We have our bracket! This was seeded by number of submissions. Some were given nicknames in the picture for space reasons. Apologies if we entered anything weird, this took a real long time to put together, and we're feeling a bit cross-eyed.

The top left is the top tier, top right is mid tier, bottom left is low tier, and bottom right is the one submission wonders! We'll be starting today with the bottom and working our way up for four days of round one before tackling everything all at once after the numbers are a bit reduced. Maybe two days of round two, depending on energy levels.

this list of luxord's thoughts (and feelings, if we dare to be so bold) of his fellow members of organization xiii is not in a rigid order. generally, i do have those he likes more towards the top (with the four memorialized in the gambler nobodies at the very top, of course) and those he likes least towards the bottom — although there are some complicated situations and this is not a wholly linear list.

larxene - xii - the hanged man : what a remarkable woman, isn't she? while luxord often (and vocally) does not support her constant and open antagonizing of some of the other members and has been known to intervene to at least put a hold on whatever is happening, he's also been known to hang out and bitch with her. he can't help but admire her spark and wit, and he'll say as much. there is a fair share of platonic flirting from him in her direction.

marluxia - xi - justice : similar to larxene, luxord finds marluxia fun to be around. they tend to enable each other when it comes to using words that make others have to think about what they're saying, and they can usually exist on a fairly similar wavelength. that said, they never got to know each other well, with marluxia's time in the organization being so short-lived.

vexen - iv - the emperor : it's difficult for luxord to see eye-to-eye with vexen in some regards, as very basic aspects of their personalities clash... and yet he's fond of vexen and the banter those differences necessitate. he's challenging, and luxord does enjoy a challenge. there is some flirting in vexen's direction, although it isn't as obvious as it could be.

lexaeus - v - the hierophant : these two exist on a similar wavelength, but in the opposite direction of luxord's camaraderie with marluxia; these two can simply exist around each other in a very calm way, with only minimal chatter... and it doesn't get awkward. they simply are.

xigbar - ii - the high priestess : xigbar... is a complicated one. on one hand, xigbar is one of luxord's favorites to be around for a myriad of reasons. on the other hand, he doesn't trust xigbar — which is something partly due to his status as number ii, and partly due to something about him setting luxord on-edge at times. that said, xigbar is the other one luxord will flirt with. such is life.

demyx - ix - the hermit : i hesitate to say that he likes demyx beyond finding him to be amusing at times, but he does defend demyx nonetheless. there is definitely more solidarity once they're the only "new members" of no import left behind once the castle oblivion crew fails to return.

roxas - xiii - death : as he says, he envies the children. that said... his interactions with roxas leave something to be desired. he's a rather dense child, and that's something luxord finds difficult to deal with. his own difficulty engaging aside, he sincerely wants the best for roxas.

xion - xiv - temperance : oh, xion... he never gets to spend much time with her, so most of his feelings (forgetting aside) are like those of roxas. but know that he would like her more than him in the present if they all hung out.

axel - viii - strength : luxord calls axel a grifter till the end, and it's delivered with a fond tone, but it isn't a fond word — and that dichotomy perfectly summarizes his feelings on axel. he finds him fun to be around, and he'll gladly spend casual time with him... but he does not trust axel, and that lack of trust only becomes more apparent when axel is the sole survivor of castle oblivion.

zexion - vi - the lovers : he does not trust zexion, but he also pities him. luxord's smart enough to do the math and knows that zexion was young when this all started, and something about that doesn't settle right. but there's also nothing he can do about it, so all he can do is sit back and mind his distance.

saïx - vii - the chariot : similar to zexion, honestly, but a bit more begrudging. this is particularly ironic due to the plot of khiii, but luxord is unaware of that entire scheme. as it stands in his awareness, saïx is not someone to trust due to his tendency to curry favor of xemnas.

xemnas - i - the magician : xemnas is the biggest question mark to luxord. he lacks the reverence and fear most other members have for the superior, but that does not make them friendly. xemnas is his boss, nothing more — and not a boss he particularly cares for, at that.

xaldin - iii - the empress : something about xaldin... they just do not click, but not in a fun way. xaldin's incredibly divorced energy just does something to luxord that isn't particularly pleasant, and add that to the way that xaldin seems to lean into nobodies not existing as a hard rule in speech like metaphors and wordplay do not exist...

Random Headcannons about Specfic Character's Heartless Stemming from an AU I have Never Posted About!

