There is more to do, so much that can be done. I don’t want to stop for a second. I think a lot about graphic design, where it is heading, who I am as a designer, who do I want to be? Am I a communicator? Am I more of an artist? I think I know who I would like to be to some degree, I would like to be intersected somewhere between information organisation, meaningful causes, art, music, new media, upholding traditional design, revisiting old ideas, looking back to look forward, and taking influence from everywhere, running with it. I don’t know if I want much to do with say the NY style design trend that has come up in recent times, nor with stretched type etc. I’m not sure I want to delve into that unless there is some clear thinking behind why I would consider that, something practical perhaps. I’m trying to think some of this through. I would love more than anything to work with creative people, as independently as I can, artistically. I think I would like to upload, edit, manipulate imagery, and think as broadly as I can. I have nothing to lose. I have everything to gain, there is so much out there and so much to put out. So much material. I remind myself as often as I can that the small detail here, the interesting sentence I felt like writing down, the screenshot I put in my Inspiration folder — it might not matter just to me, it very well may be of some use and insight to another person.  That is the very beautiful and wonderful thing about the internet, and it is one of the great gifts we have, we have excelled because of it.

So I would like to make sure that I am true to myself in every way that I can, with as much ability as I can muster. I will do my best to be a designer/artist/creator of material that is true to myself, my experiences, inspirations, and not fall into the chasms of trends and self congratulating design. If I do dip into this, I will make sure enough of myself and my ego is in check, that I am dipping into this with enough humour and sensibility, able to pull myself out of that.

I would like to design and create things in a way that is honest, forthright, of integrity, density, depth, in a way that I have understood my client, my own work or ideas, in a way that is reflective of something more than just pretty colours and imagery.

I shall hold myself as accountable as is necessary, to reign myself in. I try and remind myself at times to not be as concerned about what I post, when and what, and to put forward ideas that I have considered to be interesting, meaningful and relevant, of worth. I wonder at times, perhaps its worth putting as much of yourself out as you can, less of the editing bullshit, more process, showing your thinking. How did you get to that point? How did you pull that from that? If its interesting to me, I am sure there may be something of interest to others. I would like to, where possible act in this way. There is only so much of my time in my actual time, that it makes more sense than ever to share of my processes and thinking, design rationale. Onward to putting forward direct, honest and sincere design thinking, processes, responses, observations.
