Jungkook is the most romantic person in existance (and the choice of ANTOYA supports this claim) 🩷
The things he does, both big and small, speak volumes about how he feels towards Jimin.
We know JK is a boy with big, big feelings. We see him crying when he's overcome, we see him enjoying his food most dramatically, we see him raging when hes furious.
We dont know everything about them, but one of the things we often get to see, when it comes to Jungkook and his feelings, is the way he celebrates Jimin.
The things he does aren't expensive, they aren't flashy, they arent designed to impress or show status. They are the things that money can't buy. He gives gifts of the heart.
Rosebowl, the giant pancake, the snow in NZ, the thirst-trap birthday message, leaving the gym to support Jimin's birthday vlive, the hyping of Promise (from inside a closet) and many more. Let's not forget GCF Tokyo! I can't list them all here but most recently, his support during Jimin's promotions for FACE - commenting on the livestreams, singing the songs, watching the promos with us - are hugely significant. Its not hard to imagine how much these gestures would have meant to Jimin.
It is all so special and thoughtful. It speaks volumes about their relationship.
But the thing I love the most about all of this? It's the WAY he does these things.
Some of them are impulsive (the snow), some are carefully planned (Tokyo). Some are enormously significant, changing the whole landscape around their relationship (Rosebowl) others are barely worth a mention (a bigger pancake). But in every instance, his whole focus is Jimin's happiness.
From the biggest things to the smallest, the delivery of his heartfelt gifts is totally without ego. There's no guile or selfishness in ANY of it. At no point does he seem to be thinking 'Look how good i am!' In fact i believe that sometimes he is not really thinking at all. At least not consciously thinking of how to impress or show his love or 'be thoughtful'. He seems to be so genuinely attuned to Jimin that he doesn't need to think. He instinctively knows, and without second guessing, he acts.
So what's so special about ANTOYA?
Its not a particularly expensive restaurant. I could easily afford to eat there and I'm not wealthy AT ALL. Its not especially exclusive or sophisticated - there's a person dancing in a cow-suit outside the door for goodness sake! The reviews talk about it being good value for money and a family restaurant. Yes, it has a mention in the Michelin guide, but they describe it as "good quality, good value" and "deliver[ing] a reliable roster of barbecue hits." Let's be frank, its not the highest praise possible for a restaurant.
So what makes it special enough for them to eat there? Besides the important fact that it proclaims itself 'LGBT friendly' there's one stand out thing... its very pretty and very romantic, and from what we know about Jimin's aesthetic, he would love it.
Would JK love it? Not sure he'd care. The boy sleeps on matresses on the floor and has bandannas tied around his lamps. His 'room' in BE was starkly functional and minimalist.
But Jimin's room in BE... JIMIN'S ROOM WAS A SERENADE OF ELEGANCE AND FULL TO THE BRIM WITH BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS. He's all about pretty, pretty things.
The restaurant entrance is honestly divine. It's like a pagoda covered in a cascade of colourful flowers, and their signature cocktail is called 'Love Potion'. What could be more romantic on Silver Day, than a meal at a place like this?
I really can't think of anything 🩷
x~x
The aesthetic... oozing romance
The menu... not exorbitant

The Great ACT-NSW-NZ Trip, 2023-2024 - Lake Taupō
I didn't just go to Aotearoa for the animals and plants - I wanted to see the geology as well. Australia hasn't done much apart from erode for the last 99 million years, but New Zealand is on the tectonic boundary between the Australian and Pacific plates, so the geology is much more active. In fact, in some areas it's positively lively.
This is Lake Taupō, a very large lake in the middle of the North Island, and the most active supervolcano in the world. The last big eruption, about 230 CE, blew out over 100 cubic kilometers of rock, much of it over seven or eight minutes. The previous one, 25750 years ago, blasted out over 10 times that. Large parts of the island were buried in hundreds of meters of red-hot volcanic ash, travelling at just under the speed of sound, that settled still hot enough to fuse into ignimbrite rock. The very term ignimbrite was coined in New Zealand to describe this kind of pyroclastic deposit. Microscopic diatoms from the lake sediments have been found mixed with the ash that landed in the Chatham Islands over 800km away. It's also made a nice dating layer in the Antarctic ice cap.
