Out of the three only he know sign language to communicate with his grandma, he translated for the youngest. (Which, yes, absolutely use it as his advantage) His pa taught him.

Gardening isn't his only hobby but also taxidermy keeping the beauty of the dead still in time. Was planning on having one of those big isle monsters when he got a bigger state.

Since his culture was basically born on the literal backbones of sea creatures, he keeps the tradition of making knives out of shark teeth or other similar creatures. So, the first thing he does after landing on a planet is to know if there's sea life on it.

4. How easy is it to earn their trust?

I'm gonna in-depth on this on the next one because they're connected.

Want Gallen to "trust" you? Be part of his crew and do your job well. Prove you have what it takes and he will gladly sponsor you. He has great respect for work ethics and professionalism. So basically that. He will keep you fed and protected. But even in relationships, Gallen seems to have a hierarchy too.

5. How easy is it to earn their mistrust?

To try to earn his trust.

As someone that has occupied higher ranks for a fair share of his life, he is well aware that some people might try to sweet-talk him into things. After all, he has done so before and will keep doing so. He likes the compliments, he relishes praise but doesn't let it go further, Gallen tries to flip the script. He might use these people in order to further his goals and then discard them.

He has a very twisted view of trust, mostly, if not a purely transactional one.

But even then, he does look out for his crew. Maybe that's the only way you can actually be considered of trust, but even then, it's not fully.

When intentions are pure, and you ask nothing in return, congratulations, you did something a ton of people had been trying to for years: Take Gallen out of his element.

15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?

Depends, he is fast on his feet but also knows when to shut the fuck up, It's all about the when, where, and how it's delivered.

He can and will be crude or mean but he can also be quite mannered.

Also for someone with his temper, he really knows how to keep it cool.
