❗️for Drisco, I need to know more about him PLEASE
❗️: What was the scariest moment of your character’s life? Does it still affect them?
You’d expect the answer to be the moment he died, but Drisco wasn’t really scared then. For him, then, he felt more betrayed and regretful.
The moment where Drisco really felt the most fear was when he met Castarian.
Drisco was deep in the forest, then, on the hunt for magical creatures to study. Draped with heavy cloaks, he had abandoned his fancy clothes for the occasion, but he still wore his trademark mask.
He’d made many trips like this before, but this was the first time he’d ever seen such a specimen.
Hulking, boar-like, and yet bipedal… Drisco had never seen something like it before. He wasn’t far enough into the forest to encounter the fae. Yet he has no idea what else it could be.
He had to capture it.
So he set a trap with the limited materials he had.
Long story short, it didn’t go well.
He tried attacking the beast from behind, but in a feat of sheer strength, the boar-man threw him off its back and slammed him to the ground. With the wind knocked out of him, Drisco didn’t have time to register the fact that his mask had been ripped off his face.
He realized a second later, but it was too late- the creature, eyes boring down on him, had surely seen his face. It was a massive, imposing figure, rising and falling with deep, angry breaths, and Drisco’s heart went cold at the sheer amount of fury pressed onto him at that moment.
He was vulnerable, he realized. For the first time in his life, he had underestimated the forces he was dealing with. He’d been unmasked, and his foe had gotten the better of him.
Drisco was lucky that the beast didn’t kill him. Instead, it apologized and returned the mask, and Drisco came to know him as Castarian, a man turned into a half-boar beast by the fae. The two became fast acquaintances, with Drisco offering to use a glamour spell to give Castarian the appearance of being human again.
What he never let Castarian know was that it was all a means to serve his ends. The moment Drisco had calmed, he had swore to himself that Castarian would pay the price for seeing his face, and the only suitable price would be the boar-man’s life.

OH WAIT lemme post that infodump from Discord I had about some cool OC ideas I had
So I have had slight story/worldbuilding ideas after the fact, but this was all the base stuff. the below is copied directly from Discord
Okay so I got some OC ideas from a dream
It was a little complex but let me just go over the basic outline
The thing took place in a castle repurposed into an theme park. there were a lot of circus/clown aesthetics, which ties in to one of the characters I dreamt about
The main character wasn't me. The person experiencing everything was this unnamed silver-haired femboy. But not much about their character was shown in the dream
The other characters were ghosts
The first one was named in the dream. His name was Castarian, and I LOVE HIM he's a sweetie. so nice and anxious and sad but still helpful to the protag. He stayed in one room and never showed himself, but did his best to direct and give hints to the protag. I was starting to get hints on why he hid himself when I woke up, but I still knew enough to come up with stuff on my own
The second one wasn't named, but I decided he should be called Drisco. This BITCH. he was trapped in a mirror, but an essential part of the dream was talking and interacting with him. he's one of the classic jester type characters, and he looks kinda like Harlequin (he has a black and white mask, his stupid little clown clothes are black and red, and he has the aesthetic of card suits). his main goal was to be freed from the mirror, but since the protag didn't trust him, he just played games with them in there instead
Despite him being dead and stuck in a mirror, he has incredible access to dark magic. literally the darkest part of the dream was making a goddamn blood sacrifice to him so the protag could revive someone from the dead. option one was the protag's own mother (if I remember correctly, the protag's main goal of the dream was to find someway in the castle to bring her back from the dead?), next was Drisco himself, and the third option was Castarian
the protag didn't trust their mother in Drisco's hands and didn't want to release him, so they chose Castarian. they wanted to see what he looked like and thank him for he help :)
Drisco just laughed and was like "Cassie? Him? Really? Okay, I'll go talk to him!"
and Drisco disappeared for a while to talk to Castarian. Castarian was not happy to talk to Drisco, but when Drisco talked about reviving him and why the protag wanted to do it, Castarian got really anxious about them seeing him.
