Fanfic: Taste Tester
Rating and Pairing: Elven M!Rook (OC) x Lucanis Dellamorte. SFW (Still 18+ Blog so lmao)
Contains: Lots of Affection. Teasing, Cooking, Fluff. Kissing. Hugging, Comforting Partner. Awkwardness.
“So, what am I here for again? I thought you don't like it when I'm in the kitchen with you because I'm distracting~?” Demitrix purred.
“If you behave, I’ll let you stay. Besides, I need your taste buds. I am making this for everyone.” Lucanis scolded.
“All I'm doing is taste testing? Is that necessary?” Demitrix chuckled.
“Yes. I need to know if this will be good. I've messed with some of the recipe and I was hoping it came out right.”
Demitrix was sitting nearby in one of the dining room chairs, looking over at the bubbling stew that sat on the burning stove, then back at his beloved. Lucanis’s black, feathery hair hung down as he stirred and his dark eyes staying sharply focused.
“You are so cute when you are focused. Makes me want to bother you.” Demitrix purred mischeviously.
Lucanis gave Demitrix a stern, scolding glance.
“Don’t make me banish you.” Lucanis warned, waving the wooden spoon he was using. “Behave.”
“Fine! Fine. I’ll behave. But only because I like the view.~”
Lucanis rolled his eyes, but a soft subtle smile grew on his lips. After a few moments, he ladled some stew broth and brought it up.
“Come here, Mi Amore. It’s had some time to simmer.”
Demitrix hopped out of the chair, sauntering over to stand next to him. His raven black curls hanging in front of his face, which Demitrix lazily tried brushing them away. Lucanis turned to look at him and made a face.
“You are going to dip your hair in the broth.”
Before Demitrix could protest, Lucanis swooped his hand under his bangs, and brought the spoon to his lips.
“Your hair is getting long.” Lucanis observed.
Demitrix jolted, blushing brightly at his touch and sipped at the broth. The surge of salty and savory flavor on his tongue melded nicely, leaving a soft spicy feeling that lingered on his lips. The warmth of the stock made him feel so cozy, it was like he was wrapped up in his fluffy blankets back in his room.
“Did you add spice? It gives it a nice kick. It's like I'm back home in my apartment, under my blankets during a cold day.” He giggled.
“Good. I want there to be some kind of comfort in it. Harding was talking about being homesick, and I wanted to try and make her feel better...” He chuckled.
Such a doll… We don't deserve him.
Demitrix watched Lucanis taste it himself, tucking some hair behind his ear as he did. His eyes darted around as he began thinking after he tasted it before adding a pinch of something.
He’s so cute when he’s focused. He seems so natural in this setting. So at peace. I don’t see him like this very often. I wonder if he gets this comfortable at home too, when he was cooking… Ah! Lucanis Dellamorte, Housewife!
“You know, when we first met, I never thought that you’d be so… domestic. You came to us in the Lighthouse, and immediately started taking care of a flock of women and myself. Making sure we ate, caring about our health. I mean you got a mint plant for Harding when she was having nightmares.” Demitrix explained, going over and leaning back on a nearby counter. “Never thought the Mage Killer we needed was going to be so caring and nurturing. Now, he’s my lover. Making stew for his makeshift family.”
“Assassins have to always be prepared for any situation. If I can look like a servant, a chef, a laundry boy, I must know how to act like one as well in order to blend in. I'll teach you some of those blending techniques, if you wish. You are… very loud and while that's not always a bad thing, you… should learn to blend in more. I worry. As for you and “the flock of women” we had at the time, you all were eating scraps of food and whatever Harding was finding at the time. Bellara is an excellent cook but even she was struggling to cook for all of you. I was happy to pitch in. Plus… I didn't notice this at first, but when you eat something you like, your skin glows, and your eyes get big and bright. Like you can't believe you’ve never tasted something that good. It's… adorable.”
Demitrix smiled, watching him yap as he talked. His mind went elsewhere as he stared at Lucanis’s thick lips moving. However, as soon as he called him adorable, Demitrix’s face went pink and the color spread across his dark freckled face.
“A-Adorable?! I… don’t understand.” Demitrix said, looking away.
He felt his ears lower and his face grew hot in embarrassment. He tried to look away to hide it, but Lucanis turned to him and sputtered, trying to cover his mouth to hide his laughter.
“Meirda, you’re so pink!” He laughed, setting the spoon down. “You get flustered and embarrassed when I compliment you! It’s really cute! …And funny.” Lucanis stiffled.
Demitrix was now turning redder, trying to hide his face with his hands and groaning loudly.
“Stooop! You...! Agh! You can't just be so sweet out of nowhere…! I am so weak to you! Why are embarrassing me like this?!” Demitrix growled.
“I rarely ever get to see you flustered, its- Oh, don't hide your face! Come here.” He laughed.
Demitrix growled, about to protest more but he suddenly felt strong arms wrap around him and hug him tightly. His body going rigid before he melted into it as Lucanis squeezed him laughing.
“I love seeing you embarrassed. It's rare, you're usually so confident… and to think that I could fluster you like that…” Lucanis giggled.
Oh his giggling… His hugs… My heart is beating so fast!
“Lucaaaa…” Demitrix whined.
Lucanis pulled away, kissing Demitrix’s face and smiling at him, cupping his face in his hands. Demitrix instinctually grabs his hands to keep them on his face.
“Mi amore, I love you so much.” He purred softly.
Demitrix smiled, softly melting against the counter they were leaning on.
“I love you too, amore..” Demitrix said sheepishly.
Demitrix then sniffed the air, as something in the air turned bitter and sharp.
“Is something burning?”
Lucanis paused and sniffed. He then dropped Demitrix on the counter and ran to the stove, cursing in Antivan. He pulled the pot off the burner and tried stirring it up, examining the contents. Once dinner seemed to be saved, he sighed looking at Demitrix, leaning on the counter and giving him an annoyed look.
“Meirda! You are too distracting for your own good.” He shook his head.
Demitrix only laughed, now getting off of the counter he fell onto and dusting himself off.
“That's why you banish me, just like you said. I’m okay, by the way. Thanks for asking.” Demitrix joked.
Lucanis then looked apologetically at him, setting the pot to the side.
“Ah… Sorry I…” He trailed off.
He rushed back over, dusting Demitrix’s back quickly before looking embarrassed and stepping away from him. Fiddling with his hands nervously, as if he was in trouble.
“I am… not good at being…attentive or suave. Or just... I just rush to fix things and I just didn’t think about… my apologies. I am just inexperienced with… this.” He stammered, motioning to Demitrix and himself. “It’s hard to remember that I have a partner now. I am not sure what to say or do most of the time and when I dropped you, I didn’t mean to just… Be patient with me, Please.”
Demitrix laughed and immediately wrapped his arms around his neck, hugging him. He let Lucanis slowly melt into it and felt him wrap his arms around him. Demitrix stayed quiet just to let Lucanis breathe and clear his mind, feeling his quick heartbeats slow down. After it seemed Lucanis calmed down, Demitrix pulled away, looking into Lucanis’s eyes. Immediately getting lost in them and sighing deeply.
“Lucanis. I understand. Okay? We are both new at relationships… but what I do know is that I love you. Whatever you need from me, Luca, you’ll have. You need space? You got it. You need affection? I am right there. You need patience? Done. There’s just one thing I will not do.”
“What…?” He hesitated.
“Give up on you.” Demitrix smiled, kissing his nose. “You're stuck with me now.”
Lucanis smiled, his heart beating faster before hugging Demitrix tightly.
“I think I can live with that.”

By far, Teia and Illario were the most welcoming. After Illario and Lucanis went back and forth for a bit exchanging quips, Illario called servants down to us to take our things and to show us to our rooms. As they guided us upstairs, Illario kept his eyes on me as we left up the stairs, his stare almost icy feeling… a distrusting look. Entirely different from how he was greeting me before. I turned away to shake off the feeling, and only then did I hear him greet Teia and Viago with the same enthusiasm as before.
That lingering icy feeling stayed with me as we got out of Illario’s sight. I gave Lucanis’s hand a squeeze to ground me and felt calmed by his touch, feeling my spine thaw from feeling Lucanis’s warmth in my hand.
He looked at me as I squeezed his hand and smiled reassuringly at me, squeezing it back and whispering in my ear.
“I love you, Demitrix.” He purred.
I blushed and smiled at him, leaning into him as we walked.
“I love you too, Lucanis.” I whispered back.
The servants led us to a huge bedroom with a set of twin doors leading to an overlooking balcony and joined bathroom with a large and extravagant tub inside. I swear you could almost swim in the damn thing! Big enough for two people to share…~ The bed had black and purple silk sheets and covers, with a black veil canopy that hung down on each side of the bed. Even a vanity sat on the opposite side of the room from our bed, brushes and puffs sitting in a small cup to be used for make-up and touching up. A large closet to the left side of the vanity that could hold all the outfits I brought with me, and had a few nightgowns already hanging in it.
I got excited and ran out to the balcony where I instantly fell in love with the view. It overlooked the lake, the sun setting in the distance over the other villas that dotted around the edge of the waters. The sunlight made the lake glitter with sparkling light as golden hour started to come in, coloring everything a bright, golden yellow hue.
I felt a pair of hands grab my shoulders from behind and squeeze them. Lucanis appeared from behind me, resting his head on my shoulder, looking at the lake with me, with a soft smile on his face.
“I knew you'd love this view. You always said you loved this time of the day.”
“Golden hour! Everything turns into my favorite color!” I said, awestruck.
He chuckled and wrapped his arms around me from behind, burying his face into the nape of my neck.
“You are so beautiful, Trix…” Lucanis said with an affectionate tone.
“Luca!” I giggled, turning my head to give him a kiss. “Youre being awfully affectionate!”
“I wanted to wait until we were away from everyone. Just let me breathe you in for a bit before everyone steals away your attention again.”
“No one could steal my attention away from you. You're stuck with me now, and you must live with your choices.” I jested.
“Oh noooo… the horroorrr… Whater shall I doooo…?” he groaned playfully.
He then kissed my check, hugging me close to him while I laughed at him.
“You jest, but you know how much of a mess I am!” I purred, looking into his whiskey colored eyes. “Are you sure you want to do this? You still have time to pull out.”
“When have I ever wanted pull out?~” he said in a hushed and sexy tone.
“Luca!” I gasped in surprise, slapping his hand gently. “You naughty man!”
“I am the naughty one? I make one joke and I'm branded “naughty.” As if you aren't constantly trying to bed me.”
“What can I say? You're addictive.”
He laughed and gave my neck a quick kiss before letting go and gripping my shoulders again and watching the lake.
His eyes seem to shift. As if he thought of something displeasing and looked away from me. He leaned on the balcony with me and crossed his arms.
“Speaking of messes however, that conversation in the carriage that got cut off…” He trailed off.
Immediately the mood was killed off, and I looked away from him. Lucanis is a lot of things. Skilled, dangerous, incredibly sexy, all of those things. Able to socially read a room? Nope.
“Come on. I don't want to talk about it right now, amore.” I softly hushed.
“Then when would be a good time?” He huffed.
“I just… I don't like showing that… part of myself… I struggle a lot and I… You… don't need anything else to balance on your shoulders.”
“Demitrix. You have seen me at the absolute worst. You've opened doors in my mind, both literally and figuratively, that I didn't think was possible. You've loved me through it! You loved me even as Spite made me look like a monster. You helped me with him and now, he naps away inside of me, calmed because of you...” He spoke softly, taking my hands. “So why am I not given the same treatment? Let me take some of the tremendous weight off of you. Do you not trust me with your worst parts like I do with you? After everything we've been through?”
“No! Gods, No Lucanis! There's never been another person that I loved more than you! Trusted more! I trust you with my life!”
“Then trust me with your mind too!” He firmly stated. “Talk to me, and trust me!”
“I do, it’s just I-“
There was a sharp knock on the door and there was an elven maid bowing and looking down at the floor.
“Dinner will be ready soon, sirs. Master Dellamorte asks that you dress up nice for dinner.”
Lucanis huffed, obviously annoyed at being interrupted but it was a welcome interruption for me. I wanted the first night to go well and so far, I was having mixed feelings about everything. Maybe, and Maker was I hoping, Lucanis would forget this for now and just let the matter rest.
“Thank you, Miss.” I bowed to her.
She bowed once more and left. Lucanis sighing and letting go of my hands.
“I will drop the matter for now… I am sorry to bring it up, I just… wish… you'd trust me enough to let me go past your shallow waters. To know you more deeply. I will… let the matter rest. Come on. Let's get dressed for dinner.” He sighed dejectedly.
Luca…
My chest tightened, watching him pull away from me. Rubbing my own hand in this uncomfortable feeling of guilt.
Nice, Demitrix. Really off to a great start to this weekend with Lucanis.
We got out of our Crow outfits and started getting ready. Lucanis donned an embellished black suit with a small train behind him that had purple details all along the edges of the outfit. I wore a black dress with a slit, gold details dotting along the low neckline that showed off my chest, and at the end of the sleeves that hooked onto my middle finger. It had been awhile since I dressed up, especially in a fancy dress like this one and the way Lucanis looked at me in it, made the purchase of this dress even more worth it. Even made me forget about our earlier exchange. I donned my smokey black makeup and even slapped on some black lipstick and gold eyeliner to make my eyes pop more. I wanted to be stunning and by the gods, I was looking at the very definition of the word. I donned on my heels and took Lucanis by his arm. The cologne coming off of him made me melt and want to skip dinner but he seemed still put off by our earlier exchange.
Nothing honestly special happened at the beginning of dinner. Questions were asked about factions welfare, plans for Treviso now that the Antaam were kicked out, progress on the Elven gods, etc.
Lucanis and I exchanged glances at each other occasionally, grabbing and holding each other's hand while I chatted eagerly with everyone. Lucanis seemed content to just remain silent and even seemed pleased he didn't have to talk at all, but he did smile at me as our eyes locked sometimes. Viago scolded me for some choices I've made as a leader recently, but Teia got on him about his judgment of me and started to compliment my looks to take my attention away from him. Asking me to come visit the Diamond more so she doesn't have to hear Viago complain so much. To take on some contracts for her house, but Viago immediately argued with her about which house I actually belonged to. Illario, of course, started teasing Lucanis a bunch. Surprised that hr even has a lover now, asking how it happened, if Spite somehow bewitched me, but Lucanis only fired back asking when Illario was going to “grow up” and settle down. Illario just shrugged and sipped his wine.
“When I feel like it.” Illario brushed off.
The food even seemed so heavenly as the servants brought it out to us. Different dishes from different parts of Thedas, but mostly made of Antivan comfort foods. Warm, aromatic pasta dishes and roasted fish with sides of lemon and steamed vegetables, Ferelden hearty meat stews that screamed cozy and comfort. Like being wrapped in a big wolf skin and drinking spiced ale during a snowstorm. Orlesian Roasted pig that Illario joked, “tasted of despair.” Along with some delicious and creamy cakes that everyone was so excited for. Everything seemed to be going well and I was even starting to relax a bit. Illario stood up at the end of the table and tapped his glass to quiet us down.
“I just wanted to take your time for a while to thank everyone for coming. To toast to a now established couple within the Crows! It is worth a celebration, especially if it's my cousin, Lucanis Dellamorte finally getting himself a lover! I swore he was going to be single forever, even betted money on it! Speaking of which, Remind me to pay you that debt, Teia.” He joked.
She waved her hand at him, giggling and holding onto Viagos arm.
“But here he is! With a blushing and handsome man at his side, and the pair looks so deeply in love with each other! Holding hands and even putting a smile on my grumpy cousins face.” Illatio sighed, smiling at Lucanis. “It warms my heart to see you so happy, Cousin. You deserve nothing less than true happiness and a life filled with true love after everything our house has been through. After losing Caterina… She’d… judge your relationship harshly, but I know… she would love seeing that smile on your face. With that being said! Demitrix of House De Riva! Come up here! Let everyone get a good look at you! Let them all bask in your beauty and glory!”
I looked at Lucanis who nodded at me to go up there, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze. I smiled at him before getting up and walking up to Illario, standing next to him at the end of the table. Looking over at everyone, Lucanis smiled up at me with Teia. Viago was indifferent during dinner and more stern looking but here… when I walked up here, I saw his eyes glance at Illario and sharpen. As if he was watching Illario closely now that I was going to be near him. His eyes made me stay on edge. Wearing the face of ignorance well like I usually did on high risk contracts.
What’s going on, Viago…? What do you know?
Illario continued giving his speech, putting his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into him as if I was his date and not Lucanis’s.
“Demitrix! You came to us at such a young age! Fourteen years old and could barely speak any Antivan at the time. A young Dalish teenager. Not as young as we usually get new fledglings, but you came to us highly recommended. Your guildmaster, Silas, had nothing but good things to say to Viago. Talked up a storm about you to him and almost begged him to let you join the Crows. Silas was already hard to impress and the fact that he was so fond of you already?! Made it easy for Viago to decide. Now, look at you! All grown up and hanging on the arm of my cousin! A Dellamorte, nonetheless! Now, a leader of your own little “house.” That is amazing, isn't it? You, somehow, thawed my cousin’s icy heart and made him bloom in ways I’ve never seen before! If Caterina were here, I think she would… well. Judge you. Harshly. If she saw how much you make Lucanis smile, however, she’d adore you. Just like she adores our lovely Miss Andarateia Cantori. You and Lucanis are so close and so loving towards each other, that If we want them to be official in the House of Crows, I think we should make Demitrix go through the “Trial of Talons.” What do you say, Demitrix? Illario embellished.
My blood went icy when Illario mentioned Silas, which was replaced with curiosity as he brought up the Trail of Talons. I was shaken out of my thoughts though, when Lucanis stood up angrily out of his seat, slamming his hands on the table.
“No! I refuse for you to put him through that!” Lucanis snapped, hissing through gritting teeth. “How dare you even suggest putting Trix through something as harrowing as that! He’s already proven himself!”
“Woah, Cousin! Easy! What? You don't believe he can do it? Do you think so little of him?” Illario defended, glancing at me. “I mean… wouldn’t our dear sweet Caterina put him through this if you wished to continue this relationship with him? Would she not have him tested?” Illario said slyly.
“That is not what-“ Lucanis began.
“What is the Trial of Talons?” I interrupted.
Trying to ease the tension just a bit, I looked at Lucanis and then Illario for an answer. The room became deathly still and quiet from the sudden tension. However, Illario gave me a quick and charming smile, almost adjusting his emotions before speaking again.
“The Trial of Talons is what every Antivan Crow HOPES to go through, but also dreads it every second before it actually happens. It is the same trials that Lucanis, Teia, Viago, and myself all went through before becoming the rank we are now. Even Caterina went through the Trials in her younger years. They are what sets a Talon apart from a guildmaster like your Silas was, a master, or just a little assassin such as yourself and are as old as the Antivan Crows themselves.” Illario projected.
“The Trial of Talons usually is a set of eight tests, one for each Talon to perform on the Testee. These tests are designed to be long, gruelling and could take years to set up with all the Talons. Not to mention that the Testee could DIE from this Trial, just from stress alone. The Testee would need to be recommended by their Guildmaster, and have the Talon of the House that they were under to sign off on it. As you can see, we only have TWO Talons. Viago, as far as I know, never signed off on it. I have heard nothing from their Guildmaster, nor have we even seen them, and the most important detail that we’re missing is YOU cannot make him undergo this. YOU are NOT First talon.” Lucanis growled.
I shifted uncomfortably in Illarios grip as the tension rose. I could feel Illarios hand squeeze my shoulder hard for a second before relaxing. He got behind me, and chuckled darkly. As if he was holding back some kind of hidden rage. He leaned down and brought his face down by ear, smiling at Lucanis with a grin.
“My Cousin. Viago HAS signed off on it.” He purred.
Lucanis’s head snapped over to Viago in anger, his eyes flashing purple slightly for a second before fading away.
“What?! How could you do that, Viago?!”
Viago sat there silently for a moment, eyes sharpening at Illario before turning his head towards Lucanis with an annoyed look.
“I think he’s ready for it”
Viago… thinks I am ready to be a Talon?
“Viago-“ Lucanis spat out.
“It took me several weeks to decide if Demitrix is truly ready for that. He has had quite the mess on his hands from a few past jobs. One with Silas. The other with Antaam. I share your concern, even if it is not for the same reasons. He is rebellious. Impatient. Impulsive. Worst of all, everything is a big joke to him. He never takes anything seriously and always tries to laugh off failures. These Trials could eat him alive. Theyll scar him. Change him. They break even the strongest of wills, we all know.” Viago huffed, looking at me now. “But Demitrix… while I dont always agree with HOW you do things, you get it done. You show remarkable will, courage, and heart, almost the same as a TRUE Talon does. You do whatever it takes, however it needs to be done.”
The whole table went quiet, along with myself. Teia looked over at me, smiling big and tapping Viagos arm excitably. He glanced at her with a subtle smile before turning back to me with the same stern face.
“I think you are ready for these Trials. I can see the potential in you. I can feel it. I can see it. You’ve changed from how you were when all this started. Perhaps, it's because of Lucanis’s influence or maybe even your team’s influence. Either way, I can see how much you have grown alongside Lucanis. However, that doesn’t mean I will go easy on you during your trial with me. Expect the same mercy we show our enemies. None.”
