Ω PJO DEMIGOD HEADCANONS: 🌌 NYX: PERSONIFICATION OF NIGHT 🌌
Author’s note: *put head into hands* Alright, so I may or may not have went off from the usual formula (Do I even have a formula for writing these at this point?) and I think I may have made the primordial demigods here more cryptid cause they’re the literal by-product of primordial beings that are also half-mortal? I won’t be including the usual blurbs at the ending cause all of them are probably pushing the word limit Tumblr has but worry not, I made up for it by putting more storylines into the whole thing. PRIMORDIAL DEMIGODS MASTERLIST: [LINK]
You were born as a denizen of the night; a literal night-owl. You were born out of curiosity for why the gods, or more specifically why her children, especially  Hypnos, being the God of Sleep, still produce demigod children. Although you were born out of curiosity, Nyx does have some affection for you but only because you are a part of herself, and it's clear she upholds her immortal children more affectionately. Yet you stared up at your mother with sparking star eyes. She is afterall, the maternal being and mother of Shadows.
Despite Nyx’s clear treatment, you listen to your godly mother’s words like she hung the stars herself and do what you can to make her proud of you. So when Nyx told you to go a mission for her to join forces with the child of Gaea and the child of Tartarus in their cause, you immediately jumped up and told Nyx you would do it.
You caught the look that the child of Erebus was giving you, one of concern but you didn’t think much of it; they were just probably overprotective, as they’ve been when you two were first introduced, and didn’t think you could handle the outside world. The child of Erebus was also told to join and they simply nodded and bowed to Erebus and Nyx, before helping you prepare.
When you joined the child of Gaea and Tartarus, you introduced yourself to them first and eagerly followed them, in awe that there were more children of primordials and that they were the children of Gaea and Tartarus! You had heard of the child of Tartarus before, catching glimpses of them from afar, before they were picked up by Gaea.
The child of Tartarus recognized you and welcomed you, introducing you personally to the child of Gaea who smiled like a flower but as you held their hands with them, you could feel the power trembling within them.
You followed them on their cause to search for other primordial children, but as you did, you were excited in the child of Hemera who was basically your parallel. However, you were all interrupted by the child of Chaos and Eros then you started to feel unsure about your cause; you were all children of Primordials, shouldn’t you all have the same cause?
Being the daughter of Night itself, you can imagine what kind of powers you have: darkness, shadows, the night itself is at your beckon. When it is night, your power rises exponentially and you can hide yourself and others under the guise of night. You can shadow travel as well while also manipulate the shadows as well. You can also induce nightmares onto others and peer into their minds and souls when required, learning about their weakness which you can bring forth with bits of magic and the power of shadows and darkness. You can also technically make the night seem longer but you have no control over the moon or the stars. Be careful how much you use your powers though. While you are more powerful in the night, your power is limited in the day. You can’t push yourself too much in the day as your powers will be drained and you will need to rest during the night.
A key feature about you is that your shadows are also dark like the child of Erebus, and your eyes seem darker than others; however yours do have some light in them, in fact they seem to sparkle like stars. When it's night, your form changes to match it, and sometimes if you’re not too careful, your form will dissolve and blend with the night. Which is useful in terms of espionage, you have a time limit to literally pull yourself together before dawn peeks over the horizon and you float in the night cycle otherwise.

Dear tennos, I think I just made a braindead build for the H-09 apex tank. (Credits to Karmana who inspired me with the concept!)
I just completed the rest of the hex members 1st try in less than an hour , like it's so brain dead i thought i was getting a bug. Asked 5 of my friends to tested it out and they killed the apex either 1st or 2nd time with this build, which they were struggling to get their 1st solo completetion before this build. I'll show it here as well, hope that helps anyone who wanted to give it a go.
Tumblr media
Please keep in mind that the builds I'm showing below are just my preference, you don't have to 100% follow them. This build will focus on mainly surviability which I did struggle a bit on my 1st completetion, and this build is certainly Not for Early Game!!!! Please don't get angry at me for showing a build that you can't achieved in a very short pierod of time. The apex tank content was designed to be challenging and it requires a good understanding of the mods and gameplay. The main goal here is to help as much as possible for the completetion and if that works for you it will absolutely made my day ><!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are things you want to focus and it will MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER !!!!!!
Frame shown : No Forma Nyx Prime (my Cyte09 Mag Trin Volt Excalibur has at least 2-4 formas, my Nyx is the weakest which is perfect to show how shit I am hell yea)
Archon Shard: Tao Azure shard x3 : health x2 ,Armor x1
Subsumed Ability: Dispensary (Protea)
Focus: Madurai (Vazirin works too if u prefer the protective sling)
Aura: Corrosive Projection (I prefer Brief Despite, Energy Siphon /Physique/Steel Charge are also best for Auras! )
Companian: Wyrm Prime
HEALTH ,AMOR, DAMAGE REDUCTION : You want DAMAGE REDUCTION to move around if you lose all your sheild and during rolling guard cool down! More health and amor = more dmg reduction! ( Thank you Karmana giving me a heads-up with inaros health build, the apex is joke to Inaros) YES I AM VERY AWARE SHEILD GATING IS A THING (love it and use it in almost all my builds) I DID MY FIRST COMPLETETION WITH CYTE-09 PURE FULL SHEILD GATE BUILD , WITH NO HEALTH NO ARMOR NO DAMAGE REDUCTION NO MAX ARMOR STRIP AND I WANT AN ALTERNATIVE BUILD WHICH WORKS ON MY OTHER FRAME. Arcane Blessing will give you more max health, and with Protea's Dispensary will max it out very quickly.