(This is under the notion that, for some inexplicable reason, a special Heartless is capable of amplifying any darkness found within someone's heart, so that those with even a little bit of darkness would still create a strong Heartless. Also none of them are explicitly darklings because I like myself some symbolic, abstract monster designs.)

Sora (who is here and alive btw) has those eldritch horror tentacles he had in that one section of Xehanort's boss fight sprouting out of his back. I just think they're neat.

Roxas is very nobody-like, surprisingly. It makes sense once you consider the fact that replica bodies can't create nobodies. Xion is in the same boat, their bodies are kinda just layin there.

Aqua is constantly melting and dissolving into puddles on the floor, appearing as a large spot of black-blue. She can also move incredibly fast like this. However, it also seems to cause her Heartless... pain.

Lea is really spiky. And on fire, but that was obvious. One noticeable thing is the tear tracks constantly running down his face, which never seem to stop.

Riku is a large bat-dragon-thing. He also has shackles and broken chains on his ankles and wrists. The chains have been mending themselves, however. Whenever he notices, he attacked them relentlessly until they appear beyond repair. The cycle begins anew afterward.

Terra obviously has some elements of the Guardian in his design, but just making him the Guardian again sounds boring to me so obviously I need to give him more trauma.

Kairi evades becomign a hearless due to her heart having no darkness, but she just can’t get what she did for Sora at the end of KH1 work for any of them, and this just makes her feel even more useless.

Xion is a puppet, literally. Her final boss form from the end of Days gets a darker recolor while being held up by strings connected to one of those wooden-puppet-control-thingies. Roxas doesn't like to look at her.

Riku is technically a Heartless and a Nightmare? None of them are Emblem Heartless but he's got the Nightmare symbol between his wings.

Lea is the second largest of the bunch, and has two chakram-looking things circling him at all times. Xion and Roxas fit neatly under him, and like to hide under there.

Aqua gets as much trauma as Terra because the Wayfinder Trio is my favorite so I put them through pain. Her color scheme is very Anti-Aqua :)

Sora is very fast, and he skitters around like a cat. He is also very spiky.

Ven may not of had his heart dragged out of him by the weird heartless, but he is definitely not having a good time. He didn't even recognize Terra and Aqua.... at first. (I swear I love the Wayfinder Trio with all of my heart)

Roxas resembles a... weasel? Ferret? Something like that; no one can put a finger on it. He also has samurai swords, because yes.

Terra is seemingly made up of rock and soil, and it is primarily held together by the bandages left behind from his Guardian form. He is also the largest out of all of them, a little over half the size of that one really big KH2 Heartless boss in the Pridelands. (I can't remember it's name.)

All of the Seasalt Trio Heartless have their number somewhere on their bodies (XIII, XIV, etc.), the Wayfinder Trio Heartless have thier armor represented in some fashion, and the Destiny Trio all have a paupo fruit inscribed on themselves somewhere.

And Isa (who dodged the entire encounter by not being a keyboard wielder) is just trying to keep Ven and Kairi safe after all of this shit goes down. He doesn't have the time or the energy to get into how he is feeling right now (and boy howdy, is it nothing good). After all, the three of them were...

My brain decided to come up with random KH organisation XIII x Resident Evil Village (REV).

Who gets kidnapped ?

Roxas and Xion that were dared to enter the REV world without their org coat and got transformed into babies.

Who was accompanying them ?

Demyx,who almost died because of Miranda and only managed to crawl through a dark corridor after distracting her with his water clones.

Demyx also dared the two key kids to take off the org coat for five minutes thinking they would just be cold.

Who is the most pissed off ?

Xemnas ,Saix and Axel.

Each for a different reason:

Xemnas is pissed because the key kids are valuable to his plans.

Saix because Demyx f-cked up everything AGAIN and it will be troublesome to get Number XII and Number XIV back (even though he is willing as is Xemnas to leave ‘the puppet’ behind).

Axel is pissed off because his best friends (kids) have been kidnapped and has to be monitored at all times in case he tries to kill the Melodious Nocturne…again.

Thanks to their coat they retain their powers (including Xigbar’s ignorance to what is called ‘gravity’) and weapons who reappears to them if taken too far away from their wielders. All organisation members are sent except Xemnas (obviously) and Demyx who is no longer trusted in REV.

- Axel no longer able to control his anger burns down the survivors’ house after arguing with one of them. He feels a bit bad about the girl and her father but his key kids are more important.

