Your request are open so...Could you write a fic abt like it snowing in October (sadly happened to me) and the boys just complaining abt it and sticking to bae's side, using bae as a human heater, hot chocolate. With tons of fluff and crack (sorry if its not understandable English isn't my native language)
word count: 2.2k
warnings: none
genre: fluff and crack (more fluff, this is my fault tbh, i can only write two things: angst or fluff, no inbetween)
a/n: I let out all the fluff from my heart into this, I'm so sorry, but I just love winter and it shows. I hope you're doing fine with the sudden snow, take care of yourself! And as I said, you're completely fine, I understood you perfectly, I just hope I wrote what you imagined. Thank you again for requesting, and feel free to come back any time for more!
Please let me know if I left a warning or anything out, I will add it in! Reblogs, likes and feedback are greatly appreciated!
!I don't condone anyone stealing my work and posting it anywhere without my permission, or feeding it to AI!
!This is just fiction, my interpretation of Stray Kids. By no means is this how they are and how they behave in real life!

A soft tune floated through the room, waking Bae from his pleasant slumber. His blind hand quickly found his phone on the nightstand, having always placed the device there, an almost ritualistic act of his. A soft little sigh left his body in protest of the idea of getting up, the blanket warm and snug around his form. It all felt like laying in the middle of a cozy cloud sandwich, warmed by the gentle rays of the sun as they wrapped themselves around his waist.
Wait, the sun wouldn’t make small sounds in its sleep.
Rubbing his eyes open slowly, Bae found the reason why his bed felt like the inside of a furnace itself, the body of his leader laying just beside him. Soft snores left his form, his features peaceful as he was finally asleep, a rare moment in itself from the man who avoided sleep as if it was the plague. Bae couldn’t help the small smile that sneaked itself onto his lips, even though there was an uninvited guest in his own bed.
He let himself lay there for a few more minutes, observing the other, before finally tearing his gaze away and gently getting up, careful not to wake the other. The man was notorious for how light he slept, and Bae would rather be caught dead than be the reason for Chan's awakening. As he slowly slid out of the warm haven, he watched, amused, as hands tried to follow his wake uselessly. It was clear Chan was missing the warmth from his side, a little frown taking the content expression's place on his face. Bae caught himself almost letting out an amused exhale, the sight entirely too controversial as to what the world knew as Stray Kids’ strong leader.
It was adorable, a carefully treasured moment in Bae’s mind. What he didn’t understand though was the reason why his hyung was there, in his room. It rarely ever happened, especially like this, when the tired producer showed up in the bed, overnight, uninvited.
Not wanting to linger too much on that thought and be late from his personal dance practice, he turned around to start getting ready. Yet, his feet stopped in their place, the air prisoned in his chest.
It was snowing.
October merely started a few days ago, the weather normally chilly and nowhere near cold enough to form the pristine flakes that were now gracefully falling from the sky, as if it was all completely natural. The sky was white, a layer of unflavoured cotton candy enveloping the streets below. Before he knew it, Bae was already at his entirely too huge window, his hand sticking out of its opened form. The air lightly bit into his skin, the limb turning cold as it waited there patiently for as long as it needed to.
Pale skin slowly turned red, goosebumps forming here and there when finally, a snowflake landed on his outstretched hand.
Big, sparkling eyes watched the little thing, its intricate design. How the lines branched out and met each other, how they twisted gracefully, until they created something so tiny, yet so breathtaking. Another one landed next to it, a bit bigger, yet its design completely different. It was more round instead of a star shape, as if the sky crocheted a little tablecloth for fairies.
“As much as I know you love snow, please come back in, you’ll catch a cold.” - a raspy voice pleaded with him from behind, strong arms gently tugging him away and closing the window.
Bae didn’t feel that cold until now, his fingers aching, his skin lightly prickling as warmth finally blanketed it once again. A sneeze left his form, quiet and muted, much like the type of person he was. A tissue appeared in his vision, his slightly shaking hands accepting it gratefully.
“Sorry I woke you up.” - Bae quietly muttered once he was done, glancing down at a Chan who was looking entirely too fondly up at him. “Nah, it’s okay. Should’ve woken up soon anyway.”
Bae nodded at that, knowing fully well that the man was too stubborn to say anything else. He went around his room and silently got ready for the day, his form quick and efficient as it glided over the cold floorboards. Once he had the bed made, comfy clothes ready to be worn prepared on top of it, he turned to his quiet leader, head tilted. He still didn’t know why the man decided to raid his room, after all.
“Aish, don’t look at me like that!” - at Chan’s protest, Bae merely tilted his head to the other side.
“Fine, fine! It was already snowing by the time I got back and my bed was just way too cold.”
The leader’s ears were too red, his arms crossed and lips in a pout. Yet Bae merely airily laughed, not at all surprised at the whole thing’s reasoning. Catching a glance of the newly appeared dimples, he turned around, now really needing to go and get ready for his practice. On his way to the bathroom, he bumped into a sleepy Jisung and Changbin, greeting their confused forms as he hurried by.
After a quick shower and his morning routine done, Bae, who was now fully clothed -even with a beanie-, ran into a problem.
That problem being his noisy roommates.
“Nooooo, don’t go, jagi, pleaaaaaase. It’s snowing, it sucks, just stay back!” - Jisung wailed with his doe eyes staring at his victim, arms locked around one of Bae’s. “Aaaaa, don’t goooooo, stay with uuus! It’s too cold for you to leave!” - it was Changbin, the loudest, as he was holding Bae back from behind with all his strength. “Baby don’t goooooooooo. It’ll be too cold without you here.” - even Chan joined them, clinging onto Bae’s other arm.
Of course, Hyunjin was also on the loud trio’s side, his entire weight supported by Bae as he just leaned against his front quietly. The other three shouted enough, he didn’t need to join them to try and win Bae over, the drama llama knew that. It took every fibre of Bae to not just topple over, the pulling and pushing forces on his body almost too much to handle.
He really should have anticipated this all from the moment he saw that it was snowing, his bandmates always turning into even bigger cuddlebugs and whiney babies the moment winter arrived. He could merely sigh, letting the tension leave his body, silently telling the others that he would, in fact, stay back with them. It was a Sunday after all, something they got to spend however they wanted to, as the company forced them to take a break against their will -something Bae clearly didn’t want to oblige to-.
“I’ll call the others over!” - Hyunjin immediately left to grab his phone, energy suddenly radiating from him. “Tell them to bring snacks!” - it was Changbin, his form already in the kitchen to grab their own snacks. “And some fluffy blankets! You know, like the one Felix has!” - Jisung’s voice rang through the entire dorm, his form zooming around the rooms and collecting blankets and pillows. “Just tell them to be careful and to dress up warm!” “Okay old man!”
Chan could only sigh, his head resting against Bae’s shoulder as he now fully stood behind his tallest member, arms encircling petite waist. Bae gently shook his head, not understanding how they could be so clingy just because of a little snow. With his hands over Chan’s, he waddled over to the living room, depositing the protesting male there and pushing everything away to make place in front of the TV.
Not a minute later after he was finished did Jisung appear, arms full of comfy and fluffy blankets, pillows, everything you could imagine. The lil quokka deposited them there, the trio promptly grabbing them and building an enormous pillowfort. They even had some fairy lights installed inside, thanks to Felix who’d suggested it the first time they’d built something like this.
Sometime along Hyunjin joined in, latching onto Bae as if he was the weasel’s personal heater. It made the building a bit harder, but at this point, Bae was used to it, even as Jisung joined Hyunjin and dragged the poor otter to the ground. Jisung only laughed as his lips took on that lovely heart shape, making Bae remain silent as he found no strength to reprimand the boy for what he did.
Soon voices could be heard, the front door opening and the missing half of the band poured in. Felix beelined towards the kitchen along with Minho, bags in both their arms. Changbin greeted them loudly, still busy with making something. The two youngest joined the others in the fort, burrowing their way into Bae’s arms, much to the protest of everyone else.
“What’s with you guys?” - Bae asked incredulously, yet his arms circled around the two to hold them in place. “You run hot, perfect for snuggling. Especially on cold days like these. Even Innie cannot resist it, and that says something.” - Seungmin mumbled out, his face buried into Bae’s neck.
The maknae didn’t say a word, simply let out a content sigh as he snuggled into Bae’s chest on the other side, cold fingers settling onto the poor man’s sides and freezing him in silence. Hyunjin and Jisung grumbled, but let their cute little members stay there, instead settling behind Bae and playing with his hair. Chan merely watched the whole thing happen with fondness in his eyes, choosing to go out to the kitchen instead to help the others.
Good thing too, because everyone came back with their hands full, snacks and steaming mugs in their hands. Bae and the two young ones were forced to sit up as their own mugs were gently passed into their hands, the smell of hot chocolate hitting their faces full force. It was something that Bae loved, being a member of the club of coffee dislikers besides Felix, instead usually opting for sweet drinks. He leaned back against the two boys and the couch behind them, letting himself relax for once.
He watched the chaos he grew fond of fold out before him as he slowly sipped on his hot cocoa, savouring the pleasant burning sensation on his tongue. His eyes followed Changbin chasing Chan around, the latter having stolen a cookie from the dwaekki after their mugs were forgotten on the coffee table pushed to the side. He watched as Felix took the opportunity, taking more food for himself before the chasing duo could notice, a devilish little smirk playing on his lips. He also watched as Minho climbed into their fortress, threatening Hyunjin with some tissues after the boy didn’t want to let the cat take his place. Of course, Minho won, Hyunjin pouting as he sat aside and took a happy little Felix into his arms.
Bae let his head fall back, looking at the resident cat and searching his face. Minho looked back at him, slowly blinking a few times and gently patting his side. It was their own way of communicating, telling the other that everything was fine and nothing bad happened on their way over. No words were needed, they easily understood the other. Bae just blinked back and turned forward, taking back the two youngest under his arms -as much as he could with his mug in his hands-, them having finished drinking it. Jisung snuggled into his back on one side, while Minho just leaned his head against his own.
By the time the other two joined them, their mugs weren't steaming anymore and some members started whining, wanting to already watch the movie. Of course, their first choice was a Ghibli one, with two big fans being in their midst. Howl’s moving castle started playing, everyone quieting down and settling in as snacks were passed around in the dark room, only illuminated by the fairy lights and the TV. The gentle glow and warmth enveloping them quickly put everyone into a fuzzy headspace, dancing on the precipice of sleep and awareness. With every movie they watched the more they leaned over to the side of sleep, eyes staying closed for a few seconds longer with each blink.
It was long past noon when everyone was at last fully asleep, limbs tangled with each other and snacks completely devoured. Bae was at the bottom of the pile, everyone hogging a part of him for at least a little bit of his warmth. Somehow while the movies played, Felix crawled on top of the tall male, selfishly taking the most for himself. Changbin by some strange means ended up hugging one of Bae’s legs, forced to sit near the edge of the fort. Chan was in a similar situation, limbs thrown over both Felix and Bae’s legs. Hyunjin wormed his way back behind Bae, making him, Minho and Jisung huddle there and act as the slumbering otter’s backrest. Seungmin and Jeongin successfully secured their position in Bae’s arms the whole time, peacefully snoring there.
Winter arrived sooner than it should have, and while the members liked to whine about it, it was also one of their favourite season for a certain cuddly reason.
#my bias is showing so hard but honestly?#cold days and Chan go perfectly hand in hand#anyone can fight me on this#also this request healed a part of my seasonal depression and thank you for it lil sunshine#now to go back to that one soft SKZ song and continue listening to it over and over again#stray kids#skz#stray kids oc#skz oc#stray kids 9th member#skz 9th member#request#glacial prince#bang chan#lee know#lee minho#seo changbin#hwang hyunjin#lee felix#han jisung#kim seungmin#yang jeongin#stray kids fanfiction#skz fanfiction#stray kids fanfic#skz fanfic

✧˚ · . RELATIONSHIPS WITH SKZ
BANG CHAN - CHIANA / BANANAZ
the reason for bananaz is because just like her and felix, its very rare to see one without the other!! bang and kiana tg,,, chan was the first friend kiana made at JYP and she was also new to korea (sort of) so he helped her a lot!! hes the reason she decided to continue song writing and eventually he helped her start producing some songs during trainee days too. a lot of the songs she wrote during predebut ended up being fixed a little and turned into songs for other groups. she has a HUGEE folder on chans computer filled with songs, bc shes too lazy to get her own😭(chans been begging her to leave his computer alone or at least let him get her one) no matter how much chan cares for kiana, she still gives him gray hairs when shes teasing him with seungmin.. cross that, when shes being her in general. she never listens to him which often causes her to get hurt or just annoy him😭 but he still loves our girl <3
LEE KNOW - MYUNJI
lee know also helped kiana when she first came to JYP !! not only in speaking korean , but also in dancing . when she first came she was more talented in singing than dancing so he taught her. he has a soft spot for ki and when theyre seen together ,theyre probably bullying seungmin or just being cute . lee know is always trying to steal gamcho tho which results in kiana tackling him.. kiana always teases him about being 1 inch shorter because he used to always be so much taller than her but now shes the taller one (she caught him searching up “how to get taller” once and now she never lets it go) these two are always doing dance challenges and tiktok things together (1/3 of the ones she forces to do tiktoks with her..) but having a soft spot for her doesnt really count for all the time.. its not lee know if hes not teasing a member 💁♀️
CHANGBIN - CHANGJI
never let changbin stand next to her.. the third tallest and the shortest member . this man will throw a tantrum if it means he doesnt have to stand next to her 😭 despite her looking like she doesnt work out, she actually goes to the gym with changbin a lot, working up those abs 💪(fans and ‘bout half of skz don’t know tho🫣🫣) . whenever chan is busy , but she has a new song she wants to show she always goes to him to see if its good . its also hard to see these two without eachother . when he first saw her he alr knew they had to be friends from how her personality was !!
HYUNJIN - 2HYUN / JINKI
she needs to let poor hyune rest💔 2/3 line of who she forces to do tiktoks with her. hes coNSTANTLY getting spammed by her, like waking up to 120+ tiktoks when hes only been sleeping for 4 hours yhat day.. kianas first victim of physical touch 💁♀️ bro is constantly getting attacked by hand holding , cuddles , etc.. but ignoring the bullying things kiana does to him , she still loves him v v much <3 shes his #1 hype girl, vis versa too. early debut she was over working herself very hard to make more songs for skz since 2/3 of 3racha were working on other stuff and he constantly made sure she was taking a break and eating 💔 myy 2hyun😥
HAN - KIASUNG
OH LAWD. never let these two be together esPECIALLY if theyve had a single sip of a drink thag makes them energetic. these two actually make chan go lose hair from stress😭 theyre alr bad enough but if chan is near them,, they make it their job to make this man stressed istg‼️ but aside from that theyre actually so cute together . suprise suprise this is actually the only member predebut!kiana didnt get along with👁️, it’s not that she hated him she just,, found him hard to deal with per say and thought he hated her based off a misunderstanding (lots of angst happened during that time 🤓)
FELIX - MEOWZ / HYELIX
felix and kiana,, beloved kittys and sunshine’s of skz <3 no one mess with these two or else you will have to deal with hyung line (as bang chan says ) these two actually went way back and didnt even know it until 2020😭them being both 00’ line and living in sydney resulted in them being friends in their childhood, but kiana went to korea first in 2015 meaning she left felix. they found out they were childhood friends because at the dorms chan asked him about his childhood and he was talking about it and kiana was like ,, wait. had a friend that left in 2015?? short brown hair??,, and then boom🤞🏾. instead of ki forcing him to do tiktok challenges and trends , he actually brings it up to her.. meaning she cant prank him with tiktok things <\3 these two are also very affectionate with showing their love, like physical touch!! so its not rare when you seem yhem together theyre cuddling..
SEUNGMIN - SEUNGJI / KIAMIN
the last dreaded victim of being forced to do tiktoks.. seungmin and her honestly act like a fake middle school friendship with the way their constantly bullying chan,, or she’s bullying him with minho. but in all honesty they both love eachother <33 my seungji are so HDJDJDJ🥹 hes actually probably one of the ones she’s closest with as of now . somedays ( a lot ) they just sit in peace and quiet while she lays on him (or vise versa ) and read or watch videos , they honestly don’t even know how long it’s been until a member comes in and yells at them bc they’re about to miss their dinner reservation 😭 her and seungmin often do lives with eachother and try to bake/cook or play games and it’s so cute
JEONGIN - JIANA / KYANG
kianas other victim of her physical touch love language 😔 #saveinnie fr this man is TIREDD. but he lets it slide bc predebut they werent exactly the closest if friends… in some ways theyre exact polar opposites , but thats what makes them close ig🤞🏾 . innie who eats his food in one bite 🤝🏾 ki who takes small bites. this one time she was tryna mimic him by taking a huge bite of her food and lee know took a photo of her and said she looked like a muffin because of her cheeks😭 him kiana and chan have a vlive series together!! (basically the only time you’ll see them all together in not really peace) these two are also funky shoes twins!! stays are constantly making fun of them for their shoes 👁️