My heart nearly leapt out of my chest, watching Viago praise me as strongly as he did. My resolve is even becoming stronger. My will to prove myself to them growing even more potent. However, Lucanis did not look happy, glaring over at Illario.
“While that is… a very nice thing to say to my beloved, what about his Guildmaster? Silas, you said? What do they think of this?!” Lucanis pleaded.
“We don't need to-“ I began.
“He’s dead. There's no one to ask. Demitrix has been getting contracts straight from me for the last two years.” Viago interrupted.
Lucanis turned to me and I felt my blood freeze. His eyes were big, looking at me with some kind of shock. The guilt that was gnawing on my heart felt like full bites now, but he shook his head.
“We don't have all the Talons anymore! We can't do this with only two Talons!”
“Actually, because of Illarios presence, there will be Three. We also helped modify it so it would only take a weekend to get done. We know how precious your time is right now, but this is duty to the Crows. It is important to us, Lucanis. Just as it is important to you. We understand your fear, but Illario has a point. Do you not believe he can do this?” Teia piped up.
“What kind of question is that?” Lucanis growled.
“An honest one. We all believe he can pass them. Why don’t you?” Teia softly pointed out.
“I have lost Caterina, my mother and more than half my family, and now my old, non possessed life! When I tell you…” His voice started to shake, but he reigned in his emotions and continued. “I will not lose him too…”
My heart broke to hear him so concerned for me. Thinking back again on our argument, that's all he really wants is to protect me.
I trust him… I just… Seeing him like this… Seeing how protective he has gotten over me… I wasn't trusting him enough before… Oh, Luca…
I tried to instinctively pull from Illario as Lucanis’s voice broke for a second but Illario held me firmly in place.
“Then trust in him and his abilities. He's a big boy, Lucanis. If he is to be on equal ground with you, treat him as such, and trust him as much.”
I fucking love you, Teia.
Looking down at the table, he sighed, almost sounding as if he is tired of fighting a battle he cannot win.
“You're still not the First Talon, Illario.”
“Neither are you, Cousin. I am, however, ACTING First Talon since our First Talon was taken from us and you ran off to the Fade to defend our world.. Besides.” Illario said through gritted teeth.
He grabbed my left hand and held it up.
“If you do want his hand in the future, Cousin…” He began, letting my wrist drop. “You wont be able to marry unless he proves that this marriage between you and House Dellamorte will be beneficial for the House of Crows. Otherwise, he becomes a target.”
“A target? More than I already am?” I scoffed, turning towards Illario. “How could I become even MORE of a target?”
“Rumors can be a very dangerous thing, you know this very well. What would it look like if word got around the Houses of Crows about Lucanis Dellamorte is fucking a lesser Crow? Especially one not from an actual family? Everyone would think you're trying to “climb the ranks.” No one would take you seriously. Worst of all, the other houses will try and pick you off for a chance at Lucanis’s heart. For a chance to climb like you seem to be.”
I could hear Lucanis start to say something but I cut him off. My rage came up quicker than I wanted it to and before I could stop myself, I turned and looked up at Illario, getting close to his face.
“Do not call me “lesser,” Illario. I have done more than YOU ever have in your lifetime and have seen things that would haunt you...” I said through my teeth with a hiss. “I have proven myself above a fledgling long before I became a Crow.”
The facade finally fell as I growled in his face. His smile dropped and he sneered at me with an air of superiority.
“If you are as good as you claim, then prove yourself to us, Coniglio” He said, getting in my face.
I heard Teias seat screech across the marble floor as she stood up, outraged.
“Illario Dellamorte! How dare you call him that! Caterina taught you to behave better!” Teia scolded.
“You better WATCH how you speak to him around me! Don’t you ever call him that again!” Lucanis barked.
They all started yelling at each other and the yelling became overwhelming, even for me. All I wanted to do was run back to our room and hide.
“I will go through the Trial of Talons!” I interrupted loudly.
“What?!” Both Lucanis and Teia said, turning towards me.
Illario took a deep breath and smiled down at me. This time, the smile was full of venom.
“You’ll start tomorrow morning with Teia. I can't wait to see if you pass them.”
I looked up at him, glaring up at him with a confident smile.
“I can't wait to see your face when a “Coniglio” passes your trials.” I growled quietly.
——————————
I heard the door to our bedroom open up and softly before I heard Lucanis’s voice call for me.
“Demitrix?” Lucanis called as he walked into our bedroom.
“Balcony.” I said heavily.
I left shortly after accepting going through the trials. Slipping out while everyone started yelling at Illario. Viago was trying to drag Teia out as she was starting to take off her heels and screaming about how much she detested how he treated me. Lucanis was getting in Illarios' face about calling me “Rabbit” in front of him.
I just couldn't deal with any of it anymore. I was too tired to climb up somewhere high to hide and was just waiting for Lucanis to come up the stairs to yell at me as well for not telling him about Silas. Or at least, what I thought he was going to do.
He came onto the balcony behind me while I was leaning against the railing. I let the wind blow past my face and it kept my hair away from my face. It felt nice. Like cool hands to soothe a flustered face. The sun is now barely seen over the horizon line, giving the sky a purple hue.
“Are you okay?” Lucanis said with a rare softness. “Things got very intense. I've rarely seen you get so angry.”
He rubbed my back softly, his finger tracing my spine from the top down.
“I half expected you to start yelling at me next.” I said quietly.
“When have I EVER yelled at you? If you are talking about your guildmaster-”
“I fucked up. Okay? I know. And before Viago tells you, Yes. I did get him killed.” I said angrily.
Lucanis was silent for a couple of moments. Enough to make me feel bad for my little angry outburst.
“I am not angry, just… What happened…?” He urged gently.
I sighed. “Does it matter?”
“It seems that it does to you.”
At first, I was reluctant. My anger makes me stubborn and reactive. Something I was trying very hard to contain, especially in the emotional state I was in.
“Contract went bad. It involved the Venatori, funny enough. Walked right into a trap that they laid out for me and a couple of friends that I had with me to help on the contract.Silas was being overprotective and was following me on the mission. He saw what happened and helped bust us out of the trap. Because he had to help me, they ended up catching him and killing him in front of me.” I sniffled, wiping my eyes. “I never really thought about it, but he treated me like his son. I, the rebellious young son, never saw it until it was too late. Now he's dead. Because of me.” I growled.
Lucanis remain speechless, rubbing my back to try and comfort me. He knew it'd be no use telling me it wasn't my fault at this time so he only comforted me in the way he knew how.
“I'm sorry he's gone.”
“I’m fine. I'm over it. I'll do these trials just to rub it in Illarios stupid face and then we can go back to the lighthouse.” I spat out.
I wanted to keep up my stoic facade, but inside I was SCREAMING. I was terrified of the trials. What it could do to me. What it could change about us. All I wanted was to run into his arms and just feel safe in him but… Part of me was still being stubborn. Still wanting to separate myself from anything could eventually hurt me. Lucanis included.
But…
I heard him sigh and felt Lucanis’s hand give me a soft pat on my back as he pulled it away.
“Alright… I… I can tell you are angry, and do not wish to speak. If you need me, Ill… ” his voice trailed off.
“Brosca… I need some air…”
Talk to him. Talk. We will literally LOSE him if we don’t, we can't do that. NO MORE.
Not thinking, I leapt towards him. Latching onto his arm and burying my face into it.
No… I will not lose him to my pride. I will not lose him to my fear. I will not lose him as well.
“I… I am not okay.” I whimpered, shaking. “Please, I’m sorry, I am…. Just… really fucking scared, amore. I don’t know how to think or how to feel about any of this. I don't want…” I gulped, my voice shaking. “I don’t want to die…”
He stared at me, his eyes getting big towards me before scooping me up into his arms, holding me tightly. I could hear him make a loud sigh of relief and we sank to the floor with me in his arms.
“I…am too. Regardless of what Illario thinks, I think you can do it. I am… just the thought of you possibly dying is… I am very scared to lose you. I love you so much and… I just can't lose anyone else… I don't even want to think about it…” He said in a shaky voice, before steeling himself again. “But if you truly want to do this… Then I will support you wherever you need me. I love you so much, Demitrix...”
I stared up at him, tears falling from my eyes. I tried to speak but all that came out was tears that streamed down my cheeks as I hugged his body. As soon as I started to cry, I heard him start to cry as well. His body was shaking with sobs along with mine.
Both of us were so scared of losing the other and now that we had stopped pretending to be brave or hard, it was like… we had finally reached a more intimate closeness with each other.
It was like we had been swimming all of our lives and were too scared to rest, lest sharks were to catch up to us. We were so used to swimming and living in constant fear that we failed to see the boat trying to catch up with us. Now that we are on the boat, the relief was immeasurable to us. We had finally found safety in our boat.
We both sat there on the floor for a while, crying and holding one another. I started taking in Lucanis’s scent and felt my heart lose some of the heaviness to it. The smell almost brought me back to the lighthouse, where the rest of our little family was waiting for us. His heart beating in my ear, even calmed me down from crying.
He loosened his grip on me, petting my hair and letting out a long, relieved breath. He cupped my face in his hands, making me look up into his beautiful, tear stained, brown eyes.
“I love you, Amore…” He whispered lovingly.
I smiled up at him and kissed him deeply, gripping onto one of his hands as we locked our lips. I heard a soft purr escape him and as I pulled away, I saw his eyes dart to my lips and then back at my eyes. A small new kind of smile appeared on his lips.
“I love you too, Luca… More than anything in the world.”
His eyes locked onto mine, big and deep looking at me with deep affection. Something must have clicked in his mind at this time, because he got up excitedly, grabbing my hands to pull me up.
“Come on. Get up.”
“What?” I giggled, getting up slowly. “What are you doing?”
“I read about this in a romance novel… and since you mentioned it earlier in the day… Let's do what you’ve been dying to do.”
“Which is…?” I urged.
“Let's go swimming in the lake. Quickly, come on!” He hurried.
He started quickly pulling off his suit until it was down to the plain black dress shirt and his dress pants. His eyes alight with contained excitement, wildness now replacing his usual broodiness.
Creators, he’s finally snapped. Oh well. Spite isn't out so that's a good sign.
I ignored the worry that came from his behavior, letting him be happy for once and threw off my heels, tossing them in the corner. I was about to change out of my dress but Lucanis stopped me.
“No, please… Keep wearing that.~”
I smirked, leaving it on and going over to him before kissing him slowly. My arms wrapped around his head.
“Alright, Dreamboat.~ Whisk me away.” I purred.
He took my hands and started dragging me away down the stairs and outside towards the waters. I was giggling as we traveled through the villa, excited to finally go swimming and to see Lucanis behaving so… manically. He chuckled as well, shushing me as we snuck out of the villa.
It felt like we became teenagers, sneaking out to get into trouble and the euphoria after both of us just getting done crying our eyes out was swimming in our veins.
He ran with me to the shore line, where he scooped me up and held me bridal style, spinning me around and making my dress flap in the wind. My laugh, as he picked me up, echoed in the dark, bouncing along the subtle waves of the water. His smile illuminated by the lanterns that dotted the edge of the shore, his dark eyes sparkling with the reflection of the lanterns like stars. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him again, giddy and playful.
“You are so sappy and romantic! I absolutely love it!” I snorted.
“Oh? Do you wish for me to be like this more often with you, Mister De Riva?”
“Ew! Don't call me that!” I laughed, kicking my legs. “You make me sound like this old gentleman! I am not there yet!”
“I’m telling Viago.” Lucanis said with a smirk.
“Don't you dare! He’ll poison me!” I gasped.
“I won't tell him, if you do something for me.~” He sneered playfully.
“You blackmailing bastardo!” I acted offended by his attempt to blackmail me. “Fine. What is the price of your silence, Assassin?”
“Hold your breath.” He said with a twisted smile.
“What?”
He spun around with me in his arms before launching me straight into the icy water.
The way I screamed and splashed around probably made it sound like he was drowning me. I stood up, drenched and shivering like a wet cat and there was Lucanis. On the shore, laying in the sand. Laughing. BELLY LAUGHING.
“Your face! I never thought I’d see you like that! You were so surprised!” He gasped.
I stopped and stared at him, my heart falling hopelessly and deeply in love with him.
Oh no. Oh no. Oh no, I am so hopelessly in love with this man.
My brain flitted to our future married life, to having children, to living out our golden years watching the sunset in the distance. My heart fluttered seeing him so happy. Laughing like crazy. Seeing him having fun. It was the hottest thing I'd ever seen him as and more than anything, I wanted him to push my face into the sand and make me scream so loud, that SOLAS could hear it in the Fade.
It was, unfortunately, overshadowed quickly by my need for vengeance. I was cold and my make up was now ruined. He will pay for his transgressions towards me.
I scooped up some water with my dress and ran towards him. Once he realized what I was doing, he scrambled up and started to run away but his foot caught a stick buried in the sand and he fell face first.
AN OPENING!
I then launched the water all over him, coating his whole back with icy cold revenge.
He yelled out in shock from the water and then it was my turn to laugh at him as he stood up soaking wet.
Well. I was laughing until I saw a flash of purple. He tackled me into the water, Spite’s wings stretched out from his back.
“COLD. WET. ROOK MADE US. UNCOMFY!” Yelled Spite.
He wrestled with me in the water as I laughed and pushed him away from me, knocking him into the water.
“It was justly deserved!” I yelled back.
“Those will be your last words, Amore!” Lucanis laughed as he dunked my head under the water.
As I went under, I scrambled from his grip and grabbed his legs and pulled them out from under him, letting him fall into the water again.
He yelled in shock from the cold again, and we both started just splashing each other. We were alone, just ourselves and the water. Nothing else even mattered at that moment.
We tired ourselves out, both crawling up on the beach, giggling like children. We just laid in the sand, looking at the billions of stars above. Lucanis’s eyes sparkling with joy before closing his eyes. A large smile printed on his shimmering face.
His eyes then opened suddenly and flashed purple, Spite’s wild smile appearing.
“ROOK. IS FUN! MAKES. LUCANIS LIGHTER. SO BRIGHT IN. HERE. SO MUCH SPACE.”
“Ha… I hope so, Spite.” I giggled, patting his chest. “Did he pass out?”
“HE DID. THE SWIMMING. DINNER. SAND COMFY. TRIX IS CLOSE. NOW I CAN SPEAK.” Spite growled, digging his fingers into the sand. “I LIKE. ROOK. GAVE US SPACE. DID NOT PUSH AWAY. NEVER HATED ME. WHY?”
“I have a good feeling about people, Spite. Had to learn how to read others for my job. Just like Lucanis had to.” I sighed, poking his nose. “I didn't like that you gave him a nosebleed when we all first met. But… If I was going to love him, I have to love all of him. If you were going to be a part of him, then I had to get used to you being there too.”
“I JUST WANTED TO TALK TO YOU!” He snarled, shaking his face from my finger. “I WAS ANGRY!”
“That is no excuse to hurt someone.” I scolded sternly.
He growled, turning his head away from me. He sat there in silence for a bit. I saw his little purple eyes darting around, as if in an intense daydream, locked deep thought and he just sighed, his body relaxing, and started playing with the sand.
I sat up, and watched him, hugging my knees. Mostly just for warmth and comfortability. Becoming uncomfortably aware of how cold it was and regretting wanting to go swimming.
Gods, I'm freezing. I am soaked to the bone with cold lake water, but I have to watch over Spite for Lucanis. As much as I trust Spite which… is very little.
Spite must have noticed I was shivering because he got up and started pressing his body against me and holding me in his arms, his wings wrapping around us.
“What are you doing, Spite?” I chuckled.
“YOU SHIVER. LUCANIS WARM. GET ON MY LAP.”
He batted me with a wing and I laughed, sitting in his lap while he wrapped his arms around my waist and leaned on me. I did feel a slight warmth as he purred against me.
“ROOK. SMELLS NICE. LIKE LYRIUM AND ROSES.”
“You probably smell the dagger.”
“DAGGER DOESN'T SMELL LIKE ROSES. YOU SMELL LIKE. COMFORT SMELLS. LIKE WARM MEMORIES.”
“Haven't we told you that you can't just smell people without permission?”
“TAASH DOES IT!” He argued.
“That’s… True.”
He just huffed, and held me tighter.
Comfort smells, huh? That makes me happy in a weird way. I can tame the beast in a way.
“Hey Spite?”
“WHAT?”
“Do you actually like me? Do you like me with Lucanis?”
He growled low for a second, thinking.
“YES. HE LISTENS TO YOU. YOU MAKE HIM FUN. HE LETS ME OUT MORE. LETS ME SPEAK. BECAUSE OF YOU. HE IS. SOFTER. MORE LIGHTER WITH YOU.” He hissed, holding me tighter. “SAME AS ME. LIKE WARMTH. YOU REMIND ME. HOME. WHAT I WAS.”
“I remind you of who you were once? That doesn’t bother you at all?”
“YOU MAKE IT EASIER TO DEAL WITH. YOU MAKE EVERYTHING EASIER…” He groaned softly.
I felt him lean forward, pressing his face into my back before I heard Lucanis’s voice purr in my ear.
“Did I pass out…?” He groaned groggily.
“Yep. Don't worry, though. Spite was just telling me all of your deepest darkest secrets.” I smirked.”
I chuckled and pressed my face into his. Watching his wings slowly recede into him.
“I am glad that hes not too much for you. He likes you quite a lot.”
“I gathered. Although, as much as it is nice cuddling with you and him, I’m fucking freezing. Can we go inside and maybe…”
I swirled my hips into his lap, running my fingers under his chin as his face grew pink.
“Get all warmed up? I think after such an eventful day… I need to blow off some steam before I go through hell tomorrow…”
His fingers groped at my hips, and darkly chuckled in my ear. I felt him start to kiss at my neck and I jolted, clawing into his arm.
“L-Luca! Right here…?! I didn’t think you’d-“ I gasped.
“Right here. Except. I want to do something different tonight…”
“Of course!” I chirped, scratching his beard lovingly. “Anything you want, my amore. What is your desire?~”
He seemed a bit shy at first, his face only getting more pink. He took a breath and steeled himself, looking me in the eyes with his mesmerizingly dark eyes.
“I want to… hunt for you.”

“This is stupid.”
“It’ll be fine. Quit messing with your tie! You’ll mess up my hard work!” I laughed.
“I look like… My cousin.” Lucanis said with a sigh.
I looked back into the mirror, staring at us and admired the handsome men standing before it with a very satisfied grin.
I started fixing up part of my long curly hair, tucking in some loose black strands. I then placed a gold bow towards the ends of my hair, making it into a loose ponytail. I watched the light catch the bluish tints of my black hair and make it pop and brighten. Lucanis’s hair almost seemed to glow with a slight purpleish tint in the candle light, the spark dancing on the tips that were slicked back against the side of his head.
I went out to Treviso the day before and got us nice looking outfits to wear on our night out from a tailor who owed me a favor. I was very specific with my wants, and Creators, did he deliver. Both outfits were lightweight but durable, and beautiful to look at.
I had a white shirt with gold detailings on the ruffles that ran down my chest and at the end of my arms. The shirt opened, exposing a bit of my chest and upper stomach. My gold face tattoos were almost glittering in the light reflected in the mirror.
Lucanis has a plain black shirt with purple details around the collar and the edges of the sleeves. He had it buttoned up all the way and tucked it inside of his pants, looking dashing and poised. A small purple tie hung down from his collar, swaying a bit with his movement. His dark eyes danced around the mirror. They never seemed to take a break from searching, never not moving.
Both of us were wearing black leather pants, with a thin black belt around our waist. Lucanis insisted on them so we could stow our weapons during the evening. Understandable compromise. He, however, lined his entire belt with small knives. And two daggers at his side.
I just had some poison vials and two daggers hanging off of my side. I did argue that that many knives were unnecessary but Lucanis said you could never have too many.
I chose to let it be and just let him do what made him more comfortable. After all, I wanted him to have a good time tonight. I just wished he didn’t look like a walking armory while we were out.
He does deserve a break after two months of working. I figured I should be the one to ask him on this night out, since we had been working closely with each other. We would have had more company but Taash kept calling it a date and refused to come and Davrin just gave me a small smirk when I asked him to come along followed by him saying: “Have fun with Lucanis.”
I shook their words and sly expressions from my head and just continued my smile towards Lucanis. After all, this was not a date. It's a simple night out.
“Your cousin has good taste in fashion then!” I said with a smirk.
“I am glad he is not here to hear you say that.”
Lucanis scoffed and continued to mess with the tie. I just sighed and turned him towards me.
“Let me fix it.” I huffed, my hands twitching as I smelled his cologne on him. “I thought you would be used to ties. You are always so nicely dressed.”
Lucanis jolted a bit as I touched him, his dark eyes watching me extremely close, but slowly put his hands down as I fixed his tie.
“Is this night out really necessary? We have work to do.” Lucanis yawned, blinking his dark eyes slowly. “Besides, I need coffee…”
“We deserve a break. Come on, I know you aren’t sociable, buuuttt it might be nice! To get out and enjoy Treviso! We haven’t been home in so long, we should enjoy it while we’re here! Get into trouble! Get some drinks! Tear it up!”