The Important Mods Quick Thinking + Hunter Adernaline + Rolling Guard: Quick thinking will drain energy when u take leathal damage, with high max health you can take advantage of Hunter Adernaline (or Rage) for energy in return. Quick Thinking is such a life saver lets you get away with apex's BS macanics 90% of the time. Rolling Guard to let you get immune to all dmg type. ( I also added Adaptation and Aviator to get extra damage reduction to not get 1 shot to death. Energy Nexus in case you ran out of energy to cast Dispensary or your other abilities. Better be safe than Sorry) Flow/ Equalibrium is optional if you don't want to use Energy Nexus . You could use Acane Energize for energy regen but it's just not that good for the apex even with Dispensary.
The Helminth Ability Dispensary : This will synergize with all the mods and arcane for the build. To let you always have energy to proc Quick Thinking. When you take leathal damage you lose both health and energy , you can replenish both quickly with Dispensary. Make sure you spam it in apex phase 1 and 2 to keep orb flow sufficient. Arcane Energize is optional for energy regen , however it's just not as efficent as Dispensary plus it wasted a slot. I invest heavily on energy flow to stay alive because I hate being send to the backroom when i die and Steven point at me with a flipflop saying 'Failure'
Good quality of life: Arcane Nullifier to negate most of the magnetic proc from the apex tank, Arcane Fortifier on your pistol will give you overguard when u use pistol on eximus, phase 1 and 2 with all the eximus spawning should give the overguard you need to deal with the apex tank. Nira's Hatrated not only gives you health, the set bonus for extra 100% slam damage is amazing because we are going to using heavy slam a lot. Aviator to let you take less damage when you are shooting the weakspot on top of the apex. Madurai Focus School to give you Void Strike, you can deal even more slam damage in 8 seconds. The shorter it takes to kill apex the less risk you take. Wyrm Prime's Negate and all the shield regen mods will increase your surviability.
Melee Weapon choice: Magistar Incarnon or Sampotes, they are just too godly for this apex fight. Sampotes will need to keep a short distance for the waves to damage the tank, direct hit on apex tank has No damage >[]< !
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is my Latron Prime with Incarnon above, you can also use weapons you prefer (suggestions from feedback: kuva hek/ Torid Incarnon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The epitaph to get overguard and slow + prime the enemies. Melee choice I pick Sampotes, I took both rivens off so my friends use the build with no rivens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's my drifter loadout in case you would like to know ;)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thesse are my build for Trinity, Mag and Excalibur. Trinity is so easy she does not need Dispensary, once you remove the overguard you can cast ablilities for energy + life pulse. Excalibur Umbra by far the easiest for no reason I even took off rolling guard. Mag can abuse all shield regen just remember to maintain your energy flow and you are all set!
If you have any good suggestion and builds that works very well please show some love and share to other tennos too. I know many MANY player actually hated this content and even with end game gears and loadouts can't complete the H-09 Apex fight. That is also why I make this build to help my friends out so they can have their fav hex memeber glyphs >w< !!!
Thank you so much for your time if you read all of these. Either this helps or not please kindly give me some feedbacks so it can be further improved to help even more players!! I appreciate it!!! Lastly I wish you All The Good Lucks Tennos !!

The House of Wind was too quiet for a game night.
No footsteps in the hall, no laughter or clatter of chairs. Just the soft pop of faelight overhead and the faint whistle of wind slipping through the balcony doors. You were already seated at the table when Cassian walked in—two bottles of wine tucked under one arm, the corker in hand.
“You’re early,” he said, setting everything down with a grin that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Trying to rig the deck before I get here?”
You shrugged. “Just wanted the good seat.”
He pulled out the chair across from you. “Rhys and Feyre running late?”
You shook your head. “Nyx has a fever. Feyre sent word earlier—he’s fussy, they’re staying in tonight.”
Cassian winced. “Shit. Poor kid.”
A pause, then a  frown. “Az won’t make it either,” he said. “Something came up. Didn’t say what, but he was half out the door already when I saw him earlier.”
You nodded slowly. “Mor left for Adriata this morning.”
He looked up at that. “Did she? Thought that was next week.”
“Apparently not.”
Cassian let out a quiet huff and sank into his chair. “And Amren told us not to wait up, so… we already know what that means.”
Your eyes drifted to the five empty chairs, the untouched glasses. The way the silence stretched its arms and made itself comfortable.
“So,” you said lightly, “just us, then.”
“Guess so.”
There was a pause. A breath. He uncorked one of the bottles.
You nudged a glass toward him. “Might as well, right?”
He poured for both of you. “You planning to let me win tonight?”
You raised a brow. “You planning to cheat again?”
Cassian gave you a slow, lazy smile. “No one’s ever proved it.”
You smiled back, but your chest felt tight. Like everything unsaid had already pulled up a chair and poured itself a drink.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
The first round of cards was a disaster.
You were halfway through a hand of Five Crowns—rules long-forgotten and redrawn over time—when you realized neither of you was really trying.
Cassian squinted at his cards like they’d personally offended him. “Okay, but remind me again—are red threes wild, or just completely useless?”
“You made that rule up last time,” you said, taking a slow sip of wine. “To get out of losing.”