A Change of Rhythm (1)
Pairing: Yoongi x Musician!f.Reader
Recommended playlist: Slump(SKZ), Wishing on a Star(BTS), Stars and Raindrops(SKZ), Coffee(BTS), Hug Me(I.N), Dimple(BTS), Hoodie Season (3racha/SKZ), Chocolate (Day6), Love Senario(iKon), Blueberry Eyes(MAX), Can't Stop(SKZ), Blue Hour(TXT)
This is a work of FICTION, everything is made with creative liberty and is not meant to represent anyone/any true events.
Music. My best friend, my first love, my passion, and turns out to also be my thirteenth reason. When my muse runs out, that’s it. My career is over. Old songs are boring, everything now is just so boring and stressful.
I slammed my hands on my keyboard for the nth time. “Dammit…” I leaned back into my chair, leaning so far back I almost fell to the floor. A heavy sigh left my lips, “Why can’t I come up with anything good anymore?” I looked at the floor, this had been going on for a month, absolutely no songs made, and ten times the stress levels. I knew I needed a break from everything for a while. I needed a change of rhythm.
I grabbed my wallet and jacket and left my genius lab. It’s not a genius lab without a genius in it, I needed to get him back soon. I closed the door, and wouldn’t be returning until this slump came to an end. Which hopefully would be soon.
…
“What do you mean you’re sick? You sound fine. You were fine yesterday.”
“I’m sick of this job,” I said, hanging up the phone. Instead of heading to Hybe, I called in sick. I might have well as been sick, a producer with no creativity is basically on the death bed. Likewise with an unmotivated musician. Sometimes you just need to get away from what you’re bored of for a while and return to it later. I grabbed my tote bag, put a few things in it, and went to a nearby coffee shop. The second floor is always better than the first, you get a beautiful view of the neighbourhood with all of the foliage.
When we got back from Vegas I never thought I would love to see so much green again. “That’s something I could write about—“ I got my pen out to jot in the small notebook of mine only to see the previous page and stop, “oh… I already did.” I always made writing songs look easy, but it never is. Inspiration appears so randomly, sometimes it comes through so clearly, but other times, like today, it’s coming at me like molasses. The ideas and I are almost like two south poles of a magnet. When I reach out for an idea, it runs away.
I let out a soft sigh, putting my notebook back into my tote bag. I finished my coffee while stalking my Instagram profile and deleting random DMs. These people are so unhinged online, it’s disgusting to think of the dirty things some people will message you with. They really drown out the important messages.
“Are you unproductive?” The ad blared from my phone. Instagram ads are so well hidden in the system, but that doesn’t make them any less annoying. I was about to scroll before it continued, “maybe it’s time for a change of rhythm. Here’s ten things to help get your motivation back.”
~~~
So I listened. Fresh air? Check. Book? Check. Dramas? Check. A will to live? Working on it.
It’s what I was doing anyway, just taking a break from everything. Plus Namjoon does this kind of stuff all the time. I brought my tote bag to the park and found a shade tree. I pulled out a self-help book by one of my favourite authors and got to reading. There was the slightest breeze, and the sun felt toasty on my legs that poked out from the shade of the tree.
~~~
I don’t know when I had fallen asleep, but I was woken up by this girl, playing classical music on her phone. Or maybe it was the sun in my face that really woke me. At the moment, however, I could only focus on the loud music, the very thing I was avoiding. Why did she have to blast it like that? “Hey, can you wear headphones or turn it down?” I felt groggy, and not like waking up… at all. She turned to look at me and I saw her hair, (s/t) skin and (e/c) eyes. ‘Oh, she’s a foreigner.’ I suddenly went into English robot mode, “Hello, your music, turn it down. Please?” Her eyes just went wide, like beautiful marbles. Why were they kind of cute? ‘What if she doesn’t speak English?’ My heart dropped at the thought.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” She replied in English. I sighed with relief and grabbed onto my chest. She bowed and walked away. In the distance, I could see her cover her face like she wanted to crawl into a hole from embarrassment. It almost made me feel guilty. But who plays their music so loudly without headphones on, in public? I thought that was clear internationally too, but maybe not. Who am I to judge?
I grabbed my phone and looked at the time, it was a few hours after when I normally ate lunch. Maybe I should just go home for the rest of the day. ‘Home… Maybe I should go back to Daegu for a bit.’ I packed my book, water, and small picnic blanket into my bag and walked home. The sun felt nice on my skin. I thought about writing a song called ‘Sunkissed’ on the walk home.
‘The warm lips of the sun
They hold you in when you’re trying to run...’
“No, I hate it.” I ripped the paper out of my notebook and threw it away. I honestly wanted to cry. Either cry from stress or break everything I could. I opted to cry. And I did, I cried for at least an hour. Through making my lunch. Through eating that lunch while watching a drama on my big flat-screen TV, with Holly on my lap. And finally through my shower to rinse off the dirt from the park.
They say crying is for the weak, but I don't think so. It’s not a weakness, it’s a sign of struggle, and battle scars. It’s a coping mechanism. Screw those people who talk shit about people who cry too much.
I sigh after rinsing my hair out. I grab the towel that hangs on the bar attached to the glass of the shower. Suddenly I thought about what I would have to get for my parents. I shouldn’t visit them empty-handed… although I could. “I’ll make something out of wood for them. I already made cutting boards for the members, so… Maybe a coat hanger to put by the door.” I decided. The only thing you can give someone who has everything already or can get whatever they want is something handmade.
I wrapped the towel around my waist so I could dry my hair. I put a few products in it before blow-drying it. Then I put some face cream and sunscreen on my face and went back to my couch to continue the drama. Holly hopped up on my lap and nuzzled at my elbow until I lifted my arm over him. It’s the cutest thing a dog can do. My heart was completely melted by his actions. “Why are you so cute Holly-ah?” I started petting his curly fur and rubbing his ears. “Do you wanna visit Daegu again? Let's start packing tomorrow, huh?”
“Woof!”
~~~
There was a hesitation before I raised my hand to knock on the door of the two-story building. My mom came to the door with equal hesitation, then she realised it was me. “Yoongi-ah, what are you doing here all unannounced?” I walked in with my small suitcase.
“I thought I’d visit for a little while. I didn’t think I needed to get an invitation.”
“Of course not. I love seeing my little boy.” She picked up Holly, and took the leash from my hands. “Isn’t that right my little boy?” She asked, referring to Holly. I made a bet with myself that within thirty minutes she would dress him in the silliest little outfit. I don’t know how she gets him to let her, I’m lucky if I can get a bandana on him. Mothers are full of magic. “So what’s the real reason why you came, Yoongi-ah? Is work getting stressful?” I could only nod in response. I didn’t need to say anything.
“Is Hyung home?”
“No, he’s at work, probably like you should be right now.”
“Dad too?”
“Yep. I was about to get dinner ready. We weren't expecting you, so go to the store and get more ingredients.” She shifted Holly to her left hand and grabbed my arm with her right. I was practically kidnapped into the kitchen, and given a list of things to get from the store. I briefly looked at the list, and I could see some things that were not just for dinner.
“Do we need cotton pads for dinner?”
“You’re going to the store anyway, there’s no need for multiple trips today.” She patted my back, and mouthed ‘thank you’. I sighed and began my short journey to the store.
~~~
I realised that I should have driven to the store. It never hit me that I would carry more than eight bags home. I had to make two stops, but luckily the stores are relatively close to one another. But that didn’t help my arms from carrying all these bags.
“Need help there?” I turned around towards the voice. I didn’t catch my grin before I saw his face.
“Hyung. Here, take them.”
“All of them?” He started laughing, then realised I was serious.
“Yes,” I replied, holding out all of the bags for him to take. And of course he only took half. “Ya! I said all of them!” I couldn’t throw them all on him before he ran away. We reached home before I knew it. It may have gone faster because I chased him the whole way home.
I only caught up to him after we got home. He was standing by the door, about to take his shoes off, but not quite. He was busy laughing his ass off over god knows what. “Ma, he runs like a grandpa! Hahaha!”
‘So that’s what it was. He’s talking shit.’ I opened the door and walked in calmly. While taking my shoes off I purposefully nudged my hyung with my shoulder. Sadly, he didn’t fall over as I had hoped. “We bumped into each other while walking home.” I brought the bags to the kitchen, washed all of the vegetables, and put them in the baskets with the matching produce. “Mom, I’m done,” I called out.
“Uhuh,” she replied. She walked past me, and pet Holly, who had been standing right outside of the kitchen which was also the entrance hall of the house. She then fanned her hand towards me, telling me to get out of the kitchen. I jumped, ran to Holly and played with him a little.
“So how are you doing Yoongi-ah?” My brother patted my shoulder, behind me.
“Bored out of my mind. How’s the restaurant going?” At some point, he had gotten a bag of chips.
“Pretty much the same since the last time you visited. Pretty busy on the weekends. I still get some of your little fangirls, asking if you can marry them. Maybe if you actually got married they’d stop asking.” He began to laugh and held his belly.
“Shut it hyung, you’re older than me, what about your wife? Oh right, you don’t have one.” I looked at him smugly with my arms crossed. ‘Seriously, this guy…”
“Ouch. That one hurt.” He wrapped both of his hands around his heart like he had been struck by a bullet. “At least I’m not being asked by millions upon millions of people around the world to marry them. I’m perfectly content without that kind of stress. I’m just gonna wait for my Miss Right.”
“You’re like a billion years old, hyung- You know what? Nevermind.” I let out a long sigh. Sometimes hyung was great, he was the only one that had supported my love for music career through my middle and high school ages. But he could also be a brat as if he was the younger sibling.
“I’m going to go help Mom cook. Make yourself useless.” I groaned in response as I made my way from the entrance hall to my room, upstairs. I dove through my suitcase to get my tablet and continued the new drama I had started. I don’t usually watch romances, but this one had good reviews from the watchers. There was also an adorable cat. I couldn’t help but want my own when I watched how cute the kitten was in the show.
At some point in time, Holly had climbed the stairs and walked into my room whining. “What is it Holly-ah? Are you hungry?” Holly’s ears perked up and his head tilted at the word ‘hungry’. I got up with an iconic dad grunt and picked Holly up like a purse between my arm and body. When I got downstairs I pulled out some ground beef from the fridge that Mom didn’t use in her cooking, and began to simmer it in the pan. I mixed it with some sweet potatoes and put some spices that vets recommend for dogs like turmeric and such. Holly jumped around sporadically while I put the contents into a bowl for him. “Sit, hand. Other hand, okay!” Holly was always good with the little training tricks I taught him as a puppy.
“Well now that you’re downstairs, dinner is ready. Come eat Yoongi-ah,” Mom said. I hummed back in understanding and walked to the table in the living room that connected to both the entrance hall and the kitchen like a ‘T’ shape.

You love dancing. It was a hobby you tackled at the early age of 14 that you decided to develop later on when you got into the world of pop. You've tried variants of styles, and you seem to fit this genre the most.
Your decision to pursue your passion for dancing led you to so many opportunities, one being– you met Lee Minho.
You whine for the 10th time, dropping to your knees. The music continues to play, and the voice of what you could tell was Chan fills the room. You've been dancing in your living room for the past 2 hours. You decided it would be nice to learn Maniac from your boyfriend's group comeback but it was too fun to stop at one song– you learned 3, and all a pain to your whole being at the moment.
You check the time and smiled, he'll be home soon. You take a drink from your water bottle, listening to the song until it ends.
Wanting to dance more, you quickly stood up– which was a bad idea since it sent your head spinning– and waited for the next song to play. You place your phone on a stand before hitting the record. Charmer. The adrenaline ran through your veins as the music hyped you up.
You danced through Han's and Chan's part but the thought of Minho's coming up soon sent a big smile to your face. Feeling giddy affected your moves as it became more hyper. Despite the giddiness, you match his voice until the chorus came, you have to dance the choreo.
You were too lost in the music that you didn't notice Minho by the doorway. He called you twice now and you not hearing anything else made him laugh a little. You were dancing to their song and his voice, which made his heartbeat race. He adored the way you moved finding it adorably hot on his part.
He loved your passion for dancing, it was one of the reasons why he fell in love. The first time he saw you was when your dance instructor paired you, he almost fell for you right then and there but then he watched you dance. It was always so enticing to him the way you carried yourself as you got lost in the music. You were beautiful.
Minho was just as immersed as you were in the song. His cheeks painted in a pink hue, ears red, his eyes sparkled with adoration for his lover— then you drop to your knees again.
You tried to catch your breath. You let out a slight chuckle, fanning yourself.
"How sexy of you." You hear his voice from the doorway, making you jump.
"Minho!" You stood up, "I'm sorry, I didn't hear you come in." You frown, walking closer to him.
"Yeah, you didn't hm?" He meets you halfway, wrapping his arms around your waist. "You can make it up with a kiss." He raised his eyebrow.
You laughed, hitting his chest lightly before resting your hands on them. "But I'm still so sweaty, Min. Let me go change fi-" your words were cut off with his lips against yours. You feel the corners of his mouth curve into a smile.
Minho pulls away with a sigh of relief as if he'd been waiting for it all day. His arms pull you closer. "That's enough rest for you. Go back to dancing!"
"How?! Let me go!!" You laugh. "Minho I can't dance if you're not gonna let go." You pout.
"Too bad then." He smirks.
"I wanna dance, angel." You cup his face, smiling ever so sweetly.
It worked.
Minho sighs, unwrapping his comfy arms on your waist. He smiles at you as you went on to change the music. The pink in his cheeks never left, possibly turning red as you accidentally played Red Lights.
"Wait no!" You panic, trying to change the song.
Minho laughs, taking his hoodie off to reveal the plain black shirt he wore underneath. He tosses the hoodie on the couch before walking behind you to wrap his arms around you again. "C'mon, play Domino. That's always fun." He smiles.
You did as told. "You're gonna dance with me?" You smile, holding his hands that rested on your tummy.
"Dance with you?" He presses a small kiss on your cheek. "I think I'd have more fun watching." He smiles cheekily.
"Fine. Watch all you want." You pout, pushing him away to continue your dance. You hear him gasp loudly before sitting on the couch to actually watch you.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes. The music had played minutes ago and it just so happened that the chorus was coming.
Minho watched with amusement as you move perfectly, hitting every beat. You could probably even be better than him but he won't admit that. His cheeks dusted pink as he fights the urge to dance with you– well until he couldn't anymore.
"Well if you insist..." He whispered to nobody in particular before rushing to join you which made you laugh.
"I can't believe I actually learned this." You groaned, halting your moves.
Minho laughed. He disregarded the choreo, pulling you to him instead as he sways both of you with all his energy.
The living room was filled with your laughter as Minho hyped you more, jumping around hand in hand with you. You surely forgot the camera and you're sure your neighbors could hear you but you didn't care. It felt like you ruled the world right now–
your own little world, that is.

--
Chan
Song: New Home, Austin Farwell
Chan can be a bit frustrating at times. His behavior at work is different from his behavior at home, not in a bad way, but he seems to switch modes when he’s in the studio. Sometimes his professionalism can get in the way of truly opening up to you, yet you feel as if he knows everything about you. Chan likes to pay attention to everything, everyone, all at once. But this is always quickly remedied, as he is a firm believer of never going to bed upset. Talking to Chan is always a relief and you love how open he can be sometimes. Chan likes to show his love in different ways and sometimes (more often than not, all the time) this can hamper his ability to love himself. But loving Chan reminds you that not everything can be perfect and this is okay! Imperfection is what makes your love for Chan stronger, and you love to make this a point when he’s down. Chan always strives to be a perfect partner and lover, but loving you makes him love himself too. The way you remind him what it means to be human, it’s something he’ll cherish forever. Loving Chan is loving his work, his moods, his personality, his everything. Nothing makes him feel more loved than him coming home after studio recording days and you waiting for him on the couch. His arms wrap perfectly around your body like they were made for hugging you. Chan loves to tell you how beautiful you are, how incredibly patient you are, and how imperfectly perfect you are for him. Loving Chan is loving to be human.
Leeknow
Song: Clouds, Luke Faulkner
Minho is generally a loud and proud type of person. As a partner, Minho is chaos personified, but there’s also a gentleness to him that is profoundly deep and lasting. Minho is a gentle lover, not very expressive, but his motives are there-loud and clear. His actions may be a bit misguided, like that one time he surprised you at work with a personally delivered lunch but you were in the middle of a meeting with your boss when he walked into your office yelling, “Jagi!!” Nonetheless, his intentions are as clear as daytime in the summer. His words may be jumbled sometimes, or he may get moody, but that’s precisely why you love him. Despite him not being a stereotypical and ‘perfect’ lover, he makes loving seem easy and fun. He’s quick to keep a hand on you, making sure you know he’s there when you need him. Minho is quick to land kisses on you when you show any sign of being upset or anxious. His disposition scares others, but to you, he is the perfect ending to your day. He is the start to your morning, the stars to your telescope. Minho knows you like he knows the back of his hand. Loving Minho is like waking up to a sunrise and hearing the birds chirp. Minho loves to love you, and you only. He loves his fellow straykids members, but loving you is different. It’s what makes him whole and feel real. It fills any doubts he has in his mind about things that happen in life, it makes him feel secure in the path he takes, because as long as he’s with you, he can do anything. Loving Minho is loving the process of being in love.
Changbin
Song: First Love, Luxid
Changbin is a man that knows what he wants. That is, until he met you. Changbin has never felt so blindsided yet free in his life. Changbin is a prideful man, a hardworking, talented, pretty young man. You never fail to be surprised each time he professes his love to you (which is every morning in bed) or every time he surprises you by coming home before you to help you relax from a long day of work. Changbin loves to be your picture perfect lover, someone you can brag about to both your parents and your friends. But when he’s with you, all his walls come crashing down. His pride is torn to bits, not by you, but by his adoration for you. He loves to spoil you when given the chance, he loves to kiss you silly. Changbin is enamored with the mystery you bring into his life, the spontaneity you breathe into his days. He’s in love with how much he’s discovered about himself since you showed him what it means to be loved. Changbin is struck dumb by your ability to comfort him in stressful times, and by your patience for his thoughts. Your unyielding iron fist in your guys’ conversations about bad days and good days makes him want to surrender all his thoughts to you. Loving Changbin is loving how hard he works, but also how unserious he is. Loving Changbin is feeling the cool breeze on a hot summer day, it is clarity and energizing. Loving him is knowing you will always be safe in his embrace and being encouraged to do more.
Hyunjin
Song: The Flower Garden, Joe Hisaishi
Hyunjin loves to be creative. He loves to create and see creation. That’s why his love for you feels so intimate. It is something the two of you have created together and it makes him giddy to know you have put as much work as he has in order to make something so long lasting and fulfilling. Hyunjin’s love feels slow and comforting, like a lullaby singing to you to have a good night’s rest. It is like Felix’s where it feels like a fairytale, but this fairytale is slow and meticulous in its formation. But it is also detailed and precise, Hyunjin is a perfectionist at heart. Your love for him has melted through his detailed process of creation and now you make the most beautiful of colors as you two show each other love everyday. The hues of your relationship are rich and nothing pleases Hyunjin more than knowing he has provided for you a type of comfort that no one else can give you. Hyunjin loves how you dance for him, he loves how messy you can be and yet still love the final product. You’ve shown him both creatively and romantically that the process is about having fun and not how perfect the end product is. His love has shown you how he has surrendered everything and how much he trusts you. Hyunjin’s love feels like a flower garden during the spring, newly sprouted, yet so satisfying and beautiful. The roots of your intricate romance feel like something new is coming your way, and who knows? Hyunjin might just pop a certain question soon!
Jisung
Song: this is what falling in love feels like, JVKE Jisung is your classic playful lover. Everything seems to spin when you are with him, as if the world revolves around the two of you. Jisung is not the type to publicly show his affection, but he absolutely will show spectacular proclamations of love to you. His affection, physical or not, is always grandiose and dramatic, but also soft and tender. His “i love yous” every morning are not devoid of meaning, nor are his touches or surprises. Jisung feels like a swig of cold water after running hard, loving Jisung feels energetic and happy. Jisung sometimes gets too caught up in his own thoughts to really think through his grandiose plans, but you balance his jumbled out thoughts perfectly. Your ability to sort out his energy is unparalleled, compared even to the likes of Chan. Jisung’s energy matches your calm demeanor in a completely sensible way. Jisung has so many things he wants to say or do, and you are there to tackle them with him one word or day at a time. You love how silly he is, but you also love how he is when he is calm and collected. Jisung’s ability to be laser focused on what he wants is incredibly attractive to you and you love encouraging him to try his best when things don’t go as planned. His never ending fountain of words can slow down into the most eloquent displays of affections. Loving Jisung is like drinking sweet tea by the pool. Loving Jisung is loving how to be silly and still so focused on your emotions. It is goofy but it is so clear to you that Jisung exists for you and you for him.
Felix
Song: So This is Love, Emile Pandolfi
Felix is the most fairy-like person out of the boys, as many can securely back me up. Don’t mistake his dainty demeanor for weak however. Felix’s love is strong, and he makes sure he can support you with his iron will alone. Loving Felix feels like a fairytale at first, it is light and sweeps you off your feet with how perfect it is. His love is like pixie dust on your nose, but also a secure foundation for your feet to walk on. Felix’s words have depth and meaning, his touches remind you that he’s there when you fall and will always be. Your kindness and empathy often do not go unnoticed by him, he loves how caring you are for those around you and it makes his stomach feel warm when you always ask about his family and friends. Your ability to make him feel cared for and secure in his own image makes him fall in love with you every day again. You love how he makes you feel like a princess and he loves how you reassure him immensely. He loves to help you find yourself and you love to hold him when the time calls. Your love with Felix can best be described as holding a butterfly and feeling a sense of euphoria. Loving Felix feels like a ballroom dance in glittering lights, but only the two of you are dancing and nothing else in the world matters. Loving Felix feels like your fairytale will never end.
Seungmin
Song: Mia and Sebastian’s Theme, Kyle Landry
Seungmin is such a roller coaster of a person, it would only make sense that his love is also chaotic as well, right? Wrong. Seungmin’s love is intricate but never chaotic. It has resolve, and is organized. Suengmin knows when to comfort you and when to leave you be. Seungmin is a stickler for being organized, but when you first came into his life, your chaos was a headache. Seungmin hasn’t been that surprised very often, but as he began to realize how much he’s grown to love you, he felt like his world was being turned upside down. All his organized thoughts were dumped on the table like a child emptying their toy box. But as time passes by, Seungmin has learned how to love you for all the chaos you bring him. He loves how much duality you have, being a passionate lover but also being a calm mediator in tough situations. His love feels like flying in the night sky, it’s exciting and yet serene at the same time. It is bright and light, but also has a type of seriousness that makes him feel like he’s got control over his life and emotions. You have a special ability to bring out the best in him, despite the attitude he gives (jokingly). Seungmin loves you fervently, you fuel him in a way no one else can and this makes him want to be a partner that pleases. He loves the way you look at him and he loves the chaos you bring (along with your guinea pig that you both adopted together). Seungmin’s love feels like organized chaos, but it is a fire that lights you both and keeps you running without ever running out of fuel.
I.N
Song: Nothing, Bruno Major
Jeongin is the most shy out of the boys. Despite this, Jeongin is the first to admit he loves you. Those words fascinate him, but he truly feels like he loves you. Jeongin goes with whatever happens, he rides the waves and listens to people as they pass him by. He is reserved, even with his older bandmates, but he opens up completely to you. As a lover, Jeongin likes to do whatever you like and he maintains his gentlemanly manners when you go out with him on dates. He is a calm and level headed partner, always figuring things out even if he doesn’t understand things himself. His shyness is not for a lack of confidence, rather it is his façade to truly observe people. The more he observes you, the more his respect and love for you grows. Your spontaneous disposition pairs well with his flexibility and you find yourselves taking random trips for dates. He admires you whenever he’s with you and honestly, he’s satisfied showing you love on a day trip or a night in at home. He just wants to be next to you and feel your comfort after long days at work. Loving Jeongin is a playful but immensely secure love. It’s comforting like a warm jacket on a snowy day, but it also lets you appreciate the small things in life as you walk to the convenience store at 9pm or cuddle next to him watching the Little Mermaid. Whether it’s playing board games with him or riding a large rollercoaster, loving Jeongin is the same in any circumstance: it is young and playful, but also a pocket of home to you.

