The list of names
*scary music playing* Ok, guys, in the light of American Middle Eastern policy, that has once again brought me to tears, I decided to do something a bit happier (this is me trying to influence my followers to read the news and fight for the right thing and all that jazz). I’ve got a lot of asks recently, mostly from people new to the world of CC, about which creators are the best, so I’ve made this little list of the creators I download and use the most. This is not in any way a complete collection, I might have forgotten someone (and there’s also plenty of creators I haven’t discovered yet). Also, these are all build creators, mainly creating alpha CC. Please feel free to add to this list. Also also, the description I’ve used for the artists are totally my own making, so if you are a creator and feel like I am describing your work in an unfair way, go ahead and punch me in the face. If I was a new simmer, I would check out these creators: Retired: MXIMS - Makes modern, real life furniture with the best quality. Has many downloads left on their website. MINCSIMS - Similar to MXIMS (with some amazing collabs), also with a beautiful talent for doors and windows. Not many objects left in orbit, but google is your friend. DAER0N - Done everything from noodles to palms, but the recent Daer0n I would describe as gold, dark and modern, with 3D modeling skills out of this world. Retired, and much of the old stuff is gone, but some can be found at bloomingrosy. DOX - Similar to Daer0n with a slightly stricter, more wooden approach. The most underrated one of the retired giants. Has some downloads left on their website. ANBS - Super clean aesthetic. Modern, real life furniture. Many downloads left on their website. SLYD - Mostly known as a CAS creator, but has the amazing shoes and bags available as decor. All downloads left on the website. HVIKIS - Wallpapers and wall art. All downloads left on the website. VIIKIITA - Recolors to die for. Not many objects left in orbit, but google is your friend. Active (I think. I hope. I don’t know): ARSBOTANICA - Previously simshamlet. Does really lovely, vintage aesthetic perfume bottles and amazing flowers. SLOX - A personal favorite. Modern, I’d say. And realistic. But often with objects you didn’t even know you needed, that ends up being the main inspiration for the whole build. Like some folded shirts, or a stack of books. 13PUMPKIN - A long with Artvitalex this is the best wood creator in the community. The sets are kind of like “small-lovely-family-home”-style, but can be used in big, modern builds with equally outstanding results. WONDYMOON - My by far most used creator. The most organized one too, I’d say. All sets match eachother, and are easy to find (and are all named by elements, this guy is a rock star). PYSZNYDESIGN - The Kilburn set is to die for. MEINKATZ - Literally replicas of real life furniture, with their history and all. Honestly the coolest thing ever. Also, a really nice person. PRALINESIMS - The best floor and wall creator, hands down. I don’t know if this is really the person I should tag tho, so I’ll tag @cross-design and hope for the best because I honestly still don’t know who is who. I love them both tho. THE TSR GIANTS: SEVERINKA, KARDOFE, UNG999, SIMMAN123, PILAR, ARTVITALEX, ANGELA, DOT, BUFFSUMM, SHINO and NYNAEVE - Yes, a lot of the creators I mention here are active on TSR and a lot of my TSR giants are active elsewhere, but I still, maybe arbitrary, like to put these under the TSR flag because they represent that wonderful vibe of big sets, certain room types and signature colors. PEACEMAKER - a true legend. Some of the CC is borderline MM, but that is what makes them so perfect. They go with both themes. MIO - This is the first creator I downloaded from and they will always have a special place in my heart. Brilliant conversions, flower sets, seating, everything. NOVVVAS - A way too humble person that claims she is not the best in the game, when she truly is out of this world. RIGHTHEARTED - who I have been referring to as neiden my whole life because I am an idiot. TINGELINGLATER - Does a lot of things but blessed all of us with windows and since then I am in love. ANYE - Pinkbox Anye, to be correct. Lovely person. Lovely sets. Unique eyes. Adore this one. FOREVERDESIGNS - Will literally transform your bedroom. And kitchen. And life. BLACKMOJITOS - Build sets and sexy, stunning posters (and a basket every now and then). Also up for commissions, I just noticed. Go throw money at her. She is amazing. KAI-HANA - Has a totally unique style, where everything is alpha, but still has a beautiful, clayish touch to it. Underrated. AROUNDTHESIMS - A bit on the MM side, so if you’re looking for that MM/alpha mix, this is for you. Extremely productive. Does everything and more. CHERRY-SIMS - A part from the CC, this is also the best picture editor I’ve ever seen. I am a huge fan! CONCEPTDESIGN - Did someone say trees? YUMIA - Soft flowers, old school touch, vintage AGGRESSIVEKITTEN - Literally killed half the community with the recent brutalism set, which without a doubt will be voted best CC of 2020. Also, where else would you go for both beautiful, vintage objects AND a tarot card reading? Weirdly obsessed with seals. Makes amazing lots. I love you. DSCO - I gave up trying to spell this creators full name after the sixth attempt. I would describe the CC as cute. But not in the condescending (that I could spell) way. More in a bad-ass-I-need-all-of-these-objects-kind-of-way! KKB - My ignorant and uneducated ass wants to call it Korean, and I am sorry if this isn’t the right way to describe anything. Soft, pastel but at the same time very cool, with rattan and wood. DR GREENIE - Former Green Girl. Mostly MM, but has made some of my most used decor objects. HELEN - Extremely productive. Does everything. NIKADEMA - Has made my favorite sink! PQSIMS - Makes sets. Usually light wood. LUNATICAVILLAGE (2SIS) - Another underrated favorite. Everyone should go here and show as much love as possible! LAVI3ENROSE - A creator that entered my world quite recently. Art deco. Bronze. Gold. And the best wrapped Christmas presents of 2019. DDAENG SIMS - Another giant that recently changed their name (used to be dreamteamsims). FELIXANDRE - The best historical creator (as in making epic shit that would create the most wonderful castle). Sometimes a bit on the MM side with the furniture, and that contrast makes it, in my eyes, even better. SIMCREDIBLE - Sets. Color matching. Often light and modern. I use their decor stones in every single one of my . SOLORIYA - MM creator. But even for us alpha bitches there are wonderful stuff (I think this is the case for most MM artists, I just don’t know so many of them). XELENN - Also does literally everything. One can scroll this blog for hours. OWL-PLUMBOB - Amazing build objects. SANOYSIMS - A long with MXIMS, I’d say this is one of the most “realistic” artists. WINNER9 - To me, this creator is all about the amazing wall art. But of course they make other stunning objects too. Marble tables, anyone? SJAMBOKSIM - My most used concrete walls (and I use concrete A LOT). AIFIRSA - Totally different style from everyone else. Absolutely love this aesthetic. VIVIAN STUDIO - This sounds weird, but their onions are the best object in my game. Don’t judge. HEURRS - A quite new creator who blew my mind with some recent candles and earned my first reblog since 456 BC. Love you. I am forgetting so, so many. Please, I sometimes can’t even remember my own name, so don’t feel hurt if I missed you. PLEASE comment your favorite creators below! Where would you advice new simmers to start looking for good CC? Love you guys!!!

September 21st-September 27th, 2019 Creator Babble Archive
The archive for the Creator Babble chat that occurred from September 21st, 2019 to September 27th, 2019. The chat focused on the following question:
How would you describe the target audience for your comic? Did you intend to aim at that audience, or did it just happen?