“Sounds like something I’d do.” His grin barely flickered before fading again.
You dropped your hand onto the table. “This is pathetic.”
“I’m just warming up.”
“You’re not even trying.”
Cassian leaned back in his chair, tilting onto the back two legs—something he only did when he was restless. “Maybe it’s more fun when everyone else is here.”
You opened your mouth, closed it again. “Yeah.”
That silence returned. Not uncomfortable—not yet—but heavy. Like the night was trying to figure out what it wanted to be.
He flicked a card across the table. It spun out, missed by a mile. “Okay. If you had to fight one of us—no powers, no wings, just hand-to-hand—who are you picking?”
You gave him a look. “That’s not a real question.”
“Sure it is.”
“I’m not fighting any of you.”
“Lame.”
You sighed. “Fine. Mor.”
Cassian barked a laugh. “Mor would wipe the floor with you.”
“Exactly. I wouldn’t even have time to regret it.”
That got a real smile out of him, warm and sudden and too brief. You held onto it a second too long before it flickered out.
You picked your cards back up.
He refilled your glasses without asking.
You watched the pour, the way his hands moved—steady, practiced. Familiar. You used to know them better than your own.
Maybe you still did.
There’d been a time—just a handful of months, scattered between the chaos—when familiarity meant skin, not just proximity. It had been careful at first, clumsy sometimes. Heated always. But the line you never crossed remained untouched. No kisses. No morning afters. No pretending.
You cleared your throat. “So, how’s… what’s-her-name? The one you’ve been training with.”
Cassian stilled. Not fully. Just a hitch in motion. Barely there.
“Lira?”
You nodded. “Yeah.”
“She’s… fine.”
You swirled your glass slowly, watching the wine catch the light. “You’ve been seeing her a lot.”
There was no edge in your voice. Not that you could hear.
Cassian looked up, his eyes darker now. “Didn’t realize you were keeping track.”
It hit sharper than you expected. You blinked. Let out a breath that wanted to be a laugh. “I’m not. Just making conversation.”
He didn’t respond.
The quiet this time wasn’t gentle. It curled into the corners of the room and pushed inward, until the distance between you felt wider than it had all night.
You reached for another card—though you weren’t sure if the game was even still going—pretending to focus on them. The edges were soft from years of use, the corners bent like old habits.
Cassian didn’t say anything as he reached toward the deck for his own card. You could feel him looking at you, though—could feel the weight of his attention even when you weren’t meeting his eyes.
“So,” you said, tone too light, “any big missions coming up? Or are you finally getting a week off from being Rhys’ personal blunt instrument?”
He snorted under his breath. “I think I’m due for one. But you know how it goes. Someone’s always starting something.”
You nodded, reaching for a card you didn’t need. “You ever think about not doing it? The whole flying around, yelling at people, getting stabbed thing?”
Cassian tilted his head. “You offering me a retirement plan?”
“I’d make a terrible HR rep,” you muttered. “But sure. You could come work with me. Reorganize the archive, maybe.”
He made a face. “That your idea of a soft life? Drowning in paper cuts and moldy books?”
You shrugged. “Better than bleeding out in a war camp.”
Something crossed his face then—fast, unreadable. Regret, maybe. Or guilt. You’d seen it before, but never aimed at you.
“I didn’t know it bothered you,” he said quietly.
“What?”
“When I go out.”
You blinked. “It doesn’t.”
Cassian didn’t move. “You sure?”
Your pulse ticked higher. You weren’t sure what you were answering anymore.
You set your cards down again. “You’re reading into things.”
“Am I?”
You met his gaze this time. Steady, sharp. “You think I care who you spend time with? That I’m sitting around counting days between messages or missions or—”
“I didn’t say that.”
“No. But you implied it.”
The silence thickened. This wasn’t about Lira. Not really. You weren’t even sure what it was about anymore, only that something between you had shifted, and neither of you knew how to fix it without tearing it wider.
Cassian looked at you like he wanted to say something. Like he was about to.
And then he did.
“You’re jealous.”
The words landed without drama. No accusation in his tone, just certainty. Like he was stating the weather.
You stared at him, lips parting. “I’m not.”
He laughed, once—soft, almost sad. “You are.”
“I’m not, Cass.”
“You brought her up. You never ask about who I spend time with. Not unless it’s already eating at you.”
That flicked something deep and ugly in you. “I brought her up because you’ve been weird. Distant.”
“Right. So you’re not jealous. You’re just keeping score.”
You opened your mouth. Closed it. The tension stretched taut between you. Then you dropped your gaze, exhaled slow. “Forget it.”
He didn’t push again. Just reached for his glass.
You picked up your cards.
Neither of you said anything for a while. The only sounds that kept you company were the shuffle of cards, the slow pour of wine, and nervous, too-loud sips. Time slipped by. The room grew darker, the faelights glowing low and warm. You weren’t even playing anymore—just touching the cards to feel something.
The silence wasn’t empty. It was crowded—every glance you’d avoided, every thought you’d buried, everything unsaid pressing against the edges of the room like it wanted to break through the walls.
You hadn’t asked about Lira because you cared about Lira. You asked because you didn’t know how to ask about him anymore—about where he went when he left like that, distant and unreadable. About why it felt like you’d been shut out of something you used to live inside.
You didn’t know what you were to him now. What he was to you.
The rules had been clear once. Friends. That was all. A quiet agreement, never spoken aloud, but respected. Even when it hurt. Even when it almost didn’t hold. Especially when it almost didn’t hold.
