hear me out: So, we know that John can (and probably) be possessive, right ? After all, (depending on you stick to canon or not) Helen and his other friends died as soon as he appeared in their lives. Well, what about a darling who's twice as obsessed ? Like, maybe they have a fear of abandonment, or perhaps they're even a yandere ? Here's an idea: Imagine a darling, with practically no reason to do anything. They have a melodramatic life, with nothing going on, and all of a sudden, they see him. John Wick.

Maybe John saved them from a robbery, or an assassination, or maybe simply helped them with a task. Whatever that may be, darling is HOOKED on John, and tries to ask around, look online, and even track him down. Maybe John is the same way. Maybe he already found things on his darling, but forgot a few things... And then, the two become friends, and John notices his darling's......mannerisms. How clingy they are, REALLY clingy. How they'll practically stare daggers at anyone who breathes in his direction. And, as the two progress into a relationship, John gets an eerie feeling from his darling. Normally, he'd be the one giving off a scary vibe, or he's the off-putting one. But his darling.... they're different. For example, they practically idolize him, and everything he does. John could ask them a question, and they'd be all over him, smiling sappily, and practically answering him in a sickeningly sweet tone. This isn't to say that he doesn't like it, he loves it ! He loves knowing that his darling is loyal to him and loves him dearly. He just also knows that there's something deeper in them, and a small part of him wants to know what makes them tick. Then he finds out that not only is his lover obsessed with him, but their obsession also runs deeper. Forget worrying about his darling escaping, he's worried about how they're going to act when he's gone.
