so let's rewind to the episode where the slice of life is happening (aka the "yuji bf material" ep ACK)

it was just supposed to be the first years but you were in the area too cuz you had just finished a mission, and yuji REALLLYYYY wanted to watch Earthworm Man 4... so you reluctantly agreed to go with them

so the four of you finished the movie when you recieved a call from your bf

so basically you, maki and nobara are having a girl's day out and some creep tries hitting on ya...yk what's gonna happen.

"What do you guys want?" Maki asked you while you guys were lining up for the crepe shop. "I think... strawberry?" "Ohhh I want a blueberry one!" "Okay, I'll line up. You guys can go sit on a bench and rest." "You and Nobara walk to the bench under the tree, chatting excitedly while Maki told the cashier your order. All of a sudden, Nobara stopped talking and narrowed her eyes as a young man walked over. "He-Hello miss?" He asked timidly after tapping your shoulder. "Uh, yeah?" You give him a confused look. "Do I know you?" "N-No... I just wanted to ask for you nu-number...m-mommy...?" He squeaked, fiddling with his hands. At this point, you were beyond disgusted. "What the actual fuck?" You snap. Overall, this was definitely my favorite episode so far! The team is getting better each and every episode! SOOO much happened here!! I'm super excited to see what happens next!!

Okay, THEORY TIME!!

-Okay so to start lightly, so far, all the episodes we've seen contain:

-On the topic of Christianity, I saw a theory saying that if it's true that the gang developed the game (which may be true because of that computer science line), When Pomni says "I knew it would end up like this... He just wants me to suffer..." she may not be referring to Caine, but her Boss at CnA.

-Okay, Alot of people have been talking about Jax being an NPC, and I wanna bring up my opinion on this:

As I mentioned earlier, he always breaks the 4th wall, witch could be seen as a character in a game being like "What do YOU think?" *Insert Game Options here*

I saw another theory saying that if this is true, Jax might be self aware or sentient to some degree, and This is why he tortures everyone. He knows that this world Revolves around the players and nit him so he wants to make them more miserable.

As one of many Caine angst connisuars on this platform, I really enjoyed this scene...

Caine knows that he only exists to make adventures and if he can't do it well enough than he serves ZERO purpouse and his existence is useless... (he's just like me fr)

This has SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR A SERIES FINALE.

Since in each episode we've (mostly) seen a character being comforted (mostly Either Pomni being comforted OR someone being comforted BY Pomni)

What if the last episode had Caine and Pomni having a heart to heart?

Someone abstracts, (Ragatha or Kinger probably,) and it's Caine's last straw. He finally breaks and the circus goes into ruins. Pomni does her best to comfort him. This could go one of two ways:

Either she sucseeds and happy ending for everyone :D

OR, they fail and The Circus is destroyed, Taking Caine down with it.

Maybe then that would be how they escape cuz if Caine is emotionaly attached to the circus, it would be completely destroyed or erased if Caine finally broke...

The angst potential is crazy...

OH HELLO this is I think one of the first reoccuring anons I've gotten how exciting!!! to be honest I do pretty badly with more broad questions like this but I'll try my best..!!!

with most of my pokemon stuff I don't really change the main story that much unless I have problems with just how it's written on a technical level so alot of the meat of solisverse is contained within the protagonist interpretations and the themes I explore through them.

for hoenn, may hiroshi's themes of aloneness and isolation (themes which are shared with other protags actually) (but hiroshi especially puts emphasis on those specific aspects of protagism) acts as a contrast to the rest of hoenn's duos and pairs and whatnot. specifically those themes of isolation shine through in her hoenn hero status. she saved the world not once but twice (mainstory + delta ep), and now she’s expected to save it again if it ever comes to that. lone titan atlas, burdened with holding the world up by himself. or something like that lol

someone’s actually asked me about galar before! so I wont bother repeating myself. galars general themes are of heroism and villainy, in the storybook fairytale sense and how those concepts get ‘adapted’ into reality so to speak. since galar is late in the solisverse timeline alot of my verse’s weird meta bullshit starts really rearing its head

speaking of weird meta bullshit! paldea! the themes are very broad here, since this is kind of the finale for what I consider ‘act 1’ of solisverse. the themes are: what does it mean to be a protagonist, desire/wishes, and connection. I could honestly go ON about every little intricacy of the themes here but I’ll try to keep it brief for now ^_^;

paldea is a very unique case protag-wise. there are actually two separate protags, juliana goes through the main game and florian goes through the dlc. But. There’s a catch. juliana is… to put it briefly, Not Really Human. and she literally straight up Leaves The Story after the main game. nearly everyones memory of her is altered to be about florian instead. (everyones memories except florians of course) which makes the og paldea friend dynamic… kind of weird!!! nemona arven and penny were all kind of unhealthily dependent on juliana for emotional support (and this wasn’t a problem for juliana because she was inhuman and didn’t have a will of her own) and that doesn’t go away once juliana gets replaced with a much more human florian. I think they do work out the whole dependency thing out and become better and more stable friends, but… I still haven’t written anything for florian telling them that a significant chunk of their memories about her are completely false. so. scratches head. yeah

TVD S6 EP 1-4

Guess who finally started s6? I did and I have thoughts!

Ok firstly I watched s5 months ago and I hated most of it so I don't remember half of the things that happened. Also these are just my initial reactions.

I didn't like the first EP. It was such a bore and I had to make a break for a couple days. But today I picked it up again

And to my surprise I really liked EP2.

Elena's scene with Ric compelling memories away from her were great and I really enjoyed Nina's performance. Also I have to say I noticed her voice sounded different from the previous seasons. It sounds softer now idk how to describe it.

