Oh orchard orchard orchard.... I think he would be involuntarily protective of copperhead (or like. Any friend he makes but copperhead is the first and most important) and it can get a bit too much at times. Like yeah man sure it's nice that you like me that much but...

And this mimics Citrus' behavior perfectly too, at least in BTATB. As soon as Citrus finds his calling in being a family man, he'll do just about anything to keep them safe. His violent side only boils to the surface if that does occur.

And Orchard? Orchard lost too much. In his heart, it's because he didn't speak out soon enough. He didn't intervene fast enough. So now, subconsciously, he can't let anyone he's close to get in any sort of danger.

I mean, sure, he's stronger than those he protects, usually. And again, it Is nice to know someone like this has your back no matter what - but it can be quite frustrating and feel weird when it's incessant.

He grips Copperhead a bit tighter at night when he narrowly escaped being captured, or worse. And Copperhead notices that, eventually - he's not the brightest but he's not fucking stupid.

This has been in my drafts since nov 5th I'll just set it free lol
