premise: a timeline that diverges several years before ours where a significant minority of the population across the world contracted strange illnesses that led to various magical powers; focuses on the Eastern United States (aka what im familiar with). themes of disabled justice and solidarity.

alison (he/him): evil CEO (maybe also politician?) looking to take advantage of superpowered people for his own gain. especially young, powerful superpowered people. i do not know how to write villains tbh

high fantasy: the world of An

premise: weird mix of some of the history i'm interested in, with a technological level of around the 1840s to 1860s? focuses on a governmental transition from absolute monarchy to parliamentary democracy and the greater inclusion of ethnic minorities in the political system and society as a whole. the people are sorta kemonomimi-hobbits with mammalian and insectoid features. also has eldritch shit going on in its magic system.

these are some of my oldest characters and have changed a lot, their original concept was a "five elements" thing and that still shows through.

the names are based on my conlang :> i didnt try to make the romanizations look pretty, just functional, so uhh ⟨v⟩ is a schwa and most letters correspond with IPA values but idk if thats accessible. here ill replace j with y and v with whatever letter looks best, you can see the mess of the "official" spellings in the tags. they dont exactly have a gender system like ours so pronouns are what i imagine they'd use if raised in our culture and language yk

baa'oni (they/she): activist reviving the long-suppressed/erased (idk what the right word is) life-related magic practices of their ancestors. name translates to "sundew"

lausa (she/her): noble who uses her position of power to help incite change, eventually becomes prime minister. romantically involved with baa’oni, causing suspicion and controversy. name translates to "shadower"

laanya (they/them): self insert. former water magic student reconnecting to it after trauma, also tries to get involved in activism. name translates to "river delta"

treyii (they/she/he): young and uncertain, pressure is put on him to achieve great things and they don't know where to belong. name translates to "sparks"

unnamed character referred to as "wind guy" (they/he): a vengeful prince with command over the weather.

star wars

premise: focuses on jedi fighting in the clone wars. i mostly made these characters in quarantine lol

aiya (they/xe): twi'lek anakin skywalker on a budget. padawan during the clone wars, becomes an inquisitor.

rakiss (she/they): mirialan; Aiya's fellow padawan and very close to xem. killed in O66

haalas (he/him): togruta; aiya's strict master, very loyal to the light side of the force itself and scared of losing another padawan to the dark side. survives O66, but is eventually killed by aiya, who blames him for rakiss's death.

malice (they/she/it): dathomiran zabrak who was the first padawan of haalas. left the order and turned to the dark side, but isn't with the Sith.

ekiv (she/her): rakiss's master, also a mirialan, and longtime friend of haalas. mom friend, but only because she's a people pleaser with massive gifted kid burnout. survives O66; assumes a new identity and learns how to heal.

hizta (any pronouns): tusken ex-bounty hunter who now runs a droid repair shop on coruscant. acquainted with aiya before and during the Clone Wars, aids the Rebellion.

penelope (she/they): human; old colleague of Hizta's. generally fairly cold and professional until you get to know them; actually very affectionate.

1. Write a basic lowdown of your OC. What's their deal?

#14, Bataea!

tl;dr dog girl! She's not a Valiant or anything but one of her best friends is a Kennelmaster for the Wardens, which gave her solid access to an endless stream of fern hound pubbies to love on and help train. She's a ranger - specifically druid - which essentially translates into her being a vet alongside her partner fern hound Cornus, though she has a mischievous streak a mile wide and loves to travel doing various odd jobs and getting into all sorts of trouble as a self-described "adventurer" when her training/healing services aren't needed.

Her story is also tied into Sterasa's, another 'sylvari' ranger I have - her friendly and outgoing personality led to them being fast friends even if Sterasa was unsure at first, and entirely because of the bond they came to share did Sterasa choose to forsake her original mordrem infiltration mission and shield Bataea, her fern hounds, and their other friends from the full brunt of Mordremoth's Call.

6. How do they celebrate the holidays, if at all?

She's often too wrapped up in her work to pay much attention to specific dates/holidays, but the one and only exception to this is Wintersday, which also happens to be when her birthday is (though that part barely matters to her). She's very refined in her celebration of the season, usually simply strolling through Divinity's Reach in the quiet evenings after she's done with work, taking in the atmosphere with a warm cup of cocoa in hand. One thing she does every year without fail though is stop by the Queen's Heart Orphanage and Vanguard Hospital to check in on those who her work most affects, leaving anonymous donations and small gifts in her wake.

15. What would they be doing if they weren't the commander/whatever they are?

#9, Beldahvia!

