resubbed to ffxiv and ive been thinking about post-6.0 ashen. i think he retires from being the wol and opens some sort of fixer/odd jobs agency because he's gained a ton of connections during his travels. she's working on a way to reliably travel to the first (my hc is that it's super tiring so she only does it when the msq makes her) to reunite with cyella + helping run skysteel manufactory + trying to buy out hancock from lolorito to be her secretary/boytoy. much to do

& btw ever since ysayle sacrificed herself ashen has been haunted by his belief that he somehow spurred her to commit suicide over her guilt about the deaths of her hand by sacrificing herself to somehow become a hero. and ever since then he's developed a strong aversion/emotional response to people being self-sacrificial/trying to redeem themselves through death. but when he saw her in the aitiascope she had nothing left at stake and she still protected him and the scions in battle anyway. and he realised that her sacrifice was not out of guilt but out of love

thinking about the rpr ashen au i have where after the final days starts happening and she visits the crystarium. she runs into cyella and tells her about everything and cyella offers to give her the last of her shadowkeeper powers in the form of a reaper pact because she technically fulfills the requirements for one. partly to keep ashen safe partly so that this time around she might succeed at saving the world (even if indirectly). third times the charm isnt it

wow isnt it cool how the void quests npcs become msq relevant and you get a cyella minion at the end of 6.55