SKZ AS...
Stray Kids as receiving a blowjob Pairing: Skz x Reader Genre: smut Word count: 1,994 Warnings: Oral (m receiving) and face fucking, if there’s anything else i need to add please let me know! Authors note: This is kinda garbage but also i love it so much. I also just love seungmins so much cause i often think about it too much lol anyways further a do here it is. (also if you can write in korean and know korean please DM me i’m trying to get a skz tattoo but do not trust google translate in the slightest)
Please if you are under the age of 18 do not interact. Thank you :)
Chan:
Getting in studio blowjobs was one of Chan's favorite things. He’d always be the one to ask, with his puppy dog eyes he’d complain how horny he is and how if you hadn’t worn such a short skirt he wouldn’t feel this way. He’d complain how well, technically TECHNICALLY you made him this horny as you are the root of this problem you should be the one to take care of it. Eventually you give in and get on your knees for him constantly playing the big doe eye angle with his dick in your mouth making him lose his mind. You watch as he squirms trying to continue mixing songs with one hand while holding onto the chairs armrest with his other. He’s an absolute slut when you focus on the head of his cock so that he has enough time to tell you and release on your face, his favorite place, with your tongue sticking out. He’d also be an angel and clean your face off with a tissue while kissing you and mumbling what a good girl you were.
Minho:
You and Minho always had a voyeuristic relationship never shying away from a bit of public sex but when you reached your hands down into his pants in front of his hyung at dinner and continued to tease him he knew he had to put you in your place. He’d give you a deadly side glare that only fed into the pumping of your hand around him. He would excuse himself from the table for a second and as he was just out of sight your phone would go off and you’d scurry off after him making a quick excuse for the table. As soon as you make it behind the door he has you on your knees slipping his throbbing cock between your lips. Rutting his hips into your face not caring about the speed. Essentially he’s face fucking you in the middle of the mens restroom and neither of you could care less. He watches as your mascara runs down your face cooing at how gorgeous you looked with your mouth stuffed full of him. He grips your hair as he cums down your throat then tells you to meet him at the car after you clean your face and goes to tell the boys you felt sick. You were in for a long night of being put in your place.
Changbin:
Changbin would come home in a rage, something about someone not listening to him during rehearsals or something. He’d just be fuming with no way to let it out so he just rants and rants to with clench fists. You have him sit on the couch as he keeps going on and on while you get on your knees between his legs, shaking your head and agreeing with his anger. You take out his member and slowly start to pump him and his ranting slows down and his moans become more frequent. He slides his hand into your hair so he has some control over your movements. You slide him into your mouth gagging as he moves his hips a bit. He looks down apologetically and you just take him further in your mouth, you allow him to take control using your head and his hips to get himself off. He watches as spit falls out of the sides of your mouth and your tears leaving mascara tracks down your cheeks. Seeing how wrecked you are with his cock in your mouth he can’t help but let himself release down your throat. When he removes himself he pulls you onto his lap whipping away your drool and tears very lightly before giving you a sweet kiss as a thank you.
Hyunjin:
Hyunjin has been busy working on some lyrics or some new dance moves for stray kids and you couldn’t care less. The more attention he gave to his work meant less attention for you and you well you were feeling extra needy since being abandoned by your boyfriend. You stand behind his chair, your arms wrapped around his shoulders watching him work as you kissed his neck and nibbled at his ear. He hadn’t said anything about it while occasionally leaving little kisses on your arms. You were growing irritated at how he was just blatantly ignoring your neediness. You whisper little things in his ear and he just tells you later and that he’s busy right now. You stand behind him weighing your options. You can either wait and see if he follows through or you can take control here and seeing as he needs a break anyways you choose the latter. You make camp between his legs and put your head in front of his desk so that he couldn’t not see you. He smiles down at you with all the love in his heart and you explain how he needs a break anyways. He finally leans back and let’s you do your thing as he holds on to the armrest of his chair constantly cooing how beautiful you look when you take him like that. He begins to get whiny when he’s about to come so you take your mouth off his full length paying attention to just the tips and he moves your hands away so he can pump himself and finally release all over your chest. He’d watch as you take your fingers swiping up his release and slowly licking it off, his eyes grow darker and as he shuts his laptop you scurry off to the bedroom with him not too far behind you excited to finally have your Hyunjin back.
Han:
An empty movie theater would be the perfect place for a Jisung blowjob. It wouldn’t take much to convince him either, you’d just have to say well since no one is here and then the sound of his zipper meets your ears. You grin from ear to ear as you reach your hand over the shared arm rest, Jisung letting out quite whimpers. When he was hard enough you bent over the armrest and started moving your head at a rather fast pace as you started to grow nervous of getting caught. You added your hand to jerk off what part of his shaft wouldn’t fit in your mouth and soon he was pulling at your hair and whispering that he was about to come. As he releases in your mouth he bends over his chest hitting the back of your head causing him to go further in your throat and making you gag. Your throat tightens around his already sensitive member causing him to let out a bit louder whine and that’s when someone from the front room sat up and looked back to try to figure out what was happening. Jisung and you look at each other in shock and embarrassment as you both thought the place was completely empty
Felix:
You guys would be backstage at some show waiting for stray kids turn to go on stage and poor Felix, the worst part for Felix wasn’t the performance, it was the waiting, the anticipation. He would constantly get in his own head with the what if’s and shut down and get real quiet. You quickly noticed this process happening and grabbed his hand trying to help calm his nerves but when that didn’t work you looked down at your watch noticing you had enough time. You kissed below his ear pulling him out of his head space for a second then whispered to meet you in the bathroom. He walks in with a confused look as you turn to lock the door really fast, you get on your knees hooking your fingers into his waistband and explaining that you’d help him relax. He’d agree almost immediately, i mean he’d get out of his hand and have your pretty lips around him? Win win. He’d mostly stand there holding his shirt up so it won’t get in your way as you held onto the back of his thighs using it as leverage to force your mouth down his length, the eye contact between you two never wavering. He fed off the intense eye contact only breaking for seconds at a time to watch as you took his length so well, only gagging when he used his hips. You fed off his tiny moans and how he tried so hard to keep his eyes open to stare you down. He’d come in your mouth just because you guys did have to go back out but in his head he came all over your breasts. By the time he got back to the boys he had to go on stage and he was out of his own head all thanks to you and that magical mouth.
Seungmin:
I can see Minnie saying yes to a blowjob while he’s driving like homeboy thinks it’s so hot to do things you’re not supposed to do. Like you guys would be stuck in standstill traffic and with nothing else to do and you’d just have to ask him once and he’d start unbuttoning his pants. He’d gather your hair into a makeshift ponytail and let you do your thing. Your thing including everything from licking him up the bottom of his shaft to suck your cheeks in when you got near the head of his cock. He’d try to control you in little ways like holding your head still periodically, scared you might try to pull something while he moves the car little by little through traffic. He’d let little moans and whimpers slip past his lips trying his hardest to not make it completely obvious to those around him what was happening inside his small car. He’d eventually come down your throat as he hits the brake a little too hard, shoving himself down your throat and you can’t help but moan at the new depth. He’d let a rather loud strained moan out as he holds your hair in his grip. He’d also beg for a kiss from you wanting to taste himself off your mouth and yes it would be the hottest thing you’ve ever done.
IN:
Jeongin loved nothing more than to finally get out of the dorms and stay the night at your apartment, getting away from the boys and their constant babying towards him to seeing you and kissing you whenever he wanted. After staying up all night catching up on what the other has been doing all week you both passed out without even an I love you in exchange. When you woke up, your body curled into Jeongin like a perfect puzzle piece. That was until you felt him poking your lower back. You smiled to yourself rolling over and peppering his face in soft kisses to wake him, he smiles at you grunting at you. When you make a comment about what he must’ve been dreaming about his eyes burst open and his cheeks redden but you kiss it away assuring him that you’d take care of it. You crawl under the blankets but not without a little protest from Jeongin saying you didn’t have to if you didn’t want to but you wanted to more than anything. You take your time with him seeing as it was morning you didn’t want to over stimulate him in any way and hurt him. You can hear his little moans from under the cover as you lick a thick strip on the vein on the underside of his cock. You take your time kissing him and just appreciating him and he enjoys it so much that when he actually comes it takes him by surprise and it’s the hardest he’s ever come. After he would have the cutest fucked out smile wanting nothing more than to just kiss you all over your face and return the favor.

you console them through a break up➔ skz
» navigation
pairing ━ stray kids x friend!reader genre ━ mild angst, fluff warnings ━ mentions of sad skz :( + breakups, pain, etc... summary ━ he’s going through a tough time after a break up, and you’re, undoubtedly, there for him. this is probs how it would go requested! a/n: i did this in a muuuuuuch longer and different style, i hope you like it because i really did :))
────✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ────
─ • CHAN
i can see this happening two ways: he would show up at your door with his head completely dropped towards the ground and eyes glossy, as you’d welcome him with a hug so that he rests on you for just a little bit, or you’d knock at his studio door - in which he’s been suspiciously spending a little too much time in that week - only to be met with huffs and a sad love song dedicated to his ex that both of you know he’ll never release.
you’d sit there on his couch, listening to his side of things and how inevitable the chances of getting back together are, and would hold his hand throughout. he’d squeeze it at the parts of the story which hurt him most, and then shift his seating so that he’s beside you on the couch, once again, laying his head on your shoulder and taking in the comforting sadness in the room through barely audible sniffles.
─ • MINHO
he was always one of the quieter members, but never this quiet...
when you crawled on top of his bunk to cuddle, as you usually did, it earned no reaction from him, and you know something was wrong when he simply turned so that his back faced you, eyes continuously glued to his phone throughout. you saw him scrolling through the break-up messages, and even though he initiated the break-up, he couldn’t help but feel like a total idiot. you’d lay a soft hand on his shoulder as you silently read through the texts with him, and only when he’s closed his phone and a stray tear ran down his face is when you’d gently collapse onto him, and just lay there.
soon, he’d turn. his arms would snake around you and he’d press you harshly to him, more sniffles eliciting from the boy, as you’d serve as tranquil comfort. later, when you forced him out of his bed for dinner did he want to tell you everything, but you shushed him up with a forkful of food in his mouth, telling him that everything is in the past, and unfortunately it cannot be changed, so we should therefore, move on.
─ • CHANGBIN
he would definitely be the type to pretend everything is totally fine, until he just can’t anymore. you know him better than most, and aren’t like his members - who’d be too shy or scared to approach the boy in a state like this - so you’d get to the bottom of his constant sulkiness.
he’d also try to tell you that he’s “on a break” and it’s “not over”, when it totally is, so you’d help him by cautiously telling him to stop lying to himself, and see the bigger picture, and how to work around it. after a waterfall of tears and upset mumbles passes, you brighten his mood using compliments and listing of the things you like about him, before comforting him and getting him to see the rest of the positive things in his life.
─ • HYUNJIN
you would be there with him as he was going through his break-up. when he went upstairs to take a phone call and didn’t come back for over an hour, you’d creep your way to the doorway of your bedroom and see the boy with pale trails of tears on his cheeks, holding onto the phone for dear life as the other party had said something final, and hung up. he’d stare at his screen in utter despair, before loudly wailing and crumbling to the floor.
you’d run up to him and wrap your arms around his fragile form, as he harshly grabbed your arms and pulled you closer. it would take at least a week of him staying in your house until he wouldn’t cry every night anymore, and you’d do that by simply distracting him. although talking it out helped on the first day, forgetting was much harder to do, so you’d do everything in your power to make him, well, forget -- arcades, cinemas, baking, drawing - anything that lead him to a different headscape would help, and would also help him let out his emotions healthily, whether it was thorugh rage at some stupid gameboy machine or his flow of creativity through art.
─ • HAN
han’s the type to cover up his pain and sadness with jokes, so when he told you that he’s been broken up with and tried to smile through the story, his facade couldn’t help but crumble when you unexpectedly jumped to hug him, silencing the boy with your words, “you don’t have to lie around me.”
that would be what got him balling, and without telling you the rest of the story - the ending was obvious - you’d let him snot up your shirt, and soon would bring him to your room, in which you’d fix up his face and hair, complimenting him throughout, and giving him advice as you did so.
“if you still love them, go get them back - try your best. rejection is much worse than living with the regret of not doing anything at all.”
─ • FELIX
he didn’t even have to tell you; when he showed up at your door with the most bloodshot eyes you’ve ever seen, you’d pout at his state and let him inside with a huge hug. he’d bawl into your shoulders and chest as you sat him in the living room and waited until he got tired of crying, with incoherent mumbles in between. you’d wrap him in a blanket and throw away the large pile of snotty tissues on your coffee table, before you both decided on a movie. he would keep laying his head on your shoulder, and you'd have to pat it every now and then whenever a romantic scene would come, hearing low whimpers and sob erupt from the boy again.
─ • SEUNGMIN
“perhaps it’s for the best,” he’d huff out unexpectedly as you sat beside each other on the couch. you’d tilt your head on confusion, putting away your phone and turning to him. “they broke up with me.” seungmin would say emotionlessly, almost lifelessly, which was his mechanism for comfort. “what do you mean?” you’d ask, but he’d only sigh.
“what I mean, is that it’s over. forever.”
you’d lowly curse under your breath as seungmin sat, soullessly staring at the wall, eyes starting to gloss up at the memory. “this calls for liquor,” you’d say and head to the kitchen to grab two glasses and a whiskey, before returning to a now-sniffling best friend. you’d pour the drinks, click your glasses and put on a show you always loved watching together, and although it didn’t cause the same laughter and smiles as before, it was the best plan both of you could come up with for the time being. he’d rest his head on your shoulder after a while, eyes closing as he drifted off to sleep, his ultimate solution for everything as you carried on with the series.
─ • JEONGIN
the sadness wouldn’t hit jeongin until he was in your arms, being hugged. “they said they had to think about it...” he would blubber out, wiping his nose and eyes on the sleeve of his shirt. your parental instincts would come in as you’d crouch down to his height, jeongin on the floor of your apartment, and start preaching.
“when you truly love someone, you don’t have to think about things like that, jeongin. the fact that they’re doubting themselves is enough of a sigh for you to let go. so let’s move on, together.” you’d grab his hands as you spoke, yet the words seemed to fly over his head. “we could’ve just remained friends..” he insisted, lying to himself.
“after everything you’ve been through, you could never just be friends..” you sighed, and watched jeongin’s face contort in another wail, wrapping your arms around his fragile form.