“Treviso has been torn up enough.” Lucanis said bluntly, before gently grabbing my shoulders. “If you think this is wise, then let's go, but I will keep up my guard. You should as well.”
“Well…” I began, looking into his dark eyes and I almost felt myself melting. “Try to have fun, even on guard. For me, okay?”
I saw Lucanis’s eyes soften as I asked, before Spite flew out of Lucanis’s back and spun towards me.
“Ha! Have fun?! Not this guy. Doesn’t know fun if it STABBED HIM IN THE BACK.”
Lucanis groaned in annoyance and was about to say something but I cut him off, laughing. I then pointed at Spite, walking up to him.
“You. Take a break tonight, alright? Trust me. You’ll get some action. Plenty of action! You won't be bored. Just let Lucanis have some quiet time. Okay?”
Spite growled a bit, looking back at Lucanis before looking back at me.
“You promise? That I won't be bored? Don’t lie to me, Little Crow.” He growled back at me.
“I swear.” I said, smiling back.
He looked back at Lucanis and scoffed before disappearing. Lucanis held his head for a moment before groaning.
“You handle him well. I thought, maybe, he’d prove… too much for you. He proves almost too much for me sometimes.”
“Oh gods no. Nothing is too much for me. Trust me, I can handle the ghast. This one job had me…Well, let's just say I am used to dealing with difficult people.” I said confidently.
Lucanis cracked a small smile. “Good to know.”
I felt my face get slightly hot, and I faced the mirror once more.
“Well look at us! Two handsome men who are about to have a nice night for themselves. Can't wait to see where the night takes us!”
Lucanis just looked in the mirror and sighed defeatedly, walking out of the room.
I laughed and followed right behind him, eager to see my home again.
——————————————
This is a bad idea.
No it isn’t, Solas.
The elven gods wreak havoc and you are just-
Getting yelled at by you. I am trying to have fun. More fun than I have had in a while with a guy I like being around. Taking a moment away to enjoy the views and enjoy my life while I still have it.
You won't have a life long if you continue to ignore them.
And I won't have a life at all if I bust my ass all the time, working. I need a break. Just relax for a bit, okay?
“Solas talking to you?” Lucanis spoke up.
I didn’t realize that as we were walking down the streets of Treviso that Lucanis got really close to my ear, whispering into it.
I jolted and blushed from his closeness, tucking some stray hair behind my ear. The tips of my ears feeling hot.
“Y-yes.” I coughed and straightened up, putting on my confident swagger. “A heated discussion, but it’s alright. I'd rather focus on the real world right now. You, especially, are something I’d rather focus on.~”
Lucanis seemed to look away, his face tilting down before facing forward, his thumbs tucked into his belt.
“I cannot be that interesting to you.” he said quietly.
“I’ll have to disagree with you, my friend. You are so handsome and mysterious, I just want to delve into your cavern of secrets.” I purred.
Lucanis only huffed and looked off to the side, walking alongside me. Some people walked by us and smiled. Some I winked at and even blew a kiss to. Some returned them as they walked on past. Others stopped to talk and flirt with us as we traveled into the busy shopping area in Treviso. However, One person stopped us in particular and motioned for us to come into a nearby alleyway and handed me a note. They were wearing dark garb and staying in the shadows, away from any light. The Antivan Crow symbol on the front of the note in fresh black ink.
“Contract.” They said delicately.
“Right now?” I huffed, annoyed.
“They will be in town for a few nights. Do not waste time, Demitrix.” They said, baring teeth. “You are still a Crow.”
Lucanis spoke up. “We will take it.”
The figure then nodded and left quickly. Leaving us to return to the light of the sidewalks lanterns.
“Look, I said no work. This is our rest night. We need a break.”
“I never said I’d do it right now.” Lucanis corrected, his eyes narrowing down at me. “I agreed to your ‘rest night’ and I am not properly dressed for a job. Let’s get this night over with and then I can work on it.”
I looked away, steeling myself against the sting of his words. I then let out a smile and looked at him.
“Whatever you want, Lucanis.”
Although he obviously didn’t see any negative expressions, something about my mannerisms and voice let slip that I was upset, because his eyes seemed to have softened. His body was not as tense as before. I saw his hand twitch but then balled up into a fist and looked forward walking.
“Come. Show me this bar we’re supposed to be going to.”
Shit. How could he tell? I must be slipping. Can't let him see that I was upset. Gotta show him I am unaffected. Focus, Demitrix.
I kept up my charm, pointing out the different places as we walked past.
“Well there's lots of fun little dives around here that could offer a ton of entertainment! This place over here-“
I stopped and turned, Lucanis gone from my side. A quick little search though was enough to see where he was.
Outside of a small library, Lucanis was peeking inside at a small figurine of what looked like a dragon sitting on a rock. I walked over softly to see that the label said “Wyvern”.
“You like Dragons?” I asked gently.
“I love wyverns.” He said with a smile.
Cute.
He then frowned looking at the statue.
“You’re frowning.”
“Because that's a dragon figurine.”
“So?”
“It’s not a wyvern. They don’t even look similar.”
Lucaniss hands itched for a moment. He looked like he really didn’t like that label, almost painful for him to see it. I really wanted to make him happy tonight, and I tended to go against my better judgment anyway. I started running into the alleyway right next to the building, a concerned Lucanis following after me.
“Demitrix?!” He yelled following after me. “What are you doing? The bars are-“
“We should fix that label.” I said with a smirk looking for a backdoor. “People are going to think that's a wyvern.”
“Some will, but it is clearly a Dragon. Wyverns don’t look like that. They have little webbed flaps that stick out from their joints that help them glide. They can't fully fly.”
“You really like wyverns.”
“I don’t like wyverns.” He turned to me with the most deadpan expression. “I LOVE wyverns.”
I did find a side door near the end of the building but it was locked.
“Damn. I didn’t bring my lockpicks.”
I looked up the building, and started to scale up the wall, grabbing onto jutted out parts of stone and rock. Lucanis started following after me, cursing under his breath.
“Demitrix! Meirda…” he sighed as I started climbing over the side onto the roof. “Is all this necessary?”
“Sí.” I shot back.
He then paused a moment before chuckling.
“Fine. Let's make it quick.”
We managed to climb up to the roof where we searched for a way in. Lucanis ended up finding an unlocked ceiling hatch and opened it up quietly.
“Quickly. Let's go.”
“How are we getting back out?”
“You’ll see. Go in.”
“I do love mysterious types. So exciting.” I purred.
I jumped down, staying still for a moment to let my eyes adjust to my surroundings. The light from the hatch shone down on me and cast a bit of light around the spot.
Definitely just a standard library after hours. The whole place smelled of old parchment and aged leather. No candles lit and no people around too. I listened for any noises that didn’t come from outside just to see if we were truly alone and once I determined that nobody was here, I signaled Lucanis to come down and he landed right next to me with feline grace.
“This is fun.” I whispered.
Lucanis then shushed me and started walking towards the front, crawling on his hands and knees to keep out of sight from the window.
I climbed up on a nearby bookcase and crouched on the top of it, watching Lucanis from afar. Even as he moved, he was as silent as a mouse. It was very impressive to watch him, especially from the back of him. Though, I need to determine if we could get back out easier with the hatch. I turned to look at the hatch and the height of the bookcases and hopped to the closest one nimbly, staying quiet. When I got back over to it, it looked a bit tall for us to leap back up to it and climb out. Just in case if we need a plan B, I decided to try and look for some lock picks to try and open the back door out of here. Sometimes, people DO have them just to make sure they can get into doors they accidentally lock themselves out of and with some luck, I was hoping I could find some.
I crawled back down and started up towards what I perceived as a counter and started sifting through as I got behind it, feeling for lock picks in the small cupboards.
As I searched, I suddenly felt a body press up against me from behind, pinning me to the cupboards and covering my mouth. I looked up to see Lucanis hunkering down with me, shushing me silently.
I blushed hard and my pants suddenly felt tighter, dirty thoughts filling my head.
“I hear something. Something down below.” He whispered in my ear.
I pulled my mouth away from his hand.
“Lucanis, You can't… just grab my mouth and… press up-“
He silenced me again with his hand, this time holding me tighter against his chest.
“Stop. Talking.”
I shuddered, feeling his hips against mine.
Yes sir~
A light suddenly appeared in the back of the library around the corner where we were hunkered down. A couple of figures walked past the counter with lanterns, wearing the cloaks and outfits of Venatori thugs.
I felt Lucanis’s grip on my mouth tightened, his eyes starting to flicker with purple light. His arm shook with anger. I shook my head to get him to notice me, to stop him from summoning spite, which seemed to work.
He slowly let go of me, and nodded towards them.
“They die.” He whispered softly.
“They die.” I nodded.
We both drew our daggers, sneaking out from behind the counter. Lucanis went to the left side of the library where I went to the right side, watching and following the Venatori nutcases like a wolf stalking its prey. Lucanis positioned himself on the opposite side of me as they searched, watching the two lackeys shine the lantern around, while we were easily avoiding the light.
“I know I heard something.” One of them said.
It was a maskless Venatori, their eyes darting around in fear.
“Why would anyone suspect us here? Or even break into a library? Look, there's obviously no one here, let’s just leave.”
Lucanis slipped some of the small knives into his hand, putting them between his fingers, ready to throw.
I started to move towards them but Lucanis saw me moving closer and put up a hand to get me to wait.
As they walked away from us, that's when he signaled for us to strike.
Lucanis quickly threw his blade into the back of the left one’s neck while I ran up and stuck one of my blades into the right one's back, twisting and covering his exposed mouth with my other hand. While Lucanis’s guy went down easily, the right one whirled around with the lantern, screaming into my hand and swung me around.
“Lucanis! Little help!” I yelled.
Lucanis ran over, ready to throw another knife but the guy reached back and threw me into Lucanis, both of us toppling onto the floor landing on top of each other.
The Venatori however, screamed, before falling over and dropping the lantern.
“Next time, sink your blade deeper!” Lucanis yelled.
“Thanks for the tip, Master Crow!” I yelled back.
We quickly got up, running to the shadows once more as two more came up and into the library, one obviously a mage and another a rogue. The rogue stepped in front of the mage, brandishing daggers, looking around. His eyes, darting around.
“Stay behind me, Sylvia. They are still here.” The rogue spoke quickly.
“They won't be hidden for long.“ Sylvia said.
She swung her staff as it glowed with greenish yellow light and all the candles and torches in the library flickered on with Veilfire.
Fuck.
The rogue saw me first and ran towards me, trying to dual strike me from the front but I brought up both my blades and parried. The hilts of our daggers catching and holding us there.
“You worthless little elf… I’ll cut off your ears and make you scream for death!” He snarled.
“Oh you Venatori really know how to talk dirty~” I purred back.
I shoved myself forward, to knock him off balance, knocking us both into the ground, and barely dodging a shot of lightning going past my head.
“Kill the damn elf!” Sylvia screamed.
I knew Lucanis could handle the mage, all I was worried about was killing this rogue. As we wrestled around on the ground. I ended up using one of my dirty tactics to place a well aimed knee to his crotch, which caused him to yell in agony and loosen his grip on me.
I took the moment to then quickly grab his throat while he remained on top of me, roll on top of him, and then bring my blade across his neck. Quickly, I got off of him before any blood began to spray on me.
Sylvia, however, had Lucanis pinned. She was aiming at Lucanis who was dodging behind the book cases as she fired lightning at him, getting closer and closer to hitting him.
Not thinking, I ran over and picked her up from behind, lifting her into the air to give Lucanis time to run in and finish her off.
I, however, forgot for a moment that she was a mage.
She grabbed my arms as I hoisted her into the air and shocked me good. A thousand pinpricks ran through my arms and into my chest, causing my whole body to feel like it was on fire from how strong the shock was, my body becoming numb and then paralyzed.
My head felt dizzy from the damage, making the room spin around me. I fell to the floor with a thud, dropping Sylvia as well and passing out.
When I came to, Lucanis was shaking me awake. His face splattered with blood.
“Demitrix?!” He gasped.
“Yeah…” I wheezed, my joints stiff for a moment. “I just needed a nap… Still alive…”
He laughed, sighing a breath of relief.
“Maker, you are an idiot.” He sighed, moving hair out of my face. “I thought you were dead!”
“What? Missed me already?” I flirted, winking up at him. “I could never leave you behind.”
His eyes got big, a bright flush spread across his face and then a softer smile appeared.
That's when he leaned down and kissed me deeply, his lips pressed hard against mine.
My whole body went stiff again. I could feel my face flush and my lips twitch. In my weakened state, I just easily melted back into his kiss. Not a care in my mind.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, and pulled him onto me, our shared kiss becoming more passionate and more crazed as my tongue wrapped around his.
He then reached up, grabbing at my scalp and gripping my roots, and pulled my head back. My neck became exposed to him and he quickly bit into it. Moaning longingly into my flesh.
“L-Lucanis…!” I cried out as I clawed into his back. “Maker, you’re going crazy… I love it!”
I arched my back as he bit harder, my heart racing in my chest.
This is really happening. It’s really happening. Lucanis is about to fuck me.
Before we got too wild, we heard knocking at the front door.
“This is the Antivan Guard! Open up this door! Or we will break it open!”
Lucanis quickly got off of me, pulling me up off the floor, motioning to the hatch. I nodded and climbed up the bookcase after him and watched him leap up the hatch and climb onto the roof. Just as I leaped and caught the edge of the hatch, the door started being kicked open.
I quickly scampered up onto the roof, and closed the latch quietly, before Lucanis and I took off, darting across the rooftops of Treviso and away from the sight of the guard.
We finally slowed down on a roof overlooking a market square. Both of us panting and then slowly started laughing.
“You… Moron! All that for a mislabeled dragon statue?” Lucanis struggled to get out.
A wild smile spread across his face.
“It looked like it really bothered you!” I chuckled, taking a deep breath. “I wanted to fix the problem.”
“You are sweet…” He said sheepishly.
“I know~ oh Lucanis… you have blood on you.”
I started to use my hand to wipe the blood from his face, but he grabbed my hand and gently held it there for a moment, almost like… he was enjoying it.
I blushed but didn’t move. I didn’t want him to let go of me, but I felt fear crawl up my spine from this new feeling… like butterflies in my stomach and I gently moved my hand.
“Lucanis…?”
He almost snapped back to reality so quickly, standing up, looking as poised as before. It was almost… disheartening? I almost felt disappointed? I pushed them down for the moment and looked up at him with a smile.
“Whats up, handsome?~”
Lucanis’s face blushed brightly but quickly looked away, clearing his throat.
“Well. Now that we’re out of that little bind.” He said, looking down at me. “Let’s…continue with our night.”

We climbed down from the roof we escaped to into a little hidden garden that was tucked away from the sight of the market down the street.
The Andraste’s Grace that was surrounding us in this garden was now blooming under the moonlit sky along with lots of Blood Lotus and Lilies. A large fountain bubbled water in the middle of the garden. Music floating along in the wind from the market's minstrels.
“Oh Andrastes Grace! What a beautiful flower.” I doted, touching the soft petals. “I didn't think I’d find them here, they’re naturally a wildflower.”
“You like that flower?” Lucanis asked curiously.
“It’s not my favorite but I do like it. It has a very clean smell...”
“I see.” Lucanis cleared his throat, making his way out towards a nearby gate. “What is your favorite flower then?”
I followed after him but didn't answer. I was always nervous sharing THAT kind of personal information with others. Sharing ANY kind of personal information. It could lead to a messy road and could lead me into a trap later. Survival was always a must for me.
Still. His eyes looked at me so genuinely, and I felt my resolve weaken. Like any safeguards that I put up are starting to crumble to anything this man wants.
Especially now, after we shared that deep kiss in the library.
Lucanis looked slightly put off when I didn’t answer, turning his head away as we walked into the market together.
I sighed, my heart beating quicker.
“Felicidus Aria.”
“Bless you.” He smirked.
“Ass.” I laughed, punching his arm. “That's my favorite flower. Why you want to know that is beyond me but… It's a rare flower. Got that way from over foraging for the root. People use it to make Ambrosia, but I love it for its…symbol.”
“Its symbol?” Lucanis tilted his head.
“It’s also called the Silent Plains Rose. My clan used to move through the Silent Plains as we traveled back and forth in between Tevinter and Nevarra, hoping to spot one as we traveled through. We considered it lucky. That our journey was blessed somehow.”
“You said you are from Antiva. That Antiva is your home. You never mentioned you were part of a clan.” Lucanis noted.
“Two things can be true at the same time, Lucanis.”
“Is your clan-“
“No. I dont think they’re gone. I hope so, at least. It’s been twelve years since I saw them.”
My mind wandered a bit to that little Dalish boy fighting his fellow friends with wooden swords and listening to his Hahren tell stories around the campfire. How innocent and happy he was. How unaware. I wondered. Who would he be if he didn’t stray…?
“If you don’t mind me asking, what happened?” Lucanis gently prodded.
“Does it matter?”
Lucanis took a minute, pausing to look around us. He then pulled me over to a spot by a wall not occupied by people or a vendor and leaned against the wall with me.
“I just wish to know more about you. You know much about me, but…” Lucanis trailed off, trying to find the words again. “You yourself are mysterious. I also figured you didn’t want to talk with people moving around you.”
“Mystery is hot~”
“So I’ve been told.” He said slyly, the corner of his lip curling into a smile. “You’re also avoiding the question. If you don’t wish to talk about it-“
“Fine! Fine. You might as well know a little bit. I better hear about your tragic backstory as well, Lucanis. I’ll make sure to interrogate you as well for your favorite things.” I chuckled.
He only chuckled back, now watching me with soft but focused eyes.
I adjusted, letting the memory of the events come back to me. All of it still so clear in my head.
“I… I was abducted. When I was 14, I strayed too far from camp. I was training with my bow and got lost. I wandered until evening, finding a group of humans. I went to them for help, going against the teachings of my Hahren. I just wanted to go back home and thought maybe… They could help me find a clue of where they were. They took me instead. Tevinter slavers. They traveled with me and a few other prisoners until they needed to make a supply run in Antiva. It was there where I finally got loose and ran for it through the streets of Antiva City. I ran into a passing Antivan Crow with the slaver hot on my trail. In a last moment of desperation, I pulled the knife from the Crows belt before he could stop me and when the slaver grabbed me, I plunged the knife into his throat. I was told that I kept stabbing until the Antivan Crow stopped me.”
“That's how you became an Antivan Crow.” Lucanis said slowly.
“Yeah. Twelve years later, here we are.” I said as I took a bow. “Now you know my story.”
Lucanis frowned, his eyes towards the crowd for a minute, deep in thought. He then turned to me.
“Thank you for telling me. It probably wasn’t easy.”
“No, but you asked.”
He smiled at me, his hair flowing down his shoulder.
I blushed as he smiled and stammered as I quickly walked into the crowd.
“C-Come, let’s have some fun! You still craving that coffee?” I asked hurriedly.
Lucanis seemed to perk up a bit, his eyes softening. Almost looked desperate.
“Badly.”
“Let’s go find some. It’s still early in the night.”
————————————————
We took off, walking around the busy streets to find a small late night coffee bar.
People inside were drinking, loudly singing and dancing, and even some sex workers were sitting on some people's laps, trying to seduce their way to coin.
Ah, home. I love it.
However, Lucanis looked extremely uncomfortable. He sat down at the bar and looked around, closing his eyes for a second. He took a deep breath and seemed like he was… listening? After a minute of him doing that, he seemed to calm a bit, and then looked at me.
“What?”
“You okay?” I chuckled.
“Yes, just… getting my bearings.” He said, yawning.
“If this is too much-“
“No. I WANT to be here. I need coffee or I am not going to be a very pleasant person to be around.”
I laughed and walked over to the bar, sitting on a stool.
“Let’s get you your fix.”
The barista looked back at us, a pretty Antivan girl with warm earthy skin and long, wavy dark brown hair. Her eyes, deep pools of amber. Her smile appeared and she walked over to us.
“How can I help, gentlemen?”
“Hello gorgeous-“
“Two caffe, please. Two for him as well.” Lucanis interrupted.
I stared at him as the girl chuckled and walked away.
“Right away.”
He looked at me with a confused face, his eyebrow going up.
“What was that?” I asked.
“What was what?” He shot back.
“The complete lack of charm? The interrupting??”
“I want my coffee, I do not want to waste time flirting with the barista. I am already very close to murdering the man in the back corner of the room, smacking his lips as he’s eating.” Lucanis ranted.
He then looked like he had seen a ghost and pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance.
“Oh Meirda… I had this same conversation with Illario in a place like this.”
“Your cousin, right?”
“Sí. My cousin.”
“I see. You sound fond and… not fond of him.”
“It’s complicated.”
“Tell me about it.” I leaned in.
“Another time. Perhaps in private. Suffice it to say that my cousin… acts like you a bit. Far more skilled though.” He said cheekily.
“Far more skilled?! Fenhedis- How is he more skilled than I?” I huffed.
“First of all, he actually can kill a guy in one stab.”
