Q: What's this blog about?

A: Despite what Tumblr seems to want everyone to think, I am not a twewy blog anymore. I haven't been for a while. This blog is a mixture of things that interest me, and those follow a general trend. I'm into alternative music and related subcultures, 90s & 2000s alt fashion, web 1.0, video games, horror media, and cool edgy graphics. I post about politics every now and again if something catches my attention, but most of my anarchy is done in person, not online. As a rule I don't reblog e-begging or guilt trip posts (e.g. "I don't care what your blog theme is just rb!!!" "If you don't reblog you're horrible!!") because I believe in at least trying to separate my chill online life from my day job.

Q: What kind of alt music do you like?

A: I listen to a lot of classic punk, 90s punk revival, grunge, riot grrrl, emo rock and nu metal, with a bit of death metal and heavy metal.

Q: What alt music subcultures do you consider yourself a part of?

A: I call myself an emo and a punk. I'm not goth, though I've been a fan of the odd goth song here and there.

Q: Do you dress alternative IRL?

A: Yep. I've been doing this since I was about 12 or 13, but I'm a lot better at it now than I was back then. I dress in a mixture of emo and punk looks, usually in black, red, and hot pink. My hair is split-died pink on one side and black on the other.

Q: What's with the web 1.0 obsession?

A: IDK man. Maybe the nostalgia just hit me really hard, but I think it's a bit deeper than that. I'm really fascinated by recent history, and a ton of that is entangled with the internet culture of the late 90s up to 2014 or so. It's cool. Besides, a ton of stuff that I like was in vogue during those decades, so as I do research I end up finding a lot of cool websites and graphics related to bands, games, and other stuff that I'm obsessed with from way back when.

Q: What video games do you like?

A: Action-adventure games with a focus on story have historically been my favorites, especially if they have edgy graphics and music, but I'm willing to try most genres as long as they're on consoles I own. The only games I seriously hate are gacha games and mobile games. And league of legends. I will shoot league players on sight. Arcane fans are okay but you're on thin ice.

Q: What kind of horror media are you into?

A: Mostly video games, but I've seen quite a few horror films on account of my bestie/roommate @g-l-o-w-y-l-i-g-h-t-s. Go follow them if you're interested in vampires. You will see a lot of vampires.

Q: What is your "day job"?

A: I am a volunteer at an anarchist bookstore. I also recently started work as a bouncer at a fairly prominent music venue. Most of what I do when I'm not "on the clock" is political research.

Q: What bands are you listening to right now?

A: Subhumans, Stiff Little Fingers, Superheaven, Deftones, Bikini Kill, Mannequin Pussy, Bad Waitress, Go Betty Go, PXNDX, The Story So Far, The Offspring, Linkin Park (the old stuff), Fall Out Boy (the old stuff), Blink-182, NOFX, Destroy Boys, Three Days Grace, Rise Against, Rage Against the Machine, Narrow Head, Breaking Benjamin, and like a million other bands. I have a lot of CDs.

Q: What games are you playing right now?

A: I've been replaying the Kingdom Hearts series with my roommate. Next games on the list are the rest of the Silent Hill series and Sonic X Shadow Generations. Possibly a replay of the ff7 remake.

Q: What weird outliers should I expect in your media taste?

A: For some reason I have a soft spot for dudebro stuff like the Beastie Boys and Team Fortress 2. Don't ask me why. I have no idea.

Tips for caregivers of punk/scene littles

This is probably my longest winded post..and the most self indulgent lol.. Here's just some of my personal snip-bits on being an alternative regressor. I hope this can help someone out or at least be entertaining for those who are alt regressors too ^^

Find stim toys that are otherwise "unconventional" or aren't labeled as stim toys ! - This might be a stretch,, and can honestly work for anyone looking for something to stim with. I love my chain necklace and I wear it everywhere I go! Its got a ring and 2 chains that I like to play with,, the texture of the metal is also nice in my hands and has a good weight around my neck. Sensory pressure is my favorite stim ! Skull necklace Moon phases Pride flags O-Ring necklace (mine!) Playing with piercings can also be a stim but ! be careful that jewelry is cleaned and fresh piercings are healed ! Its ok to allow your little to wear corsets, fishnets and tight clothing! It can be a great way to provide pressure therapy, or a stim in public or on the go~ Never force your regressor to stop watching shows/movies or listening to certain music while they're regressed. Sometimes horror movies, and loud noises can be comforting! * Talk with your little while they're big about this! There may be certain horror topics to avoid when they're regressed ! ... Some resources / things that I find helpful as an alt cg!

I haven't been in the Sonic fandom since I was a literal child lmao (mid-2000s ish during the heyday before Sonic 06) but it's crazy to me that people complain about dark or edgy interpretations of Sonic media since the games, comics, even a couple of the TV series were just like that for a while. idk. the forced wholesomeness stuff is just as bad imo

Yeah I guess a lot of it is because a big amount of the people that have a problem with my dark concepts haven't been fans for as long to really know about it or they don't remember, or do but don't like it and just have a problem with anyone actually liking and creating for it.