But then came the nights you spent longer in his bed than in your own. The mornings in the training ring when he brushed your shoulder like it meant something. And you’d told yourself, over and over, that it didn’t matter. That you didn’t matter.
“You know,” Cassian said eventually, voice quieter than before, “I almost kissed you last Solstice.”
You blinked. Once. Twice.
You hadn’t expected him to speak—much less say that.
The words sank in slow. Like they’d been waiting, buried under everything else, and had finally clawed their way out.
“…Why?” you asked, voice rough.
Cassian didn’t look at you at first. He leaned back in his chair, thumb running along the rim of his glass. “You looked at me like you wanted me to.”
A pause. “And I did. Gods, I did.”
Another pause, heavier this time. “But you were pulling away. I thought if I kissed you, I’d lose you for good.”
Your pulse stuttered. The worst part was—you understood. But that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt.
“I meant,” you shifted in your seat, “why would you tell me that?”
Cassian looked at you then. Really looked. His eyes, usually grounded and sharp, softened—the usual confident edge was gone, replaced by a kind of quiet desperation that made your breath catch. “Because I’m tired of pretending none of it mattered.”
You stared at him, breath catching. Then, sharper: “Well maybe you should’ve kept pretending.”
His brow furrowed. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It’s not like it would’ve meant anything.”
Cassian’s jaw flexed. “You don’t have to do that.”
“Do what?”
He gestured toward you—vague, frustrated. “Pretend none of it mattered.”
You let out a breathy, bitter laugh. “You’re one to talk.”
“I told you—”
“Doesn’t matter.” You grabbed another card. “Anyway, it’s not like you’re the only one with… options.”
That made him pause. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
You shrugged, eyes fixed on the deck. “Just that I’ve been… seeing someone. Kind of. Talking, more like.”
Silence.
You didn’t dare look up.
Cassian’s voice was quieter now. “Who?”
You shuffled the cards, aimless. “Nobody serious.”
He waited. Then, slower: “What’s his name?”
You blinked hard. Your throat felt tight. “Does it matter?”
He didn’t respond.
You weren’t sure what made you say it. Maybe the wine. Maybe the ache. Maybe the fact that if you admitted how badly you still wanted him, something in you would split open.
So instead, you lied.
“Azriel.”
Cassian’s head lifted. His entire body went still.
Then—calm. Too calm. “Azriel.”
You nodded, eyes locked on your cards. “It’s recent.”
“Since when?”
You hesitated. “A couple weeks.”
“Does he know we—” He stopped himself. “Forget it.”
“No,” you said. “Say it.”
Cassian’s voice dropped, darker. “Does he know what we were?”
You didn’t answer. Couldn’t.
He leaned forward, forearms braced on the table. “Why him?”
You met his gaze. You could see the flicker behind his eyes—hurt, maybe. Anger. Worse: understanding.
“Why not him?” you said, sharper than intended.
He let out a breath. That kind of sound people make when they’re trying not to yell.
Then: “You’re lying.”
Your heart skipped. “I’m not.”
“You are. You’ve never looked at Azriel like that.”
You lifted your chin. “Maybe you just never noticed.”
“I notice everything when it comes to you.”
You stared at each other across the table. Cards forgotten. Wine going warm. The years between you finally catching flame.
And he said it again, softer this time. “You’re lying.”
Your lip trembled. You tried to smile. “Does it make a difference?”
Cassian’s voice was low. “Yes.”
You swallowed. “Why?”
“I told you,” he said quietly. “I almost kissed you last Solstice.”
Then, his voice more rough around the edges: “You have no idea how many times I didn’t. How many nights I held back because of that conversation the last time we—”
“Don’t do that. Don’t turn this on me like I’m the one making things complicated.”
“You are making things complicated.” His jaw clenched, eyes hardening. “You act like I’m the one who changed, but you’re the one who started drawing the line.”
“I had to,” you snapped. “Because you wouldn’t say anything. You never say anything.”
“How could I? Every time I got too close, you pulled back!”
“Because you were the first to act like it didn’t mean anything! Like it was just fun! Like all of it was just—” You stopped yourself short, breath catching.
Cassian’s jaw tightened. “You told me it didn’t mean anything.”
“And you believed me?”
His mouth opened. Closed. “You made it clear.”
“You didn’t even try. You let me do all the deciding. You just sat there and let it happen.”
“What the fuck was I supposed to say?” That muscle in his jaw twitched again. Then the words tore out of him—louder than he meant, like he hadn’t planned to say them at all. “That I wanted you? That I’ve always wanted you?”
You froze.
Cassian stepped closer, his voice rough now. “You set the rules. Friends. Just friends. You smiled like it didn’t completely fucking gut you, and I went along with it because I thought—gods, I thought that was better than losing you.”
Your breath caught. “You never said that.”
“I didn’t think I was allowed to.”
You met his eyes, fury and heartbreak colliding somewhere in your chest. The silence wasn’t sharp anymore. Just hollow.
Cassian looked at you like he was still trying to understand what just happened. Or maybe trying not to.
You stepped back before he could try again.
It wasn’t a dramatic exit. No slammed doors, no flying footsteps. Just space—a slow, aching retreat toward the hallway. Toward air. Distance. Anything else.
“Don’t,” he said softly.
You paused, one hand brushing the doorframe.
“Don’t walk away. Not this time.”
