Did you know that we’ve been providing short-term practical training workshops on Sustainable Agriculture production methods for low income earning women farmers and youths from #Togo and other countries at @kailendfarm ? Here, we are introducing our trainees to #hydroponics (involves growing plants without soil, by using mineral nutrient solutions in an aqueous solvent) with our #DIY system which we set up at the farm. Why hydroponics? 1. It uses 90% less water. 2. No soil required. 3. You can grow plants all year round. 4. Plants grow faster and larger. 5. Healthier plants growth. 6. No weeding required. If you are interested in teaching or learning about Sustainable Agriculture & hydroponics, get in touch with us via email at [email protected] We will love to have you join our #team. #farm. #trainees #youthinag #farmlife #fao #workshop #tvet #africa #agribusiness #kailendfarm #makefarmingsexy #kailend #wwoof #volunteer #intern #farmstay (at Togo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CP8x0ssrU_e/?utm_medium=tumblr

A lot of progress at @kailendfarm over the past few weeks and we are so excited to share our work with you. At Kailend farm, following #agroforestry principles, we have planted several trees on the farm such as banana trees, papaya trees and moringa trees, to foster more soil fertility while simultaneously gaining additional resources such as wood, livestock feed or vegetables for consumption. At Kailend we strive to always reflect on how we can improve our farm’s production sustainably and are therefore working towards planting more suitable trees, especially legumes in the future!