It's ridiculous to me that it's so vilified in the fandom now because the series has officially explored tons of dark subjects and themes of violence, tragedy, death, killing of innocent people and children, abuse of animals and people in multiple forms, terrorism, suicide, enslavement, shootings, war, genocide, etc. And those are all just examples that have been the actual canon games.

And that's not even getting into other official media like the comics, especially Archie- which also has some really great dark moments with Eggman that creatively inspired me a lot. I'll include mention it here because this isn't just about what's canon though there's tons there too, it also helps emphasize that this is what's been in any form of official media at all the entire time.

People say these themes are too extreme and dark and must make the person writing about them for analysis and concepts horrible people, even though they're explored in the official media. And surprise, surprise, Eggman is very often the perpetrator in a lot of these terrible things because he's the main villain of the series for a reason! It shouldn't be wrong to embrace that.

It surprises me now that people that dislike evil and dark things as a whole in fiction are fans of Eggman today and have a problem with other fans liking that he's evil and basing their fan creations off that. It doesn't make sense to me at all but it wouldn't be a problem if some of them weren't so nasty and accusatory towards those that do and cast them out of the fandom.

It's really not that shocking to explore darker subjects and themes, they're not too extreme for Sonic in any way. And most of what I create are always at least heavily inspired by or even directly taken from terrible evil things that Eggman has done in the games, I'm just exploring them further to a degree that they can't because of age ratings- that's the only real huge difference.

Nobody should be getting cast out and told to die for exploring darker themes anyway if course but it's even wilder to me that it's happening over me writing about what's already been explored in the series and is literally why I do so in the first place. And they made it to be entertaining, that's the point. So it should be possible to acknowledge, enjoy, and create based on it without trouble.

I miss how that was more possible in the early 2000s - early 2010s but is now treated like an offense and even punishable by death in some people's eyes. The sanitization of these darker themes and characters in fandom to favor wholesome fluff often simplifies the complexity of them and their dynamics officially, which removes a ton of what's interesting and appealing to me.

And the hostility towards anyone that doesn't follow along with it and how they'll act like they're morally reprehensible and cast them out alongside people that have actually done illegal things on blocklists and such is really sad. People are allowed to like good pure wholesome things as much as people are allowed to like darker evil edgy grim dark things but some won't allow them to coexist.

Thinking about how many other fans' creations of analysis, concepts, fic writing, and art are affected too as they're either kicked out like me or feel like they can't share it at all in fear the same will happen to them is a huge shame. It's restricting expression of creativity and imagination in favor of purifying everything despite even the official media having some these themes.

And that's one of the reasons why the fandom is so different when it comes to what fictional writing, art, and interpretations are or aren't allowed now. Not only do people forget or reject these themes being in the official media itself, they also seek to shut down anyone who wants to explore those further in fiction like me and discourage others from doing so in the first place.

I think myself and anyone who shares my interests would be able to find stuff we enjoy much easier if this didn't happen. It sucks how hard some fans make it for people to share or discover any type of fan creations that don't fit their personal moral beliefs and tastes, despite there being tons of the fluff they want in the fandom already. Fans of the darker themes should be able to thrive here too.

Dan has a few lines in the game especially in regards to the fact that it really isn’t dialogue heavy - and while he is a main-side character but only in the sense that he’s playable and there’s only some side story that’s pretty important to him but after that there’s no real further deep dive. What he does say however is like??? iconic in it own right?? I mean I adore his lines and catchphrases, it builds and gives life to his character and personality - painting a picture of an assassin/hitman who doesn’t GIVE A CRAP. The only thing on his mind is that he’s got a job to do and he’s gonna do it as swiftly and as efficiently as possible.

Hey there, thank you so so much for requesting! This is my first headcannon, so I hope you like it :) I decided to have the daughter eventually get surgery to correct her blindness since I don’t know a whole lot about it despite some research. I hope that’s okay!

Common: They were feeding your daughter one day, and noticed she didn’t look in their direction, not even once. They had noticed this before, but now it was a pattern. “Hey, mc, do you find it odd that our daughter never makes eye contact?”. Being a new mother is very demanding, so you hadn’t really noticed. But then, one day, you were standing over her crib and went to pick her up. She flinched when you touched her, like she was startled or hadn’t seen you. A thought crept into your head, and you felt anxiety rise in your stomach. You took your daughter to the doctor the next day, and your fears were confirmed: she’s blind.

Yoosung* He suspected it, but was still shocked* He knew you guys could handle this, your relationship was very strong* Honestly this boy is such a sweetheart* He wanted to help his daughter but the surgery was so expensive* And you weren’t sure if it was safe* He was very supportive* “We can manage this, mc.