“Oh come on! I am an archer! I’m much better with arrows. Trust me, my master gave up on me using daggers.”
“All I am hearing is excuses.” He sang.
“Fine. You teach me then.” I spat back.
The barista came over with our cups, placing them down for us and smiling at me.
“Drink up, signori”
“Grazie, signora.” I purred at her.
I then turned to Lucanis who was already sipping his drink, his face showing mass amounts of elation and comfort after the first sip.
I looked around at everyone having fun and dancing, and then looked back at Lucanis. His eyes shining in the candle light, his hair shimmering and his skin glowing. He seems to have settled in nice for a moment. Like his whole form changed just from a sip of coffee.
Fair though.
Never get between an Antivan and their coffee.
Though I did think about how uncomfortable he was walking in. Being surrounded by people. It must’ve been harder than ever for him to be social after being locked away and tortured for a year.
I just hoped I wasn’t forcing him to be uncomfortable. I just wanted him to be happy. To have fun and just relax.
Wait, why? Why do I care so much about HIS happiness? Why is that the only thing on my mind? I wasn't this way with Davrin. Or Taash.
Why is Lucanis’s happiness really important to me?
A hand abruptly grabbed onto my shoulder and a human man turned me around in my stool to face him, pushing himself in between my legs.
“Well hello there, pretty lady~ Couldn’t help but notice you looked a little lost in thought. Howz about you and I spend the evening together, ey? Get your mind off whatevas gotch you down. Whatdaya say?~”
I chuckled, playing cute.
Don’t punch him. Don’t punch him.
“Oh my! So forward! I don't know…” I giggled.
If he thinks I’m a woman, I am not going to argue with him. I don’t know if he knows his own name with how much beer is on his breath. I just don’t want another fight to break out.
Lucanis got up from his chair, and pushed himself between the man and I, staring the man down with a very intense and sharp look.
“I am afraid they are with me tonight, signore.”
The guy stumbled back a bit, looking Lucanis up and down.
“Who ere you, then? Huh? Some well dressed noble twat not fully off of mommas tit? The lady-“
“Leave them alone. You’ve had enough to drink and they are not interested. Just step away from them.”
“Luca, it’s alright.” I called out, my pants getting tight again watching Lucanis defend me. “I am not worth getting into a fight over.”
“You heard the whore. Get outta my way-“
Lucanis swiftly brought his daggers out and criss crossed them up to the man’s neck, keeping him in place.
“Leave. Last warning.”
The man stood there for a moment before backing away into the crowd and spitting at Lucanis’s feet.
“Whatever. Ere’s Plenty of other whores around!” He sang out.
Lucanis then turned towards me with a confused look.
“Luca?” He asked.
I jolted, slowly feeling hot with embarrassment.
“Uh, shit. It’s… a nickname. Your name just shortened.”
He sheathed his daggers, then his eyes looked down at my lap.
“Why are you…?” He trailed off.
“Why am I…?” I looked down and immediately crossed my leg over my other. “No reason!”
Lucanis laughed a bit but said nothing more on it, sitting back down at the bar.
“You didn’t need to threaten him. I can handle myself just fine. It’s not the first time I’ve used my body to avoid trouble.”
“Why? You may not be skilled with your daggers, but you can still use them to defend yourself.”
“I don’t just do it for that. I do it for fun~ To get close to a contract. To avoid trouble.” I began, sipping my coffee. “I am rather skilled at it.”
“If it works for you. I just… didn’t like the way he was touching you.”
“Why? I am sure you’ve seen worse with Illario if he’s like me.”
“Much worse.” He laughed, turning towards the counter again. “I don’t know why I didn’t like it. It just felt wrong.”
“Felt wrong? Are you alright?” I asked, now concerned.
“I…I don’t know. I feel different right now. Somehow.”
I then thought about the kiss. How he hugged my body close to his. How he gripped my hair. I rubbed the spot on my neck where he had bitten into, Feeling a tender area. Likely bruised.
“I think you marked me.” I chuckled.
“What?” He said looking over and coughed in surprise. “Ah. That.”
“Are we really wanting to avoid this conversation? Things got pretty… steamy in the library.”
Lucanis stayed quiet, staring into his coffee cup intensely. His eyes darted around, as if trying to find answers in the cup or on the bar.
“I… I thought you were gone.”
“So? I woke up.”
“You were out for 3 minutes.”
“That’s it?” I joked, looking at my nails. “I must be getting better at waking up. Last time I was knocked out was for 5 minutes and that-“
“That isn’t funny.” Lucanis said sharply.
I closed my mouth. Putting my hands in my lap slowly, I was now looking over at him.
“I… I was worried. Very worried that I would never get to… hear you again. I don’t know why that bothered me so much! I mean, I was about to start dragging you out of there to take you back to the Lighthouse. To get help. Until you started stirring.” Lucanis said strained.
“Luca…”
“And then when you awoke I just… reacted. I was relieved and then you smiled and I just…”
I felt the blood rush to my face, the urge to smile was rising and rising fast.
He… doesn’t know why he’s acting like this either.
“Kissed me.” I finished.
“When I started, I just couldn’t stop. Every impulse, every part of my upbringing told me to stop but I just couldn’t.”
I scooted closer to him, putting my hand on his back.
“You really… you really felt that way?” I smiled.
Why did that make my heart race?
“Yes… After that, all I… I wanted… The noises you made when I bit you were...” Lucanis chuckled softly, struggling with his words. “It was intoxicating…”
Our eyes locked. His dark eyes were almost lighter looking into mine. A color of dark chocolate brown colors, with hints of purple in the iris. His lips were now very close to mine.
“Intoxicating? You sounded like you really enjoyed them. I heard you moan as well.” I cooed.
I stared at his lusciously thick lips, putting my hand on his thigh. His body reacted by shuddering. I watched his throat gulp and looked into his eyes again. His breathing was getting quicker.
“I was about to do something crazy…”
“Kind of want you do something crazy…~”
The barista started ringing a cowbell.
“Last call! After you’re done here, go find an actual bar to drink your sorrows away!”
I groaned a bit, looking over at Lucanis who moved away quickly, gulping down the rest of his coffee.
“Come on, Demitrix. Let’s… go find something else to do, I guess.”
I sighed and hopped off the chair.
“Are you sure? You looked tense the entire time we were in here.”
Lucanis just scoffed.
“I am always tense.”
“Still, I don't want-“
“I just want to do whatever you decide. Name a place and we will go there.” He interrupted.
Think, Demitrix. Think. What would be fun for both of us to do together? What would be familiar for Lucanis?
I suddenly had an idea. A smile curling on my lips.
“I have an idea. Two things need to happen first.”
“What needs to happen?” Lucanis urged.
“We need a change of clothes, and I need my bow.”
“Your bow? A change of clothes? Why?”
“Well, the reason why depends.” I smiled coyly.
“On?”
“You still got that contract on you~?” I purred.
“Of course?”
His face lit up with realization.
“Well. Let’s fulfill it.~”
Chapter 3
Contains: Hired Killing, Gift Giving, Closet, Dry Humping, Confessed Feelings, Tense Emotional Moments, Danger Kink Implied, Provocative Teasing, LOTS of Sexual Tension, Playful Arguing, Combat, and a Teaching Moment.
After sneaking in and out of the Lighthouse to grab our gear, Lucanis and I ran across the roofs of Treviso towards our target’s destination.
I was hopping and flipping over alleyways, laughing and feeling the wind on my face as we kept hopping past each other.
I haven’t felt so free in months, even Lucanis looked like he was more comfortable. More mobile and agile, though his gaze fell on me often as I watched him. A smile appeared every time I caught his sight.
We both rolled onto a roof, panting a bit. I took the moment to stretch and fix my crow mask on my face.
“Were you serious about that dagger training?” Lucanis asked.
“If you don’t think I am a lost cause. I am up for a bit of knowledge.” I chuckled.
“You’re not a lost cause yet.” He smirked, motioning to his feet. “Come here.”
I froze when he commanded me like that and I walked over to him, looking confused.
“What's going on?” I asked nervously.
“Take out your daggers.”
I watched him, slowly taking them out of their holsters and holding them firmly.
“Right now?”
“You need to learn someday.”
He stepped closer to me, getting behind me, whispering into my ear in a dark tone.
“You have a lot of strength as an archer so use that to your advantage. With a bow, it’s easy to make quick, quiet and non-messy kills if you are accurate. With a dagger, it’s more personal. More close. Precision and speed is needed If you want quick and clean kills. Strength as well if you need to pierce them deep.
Don’t get hard. Don’t get hard. Don’t get hard.
“Y-yeah? Okay. So.. How do I apply that?” I stuttered.
He took one of my wrists, and brought my dagger up to my neck gently.
“Slitting their throat is popular but it gets messy if you cut too deep.”
Ooooh, Maker. Grant me strength.
He then brought the tip of my dagger to the side of it, pointing it at the crook of my neck.
“Same if you were to sink your blade here.”
He glided around me to the front, and lifted my wrist to his chest, the knife pointing in the middle of his chest.
“Use your strength to plunge your knife into the chest, past the bone, and directly in the heart. If you aim lower, angle it so you push upwards into the heart.”
“Yes, sir~” I purred.
My mind was now swimming in his touch, my body getting hot. Thank the gods that this outfit hides boners really well. Though, it didn't stop my member from hurting as it pressed against the leather.
“Try to remember where bones are in the body and the vital points of striking are. These will be-“
He sighed and smiled at me, letting go of my wrist.
“You are getting distracted. Did you even listen to a word I said?” He lectured.
“Every word.” I smiled coyly.
“What did I say?” He asked, crossing his arms. “Tell me.”
I walked up to him with my hands behind my back, looking him in the eyes.
“Depends. If I can't remember, are you gonna touch me again?”
“You are… very forward.”
“So, I’ve been told.” I giggled, looking up at him, and getting closer to his face. “I love how gentle you are with me~”
“Demitrix…!” Lucanis stammered, his face filling with pink color, his eyes getting so big. “We… You…We have a job and you are…”
I pressed myself into him, my hands on his chest. His hands grabbed my wrists, but didn’t pull them off. His eyes danced and watched mine, looking pained but also wanting. I could feel his heartbeat quicken with mine.
“You are so cute when you are flustered~” I chuckled.
“I… wow… I well…Trix.. you and I…” He fumbled.
I suddenly became flushed. My heart was almost exploding in my chest.
“T-trix?” I gasped, looking up at him. “You… gave me a nickname…?”
“Y-yes…? You gave me one.” Lucanis said sheepishly.
“I… didn’t think you’d care enough to give me a nickname…”
“You cared to give me one.”
“I've… never been given one before…”
My heart beat faster, my mouth suddenly became dry. I became flushed when Spite popped out at that moment, growling.
“All this BLASTED dancing around. Are we murdering someone or are we fucking? If the body is not willing, the spirit is~”
“I thought I told you-“ I started scolding.
Lucanis interrupted.
“Trix, Ignore him. Let’s go.” Lucanis said curtly.
He started running, jumping onto the next roof and making his way back to the target. Spite disappearing with a satisfied grin.
I felt my chest tighten, watching him for a moment before running after him.
He actually cares? No… He can’t. He doesn't. But then, why do I hope?! Why do I hope he cares about me? I am not a… I am a tool. A weapon.
He cannot love a tool. I am… nothing to him.
Why does that thought hurt?
As we neared the inn the target was staying at, Lucanis and I hunkered down. I pulled out the contract details from my bag, reading them over again.
“Third floor Suite. Minimal Guards. Balcony. Lord Amadeus Baratani.”
Lucanis and I peeked up at a building in the distance. A tall tan stone laden building sat in the middle of a nicer district in Treviso. Lit lanterns decorated the sidewalks below, and just the details stated, a balcony at the third level. A guard standing at the railing, overlooking the walled off garden of the inn. No heavy armor. Just plain leather.
Lucanis chuckled.
“The guard. At the balcony. If he drops on the balcony, he won't make much noise. You should do some work finally. Show me how good of an archer you say you are.” He teased me.
Oh good, he’s back to bullying me.
I notched an arrow onto my bow and pulled back, using the wind as a guide for where my arrow would go and how much resistance it would have.
“My archery skills-“ I started to say as I shot my arrow. “Are never in question.”
The arrow flew off and as I predicted, curved through the air, sinking into the side of the guard’s head, making him drop onto the balcony floor.
Lucanis nodded and hurried to look over the side, checking for witnesses before we started hopping the roofs. I followed Lucanis so that I knew where to step until we reached the hotel's building.
“Those are some smooth walls. I think I have some pitons.” I chirped.
“Wait. Let’s avoid using the ground. Let’s use a hook.”
“You think you can get it to latch onto the railing without it scraping the floor of the balcony? Be my guest.”
He stared at me and then dug through my bag, grabbing the rope with a hook attached, and walked close to the edge of the roof. He swung the hook, still scanning for people below and then tossed it towards the balcony. While it was flying over the balcony, he yanked it midair and managed to hook it on the top of the railing without it scraping across something. He then turned and looked at me with a very smug look.
“You’re kidding me.” I huffed.
“That. Is what I mean when I think ‘nice and quiet’”
“Shut up. That wasn’t my fault, sir. We still got the job done in the end!”
He shook his head, sighing.
“Amateur. Get over here and hold on.”
I walked over and held onto him, secretly taking in his scent. We both then ran off the edge, swinging with Lucanis holding onto the rope. As the swinging gently stopped, we started hanging underneath the balcony. He looked down at me and nodded upwards to tell me to climb. I nodded back to him and climbed up him and then up the rope. Lucanis climbing up after me.
I crouched down low as he came up and slowly opened the door to the suite to peek in.
Inside, I saw a darkened sitting room. A door leading into the hotel and another door leading to what I assumed to be a bedroom.
“It’s clear. No one is inside right now.”
Lucanis had placed the body against the railing of the balcony to make it look like someone just sitting, with their legs dangling between the supports.
“Ooh, that's clever.”
“I had to break the arrow you shot.”
“Why?”
“Too much blood would come out. People down below would notice the dripping.”
“Fair.”
I opened the door and walked in, listening closely as we explored inside. After giving my eyes a moment to adjust to the dark, I started noticing details of the sitting room. A thin but tall empty bureau sat next to a fireplace that had two comfy chairs sitting in front of it. A small end table sat between the chairs, holding a bottle of, what looked to be, red wine.
The walls were decorated with paintings that looked to be of the Antivan countryside. A table that sat under a large mirror by the door to the hotel had papers scattered on it.
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Lucanis peek into the bedroom, going in and shifting something around as he went in, but then he darted away from the door, over to me.
“People are coming. I hear them walking this way.” He spoke quietly.
“Quick, the bureau!”
I opened the door and climbed into it with him. Lucanis stood behind me as I squeezed in, closing the doors behind us.
A group of three people walked in, as I peaked out of a crack in the door. A guard who looked like he was from the Anderfels, our Target Amadeus, and a proactively dressed woman. Either, his wife, a lover, or a sex worker by the way she was tugging at his belt and giggling.
“Mhhhh, so frisky! Eres? Stay by the door outside.” Commanded Amadeus.
Eres nodded and left the room, leaving them in the room.
“What is happening?” Lucanis whispered as softly as he could.
“Our target is in the living room. However, there's a woman with him. A lover.”
I felt Lucanis keep adjusting behind me.
“Wonderful.”
Dirty thoughts started to enter my mind as I felt his hips brush up against my ass. As I watched outside to see if there was an opening, I pushed my hips into Lucanis.
“Demitrix… What are you doing?” Lucanis asked through his teeth.
“Waiting for an opening~ Shush.”
“Demitrix, we are… going to get… caught.”
I felt him shudder, then his hands grabbed my hips and…something started poking me.
I purred. “Is that your dagger or are you just happy to see me?”
“You’re going to feel my dagger in your back if you don’t stop talking. You did this.” He hissed.
“If you want-“
“We are on a mission. Focus.” He commanded sharply.
“Fine.”
I huffed, and watched outside. Amadeus and his lover were now fully naked in the sitting room, his lover sitting on his lap as he sat in one of the chairs, their lips locked together.
Gods, I wish that were me right now.
As she lowered herself to her knees, I felt Lucanis start to rub up against me, humping at me.
“Lucanis, are you-“
“Not. A word.” He huffed softly.
I pressed my hands on the sides of the bureau to keep myself from getting pushed on the door, spreading my legs a bit more for him.
“Lucanisss…~”
“Please… don’t say my name like that… I can't focus and you are just…teasing me.”
“I love seeing you flustered~”
He then grabbed a fistful of my hair and pulled me back, forcing my hips against his. His mouth right next to my ear.
I tried so hard not to moan when he pulled my hair but any noise I did make was covered up by Amadeus’s moan thankfully.
“Are you crazy?! They could have heard me!” I whispered, angrily.
He didn’t respond. He started biting onto my ear and I shuddered hard, squeezing my legs together.
“No… L-Lucanis… Not… Not my ears…” I whimpered.
I tried to calm my breathing, watching the crack in the door, but my mind was quickly melting.
Lucanis’s hands were exploring my body, feeling my chest and my hips, then moving down to my thighs where he dragged them up again to feel my bulge that was being painfully compressed by my pants.
“That feels like it’s painful.” He said, whispering in my ear smugly.
I covered my mouth to not moan, his touch felt so gentle yet…commanding. His fingers gliding over the curve of my member made me want to lose my mind from the pleasure. My ears were hot from the embarrassment of him seeing me like this.
“I wonder if you’d allow me to release it.”
My heart was beating so loudly, and my stomach was tying itself into knots. My body was shaking as his hand started to slip into my pants.
“Lucanis…You’re… Please… I… “
I spied the girl getting up and quickly leaving to go into the bedroom and my brain swam up through the fog.
“The girl left!” I whispered sharply.
Lucanis couldn’t get out of that bureau fast enough.
He shoved me out, making me fall flat on my face, and when I scrambled up out of my daze. Amadeus has a knife stuck in his forehead.
“Contract Fulfilled.”
“Are you fuc-“ I began to yell before he scooped me up and pushed me towards the balcony.
The door of the bedroom burst open and a scream was heard behind us as we ran. The hotel door after that.
Lucanis leaped from the balcony onto the roof where we stood before, and I after him. I rolled across the roof as he did and quickly ran to the closest side of the roof and climbed down out of sight before anyone could spot me. The angry voice of an Anderfel booming out of the balcony above.
“Find them! Find the killers now!”
———————————
After running for a bit, I caught up with Lucanis shortly after, finding him in a small walkway right next to the now closed coffee shop we were at before. He leaned against the wall, keeping his eyes to the ground. His hair cascading down his shoulder pads. The shadows were just barely covering him.
“Luca!” I yelled as I ran up. “I finally found you.”
He turned, looking over at me, before starting to smile.
“That was bracing. Glad to see you are alright as well.”
I then punched his arm. He had no reaction to it.
“You shoved me on the ground, you ass!”
“You were in the way.” He shrugged.
“You didn’t WARN me.”
“You are alive, no?”
I sighed but could only laugh. He then started to laugh as well until we both were laughing in the walkway.
“Ahhh! That was fun! I have never had fun on contracts before!”
“It was very entertaining. Especially to have someone there with me. Although.” He then smacked me upside the head. “What in the Makers name is wrong with you?!”
“Ow! What in the Beyond is wrong with you?!” I yelled back.
“You were rubbing your ass against me in the closet! On purpose! You almost got us caught, I couldn’t even focus, and then you almost crushed my gift I was going to give you!” He scolded harshly.
“Oh, Don't act like-“
The words got caught in my throat.
“G-gift?” I asked, shocked.
“No. I don’t think I should give it to you now.” Lucanis said teasingly, crossing his arms and turning away from me. “You are being rude to me.”
“W-wait! I didn’t know you got me a gift! What is it?! N-no one’s ever given me a gift before! Not just for… for nothing!”
Lucanis reached into a satchel on his belt and held out a lotus-looking flower. A scent of rose wafting to me.
“Wait… Is this…? It can't be. Where did you find a-“ I stammered.
“In the contract’s suite. It was sitting on a dresser by the door of the bedroom. I snatched it before I heard them coming.”
“How did you know this was MY flower?”
“I smelled roses but the only flower I saw was this one. I just assumed that it was your favorite flower from there.” Lucanis looked away for a moment.
“Lucanis… I… “
I stared at the flower, a beautifully kept Silent plains Rose. A symbol of luck. Of blessed travel.
He remembered that I love this flower.
He remembered my favorite flower.
Lucanis then grabbed it from my hand, and placed it gently in my hair.
“I think it suits you.” He said affectionately.
Oh fuck. Oh no.
“Lucanis, why are you giving me this?” I asked, shaking a bit.
Please, Lucanis. Don’t. Don’t say it. Don’t care about me. Don’t make me a person.
“I don’t know… I wanted to. It’s your favorite. I wanted to make you happy.” He said nervously.
“Lucanis…” I touched the flower, my heart racing.
“I just… I did some thinking while we’re getting ready at the lighthouse.”
Luca, please!
“Between that man touching you. What happened at the library. The roof. The thought of someone else touching you, holding you, even… even kissing you. It scared me. I didn’t like it. I have never been this… vulnerable with someone before. I never thought I’d find myself falling-“
“Don’t.”