Your pulse was a war drum.
“Please.”
You turned back toward him. “And why shouldn’t I?”
Cassian crossed the room like it cost him something. No armor. No grin to soften it. Just him, raw and unguarded, stopping inches from you.
“I didn’t choose her,” he said. “Or anyone else.”
You couldn’t look at him. “You didn’t choose me, either.”
He didn’t argue. Just stepped in closer, waiting for you to flinch. You didn’t.
“I tried to stay where you put me,” he murmured. “Tried to be what you needed.”
“I needed you to say something.”
“I’m saying it now.”
That was the moment. Not loud. Not grand. Just close.
His hand lifted, hovered by your cheek—hesitating.
You leaned in before he could finish the thought.
The kiss wasn’t careful. It was never going to be.
It was too much, and not enough, and far, far too late. It tasted like frustration and wine, like relief and grief and every almost you’d left hanging between you.
His hands found your waist, your jaw. Yours tangled in the front of his shirt. The heat of him was overwhelming—every breath, every touch, every stifled sound pressed between you. You kissed him like you’d been starving for it—because you were. And he kissed you like he’d never forgive himself for waiting this long—because he wouldn’t.
Neither of you pulled back. Not right away. Not until the shaking in your hands started to ease, until the desperation gave way to something softer, steadier.
When you finally did part, you were both breathing like you’d just run out of a storm.
Cassian rested his forehead to yours. “So… do we ruin everything now, or later?”
You huffed something like a laugh. “That depends. Are you staying?”
“Only if you ask.”
You didn’t say anything. Just took his hand and turned toward your room.

Winter’s Ball
@sjmxreaderweek May 8th Prompt: Heirs/Lords & Ladies
Adult!Nyx x Winter!Reader, Reader is Kallias and Viviane’s daughter, Ballroom Dancing, Azriel and Cassian are instigators
Tumblr media
Cassian and Azriel had worn twin smirks for the better part of two hours now, their nephew serving as better entertainment at this ball than the food or dancing.
Nyx, Heir of Night, well into his young adult years, could not seem to tear his eyes away from a female on the other side of the expansive white and pale blue ballroom.
The Night Court, as well as many other High Lords and their immediate courts, had been invited to this glittering winter ball by Kallias and Viviane to celebrate their beloved child’s birthday.
The ballroom was decked from floor to ceiling in beautiful ice crystal decorations. Ice sculptures flanked the room as silent, shiver inducing sentinels. Winter’s beloved flora in the form of holly sprigs, camellias and snowdrops brought soft pops of additional color throughout the space.
The female Nyx had been staring at for the better part of the event was happily conversing with Nesta, Rhys, Feyre and, of course, her doting parents, High Lord and Lady of Winter.
Your dress suited you perfectly. A white, jewel encrusted bodice that trailed down to an elegantly bunched waist, leading further into a soft blue gradient skirt. Sheer sleeves covered your arms like frostbite.
Your smile, however, was the thing Nyx’s gaze settled on. You spoke animatedly, genuinely thanking his aunt and parents for attending, much to the joy of all in the conversation. You lit up the room like sunlight on fresh snow.
You bid your thanks to them again, your parents patting you on the shoulders and you took your leave, approaching the dance floor as the string band took up a new song.
You moved beautifully and Nyx found himself following you with his eyes the entire time.
A winter courtier, a cousin of yours, spun you around the room, your laughter mingling with the music and other sounds of the room seamlessly.
When the song neared its end, Azriel and Cassian looked between you and their beloved nephew and shared conspiring grins.
Azriel chuckled lowly, more a visual shake of his shoulders than an audible sound, as Cassian said, “Go get her, kid.”
Nyx barely had time to blink and say, “what-“ when his uncles shoved him directly into you.
You cried out softly as you stumbled on your heels, flailing your arms out for balance. Soon enough they locked on two other, broader arms. You glanced up to find blue grey eyes staring down at you in concern. You knew who they belonged to, but this was the first time you had been this close to them. Their color reminded you of dark river ice or your favorite frozen fjord.
A call of your name brought you out of your head as Nyx fearfully asked, “Are you alright?”
You swallowed, cleared your throat. “Yes.”
“Are you sure?” He asked, attentiveness incarnate, “you look faint.”
Finally recovered, you smiled up at him, “then it’s a good thing I had such a capable male to catch me, isn’t it.”
It was Nyx’s turn to flush. “Yes. Yes it is.”
You took stock in the near dip he still held you in and smirked, “now, despite this usually being the position a dance ends in, I’d be remiss if I didn’t ask you, sir. Care for a dance?”
Nyx straightened immediately, still holding you. He raised one hand to his mouth and coughed, recovering in the same way you had. He only let you go to bow and extend a hand.
“Who would I be to deny the female of the evening? It would be an honor to, my lady, if you’d have me.”
You fondly rolled your eyes and smiled. “Please.” You took his hand.
Nyx’s answering grin could have put the stars themselves to shame and your breath momentarily caught as he swept you off into a waltz. The band noticed and pitched into a sweeping, romantic song.
The ballroom cleared for the two of you, the entire assembly watching you twirl and spin, not that either of you noticed.
Cassian smiled as he watched, laying his hand out in Azriel’s direction. His brother responded with a smile and answering low five.
Other would-be suitors of yours grumbled to themselves as it quickly became clear, just watching the joyful glimmer in your eyes, that you would not be dancing with anyone else the rest of the evening.