Their girlfriend is curvy and thiqué
Masterlist
...
Bang Chan
° If you wear ripped jeans, he will 100% slap the skin that shows through it. Rubbing it afterwards and then slapping it again. Unless you tell him to stop or if he notices it becoming too red.
° If you have stumpy squishy fingers (Like me), Chan will always be seen playing with your chubby cute fingers, sometimes playfully biting them.
° Loves falling asleep on your chest, he once called them his favorite pillows. Your chest is also victim to most of his hickeys, soon buying at least 10 different turtle necks after you notice the purple marks across your cleavage.
° When he is turned on or just wants to tease you, he will pinch your butt in public. Always failing to hide his sly smirk and small chuckle. You either get him back and return the favor or simply lightly slap his arm.
° Doesn't like when you feel self conscious over your curves and fluffy body features, since he loves every inch on you from head to toe. Will usually stand you in front of mirror and correct you on what you think is 'Ugly'.
"I don't care if you are size 0 or over 300 pounds, I love you for who you are inside and out. Never forget that."
Lee Know
° Will randomly squish your cheeks together until you form a cute pout, always kissing the pout even if he is in public or not. Calls them his little steam buns because they heat up from blushing and are squishy like buns.
° Falls asleep on your stomach when he is really worn out from practice, tickling your sides for your attention when he eventually wakes up.
° Rubs your belly like a cat when he's tired and wants affection, usually rubbing his face into your neck to get comfortable. You were at first a bit hesitant about it since you didn't really like your stomach, but you now beg for his belly rubs when going to sleep.
° Loves when you wear ripped jeans or a tight dress, showing him that you are confident in your looks and embrace your curves. But if anyone looks at you sensually he will block there veiw with a sharp glare.
° Never understands how you can see yourself as anything but a goddess. When you pinch your fluff and whine, he'll kiss your lips to stop you from saying something bad about yourself. Shows you how beautiful you are through kisses that lead into something more 9/10.
"You are nothing less then a goddess that any guy or girl out their would die to have in their arms. And whoever denies that is lying to themselves."
Changbin
° Before you two dated, he always wished he could squish and kiss your adorable cheeks. And now that he can, he won't stop... It has officially became his way of saying hello and goodbye to you.
° If you ever where a skirt or a dress, he will cover your legs with his jacket when you sit down or go up and down the stairs. Because those butt cheeks belong to his eyes only.
° Wakes you up by gently pinching your thighs, running down the hall screaming if he ever pinched to hard. But his screaming is also a mix of laughter because you are too cute to be scary, even if you are legit about to beat his ass.
° When showering together, he will pat a song on your butt. Always ending his "Songs" with an extra hard smack, rubbing it afterwards because he feels bad. Grips your chest in the shower, but not in a sensual way... Kind of like a stress ball to squish.
° If someone ever makes fun of your weight, they won't be able to finish their sentence because he would've knocked their teeth out by then. VERY protective over you because he knows how self conscious you can be.
"I love you so so so much, live isn't even a stong enough word to describe my feelings for you. They are just jealous that they don't have an ass like yours."
Hyunjin
° You are pretty self conscious about your weight and always tell him how heavy you are. So to prove you wrong, he will carry you everywhere until you get the point that you are beautiful and are never too heavy to carry.
° Randomly spanks you just because he can, will become a bit shy if another member catches him though. But if you are alone or if a member didn't see, a sly smirk spreads across his face.
° Praises the hell out of you when you two go shopping together, and if an item you really wanted isn't in your size he blames the store for being shitty. Feels his heart melt when you look at yourself with admiration for once in the mirror.
° Is towel ready for when you come walking of the pool, full aware that a wedgy almost always occurs when you step out of the water. Doesn't mind if you two are alone when it happens though.
° His savage side comes out harsh if someone ever insults your curves, he will not hold back one bit. Once made a guy who was a foot taller than him cry, making everyone who witnessed it realize he will protect you no matter what.
"People suck. You are a beautiful fairy that anyone should be grateful to lay their eyes on. I love you, so let's go home and cuddle."
Han
° Everyone's cameras are out when you two eat, just because both of your cheeks look so cute and puffy when you do eat. You two are nicknamed the chipmunks because of it, which you actually find cute.
° When you are alone he will literally suck your cheeks after he kisses them, always leaving you laughing at how weird it feels. Sometimes he will also breath on your cheeks if your face feels cold.
° Like Hyunjin, he will praise the hell out of you when you go shopping. He's just 10× more loud and hyper when doing it. Once brought strangers over to tell them how absolutely stunning you are, and will pretend to be papparzzi while asking for you to pose.
° Likes being the little spoon when you cuddle, so he can burrow himself into your chest and keep warm. But when he is the big spoon, he will stroke shapes into your stomach and burrow into your neck.
° An mc once talked to Jisung about you, saying how you are uglier than him. Jisung's playful manner quickly faded into serious rage, warning the host to not talk about the love of his life in such a disgusting manner. Stay & Skz backed up Jisung and forced an apology out of the MC.
"Don't listen to that idiot, he clearly doesn't know what beauty means. You are a stunning princess who deserves only love."
Felix
° Your chest means one word to him... Pillows. Whenever you cuddle, you will always see his head laying against your boobs. He never thinks of it as sensual, unless you want it to become smexy time.
° Felix will attack you in a huge koala clingy hug, trapping you in his arms before continuously drumming his hands across your butt. You would smack anyone else who did that to you, but you know he's a precious sunshine who means no harm.
° When you two are chatting alone, he will randomly just squish your cheeks with his small fists. Usually rubbing his nose against yours while giggling cutely, making you wonder how you scored such an adorable angel.
° Likes to bite you playfully, whether it be your arms or thighs you know his teeth will be attached. You weren't surprised when he first did it since he is quite playful, but it honestly melted your heart because you found it so cute.
° Deep voiced taekwondo master Felix comes out to play whenever someone insults you, your sunshine kitten will immediately switch into a deep voiced six pack aussie in a matter of seconds. You appreciate how protective he is, always repaying him with your love.
"You don't have to repay me princess, I do it because I love you. And when I love someone, I won't let anything hurt them."
Seungmin
° Soft boy is shy when it comes to PDA, So he always reminds you how beautiful you are with words. Coming up with your favorite nickname 'Pumkin', it is a common cute nickname but it's the way he says it that makes you melt.
° When you two are heading in for the night, he will sit you on his lap and wipe your face from any remaining makeup or dust/dirt. He loves how no matter how gentle his swipes are, your cheeks always cave in and squish you lips into a pout.
° Finds your plump belly absolutely adorable, constantly wrapping his arms around your stomach. Seungmin doesn't like how insecure you are about your body, so hugging you is another way for him to express how beautiful he thinks you are.
° Whenever he is on his phone or reading, you will block his veiw with a pout. He always replies by squishing your cheeks and pulling you in for a sweet but short kiss. When you feel satisfied enough with his kisses, you'll go back to whatever you were doing.
° Doesn't bother talking to idiots, instead he worries about you and makes sure you aren't listening to those stupid assholes. If someone won't stop picking on you he'll tell them off, but if they back off after a while he will just stay and confort you instead.
"They don't know what they are talking about, you are amazing and they are just crazy hateful people."
Jeongin
° Thought you were the most precious girl he has ever witnessed, and his love for you only grew over time. Even though you denied that someone so attractive like a kpop idol could like you, he proved you to be 100% wrong.
° His favorite thing on you is one of his Tshirts on you, because they fit your curves perfectly but also look loose due to the height difference. If you want cuddles immediately, simply wear oen of his shirts.
° Gets flustered whenever you wear a button up, since the gaps between the buttons are always opened slightly to reveal your bra. But he is too sweet and shy to ever point it out to you, because he doesn't want to embarrass you.
° Helps you with chafing burns, always feeling bad that you get them so easily. But you reassure him that it doesn't hurt overly bad, but that won't stop him from applying lotion to the burns on the inside your thighs.
° Isn't the type to get up in someone's face and threaten them, but will instead reply in sarcasm when someone insults you. Telling them to get a life and not to bring someone down to try and get their anger out. You are amused by your soft boyfriend's sarcasm.
"They are just trash, don't think about what they said for one second. You are stunning and the best girlfriend on earth."