Love Bonnie and Damon's dynamic together

Don't like Kai and he's only been in two episodes. Doubt if I'll like the rest

Enzo! Love that guy. (It's mostly his accent I think but I digress)

I think it's EP2 when him and Care have dinner with Stefan and his gf and afterwards Care cries

She hides her face but Enzo grabs her face and when he sees her tears he goes back in and argues with Stefan... Like put that shit directly in my veins omg!! 😫😫

I think it's also cause Candice has chemistry with everyone but I like her dynamic with Enzo

Also Candice has the cutest crying face. Like, her cheeks do this thing where they're so round and she's just adorable. Anyways lol

Also him knowing Liz back in '94 and complimenting 2yo Caroline and 15 years later hooking up with her and abusing her is sooo nasty omg ughh

Coincidentally this started airing on iQiyi the same week I'm on my VIP trial. Downloading it to watch on my phone during lunch (while outside lol not in the office) but I can only get the regular version, not sultrier.

im watching this on my lunch break outside where it is very sunny + on my phone so im ngl that entire first part was just pretty much a dark screen for me.

Watching Sultrier version: okay Nan's friend Mon did die at the gambling place! I was wondering if we weren't gonna see something happening to Mon that was gonna turn Nan against the gambling place even more.

rewatched pre-credit scene and ohh it’s how tonkla got Title in a vulnerable position to probably kill him

as expected, it seems like the woman who tried to kill herself’s son likely was involved in that gambling pool

lol Fah knew about Korn seeing Tonkla and now wants to put an end to it so that they can get married

what’s even going on with the woman giving away her entire life savings to that guy and premonitions of death

wait, misstress son… so Great is related to the dad but out of wedlock and while he had a different wife?

Also, the treatment of Korn and Great is so different. Korn got slapped by the dad like 2 sentences in, right after he spoke harshly to Great's mom about Great. Great on the other hand is allowed to be rude and confrontational.

We're at 11:03 this episode, the time is back after not really appearing in ep 4. On the other hand, barely any Tonkla, just that cold open. More and more curious when and how Tonkla and Great's stories will converge (in bigger ways than just Title and Dome)

The watching experience of this episode left a lot to be desired since I was fr just watching on my screen, barely able to make anything out in the darker scenes because of the sun. Maybe I should rewatch but don't really feel like it.

3 more weeks before it all (hopefully) makes sense, oh man.

So what’s the timeline, Win found out about Tonkla being a suspect, slept with him again (after finding out he was cheating), then came to catch him? Or is this in a different timeline? Aw man, Nan just died in this timeline and Tyme's has to come to terms with that. I get that Tyme's gonna be grieving and such and he does have a point about Great being able to do something because they wouldn't have shot him but... Tyme knew this was a possibility from the start, right?

Great's mother must die in this version too, right? Or wait actually I guess not because the lady who sent the assassin was actually killed by Great. saved his own mother's life in a round about, killer sort of way actually

Ohh, Tonkla shot Great in the original timeline, the reason he's in the hospital.

Okayyyy interesting episode to get the original ep 1 - 5 events! I wonder what this means for the last two episodes. I think if we were going for a "and nothing was changed, Great dies, Tyme dies" after the changed timeline storyline, then we wouldn't have gotten this episode today. Feels like the next 2 episodes are gonna try to tie original and redo timeline together somehow?

I'm curious and excited, this might've been one of my favourite episodes.

The Great and Tyme dynamic feels so much more grounded and realistic this time around, the way Great wants to hook up while Tyme's like wtf... ?? The rosy original timeline was clearly not quite right. But it again brings into question what even is going on with their romance in the redo timeline because they're not in love here + Tyme kinda hates Great right now, so what's up with such a cutesy romance in their redo thing? I can see it from Great's end but Tyme?

Also Great truly is suchhh a piece of shit. Not even in a bad way. well like bad way obviously because he's a bad person but as a viewer, it's extremely entertaining and compelling.

I think I should rewatch this show on my laptop because there are definitely moments esp last week where I was watching on my phone while outside and it was just too dark to truly see stuff. And maybe I'll notice stuff on a rewatch. Dunno if I should do it this weekend or wait until the week of ep 8 and rewatch in preparation for the finale.

Episode 8: Eddie keeps seeing Kim and hiding it from Buck (and Marisol, but she's an afterthought and the show never shows her onscreen), Buck is maybe suspicious? But i reckon this ep focuses on Bobby, so that's all we get from Eddie

Episode 9: Eddie still sneaking around with Kim, more suspicion from Buck, eddie avoiding buck bc he feels guilty, Medal ceremony, we know Tommy appears bc Lou showed us him in uniform with a medal on in a cameo; we see a Bummy scene where Buck can't stop wondering what's up with Eddie, Tommy dumps Buck? or calls him out for being obsessed with eddie, possibly Eddie's family in town for abuela's birthday this ep or next? (i haven't decided whether marisol dumps eddie in this ep, and maybe that makes him double down on the doppelganger situation?)

Episode 10: bobby in hospital, everything blows up in eddie's face somehow, marisol/kim are both bones, and instead of giving us a marisol blow up they give us a buck one (possibly overheard by eddie's parents?)- coming on the heels of his feelings realization, he's hypersensitive anyway and he's the one who points out that eddie's relationship with shannon wasn't perfect anyway and kim isn't her, and how could eddie do this to christopher??? eddie gets defensive and blows up, says hurtful things he doesn't mean but can't take back, the will comes up in this argument but not in a way that solidifies eddie and buck's connection? leading to Divorce Era 2.0 babyyyy

Season 8: (fully clowning here, i have no idea what'll happen here) Buck dates around, still pissed/upset with Eddie, which is heightened bc he knows how he feels for eddie but now feels eddie will never be on the same page; eddie knows he fucked up but hasn't reached out bc he doesn't feel like he deserves buck's forgiveness? idk it's gonna be messy but eventually they'll get back to each other and eddie will get some damn therapy and realize the family he's desperately trying to recreate never really existed and what he has with buck stands on its own

For me, a Team Horohoro fan, this episode was... truly a lot. I want to know his full story (and despite what Yoh and Ren say, I know that they do, too). He was seriously amazing and guh, just such a fantastic character. I loves the kanji and etymology lesson from Hao, too.

I'm still kinda shocked that Yoh is back in the Shaman Fight as I thought that his being out of the game was a massive divergence that was going to set the series apart, but the way things have worked out is pretty cool!