And if all this ash and the volcanic domes and geothermal fields around the lake weren't enough, the fact that the lake has black beaches, with a strandline of fist-sized pumice, and steep cliffs around the periphery, should be a big clue that this is not a healthy place to be. At least over geological periods. In theory there should be a little warning the next time the supervolcano decides to blow out a crater the size of Singapore.
@purrdence and I stayed at two places around the caldera - Taupo township, and a much smaller place on the southern end of the lake with a name that translates as 'Sandfly and all his mates'. Both venues had geothermal hot tubs attached. We also visited the Craters of the Moon geothermal field, and the Huka Falls cascade.
Craters of the Moon was certainly pungent - the numerous fumeroles and mudpots percolate a lot of sulphur, arsenic and other elements. One of the now-collapsed fumeroles, the Devil's Trumpet, used to be nocturnal pyrotechnic display, after guides threw kerosene-soaked sackng in and got a 50-foot column of fire in responce.
Some of the species I've seen before - most from Purrdence's visit to the area a year earlier, but also some from Australia. And at least two from my carport here in Perth.

South Sound breweries SIG and Triceratops expand distribution via River Barrel River Barrel Distributing.
Press Release
River Barrel Distributing continues to grow its list of Pacific Northwest breweries with the addition of Triceratops Brewing Company and Sig Brewing Company. Both are family-run breweries based in Washington.
Triceratops Brewing was begun by partners Rob and Kelly Horn. Originally from Flemington, NJ, the Horns moved to Olympia, WA and opened their own brewery in August 2014 after years of home brewing. Triceratops’ operations began in the family’s garage and with the last name Horn, the brewery name was an easy choice. Three years later, the Horns opened a tasting room in Tumwater and have had a steady flow of great customers, good friends, and craft beer lovers.
“We’re very happy to add Triceratops to our list,” says River Barrel Distributing Sales Manager Joe Cohen. “Rob and Kelly brew clean, classic styles that appeal to a wide market of beer drinkers.”
To date, Triceratops Brewing has earned four medals at the Washington Beer Awards for their Hawthorne Coffee Milk Stout, Pennsyltucky Vienna-style Lager, Revival Coffee and Motors Coffee Milk Stout, and Bohemian Raspberry Golden Ale.
Three varieties Cohen is looking forward to sharing with the Western Washington area are:
Collin James Irish Red Ale - Low in alcohol and bitterness, this Irish Red Ale is a well-balanced people pleaser. Lightly hopped with the mild, earthy, and somewhat woody Fuggle variety, this beer entices the nose with a rich, toffee-like aroma. Meanwhile, notes of plum and raisin play with a slightly bready and nutty flavor provided by Irish ale malt and a touch of roasted barley.
Liquid Swords IPA - We launched our popular rotating IPA series back in 2016, and by drawing on the wide variety of expressive hop varieties available to brewers, haven’t made the same beer since. Hazy or bright, fruity or piney, no two Chambers are alike, and they never last long.
Pennsyltucky Vienna-Style Lager - This smooth, Vienna-style lager is inspired by the brewing traditions of Central Pennsylvania. Caramunich malt gives this classic style a nice, roasty flavor while the Cluster hops provide a little bite and a touch of earthy bitterness.
About 30 miles NE of Triceratops’ taproom is Sig Brewing Company. Begun in 2020, the family-owned location in Tacoma’s Historic Brewing District offers beers of nearly every style as well as a full menu of brick oven pizza.
“We love craft beer and are very proud to be part of its local community,” says John Samuelson, Sig Brewing Founder . We were fortunate enough to hire a talented head brewer in Jeff Stokes and opened our doors in the spring of 2020. Our goal was to differentiate ourselves in as many ways as possible including our beers, food, and taproom.”
Sig Brewing focuses on experimental varieties including fermented and soured beers as well as hoppy beers and pilsners. Three brands that will be distributed by River Barrel include:
Experimental Nectar IPA – A hazy/juicy IPA brewed with 2-row, wheat, and pilsner malts in tandem with some flaked oats and brown sugar. Mash hopped with NZ Cascade, whirlpooled with Nectaron, and DDH'd with a blend of Hopsteiner's EXP 17701 and 17704 hops. Fermented with Omega Yeast's Cosmic Punch yeast.
In Rainbows IPA – An unfiltered American IPA brewed with 2-row, special pale, and spitz malt coupled with a touch of flaked oats. Kettle hopped with Bravo and Citra, and DDH'd with Mosaic and Comet. The perfect IPA for gazing at rainbows. Fermented with Omega Yeast OYL-005 Irish Ale strain.
