#oc: Two-Worlds

Two-Worlds (grown ass woman) is sapient, a person; she grew up in Ninjago, surrounded by humans in a world that often treated her like an animal. Prior to gaining access to her people’s home realm, she had a bit of a crisis and got the Wonderful idea to run away from Wu & co. to live with a pack of Actual wild animals (non-sapient) that are cladistically close to her people. Sort of like if a human ran off to live with a troupe of gorillas or bonobos. Basically, she felt she might as well give up on “pretending” to be a person and just start being an animal like most of Ninjago expected her to.

…she came to her senses when one of the animals started trying to court her. lmao

Sorry this is late and probs gonna be long but I am going to take this opportunity to yap about Two-Worlds. My beloved ninjorgo oc . If that is ok . And also yap about her parallels with Riyu

The second half of this post is basic background info..

(Minor additional background info: “hent” is a term I’ve coined to be a ninjagoverse common name for Amphicyonids. Irl paleontologists have given them “bear-dog” as a common name, but seeing as 1) “bear-dog” is also the name of a breed of domestic dog, 2) other large carnivoran groups get their own special word that isn’t made up of other species’ names (wolf, cat, bear, those are all unique names for these groups) and 3) amphicyonids are not extinct in my Ninjago hc, i thought it would make sense to give them their own unique common name, seeing as.. like.. ninjagoverse peoples have coexisted with hents long enough for entomology to do its thing.)

SOOOO Two-Worlds is a Creaturan hent whose mother was a fascist dictator within Creatura for a while and whose father was a prisoner of war at the time Two was born . So he went dimension-hopping to hide baby Two when she was less than a month old, left her in the desert wreckage of the Destiny’s Bounty, and then just bounced. When Zane finds the Bounty in s1, he’s the first thing Two sees when she opens her eyes for the first time.

The other ninja are stoked cuz “HOLY SHIT PET HENT CUB MASTER WU CAN WE KEEP IT” not knowing that this is the equivalent of finding like. A human baby abandoned in the desert. She was still baby enough that she acted like an animal so the gang was none the wiser for a little while. They named her Whiskers <3

Then shit got real weird. She started copying the ninjas’ habits and mannerisms n shit. At first it was cute, but then she was starting to do shit like stand up on two legs staring ominously in dark hallways.

Of course, things started to make sense when she got bigger for her age than a cub of any hent species in the realm… and of course when she started talking. If there were any doubts she wasn’t a regular hent before, this settled them.

Before Lloyd and Nya were ninja, Whiskers was often staying behind with them n Wu, so all three of them had that longing to be included in something. Then Lloyd became a ninja… then Nya… then she just felt pretty left behind. By this time, she was already fully grown— about twice human height at the shoulder.

(Lloyd for comparison. Her right ear is damaged, permanently floppy after helping fight the stone warrior army in s2.)

And she wasn’t getting ninja training, either. So she just felt too big and awkward and dangerous living in a world that quite literally wasn’t built for her. She felt useless. Sound familiar? *looks at how often I yap about Riyu’s feelings of inadequacy stemming from very similar sources*

Anyway she felt reeeeally out of place. She knew by then through Wu and Misako that she’s Creaturan, but she had no way to get there until like… post-s6. At that point she travels to Creatura andddd finds out she looks just like her supervillain mother and has to go on this whole adventure proving her innocence and running from Creaturan royal authorities. During this she grapples with a whole new sense of feeling out-of-place, meets one of my buddy’s ocs, discovers her powers, and acquires the title Whiskers of Two Worlds (aka Two-Worlds. Or, if you’re family, just Two). She got the new name idea from her friend, as most typical Creaturan names/titles come from an attribute or accomplishment of the individual. Shortly after (either before or during HoT..) she moves to Creatura full-time as a protector of the realm, visiting her family in Ninjago whenever possible.

And man. I think about her meeting Riyu postmerge alllllll the time. Thinking of them chatting over food or something, and he mentions his experiences, his insecurities, and she looks back at him seeing nothing but herself. She would feel insaneeee. …she would also possibly be able to learn some spinjitsu finally. On top of Creaturan fighting skills n whatnot. Two-Worlds student Riyu arc when . cuz bro has not had much Rontu and Egalt training and i doubt Lloyd can train a large quadruped (aka Riyu) as well as a large quadruped could (aka Two).

The first comic takes place before the two started dating. Shrimpo is really really really bad at expressing emotions other than anger and frustration, so anytime he tries to express anything, he just blurts out his feelings without thinking. Then he gets second-hand embarrassment lol. Glisten was pretty aware that Shrimpo liked him before, but he's pretending to be surprised to make Shrimpo "feel better" (also to mildly embarrass him lol).

Also, I think that Shrimpo and Glisten bonding over hating Finn is very based and true. They need that autistic man to SHUT UP/silly

I think Shrimpo and Finn are very cousin coded. Not close enough to be siblings but definitely got some familial genes going on imo (plz don't shoot me Shrimpbowl shippers🙏🙏🙏) Doesn't stop Shrimpo from being violent towards Finn tho, and Finn does nothing to deter it lol (he finds it funny). Also, Glisten throws no punches bc he doesn't want to get his hands dirty.