And the Five Elemental warriors are gonna come from Gandhara, huh? Nice!

The new ending is GORGEOUS. Whoa whoa.

(Also, finally getting some closure for why Yoh has felt so off — poor chilled boy is so stressed.)

BUT BLOODY HELL THIS BATTLE. TBH I really want Team The Ren to win because I do feel that they've got Yoh outclassed... the Ren/Horo lightning/ice combo is just too good. Though wow, Horohoro is MAD.

Episode 45

I'm so close to the end and I'm so sad!

Phew, so we find out which elements the boyos are going to have! I was fully expecting Yoh to have fire, so I was super surprised that it'll be Lyserg instead. Joco with the 'Wind of Change' makes sense, as does Ren with lightning (though I'm surprised that this was an element over metal, tbh, especially since Ren made some comments about Yoh's mastery of metal where Spirit of Sword was concerned) and Horohoro with water. Yoh as the sturdy earth guy is good.

(I'm slightly angsty for Ryu... there wasn't much of an explanation from Sati and Gandhara about precisely why the Elemental Warriors had to be kiddos, apart from the established conversation about adults knowing their ceilings. I assume that there's a bit more detail in the manga.)

This fight against the rest of the world, though? Huh, dramatic! I'm a bit sketchy about the whole laser thing becaaause I thought that was spiritual energy that was fired at the island, but it couldn't have been if the whole world is aware of it? So I have questions!

Everyone chillding in the hot spring is so cute, good gracious.

The tone changes are so odd to keep up with; one second, Redseb and Seyrarm are dying and the next, Kalim is bringing everyone dinner and the guys are taking a break to recover mana when it's been explicitly stated they have 15 hours to save the world! This is so whack to me.

WAIT I nearly missed that there was a ton of stuff after the credits and djhff Horohoro doesn't like his full name?

Oh man, the way Tamiko died was actually harrowing and then she's revealed to be Kororo and Ren's just like. Horohoro is now in dope mode we must ignore him fhfjjlfj

Ren has been taking on most of these fights and his battle against Nichrom was swift, but cool; I loved Joco vs Thalim though — and Thalim himself was adorable!

ALL THE ELEMENTAL SPIRITS VS HAO!

I'm weeping Shaman King is so special the whole thing is just WE WILL DEFEAT THE BADDIE WITH THE POWER OF LOVE.

Episode 52

I definitely cried during the last episode because parts of the ending were so beautiful; everyone coming together to show Hao that he could be saved — that salvation is in accepting your humanity and believing in the humanity of others. And I found Hao's mother's words so freaking soothing... I'm glad that Hao missing his mother was foreshadowed earlier, but we could have had more of that, I think.

And sure, they haven't fixed the world by 2007, but that is OKAY — most of them are around 22 and at that age, I was a wreck! So they have time and their lives to look forward to and... and I guess I disagree with the folks who say that the end of Shaman King is bad because they feel 'everything was pointless'; there's a lot to do and, even with guardian ghosts, shamans can't do everything alone.

I think this is an anime I could definitely rewatch, at some point. Wow. I love these characters and, as much as I griped about this, that and the other, I loved this story.

And I think it's so interesting that Yoh just. Didn't end up as the Shaman King djbdfh that;s definitely not what I was expecting!

Haha, I definitely sat up and took notice at the lighting in the preview. It's time for the club/dancing scene! I'm honestly not sure what it'll be... I really hadn't expected Duela/Turner to happen this quickly, so I wonder if Sharper is up next. It's hard to interpret those few frames from the trailer as anything other than the start of something more explicitly romantic, but the timing of it is the question, both in terms of the individual ep as well as the whole season.

If the club scene is early on, as the preview made it seem, I just don't see how it'll be, what, a confession? A kiss? Because then what's the rest of the ep for? Certainly not them being just happy off together, right, even though we didn't see any of them in the rest of the preview. Most TV eps are structured so that you have the first parts of it setting up the plot and asking questions that the last scenes then resolve and answer and you get your fade to black. Like with Duela and Turner in ep 10, though, you know, I would have expected a scene with Carrie and Turner to cap off their earlier fight. If not an apology, then at least a thank you for saving his life and risking major damage to her relationship with her mom. Maybe the next ep...or not, if it's gonna be multi-ep, it may take a while for Turner to soften.

Speaking of apologies, Stephanie has been pretty forgiving of Harper's sniping but it's clearly hitting harder now that they've actually been getting along. How are they gonna get from that to where they're dancing? Maybe Harper's nicer and Stephanie takes advantage, or she might just ignore Harper's attitude and pull her into a dance? So many possibilities! Oh, I wonder if Harper finds out that Stephanie turned down Turner?? But anyway, I do think Harper should apologize to Stephanie at some point. Not just because she doesn't know what Stephanie's actually going through at home, but because even if Stephanie's life was perfect, she just doesn't deserve being treated like that. Ah, though, given we saw just how bad the situation is with Stephanie's parents, that has to come up again and I wonder if this time the rest will find out and Harper will realize how wrong she's been.

But to go back to the dance, if it is romantical, I feel like either it'll get interrupted or something else will come up during the ep, hopefully to be resolved by the end. If it does explicitly go romantic this ep, I wonder what that leaves for the last two eps. There's so much other plot to deal with, including Stephanie having to deal with Brody...dying? Being resurrected? Being resurrected as the Talon? And I'm really hoping the group's able to clear their names by the end of this season, but I fear the current vigilantes-wanted-for-murder angle is too good for the writers to give up so quickly.

It'd be pretty funny, lol, if after all this the dance ends up being mostly fun and playful from Stephanie's side while Harper is internally panicking like crazy and then we have to wait for more.

Thoughts on Episode 124 (S6 E11)

Reeling reveals, devilish dancing, and brutal broadcasts. Let’s talk about it

HUGE spoilers for the episode but nothing for the manga. That said, it is wild that the contents of this episode are no longer considered a spoiler

Oh boy these Dabis sure do be dancing

I am going absolutely feral this episode was so good!