Deo101 (Millennium)
My target audience for millennium http://millennium.spiderforest.com/ was and is LGBT youth. Specifically teens. I know when I was a kid reading a story where gay people are just kind of... There? No jokes, no stereotypes, more than one... That would have helped me a lot. So I'm trying to make that for other kids! I think the story has reached a much wider/older audience then I intended, but I know it has helped at least some LGBT youth/young adults and that's all I could ever ask for.(edited)
spacerocketbunny
The target audience for Ghost Junk Sickness is definitely queer youth and young adults! Much like what @Deo101 (Millennium) is saying, basically we wanted something like the cool action scifi comics we read when we were younger with good queer rep that's integrated and normalized in the universe! As it turned out though, the audience we reached has been all over the place ranging from older women to big biker dudes?? Every time we go to cons we can never guess who'll purchase a book because the range is so varied! I'm sure we still reach the original target to an extent but the rest is all over the map it seems! I don't think it's a bad thing, it's just been pretty unexpected
Deo101 (Millennium)
Not bad at all ^^ more like a pleasant surprise!
spacerocketbunny
Exactly!
Deo101 (Millennium)
I think those other, older people are also looking for a story to reach their inner child... And I think that's great
mariah (rainy day dreams)
Lol, I feel the similarly way about my own story. My goal was definitely to make something me as a kiddo would have loved, which essentially would have been shonen stories but with a female majority cast. I think I already figured my target audience would be similar to me, but I've been consistently surprised by how many male identifying folks like it. I guess I do like that they can hang though X) Anyway, these are my floppy, post work out thoughts. Hopefully they make sense.
LadyLazuli (Phantomarine)
The target audience for Phantomarine (http://www.phantomarine.com/) was never super clear from the beginning - I just wanted to make something I'd like as a teen. Luckily (or unluckily! in terms of describing it to people ) the story is a mishmash of a bunch of different genres. It's not quite a ghost story, not quite a pirate adventure, not quite a fantasy epic, but it has elements of them all. And it does seem to have attracted people who like those different genres. It may not be easy if I ever want to publish it properly (it's a little difficult to describe my 'brand' ) but as it is, it's got everything I would have liked when I was between 14 and 18.
My happiest surprise is hearing about the younger kids who have read it, understood it, and really enjoyed it. Knowing that 10-12 year olds can appreciate my work is really awesome. I try to keep the language and scary/questionable content at Harry Potter levels, but I like having some of the depth/maturity of stories like The Golden Compass. If they like Phantomarine now, I really hope they find extra enjoyment with it as they grow up. It's going to be a ride!
mariah (rainy day dreams)
Gosh, I get that feel of being multi-genre and not knowing quite how to describe your Brand X') I feel like I've gotten better at defining it over time but it's still a struggle to briefly describe what my thing even is some days. Also Golden Compass I'm always excited to find other comic folks who were also influenced by that series.
LadyLazuli (Phantomarine)
It's my gold standard for the right blend of fantasy, reality, and maturity. It's just the best
keii4ii
The target audience for Heart of Keol (https://heartofkeol.com/) is extremely tiny, but it does have appeal for people outside of that niche. I make it for myself, and the relevant aspects of "myself" here are: a) Grew up in Korea, is living (or has lived for an extended period of time) in a predominantly English-speaking part of the world b) Bonus points if they spent some time living in rural Korea c) Is into slow burn drama about characters who could be described as being "genuine" and probably "lawful" as well d) Likes the aesthetics of fantasy settings, but is more into the mundane, almost slice of life, side of drama e) Is very much into reading between the lines for more emotional stuff. Reads a lot of heart from sceneries, possibly more than from faces. (I have face blindness and this affects how I experience comics both as a reader and as a creator)
Obviously people who meet both a) and b) are gonna be harder to find! But if one can meet c), d) and e), that's enough to enjoy the comic the way it's meant to be enjoyed, or so I hope.
