The French author, Charles Perrault, a French author, is believed to be the first writer to write a fairy tale, as early as 1695. In the 19th century, the Grimm fairy tales were published and became famous worldwide.

We can never pass up a classic little golden book, with a classic fairytale title. This is my most favourite story, it always makes me smile as the prince travels the world in search of his princess, but comes up with the most humorous and flimsy reasons why each princess won’t do. The illustrations in this golden book are really beautifully drawn in soft pastel colours. It gets my vote in the top ten golden books!
