contessa actually went through a lot of faceclaim changes - it's p obvious when you go through her tag lmao. she's always been a redhead to me, but it was difficult to find someone who really matched her vibe.

her first fc was ashley johnson, but i changed it bc tessa is a redhead for fucking sure, so then her fc was isla fisher. but the vibes weren't quite right for isla, so then her fc was scarlett johannsen, but i just wasn't vibing with her. then i finally settled on jessica chastain and so far, i haven't changed my mind lmao

willow

OTP: willow and stiles!

BROTP: willow and lydia. after a rocky start, they become really close during season 2 because they're both trying to figure out what the pack is hiding from them, and from there they just become closer!

OT3: willow, stiles, and malia. for a long time i actually thought about doing that, but ultimately, decided that willow and stiles together would work better

NOTP: willow and scott. they're siblings by heart, it would be gross. also melissa literally adopts willow so even weirder

an alternative love interest for them: lydia! willow was lydia's bi awakening and lydia was willow's first kiss, so i could see them dating!

sun-hi

OTP: sun-hi and wu-jin

BROTP: sun-hi and su-hyeok! they've been besties forever

OT3: i... can't really think of one? i feel like sun-hi would be too jealous to be a poly relationship tbh.

NOTP: obvious answer would be sun-hi and cheong-san, but i think if they had started dating before he started crushing on on-jo, i think they could have made it work. real NOTP - sun-hi and su-hyeok! they tried dating but broke up after a month because they just don't fit together romantically

an alternative love interest for them: sun-hi and gyeong-su! in another world, they definitely could have been happy together, especially since sun-hi had a crush on him for a lil bit before she started crushing on cheong-san

reid - he's definitely my favorite dynamic to write for bc while tessa has trouble opening up w everyone, they also have the romance dynamic that makes it complicated

rossi - rossi was one of the agents who hunted down contessa's adoptive father/kidnapper parents and serial killer father and knows her the most, due to having been there since the beginning and keeping in contact between the og case and her joining the team. they have a sweet surrogate father relationship and he's one of the few people that she has an affectionate dynamic with

garcia - garcia constantly trying to get tessa to loosen up and she's like ??? stay away from me. golden retriever vs black cat. they're so much fun especially when tessa finally gives in. immediately thought of this gif while thinking about them

her biological family as a whole all have really interesting dynamics to explore, but my favorite is probably her dynamic with her oldest brother, kieran. there's a lot of pent up resentment that tessa feels toward him bc he was supposed to watching her when she was kidnapped, but she also knows he was just a kid too so she struggles a lot with her feelings toward him. and he's just forever overprotective now that that she's settled back into the family since he feels responsible for her kidnapping, but she's resistant to that and they're just kind of a mess

jj! - jj is the first to really crack through tessa's walls at work and they end up becoming best friends, to the point that she's the first one to figure out tessa has feelings for spencer and the first (besides rossi) to meet any of her bio family

random oc question: if contessa were able to change into any animal, what animal form would she choose to take?

she would LOVE to be a cat. she had a sphynx cat named Cleo when she was going through college and training, but Cleo passed shortly before tessa was recruited to the BAU. but she would love to just lounge around and do whatever she wants like her baby did.

Can I ask about Contessa? Maybe specifically her kidnapping, stuff about Owen (I think that was his name?), her relationship with Spencer? Maybe how Spence feels about Owen and his escape, does he worry over Contessa about it?

aaaah this got longer and more involved than i realized it would so it's beneath the cut!

okay!! so basically, contessa was kidnapped by owen and his wife, martha, when she was born - they stole her from the hospital because martha desperately wanted to have a child and owen did it to make her happy. he was a trucker that is often on the road, so contessa was mainly raised by her mother. she always knew her mom was a little unhinged - she wasn't particularly the best mom - but she never realized exactly how fucked up she was until she was much older. she was definitely more of a daddy's girl and loved being around her dad when he was around, though she started to feel more uncomfortable around him when she was older and started noticing he was beginning to look at her differently. she lived a mostly normal life as their daughter until she was seventeen, when david rossi and jason gideon showed up at their door while her mom was at work.

she couldn't believe at first that her dad was actually a serial murderer who killed female hitchhikers. it wasn't until her mom came home and saw the two agents talking to tessa that she attempted to make a run for it, but was caught within hours. owen was caught two days later and was taken to prison, but martha took her life while waiting to be transferred, as the agents dug more into the family and realized contessa had been kidnapped. contessa took it really hard and while gideon was more focused on the case, rossi got somewhat distracted and spent extra time with her, assuring her that he was there for her and she would be okay.

when contessa joins the team, she's changed her last name to wright to match her birth parents' and doesn't bring up her childhood, so spencer and the rest of the team find out, they're all very taken aback. she doesn't tend to talk about it, so even then, he doesn't really have much information about it besides what was in the files until they start dating. the first time they talk about it and she goes more indepth about her relationship with owen, specifically, he takes it pretty well, more focused on comforting her and making sure she knows that he doesn't think she's weak or damaged or not good at her job because she couldn't see the signs when she was young.

and when he breaks out? contessa pretty much freezes up and pretends not to be effected by any of it. she's so overwhelmed by the escape that she just kind of shuts down and throws herself into the other escapees since she's not allowed to work owen's case. the escape is actually what triggers spencer to move in with her - they'd been talking about it for a while, but there's no way in hell he's leaving her alone at home to deal with all of this. he's constantly worrying about her, especially when she can't work with them, and actually upgrades his phone for the first time in forever so he can text her more often and keep tabs on her, with her permission. and when she finally breaks and starts just sobbing and lowkey losing it, he's there the whole time, just holding and comforting her. and when owen goes after contessa, hotch has to force him to stay at the FBI because they both know that if spence is there, he won't hesitate to kill him.