However I will do my best to stay composed

I gotta start with a nitpick just to get it off my chest. Way back in episode 1 of this season, they added a frame when Twice talks about the League that showed Dabi sitting in a chair. Many people (myself included) assumed this was a reference to his video, but the chairs were different colours (ep 1 it was blue, now it is red)?! WHAT?! WHY?! I know it’s random but it just bugs me. This season has been really good with keeping little details straight and then they do something like this. Given the fact that Dabi was wearing clothes in that scene, it is now my hc that he filmed multiple versions of this and picked the one that felt the most dramatic (must have decided that shirtless with a red chair was the way to go lol)

And I need to reiterate: that is absolutely a nitpick that in no way takes away from the rest of the episode. I just found it odd that they went through the trouble of adding such a scene to episode 1, but didn't keep it consistent

Ok anyways as for the episode itself

Brain happy

The first, Dabi-less half is honestly wonderful, which surprised me that they put so much effort into it

Ochako and Toga both looked gorgeous, and the tension between the two was done lovely

Then the episode switched to Endeavor and like one insanely smooth shot and this episode went from a 10 to a 10 billion

However, I’ll admit it, I kind of didn’t like the rearrangement regarding the broadcast. I loved how the manga had a little hint in the Toga section of tvs losing their signal, then the chapter starts with Rei, goes to the battlefield, and then cuts back to the broadcast

The bit with Toga made it all feel connected, like it’s happening at the same time, but it’s fine that it’s gone

I’m more disappointed by the rearrangement with Rei. It gave it a bit of build up that the anime adaptation now lacks, and honestly I was a bit taken aback by how sudden the moment popped up

I mean I guess props for showing how Endeavor must have felt lol

Upon a rewatch it doesn’t bother me nearly as much, but still. It’s probably just because I’m so used to the manga at this point

That being said, the second the monologue started all my complaints totally melted away

The voice acting! The animation! The DANCING! They really made him clap and spin around and I LOVE IT

Im curious to see how they handle the soccer flashback when we eventually get there (mostly regarding hair colour lol. I want to know if they are going to give an explanation why it was red, or if they’d gonna colour it white and pretend they didn’t mess up haha)

I don’t know how I felt about Best Jeanist starting and ending it. I knew it was coming because I read the manga and had a feeling they’d sandwich the episode like this, but it almost felt like it was taking away from Dabi’s big moment

Which ha! I guess he technically was!

Still, it reminds me of the upcoming arc, which I am reluctant to think about

I don’t know what else they could have done, I just wanted Dabi to have a moment I guess (and I also wanted to forget how many cliffhangers the upcoming arc has lol)

Ooooohhhh and the ed hurt. I had a feeling they’d do a young and old Touya thing, but MAN did they do it well. Everything about it. The bright yellows to the cold blues, the big smile to the scream, oh my gosh

Anyways, overall 10/10. If you think this review sounds nitpicky it’s because there’s only so many ways I can express my absolute joy, yet it takes time to explain my grievances (however slight they may be)

I’m away for family stuff this week but you can bet that if I weren’t I would be watching this episode on constant repeat

Lestat was wrong for crashing the funeral but I’m glad he broke that Finn guy’s arm lol fuck that guy (he helped burn down the Azalea in ep 3).

“She just gotta put it somewhere, don’t let it inside” Oh Grace, Louis definitely let that inside and probably more 😕.

Also worth noting that offering to walk Florence home was Louis’ attempt to reach out to her but she rejected it and basically claims Levi as her new son right then and there. That old anger is coming back strong as fuck lol fuck her.

“And lord I dragged my family into this mess with me” oop just as I said earlier, Louis feels like he damns those he loves 😭.

I have no idea what Father Mathias was gonna say to that banger monologue but Lestat got to him before he had a chance lol rip. I wonder why Paul requested confessional from Father Mathias in particular? Was it because he knew them as kids? Did he give good advice? He seemed nice enough I think he might’ve given Louis some kind of consolation.

Louis’ soaking wet look in the church might be his best human look not gonna lie 💕. It’s giving gothic romance heroine who stumbles upon a creepy castle in the woods, in the rain, at night and passes out in front of the main entrance seconds later before being brought in by the creepy staff lol.

“All these hats you wear and none of them your true nature” your true nature is Lestat’s significantly younger house wife 🥺 lol.

There was a post going around a week or so ago that asked whether people thought Lestat would have left Louis alone if he said no to Lestat in the church that night and I’m definitely still of the opinion that it’s a no. Maybe when I first watched this episode when it first came out and long before ep 5 aired I might’ve said “yeah he probably would’ve left” but rewatching this episode and knowing what’s going to happen later on makes me say no out right now lol.

I also maintain that Louis’ consent when he says yes to Lestat is “dubious” at best. It’s definitely not informed consent at least, Louis doesn’t know what the “dark gift” is or what it entails, we see in the next episode he nearly gets himself killed when he tries to walk home in the sun, and I think it’s safe to say whatever else Lestat says to Louis during his “proposal”, it wasn’t a point by point explanation of what vampirism is lol. He’s also drunk (there’s no way he sobered up that fast from the brothel and he looked pretty damn drunk then), and grieving, and isolated, and at the lowest point he has ever been in his life (so far).

We can argue that not everything Lestat does is calculated and that in many ways he’s pretty impulsive, but let’s be honest here, Louis ghosted him for a few weeks at most? He didn’t even wait for Paul to be in the ground (or cement since this is New Orleans) before accosting Louis, and he wasn’t about to lose the best opportunity he has to get Louis as his companion. So yeah that’s at minimum “taking advantage”.

And for the record I like Loustat and Lestat (I’d think my blog would already be a good indicator of that but who knows) but I saw someone once said Louis chose vampirism unlike Lestat and I was like mmmmmm??? I don’t know about that chief. Don’t get me wrong, obviously Lestat’s “birth” was way worse (if we’re playing the trauma Olympics here lol), but I think especially keeping in mind what happens in the rest of the season, Louis’ turning is basically an illusion of consent that he’s giving to something he doesn’t even fully understand at this point, to a guy he’s known for maybe 2 months at most.