The party trickled back into its usual form after the song concluded, but to you two, heirs of Night and Winter, the rest of the world ceased to be.
And you wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Unspoken fights
Azriel x reader
Feyre wonders why Azriel and his mate aren't speaking to each other. Rhys explains about there unusual communication habits and she feels the need to fix it.
There were still two empty seats around the dinner table. Everyone had started eating already, not wanting to wait another half hour for Azriel and Y/N.
It didn't take much longer before they came walking in. Feyre quickly noticed them walking a few feet apart from each other. At least not as close as they usually were with each other.
Y/N walked in front of Azriel, her face showing no sign of emotion. She walked straight for Cassian's seat instead of the two empty ones on the other side of the table.
Azriel sighed softly and took a seat in one of the empty seats, immediately filling his plate with food. He didn't even acknowledge his family.
"Move." Y/N ordered Cassian, leaving no room for any argument. To Feyre's surprise, Cassian listened and moved over to the seat next to Azriel, leaving Y/N to sit next to Mor.
Cassian turned to face Azriel. His mouth opened to say something, but Azriel cut him off before he even got the chance to. "Don't even start." he said to his brother, not bothering to look at him.
Feyre watched the mated couple with concern. They never acted like this. At least not to her knowledge.
Feyre reached for Rhys mentally. 'What is going on with them?'
Rhys also watched the two and sighed, shaking his head. 'Probably a disagreement. This never lasts long. They will make up and talk about it tonight and tomorrow it is as it never happened.'
Y/N had now started eating as well, ignoring Cassians pointed look for claiming his seat. Azriel on the other hand had stopped eating and was just staring at the wall with a grumpy face.
'Does this happen often?' Feyre questioned.
'Not really. Maybe once a year.' Rhys answered. 'They have their disagreements and differences, but they always talk about it immediately. They never let it get as far as... whatever this is.'
After dinner everyone went their own way. Except for Y/N, who decided to stay in the dinning room even when Azriel had left.
Feyre had seen Azriel glance at his mate for a moment, hesitating to walk towards her before he continued to walk out.
It was well past midnight when Feyre decided to get something to drink from the kitchen. She noticed the lights in the dining hall still being turned on.
Feyre poked her head inside, finding Y/N still in the same place she had last seen her. She was staring at the wall in front of her, an empty glass of wine on the table.
"Y/N?" Feyre said softly.
She almost jumped from the sound of her voice. "Oh, Feyre. Sorry I didn't see you there."
Feyre stood in the doorway. "Are you okay?" she asked her friend.
Y/N stayed silent for a short moment, her face filling with emotion. "Yes. Everything is okay."
Feyre could tell that the answer wasn't true.
"I actually wondered if I could stay here for the night?" she asked.
The question shocked Feyre a bit. As far as she knew, Y/N had never voluntarily slept away from home. Away from her mate.
"Yes, of course. But are you sure you don't want to go home?" she still decided to ask.
Y/N stood from her seat, making her way towards the door Feyre was standing.
"I'm sure. If you don't mind, I'll be going to my old room." she said, giving Feyre a tight mouthed smile and walking past her.
She obviously meant her and Az's old room. She always called it that.
Feyre decided to leave it for the night and return to her own mate, who was waiting for her upstairs.
The next morning Y/N ate breakfast with her, Rhys and Nyx. Her mood was definitely off.
She normally wasn't much of a talker, but now she was just quiet. She also looked extremely tired, as if she hadn't slept at all last night.
'Shouldn't they be back to normal by now?' Feyre asked Rhys mentally.
'Honestly, the fact that she even chose to sleep here last night does worry me.' Rhys told me.
Feyre debated saying something about it, but Rhys warned her before she had the chance. 'They'll be back to normal by tonight.' Rhys told her promising, even when he didn't sound so sure herself.
Y/N had disappeared during the day. Probably off to her normal duties.
Feyre felt surprised when she entered the River House in the afternoon and found Y/N sitting in the living room, with no sign of Azriel.
She greeted Feyre with a soft smile before sitting down on a chair by the fire.
"So did you do anything fun today?" she suddenly asked.
"I took a walk with Nyx and helped Rhys with work. Nothing more." Feyre asked with a smile. "What about you?" she asked with hesitation.
Y/N sighed, staying silent after. Then she just shrugged. "Not really. I just feel.. I don't know."
Feyre suddenly understood why she started a conversation. Y/N wanted distraction.
"It's okay to miss him. Even it's been a day." Feyre decided to tell her. Y/N just avoided her eyes at that.
She stayed silent for a good ten seconds.
"It's just so stupid." she said.
"What is stupid?" Feyre questioned.
"This whole pointless fight. I mean I started it. I got mad about something that wasn't even his fault. And I just wanted to be right so bad." she started speaking quickly. "And I made him feel so bad and I didn't even mean it like that. I just felt jealous. And now I ruined everything and-"
"Calm down a second. You're just spitting out your words at this point." Feyre chuckled. "Why were you jealous?"
Y/N stared into the crackling fire, hiding her face from Feyre. "A Fae woman stopped Azriel on our way to dinner to ask him something. She touched his arm." she told me. "And he immediately pulled away. He was just being polite by answering her. But I still got so mad and it was just stupid."
Feyre did understand her jealousy. She had experienced it with Rhys countless of times before.