masterlist.
As you were the princess of one of the most well-know palaces, a lot of weight was put on your shoulders. The thought of being next in line to the throne, along with the absolutely tiring schoolwork and boring schedules always filled your head as you waited for the next day to roll around.
It sometimes felt like you were forced into that life. But your head always perked up when you were asked first about a decision.
“Y/N, darling.” Your mother called your name as she sat at the dinner table.
“Yes Mother?” Making your way to the dining room from the living room, you rested your arms on the chair in front of your mom. You looked at her, eyebrows furrowing as you questioned her sudden ask of your presence.
She started with a sigh and you could tell she was stressed, her hand sparkling with accessories holding close to her head. Her eyes looked up from the papers in her other hand and to you. “Oh, there you are. I need your help with something.”
Your ears perked up as you looked away from her shining decorations and nodded. “Okay, what is it?” You leaned in to look at the paper that was in her hand. It had different names written on it, next to them were their skills.
But when did Mom get the time to do this?
“Well, we’re trying to get a new royal guard since one had to step out due to a finding of their criminal record, remember?” She queried, looking up at you from the paper.
Whipping away from your thoughts, you nodded. “Yeah, I do. But why so sudden? I’m pretty sure we don’t have to get a new guard.. we had enough already.” You said with a soft sigh. Your palace had originally had more than ten guards but due to the hardships the job gave, they had resigned. Now you only had five
“Y/N,” your mother stopped you, “we’ve talked about this. You know that your coronation is coming and when that day comes, you know how the crime rate will be.” There she goes again, talking about your coronation. “I would hate to have you suffer like your grandfather on his crowning.”
Her statement was blunt but it made sense to you. You made a small frown and nodded. “Yes Mother.” You took the papers out of her hand and made your way out of the dining room.
Your mom could tell you were upset about the conversation so in a small cheer she said, “I love you.”
“Love you too.” Your response short as you walked out of the dining room and back to your room.
On your way, your friendly chef Felix smiled at you, walking past saying, “Good morning, Your Highness.” You did a small head bow, but deeply wondered why he was being so formal. He wasn’t that much older than you, and he normally talked to you on friendly terms. Shaking the thought away, you continued back to your room.
But just like with Felix, whenever you would see one of the kind workers throughout the palace on the way to your room, they would always greet you with polite nonsense like: “Good day, Your Highness,” “Hello, Your Highness,” and “Wonderful weather we’re having, Your Highness!” It only broke you when you saw your older brother Seungmin reply, “Hey, Your Highness.” It was still in his joking tone but it was so chilling that you had to get out of there.
You ran out of the palace as a whole and decided to chill by the pool.
Sighing to yourself, you looked at the pool and tried to calm yourself. You were deeply confused why they had all responded like that. You weren’t even close to becoming the queen. You had thought it was all too much for you, like all of a sudden you were an adult. But it didn’t feel like it.
“What’s wrong, your Highness?” Chan said after seeing your distressed manner as you sat on the steps.
“Oh god, not you too Chan!” You buried your face in your hands.
He laughed heartily and soon went to sit down next to you. “Sorry, it was Seungmin. He asked me to say that to you since I was in debt to him for a while.” Looking over to you, Chan saw your sad expression.
He didn’t say anything for a while, his thoughts calculating as he thought of what to say to you. “You know, I probably have no say in this but the whole crowning doesn’t seem too bad.”
Your head whipped around to him. Confusion furrowing your eyebrows caused you to respond, “How can you say that? Everyone’s been treating me like I’m the Queen already..”
Chan laughed a bit, but not as happy as his last. It contained remorse for you. “Well I can tell you as a royal guard that they’re only doing this to get you ready for another year.” His statement softened to a whisper and covered his mouth near the more important end of his sentence.
Letting out a chuckle of unbelief, you crossed your arms. “How could they- Never mind that.” You stopped yourself before sighing and then looking at Chan. “Thanks for telling me, Chan. I swear, you’re one of the only guards I can trust.” You said jokingly, a soft smile making its way onto your lips.
A smile creeped up on his face too, showing his pure pleasure in seeing you smile again. “No problem, your Highness.” Chan finally said with a fake bow.
“Oh, stop it.” You slapped his shoulder in an attempt to get him to stop embarrassing you any further.
Chan laughed again, his serotonin boosting laugh making you laugh with him. With another smile and a two-finger salute, he said, “Alright, duty calls. See you later, Y/N!” He dashed off and started to make his way back into the palace.
“Ok, bye!” But by the time you responded, he was already gone.
He had always been so good to you. Always doing his best to make you feel better. Still, he had no real idea what you truly felt.
...
After a while of laying on your bed while reading a book, you looked at your nightstand. Those terrible papers seemed to look right back at you. With a sigh, you decided to take the time to look at the papers your mother had given to you that morning.
The candidates were.. okay. Your mind was still frazzled from the day’s events and soon after 15 minutes of looking, you came to the last page. You had skimmed over his credentials but when you came across his hobbies, you found yourself leaning into the paper.
Hobbies: reading, singing, & archery.
A-Archery? Were you reading it right? No matter how many times you read it, it still read the same thing. You had heard about it before, when your mother and father had left to go to a match with friends from another kingdom. It had always made you wonder what it was like, and seeing a candidate with that as a hobby made you feel inclined to approve his submission.
No photos or further reading needed, you put a check next to his name and went to put it in your parents’ room.
On your way back to yours, you were stopped by Seungmin. He leaned against the wall, arms crossed and his right leg crossed over the other. You shrugged, wordlessly saying, “What do you want?”
“Was that the guard slip?” He soon asked, a chuckle coming with the end of his question.
With a nod you replied, “Yep. Hopefully Mom doesn’t scold me for who I chose.” You continued to walk to bed with the words, “It was the archer, by the way,” leaving your lips. You had known Seungmin had seen the papers before they were given to you, so of course he had asked.
Seungmin’s small giggle turned into a happy laugh, but you couldn’t tell what for. A wave of relief came upon you as he called, “You’re so predictable. I knew you’d pick that one!”
You walked to your room that night to your older brother’s laughs echoing in the main hall.
It had been about two weeks since you had made the final mark on those papers but fortunately, your mother hadn’t said anything about it. Today was the day you were going to greet what seemed in your mind as the kind archer fellow. You were somewhat nervous, for reasons you knew.
As you got ready in your room to finally meet the archer, a soft sigh escaped you. Was it the right choice? Sure, knowing how to do archery was unique but you barely looked at any more of his credentials, so it made it hard to truly know him. You chose to shake the thought off for now and make your way to the front of the palace.
...
“I can’t wait to see who you chose!” Your mother said with happiness in her tone, hands clasped in excitement. She looked over to you, and was concerned as to why you were so quiet. “Something the matter?” She asked.
Your single head shake was enough for a response and your eyes kept looking out for the carriage the guard would come in. If you had to be honest, you just wanted to see what this guy looked like.
And just as you would have it, the clopping of the carriage came along the cobblestone. You felt your heart race as you heard the gates open for his arrival. And there he was, walking up to your family politely with his hands behind his back.
His appearance though, was much more ethereal. Eyes of a dark brown color and long hair that you didn’t see often, all while wearing a soft smile. His clothes were both sleek and looked comfortable. You could tell you were staring for too long so you decided to get your eyes off him with a small head bow. In response, he did the same.
“It’s nice to meet you. I hope I can serve you well.” He said, his soft voice causing you to look up with a kind smile.
Your father held out a hand for the boy to shake and replied, “Of course. We’re happy to have you..?” His reply became more of a prompt for his name.
“Ah, Hyunjin. Hwang Hyunjin.” He replied happily as he took your father’s hand and shook it. His soft smile had become an eager one, as if he was really excited for his new job. The boy who was apparently named Hyunjin looked from your father to you and did a small head bow to you. “Nice to meet you, Princess. Hopefully we can be friends.” His expression softened. “And hopefully I can serve you well.” He continued, his eyes crinkling as his smile widened.
“Of course, same to you.” You replied, voice soft after being out of focus. From the start, you knew that he was kind but the fact he even acknowledged you kindly made you smile.
Your mother broke up your kind exchange by cutting in, “Well now that introductions are over, we can get you inside and talk a bit more. It’s a bit humid out here.” A posh laugh came with her statement as Hyunjin mouthed “Of course” and you all went into the palace.
After two of your other guards opened the palaces’ doors, you could hear a gasp come from Hyunjin. He soon exclaimed, “Wow.. this place is huge..,” voice drifting at the end of his sentence. He seemed like an excited puppy, eager to look more around the place. To get his attention, you let out in a small whisper, “Excuse me, it’s this way!”
He turned around and covered his mouth, obviously embarrassed. “Sorry!” His voice low in a whisper to match yours.
You and Hyunjin soon caught up with your family in the drawing room, both acting like you had been there instead of staying behind in the great hall. Almost on queue, your father turned to you with a smile. “Ah yes, now that we’re here, we can talk more on the agreement.” Your father’s tone was soft but still had the power of a king.
“Yes, Your Highness.” Hyunjin said, eyes burning with confidence.
Your mother smiled. “Then let’s get to it!” She said, taking out some more papers, probably for him to sign.
...
Though it took what felt like a few hours, Hyunjin was ready to take the oath. What you noticed during the long talk and signing was that he was very active. Your mom mumbled a few things he had done to get to where he was now, including training for a year and a half at a camp. It seemed like he desperately wanted to get away from his normal life and land a better job at the palace, though it was harder than most. It made you wonder..
Your thoughts were taken to a pause as your father said, “Alright, now that you’re done signing, you can take the oath.”
Hyunjin nodded as his smiling face was replaced with a serious one. When you looked down at his hands, you saw his left closed in a tight fist. It soon loosened as he rose his right hand like your father told him to not long after.
“Repeat after me,” your father said firmly, his right hand raised as well, “I, Hwang Hyunjin, do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Royal Family, their heirs and successors, according to law.”
He soon repeated before taking a deep breath, “I, Hwang Hyunjin, do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Royal Family, their heirs and successors, according to law.” His hard expression soon softened when he earned an accepting nod from the king.
“And now, you’re officially a part of the royal guard.” Your father cheered, a raised curve you knew was a smile coming to his face. Though he didn’t show it much, you could always tell the difference between his capitalist smile and his genuine one. Hyunjin seemed to know too, as he brought him in for a hug.
“Wow, thank you so much for this opportunity!” He let go and then shook the king’s hand. “I promise I won’t let you down.” He said in a voice filled with gratitude. The king let out a hearty laugh at Hyunjin’s peppy attitude and nodded.
“Happy to know you’re excited.” He soon said. Your mother’s mouth turned into a smile, soon turning to you with a brighter one. The pleasant feeling in the room made you smile back.
Hyunjin looked to you and remarked with an assuring smile, “I’ll protect you for real, now.” His statement made you burst laughing, still more calm than your normal laugh as to not expose yourself. “I know you’ll do well, Hyunjin.” You replied.
“Thank you, princess.”
You woke up the next morning to the sun coming through the window. Surprisingly, none of the maids or butlers was there to escort you out of your room. Making your way down the stairs and then the long hallway, you started to make your way to the kitchen to start to make breakfast yourself.
You usually weren’t allowed to when your parents weren’t around because they entrusted the chefs to cook every meal. Though you didn’t mind them cooking for you, you always like to cook by yourself. Unfortunately, the kind chef Felix walked in as you took out some flour.
“Ah, your Highness.” He did a small head bow with his bright smile. His formal behavior made you a bit uncomfortable. “Good morning.”
You still mustered a smile. “Good morning, Felix. It’s good to see you.” Your statement was true despite you knowing he would be making breakfast for you.
“Y/N, don’t worry. I’ll let you make breakfast for yourself. You always look so eager when you see me cooking anyway.” Felix let out in a chuckle. His laughter brought a happier smile to your face.
“Thank you, Felix.” You replied while bringing him in for a hug. He happily hugged you back, his warm hug made you smile.
You decide to ask him, “Hey, why do you keep calling me “Your Highness”? Have we drifted?” Your tone was soft, and Felix responded with a shaking of his head.
“No, of course not Y/N! It’s just.. the king and queen have been wanting to prepare you for the life you’re going to have in a couple years. So I’ve been listening to their wishes. But don’t worry,” Felix let go of you and held you by your shoulders, looking at you with caring eyes, “we’re still friends.” His bright smile reached his eyes.
“Well that’s good! I got a little worried.” You replied with a laugh.
After clearing up the situation, you started to make your breakfast, every now and then having Felix help you. Who would’ve known that making french toast and fluffy eggs would be harder than you thought?
...
The happy feeling you had soon drifted with your parents came back home. You had prepared yourself for this, but you really hadn’t wanted to.
As they walked in, they appeared with your “destined prince,” as your mom called him when you were a kid. You made eye contact with him immediately as a rush of a hurt came through you.
Prince Minho of the Cha family, the future husband of your dreams. (but was he?)
It wasn’t like you hated Minho, he was fine. Charming looks, a great personality. He even loved animals and had 2 dogs of his own. You just weren’t ready yet. But though you wanted to, you couldn’t tell him. If you had known sooner that the marriage decision had been made when you were kids, you would’ve declined already.
Minho walked up to you with a soft smile. “My darling Y/N. I haven’t seen you in ages.” You smiled shyly at his pet name. “You still look as cute as ever.” His eyes stared into yours longingly.
“It’s good to see you too, Minho.” You took his hands and nodded. Still, you couldn’t shake the sorry feeling in your chest. It felt like you were playing with him.
Your mother interrupted your soft exchange with a clearing of her throat. “Alright, lovebirds, let’s get moving to the ballroom. You two,” she said pointing at you and Minho, “need to practice dancing together.”
Minho smiled at your parents and then at you. “Don’t worry. I won’t step on your feet.” You chuckled at his joke and made your way to the ballroom.
...
When you got there, you saw Hyunjin from the other side of the ballroom standing against the wall with his hands behind his back. He smiled to you as a soft greeting and you smiled back as a reply.
“Hyunjin,” your mother called to him, “do you mind turning on the gramophone and putting on the record for me?”
The smiling guard nodded, “Of course, your Highness.” He walked over to the gramophone that was on the coffee table and put in the record. After glancing at you and Minho for a second, he went back to the wall he was at before.
The music from the gramophone was somber, a soft piano piece. You had heard it many times when you were younger. It brought back memories and a soft smile to your face.
You slowly waltzed with Minho, hands interlocked. Minho kept eye contact with you, his eyes sparkling happily. You traveled along the room with him, careful with each step as the music flowed. The song came to an end as Minho took your hand and kissed it.
“You danced wonderfully, Y/N.” He said with a soft tone.
Your smile toward Minho was sincere, you nodded happily. “Thank you, Minho. You didn’t do half bad either.” You joked.
He let out a little chuckle and linked arms with you. Making eye contact with your mother, he asked, “Do you mind if I have lunch with her, my lady?”
“No, of course not,” she shook her head with a smile, “I don’t mind at all. We wanted you to have lunch together, anyways.”
“Thank you.” Minho looked at you once again and started to walk out of the ballroom.
You looked back to Hyunjin who stood there with a smile you couldn’t quite place. You gave him a quick beam, making him nod to cheer you up. Before you could mouth “thank you”, Minho walked out of the door with his princely smile and you.
“I don’t get you sometimes.” Seungmin shook his head at you, arms crossed.
“What do you mean?” You replied innocently. Clearly, judging by the look on your brother’s face, he was talking about your boring lunch with Minho.
Seungmin sighed; it was full of annoyance. “You know exactly what I mean!”
You still pretended to be curious as to what he meant so you shrugged.
“Why did you come from lunch with Minho so.. normal? Usually when people have a meeting with someone they really like, they can’t think of anything else but that person. But you.. you seem fine! Almost too fine.” He put a hand on your shoulder. “Do you really not feel that way for him?” He finally asked.
You looked up into Seungmin’s eyes. You couldn’t find it in yourself to lie to him. “I-I’m just not ready yet.” You replied, your voice soft. “I thought you knew that.”
“I do know. I’m not mad at you, I just don’t get you. This is a big opportunity and Mom’s gonna be upset with you, I’m just telling you now.” Your older brother replied.
“I know she is.. Minho’s a good guy, it’s just I don’t think I could marry him, or anyone for that matter. Not right now, anyway.”
Seungmin let out a sigh again. He was done nudging an answer out if you. “Alright, just don’t be so indecisive for too long. It’s all in your hands.” He began to walk out of the room but stopped himself. “Remember that you have to talk with Mom at 3, okay?” His smile was soft as he continued to walk.
You watched him walk out of the room, leaving you at the table. You grunted softly and put your hands over your eyes. I need to get some fresh air.. your thoughts festered.
...
Again, you found yourself outside by the pool as a way to calm down. You had understood what Seungmin meant and that he was just looking out for you, but you couldn’t stop thinking about it..
“Do you really not feel that way for him?”
You tried to shake off the feeling by continuing to look into the pool and soon threw water towards your face. When you went for another splash to wake yourself up, you heard someone walk up to where you sat and soon the voice that belonged to it:
“I hate to be interrupting something but are you okay, Your Highness?” It was Hyunjin. You looked up at him with your chlorine drenched face and smiled.
“Yeah, I’m fine! No need to worry!” You replied with a small laugh. “Just trying to calm my nerves..” Looking up at him again, you saw his hand holding out a handkerchief.
Hyunjin smiled. “Here. I think you need it.” He chuckled.
You were surprised at his kindness and took the handkerchief, a soft smile coming to your face. “Thank you.” Taking his hand to get up, you met eyes with him. Something about seeing him so close made you feel kind of nervous, even though you weren’t the one with the new job. Still, he made you feel comfortable. Hyunjin was doing his job as a guard right.
Hyunjin tried to break the silence. “So, care to explain what you’re doing out here?” He asked curiously.
“Well,” you started, “I usually come here to calm myself down. Seeing the water settles me.”
“Oh, I see..” He didn’t want to pry on what could have been messing with your emotions and decided to try and keep conversation. “Whenever I get stressed, I like to go out and shoot some arrows. It feels good to just shoot without the worry of doing wrong.”
You looked at him, your eyebrows furrowed, as you asked, “So then, what do you do? Do you just.. shoot?”
Hyunjin laughed at your question, his smile reaching his eyes. “Yeah, pretty much! Of course, still with the skills I’ve learned. I just try not to be fancy with it.”
“Okay.. I think I get it.” You replied to him, your voice drifting in volume. “Do you mind showing me some of the “fancy work,” mayhaps?” You looked up at him with a small smirk.
“If the Princess allows it.” Hyunjin replied; your nodding seemed to be a yes. “Alright then, let’s go to the fields. The King let me set up some materials over there.”
After walking to the fields, your eyes widened when you saw the archery setting. Bows and arrows on their own table, targets set at different ranges. It was like you had heard of before from Chan. You were excited to see how it really looked in person; seeing archery was different than hearing about it.
Hyunjin bent down to pick up one of the bows and an arrow from the table. He looked back at you and smiled. “I’ll shoot to the second nearest one so you can see it.” His voice lifted near the end of his sentence and his smile matched his happy tone. As he adjusted his form, he took a deep breath. He lifted the bow and arrow and closed his right eye, trying to get the best shot. You watched his smile turn into a serious straight face as he got a confident glint in his eye. Hyunjin soon released the arrow and watched it hit the target he had been aiming for.
“Wait a second,” you said, looking at the target, “you got it straight in the middle!”
He nodded and held the bow in his hands. “It’s like I told you! I still use the skills I’ve learned.” Hyunjin smiled at you again and handed you the bow.
“What is it? Why are you giving me-“ He stopped your question and put an arrow in your free hand.
“Don’t worry, I’m just gonna help you.” His voice was soft as he adjusted your hand placement and your angle. You ignored the hot feeling in your cheeks, but you were thankful for his help.
“Okay,” Hyunjin continued, “now close your right eye, since that’s the hand you’ll be shooting with.” You listened to his words and closed your eye. “Now just hold back your right arm. Only shoot when you’re ready.” You strengthened your grip and almost forgot that Hyunjin was there. Straightening your gaze like he had done before, you finally let go of the arrow. Your eyes closed immediately as you did.
Your worries wavered away as you heard Hyunjin’s laugh. “You did good for your first try! Come on, open your eyes and look. I promise you actually got a hit on the target.” As you opened your eyes, you saw the target with the arrow on the third ring. You looked at him and smiled.
“It’s okay, Princess,” he chuckled, “The third ring is good enough.”
“Thank you, Hyunjin.” You replied. His laugh made you laugh along with him. “I’m surprised that you even wanted to show me! So thank you very much for the lesson.”
He shook his hands around in a sporadic manner. “Don’t worry, it’s not a problem.”
You could tell that he really was happy to teach you and that his smile was genuine. A rush of shock ran over you as you realized how late it was. “Oh no... I totally forgot that I had to meet with my mom today.” Your eyes were sorry as you said, “Please forgive me for leaving so suddenly, I have a meeting and I can’t stay too long. I’m really sorry, Hyunjin.” You did a head bow as an apology.
“Please don’t bow to me, Princess Y/N! If you need to leave, it’s okay. Feel free to go! I-I wouldn’t want to keep you any longer.” Hyunjin’s words were a jumble, he couldn’t figure out what he wanted to say to you. Especially after your politeness towards him.
You giggled a bit at his flustered behavior. “Alright, see you later! Thanks again for the archery lesson!”
Hyunjin watched as you dashed off into the distance, probably going to the castle. There was a pleasant feeling in his chest. He was glad that he could have a good time with even a Princess. But he couldn’t figure out what it was about you that made him smile so much to himself... was it your attitude? Your kindness? Maybe he was thinking too much about it.
“Oh hey Hyunjin!” A familiar voice greeted him. Hyunjin turned around and saw Chan standing there with his bright smile. “What are you doing out here? Doing some archery?” Chan referred to the setup in front of them.
“Yeah! I even got to give Princess Y/N a small lesson. With her permission, of course.” Hyunjin replied.
Chan was intrigued as his mouth formed a small ‘o’. “Oh, I see. That’s good, I’m glad she’s trying new things.” He smiled again.
Hyunjin nodded happily. He glanced to the table that had the bows and arrows on them and noticed there were only two bows instead of the three that were there before. “Oh, I guess she accidentally took one of the bows with her. She was kind of in a rush.”
“That makes sense. She doesn’t like to make the Queen upset over simple things like being late.” Chan patted Hyunjin’s shoulder. “Don’t worry too much, she’ll probably be able to give it to you later.”
“Yeah..” He started to walk with Chan back into the castle.
“Hey,” Chan said quickly, “Do you think I could learn some archery skills from you, too? I can teach you how to handle and fight with a sword in exchange.”
Hyunjin chuckled. “Sure, I’ve been needing to get better at that, anyway.”
...
You had met with your mother that day to talk about the harvest festival taking place in a few days. It was the pride of your kingdom; the small amount of time that most ‘regulars’ could come into the castle to join in games, music, and dancing. You looked across the table at your mother with confusion in your brows when she told you that you were going to be greeting people for most of the festival.
“What? What do you mean? That’s what you and Father usually do.” You retorted.
Your mother sighed. “Yes, I know. It’s different but it’s okay! Instead of us, it’ll be you and Minho. That’s why you two are doing the ending dance instead of your father and I. And then you can take the prized crown alongside Minho.”
You found her smile too pleasant. It made you feel betrayed that she would tell you so early, as if she knew you would’ve tried to leave. “But.. why didn’t you tell me earlier? I’m still just a young princess, you know.”
“Don’t play that game with me. Why else would I have you practice with Minho beforehand? Be reasonable and stop arguing with your mother.” She said plainly.
“Fine, I guess I have to do it.” Her tone made you feel overpowered, like whatever you would’ve said wouldn’t have mattered anyway. “Thank you for telling me, Mother. I hope I can greet everyone well.”
She laid a hand on your cheek and smiled at you. “That’s my girl. I’m going to pick out the best dress and accessories for you, I promise. You’ll wear the crown greatly.”
“Thank you,” you told her again before you left. All you wanted to do is get to your room, the one place you could let your emotions out. At this point, you didn’t want to go to the harvest festival at all. You jumped on the bed at stayed there for a few hours.
You hadn’t wanted to do much around the castle the next few days. Your mother and father had decided to let you do what you wanted to do; to be by yourself. Your father came to you yesterday to reassure you that you could do it, just for one night.
Though you didn’t respond at all, you remember him talking about sudden threats that had come around every harvest festival. All he wanted was for you to be safe, and he knew that throwing you into it was not the best decision. Your father just knew in his heart that you would do well, like he and your mother did.
You decided to get up after two sluggish days. You looked outside of the window and then at the clock. “I guess I’ll have to really do it tomorrow.” You mumbled.
Maybe, just maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.
...
As you sat at the mirror getting ready for the festival, you practiced your smile. You even tried different ones to change it up and give your face a rest. One of your designers laughed.
“What are you doing, Princess Y/N? You look so funny.” She said, still chuckling.
You looked back to her and retorted, “I’m practicing my smile for the festival. Father says not to look too dull.”
“Well trust me,” she laughed, “the king will be surprised and probably pleased.” You shared a smile with her but she quickly faced your head towards the mirror. “Now face forward. I need to finish your makeup in 30 minutes.”
Before you knew it, you were walking down the spiraling staircase to the main floor. You felt stiff due to the makeup and extravagant light red dress, but you had to admit that you looked good. When you got down, you saw Minho standing there in his tuxedo. It was a nice red with white accents. The red matched your own.
You smiled as you came to him, deciding to be as nice as you could to him that day. “You look so nice today. Your courters dressed you well.” You remarked.
“Thank you, Y/N. You look splendid.” Minho replied as he went for a kiss on your hand, as he usually did.
“Let’s get going, okay? The gates open in a few minutes!”
He beamed at your enthusiasm and took a tight hold on your hand. “Of course.”
...
For the past two hours at the harvest festival, you had been stuck greeting every single person who had stepped through the door. You were glad to see all of your citizens but while all of them moved on from the line and had fun, you were still stuck at the door. And to make matters worse, Minho held onto your hand like it was life or death.
All of a sudden, the music playing from the ballroom stopped. You remembered it from before.
“Now, we’ll stop the dancing for a few minutes to have a special couple dance together.” Your father’s voice was clear from the ballroom.
Minho looked at you. “I guess that’s us.” He walked with you, hand in hand, to the ballroom.
“And it’s not just any couple. It’s our very own junior fiancés!” Your mother added as you and Minho walked in. All of the citizens clapped and cheered for you, yet only you were surprised by the term ‘fiancé’.
Soon, you and Minho were the center of attention. All of everyone’s eyes were on you two. Minho tried to assure you that everything would be okay with his eyes, as if he could tell that you were worried.
You must’ve spaced out; the music started playing again. A smile came back to you as you remembered the song. You waltzed with him like you had practiced before, moving your way across the floor. Minho’s glimmering eyes showed a deep effect of love towards you. You tried your best to ignore how close he was until the end of the song.
The citizens clapped for your shared dance. You smiled, you must’ve done it well. “Guess we didn’t do too bad, huh?” You said quietly.
Minho placed a hand on your cheek and surprised you and everyone else in the ballroom; he kissed the other one. You didn’t know why he would’ve done it so passionately, it wasn’t like how you had practiced. Your feelings were unsure.
What’s going on? Is this okay? Why do I feel like this?
You pulled away after a few seconds of thinking. Backing away, you ran out with a small mumble, “I’m sorry.”
Your hands were clammy. You felt like you hadn’t drank water in days. The butterflies in your stomach seemed to only get worse. You needed to get out of there. No, you needed to get anywhere but there. Your thoughts were a giant mess as you thought of where to go. Thinking of leaving the castle was already a no, but where else could you-
“Ah!” You let out after bumping into a familiar figure in the main hall.
Hyunjin caught you. “Careful there, princess. You remember what the King and Queen said, hm?” He said, keeping your eye contact. “You should be in the ballroom.” Leaning over your shoulder to whisper those few words.
“I know. It’s just..” Steps could be heard down the hall along with your mother’s calls for you. You glanced back to him. Your thoughts ran dry, and you did the only thing you thought to do. “Kiss me.”
“Princess Y/N-“
“I said kiss me.” You didn’t know where the straightforwardness was coming from but what would happen was unexpected.
Hyunjin leaned in for a kiss on your lips and closed his eyes. You had enjoyed it as you both moved swiftly into the room next to you. He had held onto your head tightly as he continued to kiss you.
When you both let go, you smiled. You couldn’t help but giggle a bit. “You’re a good kisser, Guard Hwang.”
“There’s no need to call me that, Princess Y/N.” He shook his head with a smile, still a little shocked that he kissed the princess in the first place. “But I have a question.”
You looked at him with curious eyes. “What is it?” You asked.
“Why did you come sprinting down there? And I understand that it might be hard to talk about.” Hyunjin replied softly.
“Well, you remember the prince I was dancing with that day, correct?” Hyunjin nodded at your question. “Basically we did the same dance at the festival today. But Minho changed things up and kissed me on the cheek. I didn’t know what to do, I was just confused..” Your voice fell to a quieter level.
Hyunjin patted your back and sat you down on the bed in the room. “Don’t worry about him, it’s okay. He should’ve known that you wouldn’t have liked it as much as he would’ve.”
You shared a pleasant smile with Hyunjin as he continued to pat your back. You were glad that someone was there to uplift you.
The lovely feeling in the room soon disappeared when yells of “intruder” and “thief” came upon Hyunjin’s and your ears from outside the room. You looked at him worried but he shook his head.
“Stay here, okay? I’m still supposed to be on post.” Hyunjin stated.
As Hyunjin walked out of the room and down the hall, he kept a serious face. His eyes glanced around as if he could feel someone else’s presence was there. He slowly got the bow — one of the secondary ones from your small lesson — off of him and slowed his pace.
“You guys are very bad at hiding.” He mumbled. He easily could see one of the culprits hiding behind a pillar in a mirror right across. Without any hesitation, he lifted the bow and strengthened his grip on the arrow and shot for the mirror instead.
The man screamed and jumped out of the way. He started to shake on the floor. Hyunjin sighed as he walked up to the man and held him by his collar. “I’m sorry sir. I don’t care what sob story you give me, duty calls. I have to take you to the King for intruding.” He flipped the man over and stood up with him, soon grabbing his wrists from behind and placing them over each other.
“Let’s go.” Hyunjin’s tone made the guilty culprit start walking with his head down.
“You do know that it’s not just me, right?” said the man.
“Well of course. There’s never just one.” Hyunjin replied quickly.
The man sighed as if he was immediately sorry. “I’m very sorry for what might happen to the kingdom after all of this.”
“There’s no need to apologize to me,” Hyunjin said to the man, “that’s something you need to take up with the King and Queen. Just know that it’s likely that you’ll go to jail for this.”
The man was surprised at how nonchalant Hyunjin was. “Thank you for not being too rough with me.”
“Just doing my job, sir.” Hyunjin said with a small chuckle.
After a few minutes, the intruder and Hyunjin made it to the King in the ballroom. “Here, Your Highness. I’ve caught one of the intruders.”
“Thank you, Guard Hwang. I appreciate it.” The King smiled as he took the culprit to some policemen that were called to the scene. “Here’s one of them!” He called to them.
Hyunjin looked around the ballroom, recognizing the faces he had seen at his post. The citizens murmured worriedly all around. But he could tell that someone was missing.
“Your Highness,” Hyunjin called, “do you mind if I check outside? That culprit over there told me that there’s more than just him.” The king nodded. “Of course, just take another guard with you.” He motioned towards Chan. “Guard Bang, go with Guard Hwang to check outside. If there’s more intruders, just call for more.”
“Yes, Sir.” Chan grabbed his sword and shield in hand. “Alright let’s get going, Hyunjin.”
Hyunjin nodded and the two went out of the castle, soon being met with the slowly setting sky. They looked all around the perimeter of the castle after deciding to split up but after they found nothing, they threw away the plan and searched together.
“Do you think anyone’s actually out here?” Hyunjin whispered to Chan softly.
Chan shrugged at his question. He wasn’t quite sure what could come from searching or not. “Usually there’s more than one when it comes to castle takeovers, so probably. But it’s hard to see with only the moon enlightening us. So try not to worry. The King won’t kill you if no one’s out here.” He tried to lighten up the mood with a chuckle.
“Okay..” Hyunjin mumbled. For a while, only the crunching of the grass under their boots could be heard. They paid close attention to their surroundings.
“S-stop right there!” A voice shouted from behind them, their voice breaking near the end of their scream. Hyunjin and Chan turned around to see the person who owned the voice: Prince Minho with a sword held in front of him. “What are you guards doing out here?”
Chan held his sword in a tight hand. “We should be asking you the same question.”
“I just wanted to get some fresh air. It was a bit congested in there.” Minho’s light laugh had a nod to something else. He had kept one hand behind his back.
“Are you sure about that?” Hyunjin spoke up. “There’s something more to what you’re saying.” His eyes stayed close to the prince’s hidden hand.
“Your Highness,” Chan started, “may I ask you to lower your sword?”
Minho’s face tightened. He didn’t expect this. “O-of course. Of course I can.” His voice shook slightly; he was terrified. He knew they knew. But still, he didn’t lay down his sword. He couldn’t. “Actually.. no. Shouldn’t you be a bit more respectful to your future king? I can do as I please.”
When Minho turned around to leave, Chan pushed his weight onto him and tried to hold him down. “Hyunjin, here!” He held out what the prince had been hiding: the crown. “Go and return it! I’ll take care of this guy.”
“Okay!” Hyunjin ran off and dashed through the castle. He held to a pause when he saw you standing there in the hall. “Princess Y/N.. I think this is yours.”
You held the crown tightly and smiled. “Thank you so much, Hyunjin. I really appreciate it.” You wanted to thank him but the confidence from before came back to you. “Hey, do you have time to dance with a princess such as myself?”
“Well, I think so. I do have to do my job as a guard and stay at my post.” He chuckled. “But of course, Princess.”
You smiled softly and took his hand to lead him into the room you were both in before. “I know the perfect song.” You soon put in the song that gave you pleasure into the gramophone.
Hyunjin took your hand gently and began to waltz with you. His smile was soft on his face as it reached his eyes. The strings in the music led you across the room. You hadn’t wanted your final dance any other way. The song calmed along with your dancing near the end.
“I feel like I’m going to cause you trouble, Princess Y/N.” Hyunjin said, his hand was tenderly clasped with yours.
“I would count it as good trouble, my archer.” You softly replied as you kissed his cheek. As Hyunjin put the crown atop your head, you both laughed. The two of you waltzed in the room for the rest of the night, the sun’s final colors setting behind you through the window.

