I made him a paper doll! You can dress him up in some of the canon outfits he wears in my book! Featured here is his regular outfit (a very soft cream colored sweater and some jeans), the outfit he wears to be bait to catch a serial killer (50s housewife clothes were the most modern femme clothes the theatre department had that weren't cocktail dresses that would make him faint from embarrassment), and the Criss Angel-esque outfit he wears when the protags try and make him cooler for their party (it doesnt work and he ends up wearing the sweater anyways).

A good bit late for this one, but I did want to get a quick holiday related drawing out as I thought it would be fun to do one! The piece includes my ocs Dravena the Deino and is also the drawing debut of Rye the Eevee, the main character of a oneshot I’m currently working on (and will hopefully eventually finish and post). I’m also hoping to get more art of both of them out in the future.

A bit of preface he was an NPC in a pathfinder campaign i was running for my friends, but after that ended i couldn't let him go so i started writing a book using the setting i had crafted.

Okay so he's a sylph (specifically a blizzard sylph), but more importantly his parents were going to be getting a divorce and it was rather messy. And he already had attachment issues but this just made it worse, so once night he prays, begging to anyone that could hear him to stop his parents from leaving him, as any twelve-ish year old would do given the circumstances. Sadly for him, the only goddess that heard his pleas was Nomuraea, the goddess of loneliness and isolation (among other things). A desperate kid, young Ampersand made a deal with her, giving him the power to do anything to keep people from abandoning him (given that it can be solved with freezing things, usually whoever is trying to leave). And the first thing he does with these powers is freeze his parents mid argument.

Now, as sylphs live a long time, he's had decades of freezing friends that were drifting away from him, since that's all he's known how to do since childhood. This has had negative effects on his wellbeing. Normal cold has no effect on him since he's a blizzard sylph, however, magical cold sucks the energy and life out of him (hence his hollow cheeks and see-through stomach). Whenever he's at home he has to bury himself under a dozen or so blankets in order to survive amidst all the magically frozen people he can't let go of.

Anyways, the plot starts when the two protagonists get wrapped up in Nomuraea's timeline bending plotweb after Ampersand freezes a girl at a party for rejecting him, because even something so small as "i just don't think we click" is enough to make him spiral. What he needs is therapy, but he's not gonna get it. He does end up dating this girl named Glimmer, but as all his relationships do, she ends up drifting away due to how lifeless he is most of the time. He freezes her, as he does with everyone, but this time the twin protags notice, since Glimmer was a good friend of theirs too.

They finally track him down to his house, see the frozen people, and put two and two together about all the disappearances including the girl from the party and Glimmer. They find Ampersand in the attic and fight him. The whole time Ampersand is begging them not to leave him, telling them that he was so worried about them finding out in case they left him too. 

The fight ends with him, as a last ditch attempt to keep his only friends to stay, unfreezes everyone in the house. This was a bad idea. Since he got these powers from the goddess of loneliness, him undoing all the magic was seen as him abandoning her. The goddess Nomuraea then freaks out and drags Ampersand to her realm.

This is where the campaign ended, but I have more plot in the book, but that starts getting confusing due to all the diverging plotlines (since the book's plot is the protagonists trying to figure out which timeline is the real one).

Some of the different plotbeats he's involved with include: him breaking himself out of Nomuraea's realm because he felt like his only two friends forgot about him (they were dealing with a mafia) which leads to him mirroring Nomuraea a bit by kidnapping one of the protagonists, him getting "released" by Nomuraea and permitted to return (only to be under her control still in the form or a makeup company's heiress's twin), and the true ending where the protagonists are finally able to rescue him because even after all of that, he was still their friend and they love him.

His name was originally going to be "Hans Anderson" (yaknow, like hans christian anderson, author of the snow queen) but then i pronounced it like hans from frozen on accident and one of my players pointed that out, and i didnt want them to figure out the freeze-y thing session one so i on the fly changed his first name to Andy, leading them to calling him And Squared for a bit before settling on his nickname being Ampersand. His parents are named Hans and Christy though.

hes rather tall (5'10) and lanky as heck (from all that time in the freezing cold house that saps all life from him). His hair has different textures depending on how cold he is (ranging from freshly powered snow when he's warm to snow that has melted and refrozen when he's cold). fun fact under that oversized cream sweater his skin is see-through (i describe it as being like a glass frog's stomach). his organs are a darker periwinkle and his bones are a stark titanium white.
