For National Jenzie-Day🎂🎉I was so lucky to have dinner with my parents and besties @unionsquarecafe. It was my first time dining at this @dhmeyer establishment after hearing many amazing things over the years. My meal began with the Bibb & Red Oak Leaf Lettuces(Gruyere, Dijon Vinaigrette and Sourdough Croutons). Then we shared the Pappardelle for the table (Rabbit Sugo, Pancetta, Parmigiano-Reggiano) and for my main I had the Roasted Sturgeon(Smoked Buttermilk, Hazelnuts, Beets and Sunchokes). That pasta was totes on-point btdubs. At the end of the meal our server sent out a delightful little treat with a candle (just one, so I didn’t set the place ablaze). Tested out the not so quite “new kids on the block” @codinonyc last night! Thought it was a little greedy with their cutesy lil’ sis just just round the corner on Bedford @cotenna_nyc serving up a seemingly identical menu?? All good! Tight concept+great service+gorgeous space=happy @jenzieinthecity. Next time I’m jonesing for carbs I’m coming back for their weeknight $18.00 pasta+wine special. 🍷🍝Codino May have conquered the old @sweetrevengenyc space but they brought a bustling business back to these walls and all the Italian deliciousness with them. Also, there’s elbow room here and who doesn’t like that? Now if only I could manage to sit at a high top table without getting olive oil all over my life, the world would be a better place.