[16:23] 10th Dec.
Entering the cafe your friend Chan was working at, you sighed contentedly, inhaling the smoky aroma of freshly ground coffee. “I need caffeine like right now.” You slumped against the counter dramatically. “Exams were that bad, huh?” He smiled sympathetically, starting up the espresso machine. “Not bad. Tiring, but not bad. I’m honestly just erasing any memory of them as we speak.” You sighed, propping your chin on your hands. “Well, regardless, I did make you something as a gift for completing those... things that you’re currently forgetting.” “You did? I mean you didn’t have to.” Your eyes lit up though, negating any attempt at masking your excitement and curiosity. “Okay, well I should clarify. It’s nothing big. My professor set us a task to make a playlist for someone, basically for the purpose of getting us to consider the audience that we’re making music for... so I chose you. Just think of it as something to relax to after a long week of exams.” He explained, tone slightly laced with trepidation that you payed no heed to. “Well, I’m flattered that my best friend considered me to be their... muse for this assignment? In fact, I’m super curious as to what songs you put on it. Send it to me tonight and I’ll listen to it!” You grinned, grabbing your coffee and waving as you exited the shop. “Yeah, okay...”
“Don’t spill the flour everywhere!” Your friend, Felix, stressed, pushing the bowl of cookie batter closer to you.
“This whole process would be a lot more fun if we could listen to music, as well.” You rolled your eyes at his hotheadedness. “Hey, you’re the one that wanted to make gingerbread for Chan because of the whole playlist thing, which is highly romantic by the way. Also, we all know what happens when you get distracted while cooking.” He smirked, mixing through the batter. “I’m pretty sure friends can make playlists for their friends. Besides, I have you to help this precarious venture not go sideways.” You flashed him a smile, opening up the playlist and pressing shuffle play, before quickly redirecting your attention to to the cookie trays. All I Want for Christmas Is You blasted out the speakers, you laughed awkwardly as Felix raised his eyebrows pointedly at you. Odd song choice, but okay.
Half an hour later, with Mariah Carey playing on loop for almost 10 times, Felix rubbed his temples,
“Either Chan has an extremely unique sense of humour, or it’s an extreme declaration of his undying love for you.” Parcelling the gingerbread away and neatly tying a bow on top, you looked at him, “It’s weird, though. All the songs on the playlist are the same. I don’t think Chan would do that... it’s probably some network glitch or something like that.” You resolved, thoughts whirling as you cleared the kitchen. You had known Chan since childhood. Growing up, the two of you were as thick as thieves, causing enough grief to last both your parents a lifetime. It wasn’t until late high school that you’d started viewing him differently. Every little act of kindness that he did out of friendship made your heart both burst with happiness and twinge at the fact that he didn’t share the same sentiment as you. You hadn’t ever really considered the possibility of him liking you back. You never wanted to venture into that territory, afraid that you’d get your hopes up and your friendship, something you valued more than anything, would be ruined at the cost of your curiosity and feelings. You considered it as too selfish to even entertain the thought. However, some nights you couldn’t help but daydream on how it would feel to have his soft lips on yours, and to be wrapped in his warm embrace every night. Yet, whenever reality dawned on you, you shut down that part of your brain, reinforcing to yourself that the two of you were only friends. “Hey, Y/N? Sorry to interrupt whatever internal monologue you’re having but I’m going to leave now. Regarding the Chan situation, I’m not telling you to read into it too much, but considering Chan, I doubt it was just a joke.” Felix gave you a tight hug, snapping you out of your reverie. Sighing, you shut off the speaker, heading to your bed, your thoughts provoking as you tossed and turned, unable to drift off.
[18:39] 12 Dec. You had actively avoided the cafe and Chan over the last few days, fleeting texts often with one worded answers being the only form of communication between the two of you until you had sort of wrapped your head around the whole playlist situation. You knew it was bad to keep Chan in the dark like that, but you weren’t ready to see him, regardless of what his reasoning was. It wasn’t until Felix had forced you out of the house to give him the gingerbread you had baked that you had to face your fears and him. The door jingled as you stepped into the place, Chan in the same place you last saw him, humming to, wow, he really likes this song, none other than All I Want for Christmas Is You as he wiped down the counter, “Sorry, we’re closed.” He called out, not glancing up as you approached. “You must really love Mariah Carey.” You raised your eyebrows at him as he glanced up at you, startled, “Y/N? You’re alive?” “No. I’m the ghost of christmas past... Of course I am. I came bearing gifts. Particularly Christmas ones since you’re going home tomorrow.” You placed the gift bag in his arms, avoiding his gaze. “Thank you.” He said quietly, putting the bag to the side. “So, about the playlist—“ You both started. He stopped as you continued. “Was it a joke?” You blurted out, silence pursuing as Mariah Carey belted in the background. Santa won't you bring me The one I really need Won't you please bring my baby to me “This is really poor choice of music... anyway. Look, Y/N, you’re my best friend.” Your heart twinged in disappointment as your throat tightened, casting your burning eyes to the ground. He grabbed your hands, “but... it wasn’t a joke. I literally put 100 copies of All I Want for Christmas Is You in a playlist to try and articulate my feelings for you.” “Wait... so you were hitting on me?” You questioned, looking up, incredulous. “I mean. Yeah.” He shrugged his shoulders. “Cool cool cool cool cool.” You stared at each other for a while, eyebrows raised. You surged forward, pressing a quick kiss on his lips, as he gaped at you in shock. “You mean you...” “I don’t know about you, but I don’t go around kissing randoms after they declare their undying love for me, unless I like them too.” He pulled you close to him, his lips moving tenderly moving against yours. Time came to a standstill, the music distantly playing in your mind as you wrapped your arms around his neck, the two of you blissfully enjoying each other’s company. You pulled apart, breathing heavily as a smile spread on both your faces, laughing softly. “You know... your wish did come true.” You remarked. “Wish?” He tilted his head, questioning. “All you want for Christmas is... you know...” You gestured to yourself, as he facepalmed, laughing, “I guess you’re right. All I’ve wanted for Christmas is you.”
+bonus - high-key crack ((because Felix would never ever do this)) this is lowkey inspired by Chan’s Room: Ep. 69! Watching your silhouettes behind the tinted windows of the cafe lean in to kiss, Felix scrambled out of the car, eyes wide in horror as realisation dawned on him. “No! This can’t be happening! My plan...” He fell to his knees on the sidewalk, his upset tone echoing throughout the almost deserted street. He was in turmoil. He had been the one to orchestrate this whole thing - 100 copies of the same Mariah Carey song on a playlist, even with the concept of a playlist, he was sure you would hate it. However, what he didn’t account for... was that the two of you had feelings for each other. His heart twinged enviously at the possibility of Chan sharing all the pick-up lines customers (cough cough stays) had used on him throughout his day on you instead of Felix. He had to do something about this. This wasn’t the end for platonic Chanlix. He’d get his pick-up lines back.

Okay, wow, had to make three parts for just the Youtube songs, that’s crazy. But here I am. Three posts for these. I think this one has 6 songs? Yea, Happy, Alien, Zone, You Were Beautiful, If It Is You, Zombie.
As far as I can tell, that’s it for the SKZ Player and SKZ Record songs, so if I missed anything and you’re reading this, let me know, lol.
Part 1 and Part 2
Personal Favorites (or songs I would play over and over in my playlist)
You Were Beautiful by Seungmin (Day6 Cover) - This is my favorite Seungmin cover. He sounds stunning here (but when doesn’t he, really?) and it’s a great song. It’s not a song I’d usually listen to, but I’m still putting it in this list.
Alien by Han - I swear I don’t go into these lists determined to praise Han Jisung, I promise. But he’s so good, so fucking good, at what he does. His songs make me feel things, and it’s so good. I think he said he wrote this one about the feeling he had back when he was training and going to school? Or something like that. That he doesn’t necessarily feel like this now? (I can’t find this anywhere now, so I just simply don’t know if it was something he said or if I’m imagining it) I can’t remember exactly. But like, it’s still so relatable either way. I genuinely hope that he continues to do this for the rest of his life. I hope that he continues to write these amazing songs and putting out these beautiful lyrics for as long as he possibly can.
Zone by 3RACHA - Okay, I have thoughts. One, this is from like, 2018, right? Because they look so small here. But that aside, they also kind of look like they are trying so hard to be tough, but they just haven’t quite achieved that look yet (don’t worry, they get there). And I also want to say that, while they should amazing here, they have improved so much from this song, it’s insane. HOWEVER. Despite all that, I love it. Of course I do. Love Bang Chan here. Love Changbin’s rap. Love that Han sounds like 2 or 3 different people. It’s great.
Zombie by Han and Seungmin (Day6 Cover) - That chorus! But yea, these two is such a great combo, I mentioned that last time. I love them. Almost missed this one because it looks like a new release and it wasn’t on the playlist I was using to keep track. But I’m glad I didn’t, because it’s so good. I use this word a lot, but it’s stunning. I’m in love with the chorus, all of it.
Songs that are fantastic and wonderful, but just aren’t my top favorites
Happy by Han - Every time I put a song by Jisung anywhere that isn’t the top list, I am in shock. But here we are. It’s a really great song, he sounds great on it. But I am not currently in a place where I can just deal with songs like this, for personal reasons. Some songs are fine, some hit different, and since it’s a Han Jisung song, it hits different. And of course, as always, the lyrics are fantastic. He’s so good at what he does.
Songs that probably wouldn’t get a lot of play on my playlist but are still great songs because these boys are very talented
If It Is You by I.N. (Cover) - I legitimately feel bad for putting both I.N. covers in the bottom list, but...ugh. I need to state, over and over again, that it’s not him. He is so good, his voice is stunning, I love hearing it. But both the covers he has youtube are so soft. And I just can’t. If I was into songs like that, I would be all over his covers, because his voice is so good. But I’m not.
#Stray Kids#skz record#skz player#skz thoughts#one day#i will stop praising han jisung and his songs#but that day#is not today#there is still so much to get through with these guys#just so much#also#although i know it's unlikely#i wish some of the other guys would release solo songs#really just lee know and felix#since i think they're the only ones who haven't#i imagine they're the most self conscious about their voices#but they both sound beautiful#and i'd love to hear them on their own

Sleepy’s Favorite K-Pop Songs of 2020
1. Any Song - Zico -- this song is not particularly special, but the main vibe, “play any song that makes you happy” is exactly how my musical tastes were in 2020, for the regular reasons we all faced AND for some extra, personal reasons that made me search out happier or deceptively happy songs, or songs that lay next to me instead of crawling under my skin. I usually love when a song sings my soul back to me, but there were many moments last year that I just couldn’t handle that, or couldn’t handle it the same way I usually would. Spotify says that Any Song was played the most of, well, any song, and I know why.
2. Midnight Train - Se So Neon -- this is a song that lay beside me, from the first time I heard it and every time after. It actually doesn’t have a ton of lyrics, but the ones it has are vibrating with intention and casual pain. There is ice on the tip of your tongue but it mellows as the guitar takes you out with the tide. Sometimes the melody is clashing so hard against your teeth you’re worried it’ll just swallow you whole, but instead it falls like a heavy rain, washing everything clean. Please, please listen to this song.
3. Scream - Dreamcatcher -- they have never released a bad song, and I actually love their entire discography. It’s one of the few that I do listen to just by itself, no other artists. Dreamcatcher have never been afraid to be brash and in your face, nor do they shy away from saying how it is. There is an open wound inside this song, and your heartbeat is so loud in your ears. The lyrics are intense, the instrumentals are intense, the performances in the vocals are fire and wine and steel. I love it.
4. Can’t You See Me? - TXT -- I really loved Run Away in 2019, which for a debut year was jam packed with content. TXT has this wonderful take on youth and maturity and being real about your emotions. Their voices are soft and sweet, even while this song is talking about the disparity between reality and dreams, truth and lies. Every part of the song captures my attention, I don’t think it has any weak points, and I always picture the MV. Strawberries will never be the same. This song did sing my soul to me a little, but even though the sound was visceral it never cut through bone. It was gentle and kind, and held my hand.
5. Close - Han (Stray Kids) -- I did not expect that this little song would end up meaning so much to me, but it did. Stray Kids had an amazing year as always, but I guess my love for Han’s singing and his lyricism just got me. Han has a way of just pulling back all the weeds surrounding my feelings, but not tugging them straight out. He’s patient with the dandelions and doesn’t insist on clarity right away. This song got closer and closer to me the more I listened to it, until it was stuck in my head and I was never mad about it. There are blue skies and sunshine and someone is waiting for me, ready to smile when I turn around.
6. Back Door - Stray Kids -- the production behind SKZ’s music does continually get better, but I think the more appropriate term is “expands.” Their sound remains largely the same, while each new release tries something new, echoes the old, and continues to push the same message they’ve had since the beginning: inclusivity. Stray Kids is here for you, to welcome you into the club and to have a good time with you while we talk about the struggles we’re all facing. I haven’t yet gotten sick of this song, it goes by in a flash and for once, I don’t have a favorite part, or a section that gets stuck in my head more than others. It’s the whole package for me.
7. Kick It - NCT 127 -- NCT makes a lot of very clean, very specific sounding sounds that I don’t really care for. I have a few favorites, and actually really love the whole of the debut album, but I don’t go out of my way to listen to their music. Kick It, though, was just so much fun, it had sharp edges and and a smooth underbelly. Haechan sounds the best, I love his voice SO MUCH, but everyone sounds good. I like the unison parts, the repeat mantras, the bombastic way the lyrics aren’t really saying a lot but are so enthusiastic that you don’t care.
8. eight - IU, SUGA -- IU just continues to evolve and make music that is really, really good. None of her songs are overly complex or visionary, but they are friendly and relevant, and sit outside your door with brownies and lemonade. IU’s voice can do soft, can do poignant, can do intense, depending on her mood. She is a singer of extraordinary caliber and I love seeing everything she does next. eight was a simple but beautiful song that plays into your nostalgia without sugar-coating everything, and at the same time there’s such a lightness too it. It’s a short song and SUGA’s rap was such an unexpected addition that actually worked really well.
9. So What - LOONA -- this is a song deserving of a much higher spot, but I think I just wasn’t quite as ready for LOONA’s next evolution as others’. Still, this song is so good, with potentially the best bridge of the entire year. Everyone sounds so good, the song hypes you up and never lets you down. Even though the concept is one we’ve seen before, LOONA never makes anything sound the same. There is no compromise, there is only awesomeness.
10. ON - BTS -- I went around in circles contemplating how much I did or didn’t like this song. BTS is going places with their music that I don’t love as much as their stuff from, say 2016-18, but they are still incredible artists and performers. And ignoring all the rest, all the talk, just focusing on the song itself, it’s really good. It’s really, really good and the kind of song that I unapologetically sing really loudly in the car. There are quieter parts that acknowledge how exhausting it is to keep moving forward when you’re in pain, strong, jagged tantrums that demand that the pain try harder to keep you down, spaces to breath and places to run. This is a song that says we’re going through a battle and it’s hard, but we can see that there is an end, there is hope, and nothing will keep us down. Even through pain and tears, we can go on.
And now things get a little funky because I had a lot of favorites:
11. Tiger Eyes - Ryu Su Jeong Girls - Nature Villain - Stella Jang Boca - Dreamcatcher Left & Right - Seventeen
12. Come Back Home - ONEUS Summer Breeze - SF9 Apple - GFriend Bon Voyage - YooA pporappippam - Sunmi
13. Me Time - Yubin Easy - Stray Kids Favorite Boys - A.C.E Think of Dawn - Ghost9 The Stealer - The Boyz
14. One - Golden Child Alien - Lee Suhyun A Song Written Easily - ONEUS La Di Da - Everglow Blue Hour - TXT
15. Breath - GOT7 Hands Up - Cherry Bullet Answer/Inception - ATEEZ 90′s Love - NCT U End of Spring - ONEWE