Obviously a great start to a cringe fail marriage 💕

Anyways episode 1 is still amazing, second only to episode 7 in my mind (might change after watching the whole show but who knows). I don’t know why I thought seeing gifs on here every day would make rewatching the show feel less necessary, because the gifs are not a substitute for the real deal 😍.

So I decided to order this playlist with songs that describe Ed and Stede’s relationship in chronological order, complete with lyric examples and screencaps of the show to back up my song choices lmao

1. Everything Has Changed

Pretty self explanatory: the beginning of Ed and Stede’s relationship! Everything has changed now that they’ve met. In my brain I've connected “all I know is a simple name” to Ed introducing himself to Stede as his actual name rather than the elaborate Blackbeard persona, and so everything has indeed changed for Ed, because for once, someone is knowing the real him.

2. Enchanted

“This night is sparkling, don't you let it go I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you”

Also pretty self explanatory lol, I just imagine this is what they (or maybe specifically Ed) is feeling after they’ve met and realizing that whoa i kinda really like this man. it’s just cute and sappy and i feel like it fits this scene so well

3. Untouchable

“In the middle of the night, when I'm in this dream It's like a million little stars spelling out your name You gotta come on, come on Say that we'll be together Come on, come on Little taste of heaven”

Honestly I imagine this as the Moonlight Scene, since it’s this moment where their mutual love for each other is sort of coming to the surface a little bit, but they still can’t really act on it. Stede is a “distant diamond sky” that Ed can’t yet reach, which we see in the scene where they step close together, and Ed leans in for a kiss, but he doesn't act on it and they leave.

4. Sparks Fly

“I'm on my guard for the rest of the world But with you I know it's no good”

Ed feeling conflicted about his identity as “Blackbeard” and feeling like he can only truly be himself with Stede. I imagine this as the montage scene in ep 6 where Ed is just having a jolly good time while Izzy is like “what the fuck happened to Blackbeard.” It’s just another cute sappy song about them pining and being in love!!!!!

5. Delicate

“This ain't for the best My reputation's never been worse, so You must like me for me”

“Sometimes I wonder; when you sleep Are you ever dreaming of me? Sometimes when I look into your eyes I pretend you're mine, all the damn time”

“My reputation’s never been worse” is 100% Ed’s feelings about who he was as Blackbeard, and the things he’s done that he’s scared and ashamed to tell Stede about. Even despite having the plans to kill him, Stede is like “oh……..well let’s just pretend you didn’t want to and we can go back to being friends :)” so like, this song is basically for the version of Ed that is having a breakdown in the bathtub going blankey mode with Stede’s robe.

6. peace

“The devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?”

I like to imagine this as the scene where Ed leaves with Calico Jack because he realizes the kind of person he is and feels like he isn’t worthy to be around Stede. “You were always gonna realize what I am” is literally him saying “I could never give you peace” like HNGHGHH.

7. Message In A Bottle

“But now You're so far away and I'm down Feelin' like a face in the crowd I'm reachin' for you, terrified”

Okay this one is a little sillier but I felt like it needed to be added to the playlist because messages in bottles are like!!! A way to send messages with the ocean!!!! And like they’re pirates!!! On the ocean!!! It just fits!!!! But I also imagine this as Stede spying on Ed and Calico Jack with the spyglass and being like :( “i want him back”

8. gold rush

How could I not add gold rush to the playlist??? “Eyes like sinking ships on waters so inviting I almost jump in” ?!?!??!!!!! LIKE HELLO that is so perfect the ship metaphors are killing me. I could also say something about the lyrics “falling feels like flying til the bone crush” is about Ed’s feelings for Stede coming crashing down after Stede leaves him but we haven’t gotten there yet so sdjfhk

Because Cruel Summer is one of my favorite songs I had to include it, but I also feel like it works because they have these feelings for each other but they have yet to really say it to each other, and “no rules in breakable heaven” is them being out at sea, international waters having no rules, and being in heaven is them in love. Also “what doesn’t kill me makes me want you more” I like to think of that very literally as Stede almost dying but Ed stepping in and saving him because he loves him so much lol

10. You Are In Love

PRETTY SELF EXPLANATORY. This is when they figure out that they love each other!!!!!! They admit their feelings and they kiss and everything is sweet and perfect (for the time being) and I want to sob because they really are in love, true love!!!!!

Ed has been in his Blackbeard persona for so long, surrounded by darkness and death and murder, that now that he’s finally with Stede, he’s finally known happiness in a way that he hasn’t before and he literally only sees daylight as they look out into the ocean!!!!!

Also pretty self explanatory lmao, this is Ed asking Stede to run away with him. They are in love and they need to skip town!!!!!! “Like you’d run from the law” is pretty literal in their case because they would straight up be breaking the law sdjfhskfj

HAHAHA H A this is where it gets sad folks. A lot of these are pretty self explanatory so I don’t know why I’m doing this but this is literally just Ed being left alone on that dock waiting for Stede to arrive but he never does rip. I know the rest of the song doesn’t fit that well but like come on I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to use this song based on just the chorus alone lmao

14. coney island

I imagine this song as the separation happening from both perspectives!!! Like Ed is the first part, wondering where Stede went as he waits by the docks for them to leave, and Stede is reflecting on this realizing that he decided to go back to his family rather than leave with Ed.

15. All You Had To Do Was Stay

“Hey, all you had to do was stay Had me in the palm of your hand Then why'd you have to go and lock me out when I let you in?”

This one’s kinda silly lmao, I imagine this is what Ed is thinking as he rows away like “man why couldn’t you have just stayed” because he’s sad and he wanted so badly to run away with Stede. Poor little meow meow’s got his heart broken now sjkdhfkj

16. Death By A Thousand Cuts

Stede leaving was death by a thousand cuts, because the morning comes and Stede isn’t there anymore!!!!!!!

This song I think is more from Stede’s perspective, because I feel like a lot of the songs so far are from Ed’s perspective. I think this is Stede sort of thinking over his decision and really regretting it once he’s realized that he really was in love with Ed and he wants to go back. This wasn’t easy for him at all but he needed to go back to his family to get closure.

