autism reveal with this but!!! what irritates me so bad is people who argue that "softer" metal genres like nu metal and metalcore straight up ARENT metal. nu-metal exists as a branch of metal inspired by the hip-hop industry and thats beautiful. its become a wonderful gateway into other metal genres, so WHY do people say it just isnt metal? and same with metalcore; it's a branch of metal inspired by hardcore punk, which is also inspired by metal. theres some nu metal and metalcore songs i listen to that make me so baffled how people consider them not to be metal 😭 and if anyone even responds to this dont you dareeeee mention anything about it sounding too, like, studio-y or something. Just because you dont like how it sounds, doesnt mean it cant be included in your favorite genres !!!!! youre allowed to dislike songs from genres you like 😭 i just need an explanation from someone
