There was a time when Catalonia and her brother, Salazar, were worshipped and praised for their abilities. Cities were erected in their honour, sacrifices were made in their names. They were praised as conduits of the gods.

When it soured, they sought refuge elsewhere – far from Spain and the witchfinders who sought to persecute them for their gifts. It was in Scotland where they found the other like-minded witches and wizards who wished to forge a place of safety for their kind. And thus, Hogwarts was born.

Catalonia knew how fickle both time and magic were. She was reminded when it came the time of muggleborns – the people who had revered her, being placed alongside her on her pedestal. But she'd softened, never held them in contempt. Unlike Salazar.

He could not reconcile it in his mind, and believed that only those born of magic blood should be admitted into his home. He was disagreed with – also, to his chagrin, by his own sister. The only love in his life.

For she had other loves now – and she would rather forfeit Salazar than Hogwarts. Or Godric.