Drisco got bored and reminded Castarian that in order to complete the ritual, they needed something intangible in exchange for reviving him. Castarian told him that he'll owe a favor, because he wants Drisco to cover up what he looks like with an illusion as well. Drisco started to demand more, but Castarian demanded he do that. Reluctantly, Drisco complied
and then I WOKE UP. So mad about that I wanted to interact with Castarian more :( he's my boy
but I did get a glimpse of what Castarian looked like! he was part human, part boar. kind of looked like how people draw Technoblade, but the burly version where he's big and furry. his fur was a light brown and he was very VERY fluffy and soft
he was so anxious to hide himself because he thought the protag would be scared of him. he was killed by people who thought he was a monster, stabbing him through the heart. so when Drisco did revive him, Drisco hid him in an illusion of a human. Drisco would pettily antagonize Castarian for this
Castarian used to be human, but he gained the favor of a fey who blessed him with the strength of a boar, and welp here he is. they also blessed him in another way- to help with how terrible he was at being assertive, every demand he made to someone magically enforce someone to do what he ordered. Castarian learned to be careful with his wording and instead phrase things as helpful suggestions so he didn't accidentally force someone to obey a command
but Drisco's illusion wasn't even Castarian's true human form? he had long messy hair as a human, but Castarian has become so anxious about his self-image that Drisco covers him up with a neater, clean-cut, "perfect" version of him.
my conclusions from the dream are that Castarian is a lovely boy. he's anxious because he's like 9 feet tall in his boar form and super burly and strong now and horrifying enough for people to kill him for being a monster. but he's so fluffy and so sweet,,, I wanna pet him fr
Drisco's a bitch. funky little gay guy with some nuance to him, but has that chaotic clown bastard energy.
he and Castarian's interactions have a weird divorced vibe. these bitches have so much tension between them and it's so funny. Drisco knows he'll get destroyed in a fight with Castarian (especially while he's in boar form) so he manipulates Castarian's self-hatred to make him feel bad :(

I unfortunately lack the time right now to go through the list, so use this as an excuse to answer any of the OC questions you want. If none in particular, answer every single one.
(cracks knuckles) Here we go :)
This is the OC ask list, by the way!
I’m gonna answer them all so…. Be prepared.
And, Doll and Grace, if you’re reading this since you got pinged, hi. Forgive me, there’s a lot of text under this cut.
Doll, you were mentioned because I discussed shipping OCs.
Grace, you were mentioned because I wanted to share your Sketch design with the world.
Love ya. Sorry. Let’s get on with it.
Your Oldest OC:
That title would probably have to go to Rynne! I’ve had her for several years now, and she originated as a cringe sona-but-not-it’s-like-me-but-a-sadist-with-a-scythe sorta characters. Gosh, she’s so old, I have no relevant art to show of her!
Your Newest OC:
It’s been a while since I’ve developed a truly new OC…so it’d have to be Drisco and Castarian. They debuted in the mind at the same day, but Castarian made an appearance later so technically he’s the newest!
Tumblr media
Favorite OC:
I don’t have an overall favorite… but I do pick and choose favorites from each story I have. A couple of my favorites include Maroon, Jay, Switch, Dislan, and Rynne.
Any Villain OCs?
Go read Masked.
Plenty! Outlander, of course, but we can’t forget Dhá-Aghaidh, Jynx, or Dr. Kruger, now can we?
Main Reason For Making OCs:
Mostly for story reasons that spawn. However, I do have fandom OCs, (and some of them happen to be the most well-known!) but I will inevitably end up working them into a story. OCs spawning from roleplay is a rare sight, and it’s only happened once… believe it or not, that’s how Karmin came into existence!
Describe Your Character Creation Process:
Step 1: Concept for a silly guy comes into my brain.
Step 2: Come up with a basic design for them to be changed later.
Step 3: Inflict soul-crushing pain.
Step 4: Have so much fun inflicting pain that I have to remind myself that it’s supposed to be a story. Suffer without coming up with actual story elements.
Step 5: Receive divine inspiration and everything comes together and I’m so fucking back baby.
Repeat Steps 5 and 6 until done.
Fav OC Ship:
Castarian and Drisco. They’re not a couple, but they have feelings for each other. They each blame each other for their deaths and refuse to see the other’s way. They separated themselves and feel the crushing loneliness l, but when they’re together they can’t stop arguing.
Drisco wants nothing more than to HURT Castarian, but only HE can hurt him, no one else, since he is the only person Castarian has wronged.
Castarian hates Drisco’s facades, violence, and methods, but those are what helped him in life. Drisco holds the power to make Castarian feel good about himself… and he’s dependent on that.
Do You Ship Your OCs With Someone Else’s OCs:
For everyone else who doesn’t know, my OC Jaide gets to be in a doomed yuri with Sky (the asker’s OC!! Hi Marci <3)
But I do have quite a few characters shipped with those belonging to @corrupted-tale. Like my OC Dislan and her OC Pix. And my Narrator with her Lady Luck.
Weirdest OC:
I’d have to say Bi Solomon earns that title. He’s a fascist furry who reinvented capitalism in a post-apocalyptic world. (And by furry I do mean he’s a Creature btw).