18. You All Over Me

Basically Ed realizing that Stede is gone and there’s nothing he can do about it, and no matter what he does he’s going to have a part of Stede scarring his heart. Even writing lyrics or putting on a talent show isn’t going to wipe away the memory of Stede, and that kills Ed.

19. hoax

This song fucking kills me in the best way possible. I like to think of this as the ummm…….the RIP Lucius and Red Silk scene sjdfkhs. Ed has gotten to this point of complete melancholy about Stede leaving that he can’t handle being in this wallowy state anymore, he has to shield himself by reverting back to his “Kraken” persona, and so he lets go of the silk and…..fucking murders Lucius the best boy lmaooo

20. I Did Something Bad

“They say I did something bad Then why's it feel so good?”

I don’t think this song fits that perfectly but I just think it’s hilarious to think of this as Ed’s transformation into the Kraken, complete with pushing Lucius off the boat and cutting off Izzy’s toe and forcing him to eat it and throwing all of Stede’s books in the ocean and leaving the rest of the crew on an island. Yeah, he’s doing something bad alright lmaoo (the debatable part is whether this is something that actually “feels good” to him, because he’s def in a lot of pain and just using this to shield his own emotions, but I just think this song is funny as a background to all of this lol)

21. All Too Well

We all know what this is about I don’t even have to explain myself.

22. Afterglow

Stede realizing his mistake and wanting to go back!!! He’s had his conversation with Mary and realized that he truly is in love with Ed. He doesn’t want to lose Ed and so he wants to “meet him in the afterglow” aka go back to the revenge and apologize and tell him how he feels. 

23. This Love

THIS LOVE IS SUCH A PERFECT SONG I COULDN'T CHOOSE JUST ONE LYRIC TO SHOW HOW IT FITS SO WELL. SO MANY WATER AND SHIP METAPHORS HOW COULD IT NOT BE THE BOOKEND TO THIS PLAYLIST. “High tide came and brought you in” is Ed and Stede meeting and “skies grew darker, currents swept you out again” is Stede leaving and Ed being heartbroken over it. “In losing grip on sinking ships you showed up just in time” is Ed trashing the revenge to scrub every bit of Stede from it as a desperate attempt to spare his feelings of heartbreak, and Stede arriving at the last minute to save the abandoned crew off the island.

Like literally, “this love is good” is all the fun they had “this love is bad” is the break up, and “these hands had to let it go free and this love came back to me” is Stede needing to go back to his family to understand just how important Ed is to him and coming back a changed person!!!! Like holy moly this song was made for blackbonnet I swear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i’m ready for being emotionally destroyed for the rest of the day

today is a sad day xD

can i just preface this by saying that i’m lowkey in love with the cinematography and the color grading in this show? it’s so warm and mature (?) idk how to describe it but it makes me want to visit Thailand and makes me nostalgic at the same time

the whole goodbye was so sad. but also perfect. but also we got a confirmation about their age. and 15?!??!? are you kidding me?!!?!?!

the kiss on the cheek made me gasp. cause i know eiw took the last chance he had. and cake was surprised but didn’t flinch or changed his facial expression. continued like before. but that was such an important moment for eiw. to be able to do that took a lot of courage. and he was able to do that precisely because he knew cake is leaving.

cake coming back for the last hug was beautiful.

i love how eiws pillows make half of his face disappear when he layers on them. lol i want my pillows to do the same

i’m sorry but is the piano song playing in the background a fucking church song? like i knwo the melody but can’t remember the lyrics now but it’s 100% a church song. i think a christmas one but like …. wait yep lol. it’s a polish christmas song ‘Lulajże Jezuniu’ just slowed down. god that’s funny. probably someone wrote a similar melody but it’s still funny to me that while eiw is going down the stairs on a day without cake a f christmas carol is playing in the background lol

going through the same things you did one e with your best friend, especially one that’s been with you your whole life is extremely challenging. eiw will have to work on it.

prem as a big brother is perfect. the advice he goves is also really good. take care of yourself and become a better person than when cake was here. show him he doesn’t have to worry about you being here without him.

yay e-mails work. but you can see that it’s still not enough. while mails help it’s still jarring. but eiw has good friends around that will help him get to where he needs and wants to be.

and the realization settles in. that cake was his everything and now he has nothing. and need to fill the space with something else. eiw got used to being in the spotlight with cake. and now has to learn how to live outside of it. honestly i feel like it will be good for them to be apart. they will learn to live for themselves.

also fee has a point. you can’t be visible everywhere, you have to put yourself in uncomfortable situations and adjust yourself. and learn how to deal with them if you want to grow as a person

ah and now eiw gets out of his shell. i wonder if cake will be jealous that eiw is changeons without him there to see and encourage him to. that he’s doing all the things cake wanted him to do and cake is not there.

okay so from the preview. 3 years have passed. they finished high school. now will go to uni. cake will be back. eiw changed quite a bit. there’s gonna be a lot of jealousy from cake as he only heard about the new life eiw has and his new friends (aka the Phi that seems to like eiw). cake looks really good in blonde.

can’t wait for the reunion. and i’m so glad we got a confirmation that it was happening in modern past. cause i was confused as hell first few eps xD

Part 1

Sesshomaru, Rin, Setsuna, Jaken, Moroha, Takechiyo, Hisui, Kohaku

Kyaaaaah! I love David so much! He done a great job with Sesshomaru! As did the rest of the cast for their characters. I love and admire this scene of how fast Sesshomaru is flying to save his wife's life, he isn't wasting no time, he is speed flying! Lol, Jaken struggling as he's hanging onto his Mokomoko is really funny to me.

Ouch... the way Rin weakly mentions Towa and Setsuna's names.... (ノ﹏ヽ) I'll cry all night, I never heard Rin speak in such a weaken voice before.