The silence that pierced the air. That overtook this moment. It was so dense, so heavy, almost enough to crush us. I was a coward. I couldn’t look Lucanis in the eyes as I tore at his heart.
“You don’t want me. I am… a tool. A symbol. I was never meant to be a person. Never meant to be loved. You can't love a tool. I am a tool that was meant to be discarded or put away after you are done with it. If we were to have sex, you’re just supposed to discard me after. These feelings you have-”
“Do not dare tell me what I feel is not real.” Lucanis warned in a dark tone. “How dare you look into my face and tell me you aren't a person! That you are meant to be TOSSED AWAY! I grew up with that mindset. Yet I FEEL. I feel everything around you! To me, you are not some weapon-“
“I am, Lucanis! I am an image of confidence and swagger! A weapon and a selling point. You cannot love a-“
“I don’t love images. I do not love tools.I love A PERSON. ONE person.”
“Don’t make me a person! Don’t make me real! If I become real, then you become real. Which means these feelings are real, and then that means losing you is real! I can not...” I trailed off.
I will not lose someone I loved again.
“Look me in the eyes. Look me in the eyes and say you don’t care about me. Tell me you don’t feel the same way about me. Tell me that you don't love me, and we will never talk about this again. We will pretend that every moment we shared tonight didn’t happen.” Lucanis said with a shaky voice. “Tell me right now. ‘I don’t love you, Lucanis Dellamorte.’ Say it.”
I looked him in the eyes, and my heart sank. His eyes were wide open, big and full of tears. As he looked down at me, I could see his lip even quivering a bit.
Lucanis Dellamorte, a Master Antivan Crow, was opening himself up to me. Crying in front of me. His heart laid bare in front of me. I was seeing his heart for the first time, and he was waiting for a dagger to be plunged into it.
“I have never been this… vulnerable with someone before…”
All I wanted was for him to be happy, but he was perfectly happy being around me. Just being beside me. Laughing, talking, and working alongside me. I didn’t even need to try.
Being with me made him happy.
“I… I…”
Spite came out, laughing and grabbing at Lucanis’s shoulders.
“Do it! BREAK HIM. BREAK HIS HEART.”
I started to cry. I tried to hold them back, but I couldn’t any longer. That wall, that once stood so strong, now toppled to the ground in front of Lucanis. I couldn’t become another demon that stuck to Lucanis.
“I can’t, Luca!” I cried, covering my face. “I love you… Spite and all. You protected me, fought next to me, cared about me more than anyone has for a long time. You made me want to be a person to you, and that scared me. I thought I was protecting you by trying to push you away but I…I can’t break your heart. I’m sorry, Luca. Please. Forgive me. Forgive-“
He pulled me into his arms, his hug squeezing me tightly.
I froze, tears falling from my face. Feeling his comfort and just letting myself just feel his hug.
Feel him.
His hug felt so warm and comfortable. Like drinking spiced wine on a cool autumn night under a thick blanket. The safety of it. It made me never want to leave it. His scent. His sweet, musky leather scent filled my nostrils.
“I love you, Luca…”
“I love you too, Trix.”
“Please. Don’t let go. I want to stay like this forever.” I said as I gripped onto his back. “I can’t even remember when I was last hugged like this.”
“Then I will hold you. For as long as you want. For as long as you need.”
“We’ll be here all night, then.” I chuckled.
“Then we should go back to the Lighthouse. We will-“
I stopped him. Spite now missing from Lucanis’s side.
“What if someone sees us going up to my room?” I asked, pulling on his jacket. “What do we… tell them?”
“We tell them we’re going up to your room to fuck. They’ll leave us alone.”
I froze. He stared at me. He raised his eyebrow in confusion. I blinked at him.
“Are we?” I asked.
“Are we?” Lucanis repeated back.
“Are you… comfortable with that?” I urged.
Lucanis gently grabbed my face, looking into my eyes.
“Trix… After I heard the noises you made when I bit the tip of your ear… I want nothing more than to hear you whine like that again.” Lucanis purred deeply.
I blinked slowly. My brain was just slowly filling with depraved, horny thoughts.
Thoughts that I wanted to act on with my first lover.
“Let’s go home then.”

I pushed my head through the mirror to peek into the Lighthouse. The halls were empty and not a sound was heard except for the low hum of The Eluvian I was standing in.
I pulled my head back out, looking back at Lucanis.
“It’s all clear. Let’s hurry though. I’d rather just… get straight to my room.”
“You are very eager. Even after that heavy conversation. Are you… sure?” Lucanis asked, concerned.
“Luca, I’m… I want you. I have been pining for you for a while… Trust me when I say… Being with you will make me feel so much more light. What about you?”
“I will… admit. I am feeling very nervous. Let’s… talk more in your room.” Lucanis said sheepishly.
I snuck on through the mirror with Lucanis, staying close to him, and as soon as he was through, started sneaking up the stairs.
It wasn’t long before we heard footsteps walking along the upper level, followed by the voices of Emmerich and Davrin. Both Lucanis and I hugged the wall of the stairs to avoid being seen. Listening to them.
“I am sure they’re fine. Both very capable rogues.” Davrin stated.
“Yet you worry, my friend.” Emmerich stated back.
“They’re still not back yet. I just checked both their rooms.”
Aww. Davrin. He does care.
“Perhaps they had found… another room for the night?”
“You mean…? Lucanis seems too reserved. Too in his own head. I don’t think he would go for it even if he had the chance to.”
Lucanis slowly turned to look at me. His eyes flashing purple again. Before I could say anything, he grabbed my hand and then pulled me up the stairs with him, walking loudly now.
“Ngh! Lucanis?!” I gasped.
Emmerich and Davrin started looking over, Davrin greeting with a smile.
“Oh hey! Wasn’t expecting you two! How was your-“
“We will talk later. Demitrix and I need to FUCK right now.” Lucanis said so matter of fact, pulling me up the next set of stairs. “We will see you both in the morning. Come on, Demitrix.”
I just broke. Speechless. Emmerich and Davrin both had shocked expressions and just froze in place as they watched Lucanis drag me off.
“Have a good night, guyyysss….”I said, giggling.
Once he pulled me to the top of the stairs, he then pulled me over to my room, pushed me into it, and then closed the door behind him with a slam.
I stood in the middle of my messy room, my curtains were drawn, with soft candlelight surrounding us.
Lucanis’s demeanor changed. He looked around, walking towards my pile of books in the corner, and started nervously playing with his hands.
“You have… lots of books on animals.”
“I uh… love animals.” I said a chuckle.
“Favorite one?” he said quickly.
His breath seemed to quicken.
“I love foxes. Have a fondness for the dark silver ones -are you okay?” I asked, walking over to him and putting my hand on his arm. “You seemed so ready to do this around Davrin and Emmerich and now that we’re alone, you’re asking me what my favorite animal is? Are you stalling?”
“To be honest, it is an important question.”
“Luca. Come on, You weren’t like this in the library or in the bureau. You were so handsy and so ready to go. I felt it.”
“Those times, I wasn’t thinking. Now that we are truly alone, and my mind is clear, I am… unsure of what to do. I have never done this before.” He said quickly, turning his head. “This will be my first time.”
I paused.
“You mean… oh, Luca. It’s alright! I am a bit nervous too if that makes you feel better.”
“You are? How? You’ve done this countless times! You flirt and charm often and always know just what to say… How can someone like you be nervous during this?”
I smiled and grabbed his chin, turning him gently towards me.
“I am nervous because… this is my first time with someone I love. That I am… romantically involved with. Now, it’s even more nerve racking that you’re a virgin because I want to be amazing for your first time. Even though I am nervous, I… I look at you and I just want to be with you. To have you. To be one with you. We don’t have to do this but, if you insist we should, we will take it slow, okay? How about I let you explore me, huh? Get to know my body?”
His gaze toward me softened and he smiled, nodding.
I then walked to the middle of the room, and in front of him, removed all my gear, tossing it to the side. Turning away before pulling my top off, then slowly slipping my pants down, kicking them to the side with my boots.
I turned towards him and slowly removed my crow mask and undid my hair, letting it fall. Tossing the ribbon and mask to the side as well.
Lucanis’s eyes were big, covering his mouth with his gloved hand, keeping his arms crossed. His eyes danced around my body, almost like he was studying me and walked over.
“You are… very beautiful.”
“Thank you~” I purred back at him, feeling up his chest. “Now it’s your turn.”
I heard him gulp nervously but he nodded, kissing my forehead softly. He started to undo his crow head clasps in front of me before turning bright pink in the face.
“Could you… Could you turn around? I am… embarrassed.”
I smiled a bit, but turned, climbing into my bed and stretching along it.
As I did, I hoped that Lucanis was watching me and stretched like a cat, pushing my ass out into the air for him to see and spreading my legs.
“Mmmm…my bed always feels so comfy. Can’t wait for you to join me~”
I then heard the familiar sound of a belt and pants dropping as well as the sound of lots of knives dropping to the floor.
“Not a word, Trix.” Lucanis warned me from behind.
I laughed. “I didn’t even say anything, Luca.”
I then felt him climb into the bed, crawling over to me. I turned over and he was on his knees on the bed behind me, feeling my legs up. His body bore some scars here and there on his tanned Antivan skin. His chest, arms and stomach covered in thick, dark hair. His hypnotic dark brown eyes staring down at me with a nervous smile as he started to crawl on top of me.
I then felt his bare cock rub up against my thigh and my face grew hot.
“Wow… you feel… thick.” I gulped.
“Is that… good?” He said, embarrassed.
“Y-yes! I love the feeling of… being stretched open.” I chuckled, holding onto his arms. “It makes me feel so… dominated.”
Lucanis smiled down at me then turned a brighter pink.
“I’m… I’m going to touch you now. Okay?”
I giggled and laid back for him.
“Go right ahead, handsome~ Explore as much as you want. Do whatever you want to me. If you get too nervous, just let me know. We can stop whenever you want, okay?”
He nodded and took a deep breath before he began touching my face gently, running his fingers over my tattoo and following the curves. His fingers glided over to my neck next, going with the tattoo. His touch was so gentle yet the strokes felt so sensual and sexy. I was swimming in the sensation of it all, letting my body relax with it. I felt his fingers glide over my nipples and I left out a soft whine, the sensation making my body jolt and shudder.
He immediately did it again but faster and I gasped, making my legs squeeze together.
“You like that?” He said, now pinching them,
I gasped again and gripped the sheets under me.
“Y-yes…! I am extremely sensitive there! Ahh~ It feels good when someone plays with them… Try… Try using your mouth…~”
Obediently, he leaned his head down and licked at my nipple before starting to suck on it. Flicking the other one with his free hand.
I moaned loudly, my back arching slightly. My mind got foggy from swimming in his touch.
“Holy maker…! Okay… you’re learning fast…!” I said, panting a bit.
He seemed eager now, letting go and feeling my sides up and kissing down my body.
“I keep hearing your noises and… I want to make you make more sounds…” he purred.
Oh Creators, This man is going to DESTROY me.
He grabbed my legs and spread them open, my cock twitching with his suddenness, precum dripping down my cock.
“Lucanis! You’re being so bold! I didn’t think you’d-“
He then stopped looking up at me with big, worried eyes.
“Do you need me to stop?”
“Are you kidding?!” I yelled, my face flushed with heat. “Go crazy! Do whatever you want to me!”
Lucanis only darkly chuckled. Which made me shiver.
“You know… when I walked in on an orgy once, I remember someone doing something that intrigued me. Let me try it.”
“You walked in on an-“
He licked up the precum dripping from my cock and then took my cock into his mouth and started sucking me off.
I gasped out and gripped the sheets, my body twisting and contorting as he sucked. His tongue twisting around the head of my cock and then pushing against my cockhole.
“Lucanis! LUCANIS! Mi Amore! Mir Vhenan!” I screamed in pleasure.
My mind was now swimming in him, my voice nothing but whining and whimpering. I couldn’t contain myself anymore and I didn’t want to. There was no Veilguard, no Elven gods, No danger. Just Lucanis and I.
I started to scream louder, when I felt his fingers rubbing on my ass, trying to push into me.
“Ngh! Lucanis?!”
He plunged his fingers into me, curling them inside and moving them against my walls. Pulling them out and then pushing back in.
I started to drool, my eyes rolling back, feeling him exploring me. Shuddering as I felt his moans on my cock.
I felt my cock swell, my body starting to build up pleasure and I pulled at the sheets.
“Mi amore! MI AMORE! I am going to burst!”
He seemed confused for a moment before I screamed, my sperm starting to pump into his mouth.
He choked on it, then pulled off, sperm spraying all over his gorgeous face. Wiping some off with his fingers and spreading them out looking at it.
“You sprayed all over my face.” He said inquisitively.
“Sorry… I was… really excited.”
“Don’t be sorry.” He licked his lips, smirking. “You’re delicious. Very sticky and sweet. Like a glaze.”
I laid my head back, blood rushing to my cock again as he talked.
I am so in love with this man. He’s so cute. I’m going to do so many things to this man. Things that will make the Crows blush. He won’t be the same man that came into this room come morning.
I snapped out of it when I saw his hand waving in front of my face, and his concerned looking eyes watching me.
“Are you alright? I did good, right?” He asked eagerly.
“So good. Soooo good. In fact, I want to thank you for your efforts.~” I giggled.
I then pushed him on his back, crawling on top of him and the face he made…
He looked up at me with such nervous brown eyes. His hands gripping onto my biceps and his legs closed. His cock, however, was throbbing hard.
“Wait.. I’ve never… released before. I just.. could never relax… If I cum too fast, please don’t… don’t think little of me.”
Never released before?!
“Oh you poor pent up man… Oh, that thought makes me weak. Don’t worry. I won’t judge at all. I’m going to make sure you get the release you need.”
He nodded and then watched me as I grabbed his chin, moving his head to the side.
“I’m going to mark you now~”
I buried my face into the crook of his neck and sunk my teeth into his neck. His body reacted hard, his back arching and his hand gripping my hair by the roots but not pulling me off.
I sucked onto his skin, and I could feel him hold back a moan, but then he shuddered, letting out a long low groan. Holding onto me tight, he shook and said a tiny curse under his breath as I let go.
“There.~”
“Bastardo…” he said in a low growl.
I giggled mischievously and crawled down to his, kissing his chest and down his stomach as I went. Feeling every crease and muscle as I got between his legs to his thick, but flaccid cock.
“You poor thing… You must be aching here.” I purred, grabbing his balls. “I’ll help you relieve it.~”
He jolted and covered his face with his arm, his face turning red.
“Just… ahh…”
“Relax, mi amore. I’ll show you how.”
I grabbed his cock and dragged my tongue along the side of it. Licking it up, it starts to quickly rise in my hand.
As Lucanis started making loud groaning noises, I sucked onto his cock hole which made him jolt and arch his back.
“Fuck! Trix! Trix!”
I pulled off giggling, before taking him all the way down my throat, sucking on him as I bobbed my head up and down.
“Oh Maker… Oh Maker, Trix… your mouth is so warm and sopping wet…. Your throat is so tight….! Hhhaaa….”
His moans were turning me on so much, and just feeling his body shake under me made my head spin.
“Trix… Trix… Unnnffff Triiixxx….” he moaned.
I pulled off, jerking him off by my face and getting a breather.
“You're going to cum for me, love~? Are you going to cum for me?” I asked
I started to deep throat him and he let out a loud and long moaning noise, shaking hard.
“Oh fuck… Yes, mi amore! Yes yes! Trix! Trix!”
He grabbed my hair by the root and shoved me down as far as I could go before, forcing me to swallow him down as he shot into my throat.
“Stay. Down.” He growled at me.
My eyes rolled back as I choked on his sperm, trying my best to swallow it down, but it leaked out of my mouth, dripping onto my chin and then on the bed.
“Meirdaaa…” he gasped.
He let go and I gasped for air, coughing and gasping. Lucanis gently rubbed my back, obviously feeling bad for making me choke on him.
“Oh Trix, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to go so rough, my mind just… I wasn’t thinking…”
“Fuck me.”
“Pardon?”
I grabbed his shoulders and shook him, looking into his eyes.
“I want. You. To fuck me. HARD.”
I pulled away from him and pushed my face into the pillows, sticking my ass up at him.
“Please Lucanis, I need it! Please just… Fuck me until the sun rises and fill me up. Fill me up with your sperm. Make me messy~!” I begged.
I felt his hands grab my hips and then pin me down. I spread my legs so he’d have easy access to me and hugged a pillow, watching him. He started looking around for something.
“Do you have any oil? Something to make it easier for you and me?”
“I have body oil in my nightstand… It's just going to smell of roses, though.”
Lucanis crawled over to my nightstand and shifted around in the drawer, grabbing the little glass bottle and bringing it over.
He looked at it confused, and then dripped some of it on my hole and then on his cock.
“Okay. Are you ready?” He said, pushing his fingers inside of me, rubbing the oil around inside.
I moaned out, my mind wandering with the rose scent in the air, his fingers stirring me up.
“Y-yes! Fuck me… Fuck me, please…!” I moaned out to him, looking back at him. “Make me yours, Lucanis Dellamorte.”
He placed his cock at my hole, before slipping in with ease, using his fingers as guidance.
“Ahhhhh…~!” I moaned out.
Lucanis laid across my back, shuddering and groaning from his cock inside and my hole was getting stretched open from it.
“I’m… inside.” He gasped.
“Yep… You definitely are, mi amore~ Gods, your cock is so… girthy…thicccck….” I drooled.
Lucanis chuckled a bit, before relaxing into me, kissing my back.
“I’m going to start moving now. Okay…?”
“Okay… Don't be afraid to be rough.” I assured him.
Turns out I didn’t need to.
He started taking long deep strokes in and out of my hole. The oil made him extremely slick and hard for him to control how hard he was going. Or so I thought.
I started moaning out loudly, my pain slowly going towards pleasure. My emotions and hormones were going crazy.
“Mi Amore! Mi amore! oh gods! Oh gods, You are going so hard at the start! You’re going to ruin me!”
“Good… Good…” Lucanis moaned out.
“G-good?!”
He pulled my hair back slamming me deeply on his cock, my inside squeezing around him in a passionate mix of pain and pleasure.
He brought his mouth very close to my ear, growling in it.
“I want to ruin you. Break you. Make it so you recoil at the touch of another man other than my own. I love you, and want to make sure other men know it, too.”
I gasped, my cock throbbing hard at his possessiveness. I wanted him to do it. To fuck me. To have me. To love me. To ruin me. To build me up. As much as he fucking wanted to.
He will have nothing less than what he desires for the rest of his life.
He shoved my face into the bed and started ramming me harder, making me scream out his name. His nickname. I screamed out for him. He screamed out for me.
He flipped me over and hugged me tightly, pressing deeply inside. I could feel his balls pressing against my hole and pulsating with lust.
“I love you, Demitrix. I love you so much.” Lucanis moaned out as he humped into me. “I’ll protect you and love you!”
“I love you too, Lucanis! You’ll never be alone again! I’ll always be right beside you! Fill me up, love! Mir vhenan, fill me up!” I begged.
He kissed me deeply as he pressed all the way into me again, his cock pulsating inside as he started filling me up with sperm. His body was shaking as he came. I, with him. I felt my cock just coating him with sperm, his body becoming sticky on top of me.
I looked up into his eyes and for the first time since I’ve met him, I saw him simply glow. His smile was so soft and genuine. His eyes were so big and loving. He finally relaxed. With me.
“I love you, Lucanis….” I said, dreamily.
“I love you, Demitrix…” He panted.
————————————
“Good morning you two! You both are up super late!” Yelled Bellara.
Lucanis just moved past her into the kitchen.
“Coffee. Coffee. Coffeee…” He groaned.
I came up to her from behind him and smiled.
“He and I had a wild night last night while we were out in Treviso.” I whispered.
“Oh! Hungover?” She whispered back.
Davrin came into the dining room next, smirking.
“Hey Demitrix. Next time you and Lucanis decide to do some late night romping, try to remember that some people hear you.” He said with a smug look.
“Especially if they sleep right under your room.”
I coughed hard, Bellara stood shocked.
Lucanis came out holding a cup of coffee as chaos ensued with Bellara asking millions of questions, Davrin laughing and teasing me, and I trying to get them to quiet down.
I saw him sip and then smile at me.
“What a great night.” He smirked.

I sat there, blinking my eyes at him while I processed what he had just said to me.
He… wants to hunt me?
He cleared his throat suddenly and tried to let go of me, looking very embarrassed. Pink covering his cheeks and going across his nose.
“Nevermind. It was stupid. Forget I-“
“Wait! Hold on!” I laughed, grabbing his hands to keep them on my hips. “I was just not expecting you to ask for THAT. You are usually so… traditional! So when you asked for that, it… caught me off guard. May I ask what brought this on?”
“Later… If you do want this however, just say so… because I really need this right now.” He growled desperately.
“Mmm… What if I want to keep teasing you? Making you wait? What then, hm?” I giggled mischievously.
I bit my lip, watching him look me up and down. His hands squeezed my hips, his dark eyes dancing around my body. The tension was so tight between us and all I wanted him to do was cut it. Act on it. Tame the brat.