Favorite OC Design:
I REFUSE to let that achievement go to Drisco so Night! ILY Night!!!! You’re so cool and gender and badass!!
Tumblr media
Not the greatest picture of it, since it actually has 4 arms and a cool-ass sickle… but oh well.
Would You Consider Yourself Nice To Your OCs:
Go read Masked.
Haha, not at all. They all suffer underneath my thumb, no matter how beloved they are :)
An OC You’ve Killed:
The easy answer are OCs like Jaide, Levi, Drisco, and Castarian, since they’re ghosts and that’s their whole gimmick.
It’s actually rare for me to kill off OCs and leave them forever, since I feel like they die before their potential is fulfilled. But the previously mentioned fascist furry Solomon dies (good riddance), and I have a pantheon of gods that get slaughtered in a different story!
Are Any Of Your OCs Parents:
Go Read Ma
Besides Jaide, I do have some others! I have a royal family group of OCs, with King Leonard and Queen Beatrice being parents to a chaotic group of kids.
Dr. Kruger, while not physically being a dad, is burdened with being a single father as punishment for being too William Afton core.
Are There Any OCs You Find Yourself Neglecting:
Each OC has gotten their time in the spotlight, but I haven’t developed all of the characters from that royal family. And I have waning interest if the cast of Ora and the Rift in Time…
There are concept OCs I neglect since I dunno what to do with them. Like Brittlebrine. He started off as a cool concept for exactly one day and then I never thought about him again. And I’m still conflicted on Devon…..
An OC that’s difficult to write/draw/rp:
Vipsi’s hard to write, despite having little screentime. She lost her mind, but I don’t entirely know how to write insanity arcs. Not to mention that I didn’t really know how their story should go…
My entire godly pantheon is difficult for me to draw (except for Lux, since I’ve had her design figured out). I don’t have finalized designs for some of the less important gods, but the design ideas are difficult…
Out of the few OCs I’ve roleplayed, Karmin has been the most difficult (which is ironic, considering she originated from one). I have to actively consider what is going on in her brain and how to present it in a good way. But it’s okay since she’s only ever been in two rps ever.
Your Tallest & Shortest OCs:
My shortest is probably Gemi! He’s less than 4 feet tall. Truly a little guy.
And my eldritch being OCs are the tallest. In their most incomprehensible forms, they’re about 40-70 feet tall? It fluctuates, since they’re impossible to comprehend. But they’re very large.
Your Oldest and Youngest OCs:
As much as I’d like to say my youngest is Levi, he was born 500 years before Masked present! That means that Ora is likely my youngest, being 7 or 8.
Just like with height, my eldritch being OCs take the cake for being the oldest. They’re all billions of years old, except for Thirio and Tsumi. Epithymia is the oldest of them all, but if Nova were still alive, he would’ve won the crown.
Do You Dislike Any Of Your OCs?
Mr. Bi Solomon deserved that bullet to the brain. See you in hell, you corporate motherfucker.
Have You Ever Made A Self-Insert?
Oh yeah. My sona Doodle doubles as a self-insert when I don’t want to make an entirely new character with a flat personality since they’re based on me.
Branching off of Doodle thanks to some sort of evolution is a self-insert named Sketch. Sketch is what happens when I want to ship myself with characters, but they will be the star of the SPM fic I have planned!
Here is the current design for them, made by the lovely @gracebeth3604! (Cropped to avoid spoilers </3)
Tumblr media
An OC Regret:
I have OCs that spawned from ideas that I didn’t fully know how to handle well, or problematic media. They were all from when I was younger, though, so all is forgiven and those OCs have been sent to the fiery oblivion.
Weeeelp that’s all of it! If you’ve read this all, I’m super impressed! Thank you so much, but you’re gonna forget all this. I hope it was worth it to you! ❤️

(If you saw me answer the wrong question uh no you didn’t.)
14. Is there a secret thing your character longs to hear?
“I miss you.”
Alternatively, “I miss what we had.”
Drisco certainly isn’t lacking in the confidence department. He’s self-assured and cocky, and believes him to be better than the other resident ghost: Castarian.
But if Castarian were to say that to him? To let him know that after all these centuries, Castarian loathes their schism? To know that all this enmity between them can’t quell the longing for the other?
I think Drisco would have to start feeling unsure of himself.

Note
what if you talk a bit more about that gay little jester you put in a mirror that would be funny i think
i forgot his name lol hehdgdhshdgdg
Oh yeah I’ll talk more about him. I’ll GLADLY talk more about Drisco. He likes the attention, too!
