Codex: Marzeyna Lavellan

Born in Fereldan in 9:16 Dragon, Marzeyna Lavellan was a quiet child with no true want for a place on a battlefield. Studious and curious about the world around her, many crown her as a kind spirited woman with little wanting for much more than a quiet afternoon in the forest. Though she lost both of her parents during the Fifth Blight, putting a damper on her childhood. She cites it as the time where a lot of her problems started. After that, many would claim she became a bit of a recluse, and was very close with the Keeper and few people her own age. Far from clamoring for attention, she suffered nightmares from the event for years, and often struggled with her confidence and self-esteem. She was moved to Clan Lavellan to eventually become the First of the Clan during the Arlathvhen of 9:31 Dragon, and was deemed a mage after an incident just before her eleventh birthday.

As the Inquisitor, she left Reyna Hawke behind in the Fade, something she struggles and toils with throughout the time afterwards. Marzeyna downsizes the Inquisition after the Exalted Council, and temporarily retires with her husband, Cullen, in Fereldan.

Marzeyna’s a smaller woman, but her mannerisms are anything but. She’s a Knight Enchanter with an affinity for earth and fire magic. Underestimating her is not recommended -- she knows how to heal, but she also knows how to make it hurt, bad. Her tiny stature is made up for by her bold personality and even bolder attack plans. Not quite average for a mage either, her armor might be light but she knows how to bring about the pain to her enemies.

She’s a devoted member of her clan Lavellan, even as her work takes her further away from them over time. There isn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them, evident by her assistance that landed them a safe place in Wycome. While she no longer has her parents, she does have friends and her brothers -- respectively older (Alras) and younger (Cyvin)

I keep thinking about how Emmrich, the man with the crippling fear of death, the man who has a panic attack if he thinks of his own mortality for long enough, fell in love with the absolute idiot who cannot go ten minutes without trying to drown themselves.

Rook? Can't swim. Scared of heights. INCREDIBLY reckless on the battlefield no matter how good you are at the game. Keeps getting KICKED IN THE TITS BY A DRAGON. Has the directional sense of a headless chicken.

I'm just saying what's probably already been said but that man has grey hair because of us. Emmrich Volkarin thank you for still loving me after having to pull my broken body out of a very shallow lake for the fifth time in five minutes.

staring at my rook (bc im entirely nomral) and i've noticed the bottom of their vallaslin looks a lot like the mourn watch symbol? ofcourse its not exact but

they both look like little beetles... ✨ foreshadowing ✨, especially with their vallaslin being Falon'Din and his ties to death and the dead. wroaw