Gods, was I hungry for him… I am addicted to him, and I had no apologies for it. I'd be attached to his groin if I could.
His eyes stared into mine now as he grabbed my dress by the shoulders and yanked it down, exposing my whole chest to him.
I yelped in surprise but his arms were around me in a flash, standing up and picking me up under my arms. He pulled me closer to him and ran his tongue up my nipples as he held me up in the air, before locking his lips around one. I cried out as he started to suck on it, squirming in his hands, but he held on firmly to me. My loins were already aching and my cock was pressing on the panties I had on underneath my dress from all the pleasure. Warm lust started to fill my veins, and filled me with its sweet poison. I felt like I was in heaven and the Maker was holding me up in the air.
Or at least, I was until he threw me down in the sand. He stood over me. Panting. His eyes flashing purple like a feral warning. His posture made him look like a dangerous animal.
“Run. Run and hope you can outrun a wyvern or we will take our prize wherever we find you.”
I’m sorry… We? As in Lucanis and Spite??
I didn’t stay and find out what he meant. If Lucanis Dellamorte, the Demon of Vyrantium tells you to run, you run.
And I ran like my ass was on fire.
As an Antivan Crow, you learn how to blend in with the shadows. You learn how to sneak through houses and buildings like a ghost. You learn to be as quiet as a Chantry mouse, because if you are caught, you are dead. However, Right now? I was trying to hide from one of the best assassins in the Antivan Crows and I felt like my chances of survival were very slim.
As I ran around the corner of the beach, I spotted a gazebo surrounded by lanterns that hung from the roof, enveloping it in a soft purple glow. I almost ignored it completely but I saw there was a hole in the lattice fencing around the bottom of it. It looked like the hole was made by a fox or an animal of similar size at least. I lowered my dress to cover my tracks in the sand and squeezed right through, watching the outside from the darkest area under the gazebo.
The whole place was quiet. Just the sound of the water gently hitting the shore and my own heartbeat pounding in my chest. While I found this kind of fun, being hunted by Lucanis, even for fun, was nerve racking.
Lucanis was a skilled assassin with hundreds or more deaths under his belt and was famous for being the most deadly assassin in all of Antiva. His name alone was enough to strike fear into even the most arrogant hearts.
I shook my head and continued watching, the danger of the situation making my cock twitch hard with excitement. I winced with pain as I had to adjust on my belly because it was being pushed into the ground.
That's when I saw it. In the darkness nearby, A pair of purple eyes scanning the area I was in. Purple wings flexing and folding, as if displaying itself in its territory. I couldn’t tell who was really in control here, but as soon as the eyes and wings disappeared, I knew Lucanis was in control now. He then slipped into the darkness, not a sound was heard after that. I slowed my breathing and stayed deathly still. Watching the darkness for any sign of him, any sound.
Then. Footsteps, light as a feather. Right above me, walking on the gazebo floor. Heel. Then sole. Heel. Then sole.
He’s making noise, his footsteps are light, but I know him. Hes intentionally making noise. He knows I am nearby. He’s trying to scare me out.
I stayed still, listening to the noise and where it was on the gazebo. His footsteps moving to where it sounded like he was right above me now, so I shifted away from that spot, being as quiet as I could possibly be, using the sand to kind of buffer any noise I might make.
I heard him deeply sniff the air, and let out a deep and low sigh. Almost like a snarl. The floorboards started to creak, as if he was shifting his weight. Then nothing.
I stopped moving. My heart started beating faster and faster in my chest, and I started desperately looking around outside to see if he had moved on and even started shaking from the anticipation and fear.
There’s no way he moved on. There's no way. Did I really outsmart Lucanis? Did he actually move on?
I didn’t get a chance to finish that thought.
The lattice behind me suddenly tore open and I was dragged out by my hips, while I tried to desperately claw into the sand.
“WE FOUND YOU!” Growled Spite.
I shouted and struggled away from him, acting like scared prey. I saw the lust shift in his face, which told me that’s exactly what he wanted. Make him fight harder for his prize. If he wanted to hunt me, he was going to have to sink his teeth into me before I succumbed to him.
His eyes shifted to Lucanis’s and he grabbed my wrists pinning me down.
“You have been caught, my little fox.” He purred, leering down at me.
Oh gods, he remembered my favorite animal. Lucanis, don't do this to meeee… don't call me “fox.” I already love youuuu….
I wrapped my legs around him, and used my weight to roll him on his back, then pouncing off of him and taking off.
“You'll have to try harder than that, wyvern!”
I did not look back, but I could feel a sudden surge of energy explode behind me, and then quietness in the night.
FUCK.
I tried to look for anything to avoid him, something to hide in or escape him, but suddenly he shot down from the sky and pinned me down into the sand.
“Did you forget how fast Wyverns are, my dear fox? I remember telling you how quick they can be at catching prey.~” He purred.
“I won’t let you-”
He grabbed a fistful of my hair and pulled me up before biting into my neck, sucking on the skin hard. Growling as he bit me.
I gasped out in pleasure, my whole body shaking with such intense stimulation as he left his mark on me. My cock throbbing as I felt his growl vibrate on my neck.
“B-Bastardo…” I whimpered, still shuddering from feeling. “ Your family will see…”
“I would have gone easier but you ran again. I had to make sure to mark you, in case my prey escaped me again.” He growled softly, shoving my face into the ground by my hair. “Besides. Its also to warn my cousin not to fucking touch you.”
“Fuck… You’ve been… You’ve been studying up on some kinks, haven’t you…?” I panted, looking back at him. “No way I taught you that...”
“I asked Taash.” He smirked.
There’s no fucking way he asked Taash. He asked TAASH about kinks?!
“Now. I told you I was going to take my prize when and where I found you.” He began, as he took my dress and lifted it up. “And what a lovely prize it is. This dress does wonders on you, little fox~”
I felt his hands let go of my wrists, and start feeling my sides and gently gripping at my hips, his fingers slipping under the waist back and wrapping them around his fingers.
I blushed, shaking from his touch and even tried to adjust my legs. In response he rested his knees on the back of them, to keep me from moving. Then grabbed my hair again and wrapped it in his fist, yanking it back.
“Don’t move. You have lost.” He barked.
“I never-“ I began.
He interrupted me by slipping his fingers past my panties, and pushing them deep inside me, curling them deep against my walls.
I suddenly moaned out, shaking as he started to swirl his fingers around inside, using them to open my hole.
“So warm and soft… Inviting almost. You are quivering as well. I love when you act like a brat. As soon as I begin touching any part of you, you immediately melt. You quiver. You shake. You tremble.”
I got to do something nice for Taash later.
“Fuck… Lucanis…! You're being so… explicit…! I’ve never seen you act like this! Holy Maker, please… keep going….!” I panted.
He growled at me, slow and low. Letting his hands slowly reach up my dress and slowly pulled off the panties I was wearing. The cold autumn wind felt against my hole.
“Oh keep going, hm? I think not. You see. I am going to make sure you know who you are attaching yourself to for the rest of your life. Because it isn’t a Wyvern, as much as I wish it.”
He opened me up and shoved my panties into my hole, pushing them deep inside with his fingers.
“It’s a demon.” He said, flashing his eyes.
I cried out in a mixture of pain and pleasure, as his fingers moved around inside of me. Trying to push more of it in me until only a piece of it stuck out of me. I moaned and cried out his name, My brain shutting down any kind of resistance at this point, causing me to push my ass towards him more, silently begging him.
“Little fox, are you trying to tempt me? Are you trying to persuade me not to be rough with you?” He said curling his fingers faster inside of me. “That is not how you do it.”
“No… No please… Be as rough as you want…” I said with a shaky voice.
“Good. I will make you feel so good, mi amore. I have to plug up that slutty hole first. To make sure I don’t tempt myself. No, first, I have to make you weaker.”
He lifted my hips up until I was on my knees, my face in the sand and my body trembling for more pleasure. My cock twitched and ached to be touched.
“Look at how excited you are. Throbbing like crazy over me.” He said, gripping my cock. “I have barely touched you and you already look ready to pop.”
Fuck, at this point, I’ll do anything to keep this man in my life. I’ll do those damn trials with a fucking smile on my face. I'll slay any god he wants me to.
I whimpered when he grabbed my cock, feeling my eyes roll a bit, and then I started to moan softly as he started slowly jerking me. Still twisting his fingers in me and stirring my guts up with them. My hips were shaking slightly from all the pleasure and my body just melted to every command he gave.
“Where has all that bravado gone, hm? Did the slutty little fox lose it? Is he now succumbing to me?”
“Y-yes.. I can't… I can’t help it…it’s too good… Too good…!”
“Awww how cute…You sound so broken… so desperate~ However… There is just one thing I need to ask of you, little fox.”
“What's that…? I’ll do anything…!” I winced, looking back at him.
“Would you like it better if I ravage you as just I…Or both of us.”
I’m dreaming. Or dead. There’s no way that Lucanis is asking me about letting Spite join us?! Is he…? He and Spite are getting kind of friendly with each other more recently… and if they are stuck forever…
“Only if… haaa… You’re asking me this while milking my cock…?! It’s hard to think…Nghh… Ahhh… That’s… kind of hot, actually… But only if the Demon is fine with our guest joining in…” I moaned out.
“Perfectly fine. He could make himself useful… An extra pair of hands.” He smiled mischievously.
“Extra pair of-”
I couldn’t see it, but I felt it. Hands feeling up my thighs as Lucanis played with my cock. A tongue was felt going across my v-lines.
Boys, I need to be able to walk tomorrow! I can’t handle this! I’m gonna cum from this alone!
“H-Hey! I can… feel Spite! How are you both… Doing that?” I groaned, shaking from feeling Spites hands near my stomach. “I… nghh.. Can’t think… feel so…helpless…” I lolled.
“Stop asking questions and relax, mi amore.~” Lucanis purred, going faster. “Let us just hear you. Let us… Taste you…”
Lucanis then leaned forward and while milking my throbbing cock, I felt his tongue slowly move around my entrance.
“Fuck…! Nghhh… Shit… You both are gonna… make me lose it…!” I whined.
I felt teeth on the tips of my ear, and I jolted from the feeling, whining louder, clawing into the sand and trying to cover my face.
“No! No! Not my ear! Stop, I’m sensitive there! Please!” I cried out, embarrassed.
“Good job, Spite… You remembered~”
“You both are evil…! Evil, I swear!” I cried out, my hips starting to thrust on their own. “Fuck, I can’t…! I’m cumming! FUUUCK!”
My body suddenly convulsed, thrusting my hips hard as I came in Lucanis’s hand, and letting out a sharp and shaky cry as he continued to milk my cock as I came.
“Luca…! Lucaaaa…! Please… Please…! I’m already… Ahhhh…!” I sobbed euphorically.
Lucanis just ignored my pleas and kept moving his hand, until I was drained from him.
“Spite. Why don’t we reward him, hm? For being so obedient through the whole process…?”
“YES. HE HAS BEEN. OBEDIENT! LET US RAVAGE HIM! MAKE HIM. SCREAM!”
I wasn’t fully processing what they were talking about, my brain, at the time, was still melted from all the over stimulation. I didn’t register anything until I felt my panties being slowly pulled out of me.
“Ngh! Fuck! What… are you both…?”
“Shush, mi amore. Just your head down. Relaaax.. And Let Spite and I take care of you now.”
I relaxed just like he wanted, pushing my ass towards him, looking back at him with exhausted eyes.
“Okay, vhenan… I trust you both.” I whimpered softly.
His eyes softened, watching me for a moment before he took a deep breath and his eyes glowed purple again, grabbing my hips possessively.
“Remember Spite. We share him.”
“I KNOW! WE SHARE. FEEL HIM TOGETHER!”
I chuckled a bit, hearing them go back and forth a bit, before I felt… two rods near my hole. I snapped my head back to see Lucanis cock as well as a glowing purple rod right under it. Both dripping precum in excitement.
“How…?!”
“IF WE CAN SUMMON WINGS-” Spite said as they both started to stretch my hole open, grunting as they both entered my hole. “We can summon a second one… “
Welp. I’m going to be limping tomorrow. Worth it.
I cried out as pain shot up my back, clawing into the sand and breathing through it.
“F-Fuck!” I shouted.
“Are you okay…? It feels… almost too tight…” Lucanis said, concerned.
“ARE YOU IN PAIN?! ARE WE. THE SOURCE OF PAIN? ARE WE?!” Shouted Spite.
I squeezed around him angrily and he jolted in response. Getting him to calm down just to let me have some time to breathe, but I also didn’t want him to pull out of me. I wanted them so fucking badly.
“Don’t you dare… pull out of me… I’ve taken worse things, just…” I breathed out, relaxing my muscles. “I haven’t been that stretched out in awhile… Just be gentle, okay…? Both of you…?”
Lucanis smiled and leaned forward, gently pushing as deep as he can go inside along with Spite, kissing my back lovingly. I let out a long and whiny moan, looking back at him, feeling my head fill with lust.
“Of course. We will be as gentle as you want us to be.” He smiled, rubbing my back gently. “Just let us know if it gets too much.”
Gods, he's so sweet. His touch is so gentle… oh Luca, I love you…
I purr in response, nodding and laying my head back down. I let him slowly pull out of me, then slowly back in again. They did this a few times, before starting to pick up their rhythm with me. Keeping themselves buried in me, as they started to move faster. Clawing into my hips desperately.
“Fuck… fuck… oh gods…! Lucaa… Spiitteee…” It feels so good, holy… ahhh.. Fuck..!”
“MMMM. LUCANIS! HES MAKING. THOSE NOISES AGAIN! IT MAKES. US. MOVE QUICKER!” Spite groaned.
“I know, Spite…I know… I’m trying to hold it together… We dont want to… Hurt him…!”
He started to move quicker now, and made me get louder. Looking back at both of them, growling.
“Fuck! Fuck! Forget that! Hurt me! Fuck me as hard as you want!” I screamed.
“YOU HEARD HIM!” Yelled Spite.
My insides were now being ravaged by the both of them, forcibly gaped open to fit both of them inside. I clawed into the sand, my mind fogging over until all I could think about was them being with me and being inside of me. Wanting them to breed me full of their seed. Wanting to be claimed.
“It feels so good! Oh gods, I’m being split open! This demon is going to split me in two! Oh harder! Please harder, you two! I want to be destroyed! I want to be ruined! I want to be claimed!” I shouted, laying my head down on the sand submissively. “Please! I’m begging! I’m desperate! Please!”
Lucanis leaned over and placed his hands on my shoulders, holding me down, and started slamming deep inside. Growling and groaning, his wings coming out and flapping a bit as he started pounding faster.
“Demitrix…! Demitrix, be careful begging.. We both really fucking like it when you beg.. Please, I…” He moaned loudly.
Suddenly, he went harder, shoving my hips down and burying his cock as deeply as he could inside of me, and sunk his teeth into me. Growlingly like a feral animal.
“YOUR NOISES. MAKES US EXCITED. MAKES US WANT TO. GO HARDER. FEELS TOO GOOD! FEELS…!”
“Fuck!! Spite!! You're burying yourself so deep into my hole!”
“GOOD! FEEL US! FEEL EVERYTHING!”
“Ngh! Ahh! Demitrix! Demitrix!” Lucanis yelled, biting into me harder. “We're getting close!”
He hugged my body going faster and faster, growling along with Spite, making me scream and whine their names. My body was shaking hard from all of it and my eyes were starting to see stars. I felt myself start to slip into unconsciousness, only to have my thoughts come back to me.
Oh fuck. THE PLANTS. I FORGOT ABOUT THE PLANTS!
“Luca! Luca! Spite! The..! AGHH!!” I screamed, cumming hard onto the sand, my brain melting away. “The…”
As they both pressed deeply into me, I felt them filling my stomach quickly with their hot, sticky seed. Both of their voices mixing as they came inside of me together. I could feel it cling to my insides and slowly ooze back out as my hole couldn’t fill anymore. As Lucanis pulled out, he collapsed beside me, pulling me straight into his arms and hugging me. Spite’s wings wrapping themselves around me as well, feeling like a warm hug. I tried so hard to not pass out, and it seemed to work, trying to focus on Lucanis as I stayed conscious.
“What… were you saying, mi amore…? You kept mumbling…” Lucanis panted as he kissed my face lovingly.
“P…Plants… Emmrich…Forgot…”
He paused for a quick second, before he suddenly jumped up, fixed his pants, picked me up, and carried me off.
“MEIRDA! I forgot as well! I’m so sorry! Fuck, why in the Maker’s name am I forgetting this?! I’m sorry!”
I just laid in his arms, slipping in and out of sleep. Though, I don’t know if it was sleep. I just clung to Lucanis who ran as fast as he could through the Villa, rushing up to our bedroom, with Spite’s wings propelling him faster. I'm pretty sure he scared some servants, and broke some things on his way back.
Once he reached our room, he gently placed me on the bed, and grabbed the sending crystal from the nightstand on my side.
“Luca, I’m still… Here… I am okay-”
“Whoever has this necklace, GIVE IT TO EMMRICH.” Lucanis yelled into the necklace.
“Luca! I am still-” I tried to yell.
Davrins voice came through. “Why?! Whats going on?! Is Demitrix-”
“I’M FINE. JUST A SCARE.” I said, panicked.
Luca looked over at me, coming back over and feeling my head. Looking at me with big worried brown eyes.
“You're not feeling dizzy? You haven’t passed out…?”
“Are you- Creators, now I owe Taash money.”
“You both better not make a SINGLE joke.” I growled as a warning before turning to Lucanis. “Mi amore, I’m fine…It was just… the roughness of the session that made me almost-”
“I’m still here.” Davrin chimed in. “Can I go back to bed now?”
Lucanis didn't say another word to him, just tossing the necklace to the floor and hugging me tightly.
I laughed, hugging him back.
“Luca! I swear I’m alright!”
“Idiot! I should have remembered. I should have made sure you chewed them, even just in case!”
I grabbed his face gently, making him look at me.
“Hey. If I am not allowed to beat myself over things, neither are you.” I smile at him.
“But-”
“Hush. Hold me. Please. I want to be with you, my soft wyvern~” I giggled.
He stared at me for a moment before smiling and hugging me tightly, wrapping us up in the nice warm sheets of our cozy room.
“Whatever you want, my little fox.”
Mmhh.. It’s so warm here and with Lucanis under the covers with me… I never want to leave this spot…
I laid like that for a while, my eyes slowly closing until I saw wings wrap around me and hug me tighter.
“Spite…?”
“I… I THOUGHT. YOU WERE HURT. BECAUSE OF US. DON'T DO THAT AGAIN.” He snarled quietly.
“Oh Spite…” I giggled, hugging him back tighter. “Okay. I promise.”
—----------------------------------------------
The next morning, I woke up to the sunrise shining in through the balcony, and Lucanis chatting with someone through the necklace.
“He’s been brought back before? He was dead?” Lucanis whispered.
“Sort of. Emmrich saw very subtle evidence of necromancy in his blood when he was trying to determine what made him faint during that session in particular, just to be safe... He wanted to tell you guys before you left but he wanted you both not to worry. That’s why he gave you the plants.”
“I see.”
I stayed very quiet, sweating a bit.
Fuck. I forgot about that… But… Does Emmrich think there's a correlation between what happened and the fainting?
“It's cute when you're like this with him. Such a softie.” Neve playfully poked.
“Hmph. I love him very deeply, Neve. I can't lose him…”
Luca….
“I know. We can't as well. We know you'll keep him safe, though.” Neve eased.
“I will. Let me know if anything interesting comes up or if you find anything else.” Lucanis said curtly.
“We will. I'll be taking the necklace tonight, so if you both need anything, let us know.”
A voice yelled in the background.
“TELL THEM THAT WE MISS THEM!”
“Harding and Bellara say they miss you all. Come back safe.”
Lucanis and I chuckled from hearing them, but Lucanis snapped his head towards me.
Fuck.
“I'll talk to you all later.” Lucanis said shortly before getting up, and sitting by me. “Good morning, mi amore.”
“Good morning, vhenan…”
“You died before?”
“It's… a very long story. I technically ALMOST died.” I said sheepishly.
“Does it involve what happened with Silas?”
I looked away and took a deep breath.
Trust him.
“Yes. It all-“
There was a sudden loud knock.
“Demiiiitriiiiix! Wakey wakey, love birds! Come on, Demitrix! I want to hang out before I have to put you through my trials!”

———————————————————————
I felt light warm my face as I slept, the golden morning sun arose to greet me. I fluttered my eyes open to see the sun being emulated by the Fade outside my window. Acting as the sun rising in the east.
Bright, ribbons of yellow light filled the room and made it such a familiar and comforting sight.
I turned over in bed to Lucanis who was still fast asleep next to me and smiled. Watching his body rise and fall with his breaths. Finally at peace. I kissed his cheek before gently crawling out of bed, not wanting to disturb his rare rest. I didn’t bother throwing a shirt on, just keeping my cloth pants on before I scaled my wall into the rafters above. I left a book that I was reading up there the night before, eager to read more and to let Lucanis sleep. The rafters being the perfect place to do so.