Chapter Song: Third Eye - Skz
<< prev next >>
_____________________
There was only silence suffocating me while sitting under the soft purple and blue hues of the dawning sky. The only sounds surrounding me was the low hum of Seungmin’s nice, new, sleek black car and the subtle sound his pen being anxiously tossed up and down, slapping back against his palm lightly. The motion caught my eye as it seemed to be the same movement of the strange man flipping the blade back at the diner. Maybe I was just imagining things after such a busy night. My heart was racing plus my thoughts were hazy and confused. The roads I’d known for so long felt foreign as my eyes glazed over in thought. I couldn’t even recognize the sound of my name leaving Seungmin’s pale pink lips or the sound of the engine shutting off as we parked in the drive way outside of his apartment.
I snapped back into reality with a gasp as the cool early morning air brushed over my exposed neck and Seungmin’s large hand took hold of my elbow gently. “What..?” I said softly, unsure what I was even questioning, but desperately searching for some kind of answer. This was the first moment in time that the events of the past night were catching up to me. My lips wobbled as my face began to feel hot. My throat felt unbelievably dry as I stared into Seungmin’s wide, worried eyes as he leaned down to take in the features of my face in the low morning light. He left the passenger side car door open as he straightened up and let go of my arm. His eyes stayed trained on mine, making me feel even smaller under his towering figure.
“You’re going to stay here with me for a bit. I need to get some things ready. I promise I’ll explain more, but you can’t go home. You’ll be safe with me” He spoke quickly, but I could tell he was sincere. I took hold of his now outstretched hand and pulled myself out of his car. I looked around slowly taking in my surroundings and breathing in the calm, familiar air. Seungmin’s smiled at me as he walked around the car to pull my bag out of the drivers side and, feeling more lighthearted looking into my best friend’s fond eyes, I allowed myself to send him a small smile back.
I snickered softly as he stepped on my heels and prodded at my back trying to rush me up the steps into his apartment. Once we finally got through the door I noticed the messy state of the place. Trash and clothing littered the floor, blankets covered the couch in a way that proved he surely didn’t make it to bed out of exhaustion on his first day off in a while, but regardless of the state of the place, it felt safe and warm. I made my way towards the makeshift bed covering the large, L-shaped gray couch after pulling my thick coat off allowing my shirt to stop sticking to my already too hot skin. I soon found myself sitting on the couch taking deep breaths and coming to terms with what had occurred recently. As my thoughts began to clear and my skin cooled I heard Seungmin’s voice wandering from the other room.
“I’ll go ahead and grab you a change of clothes and your spare toothbrush again! You’re bag’s by the door! Make yourself at home!” He yelled my direction, a smile evident through his tone. I made a noise of confirmation back at him and heard the bedroom door close sharply in his hurry. Once I was sure he was busy I decided to get up and grab my bag. My eyes quickly shifted to where it was lying in the corner by the door. I sighed as I stood and made my way to stand in front of it. I felt as if the straps of my own bag would scorch my skin if I touched them, but instead of pondering for long I steeled myself and quickly dropped to my knees to begin searching deep in the pockets of the bag to find the dagger I had disregarded earlier.
Pulling the sharp blade out quickly I took note of the way the soft glow of the too orange morning light filtering through the half drawn curtains hanging loosely over the large windows adjacent to me hit the silver of the blade beautifully. The dagger itself was gorgeous and well crafted, albeit it’s slightly terrifying nature. The ivory handle was balanced perfectly for my delicate hands, the sharp edged blade curved intricately, and the words etched so deeply into the hilt stared back at me tauntingly. I whispered out their syllables softly enunciating each letter carefully. My brows furrowed as I felt a small smile forming on my face as I held this blade that felt so natural and surreal tightly in my palm.
“Where the hell did you find that?” I yelped loudly and dropped the dagger as I scrambled away from the booming voice behind me. My eyes darted up as my hands came up in a form of surrender while the blade’s sharp metal clang could be heard from hitting the wood flooring where I was once kneeling. When I noticed it was just Seungmin in front of me, a set of his soft grey sweats in one hand and toothbrush and soap in the other, I quickly let my shoulders fall and breathing go back to normal. However, my guard didn’t go down completely while taking note of the dark look he was giving the now discarded dagger on the ground. He quickly threw the clothes my way before leaning down to grab and inspect the blade. His brow only furrowed deeper as I tried to gauge his reaction until he sighed harshly and turned his deep glare towards me.
“Where the hell did you find this?” He repeated slowly, pointing the tip of the blade in my direction. “Y/n tell me. Now.”
I tried to form the words rushing through my mind. I wanted to know why he was so angry. I wanted the look on his face to be pointed at anyone else. I wanted to give him the whole story. I wanted to cry. I wanted him to stop touching my dagger. I couldn’t think.
“I didn’t find it.” These were the only words I could seem to find as I tried to pull myself off of the floor. He watched as I stood slowly and noticed my eyes staying trained on the blade itself. He huffed and twirled the blade in his hand as he tossed the other things in his hands my way shooing me off towards the bathroom.
“We will have a conversation after you get cleaned up.” He said dismissively, turning and walking away while staring down at the dagger in his hands. I sighed, but ultimately agreed in silence by making my way towards the familiar bathroom to allow myself a sense of reprieve.
___________________
My skin felt raw and hot after my shower, but soon turned cold when I heard two voices in the other room. I quickly realized one of the voices to be Seungmin’s and the other to be through the phone. I sighed softly and quickly pulled my clothing on trying to make as little noise as possible. I pushed on the handle slowly when it sounded like the conversation was picking up and cautiously tip-toed my way back towards the living room, making sure to stay out of sight of Seungmin as he paced back and forth, holding the phone away from his ear while staring at the dagger being slowly and meticulously turned over and over in his left hand.
“It all starts now, Chan-hyung.” He said, sighing, before hanging up and tossing the phone harshly on the couch. My eyes went wide hearing those words leave my best friends lips. Questions began racing through my mind as my heartbeat was pounding in my ears. I stood completely still in shock until a loud bang sounded against the wall, right next to my head. I screamed and swiftly ducked out of the way before whipping my head in Seungmin’s direction in awe at what had just occurred.
“What the fuck, Min?!” I whisper yelled at him, my eyes darting between his now still, strong form and the dagger that had just previously been in his hands, now nearly hilt deep in the dry wall that resided where my head was previously in front of.
“You should know better than to sneak up on people y/n.” He said sternly, making me scoff. He turned away from my gaze quickly before walking up to the dagger and ripping it forcefully out of the new deep hole in the dry wall. He kept his gaze trained anywhere away from my still gaping form before sighing and using his free hand to motion behind his back for my response.
“You could have killed me! And who is this Chan?! And what the actual fuck is going on??” I said in rapid succession before taking a shuddering breath and continuing. “You promised me answers, Min.” My eyes darted over his sturdy back and then back to the hole in the wall. “And where did you even learn how to do that??!” I finished with my arms slapping against my sides loudly out of disbelief.
“I’ll answer all of your questions in time, but it isn’t safe here anymore. I have to grab some of my things and I need you” he paused, turning to face me with a stern look on his face while his index finger was outstretched and pointing towards my face, “to keep the questions to a minimum until I say so.” He finished by walking towards me with one eyebrow raised and a look I considered to be a ‘say you understand or so help me god.’ I decided to simply hum out an agreement deeming now wasn’t the time to push the boundaries.
He told me to keep put in the living room until he brought out all we would need to go where ever it was that we were heading and I decided to listen. I made my way towards the couch and Seungmin’s discarded phone mulling over the strange metallic noises and rustling I could hear from the currently occupied bedroom. That was until..
knock knock knock
My head whipped up at the sudden drilling sound of someone knocking at the door. I bit my lips and began fidgeting with my hands in contemplation of answering it. By the time the second round of knocks sounded through the apartment I decided it could be something important or even the man Seungmin was on the phone with and got up decisively to check.
Hearing the slow, eerie creak of the worn door set my nerves on edge as I peaked my head out saying a simple greeting with as pleasant a smile as I could muster. Because of my still wet hair the cool air from the hallway sent a chill down my spine before I could take everything in.
“Oh dearie me! Are you Seungmin’s new girlfriend?? I only came by because he promised me some help tonight moving some heavy furniture!” A small, crackling old voice spoke softly out at me. My anxieties slowly came to a halt as I took note of the frail old woman with silver hair and a kind smile standing outside. I opened the door a little wider and gave her an apologetic look.
“Sorry..” I said trailing off while messing with the hem of Seungmin’s sweater. “He isn’t here right now..but I can leave a message for you.” I continued lightheartedly. Maybe I was lying. I knew we couldn’t waste time right now and with the pressing danger Seungmin kept reminding me of I determined having this old woman around wouldn’t be ideal. Quickly the grandmother dawned a contemplative expression as her brows began to furrow. I almost caught a glint in her eye but I just assumed my nerves were on edge.
“It isn’t a good idea to lie, young woman.” I gasped at the sudden bass in the old woman’s voice. I took a quick step back and tightened my grip on the door while trying to stutter out a response in fear. “Where is he?” She spat out at me and suddenly her features began to become misshapen. Her eyes glowed with a bright yellow light, like something out of a movie. Her hair began to fall in chunks out of her now fluctuating head and onto the floor in clusters of white. Her saggy, cream colored skin began to puff and inflate until it slowly peeled back in thin, gooey strips revealing black, burnt, and flaky skin in its place. Then her hands, that were now reaching out towards me, became increasingly longer as the nails protruding out of each cuticle sharpened like knives and turned the color of coal. It felt surreal and I was frozen in shock and fear. Then, she lunged towards me, my death clearly the intent of her action.
My instincts kicked in as I pushed the door still in my grip forward as hard as I could, slamming it against the fast moving creature in front of me. The door splintered and cracked loudly as the creature’s muscled arms protected its now devoid of all skin face. The large, fang filled mouth was wider now and drooling, the tongue of this beast twice as long as before, and it’s nose had disappeared, sunken in like a crater leaving a black, charred space of skin where it had been before. I quickly stumbled backwards towards the couch, wishing I still had the dagger in my possession, before I realized I was cornered. I eyed my surroundings as the creature laughed in its deep baritone way before sprinting towards the kitchen to my right as it lunged for me. It’s forward facing claws slapped against the window, shattering it, and raining glass over the alleyway two stories below. The creature let out an ear piercing screech before whipping its head unnaturally far in my direction as I quickly searched the familiar drawers for what I was looking for.
My fingers found the sharp, overly large kitchen knife I had bought for Seungmin a few years back just as the creature made a dash in my direction. I heard a commotion behind my back, from the direction of the bedroom Seungmin had been occupying, but my thoughts were no longer present as my instincts I didn’t know I had took over. I gripped the blade tighter and planted my feet as the creature neared. I heard my name being yelled right as the creature leaped. Time felt as if it as slowed as I took a shaky breath out and moments before my impending doom, I jumped.
As I dodged to the right the creature made a disgusting gargle of displeasure. I assessed the situation before quickly ducking as a mangled, misshapen limb came flying in the direction of my head and, using the leverage I had from this position under the creature, I thrust my knife up into the creatures chest, just below the throat level where I assumed the most damage could be done. Thick, warm, black liquid oozed and burst out of the wound as the creature staggered and fell beside me. The liquid that had gotten on my hands and across my face felt cold as my eyes widened and my chest heaved for breath. I could still feel the soft thud in my hands and hear the harsh crunching snap as I forced the blade deep into the creature. My now bloody hands shook as I brought them in front of my face to examine what I had just done. The creature twitched a few times and I flinched at each movement as my eyes became trained on the soft ashes now beginning to fill the air. Soon, the body of the creature disappeared into nothing but grey specks and my vision became hazy. I couldn’t tell if it was the tears or what was in the air.
A noise rang through the air sharply and I gasped as my eyes flew to the heavy duffel bag Seungmin had just dropped on the ground. I took one look at this flabbergasted face and made a small noise as I walked slowly towards him. He smiled softly, the way he always had, as he pulled his sleeve up to wipe my face and hands free of the only evidence that the creature had ever been there.
“Now where did you learn all of that?” He asked, laughing in a sort of sad way. I looked at him confused before shaking my head and biting my lip, trying to will the tears pooling in my eyes to go away.
“Min, what was that? How come you don’t seem scared?” I spoke out softly, scared if I made too much noise I would summon another one that I wasn’t sure I would be able to kill. He sighed and dropped his hands before sheepishly running his hands over the back of his neck.
“That was a demon. I don’t seem scared because, well, I..hunt..them.” I stated nodding his head softly as if to reassure himself that saying it would be okay. I began to laugh loudly, uncaring.
“You’re insane! YOU hunt demons. I just saw a demon. Wow, I must be really going crazy!” I said between my chuckles. His brow furrowed as he watched me laugh, doubling over to hold my stomach.
“No. For real! That’s why my job has been so weird and why I’ve never been able to tell you much about it all!” He said loudly, his face hopeful. “In fact there’s a whole group of us! And I think all of this is linked to you and the disappearance of your mother, in fact, I know so.” He said matter of factually. I gasped when he mentioned my mother and began to take notice of the honesty riddling his face. I straightened my back and looked deeply into his eyes while catching my breath. He was telling the truth. He was telling the truth.
My thoughts were brutally interrupted by the sound of knocking on the door frame to the apartment. I jumped harshly and latched on to Seungmin’s sweater as his head turned sharply in the direction of the noise. Just as my eyes met what Seungmin was looking at he was already moving to push me into motion. He swiftly grabbed the bag at our feet and pulled me towards the living room again. My thin shoes did little to stop the impact of the shattered glass littering the floor against my feet as I took hurried steps in the direction I was being pulled. The large man at the door snarling and taking slow, menacing steps towards us now.
“Jump!” Seungmin yelled in my ear as he pushed me towards the large broken window. My hands flew out in front of me, grasping the edges of the window sill uncaring of the broken glass shredding through my palms.
“Are you insane?!” I whispered out in his direction incredulously. He sighed and gave me a look before taking my hands off of the window sill and balling them up in his own larger ones.
“Just trust me.” He said with a pointed look. His fingers gripped me firmly and his chest was moving rapidly with his breaths. I could tell he was nervous. “Jump.”
I took a swift deep breath looking into the eyes of a boy I’ve trusted with my life since I was six years old and heard the footsteps of another demon (?) nearing us. I nodded my head and let go of Seungmin’s hands to turn in the direction of the window. I saw a blade similar to the one I had been given appear in Seungmin’s hand like magic out of the corner of my eye before hearing his swift footsteps and the sound of the large man’s voice crying out in rage. I took a few steps backwards before steeling my nerves and holding my breath as I ran full force out of the window.

SKZ Reaction; Asking you out
Genre: fluff
This is a continuation of how you meet
Bang Chan
You and Chan spend a lot of time producing new music. Right now you were walking to his studio with four cups of coffee. Since Jisung and Changbin where in the too.
You stood just outside the door when you heard them talk. “No, Jisung I’ve asked yet, I want to ask with the love song I produced.” “You know y/n could come back any minute right?” You opened the door at that moment. “Did ya’ll order some coffee?” Chan blushed a bit as he looks at you as you winked at him.
Jisung and Changbin noticed the tension within the room and smirked. “Y/n, Channie-hyung made a song for you.” Jisung said, earning a glare from Chan. “Oh well I wanna hear that.” You laughed, Chan at this point had his head in his hands. Changbin took it to himself to play the song.
The song had a soft tune and the lyrics sounded like a confession. You had closed your eyes enjoying the sounds. “This sounds really good, did you really wrote it for me?”
“Yes...” Chan finally looks up at you and smiled when he saw you smile. “I like you too Chan.”
Lee Minho
Minho came every Saturday to the shelter, too help you with the cats. The both of you were playing the kittens at the moment, you were still curious about why Minho actually was coming every week.
“Minho, why do you come here? You have three cats at home and a busy job.” You couldn’t understand why he want to be here. Many times Minho said he likes it here, but you didn’t believe it.
Minho could clearly see that you wanted answers and not the one he gave you. “Well, actually I met a someone, who I started to like a lot. More than I’m allowed to. And that person is here every Saturday taking care of cats.”
“That’s great to hear.” You felt a bit nervous, cause the only one you could think about was yourself. But at the same time you didn’t believe it, why would he like someone like you.
Minho smiled. “y/n would you like to be mine?” You looked up in shock. “Yes.” you crawled closer to Minho and hugged him.
“Your stuck with me now Lee.”
Seo Changbin
The two of you sat inside his studio writing lyrics. Every time you looked at Changbin you felt butterflies in your stomach. Right now you couldn’t help it, you were staring at the boy and without realizing it you were drawing him. Once you looked at the paper again and back to earth you were a bit shocked.
Changbin noticed the staring and sat closer to you. “What do you have already.” You were quickly moving the notebook so he couldn’t look. “It’s a secret.” Both you and Changbin were now in a playful fight, since he wanted to know what was in the notebook. In the end Changbin won and got a hold of book.
Your face was red when Changbin looks though it, he smirks at the drawing with hearts around it. “You like me? Yes, I can see it in your face. Well lucky you. I like you too. But one thing you need to know is your drawing is amazing and it’s mine.” He carefully rips the page out of it and put in it in his notebook so it wouldn’t get damaged.
Hwang Hyunjin
After the accident from a few months ago. You and Hyunjin were practically stuck to the hip from that moment. Always practicing new dances together.
“Y/n, JYP-Nim asked some of us idols to compete within a dancing competition. And I want to ask you if you want to be mine dance partner. I still have some other background dancers but I want you to be mine main one.” You nod at him. “Sure. What’s the theme?”
“Love songs.” there was a moment of quiet in room. “Right, let’s start learning the dance right?”
Now nearly a week as passed. You had a small break and watched Hyunjin. “You look really hot doing that.” What could you possible lose right? Hyunjin turns around in shock. “Hyunjin, I think I like you. More then I probably should.”
Hyunjin smiles. “I like you two. I guess this dance really brought us closer.” He walks towards you and kissed your head. “Now I put more love within the dance. It would look so realistic.”
Han Jisung
The two were best friends ever since you were seated next to him. This even went to the point of sharing a dorm room together. You were laying on your bed while Jisung was sitting at the desk.
“Sung, I’m bored.” You complained as you rolled to watch him. Jisung lets out a sigh. “You could study, the test week is coming up.” Now it was your turn to sigh. “Fine, let’s date.”
“Sure.” You weren’t actually thinking about what he said, but before you even knew it Jisung laid on top of you. “Your heavy! What are you even doing?” You laughed, wrapping your arms around him. “I’m cuddling my bored significant other.” You finally realized what Jisung was talking about seconds ago.
“I really thought you meant that were going out, in like you know getting some fresh air. But I do like you too Sung.”
Lee Felix
Today was prom night. You got a cute outfit which matched with Felix’ one. As you were doing the last bit of preparation a car rolled on the driveway and within a few minutes the doorbell rang. Luckily your mom was a savior for opening the door as you nearly fell of the stair because you were busy with one to many things.
“Mr. Lee, you look amazing.” Your mom said smiling at Felix. “Y/n is there.” Your mom went out of the way and Felix and you made eye contact. “Wow.” was all that came out of Felix’ mouth. You smiled shyly and grab all you needed. “I’m ready Lix.” Felix grabs your hand and pulls you with him. “Mr and Mrs y/l/n, don’t worry. I’ll make sure y/n will safe with me.” With that the both of you got into the car going to the prom venue.
“Y/n, I actually wanted to ask you this at the end. But I can’t help it to ask you now. Will you be mine?” Felix asked as he looks you before you went into the venue. “Yes.” You both hugged and went inside to have the best time of your lives.
Kim Seungmin
You had been talking to Seungmin a lot. Even your fan noticed, to the point of them shipping the two of you.
Seungmin was in the practice room when the members of Day6 bursted in with you behind them. “We all decided that Seungmin you would officially be our little brother. Since your dating our little sister.” Jae said as he walked in, startling the poor boy.
Seungmin looks up confused. “I didn’t know you had a little sister and I’m not dating anybody.” Jae rolls his eyes, while Sungjin took over. “Well you spend a lot of time with y/n. Including skin ship. And don’t forget that millions are shipping the two of you.” You stood there embarrassed, trying to stop them. But it was no use as Brian back hugs you.
“Seungmin, I’m sorry I tried to stop them.” You yelled before Brian covers your mouth. Dowoons face lightens up. “Well if your not dating. How about confessing, cause I’m getting tired of listening to y/n talking about you.”
Your face turned red, as Seungmin’s did the same. “Okay, what could I actually lose. Y/n I really like you, accept me as your boyfriend.” You could just nod your head. Brian lets you go and push you towards Seungmin. “You two love birds have some fun!”
Yang Jeongin
You and Jeongin became great friends after the first coffee ‘date’. To the point the two of you couldn’t help and do those ‘dates’ more often.
Right now you were already waiting for two hours and you were pissed. You understood he was busy, but a text couldn’t be that hard right? You stood up, paid for the drinks you bought and left to go home, only sending him one text. “I wasted two hours of my life because of you.”
Jeongin in the meantime had practice, but things didn’t go as planned as they were already three hours longer busy with the dances. Chan noticed the tired and stressed faces and dismissed them. That’s when Jeongin realized he forgot about you. “Channie-hyung, please help. I messed up big time.”
The doorbell rang, you looked in the mirror and try to make yourself to look a bit descent, before opening the door. As you opened it, the first thing you saw was a bouquet of flowers. Then Jeongin came behind the flowers. “I’m so sorry y/n. I never meant to ditch you. Practice turned out to be longer and I totally forgot to text you about it. Please accept these gifts.”
You grabbed the bouquet out of his hands and put them on a vase, when you turned to Jeongin again he holds a bag in front of you. You saw a piece of paper, teddy bear and some sweets in there.
The paper said. “Please date me.” You read the letters on the paper a few times before hugging him while saying yes.

