Lol, I watched some video going into all the fraud and shady shit that a big YouTuber that was being called out and cancelled right now for and I have a hard time taking it seriously, I mean I do believe its right in what it saying against the YouTuber but you can't take someone seriously who uses ableist slurs (r word), seems to think they actually have any actual legit knowledge on nutrition and health just because they are a nutritionists which is not a regulated term in various states, he even says it just means he took a class/course so I find it funny he then things he actually has authority to say he actually knows any actual good and scientific facts & info about nutrition and health and goes on to be fatphobic by saying our society how "normalized high calorie and sugar diets are in America" while having an image from a magazine of very presentable white fat woman in work out gear next to him...
Like sure, I'm going to listen to the guy who might have even less training than the average cop lecture about things he clearly knows nothing about and that the health epidemic in the USA has much more to do with so many other factors than just the simple "oh Americans eat shit, we like to eat shit and promote eating shit." From food deserts to rising costs of food in general paired with low minimum wage and salaries to other factors I can't even think of. Not to mention something a lot of people refuse to admit that has been shown to be scientifically true is that being fat isn't an indicator of health, being fat does not mean you are unhealthy and many other things are at the root of our health problems here in the USA which I would say are more so caused by our poor health care system than anything else. The fact that preventive care here is probably rare or non existent because a lot of people who are poorer (maybe even middle class) don't/can't regularly go to doctors and only go when they have to as a last resort either due to cost or even other factors like trauma gained from the system that refuses to take it patients seriously unless an allo cis hetero white man.
Not to mention a lot of our health care professionals and society in general that has barely or no scientific background/knowledge still loves to scapegoat any and all health woes our society and people have on to fatness and fat people (aka obesity). I mean, the origins of fatphobia are anti-black to begin with also and BMI is nothing more than racist pseudoscience yet people still refuse to move on from these concepts because at the end of the day health isn't what they actually care about but the fun & desire & power they receive from being hateful and bigoted towards fat people.
Long story short I'm glad I watched on newpipe where Im not actually giving the video views and I'm blocking whoever uncritically shared the video, lol. I wasn't even following them, just saw them on my timeline and now I never will anymore!

October is almost over and while I didn't reach all the goals I wanted, this month has been filled with so many blessings so far.
I'm most likely getting a huge promotion at work. I say most likely because even though I met with everyone and my transition has already been approved and we have a date of my transition set, I won't believe it til we have got the salary and benefits official, and I sign the contract. That way if last minute it falls apart I won't be disappointed.
My health issues are slowly getting all figured out, I still have more doctors appointments but with each diagnosis and non diagnosis I feel like I can get control of things .which is going to help me as I'm starting to change my diet up more. I want to lose weight but realistically that can't be my focus right now. Right now I need to focus on how I should be eating for the health issues I do have (thankfully none of them are diabetes or pre diabetes). Then once I get used to that I'll meet up with a nutritionist to come up with a plan.
School is going great. 99% sure I'll have 4.0gpa at end of the semester. I've also registered for next semester classes and looking into professional orgs I can join in the new year.
I'm still doing ballet 3x a week,nutcracker season is going well. I want to get back on point end of year but realistically I won't be surprised if I don't. I can see some areas I can approve on that would make pointe alot easier for me but we will see what our ballet school director thinks when evaluation time comes. Going back to gym this coming week finally. I haven't been in month
Other than that I've been just living life. Found a new church that I absolutely love and hope to make my home church. Ballet season has started and we saw our first of the season over the weekend, had family game night (me and my roommates are found family), went to the movies , got dressed up and had a nice dinner and drinks with friend downtown at this very gorgeous restaurant. Next weekend we are going to the symphony to see a special Halloween themed concert, and then Halloween and that's basically all I have planned for the rest of my month
I'm looking forward to what the rest of this year will bring for me though and already thinking about what things I want to accomplish in 2024 ( one of them being finally getting my license and a car of my own)

okay so wag dues are ~0.1% of the league minimum salary (750,000 USD) ?! drop in the bucket even for someone who doesn't have a secure spot with the team. maybe i'm delulu but guys can't/shouldn't expect girls to drop everything and give up their careers and cook for them and look after them etc. and be upset about having to spend a tiny tiny portion of their salary on their SO's social life?
why are people so upset about wag dues? when the players are in the tax bracket that their in, it seems like a non issue
Not actually a drop when you consider half that salary is instantly gone to federal (~35% regardless of Canada or US), state/provincial taxes (anywhere from 0 to 26%), players escrow (10%), agents (avg. 5%) - escrow and agent fees are take off gross not net too!
On top of that they need to live in the city, and some also have houses back home. So they are paying all the fees, insurance, property taxes, utilities on a home they don’t live in for 8 months a year, plus renting in another city. They have cars, massage, chiro, nutritionists, chefs, trainers
For players like Matthews, McDavid, Barzal etc that have massive contracts, so even though they are losing more in tax/escrow they are still bringing home at least 50% of their salary and likely have endorsements on top. But what about the guys on the 3rd/4th lines? The names a lot of people don’t remember, that maybe go up and down between the AHL/NHL. It’s a drop for the big names, but it’s not for anybody who isn’t.
Obviously there are pros to the wag dues, but there are definite down sides to them. You can’t sit there and think they are the greatest thing ever and the players should be happy to pay them and the wags should be happy because now they have friends.