Pilscifer: A New American Pilsner - Built on a malt base of pilsner malt with a touch of corn, wheat, oats, and vienna malt thrown in. We then kettle hopped Pilscifer with Adeena and dry hopped it with El Dorado. Crispy with a new world fruit flare and fermented with Fermentis 34/70 Lager yeast.
“I'm excited to be on board with River Barrel and hope that we can continue to push boundaries and grow our brand through this partnership,” says Stokes. “I am most excited about growing our lager program and our barrel aged portfolio over time, but also happy to have the opportunity to get our core beers into a much wider array of spots!”
River Barrel Distributing serves the Western Washington counties of King, Pierce, Thurston, Lewis, Snohomish, Kitsap, and Grays Harbor.

Hanging Baskets Hanging baskets are one of the best ways to display trailing plants, allowing their vines to cascade freely. They’re perfect for brightening up dull corners or adding a natural touch to kitchens and living rooms.
Wall-Mounted Planters Wall-mounted planters are a space-saving solution that lets you create vertical gardens indoors. These are especially useful in small apartments or offices where floor and shelf space is limited.

Hanging Macramé Planters Pairing trailing plants with macramé hangers creates a stylish bohemian vibe. This is a popular trend in New Zealand homes, adding texture and natural beauty to your space.
Window Ledges Trailing plants look great when placed on window ledges, where they can soak up natural light while their vines drape down, creating a lush, green display.
Conclusion

It is advisable to tailor your kit to the specifics of your hike and personal needs.
Remember, a hiker's mantra is to be prepared for anything nature throws your way. With this essential hiking gear list in hand, you're one step closer to embracing the adventure that awaits!
Selecting the Right Hiking Boots for New Zealand Terrain
To navigate through rocky paths, soft muddy routes, and the occasional snowy terrain, it's crucial to find boots that offer comprehensive protection. From seasoned brands like KEEN and Merrell, known for their waterproof hiking boots, to innovative designs from Salomon and The North Face, offering the latest in trekking footwear technology, the choices are vast. Yet, the right pair should suit not just the trail ahead but your feet's unique contours for a secure and pleasant hike.
Grip: A boot's sole should have deep lugs that allow for confident strides on diverse surfaces.
Durability: Premium materials shield against wear and tear, ensuring your boots stand the test of time and terrain.
Comfort: Adequate cushioning and support are non-negotiable for long-distance treks.
Water-Resistance: A breathably waterproof membrane, like Gore-Tex, is indispensable for an enjoyable hike in damp conditions.
To extend the lifespan of your trekking footwear, routine maintenance is as crucial as selection. After each hike, remove any dirt or debris, and when necessary, reapply a water-proof treatment to keep your boots in prime condition. Moreover, always allow your boots to air dry naturally, away from direct heat, to preserve their structural integrity. By doing so, your investment in the best hiking boots NZ has to offer will yield countless treks of outstanding performance.
Layering Strategies for Comfort and Protection
Embarking on a hike through New Zealand’s ever-changing landscapes means preparing for an array of weather conditions. The key to maintaining comfort and safety lies in mastering the art of layering with proper hiking attire. Selecting the right combination of thermal layers, waterproof jackets, and leveraging outdoor clothing technology will make all the difference in your outdoor adventure.
Base Layers for Moisture Management
Starting close to the skin, the base layer's primary function is to regulate your body temperature by moving sweat away from your body. Look for moisture-wicking fabrics like Merino wool or synthetic blends, which keep you dry and comfortable during strenuous hikes.
Insulation Layers for Warmth
To combat the chill, especially in higher altitudes, insulation layers are essential. Mid-layers such as fleece jackets or down vests provide the warmth you need without adding excessive bulk, making sure you stay agile on the trails.
Outer Layers for Wind and Rain Proofing
Finally, the outer layer protects you from the elements. Whether facing gusty winds or unexpected downpours, a robust waterproof jacket with breathable fabric is a hiker's best shield against the elements. Technologies like Gore-Tex offer both water resistance and breathability.Fabric TypeBenefitsRecommended UseMerino WoolTemperature Regulation, Odor ResistanceBase LayerSynthetic FleeceWarmth, LightweightMid LayerGore-TexWaterproof, Windproof, BreathabilityOuter Layer
By understanding and applying these layering principles, hikers can brave the dynamic conditions confidently, staying dry, warm, and secure from the base camp to the summit. Remember, proper preparation with high-quality outdoor clothing technology is not a luxury; it's a necessity for any serious adventurer.