"Even after being mated for decades I still sometimes get periods where my instincts are worse than normal. Just before we entered the River House I decided to ignore him. And just to prove a point I stayed away from him last night. But now I feel so guilty. And he's probably mad at me at this point." she sounded disappointed with herself.
Feyre moved over to her friend. "Of course he's not mad at you." Feyre told her reassuring. "It's Azriel. He loves you too much to be mad at you over this."
Y/N slowly moved her eyes to look at Feyre. She nodded to herself. "Yes. Yes, I hope so." she said. "But I haven't acted this childish in years. So I can understand if he were mad at me."
"Trust me, I would've had the same reaction as you." Feyre told her with a small laugh. "Why don't we ask Azriel to come here so you can explain it to him? I'll be here if you need me."
She nodded. "Yes. That'll probably be a good idea." she answered. "I'll see if I can get to him through the bond."
It didn't take very long before the front door of the River House opened and closed. The sound of it was soft, like someone who usually came in with no sound.
Azriel definitely let his presence be known by his footsteps, which were heavier than usual.
When Azriel entered the room, Y/N immediately stood from her seat.
"Az, I'm sor-"
"I'm so s-"
They both cut each other off.
Y/N stared at Azriel. "What do you need to be sorry for? It was me who did it." she took a step closer to her mate.
"Yes, but I still have to apologize for even letting that woman get close to me, I shouldn't have."
"No, you don't need to apologize for being kind towards a woman. I could see you pull away. And she only placed a hand on you. I am the one who should be sorry."
Azriel went quiet for a few seconds. Y/N stared at him with emotion in her eyes.
Who knew that the two of them had arguments like this. I was just sitting in a chair, watching them.
"This is so stupid." Azriel said.
A small smile formed on Y/N lips. "It is." she told him. "But I understand if you're mad at me."
"Of course I'm not mad at you. I did the same thing at the start of our relationship, remember? And that was before we were even mated. So I understand." he told her. "Come here." he opened his arms for her to walk in to.
I could hear Y/N whisper some things to her mate, but I soon felt like I was invading their privacy.
Azriel noticed my awkward look and smiled. He placed a hand on the small of Y/N's back. "Let's go home." he told her softly.
She nodded and let him lead her out of the room.
She threw a quick look over her shoulder, mouthing thank you to Feyre.

Rock Paper Scissors
Author’s Note: I really love the idea of Rhys, Cass, and the reader doing stupid things together :))
Summary: You get in trouble with your High Lord and get sent on a mission as a punishment
Pairing: Azriel x Reader
Warnings: let me know if I need to add any :)
"How did you get stuck doing this?" Azriel asked you
You were both hiking through a dense rain forrest, in search of a special tree. The wood had some sort of magical powers and even one branch would help the Night Court out.
"Cass and I helped Rhys sneak Nyx out so we could try to fly with him." you told the shadowsinger
"What?!" He responded with a small laugh
You, Cassian, and Rhys all woke up Nyx early from his nap to try and sneak him out. Feyre didn't want him learning how to fly yet but Rhys was so excited. And there were three of you, so you knew Nyx would be safe.
Rhys was on top of the hill with Nyx while you and Cass were at the base of it. Right before his first attempt, Feyre showed up and stopped it. You and Cass took off before she could see you and went back home, leaving Rhys to take all the heat.
You and Cassian were sitting in chairs in the living room pretending you had been there for a long time when Feyre walked in holding Nyx and Rhys was close behind her.
She was yelling at him for a good five minutes before she took a breath.
"He was completely safe, I promise. Just please calm down." Rhys made the mistake of telling her.
"Calm down? You wanted to teach my son to fly without my permission and you're telling me to calm down?!" She screeched
You and Cassian couldn't help but stare and listen as Rhys got scolded.
"No sex for 2 weeks." She told her mate.
"That's not fair at all!" Rhys pouted.
"Oh yeah? Then make it a month!" She told him as she left the room.
At that, you and Cass both let out a laugh you had been desparately trying to hold in. Rhys snapped his head to you both, glaring at the two of you, which caused you both to straighten up.
You pretended to be looking at something on the carpet while Cass pretended to look at the ceiling.
"Ah y/n look at this..." Cassian trailed off, trying to make it look like you two weren't paying attention.
"Oh my, I've never seen such a great ceiling" You added as Rhys came up to you two.
"A great celing?" Rhys questioned
"Yeah I mean, you have outdone yourself. This ceiling is really something." Cass stated trying to get out of it.
"Cass is right, I haven't noticed til now how great it is!" You added
"I know you both were listening in on that. And I also know that you were both with me and tried to get him to fly as well. Seeing as Feyre is punishing me, it is only fitting I punish the both of you." Your High Lord told you both
"He had two missions, one was surveillance and the other was to find this tree with you. Neither of us wanted the surveillance job so we did rock paper scissors and Cass lost." You told Az after explaining everything
"So that's why he was pouting when we left," he huffed a laugh, "well I'm glad its you with me, you're much better company."
A blush rose to your face and he smirked at you. You didn't know what to say so you just continued on. The shadowsinger led you both through the forest, you closely behind him.
After about 20 minutes of walking, your eyes drifted to the male in front of you. You admired his large wings for a few moments then your eyes drifted lower until they reached his-
"I can feel you staring." he spoke suddenly.
"I was not!" you tried to defend yourself but you were most definitely checking him out.
His back was still to you as he spoke again, "It's ok, I check you out when you're not looking too."
Your face must've looked like a tomato at this point.