The reason a) and b) matter is because it affects how the setting/aesthetics come across. To someone like me, the old Korea setting feels homey, warm, nostalgic. It's like a shorthand for "sit down and enjoy this heartfelt slow burn tale." But to others, Magical Asia might feel exciting and exotic, which isn't really what the story is meant to be, so there may be some dissonance.
seetherabbit
I haven't given much thought about the target audience for Vulperra. (https://vulperra.com/) other than then it's probably for people who like adventure, fantasy and cartoony-ish animals
Cronaj
My target audience is kind of all of the place. Initially when I began scripting my comic, Whispers of the Past, I was really into anime and manga, especially ones like Attack on Titan that were a gritty fantasy. However, since then, my style and story have changed tremendously. My target audience now tends to be young women, aged 15-25, who enjoy detailed world building in high fantasy and are definitely into family drama in story telling. Initially, I wrote the story to fit certain perameters that I myself enjoyed. For example, I am particularly obsessed with the idea of the mundane meeting the fantastical and amazing. The quiet lull of ordinary life juxtaposed by the rigor of magical entities. I specifically focus a lot on drawing beautiful artwork for the panels, because I myself am a picky-pants when it comes to selecting comics I want to read. Another one of my obsessions is a fantasy setting so detailed that you feel like if the story ended, the world would still live on. (One of my inspirations was the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini, in which the author essentially wrote several languages, similar to Tolkien.) In reality, my readers tend to be women aged 30+ (probably who watch k-dramas like I do), and a lot of D&D players. It's fun really, discovering how much of my own hobbies bleed into my stories.
AntiBunny
Early on with AntiBunny http://antibunny.net/ I was hoping for fans of scifi and film noir. What I got were fans of classic cartoons and furries. Which is fine by me really. Furries are nice people who are passionate about their hobbies (and spend money).
Jonny Aleksey
A superhero audience was always the intention for J-Man (http://jonnyalekseydrawscomics.com/the-undefeatable-j-man/), but specifically, right now, I'm aiming for something all ages. Slightly teen drama, cartoony but grounded. My inspirations were Spectacular Spider-Man and the DCAU so anyone who likes that is the readership I expect. Hopefully I can reach people who are on the fence about superheroes. The all ages aspect is something newish relatively speaking. When I started my webcomic I wanted to stay away from the "deep real edgy" tone I made when I was in high school (shiver). It took me a bit to really get that tone down. I don't use curse words and only mild blood, but occasionally stuff that borders on teen+ go through. (there's one instance in #5 where J-Man's face gets burnt by the villain that might've been a bit much) I don't think the all ages banner is going to restrict me from telling certain storylines/character development. Just means it won't be excessively grim.
Erin/Leif & Thorn on Kickstarter
The target audience for my webcomics is LGBT nerds who want stories that give them strong feelings, and who like SF/F, anime, competent characters that don't have to take turns with the Idiot Ball to keep the plot moving, and cats. Admittedly that last bit might be redundant, since everyone on the internet likes cats.
Ash🦀
I’ll be honest with you, I’m the target audience of my comic. (http://www.fwmgofficial.com/) it’s not out yet (it’ll be out October 31st) but as the writer I’ve had a lot of time to think about it. Mostly, it’s just targeted to young adults and autistic people. I never got to see people like me in comics, so I wrote a comic where an autistic person can be the hero too, even in his own way. For me, I figure whoever likes it likes it and that’s good enough for me. (also furries. Definitely targeted furries)
Kay Rose
@Ash🦀 cant wait to read it!
Ash🦀
QwQ thank you!!
MJ Massey
So far Black Ball is pulling in a mix of people who like the vintage aesthetic (1920s and art deco with some old-school macabre for some reason?) and people who like shonen manga, which is great. Even if Black Ball isn't specifically macabre or strictly shounen (though I myself have made shounen battle manga-esque comics in the past)
DaemonDan (The Demon Archives)
Audience of my comic... Per Google it's 18-35 year old men from the US and Russia XD Which makes sense given it's a pretty hard sci-fi with a lot of military action from dudes in power armor and etc. Though I try not to go too "high octane action!1!" and explore more psychological elements too.

Magical Wizarding World Pics & A Little Life Rambling
Well helloooo, you. I have a pile of pretty Potter pictures here, plus a desire to sit and chat. Cool?