Packing Nutrition and Hydration for the Trail
Embarking on the rugged trails of New Zealand's wilderness requires not only physical stamina but a well-thought-out plan for hiking nutrition and hydration. Appropriate fuel in the form of trail snacks and meals is a cornerstone of outdoor adventure, ensuring a constant supply of energy for the journey ahead. Likewise, understanding and employing effective hydration systems and water purification methods are vital to maintaining peak performance amidst nature's challenges.
For sustained energy, hikers should focus on nutrient-rich foods that offer a balance of proteins, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats. Trail snacks such as nuts, seeds, and dried fruits are excellent for on-the-go munching, while energy bars and gels provide a quick, convenient calorie boost. When it comes to meal planning, dehydrated meals are a lightweight option that only requires boiling water, making them an ideal choice for the intrepid trekker.
Maintaining hydration is equally crucial. Modern hydration systems, like hydration bladders and insulated water bottles, ensure that water is readily accessible without the need to stop and unpack. When traversing backcountry terrain, reliable water purification techniques—be it chemical tablets, UV light purifiers, or filtration systems—are non-negotiable to safeguard against pathogens commonly found in untreated water sources.Trail SnackBenefitsHydration ProductFeaturesMixed NutsHigh in protein and healthy fats, long-lasting energyHydration BladderHands-free, large capacity, convenient tube for sippingEnergy BarsCompact, variety of flavors, quick digestible carbsInsulated Water BottleKeeps water cool, durable, eco-friendlyDried FruitsNatural sugars for a quick energy spike, vitaminsUV Water PurifierDestroys over 99.9% of pathogens, portable, quick purification processDehydrated MealsLightweight, easy preparation, energy-denseWater Filtration SystemRemoves particulates and microorganisms, perfect for streams and lakes
Armed with a plan for optimal hiking nutrition and modes of hydration, adventurers can face the breathtaking but demanding New Zealand trails with confidence. Choosing the right mix of trail snacks, meals, hydration systems, and water purification strategies is not just a matter of sustenance but an integral part of trail safety and enjoyment.
Technical Gadgets and Tools for a Smooth Hike
Embarking on a New Zealand trek transforms into an even more gratifying experience when you arm yourself with the latest hiking technology. In an age where tech aids significantly in enhancing outdoor adventures, discerning hikers are recognizing the value of innovative gadgets to bolster safety, navigation, and convenience. From power solutions that harness the sun's energy to smart devices guiding your route, these high-tech tools are reshaping the trekking experience.
Utilizing Solar Chargers and Power Banks
Keeping your electronic devices charged is essential for both convenience and safety during long hikes. Portable charging solutions such as solar chargers and power banks have become invaluable assets on the trail. They provide hikers with the means to sustain their smartphones, GPS devices, and cameras without access to electrical grids. Solar chargers, in particular, capitalize on New Zealand's abundant daylight, offering an eco-friendly method to stay powered up and connected.
High-Tech Hiking Poles and Trail Apps
In the quest for stability and support, modern trekking poles have evolved, integrating technology that does more than just aid your stride. Advanced materials for lightweight strength and shock absorption are just the beginning. Paired with interactive trail navigation apps, hikers now have access to detailed maps, terrain analysis, and waypoint marking, all contributing to a secure and informed hiking journey. These apps not only guide your steps but also enrich your understanding of the terrain ahead.
Safety Tech: Personal Locator Beacons (PLB)
When solitary beauty is contrasted with the potential risks of remote wilderness, safety precautions become non-negotiable. Emergency locator beacons stand out as a critical piece of safety gear for any backcountry adventurer. A personal locator beacon (PLB) can be a lifeline in dire situations, sending out signals to rescue services despite the absence of traditional communication networks. They exemplify the pinnacle of hiking safety technology, providing peace of mind to both hikers and their loved ones.

Indoor gardening has gained popularity in recent years as more people discover the joy and benefits of growing plants inside their homes. An indoor greenhouse nz provides a perfect solution for plant enthusiasts, allowing them to create a thriving garden oasis within the comfort of their own space.
In this blog post, we will explore the transformative power of an indoor greenhouse and how it can bring life, beauty, and numerous benefits to your home.