Origin and Design
Drisco and his rival/counterpart/toxic yaoi partner Castarian both originated in a dream I had. While Castarian was named, Drisco wasn’t, so I had to come up with something myself. It rhymes with “disco” but my intention was to derive something from “discord”.
So he’s one of the newest, and one of my more favored designs, since I’ve gotten better at designing OCs. I only have his top half planned out, since that’s mostly what appears, and the attempt at his bottom half isn’t set in stone…. But here he is!
Tumblr media
Maybe I’ll give him stupid little pointed shoes with bells on the end.
Story
In life, he was the jester for some nobleman- he preferred that over working for a king, because he got juuuust the right amount of attention.
While I don’t have a lot of story planned out for this world , I do have a concept for their religion/magic system. It’s heavily based on flowers and their magical or divine properties. A lot of flower-based products are sold at markets because of their importance. They can be used for protective charms, healing salves, scents, etc. Alchemy is a major factor in their scientific and magical developments.
Drisco, however, dedicated his life to studying magic dealing with blood. This magic was darker and considered taboo, but he recognized it as the other side of the coin of the holy flowers. They’re both natural substances and, if applied correctly, have magic properties, and therefore have worth to any god(s) they believed in.
So Drisco learned how to control blood. He learned summoning rituals, ways to puppeteer people, ways to cast illusions, etc. He learned what was thought unethical to figure out- what the worth of a human soul is.
He studied this in the shadows of his jester life. Every so often he’d make trips into the forest to gather materials and stop at towns to put on a show. He met Castarian that way- in a fae-riddled forest. I might talk about the circumstances of their meeting and their complicated relationship sometime else; there’s a lot to it.
Anyway. Drisco eventually got caught studying this sinful magic. And so, he was executed, and just to make extra sure he couldn’t cause more harm, his spirit was cursed into a mirror. (Castarian died as a result of his death, too. Again, it’s complicated.)
The mirror was transported to an abandoned fort and covered with a cloth. Drisco, sentient as a spirit, couldn’t see out of the mirror with it covered. He spent centuries in darkness… and as someone who’s so fond of attention, that… that wore him down a little.
But he did discover he could control the interior of the mirror. It could become any scene he liked! He could simulate any place he wanted- outdoors, indoors, doesn’t matter! But the frame of the mirror always stays the same amount of space behind him, no matter how far it looks like he’s gone. And nothing is real in the worlds he create- he can’t feel the sun on his skin or breathe in fresh air anymore.
One day, the mirror was uncovered. And he was overjoyed. Immediately he started talking to the person who uncovered the mirror- only to quickly discover they couldn’t see him. And again, his hopes fell.
But even as they left, the mirror stayed uncovered. He could finally glimpse the room he was left in! It was… dusty and old and in the process of being cleaned up as a tourist space, but it was better than a black nothingness!
He also learned that Castarian, as a ghost, hangs out in the same fort. Somehow, as a spirit, he’d followed Drisco here and hadn’t left his side. At first, Drisco was touched…until he learned that it was because Castarian blamed him for his death and had waited all this time to yell at him. Whatever friendship they had dissolved as they argued.
Drisco is furious at Castarian (again, for complicated reasons), and wants his revenge. It’s a little hard to avenge oneself when one is trapped in a mirror, though…
As more and more people trickle through the not-so abandoned fort, Drisco realizes that some people can see him. He talks to those people, and starts to manipulate them. He gets them in their own for a while and puts on an entertaining show- perhaps with lights set up in the background of the mirror and a giant wheel of fortune, all modern game show things with a medieval twist!
But he always rigs the games and cheats to win. Every single one of his participants dies after losing enough games and being forced to do a favor for him. Slowly he gains more power with every death, having his players draw their own spell circles on the ground that will spell their demise and give the value of their soul, blood, and flesh to Drisco.
And he loves it. It only he could get back at Castarian….
Other Notes
If I could fully figure out the mechanics of Drisco’s game show, I think he’d be VERY fun to roleplay, especially if everything was left up to chance.
Despite his sadistic demeanor, Drisco had actually been very lonely. His shows are not only spectacular because he’s fruity, he’s also trying to capture your attention and make you stay. He only kills people he gets bored with- or if they had some really, really bad luck in his games.
And speaking of him being fruity, this man is gay. That’s right, he’s one of them homosexuals. He has a crush on Castarian (but it’s more of an obsession), but if you get on his good side and stick around a lot… he might get attached to you. I think he could definitely settle for more than one partner.
Unfortunately, he’s well aware that he’s good-looking and that people want to kiss him. And he WILL use this to manipulate people. But interact at your own risk.