Cool.
I should mention I've decided not to stress (or at least TRY not to) over the fact that Epbot is basically becoming a Harry Potter Christmas blog this month. This is brave, this is mildly obsessive...THIS IS ME.
I promise after the Hufflepuff party and next month's fabulous Christmas con and then the Festival of Trees and everything I'll get back to other fandom things. Probably. [Cut to me running madly through twinkle lights yelling "I'M NEVER GOING BACK YOU CAN'T MAKE MEEEEE!!"]
Ahem.
Oh hey look, my favorite Alley:
I took this a few weeks ago before all the pretty garlands went up, so it's much sparklier now.
I love looking for new angles; pretty sure you could blindly point your camera in any direction in the Wizarding World and find something beautiful:
Look at that crest and plaster work. LOOK AT IT.
If you stand to the right side of the steps during Celestina's show, you can get some lovely crowd-free shots:
I can't wait to see her Holiday Spell show again. Eeeee!
Goblin armor is best armor.
(The tiny suit is the one that assembles itself when you wave your wand, so you have to time this shot just right.)
Ever notice the corbels inside the Forbidden Journey gift shop?
I need to find a place for one of these in our house. And then, you know, steal and/or make one.
(Picturing myself standing guard while John goes at one of these with a chisel is brightening my afternoon. Just sayin'.)
I played with a lot of window reflections, with limited success:
Here's my favorite:
This is looking out from Wiseacres, through that fabulous crystal ball.
And the hardest window of all to photograph: the mandrake over in Hogsmeade:
Honestly, this is the best I've ever managed, so I'm kind of proud!
Ohh hey, big news if you're a park geek like me: have you seen the new store?
Globus Mundi is the Wizarding travel agency, complete with a window of pamphlets that are pure gold to read through:
(click to embiggen)
From my IG Story:
I got my first look inside during Dressed To The 9 3/4s last weekend. It is a TINY shop - mostly selling Hogwarts Express merch - but so well themed:
Look up to the ceiling in the entryway for a fun surprise:
Brooms built for 4!
A whole wall of clocks:
Obviously I am completely and unabashedly in love with this globe:
I have a mighty need, people. A MIGHTY ONE.
There was a big stir a few weeks ago when the first ever Fantastic Beasts merch finally popped up in Wizarding World:
Baby Nifflers!
And if you haven't seen the new Fantastic Beasts wands, go Google them for a treat. (They're impossible to photograph; I gave up.) So much Art Deco deliciousness, and Dumbledore's is the stuff of dreams.
And that's just the M!
Not new, I just really love this sparkly phoenix shirt:
Every time I'm in Diagon Alley I try to decide which hanging sign I want to make first. Every time I pick a different sign.
This is the current contender. Thoughts?
Speaking of signs, I think these are both new? It's impressive to me that Universal keeps adding new little tweaks - or maybe I've just never noticed them before:
If you haven't been in a while, the Cauldron Cakes look completely different now:
Much cuter than the old style, though it still bugs the purist in me that knows the Cauldron Cakes in the books were stackable, and probably so named because they were made in or on a cauldron. (Which is why our version is like this.)
::pushes up Nerd Glasses::
::to look down them at you::
Anyone tried these pumpkin pasties? They look like cherry turnovers, but I'm too cheap to buy one and see:
Over to Hogsmeade again:
This clock tower - and the owl inside - is my favorite.
A few garland shots from last weekend:
And another new window display!
Go, Universal!
Not new, but always pretty:
For my fellow Christmas geeks: there's a HUGE NEW ROOM of Hogwarts Christmas merch in the Port of Christmas shop at the entrance to Islands of Adventure. This is the only place to find all the Potter Christmas stuff, and the only shop I've found in either park that carries the House stockings and garland. So be sure to stop here to drool:
They've themed out the whole place beautifully - look at those alcoves up top! And the wrapped broom!