Year-Round Plant Growth:
One of the key advantages of an indoor greenhouse is the ability to cultivate plants year-round, regardless of the external climate. By creating a controlled environment, you can provide optimal conditions for plant growth, including temperature, humidity, and lighting. This means you can grow a wide variety of plants, including herbs, vegetables, flowers, and even exotic or tropical species, regardless of the season. Having a year-round garden inside your home adds vibrancy and a touch of nature to your living space.
Improved Air Quality:
Plants are natural air purifiers, removing toxins and releasing oxygen into the environment. An indoor greenhouse increases the number of plants in your home, leading to improved air quality. The plants absorb harmful pollutants and release clean, fresh oxygen, creating a healthier indoor environment for you and your family. Additionally, increased humidity levels in an indoor greenhouse can help alleviate dry air, reducing respiratory issues and improving overall well-being.
Enhancing Home Aesthetics:
An indoor greenhouse transforms your home into a beautiful, green paradise. The lush foliage and vibrant colors of the plants add a visually appealing element to your interior design. You can choose from a variety of plants with different textures, sizes, and colors to create a customized and aesthetically pleasing indoor garden. Whether you prefer a minimalist setup with sleek planters or a more eclectic display with cascading vines and hanging baskets, an indoor greenhouse becomes a focal point that adds character and charm to your home.
Stress Relief and Well-being:
Spending time around plants has been shown to reduce stress levels and improve overall well-being. The soothing presence of nature indoors has a calming effect on the mind and helps create a sense of tranquility. Tending to your indoor greenhouse, nurturing the plants, and watching them grow can be a therapeutic and rewarding experience. The act of gardening has been linked to reducing anxiety, boosting mood, and promoting relaxation, making your indoor greenhouse a haven for self-care and mental rejuvenation.
Educational and Learning Opportunities:
An indoor greenhouse provides a wonderful educational opportunity for both children and adults. It offers a hands-on learning experience about plant life cycles, horticulture, and the importance of environmental conservation. Children can develop a sense of responsibility and learn valuable lessons about nurturing living things. An indoor greenhouse also encourages exploration, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. It is a place where you can discover new plant species, experiment with different growing techniques, and expand your knowledge of gardening.
Conclusion:
Transforming your home with an indoor greenhouse nz offers a multitude of benefits. From year-round plant growth and improved air quality to enhancing home aesthetics, reducing stress, and providing educational opportunities, an indoor greenhouse brings nature's beauty and the joy of gardening right into your living space.
Embrace your green thumb inside and create a thriving oasis that not only adds life and charm to your home but also nourishes your well-being. Discover the transformative power of an indoor greenhouse and enjoy the countless rewards of nurturing and connecting with nature every day.

#7602 Badlands Pedestal (New Zealand Cascade) (Canada) Pedestal has been a great single hop series from the lords at Badlands, and their latest is a fascinating one. Coming in at 6.5%, this rocks Cascade hops from Freestyle in NZ, and it’s entirely different from any Cascade you’ve ever had. It pours hazy af with a fluffy head and a juicy, citrusy nose, the body is creamy with sweet stone fruit, mango and citrus notes, there’s some grape vibes, it’s sticky with red berry elements and some light pine, wrapping in a dusty, smooth finish. Fascinating and killer. (at Hamilton, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cntfd-sOOP6/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

New @idiombrewingco collab dropping tomorrow: "Soul Gazer" Thiolized Hazy DIPA (8.5%) ft. NZ Cascade, Citra Cryo, Moutere, NZH-107 & Nelson Sauvin hops brewed w/ Phantasm 🧙♂️ This big DIPA was loaded with thiol precursors as we mash hopped with NZ Cascade and whirlpooled with powdered NZ Sauvignon Blanc grape skins (via innovation from @phantasm.nz). We then unlocked all that juicy thiol potential using @omegayeast's Helio Gazer strain to create a juice bomb IPA that drinks almost as if a boatload passion fruits themselves has been juiced straight into the glass. Citra Cryo, Moutere, NZH-107 & Nelson Sauvin hops lend white grape and lime accents but tropical passion fruit brought on by loads of liberated, tasty aromatic thiols is the star of the show here. This beer is truly one of the most uniquely delicious concoctions we have ever created. Now available for pre-order on biermi (link in bio!) Dropping in the tap room and via @truerespite_distro tomorrow. @thecraftcoalition gets their allotment Thursday.