The second image takes place the day after this post lol. Shrimpo is recovering from a hangover covered in lipstick kisses and super conflicting emotions and Finn is NOT helping.

On the other end, I've been thinking about Shimmer a lot lol. So here is a doodle of her with her "sister aunt" Toodles, and Pebbles.

They all get along super well. In this pic, Toodles is like 12ish and Shimmer is 4 (but her weird biology made her age up to like 7 here). Pebble is pebble, that's all you need to know.

Also, I was in a horror-ish mood earlier so here are some Twisteds <33 (below cut cuz kinda scary):

I love you angst comfort. My sib pointed out while playing one day that Shrimpo looked traumatized as a Twisted, which like, fair, but it make me think.

Glisten: "They say you are not here anymore. But I think you are."

I had this silly idea that Twisted Shrimpo was infected by Dandy personally, and that whole conflict got Shrimpo's lower jaw ripped off. He is very violent and volatile, and very hard to calm down. But, when he runs into a twisting Glisten alone and scared, he comforts him (to the best of his ability).

Since Glisten is still able to be somewhat conscious, he realizes that the Twisteds are actually not completely gone like he originally thought, and it helps him keep his sanity longer, hoping for a way out for everyone.

Willpower is a crazy thing.

On the complete opposite note, I love you horrifying freak of ichor child.

Since Shimmer was made from the ichor itself with no sort of skeleton or solid foundation, her condition is very unstable. And the problem is that her body is affected by her emotions. On a bad day, she can suffer from lots of pain and her body literally melting away. That's when she hides out and waits for her body to stabilize again.

When she completely twists, her body completely falls apart, becoming a puddle of ichor on the ground. If she was an encounterable twisted, she would work like Sprout's puddle root things, but easier to maneuver around and avoid. Also, her antenna glow.

Will you ever have pups? Or well, more a so if you ever have the option to have pups or find a pup, would you have them/keep them? Speaking of the trauma that you have had of you losing contact with your sibling and your mother, and you being left behind, you must have some fear of the idea of having/keeping pups with you right? Would you be afraid that if you had or kept a pup, that it might happen again, like history repeats or something? That you might lose the pup or such? Sorry this is a long ask!

Two-Worlds is a hent (speculative etymological ninjagan term for amphicyonids, aka bear-dogs… google em, they’re pretty cool and not extinct in the Ninjago universe in my mind palace/hc zone) hailing from my friend’s fan-realm called Creatura. She’s not actually supposed to be in a humanoid form, it was artificially induced via magic. Her true form is much larger and much more quadrupedal like other creaturans (who just look like oversized, strangely colored but otherwise normal animals). She prefers this form though because she was raised in Ninjago around exclusively humans and got some body dysmorphia out of it… and as for why she’s a cowboy, it’s because she felt like it. She’s been wandering the merged lands searching for her scattered friends and family.

Chloe is a Fangpyre serpentine, and she looks pretty lizard-y because for some reason Fangpyre are more monitor lizard-ish than snake-ish in my head. She’s got special interests in pop culture and history, particularly human pop culture and ways in which human and serpentine history interact. Girlie is like a walking archive. Since the merge she’s been wanting to digitize and transcribe what remains of non-digitized archives and libraries, as the merge has made her all the more aware of how often natural disasters can destroy physical/recorded history. She’s pretty thrilled that Lloyd’s letting her digitize/transcribe scrolls in the monastery.

Alcyo is a master of an element i Made The Fuck Up for fun: mist. It’s a running gag that ppl (including him way back when) hear there’s elements of smoke and mist and go “…what’s the difference?” lmao. He’s no fighter, but still wanted help/training to use his element, and that’s how he knew Ash. He’s a geosciences guy like me and has been freaking out over . Well. Everything (lol he inspired that post) since the merge. He’s been getting together with ppl like him from across the merged realms (that is, geosci, eco, etc ppl who are as alarmed as he is) in order to document all the shit going on with the planet now as well as try to plan remediation efforts. I imagine governments have been a bit hesitant to work with a rogue group of jittery sleep deprived scientists but they (Alcyo’s ppl) try. I imagine they are the ones making the new maps and shit like that as well. He just wants to go back to his old day jobs and see Ash again. Sorry buddy, you can only have one of those back lmao

Elapis is a hypnobrai who’s been friends with Chloe since childhood. They’re significantly more jaded and pessimistic than she is but they’ve always appreciated her encouragement to pursue music. He probably knows how to play quite a few instruments but he’s usually That Asshole With A Guitar in my brain lmao. He likes learning about other peoples as much as Chloe does though (albeit through music scenes rather than reading) which is why the two became friends. He doesn’t know where she’s gone since the merge and hopes he can see her again one day. He’s found her siblings but not her, and it’s been pretty frustrating. Other than that, they’ve passed the time by jamming with all sorts of people at the Crossroads. Arin and Sora might have seen them around, performing.