There are a few new ornaments this year, these two are my favorites:
This is a heavy real metal, and super sparkly.
Also heavy metal (but with less guitars):
Hnnnng. The other Houses are almost as lovely, too! Almost. ;)
If you haven't seen any of the Hogwarts castle projection shows, put it on your list. I finally caught the House showcase one, which is short, but breath-taking:
That's straight off my phone, no edits! I'm sure the Christmas one will start again soon, but I'd love to see them incorporate these House Pride sections into it for a little extra magic.
Well gang, I've rambled on enough, and John is out in the garage wheezing (his cough is back, noooo) and feverishly working on our next big party build, so I better get back in there.
Just a closing thought, though, since I've been reflecting on this the past few days:
I don't think it's a surprise to anyone here that getting older sucks sometimes. There are more things that hurt, more bills, more things to worry about - and the gnawing fear that maybe you've missed out on something, maybe it's too late.
On the flip side, the older you get, the more you realize the things that matter, and the more you learn to grab on to the happy in front of you, and not let go.
About ten years ago I developed a panic disorder literally overnight, and I've spent the last decade skidding down this path of fear, looking for diagnoses, clinging to hope, and mourning the loss of my life as I knew it.
A few years later I'd developed such a severe case of agoraphobia that I could barely get in a car, much less fly or travel, or even go to the movies.
I've been clawing my way back to my "normal" ever since, and you guys have had a front row seat to some of my victories and setbacks.
I don't have either to report today, but I do have this:
It's a little slice of "normal," you guys. Just me in a theme park line, feeling OK.
I still have a ways to go, still have a lot of battles to lose and doctors to see before I win again. But I'm going to keep looking back, and remembering, and hanging on to all the Happy I have right now, right this second. Because stuff hurts, and I'm scared and stressed too much of the time NOT to.
Also I'm gonna dive face-first into magical Christmas stuff for the next 6 weeks. If that makes you happy, too, then I hope you'll join me.
I love you guys. Be good to yourselves this season, k?
And stay tuned for more party progress insanity. :D

Road trips and David Seymour Memes
Hey yea, I went on a road trip??
I can quite honestly say I haven’t belly laughed as deeply, or sung quite as loudly as I did on the four-day road trip I spent with one of the best people I know. Coming from a rough last month, when Sam asked me if I wanted to go I was like oh hell yea lets go now.
All year, and even more so after my break up, I have had this flight instinct in me- I sort of feel a little bit trapped. I just want to be doing things constantly, that's probably why I run so much. But I’m always seeking out that energy of being alive and just going places I’ve never been.
I’m not going to lie I was soooooo excited, little bit nervous- I was worried I was going to be annoying as hell, but I was packed days before and was up early fluffing around making sure I had everything- which ended up being three bags... and three days in, most of the contents had redecorated the inside of the car anyway.. sorry.
The first day we headed for Napier. We stopped in that little corrugated iron town Tirau, which was really cool because i’d never been before and buildings are even more impressive in real life. The giant dog has a leather tongue and this kid kept grabbing it, which naturally made me want to grab it, so we walked past it back to the car so I could act like a child..
We also stopped in Rotorua, there was these massive mud pools outside the Wai-O-Tapu thermal reserve. I didn’t know mud boiled so hot, it was between 60 and 100 degrees?? I didn’t get any snaps quite like raman did but I wouldn’t really know how to filter them to make them look cool anyway. It’s actually really crazy to think that all this geothermal activity goes on a few hours away from where I live, some people go their whole lives not knowing about it or experiencing it. I think i’m just easily impressed by things that aren’t man made.
We also stopped in Taupo so I could touch the instagram famous sign- as we learned from the frames I seem to be a bit instagram obsessed. We also found this waterfall you couldn’t even tell existed from the road, and huge crevasses in the sides of the earth.