Also when he gets mad, I think he should be allowed to look increasingly demonic, as a treat.
I made a drawing of him recently that’s my current Discord pfp!
TW: Some blood
Tumblr media
That’s all!
…for now. Knowing him, this won’t be the last time I talk about him.

OC Fact #57
Since I was Castarian-posting last night, it's only fair if I talk more about Drisco.
Drisco's all for those evil jester vibes, even if he can't outwardly be evil when he's busy jestering. He likes studying demonic and dark magic- all things considered taboo by the state. If no one else is going to research them, why shouldn't he?
Despite his work with death and sacrificial rituals, he still has an appreciation for life and the world around him. One of his favorite things to do are to take expeditions to gather more materials. He always spends a few moments just standing there at the edge of the more magical parts of forests, eyes closed, feeling the sunshine and breathing in the fresh air, and just enjoying the sensation of living.

OC Fun Fact #56
Oh boy! OCs I haven't thought about in a hot minute!
Castarian is a human that gained favor from the fey (I haven't yet figured that part out). They granted him the strength of a mighty boar, and the ability to command people with confidence.
It took him until the next day to remember that he has to be careful with a fey's wording, since he woke up partially transformed as a boar. With a crown of thorns adorning him, a now monstrous body, and the ability to give people commands they can't turn down, people thought he was a monster.
He fled to the forest to hide before he was gravely hurt, but the experience was still terrifying to him. The fey who gave him the boon meant well, but didn't understand how other humans would react.
Castarian didn't emerge from the forest for two years. That was when he met Drisco.

OC Fact #33
Got some cool OC inspiration from a dream a couple nights ago.
Two ghosts- Castarian and Drisco.
Castarian was a fey-"blessed" sweetheart that always hid what he looked like. Super polite, super helpful, super anxious. Best boy forever and ever.
Drisco was a jester themed after suits of cards (kinda looked like Harlequin I suppose) and was trapped in a mirror for being stinky in evil. Gay bastard energy.
Their dynamic with each other? Divorced. Not even married or in a relationship. They just act divorced.
I'm not sure if I'll develop them into a full story or characters? But they're honorary blorbos. Castarian especially. He gets a kiss on the forehead. Drisco can just starve.

Here's my additions and what I'm rethinking
Things that I need to rethink/figure out fully:
-The main character and their motivations
-The setting
-Drisco's "game", the rules, and his powers and abilities
The additional ideas I have don't continue the story much, but there's some extra character dynamics and worldbuilding:
-When Drisco was alive, he killed anyone who saw his face under the mask. He didn't have a reason to do it. He did it for fun.
-After Castarian received his fae boons, he hid himself in the forest because he was so devastated by his changed appearance. He didn't have human contact for years until he met Drisco.
-Drisco met Castarian in the forest while hunting for... idk maybe ingredients for potions and whatnot. It'll make more sense when I talk a bit later about the religious system in the world. He attacked Castarian, and Castarian easily overpowered him, knocking the mask off his face and forcing Drisco to the ground. Castarian apologized and helped Drisco back up, and Drisco immediately started plotting how to kill Castarian.
-Drisco offered to reintroduce Castarian to human society. He could easily hide Castarian under a glamour, and Drisco was well-known for being a jester in a noble house. Castarian accepted eagerly.
-The plan worked for years. Drisco kept pushing back his murder plot again and again as inconveniences rose up. He ended up not killing Castarian.
-Those "inconveniences" were feelings. Drisco and Castarian are gay and in denial.
-The main religious system in the world is heavily set around flowers and their meanings. All flowers have magical properties, but some heavier than others (especially ones close or in fae territory). Alchemy is popular, and there's a lot of craft-based markets focusing on flowers.
-There is also a more "forbidden" magic. Instead of using plants and flowers, a darker magic of blood and flesh was developed. Since the magic was often used in dangerous and unethical manners, anyone who used it was excommunicated.
-Drisco is knowledgeable in both types of magic, but mostly uses the latter. He's one of the few to truly recognize the two magics to be sides of the same coin- they're both created from something organic and can have similar effects. He practiced blood magic privately and made incredible advances.
-Once he was discovered, he was executed privately. His soul was trapped in a mirror to prevent him from returning with his unholy knowledge.
-With Drisco dead, the glamour concealing Castarian broke. He was killed too, for people feared his sudden monstrous transformation.
-Castarian thinks that Drisco dropped the spell intentionally and caused his death. Drisco hates him for thinking that, and wonders to himself why he never murdered Castarian in the first place.
-They're still gay, but now they're fucked up.
-I love them