Her current personality and identity hinges entirely on how she was treated after a very specific event with her ex, and so the only way she wouldn't be what she is now is if that event never happened. So, let's rewind the clock back to then and erase the attack that blinded her. Either way her relationship would've crumbled as both her and her boyfriend were horrid little shits to each other and everyone around them, and so she would've continued taking her one true friend (that in the real timeline would go on to become her girlfriend) for granted until she pushed her away too, leaving her to be ultimately successful in her dreams of becoming a high-profile fashion designer but absolutely obnoxious and miserable to be around socially. Without any kind of strong emotional connection to anchor herself to, when Mordremoth's Call went out she absolutely would've turned instantly and been lost forever as just another nameless mordrem mowed down in the campaign against the dragon. tl;dr BAD END

The music was flowing through the large room as people danced, clapped and laughed. Right in the middle of the large crowd of people there was an empty circle, usually for those who wanted to show off what they got.

«Come on, papa! One dance!» Catriona asked, trying to drag her father out of his chair. But the man didn’t budge. «Pretty please», she was begging now, giving him her famous puppy dog eyes that she knew he couldn’t resist.

«Go on, Pierre, dance with your daughter», her mother, Francoise said, smiling at her husband. By the look on his face, Pierre had already been won over when their daughter gave him those pleading eyes.

«Alright, pétale», he sighed, getting out of his chair and letting Catriona lead him through the crowds. It wasn’t that Pierre wasn’t a dancer, because he was very good at it, he just didn’t like showing off very much.

He spun her around, making her laugh whole heartedly. «Just like I was a child, papa!» She noted, letting him lead her in the dance.

Pierre would do anything for his daughter, that much was known. That being said, he would do anything for his wife too, but like him, Francoise was a vampire, and thus could take more care of herself. Didn’t mean he didn’t still worry for her safety. But their daughter was a daemon, saved by faith or chance of luck, or magic, when she was only a baby. She was found by the two of them a few hours later when she cried out for, well anyone. So naturally, he would be extremely protective of Catriona.

Looking back to where her mother sat, Catriona had a half a mind to go drag her out on the floor too, when her eyes landed on a tall man standing by Francoise. «Papa, who’s that with maman?» She asked. She already recognized Matthew and Ysabeau, friends of her parents.

He looked to where his wife sat. «You already know Ysabeau and Matthew», he said, but then noticed others had joined in. «Let me introduce you then.» Pierre took his daughter’s hand back in his and lead her to where Francoise was sitting.

«Catriona! Vibrant as always», Matthew mused, kissing both of Cat’s cheeks, making her smile up at him. She smiled in return and greeted him before he turned her attention to the blonde woman standing next to him. «This is my wife, Dr. Diana Bishop. Diana, this is Francoise and Pierre’s daughter, Catriona», he said, introducing the two women.

She took Diana’s hand and shook it. «You’re a witch, and a pretty powerful one at that», Catriona said in amazement, feeling the bolts magic tingle on her fingers. Seeing everyone’s eyes were on her, in their inner group at least, Catriona blushed. «It’s—it’s nice to meet you Diana.»

Diana smiled and nodded, «It’s nice to meet you too.» Diana then turned Cat’s attention to the redhead next to her, «This is my aunt, Sarah Bishop.» Catriona and Sarah shook hands, both studying each other’s face.

The man who had caught Catriona’s attention in the first place was next, holding out his hand for her to take. «I’m Gallowglass, Matthew’s nephew», he said, his voice deep, and very Scottish, a breath of fresh air for Catriona who had been raised by French. «You look incredible. And you move so stunningly.» He said, but then stopped himself, looking to Pierre and Francoise.

«Would you like to dance, Gallowglass?» Catriona asked, having not taken her eyes off him since their hands had touched. He seemed to look back to her parents, and then nodded, letting Catriona lead the way.

Where her father had moved carefully, Gallowglass danced how one should when dancing to the music currently playing in the room. She felt so alive in his arms, giggles escaping her lips as he picked her up and held him there while he spun, her arms out as if she was flying.

There was a glint in Gallowglass’ eyes, amusement and wonder shining through as he lowered her back down to the floor, taking her hands back in his as they went on, bouncing around as more and more people joined in. And then they moved closer together, one arm around the other’s abdomen, spinning together, eyes locked in an everlasting staring contest that neither wanted to end.

The comments made by their families going unheard by her human hearing, but Gallowglass smiled to himself, «They seem to be a good fit, don’t you think Pierre?» He heard Fernando say, and he grinned even wider, catching Catriona’s attention.

«What’s so funny?» She asked, wonder etched on her delicate face. Gallowglass shrugged, cupping her cheek with one hand while the other was on her hip. She fixed her blue eyes on his own once more, both her hands going to rest on his chest. «Tell me to stop, and I will», she murmured, leaning in further, their lips mere inches away from each other.

When Gallowglass didn’t make a point to move away, she closed the gap between them, kissing him softly, but just as quickly as she had kissed him, Catriona moved back, studying his face. «Don’t stop on my behalf», he murmured, making her laugh.

Looking around them, she blushed once more. «Maybe we should keep it pg, since there’s people around, some of those including our families.» Now he was the one to laugh, agreeing with what she said, but still leaning in to steal another kiss.

«We can pick this up later when we’re alone.» That made her gasp, loving the thought of being alone with him.

«I’d like that very much.»