After all the things we've been through… He deserves some rest. Especially after Spite. Especially after him.
I settled in on the beam above having a perfect view of Lucanis down below and the door out of the room. I’ve noticed that, slowly, become more protective over Lucanis, which Lucanis thought was unnecessary, but I never heard him truly complain. To be honest, I honestly don't know what's happening to me. As Lucanis and I’s bond grew, my heart feels more and more full everyday that I spend by his side. Now, I just have this strong urge to just… protect him. Or us. Or something. I never had this strong feeling before and it scared me slightly. Though, as I try to figure this feeling out, I look at Lucanis and suddenly that anxiety, that fear just goes away. It’s like I get this feeling that it’ll be okay. As long as we have each other.
I don’t want to lose him like I lost Silas. It feels wrong that I never told Lucanis about him… His death haunts me like a shadow and… I don't want Lucanis to have any more shadows following him…
I shook this thought away. I wanted to read, relax and I was going to do just that. As soon as I was comfortable enough, I opened my book on birds, and read. I enjoyed quiet mornings sometimes, just like I did when I lived in Antiva city. My little apartment had the best sunrises. The golden light would hit my face and wake me to the smell of the markets below. Spices and perfumes from the vendors below that glided on the winds of sea salt and ocean spray. I would wake up feeling like the sun gave me a blessing that day.
I did occasionally sneak peeks at Lucanis, admiring his face and fawning over how cute he was when he slept. The way he snored as his sleep deepened, his eyes twitching gently as he dreamed, and his random mumbling deep in the night while he slept. I was not used to having someone to wake up to that WASN’T a fling, but quickly, I grew fond of this. This closeness. This intimate physicality we shared between us. These flutters in my chest and stomach. I almost felt giddy.
“Lucanis and I…” I swooned quietly to myself.
I watched over him for what felt like hours, my mind wandering a bit. I imagined I was holding his hand as he laid in bed, he would snuggle into me when it felt colder here. His breath on my neck warming my skin, his soft touch that made me…
His soft touch that made me crave more of him.
My mind suddenly shifted to a more intimate scene. He'd kiss my neck from behind as he groped at my body on days he was feeling the best. Whispering my name like he was a demon of lust, and slipping his fingers from my stomach to the inside of my pants.
I closed my book and shuddered, my mind starting to fill with lustful thinking. They were, however, not unwelcome thoughts. They were thoughts that Lucanis and I could freely express with each other, if we permitted. I had to remind myself of that.
I sat and closed my eyes, letting myself indulge in these vivid desires. His hands on my neck squeezing my throat until I gasped for air. His strong arms pining me to the bed by my wrists, and sinking his teeth into me, feeling them on my neck, my back, and then my thighs. The way hed grip my hips hard and go oh so deeper inside of me… I loved every bit of the pain he gave me during sex. When I piss him off, it's the kind of sex that leaves me breathless. Leaves me aching. My body pays for it the next day, but it's so worth it. He is aggressive, ruthless, and creative when he's angry and he incorporates that into our healthy sex life. I felt my cock start to rub up against my pants, my face going red hot just from thinking about him. I looked down at Lucanis, becoming mesmerized by his thick, pillowy lips. His neck and shoulders were slightly exposed by the blanket. Made me want to sink my teeth into them.
My mind is just filled with him! Creators, I need him. I need him badly this morning. He just makes me go feral for him without even trying. Whatever it is, I need some of that.
I climbed down quietly and crawled into bed with Lucanis, trying gently to nudge him awake. I wanted his musk, his bite, his strong hands leaving marks on my lithe frame. The fact that he’d be grouchy made it even better, because then he’d be merciless.
At first, he didn’t react. I poked at his face a bit and that's when I heard a low growl coming from him.
“Quit. It.” He mumbled out.
His eyes slowly opened a fluttered a bit. Revealing the beautiful chocolatey brown eyes that made me weak.
“But I don't want to.” I said mischievously.
I went to poke him again, his hand coming up and grabbing my wrist.
“Demitrix. I am warning you. I am not responsible for whatever happens to you if you keep prodding me.” He warned quietly.
I giggled a bit and poked anyway, making him growl. His big brown eyes now filled with annoyance. I smiled mischievously back.
“Whatever you say, vecchio.” I mocked.
With a flash of sheets and blankets, he pulled my wrist towards him, and rolled on top of me. Holding onto the one wrist and then grabbing the other, he pinned them together above my head with just one hand. He then sat on my hips, his shirtless body glowing in the yellow light of morning. His ass pressing against my bulge so teasingly through his cloth pants, it almost made me melt right there feeling it. He must have felt my bulge too, because he looked down for a quick second, before speaking through his teeth.
“You are a walking menace, mi amore. It would be wise of you to cease what you are doing. If you don’t-“ he reached under the pillows and pulled out a dagger, pointing it at my throat. “I will cut your delicate skin so methodically and so easily, you'd think I was trained by a butcher.”
My bulge ached harshly as he pointed the dagger at me. His eyes. His body. The way his hair hung down as he looked upon me with his dark and deep gaze. The knife so gently yet so firmly pressed against my neck. Even the slightest movement, I could feel him reposition the knife to keep it to where it was on my neck. He noticed my lustful look, giving me a small subtle smirk as if to say:
“I knew this is what you wanted. I will indulge you.”
I smirked back, my eyes rolling back a bit as I kept feeling the knife.
“I am not scared of you, Demon of Vyrantium.” I spat at him, before relaxing into the bed with a smug grin. “You are just a big soft bird trying to play the demon. I do what I want, WHEN I want. What are you going to do about it?”
He reached his limit, his hand holding the blade went high and sunk the blade into the bed right by my head. Before I could realize that I was not meeting the Maker at that moment, I was rolled on my belly and the blade by my head was pulled from its spot. A hand grabbed a fistful of my hair by its root and shoved my face into the pillows roughly.
“I will hear your grating voice no longer. Time for me to have some fun with you in silence and if I hear you speak again, I will cut out that wagging tongue.” He growled angrily.
I moaned softly, feeling my scalp kicking up with red hot pain as he pulled and held my hair in his fist.
I felt him sit on my thighs, sliding his hand from my scalp to the top part of my back, pressing me down firmly. The dagger he held prodded at the cloth near my balls, and after I jolted from feeling the blade tip near me, he dug the dagger in slightly and precisely cut open my cloth pants where my ass was and left my bits unharmed. He dropped the knife nearby and with one hand, ripped open the incision he made in my pants, fully exposing my ass to him.
“Bastardo!” I yelled, trying to look back at him. “Those were comfy!”
Not to mention that I thought you were going to cut my balls off.
“Oops.” He said mockingly.
I went to try and fight him off but I felt two thick fingers rub on my hole and I melted like ice. Moaning and jolting as his touch sent bolts of electricity up my spine.
“You.. ahh… fucker…!” I gasped out.
“That was quick.” He noted slyly.
“Shut the fu-Ah!” I screamed.
As I was talking, he sunk his fingers into my hole and pushed them as far as he could go. Keeping his hand planted on my back to keep me held down. It made me insane from the way his fingers curled inside of me over and over quickly. He was trying to break me quickly and it was working.
“Oh FUCK! Shit! Lucanis!” I cried out, gripping the bed hard and letting my bratty nature slip away. “Luca! Luuuccaaaaa~!”
“I do love it when you call for me. When you scream for me…Say it more. Who do you treasure? Who do you crave, slut?” Lucanis growled quietly.
My brain said fight it, play hard to get but my mouth was already talking for me.
“You! I treasure you!” I yelled.
I shook, my voice quaking as he started to finger my hole roughly, spreading his fingers inside of me. He played around with my insides, trying to explore me more and deeper, and pressing on random spots on the walls of my hole.
“Say my name, slut!” Lucanis yelled, slapping my ass hard before fingering me harder. “WHO do you treasure?!”
Fuck fuck fuck! He’s going to make me lose control! I cant fucking take it anymore!
“Lucanis Dellamorte! I treasure you, Lucanis Dellamortteeeee!”
He lifted my hips into the air by his fingers slightly, curling them upwards RIGHT UP against my g-spot. The moment his fingers pushed on my prostate, my body shook violently and I screamed in sinful pleasure. My tongue hanging out and my brain sending bursts of electric energy into my stomach, making it contract. I gripped onto our sheets and shot hot, sticky cum into my torn up pants, feeling my eyes rolling back into my skull as he dropped me as ecstasy lingered and spread through my body like a blissful poison. Letting me lay in my soiled pants, he flipped me on my back, and looked over me. A huge sticky spot now on the front of my pants and I just laid there breathless.
Probably admiring his handiwork. Say what you want, that man has got more and more creative as our relationship has grown. I enjoy seeing what he comes up with.
With one more act of defiance, I looked up at him and smugly let out a smile.
“You came close but… Don’t think I am broken yet. You can’t do it.” I said, panting.
His eyes flashed purple.
.
“That’s it.” He snarled.
He grabbed my pants and tore them off of me aggressively. Tearing them apart with his bare hands, his eyes flickering with purple energy. He then tore off a large chuck out of them then two long pieces before shuffling over to me.
Oh no. I’m in danger.
“L-Luca?” I asked nervously.
He shoved the thicker cloth into my mouth and then quickly grabbed my wrists, tying my hands behind my back with one of the large pieces of cloth before dropping me on the bed.
I growled at him before he flipped me on my side, where I noticed he left the last long piece of cloth off to the side of us.
My cock was now twitching again. I was curious as to his thinking, making me forget about my cloth gag and how bratty I was supposed to be acting. Leaving me nervous and heavily aroused instead.
I watched him as he slid me over to him and put one of my legs over his shoulder. Pulling down his own pants in the front, letting his thick cock spring out, precum dripping like honey from his tip and it seemed to twitch with excitement as he got near my ass.
Gods, I want to lick that up… Suck the precum dripping from his massive cock… Maker, Breed me, Lucanis! Fill me to the brim with your seed! Let me feel you use up my tight hole in annoyance!
He leaned over me and grabbed my throat, squeezing it before pushing his rod on my hole..
“I’ve… noticed something. Whenever I choke you out during our romps, you get tighter. You contract your muscles while I am deep inside your guts to keep me deep inside of you.” He grunted, before pushing his member deep inside of me until his balls pressed against my entrance. “The same is true… while I push into you… and it feels really fucking good.”
I gasped as he filled my insides, feeling him squeeze my throat tighter. A shaky groan erupted from his throat as he filled my guts up with his cock and I laid my head down on the bed letting out a loud groan. Even with the rag in my mouth. I could hear my loud moans bouncing off the walls of my room. My hole twitched with pain as he stretched me open but I wanted him to handle it roughly. I wanted him to ruin me.
I tried to cover my mouth but my hands were tightly bound. I couldn't roll over because Lucanis had my leg up by his shoulder, hugging it with his free arm.
He was deep in my guts, and there was no way to move and try to frustrate him more, so I gave up. I laid there, looking up at him, drooling through this rag he had stuffed into my mouth. His eyes alive with mischief and lust.
He started to thrust into me, pumping his hips into my ass once he saw that I had melted. His grunts and groans filled my chambers as he pounded into my twitching hole.
“I bet you like this. Being punished for your bratty behavior. Such a fucking whore.” He snarled down at me, slapping my ass more. “Might as well chain you up and use you when I need stress relief.”
My eyes rolled back as he said that. Honestly, not the worse fate in the world.
Fuck, thats hot… I want him to do that to me so badly. Just for a day.
He let go of my throat, laying me on my back now. His hands now both pinning my thighs down by my head. My muffled screaming got louder as I felt him go crazy in me. Grunting and gasping loudly, I twisted my body around roughly, but it was no use against his force. My body was trembling with ecstasy, his panting getting louder and deeper. I could see him start to grit his teeth, looking like he was holding back a bit.
“Trix, I’m… I’m…. Getting close…”
I growled at him and tried squeezing tightly around him, which seemed to work because he stopped and, unexpectedly, he looked down at me, concerned.
“What are you doing?” He said, pulling the rag out of my mouth. “Are you okay? Do I need to stop?”
Lucanis… My big softie.
“Dont you dare…Pull out of me. Fill me up… to the brim with your seed.”
Lucanis smiled down at me, now looking relieved.
“As you wish, mi amore.” He purred.
He got off me, rolled me on my side before getting behind me and rolled on his back holding onto me, hugging my body to his chest. He sat me on his cock suddenly, making me jolt and cry out.
“Ah! LUCA!”
He reached down and held my thighs up as he laid back, now pounding into my hole hard. Growling and roaring in my ear. I started screaming in delight, feeling his cock rearrange my guts, absolutely no mercy being shown my way.
I laid back in completely ecstasy, riding the pleasure high in my head, my cock now just squirting cum out onto my chest as he pounds into my hole. My mind just swimming as he fucked my hole through my orgasm. All I remember after that is just babbling incoherently as I felt him press his cock deep inside, and my insides feeling something gooey and sticky filling them. Lucanis panting my name in my ear as he hugged me tightly. Kissing the side of my face so lovingly and comfortingly.
My vision suddenly got blurry and my eyes fluttered for a moment. The room spinning before, I felt my head lay back against Lucanis’s shoulder. Darkness overtaking me.
———————————————————————
I awoke still in bed, but covered up by blankets and the sun's light muted to a pale yellow color. Lucanis nowhere to be seen. Though, the pain in my ass was starting to show up as a dull nag. I turned over only to see Emmerich was looking down at me with a playful smile on his face.
“Ah! Master Demitrix, you awaken! Good, Lucanis will be relieved.”
I quickly gathered the blankets on my naked frame and yelped.
“Maker!”
Emmerich only laughed. “My apologies, Demitrix. Lucanis came and got me once he couldn’t figure out why you were not waking after your… session.”
Oh shit. I didn’t mean to worry Lucanis.
“Fuck… Sorry, Emmerich, I promise. I’m alright. L-Lucanis, where is he? Is he-”
Emmerich slowly patted my head, petting my hair softly.
“Eeeeeasy now, Demetrix. Breathe. Our dear friend is perfectly fine. He was in a state of calm panic after you passed out but we managed to calm him down. We assured him that you were going to be just fine. He apparently did not know that once the adrenaline of your session went down, there would be a slim chance that you would… pass out.” Emmerich explained.
“We?” I groaned, covering my face in embarrassment. “Who knows about this besides you?”
“Ah. Well, everyone kind of had a hand in that.”
I groaned louder and Emmerich just chuckled.
“Not to put too fine a point on it, and I mean this in the most respectful way possible, but you are not quiet, Demitrix. We’ve known for several months that you two are quite… Active.” Emmerich whispered softly, a smile dancing across his lips. “It’s quite healthy to be active! Having someone that can keep up with you can actually be benefical to your supply of-”
“THANK YOU, EMMERICH.” I loudly laughed, going to get up but he gently stopped me. “Huh? Emmerich?”
“Please don't be in a hurry to stand up. Lucanis is making breakfast for everyone. He also requested that you stay in bed, as he had something he wanted to discuss with you once you awoke.” Emmerich gently smiled before turning to leave. “Rest well, Demitrix.”
“Thank you… And sorry for worrying you all.”
I watched him leave, laying back. Chastising myself for making Lucanis worried like that.
He is stressed enough and here I am putting more stress on him. I should have warned him that something like that could happen after sex.
In the midst of my thinking, I heard the door open again and Lucanis walked in, holding a tray of food and drink for me.
“Good to see you are awake.” He chirped.
“I didn’t mean to worry you, mi amore. I’m sorry. “ I said dejectedly.
“Why are you sorry? It couldn’t be helped.”
“You brought me breakfast! It smells wonderful, love.” I smiled at him.
“Emmerich said I should give you a protein filled breakfast. Something to help you get your blood sugar up as well.” He said so matter of fact.
“Ah… That’s embarrassing. It’s not the worst thing though.” I sighed.
“No. You could very much be dead.” Lucanis said plainly.
“I always appreciate your bedside manner, my love. It is a comfort.” I laughed.
I took the tray from him and set it on my lap. Lucanis sitting beside me and watching me start to eat. His lips kept parting as if he wanted to say something. Then they would open again and fall silent. Towards the end of my breakfast, I finally looked at him and smiled.
“Mi amore, what is going on? You look like you want to say something to me. Emmerich said whatever you had to say was important and it seems it is. You keep hesitating. Is there something I should know?”
He kept quiet for a minute, looking away from me to stare at the cold ground below him, before he took a very deep breath.
“My family wants to meet you.”
I stayed still.
“Your family? You mean-”
“Illario. My cousin. Viago and Teia. They want to meet you. They know we have been.. Together for a while. Illario sent a letter that he wants to meet you PERSONALLY. That it was time for him to do so.” Lucanis explained nervously.
So many questions ran through my mind, my brain going into a full panic.
Why? Why now? I know that if a marriage is beneficial to the Antivan Crows, and it gives them more power, they usually allow it to happen. Is that what they are doing? Testing me to see if I will be a benefit to the organization if Lucanis and I get married? I never thought Lucanis might want to marry me. He's never even brought it up before. Wait. I’ve also never brought it up before. It might not even be about marriage! Why did I even think about marriage? And so quickly too-
I noticed Lucanis’s whiskey brown eyes staring at me with some concern and some confusion. His head tilted like he was curious before frowning and looking away.
“I understand if this is too much for you. It is a lot all at once and I do not wish to overwhelm you. I will get a letter sent right away to ask him to wait.”
My heart sank seeing his expression. Here I am panicking and he's probably just as scared to ask me to do this. This is scary to both of us. I was not going to let him down. If they ARE attempting to have me prove myself for Lucanis’s hand then…
“I do.” I blurted.
“What?”
“i-I mean I’ll do it! I’ll meet your f-family.”
“Demitrix, This could be rough… These are Talons. Leaders of the organization. I know you, You are stronger than anything I have ever seen, but they can be brutal. Cunning. Conniving, especially Illario. It might be a bit much, even for me. Are you sure? I will not force you to do this.”
I nodded, holding his face.
“Lucanis, if this is important to you, it’s important to me. You and I are together now. I don’t care how brutal this will be. As long as I have you, I can endure anything. Birds of a feather stay together, mi amore.”
He smiled, pressing his forehead against mine. He closed his eyes, and breathed out a sigh and looked into my eyes.
“I love you, Trix. More than anything. Don’t be afraid to… lean on me while we are there. I will be there for you, regardless of anything.”
“I love you too, Luca. I will. Now, when do we leave? How long are we staying?” I asked.
“Next weekend. He wants us there on Thursday in the evening.”
“Anything I should know?”
He went into deep thought, before looking at me with an amused grin. Something inside of me was unsettled.
“Viago De Riva is your Talon, yes?” Lucanis asked.
“Yes? Why?” I urged.
“This is the first time you are meeting him face to face, then?”
“Besides after I met you, Yes. Whhhyyy?” I urged more.
“Apparently, Viago is very interested in meeting you personally. As a potential family member.”
“That’s not disconcerting at all.”
“The only thing you should know is that if Viago is eager to meet you, you should keep your guard up.”
“That’s it?” I scoffed. “Why?”
“He has a pet snake that he travels with. A Death Adder. That was used to almost kill him at one point. The reason he kept the snake was because the snake was the only thing so far that came the closest to killing him. He respected the snake for it.”
I paused, feeling like I was walking into, quite literally, a vipers pit. Looking at Lucanis’s face reassured me though. I felt no fear going into this if it was with him.
“Good luck with Viago.” Lucanis mused

Chapter 2 of Meeting the In Laws!
Contains: NSFW themes. Loving and fluff themes. 18+ only.
Thursday morning came. We packed our bags and donned our crow armor, leaving my crow mask in my bag. I made sure I had my poison vials on my hips and my arrows all accounted for while Lucanis counted his knives. Making sure he had exactly eight of them on him, which he then put on his person.
As we were heading to the Eluvian, we started saying goodbyes to everyone in the Lighthouse. Taash stopped me as Bellara pulled Lucanis to the side, talking to him.
“Trix, hold on.” Taash urged.
“Yeah, Taash?”
I had to crane my neck to look up at her, towering over me like a huge wyvern. Her long white braid hung down in front of her like broken chains, and those intense eyes staring down at me with a small amount of concern behind them. She was massive and glorious, and constantly scared the shit out of me. She could break me, and I’d honestly let her.
“Think you can handle going to meet the family? I mean, who's gonna be there if you pass out again? You know they make supplements for that?”
“You think you’re funny, huh?”
“I know I’m funny. Seriously though, are you going to be okay? These Crows… Sounds like shady shit. I mean, with everything still going on…”
“It’s important to Lucanis and I. Though, I understand your concern. Crows recently don't have the best track record.”
“Yeah well. Try to take it easy while you're there, if you can. Don’t overexert yourself. Emmerich won't be there to revive your ass.”
“Come on, I’ve been embarrassed enough! It’s bad enough you and Davrin make fun of me constantly for it, now Emmerich is playing Mother Hen because of you two.”
Emmerich piped up, rushing over and handing me a satchel of strong smelling plants. Manfred standing close by and peeking out from behind Emmerich.
Noooooooo…
“Take these herbs, Demitrix! Whenever you and Lucanis are about to have intercourse, chew on them thirty minutes before you start!”