We got to Napier and honestly it hasn’t changed, except the hog’s breath has gone- absolute travesty in my world. But I still think it’s my favourite place in New Zealand, the little art deco touches...very me. We ate burgerfuel and watched ice age and it was only in the morning I discovered there was an electric blanket. We visited the bluff hill lookout on the second day, the view of the ports and the colour of the ocean were so beautiful, I think I could've stayed up there all day. There's also a beacon up there so naturally I count that as part of my lighthouse obsession.
Between Napier and Palmy, we drove past a lot of sheep- and I mean A LOT, we also went to the wind farm- bloody hell that place is incredible. I remember driving through it as a kid but I don’t remember actually going up there. It powers 39,000 homes.
We also came across this huge river that pretty much follows the road around, and these chunks of cliff edge that look like mars- well, they kind of look like St Bathans actually. And then there was stormy point- which is pretty much farm for miles- but you can see the rain coming for miles too. In this leg of the trip I learnt that Sam could multi-task- swapping out SD cards and storing stuff on the laptop on the go is something I would be terrible at, he can also rap, and he’s always down to take pictures and make them look halfway decent @my friends who don't focus the pictures or only take one of me- level up please.
Palmerston North itself was actually really nice, i’d never been in the city centre- it has a clock tower that lights up at night? And more than one Maccas- wild. @whangamata not having any?? We actually watched blue lagoon that night, as well as that catfish reunion- pretty sure that horrified Sam.
I always find the sunrise a bit weird when I’m not close to the coast.
And thennnnn we went to Whanganui! And the winter gardens there oh my god they are so pretty. It has a huge lake outside it with so many birds and little open garden, a fern house and a flower house- I was in heaven I bloody love flowers. I also managed to match my pink puffer vest and my pink bugs bunny shirt perfectly. From there we headed to the snow, on the way there was another waterfall and this incredible bridge that held up the railway track. I’m trying to tell myself not to get obsessed with architecturally and aesthetically pleasing bridges… We also got to see the last spike that was laid on the railway line in 1909, which was pretty cool.
When we got to the Chateau it was snowing, and I’ve never touched real snow let alone had it fall from the sky onto me. Instant love. The room we stayed in looked straight out onto the snow-capped mountains of Tongariro and Ngauruhoe. Once we figured out how the heater worked, we ended up leaving the room to go to the information centre- because we couldn’t get up ruapehu without chains on the car, so we figured out the shuttle etc and we attempted a bush walk but my ankles got these terrible blisters, so I became the boring companion that sat down and waited...and used up all of Sam’s band-aids.
After I could figure out which shoes made my feet hurt the least, we had dinner in National Park. The restaurant played three Frankie Valli songs in a row. In the car on the way back, I learnt how unachievable Frankie’s high pitch is, but also, Sam should probably be a voice actor - he’s that good. When we got back we watched The Grand Budapest Hotel- also something i’d never seen before, but absolutely incredible! Can I just say how much I love Wes Anderson?? Actually kind of the funniest part of the trip- because the wifi was so iffy, we watched half of it on a laptop and the other half on Sam’s phone. We went out at about 1am to look at the stars, it was pretty cold but snow kind of glows. Just more incredible scenery as per usual.
We went up into the snow on our last day, Sam actually got me onto the chairlift- which absolutely scared the living daylights out of me, but also probably one of the best experiences in my life? I’ve learnt not to cry in fear because I can’t see out of my glasses...plus Sam was super patient and probably the only person who could get me up to the top, and, stay calm. Despite the adrenalin, I actually loved the snow, I would stay there for days.
I loved the entire trip. I came back -better? I just felt better forgetting everything that was going on in Auckland. Its like when Train sings about having a soul vacation- I think that's what happened. People who saw me straight after were like wow you’re like a new person, your skins glowing etc I guess when you heal internally, it shows externally.
I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun, or enjoyed eight hours a day in a car more than I did on this road trip. @ Sam 24 hours behind the wheel, you’re a Saint.