- After learning that Heinsenberg can control metal. Xaldin, Marluxia and Axel are forced to leave due to their weapons being easily taken away by Cowboy Magneto (CW). But some members are not as affected by CW.

Vexen’ s shield can not be taken away when covered in ice even if it’s not thick for some reason.

Larxene’s daggers can be electrified from a distance by her, meaning if Heisenberg tried to take her daggers she could electrocute him without having the need to touch her weapons, Which is bad since his ability is metallic.

Xigbar’s shots are pure magic and therefore can’t be pulled by CW (they can be deviated by his hammer however).

Saix’s claymore and Lexaeus’ tomahawk are somehow not pulled in by Heisenberg.

- While all of them can deal with the mutants such as Lycans, Haulers, Moroaica, Samca, Soldats and Varcolac. Each org member can deal more easily with some specifically.

Larxene has an easier time with the conductible metallic Haulers and Soldats.

Lexaeus has no issue with Lycans.

Saix can easily take a Varcolac thanks to beserker.

Xigbar has a field day with the flying Samcas.

Vexen freezes the Moroaicas before destroying them with his shield that protects him against surprise attacks.

Zexion usually avoids fighting himself using hallucinations to make the mutants kill each other, lure them into a trap or to flee.

Luxord puts every mutants, except Varcolacs who are too big, into cards before tearing them. ( The cards reappear as blank after a few seconds).

Now onto the bosses :

- The vampire triplets Bela, Cassandra and Daniela are destroyed by Vexen due to his ice powers (their weakness).

- Lady Dimitrescu is avoided at first due to her invincibility before she turns into her true form who is taken down by Xigbar who shoots her down even from the sky since gravity doesn’t exist for him.

- Xezion is stuck without his lexicon in the Beneviento house causing him to rely on his intellect to solve the puzzles with the wooden human sized doll being Ansem The Wise (ATW) as Ienzo put a bookmark ATW had given him in the memory mailbox . And getting out of said house panting due to all the running he had to do, he kisses his lexicon once it reappears.

- Lexaeus and Saix inflict physical damage to Moreau while Larxene electrocutes his wet fishy a$$.

- Sturm (propeller head) is electrocuted by Larxene and hit in the back multiple times by Xigbar, Saix and Lexaeus while he is paralyzed.

- Heisenberg is taken down by Larxene who electrocutes his metal behind diverting his attention and paralyzing him. While Xigbar uses the tank to shoot at Heisenberg with Vexen providing Ice walls to protect them.

After the CM fight, Miranda appears with baby Xion giving her to Larxene who immediately shoves Xion in Lexaeus’ arms before they all dip never returning to this world.

Plus:

- Roxas is found in the Dimitrescu castle since Miranda wants the child to be a girl for the ceremony with Roxas being plan B.

- Xion being a ‘puppet’ and therefore not human or linked to the ‘Cadou’ or the other RE viruses she was given back as Miranda didn’t want to take any more risks with Organization XIII.

- Luxord and the Duke got along exceedingly well, playing card games and telling each other riddles.

- They fond out the vampire triplets weakness to ice when Xezion was about to be stabbed and dragged away by them and Vexen threw is ice covered shield at them making them run away without Zexion.

- Saix and Xemnas originally planned to abandon Xion but they knew Roxas and Axel would throw themselves in to save her so they kept going. And also the fact that recreating her would waste more time than getting her back in their point of view.

- As soon as Roxas and Xion were back into the World That Never Was, they turned back into their normal appearance with the clothes they had under their org coat and seemed to have forgotten what transpired while they were babies.

- The Baby Monster in the Beneviento manor will forever plague Zexion’s nightmare even after being recompleted.

- Axel would have cried tears of joy if the upside down tears under his eyes allowed him to.

- Immediately dipped to Twilight Town with his kids to explain what had transpired and get ice cream.

- Demyx was assigned cleaning duty for 3 month after being almost murdered by Axel and Saix ( especially flamesilocks).

Xion Kingdom Hearts!

Ok so her name might not *seem* like a number but it makes sense, trust me. She's number XIV of Organization XIII, a group of Nobodies (people who've lost their [metaphysical] hearts). When someone joins the Organization, they get a new name that is an anagram of their old name and have an X added to that new name for Plot-Related Reasons (which are unimportant for the sake of this explanation being succinct). So that X in Xion's name is from that, And her old name is revealed to be "No. i", as in "imaginary number" because it turns out she's a clone of Sora and she wasn't supposed to exist, oh no!