I put my hood up and snatched the herbs from Emmerich.
“Thank you, Emmerich…”
“What do the herbs do? Keep him hard?” Taash inquired.
Kill me. Please, Creators. Fucking kill me.
He turned to Taash. “No! Hes young enough where that shouldn't be a problem. Although if that does happen, i have a remedy for that as well. No, These will help him combat the fainting if it remains an issue. There's a special chemical inside the plant that helps with-“”
“Alright, I’m leaving.” I quickly said, turning towards the Eluvian. “I didn’t realize you guys were just gonna talk about this right before we left.”
“Wait! I’m not done bullying you yet! I came up with new jokes! I have a list!” Taash laughed.
“You've been bullying me all week!” I yelled back.
“Remember! Thirty minutes before!” Emmerich giggled.
Manfeed only hissed at me.
“Yeah, what Manfred said.”
“Goodness! Manfred, I didn't even see you there!” Emmerich gasped.
Hissssss
Davrin stepped in, laughing.
“Enough, enough. Demitrix, are you sure about all of this? A place full of assassins. The very thought makes me uneasy. Not that I don’t trust your skills or Lucanis’s. I just… Don’t trust their intentions.” Davrin spoke with concern.
“I appreciate the concern, Dav. I know how the Antivan Crows work but I can’t say I don’t have any reserves about the whole thing. I have a really bad feeling about it. Like… something is lying in wait.” I explain.
“So Why go at all?” Davrin asks, tilting his head. “If you think it'll go sideways, why not bring all of us? I don’t think you should go by yourselves.”
“If it’s important to him, then it’s important to me. I want to go, but I am keeping myself open to the dangers of being around a bunch of high ranking Crows. Trust Lucanis and I to handle it.” I spoke with conviction.
I held my hands up, showing off the rune signatures painted on my nails.
“Besides, I have some precautions in place as well as antidotes. Trust me, I didn’t get this far being an Antivan Crow by chasing tail and partying. I am from Viago de Rivas cell. We are a paranoid bunch, to be sure. You’d be too if you knew the effects that some poisons do… Even after you’ve been given an antidote.”
“What is that?” Davrin said, taking my hand and looking at my nails. “Are these runes painted on you?”
“It's a special kind of paint that has a very tiny pinch of refined lyrium in it. A rune symbol is painted on my nails to dip into drinks and liquids. If the paint feels anything corrosive or poisonous, then the paint will peel off into the drink and melt into the liquid. Coloring it black.”
“That's… Really handy to have”
“That’s why it's an Antivan Crow special. Only for Viago’s faction.” I say, showcasing a smirk. “I am not going into this meeting unless I know I can defend myself.”
Davrin smiled at me and crossed his arms.
“I knew that pretty boy face was hiding some cleverness.” Davrin joked with a chuckle.
I laughed along with him.
“This pretty face has always been clever.”
“How do we contact you? In case we need you guys? I know this is important but we need to be able to contact you in case… things happen. It always does.”
Bellara bounced over, Lucanis rejoining my side.
“With this!” She yelled, holding out a pair of crystal necklaces.
“What is this?” I asked.
She then put it around my neck and then around Davrin.
“These are sending crystals! I found them just sitting around in Minrathous on a bench near a bar! Crazy right? Anyway, if you speak directly into the necklace, the other recipient will hear it and be able to respond to you! As If you guys are standing like… how you are now!”
Davrin looked at me and then lifted the necklace to his mouth.
“In peace, Vigilance.”
Davrins voice came through the crystal, clear.
“Damn! Leave it to Bellara to find a solution to everything.” I said proudly.
Bellara giggled. “I figured after… well, it shouldn't be a problem now! If we need to talk, we can do so easily now!”
I turned towards the Lucanis, tucking the necklace into my leathers.
“Are you ready to go, amore?”
“Very ready. Let us hurry.”
We said our last goodbyes to everyone before going through the mirror leading out into the Crossroads. We got to the Treviso mirror and as the Eluvian closed behind us, the smell of clove and sea salt air hit my face. The soft scents of incense floated from the nearby chantry and I thought longingly of my balcony back home, and with a groan, I started carrying off our bags to the street.
The streets were quiet with a few locals wandering around, the gulls squawking as they flew overhead.
“Wait here, I will find us a carriage.” I spoke up, putting my stuff down. “Can you watch our stuff until I come back?”
He nodded.
“Be safe, amore. I will wait for you.”
I smiled and went off to find a carriage driver while Lucanis stayed to guard our luggage. He's not a social bird and I could probably get us a cheap ride if I “flaunted” my job title. He's not the one for flaunting, more intimidation.
Time rolled by as I went searching and asking around for where a carriage service was and as I finished up talking with a local, something flew by me, and then something was falling softly to the ground. A single black raven feather that shone brilliantly with an irresistible shimmer.
I quickly sprang into action and looked towards the roofs quickly, diving into the shadows of the alleyways. Quickly, I pulled my bow out and notched an arrow, aiming towards the rooftops where the bird flew from. A shadow was seen looking down at me, cape fluttering in the wind. A shiny crow mask adorning their face along with poofy curls peeking out of their hood. They watched me before they turned and disappeared from view.
I see. They are making sure that Lucanis’s and I are on our way. If they meant harm, they would have shot an arrow or threw a dagger. Quiet and subtle. This was loud and a message. “We are watching.”
After taking a minute to look around and nothing happening, I relaxed, taking a breath of relief. I walked over to the feather and picked it up, inspecting it. The feather was marvelously well kept and had no signs of wear or weathering. This was a pet raven, One that was spoiled.
It’s really pretty.. I should give it to Luca! It fits with his look! I always love giving him little trinkets like these.
After tracking down the carriage the local directed me to, I rode it back to Lucanis and helped him with our stuff.
“Luca, I caught a glimpse of an Antivan Crow when I was getting the carriage earlier. They are making damn sure that we know they are watching us.” I spoke in a hushed tone.
“They were making sure we were on our way. Illario is being impatient.”
“This is normal then?”
“For Illario, Of course.” He chuckled.
Lucanis looked focused. This probably felt like he was on a job so he was acting accordingly. Short conversations, his eyes darting around in a cautious manner.
“I have a present for you!”
“For me?” Lucanis said, surprised.
“Yeah! Here.”
I placed the feather in his hand and watched his face, but he seemed confused.
“What is this? Why are you giving me a feather?” He asked, perplexed.
“Oh. I figured you would like it. I thought it was pretty and it fits you… so I just… Nevermind, It was stupid, I’ll take it back and-“
“Don't take it back, I love it.”
“Don't take it back? You seemed so-“
“I LOVE it. I was only confused about why a feather and why this one. Now that I know, It is mine. I want to keep it.”
I smiled and watched as he fiddled with it on his clothes. As we got into the carriage together, I saw he tucked it right behind the vials that are strapped to his chest. I smiled to myself and blushed at him displaying it on himself.
As we started on our carriage ride there, I leaned my head on Lucanis’s shoulder as we rode off. Looking up at him and smiling, I grab a hold of his hand, intertwined my fingers with his and relaxed into him. He must have been tense, for his shoulders lowered and his body relaxed as I squeezed his hand.
“Nervous, mi amore? They’re your family.”
“A family of Crows.”
“Fair, but aren't you more familiar with them? I mean, at least with Illario. They love you-“
“I am not worried for me.”
“You're… worried about me? Please, I can handle a few Crows, darling.”
“I worry about what they have planned for us. For you.”
He cupped my face in his hands, kissing my forehead.
“I don’t want them to scare you away from me.”
“Lucanis…” I purred, holding his hand that was cupping my face. “I love you. They can’t scare me away from you. It’s you and I now. Plus our little family.”
He searched my eyes for a moment, his eyes shaky and searching for something in me. Maybe doubt? Any sign of apprehension? Either way, he must have not found it. He began to calm and leaned his forehead against mine, taking a deep breath, his eyes closed. He squeezed my hand tighter and then pulled me in for a deep kiss, holding the back of my head gently.
I melted so easily to his lips locking onto mine, and closed my eyes. Just letting the world melt away and all of its problems to just Lucanis and I. I enjoyed his romantic heart, even if I was still not used to it. His romance made my chest warm and almost made me feel so… shy. So vulnerable. I was used to more primal urges. This kind of care and love… It was foreign to me.
“I love you, Luca…” I longingly sigh.
“I love you too, Trix…” He said a similar tone.
I kept my face pressed against his, holding us like that for a while before Lucanis kissed my forehead and relaxed, looking out the window. His eyes seemed to focus elsewhere. I could only guess his family was on his mind. More worry. My love’s mind was vast and hard to pin down and it was hard at times to see what exactly was on his mind. I decided to do the same as him and looked out my window, watching as we passed through the Antivan countryside.
Autumn was in full swing in Antiva. Comforting colors of reds and oranges were dotted amongst the rolling hills of the grasslands, blotches of yellowing grass that surrounded the fields of the farms that passed by made only miss the fresh green of spring. Farmers were out with their scythes, getting crops and loading them into carts for the yearly harvest before settling down for winter.
The sea in the distance glittered with the afternoon sun, making it look like a portal to the Maker had opened in the water. It was so tempting to swim in that holy looking water, but given recent events, decided against it.
I wondered to myself whether or not the family gathering would allow me to sneak away to peek at nature. I also haven't swam in a while, and it was still early enough to do so without it being too cold. I lamented that I haven't had the chance to go swimming, being busy with the Veilguard and you know… The whole world ending business. Maybe Where we go will have a nice lake, or a small pool? One could only hope. After a bit, I just fell asleep, dreaming of being away from everything.
A couple of hours passed before the driver spoke up, spooking me out of sleep.
“We are nearing the lake house now, sers!”
“Good.” Lucanis said curtly.
I looked at Lucanis, half awake still and groggy. My hair, draping in front of my face.
“Lake house…?”
“Good evening, Sleeping Beauty.” He laughed.
“Fuck off.” I chuckled back, punching his shoulder. “We’re going to a lake house?”
“Yes, Lago de Novo.”
Oh fuck.
“Isn’t that where…?”
“‘The Great Betrayal’ happened? Yes.”
Great. They are sending a message. Hurt Lucanis and you'll be killed the same way the traitor Talon was. Lago de Novo was where a Talon betrayed and killed most of the other Talons of the Antivan Crows. Dealing a severe blow to the order. While we managed to pick ourselves back up from the incident, people are still weary of talking about it. Especially in front of Viago and Teia. Now, I am about to go there to meet them.
“Boy, your folks really know how to make a man feel welcome…” I jested.
“You know The Crows are dramatic. Illario especially.”
“Yeah well they don't scare me. You know that. Just. Makes me nervous.”
Lucanis shuffled in his seat uneasily for a second, before looking at me with big soft eyes.
“Demitrix… You… You know I am not good at this. For you… I want to try. You DO know if you need to talk to me or tell me something… I will always listen. Right?”
“Of course…? Where did that come from?” I looked at him, confused.
“You…tend to keep things hidden. I just… I want you to trust me. I don't want you to keep it inside. Right now, this level of trust is crucial. You understand?” He said delicately.
“Same goes to you, love.”
“Trix-“
The carriage driver stopped abruptly and hopped down.
“We are here, sers!”
Lucanis gave me a “we will talk about this later” look and I felt my face flush with embarrassment as he got out.
Wow, Demitrix. Way to piss off Luca. Just fucking talk to him!
My fear got the better of me, however, and I got out cracking jokes just as before.
Lucanis and I then grabbed our things and headed over to the black gondola waiting for us by the docks.
“Oh I can't wait! I'll go swimming! Or I could go for a walk? You could cone too! Anything you feel comfortable with! Either way, I am going swimming, autumn be damned.”
Lucanis just seemed to watch me talk as he loaded our things in the boat, a small smile on his face.
“You have always looked adorable when you are excited.” He cooed, walking over and kissing my cheek. “I’ll do whatever you want to do after dinner and introductions. Crows are patient but not for other Crows.”
I nodded at him, keeping a lid on my excitement for now. Lucanis gave a soft chuckle at me and nodded at the gondola driver to start moving across the lake. While Lucanis sat, perfectly poised and noble-like, I dipped my hand into the water, feeling the cold refreshing water against my hand.
“You know this lake is full of carnivorous fish, right?” Lucanis piped up.
“What?!” I yelled, yanking my hand out. “Really?!”
“No.” He smirked before covering his mouth. “Just wanted to see your reaction.”
“You're an ass! No sex for you, tonight.”
“Demitrix!” He barked.
“What?! You tricked me!” I yelled back.
“We are not alone!”
He motioned to the gondola driver.
“And? I'm sure the gondola driver has had lots of sex! Probably have a lot of kids! From having sex!”
“DEMITRIX.” He yelled, exasperated
“What?! Tell him, Have you had lots of sex?” I ask the Driver.
Lucanis just put his head in his hands,
sighing loudly. The driver just stayed quiet and kept his head bowed but I saw his body start to shake as if he was holding back laughter. I gave a smug grin to Lucanis before sitting back.
As we got closer to the shore, we saw a familiar woman in a long black silk dress seemingly waiting by the shore. She had a slit in her dress showing off her long smooth leg and her hair down and poofed out, her long curls swaying in the breeze. As soon as we came up on shore, she rushed over and greeted Lucanis.
“Lucanis! My dear! Glad to see you are still doing well!” She chirped, kissing both his cheeks. “You know, you could always visit, let us know how you are.”
I recognized her as Andarateia Cantori, the Seventh Talon who was as beautiful as she was deadly. She used both her beauty and her assassin skills equally well and quickly gained respect and fear in equal measure within the Crows.
She turned and looked at me, smiling opening her arms out wide to me and pulling me into a hug. I happily greeted her back, keeping my guard up at the same time
“Demitrix! It's been a long time! I can't wait to get to know you more over this weekend. See what Lucanis sees in you and what you see in Mr Grumpy over there. I also hope you've been treating him well.”
“I hope so! Otherwise, Lucanis has some explaining to do.” I laughed, grabbing a hold of Lucanis’s hand. “I cant wait to meet everyone and get closer to the family. This is obviously very important to Lucanis, and what can I say? I am a sucker for those big sad brown eyes.”
“I do not have big sad brown eyes.” Lucanis growled.
“The cutest pair~” I purred.
Teia smiled, giggling a bit.
“You two are so cute! I cannot wait for you to meet everyone else, Demitrix. Lucanis had mentioned that you loved swimming! I am sure you are very excited to be here. We could go swimming together if you wished.”
“Are you kidding? I’d love that! I was over the moon when Lucanis surprised me with it! I have loved the water since I was small!”
Teia smiled a bit brighter. More genuinely than before.
“I am glad you are so excited.” She snickered.
I noticed out of the corner of my eye that Lucanis looked away towards the lake surrounding us. The wind blowing at his hair and armor, making him look like a moody, elegant painting. I must have been staring at him for s minute and not paying attention to Teia because she stepped in front of me, looking at Lucanis and then looking back at me with a mischievous smirk on her ruby red lips.
“You are getting distracted, dear~” She teased.
“Ah! Sorry, hes just… very distracting.~” I sighed longingly, smiling as I watched him. “Verrrry distracting.”
“Hey! Come back to me! You can look at Lucanis later! Come! Let's meet the family!” She chirped quickly, hugging my arm and pulling me in. “Viago! Illario! Lucanis and Demitrix are here!”
Lucanis walked slowly behind us as we approached the building, almost looking like a large dark-furred wolf, watching over me. I looked back at Lucanis, whose intense eyes wandered the villa, looming close to me. We walked inside where I marveled at the look of the place, almost feeling like I was in an Antivan storybook. We were standing in a large open foyer decorated with black marble with dark cherry colored wood accents. Green satin curtains decorated the windows and clung to the floor like a dress. Dark green carpets, Antivan rugs and runners laid across the floors. Leading to a grand set of wooden doors with the Antivan Crows logo on it. A balcony hung over the grand twin doors with silky green banners hanging from the railing. The floors were the same color of dark cherry as well. The hardwood was not even creaking as we stepped in, The only thing heard was Teia’s heels clicking on the floor as she walked forward, yelling for everyone.
“She's very loud and quite flamboyant. I like her. It'll be nice not being the only elf in a house full of humans as well.” I whispered towards Lucanis.
“I knew you’d like her.” Lucanis said with a smile.
She came back over to me and grabbed my hands, holding them up, her heartwood colored eyes staring back into mine.
“Let me be the first to welcome you, Demitrix. You must know, I didn’t think anyone would ever come to us on Lucanis’s arm.”
“What is that supposed to-” Lucanis started to say.
“I am so overjoyed that it is you. His savior and now his lover. Almost like a storybook!”
I smiled at her kind words, but the back of my head itched. I knew this felt way too friendly compared to what Lucanis told me back at the Lighthouse, but I kept smiling, holding her hands back. Part of me was almost upset at the fact that I couldn’t trust her honeyed words.
Deep down, we are all Crows. A suspicious lot, but that's just how we survive.
“Oh!” I chirped. “Before I forget, Lucanis will need coffee soon. He hasn't had it for a minute.”
“Did I hear that my Cousin is home?”
I looked up at the balcony to see Illario with a glass of red wine in his hand. His hair slicked back and a black, opened and pressed button up shirt with a green sash across his waist and black dress pants.
“Hello Illario.” Lucanis said plainly, his eyes looking Illario up and down. “Do you still not know how to button up a shirt?”
“Ha! Youre funny.” Illario said, leaning on the balcony. “ Does your lover?”
He gestures at my Crow outfit, my chest and the top part of my stomach exposed. Playing up my confidence. I spin in place on my heel and toss my scarf.
“It’s my signature! I’m a lure. A siren~.”
“He can actually pull off the look.” Lucanis smirked.
“Ouch! Such sass! I hope you don’t let him talk to you like that, Demitrix.” Illario laughed, finishing off his wine. “I’ll be down in a minute. Viago should be there momentarily.”
Illario disappeared down an upper hallway and almost as if on cue, We see the large twin doors opening and out walks Viago in a nice suit with black gloves. His icy cold eyes narrowed as he walked in. A beautiful looking Death Adder snuggly wrapped around his arm.
Lucanis put his hand gently on my back, rubbing it as Viago approached us. Teia went over to him, planting a big kiss on his cheek and taking his arm that was free of the cane and snake.
“Hello, love! You remember Demitrix, right?”
She leaned in and whispered something in his ear and let go of him, gesturing towards me. Viago stepped forward, his gaze sharp and locked onto me. As he stepped over to me, I stepped forward as well, Lucanis grabbing my hand.
“Demitrix.” Viago sighed, a bit of annoyance floated with my name. “Good to see you again. I look forward to getting to know you.”
I gulped but shook the dread away by squeezing Lucanis’s hand and letting go of it. Smiling, I held out my hand.
“Good to see you, sir! You and Teia look amazing this evening. You both and… Arainai.” I said nervously.
“Lucanis must have told you about him. Yes. The snake that nearly killed me in this manor. The only thing that ever came close to killing me.” He spoke with a lowered tone, his eyes narrowing. “As for Teia. She always looks amazing. However, Be respectful. She is still your Talon. Do not ogle at her.”
I sweated a bit and put my hand back down, letting out a forced chuckle.
“Don't worry, I have my own lover to ogle at.”
“Yes.” His eyes shot over to Lucanis. “You seem enraptured by him. I do hope that you aren't getting distracted from your contract.”
“We arent, Viago.” Lucanis spat sharply.
“Just something to keep in mind. We shall see how you both fare in the coming days. So far, Demitrix hasn't had a good track record.”
Lucanis went to say something but I raised my hand slightly looking at him. He closed his lips, and glared at Viago instead, letting me speak.
“I…promise I will not disappoint.”
Viago turned and rejoined Teias side, staring at me with a mixed look. Almost hopeful? Teia gripped onto Viagos arm and smiled apologetically at me.
“I hope not.” Viago growled under his breath.
Illario popped into the doorway, rushing over to hug me.
“Hello, little bird! So you are the one, huh? The one that managed to claim that icy heart of his?”
“Icy? Not at all! He's a sweetheart!” I joked, trying to be as charming as I could be. “The kindest man I have ever met! The most handsome one too! I am the luckiest man in Thedas!”
“Demitrix…” Lucanis hushed in an almost bashful tone.
“Oh! This is a new face and voice for you, Lucanis! Demitrix, you must be a miracle worker! Look! He's blushing!” He laughed.
“Illario. Quit it.”
“Ugh! You are no fun, Cousin! Demitrix, what do you even see in him? You seem like you'd be my type. Mind switching to me for an evening?~”
I blushed brightly, and nervously chuckled. Lucanis got between us, his arm wrapping around me and pulling me into his body.
“He is mine.”
Illario shot a smug look towards Lucanis, before peeking down at me.
“As you wish, Cousin.”

Chapter 3 is almost done! And boy there is a lot of personal angst and drama from Demitrix, but! You also get a lake sex scene and lots of gentleness and fluff around Lucanis~ (plus some bonus background stuff on Demitrix based off a story I wrote about him and a friends Rook.) I am having so much fun writing again. Veilguard just lit q fire under me as well. This fic is based on what we knew before Veilguard comes out so if it feels a but weird, thats why, Lmao.
