hey yall are a fictive / kin / delusional attachment friendly blog, do you have any idea how to tell the difference between these? i have one of those which i wont name due to the blacklist, but im not sure if im a half introject of it, if i have a d/a to it, or if im just heavily kin with it. any help?
Oof okay so sdkcfnsdg speaking in experience fictive / kin can be difficult.
As nobody in our system experiences DAs, I don't feel super comfortable trying to describe the experience myself because I'd probably word it horribly or accidentally say something hurtful, etc.
With that in mind, I did find this carrd, which as far as I can tell has good information regarding delusional attachments, and this carrd is the one we ourselves originally read which has a lot of information as well. I'm not sure who wrote the first one (as in, if they experience DAs), however, the second carrd I linked was written by somebody with Delusional Attachments!
So moving on to the two subjects I do actually know about from firsthand (or in the kin case, adjacent-hand experience? hmm...) :PP
Kinning- The exact definition varies from person to person! Some people view them as past life experiences (which is how most people who kin in our system are!), some view it more as "i see a lot of myself in [x] and can identify with/relate to them easily", etc. But all in all, if you are a Kin then you probably do not feel like you are, right now, currently, [insert name], but that you "used to be" or relate to them strongly, depending on how you yourself views kinning.
Fictives- I am assuming that if you're questioning whether or not you're a fictive that you're plural (since that is. kind of required for this one :P). A common fictive experience is being unfamiliar with the things around you when you first arrive (or form, idk how your system works) because it's a different world from the one you probably remember! Sometimes the amount of differences vary, obviously.
But it's different from Kinning in that you are, right now, currently, [insert name]. It's not the same as being in a Kin Shift, either. You are [insert name].
That doesn't mean you have to act absolutely just like [insert name] or that, even, you use the same pronouns or look exactly the same or go by the same name. There can be a lot of various differences, but it boils down to [insert name] is who you are! looking at source stuff is, in our system's experiences, a lot like watching yourself in third person (if you're anywhere close to canon-compliant, if not, it's like watching another version of you in third person /hj)
uhhh i hope literally any of this made sense. or helped even a little bit. >~<!!