Sometimes my brain likes to remind me out of the blue that Xion is referred to in the Secret Reports not as No. XIV, which is technically her organization number, but as “No. i.” The letter “i” in mathematics is used to represent irrational numbers, which are numbers that cannot be expressed as the quotient of two integers—i.e., numbers that do not exist.

“Xion” is just the letters from “No. i” rearranged with an “x” added in.

Just…way to rub it in, Nomura. Way to rub it in.

So... my Libertas fanfic where Luxu is Sora instead of Braig... Allow me to just take a moment to breakdown the cascade effect this and several choices I have made have on canon.... The effect of Braig being Braig this time around

1 - Braig not being Luxu has no real reason to help Xehanort, thus making Xehanort's job trying to possess Terra harder. Of course, we don't know if real Braig would have helped Xehanort or not, but in this instance I have chosen that he would not have helped Xehanort possess Terra

2 - This pushes events back slightly, because Xehanort has to take more steps to get to Terra possession. Maybe pushes some things back even further because Luxu!Braig isn't poking Terra-Xehanort's memories

3 - Subject X, whoever she is - though heavily implied through evidence to be Skuld, isn't saved by Braig because of being a Dandelion - Braig doesn't recognise her because he isn't Luxu

4 - Because of events being pushed back - Subject X comes to Radiant Garden before Terra-Xehanort. So... she probably isn't called Subject X, and maybe has some memories. Dependent on how memories work.

5 - Not being saved by Braig - Subject X is there when the Apprentices fall to darkness - effect on fanfic? Subject X is also a founding member of Organisation XIII.

6 - Xigbar potentially doesn't have space as an element. That may have come from being Luxu. Who knows? If it came from Luxu... well... *stares at fanfic Roxas and Xion*

7 - Saix is now Number VIII. Minus the Original Six Nobodies in Org XIII, shift everyone down a number, because Subject X is now Number VII

8 - Roxas and Xion are now XIV and XV and neither of them have chairs in the round room. I have plans for this.

9 - Subject X is included in those "ancient keyblade legacy" reasonings Xemnas gives in KH3

10 - Xigbar is no longer a part of the Real Organisation. Subject X is however.

11 - Saix, Axel and Marluxia have a connection now because of Subject X who is heavily implied to be Skuld. Larxene also does. Who knows if Demyx and Luxord also have a connection there because of "ancient Keyblade legacy" but headcanons shall be my friend. I have given the connection to them. Traitor Trio has grown.

12 - Saix is not antagonistic towards Xion. I have chosen for Saix to join the ice-cream buddy-buddy on the clocktower.

13 - Roxas and Xion's defeats have changed. Now with 100% more angst. I am sorry.

14 - The coup plan at Castle Oblivion is different. More complicated. Still fails. More dramatically too.

15 - The failure of Castle Oblivion leads to Sora being asleep for two years instead of one.

There's probably other things that are included in this cascade effect of Braig not being Luxu. Feel free to ask if you think of something. Breakdowns for cascade effects of other plot points of any of my AUs will appear at some point XD drop an ask for anything in particular

Xion was alive, that was good. She was conscious, that was better. It could have been days or it could have been weeks, Zexion didn’t know, he’d only learnt of the situation a few hours prior to his arrival. It had been Lexaeus the one who’d informed Zexion as he’d returned to his quarters. 

The Schemer hadn’t been furious, of course not. It wasn’t as if he could be. That hadn’t stopped him from finding out why that was happening and where they’d been keeping Number XIV. How anyone had thought torture useful, he couldn’t comprehend it. She had as much heart as any of them, which was to mean none, and she was too valuable, too unique so far. Did they think puppets grew on trees? Because if they did, then they were wrong.

The way to Xion’s location had managed to calm Zexion down somewhat, however, and by the time he approached he was able to be gentle with her. He didn’t know how she’d react and she was already hurt enough, he'd seen no point in being abrasive. 

“You are not fine.” He replied to her words, his voice still gentle. “I’ve come to take you to your quarters. This barbarity ends now.”

He didn’t try to stop her from pulling the hood over her features, he’d already seen her expression, and after a moment of consideration he crouched next to her to put an arm around her back, intending to help her stand up. 

“Lean on me?” He offered. “Carrying you is not a possibility.”