"Can we just focus on the mission?" you questioned, trying desperately to change the subject.
"It's your lucky day, I see the tree up ahead." He stated
The two of you finally reached the tree and you realized a lot of the lower branches looked rotten. You would have to get a branch that was higher up.
"Come here, I'm gonna lift you up and you can cut one of the branches." he told you
"What?! Why can't you just fly up there or use magic to get it?" You argued.
"Because if I use my magic or fly above the tree, it might alert enemies and we don't know what lives in this forest." He explained.
"Fine" you said while walking over to him.
Before you could ask how he wanted to do it, he was lifting you as if you weighed nothing. He had grabbed your hips lifting you up until you were sitting on his shoulder. You quickly cut one of the branches and dropped it down.
He spun your body around til you were facing him and slowly slid you down his body. He stopped you when you were face to face, your feet not touching the ground. His hands were under you butt, holding you up.
Your breath hitched when you realized how close you two actually were.
After a few seconds, he continued to slide you down his body until your feet hit the ground. You quickly looked away, ending the moment, both of you getting red at what just happened.
"We should get going, we still have a little ways to go until we get to the cottage." He coughed and told you.
"Cottage?" You thought this was just a quick mission and you already had the branch.
"Rhys doesn't want us traveling at night. We haven't searched these areas yet and we don't want to learn the hard way what comes out in the dark." He told you
The pair of you continued on for another hour towards the cabin in silence. You started to feel eery, as if something was watching you. Az's shadows slowly made their way over to you, swirling around you like a shield.
"Y/N!" Az shouted but you couldn't hear him.
A giant ball of water had swept you up and trapped you inside. You couldn't get out no matter how hard you swam. It was taking you in the opposite direction of the shadowsinger.
The burning in your lungs was too painful. Right as you were about to pass out from the lack of oxygen, you felt a tingle in your chest. It was like there was a little ball of energy inside you and you reached for it.
As you touched it, light exploded all around you, no. The light was coming from... you? The bubble of water you were being held captive in burst and you fell, clawing at your throat for air.
Azriel ran to you on the ground, pulling you into his lap.
"Hey, look at me. Just breath, I've got you." He continued whispering encouraging words into your ear as your breath returned to normal.
You finally looked up at the male holding you and felt relief flood your body at the realization that you were safe in his arms. He put his forehead to yours and closed his eyes.
"You're safe, you're alive." He kept repeating as if he was trying to convince himself.
You opened your eyes and and once again realized how close the two of you were. If you leaned just a little bit closer, your lips might touch.
He opened his eyes after a couple moments and you just sat there, gazing into each other's eyes.
This time, it was his turn to break your stares. He looked around making sure there weren't any other threats.
"Lets hurry and get to that cottage. Will you be okay to walk? I can carry you if you would like." Az offered.
"I can walk, lets get going. I don't want to find out anymore about whatever that thing was." You quickly spoke.
You continued the walk to the cottage, this time with Az very close behind you. He was so close, he would brush against you every few minutes and it was driving you crazy.
After almost kissing him twice, his touch was sending you into overdrive. You slowed down at one point so you wouldn't trip over some roots and he bumped into your back. You could've sworn you heard him groan.
Finally, you made it to the cabin and once you both entered and ensured it was safe inside, Az started to get a fire going.
"You need to take off those clothes, they're soaking wet. I can lay them by the fire so they'll dry." He spoke, breaking the long silence between you two.
"Um I didn't know we would be gone for more than one day so I didn't bring any extra clothes." You confessed, feeling unprepared.
"Here, you can wear my extra shirt I brought. I don't have any extra pants but I think it'll be big enough to cover you." He offered.
With a grateful smile, you grabbed the shirt for him and went to change only to realize this was a very tiny cabin. Meaning there was no other room for you to change in privacy.
"Could you...turn around so I can change?" you asked.
"What? Oh uh yeah sorry." He spoke, his cheeks burning.
He turned around and you peeled the soaking wet clothes from you skin and put his large shirt on. It went down to the middle of your thighs.
"Alright you can look" You spoke.
He turned around and his eyes immediately darkened. They trailed up your body admiring the way his clothes fit you. You couldn't help but notice his eyes linger on your bare legs and you could feel the room get hotter but you knew it wasn't from the fire.
"What happened out there?" You finally spoke, your voice barely a whisper
"I'm not sure but I think it might have something to do with the branch? I think it saved you but we can figure that out when we get back to the Night Court tomorrow. Right now I'm just concerned with making sure you're safe and warm." Az stated firmly
You were still standing on opposite sides of the room, both unsure of what to do next. He hadn't taken his eyes off of you for even a second since turning around.
"Well I'm safe now, but how will you help me warm up?" you asked with a soft smile.
Azriel started to stalk towards you, so slowly. He had a hunger in his eyes and you felt excitement grow in your stomach.
He stopped once he was standing right in front of you, his hand playing with the hem of his shirt you were wearing.
"I had a few ideas." He growled
Before he could fully finish his last word, you leapt forward slotting your lips on his. He lifted you up as you kissed and walked over to the fire. He slowly laid you down on the floor next to it, quickly laying on top of you to continue kissing you.
The pair of you stayed like that for a while, enjoying the feel of the other's lips. Eventually you pulled apart for some much needed air.
"I'm really glad I beat Cass in rock, paper, scissors." you said with a smile before pulling Az back down to you.
Let me know if you want to be added to the taglist :)
