ghoss!

Bossy, overconfident, a little annoying, she is the current Pact Commander and it stresses her OUT. She took over after the last commander vamoosed (during HoT storyline), only in part because of her skill - she will never admit it to anyone else, but she knows a lot of her appointment was simply right place, right time, and becoming Aurene's champion.

She is not terribly diplomatic and has a wickedly short temper, so he often relies on her cohorts to help ease tensions when she's run her mouth. She's made strides over the years, but it doesn't stop her throwing a fit when things don't go her way.

BEST LAB SAFETY: FYXX

Fyxx leads his own krewe, so despite his very loose morals and his disregard for his own personal safety, he at least tries to lead by example. Sometimes, if he thinks no one will notice, he might pull out the research notes he stole from Scarlet's lab, but like. He's just reading them. Don't worry about it.

KIND OF OKAY ABOUT IT: FELTT

He's a member of the Inquest, sure, but he at least realizes you can't continue to experiment if you kill yourself off. He takes risk, but oh, every last risk is calculated very literally, and he WILL show you the numbers if you doubt him.

NOT VERY GOOD, OH GOD, WHAT'S SHE DOING NOW: GHOSS

You might think the Pact Commander is someone who is at least somewhat concerned with lab safety. You might think the Pact Commander has any sense whatsoever, and does not perform experiments based largely on whim, without much in the way of prerequisite research or thought or consideration. You might think the Pact Commander is responsible, with a good head on her shoulders. Unfortunately, Ghoss does not think this. She will do whatever sounds right to her, and it usually works out fine enough! So it's fine! Don't mind her preternatural interest in the brand! Don't worry about it!

DO NOT LET THESE BEASTS IN ANY LAB AT ANY TIME: THING AND NEVE

Thing is not smart, by asuran metrics, and he doesn't try to be! But that has never put a damper on his natural curiosity, and he will stick his fingers in anything he can get his hands on, much to his brother Fyxx's dismay.

Neve, on the other hand...well, she's broken into Xunlai Jade before, and she WILL do it again.

Just thinking thots and like. I think everyone thought Keri was SUPPOSED to be Aurene's champion. Like they Knew that The Commander was to be Aurene's. But it never felt right, and she kept trying to be commander, she wanted to feel anything about Aurene, and she was losing it because she felt no connection to anything (the Dream, Mordremoth, sure she was free of his influence but she'd have given anything to BELONG), and then this terrible little brat shows up and instantly feels this powerful bond to Aurene and can do what she can't, and Keri just. Breaks. Has an entire meltdown, and Ghoss is busy trying to help with Aurene because oh shit the commander is not okay, haha don't worry because SHE'S the dragon champion GHOSS IS ON THE JOB, and when Keri quits out of frustration. Well, Ghoss is Aurene's Champion, and it was always supposed to be the Pact Commander who was the champion. So why not give the job to this eager young lady (who is so young, she's a brand new baby adult when she takes over in LW3 era, she went to the jungle and came back so sure of herself) what harm is there in it if she's capable? Taimi is doing just fine and she's even younger!

And thus the crushing weight of responsibility in two forms: Keri loses hers and never stops feeling that emptiness because it was the only direction she had, and Ghoss thought she wanted it more than anything, but to enter adulthood and instantly become the most important person in the world (her words), with so much expectation on your shoulders, the last of the elder dragons irrevocably tied to you...she will not say it scares her. But she sleeps less and less these days...