Jaken assuming Sesshomaru was flying fast to grant Rin's dying wish... Nooooo! Omgoshy don't! Why would you even say or think that Jaken?! (つ﹏<。)

It looks like Sesshomaru was having some trouble finding his daughters, it may had been the fact that Towa and Setsuna were in their human forms for a whole night or the fact they used that hand cream all night. Lol, poor guy. Well, the ogres did Sesshomaru a favor by talking about their plot, he overheard them and changed direction without even hesitating.

Yet again, Jaken has spilled the tea on Sesshomaru's actions... aww! He wasn't giving up on his wife Rin, he never wants to lose her, she is his everything. And now thanks to the official interview, we found Rin is Sesshomaru's heart. 💜 She is apart of him and his reasoning for living, it's just so beautiful! If he had of lost Rin forever from the silver scale curse or anything, it would probably straight up kill Sesshomaru, literally. That's like, pretty much saying he would die without her existence.( ˃̣̣̥ω˂̣̣̥ ) This man is in love! Rin is his soulmate.

Lots of Antis were so angry that Sesshomaru didn't do what Rin wanted him to do, they made up such ridiculous stuff about him having her imprisoned in the tree of ages... No, they just wanted her to die, they said many times while trashing Rin as a character. They just ticked off their theory didn't come true about if Rin dies, Kagura will be living through her from now on.

(I hate Kagura now thanks to them...hopefully it's temporary since I do in fact ship her with Adult Kohaku, I find them being a good positive ship, so it should be temporary since I'm still hyped about drawing them together one day. Anyway, I use to only like her as a character, I felt bad for her because all she truly wanted was freedom, she got it but in the most sad and tragic way. But then Antis with their horrible obsession with SessKagu had to destroy her character for me... They've put me and great fans and artists through a lot heck. (SessKagu in my opinion is one of the most Toxic ships ever... I had to block all of it's tags, especially blocked Kagura's too. And I'll be honest, I don't see Sesshomaru and Rin being with other people. I'm completely against seeing them with other characters as a ship but I never go harassing people, I just simply ignore it, block or mute because I find blocking some people or accounts is too harsh, especially if they aren't an Anti. I just prefer blocking Antis to keep them away me and so I can't see their posts anywhere. Plus, it's discouraging for my inspiration to see them with someone else other than each other, I've met a few artists and fans who feel the same way, so it's always best to feed your inspiration and not the stuff that discourage it.) So yes, Antis got mad at Sesshomaru for this, it was ridiculous. He didn't want his wife to die and also Rin didn't want to die either, she cried when Sesshomaru had to cut the dream butterfly to help Setsuna out with mastering her weapon. She knew what was gonna happen once that was done... The silver scales would start to cover her whole body until she rot away. Sesshomaru is and will always be a wonderful husband. ♡️

Aww, Moroha is just too gosh darn cute! And she even sounds concerned of her Aunt Rin, it's very sweet, she loves her family so much.

Lol, Kohaku is a Sesshomaru fanboy. He was probably cheering on the inside to see Sesshomaru after all these years, you can actually hear the excitement in his voice and he wanted to fight beside him, it's cute!

Sesshomaru is not showing favoritism in Setsuna by going to her first, this was a bad misinterpretation. He loves both his baby girls very much and probably wants these hardships to end as soon as possible so he and Rin can finally be with them. I'm sure he's curious of how to be a father to them and still needs his beloved's guidance and influences to help him understand it. The concern in his voice and the way he closed his eyes, worrying about Towa... really makes my heart melt on how caring he is, he has came a long way, I'm very proud of him. ♡(.◜ω◝.)♡ He's a great father in his own way. I always love how softly he speaks to his daughters, he's gentle and patient, it's beautiful. He truly knew Setsuna is the only key to calm Towa. And wow, I could hear the tension in his voice when he was taking out the ogres, he's definitely under a lot pressure with all the situations going on.

A sharp burst of pain brings Eddie out of his doze.

It’s been hard to sleep now he’s home from the hopistal. The house is quiet, especially with Chris spending the night with his cousins. Adriana and Sophia are still in town, courtesy of his shooting, but he’s grateful to have the break from parenting. It feels like a shitty thing to think, but he’s still struggling to remember he’s alive, that he didn’t die on tarmac and bleed out.

Fuck. Letting out a shaky breath, Eddie fumbles for his phone. He shoves down the guilt at being so needy, at wanting. Buck’s promise rings in his head.

“Call me, okay? Any time, for any reason. I wanna make sure you’re doing okay.”

Eddie’s still so far from okay he doesn’t know what to do with it.

Dialling Buck’s number one-handed, Eddie sits on the edge of the bed, arm still curved in the stupid sling to protect his shoulder from further harm. Eddie can’t decide if he wants to laugh or cry; shot twice in the same place, what are the fucking odds? Now he’s got months of PT and a wonderful diagnosis of maybe full range of motion.

“Hey.” Buck’s voice sounds gravelly and again, Eddie’s angry at himself for needing this. “What do you need?”

Eddie stares down at his bare feet. He lets out a soft noise.

There’s rustling. “Eddie? It’s okay.”

“It’s not,” Eddie grits out. “My fucking shoulder hurts, I just wanna sleep, and you went home.”

The last slips out before he can stop it.

“I thought it was best,” Buck says quietly. Eddie can hear shifting in the background. “You’re injured-”

“My shoulder,” Eddie points out. He breathes out and with it goes the anger. “I know I wasn’t in the best place after the shooting, but I just wanted you.”

The memories right after he hit the tarmac drifted like smoke. He can never quite catch them, a hazy recollection, but he knows he upset a lot of people. His family, for obvious reasons. Ana, when he woke up and she was there instead of Buck. His team, his son, Buck. Buck, who held his shoulder together and kept his heart pumping, who kept Eddie on the edge of consciousness and begged, pleaded, threatened him to stay alive.

Eddie does remember seeing Buck for the first time in the hospital; sobbing into the curve of his shoulder, in pain and scared, while Buck whispered promises into his hair.

Since then, it’s like exhaustion seems to have settled on him since. He’s tired of pretending, tired of saying I’m fine when he’s anything but. He’s just tired.

“I’m on my way.” The sound of keys and a door closing. “I’m sorry.”

Eddie shakes his head, even though Buck can’t see. “No, I am. I’ve been in a shitty mood.”

Buck doesn’t answer for a moment; there’s the sound of his truck door, some scrapes and fumbling as he’s put into the phone holder, then the truck starting up. “You’re entitled to a dark mood, Eddie. You almost died.”

Eddie closes his eyes as Buck’s breath hitches on the last word. “Doesn’t mean you deserve to have me yelling at you. I don’t like,” he fumbles for what to say, needs to admit to the feelings running through his head. “I don’t like feeling this scared.”

“Eddie,” Buck says, sounding wrecked.

“I thought I was gonna die,” Eddie admits. It’s easier that Buck’s not here, easier to say it to the opposite wall than Buck’s face. “I accepted that I would.”

Another breath hitch.

“I thought I was gonna die,” Eddie says, voice catching, a sob sliding out before he can stop it.

There’s silence. A silence Buck can’t break, that Eddie doesn’t want to. It’s nice to hear the steady in and out of Buck’s breathing, the stick shift, the sounds of the truck. Eddie doesn’t even realise they’ve stopped until the sound of the key in the door.

Hanging up the phone, Eddie drops it on the bed and stands, groaning as pain shoots down his shoulder.

“Eddie?”

“I’m here,” Eddie says, walking out into the living room. Buck’s in the hall, untying his shoes and dropping a bag on the floor beside them. He looks half-asleep, hair tousled and clothes rumpled. Eddie doesn’t feel guilty for it, can’t when Buck straightens up and looks at him with such care and concern. “You’re here.”

“Of course I came,” Buck says. It’s a given; that Eddie calls and he comes. That whatever Eddie needs, he’ll try and give.

Another sob tears its way out of Eddie’s throat and he hates himself for it, how many times is he gonna cry on his best friend, before he’s wrapped up in Buck’s arms.

“It’s gonna be alright,” Buck says quietly, cheek against the top of Eddie’s head. He’s careful not to press too tight, mindful of Eddie’s injuries. It’s more than Eddie can take; he lets it all all go, cries into Buck’s neck. “Ssh, it’s alright. Let it out, Eds, I’ve got you.”

Eventually, he cries himself out. He’s shaking, whether from emotion or tiredness he can’t tell. “I’m so fucking tired.”

“Come on,” Buck says, kissing the top of Eddie’s head. “Let’s get you comfortable.”

Eddie reluctantly pulls away from Buck. He pauses, looks up into Buck’s face. There’s not much different in height, and Buck kisses his forehead. It’s soft, careful, and Eddie rests a hand on Buck’s hip. “I accepted that I was gonna die.”

“Eddie,” Buck starts, looking vaguely sick.

“But I never accepted that I was leaving you.” Eddie looks at Buck’s shoulder, can’t bring himself to look up. “I couldn’t. I could never,” he sucks in a breath, fights the urge to shut up and let it go. “I came back to you. To Chris, and you.”

Buck’s eyes are wide, shiny and wet, and he swallows. Again, Buck slides his hand around Eddie, cradles him close. “God, Eddie,” his voice sounds hoarse. “I don’t know what I’d do if, if you didn’t.”

Eddie doesn’t either. “I love you, Buck. I swear I,” he sucks in another breath, closes his eyes and rests his forehead on Buck’s shoulder. “I love you.”

“I love you too,” Buck says, without hesitation. He kisses Eddie’s temple, his head. “I love you.”

Eddie feels off kilter and yet stable for the first time in months.

Eventually, Buck pulls away again, hands on Eddie’s face, thumbs brushing away the tears that are left. “Let’s get you to bed. See if you can sleep.”

Eddie follows him down the hall, cradling his arm carefully. His chest aches from crying, and it’s definitely not helping his recovery, but it feels better now that he’s done it, now that the words have been said and the world’s still turning. Perhaps there should be more elation, more relief, but Eddie’s still tired, still hurting.

The kitchen floor is cold on Eddie’s bare feet, but he takes the glass of water Buck gives him, then pads after him into the bedroom. “S’not comfortable.”

“I know,” Buck says. He starts to rearrange the pillows and blankets on the bed while Eddie gingerly perches on the edge, grunting. He drifts a little, eyes closed and breathing out slowly through his nose as the flare of pain resides. “There.”

Eddie stands carefully, turns to look. The bed is padded on one side with pillows, the blankets pulled back. It looks inviting, though Eddie’s not sure how it’s supposed to help.

“This way,” Buck says, hand on Eddie’s hip. He helps Eddie clamber onto the bed without jostling his shoulder too much and Eddie looks at the pillows, the stretch of mattress before him. The idea of lying down fills him with dread, and a lingering phantom pain. Buck sits behind him, then moves Eddie gently, shifting them both until they’re stretched out on the bed. Eddie’s flush to Buck’s front, an arm between him and the pillows, careful against his injury. “Better?”

“Yes,” Eddie hisses out, relieved. He turns a little, back to the pillows, and his arm between them. “Fuck, that’s better.”

Buck laughs gently, brushes another kiss to Eddie’s forehead before looking him in the eye. “Good.”

Eddie stares at him, lifts his free hand to brush a thumb against Buck’s bottom lip. “I do love you.”

“I know,” Buck says, face lighting up. He looks happy, comfortable, and Eddie feels something in his chest loosen. Has he really been so unhappy? Ignoring his own feelings for so long, when Buck’s been right here? “Don’t think it.”

“I could have,” Eddie starts.

“We both could have,” Buck says. He leans in, kisses Eddie softly. “Time, people, things. Everything happens, Eddie, but we made it here, didn’t we?”

“Yeah,” Eddie breathes out. He leans in, face tucked back against Buck. If he turns his head just so, he can hear the steady thump thump of Buck’s heartbeat. “We did.”

Buck whispers something else, something loving and beautiful, but Eddie doesn’t hear it over the lull of Buck’s heart, the steady rise and fall of Buck’s chest beneath his cheek. It wraps around him like a blanket, though, safe and warm and his.