so... i’m not actually in the witcher fandom, nor do i know the most about it...but i still think you should write witcher!hyunjin + bard!jisung. i just approve of the notion idk
I WROTE IT!!!! lmao, be proud of me! this was a whole ride and I loved every second. I hope you’ll find this amusing, too!
Here's the tags: KPOP RPF, Stray Kids Fanfic, Han Jisung/Hwang Hyunjin, rated T, warnings for violence and blood, Witcher AU, 5k, complete. Read it on ao3 here or continue forth below the cut.
Inspired by this Witcher!Hyunjin edit. Beta’d by Reltic, who writes very good skz fic y’all should go read it <3
Anyway let me know what you think :]
Hyunjin punched him in the face.
… by accident. That was important. Or it would be important, if Hyunjin didn’t wish he could punch the annoying bard a second time.
Unfortunately, they were currently caught and bound in the bandits’ cave, back to back, and if Hyunjin wanted to break free fast, the knife in his arm guard would also stab the annoying bard in the back. And he had to admit that that annoying mouth was currently the only thing preventing the bandits from slashing their throats and leaving them to bleed out in a ditch.
Fuck.
So Hyunjin lost himself in the memory of the bard’s stupid soft cheek on his knuckles, the impact he felt before the bard’s head snapped back and he stumbled away. The blood on his teeth when he smiled up at Hyunjin, who had honestly (oh, his past self new nothing) meant to punch the lackey of the village’s head who refused to pay him. The space around the bar had been packed, and someone was pushed into the lackey just before Hyunjin hit him.
The annoying bard.
Hyunjin, feeling sorry and embarrassed, had kicked the lackey a few metres away, relishing in the thump of a body against the wall and then the following slump to the floor accompanied with the sudden scared quiet of the room. And then he’d glared at the guys who had been pushing the annoying bard and escorted him out, meaning to apologise. He had not meant for the annoying bard to follow him on the dusty dirt road to the next village and never stop talking.
“You really should let us go, my dudes,” the annoying bard laughed – Jisung, oh how Hyunjin wished he didn’t know that name – “I mean come on, have you ever seen a man as beautiful as him? It would be a crime to kill us, a crime.”
The first that hit Jisung’s bruised face after that was deserved, and Hyunjin wished he was the one who did the punching.
“You trespassed into our territory, we will do as we wish,” one of the bandits crossed his head and lifted his chin as if he was almighty. For the moment, he was. “We have heard of a witcher with ties to the queen, and we can’t let him run to her and tell her about our secret drug ring.”
Hyunjin closed his eyes and groaned quietly. Life was just out to get him specifically.
“Ah, we don’t kiss and tell,” Jisung said, and Hyunjin just knows he’s winking and putting on his ‘flirting’ face. “Wait, Hyunjinnie, you know the queen? Me too!”
Hyunjin wished he could close his ears too. Those were definitely the words the bandits needed to hear right now. Yes. Good thinking there, Jisung.
“Who are you that you know the queen?” Another of the bandits spoke up, walking closer. “Maybe we can exchange your dead remains for money.”
Jisung, at least, had nothing to say to that. “Ahaha, a joke, of course! How would I know the queen! Why would he know the queen? He’s a witcher, not a witch.”
Hyunjin groaned. “The queen and I are on bad terms right now, and I won’t tell her about your drug ring because I will kill you all.”
Finally, blessed silence. Hyunjin counted his heartbeats and breaths, relaxing his shoulders. Quiet. Nice. Now if only there was a breeze carrying some fresh mountain air.
“Hey,” Jisung hissed, “don’t encourage them!”
And the room broke in frantic yells and panic as they tried to decide what to do since both their prisoners apparently knew the ruler of the kingdom, except of course if they were lying. Hyunjin sighed.
“Hyunjin,” Jisung whispered, shuffling around, “how do we escape? You have a plan, right?”
Hyunjin took a deep breath. “I have a knife in my boot,” he told Jisung quietly, “if we stand up at the same time, I can take it, and cut us free.”
Jisung let out a breath. “Oh, that’s good! I knew you got this.”
Hyunjin just brought his legs under him, swiping the dagger from his boot – really, what kind of bandits didn’t tie their prisoner’s legs? – and as he stood with Jisung scrambling to his feet himself, he cut the ropes tying them together.
The bandits noticed a second too late, and drew their swords a second too late. Two put up half a fight, but soon they all lay dead on the floor, blood splattered all over Hyunjin. Hyunjin wrinkled his nose, and made an attempt to wipe the blood off of his daggers on the only bandit who still had a clean shirt.
“Where did that second dagger come from?” Jisung, his wrists still bound, interrupted Hyunjin.
“You’re still here?” Hyunjin shoved the daggers back, one into his boot and the other under his arm guard where it was concealed under black leather.
“Wait so you could have broken free all along with the dagger in your sleeve? Why didn’t you…” understanding slowly crawled across his expressive face, followed by a bright smile. “Hyunjin! I knew you care about me!”
“I don’t,” Hyunjin said, but somehow couldn’t stop himself from untying Jisung’s hands. He took his sword from where the bandits had tossed it in a corner and drew the blade. More bandits would still be outside. Jisung picked up his lute and hugged it close to his chest.
As Hyunjin had expected, a few bandits were in the surrounding woods, just far enough to not have heard their companions’ dying screams. Hyunjin killed the ones that attacked him and let the others run away.
When he reached the road, he lifted his fingers to his mouth and whistled.
Loud breathing and stomping reached him not much later.
“Hyunjinnie!” Jisung emerged behind him, cheeks flushed under his bruised face, lute strapped to his back. “I don’t understand how –” he gasped for air, “– you can run through the woods so fast. Wait for me.”
Hyunjin, however, only had eyes for the beauty that approached him now. “Kkami!”
Kkami was his trusted companion and only friend. And a horse. But she was the best. Better than all humans he ever met. A good listener too. And quiet. Unlike a certain annoying bard.
“Oh, pretty,” Jisung stumbled towards Kkami, who neatly stepped around him as if he was just an unusual kind of tree.
“I’m so proud of you,” Hyunjin whispered to her, leaning his forehead against hers and stroking her long neck. Kkami was truly his only friend.
Hyunjin climbed up on her back in one smooth move. He patted the parts of her neck he could reach and steered her down the road with his legs alone. She started walking in a comfortable walk, one that she would be able to hold for days. The sun was high in the sky, the trees green, the birds singing. It was calm now. The breeze smelled of forest and moss and rotting leaves and flowers in bloom. Hyunjin could hear his own heartbeat as well as Kkami’s, their breaths aligning like they so often did on long journeys.
It was wonderful.
Except that his and Kkami’s weren’t the only heartbeats he heard.
“Oh, can I also ride on your horse? No? Alright then, it’s your horse, I understand. Did you call her Kkami? That’s so cute. Like you! You were so badass back there, I had literal goosebumps. I must admit the blood splattered clothes fit you very well. And did you see their faces when they realised we got free? And oh, we busted a drug ring, if you were on good terms with the queen we could totally go to the capital and receive money for doing good deeds in the name of the crown. But alas, we’ll have to live as vagabonds! Lonely heroes on their way to defeat evil!”
Yup. There he was.
“I should write a song about it. I can write a song about us. I will write a song about you! Hyunjin, how do you feel about songs? I promise I’ll also credit Kkami with defeating a villain, of course, she’s lovely. Do you think a long ballad would be suitable? Or a drinking song? If you don’t mind, I’ll try some freestyles, yeah?”
“Shut up.”
“Ah, but I write my songs by freestyling! I just start singing, play some chords, and continue until I find sounds and words I like. You know, as a starving artist with only my lute, I can’t rely on making notes and writing my lyrics down, I have to memorize them as I come up with them! So talking to myself helps with that, obviously. And now I have you, too! You will help me, right?”
Hyunjin contemplated kicking Jisung in the face. It would… even be possible, he realised as he studied the distance between his leg and Jisung’s head. He’d have to stretch weirdly though, and unless he shifted his weight, the kick wouldn’t be very strong. The movement would surprise Kkami though, and while she definitely wouldn’t mind or be inconvenienced, Hyunjin was sitting comfortable and breathing in synchrony with her.
Why mess that up? He could just pretend he wasn’t hearing anything, anything at all. A fly, maybe. A bee. Human voices? The last time he heard a human speak was one of the bandits, before he stabbed him in the chest with his sword and left the body in the shrubbery.
Oh, the calmness of the forest… so quiet… so nice.
In the late afternoon, the trees gave way to the next village, with fields spreading out into wasteland and far away mountains. The village was just big enough to have a bit of stone ground in the middle, with a river and a mill. An inn sat in it’s center.
Hyunjin sighed. He had exactly no money, which meant he’d have to ask for a job first before he could rent a room. However, he had yet to see a village that didn’t have at least one monster to get rid of. It just meant he’d have to go monster hunting before he could go to sleep for a day.
“Oh, are we staying here, Hyunjin?” Jisung stood in front of Hyunjin when he jumped off Kkami. And Jisung grinned. He swaggered towards the door of the inn. “I don’t have money, but I’m sure I can get us a room in exchange for entertainment! I’ll sing of your victories, witcher, and the town will love you!”
“Uh… bard,” Hyunjin said, because he’d actually have to warn him, didn’t he? “Jisung.”
Jisung turned to him with wide eyes and his grin turned into a soft smile.
“That might not help. As a witcher, people don’t usually… like… it… when I’m around.” Hyunjin gestured to his appearance, dark leather armour splattered with blood. Long white hair bound together but he knew there were leaves caught in it. It really spoke for itself. His glowing eyes didn’t help his case. “I’ll ask for a monster to kill, which will hopefully get us a meal and a room, and Kkami a place in a stable. That’s all, and only if we’re lucky.”
A look of something crossed Jisung’s face, there and gone too fast for Hyunjin to read. He squared his shoulders and bared his teeth. “Trust me on this, Hyunjin.”
And Jisung sauntered into the inn as if he owned it.
Hyunjin and Kkami shared a look. “I don’t know either, Kkami, sweetheart,” Hyunjin sighed.
Kkami neighed quietly.
“I know, I know, I better go and save his ass or something,” Hyunjin cringed. He was actually going to, wasn’t he?
Kkami snorted.
Hyunjin rolled his eyes. “Yah, don’t laugh at me! Wait here, okay? If anyone comes at you, you know how to drop kick them.”
Jisung had maybe one minute alone in the inn. Somehow, Hyunjin expected there to be fire and screaming and new bruises on Jisung’s annoying face.
One minute, and yet what Hyunjin found when he opened the door was Jisung pointing a finger at him, yelling, and cheering from a crowd of mostly drunk farmers and a handful of young women who curiously turned their heads.
“That’s him!” Jisung was laughing, too. “He saved my life.”
Hyunjin didn’t have time to process that before he was shoved next to Jisung by a smiling man with a long beard and a cup of beer was handed to him. The women oohed and aahed.
“Jisung-ssi, why didn’t you say he’s pretty?”
“Mr Bard, he truly looks as beautiful as you said! A hero!”
“To have defeated a Barghest! I’ll drink to that!”
Jisung cheered with the small crowd, and Hyunjin lifted his beer in cheers, setting it back down when it seemed like most people were briefly shifting their attention to their own drinks. Alcohol did nothing for him, and he didn’t like beer. Jisung swiftly switched his own cup with Hyunjin’s, and when Hyunjin brought the cup up to his face, he noticed it was water.
“I told you to trust me, Hyunjin,” Jisung said quietly.
Hyunjin could only nod.
“Oh, your hair is so pretty,” one of the older women said, sliding into the seat next to him. “I’m the co-owner of this establishment, by the way.”
“Um, thank you,” Hyunjin swallowed a mouthful of water. “I’ve been meaning to ask if you had a job for me here.”
Jisung, now a few metres away, strung his lute and started singing a catchy song about ‘that time a handsome witcher saved me from the beast’ which, despite his raspy throat, sounded good – if you could ignore the terrible text. And the fact that it was all lies. Well, Hyunjin had to admit that he did save Jisung from certain death, but there was nothing heroic about it, and Hyunjin also hadn’t taken off his clothes to use his undershirt to bind a cut on Jisung’s ankle.
“We are uncertain still,” the woman quickly tugged Hyunjin out of his thoughts with her serious tone. “A monster dwells upstream. Sometimes the river is dyed red, or pieces of ripped clothing will pass the village. My niece disappeared two weeks ago. One of the farmers went up to see what was causing the issue last week, and he never returned. One of his shoes did, though.”
“Hmm,” Hyunjin nodded. “I have a few ideas of what it might be, and none of them are good.”
The woman nodded, smiling worriedly. “If it really is a… monster, as you say, we will of course pay you accordingly. For now, your drinks are on us – see it as a gesture of good will for saving that bard.”
With a polite smile, she turned to attend a group of newly arrived villagers.
Hyunjin eyed the sliver of fading daylight streaming in through the dirty window. If it really was a drowner, it might move closer to the village when hungry. Drowners lived in streams and ponds and sewers, but if this one was upstream it might not take long for it to decide to live closer to the village. Hyunjin remembered the mill. There must be a body of water directly connected to it.
And if the last death was already a week ago, then he’d have to hurry. He finished his water and got up.
“Jisung,” he said when he reached him and Jisung had taken a small break from singing to hydrate. “I’m going after a monster here. I will be back by moonrise.”
Jisung smiled a gummy smile, eyes sparkling. “You’ll be back?”
“I’ll be back,” Hyunjin agreed, wondering if it would destroy his fragile positive image in the village if he punched Jisung in the face right now. Why bother though, Jisung’s bruises were just reaching their darkest point, another one wouldn’t even be visible.
Hyunjin turned and left, hearing Jisung loudly announce that Hyunjin was going to defeat the monster.
Kkami was eyeing him.
“What,” he grumbled. “So, he was right. So what. I still have to go kill a monster now.”
Kkami snorted judgingly.
Together, they swiftly galloped towards the mill, and in a slower tempo they followed the water upstream.
There were a few hills there, some shrubbery that quickly turned into tall trees, the river courving and going into the forest. The smell was the first thing that told him something was wrong here, so he got off Kkami, drank one of his witcher potions – never a fun experience, the way his insides twisted and bones shuddered just wasn’t a good vibe – and he felt his sight sharpening, eyes turning black.
Kkami, unbothered queen that she was, turned to snack on some leaves.
Hyunjin followed the smell of blood and death deeper into the woods to a clearing. A dark pond greeted him, and yes, this was it. He would never get the smell out of his hair.
He kicked a pebble into the water.
The water made waves, but not the ones physics predicted the pebble would have created.
In the end, killing a drowner wasn’t that much different from killing a human. They were, after all, human shaped with extra gills and fins. Somewhat. The difficulty didn’t lie in their superhuman strength, but Hyunjin was a witcher, and he had drunk his potions. Not even the coldness and darkness of the water surrounding them really bothered Hyunjin.
The difficulty lay in the fact that Hyunjin didn’t like the quiet that came after. He waded out of the pond, wet and cold, hair plastered to his forehead, the slippery head of the drowner in his arms, and what greeted him was cold starlight and absolute silence.
He walked the way back to the village. Kkami was waiting where he left her, but he didn’t want to ruin his saddlebags by getting them wet with smelly pond water and the drowner’s blood.
The moon rose just as he made it back to the village.
And when he opened the door to the inn, the first thing he saw was Jisung’s annoying face. Could his day get any worse after this?
“You’re back!” Jisung smiled again (why did he smile so much, and why did he smile at Hyunjin?) and then he saw the water dripping down his clothes and the monster’s head in his arms. Naturally Hyunjin couldn’t really grab the head in one hand, it was too fishy for that. Jisung winked at him, before turning back to the room. “The witcher defeated the monster! Your village is safe now!”
Cheers sounded through the room, which seemed to be packed with the whole village and not just the handful of farmers from earlier.
“Should I leave the head outside,” Hyunjin asked the woman who had spoken to him earlier.
She took a look and briefly looked nauseous. “Yes, just leave it outside, thank you. I’ll prepare a room and a bath for you, master witcher.”
Hyunjin blinked. He didn’t think he’d ever been addressed with this much honest respect. “Thank you.”
“Follow me.”
Through a crowd of mostly drunk cheering, the owner led him up a narrow stairway in the back, and opened one of the doors for him. There was a fairly big bed, a small window with curtains, and a tub behind a paper screen.
“Uh, excuse me,” Hyunjin stopped the woman just as she walked past him with the promise of getting someone to bring up hot water, “my horse, she’s outside. Could you send someone for her? If it’s too much trouble, is there a stable I can bring her to?”
The woman smiled. “Of course, dear. I’ll send my son, he’ll take good care of your horse.”
Relieved, Hyunjin started to undo the straps of his armour, putting the pieces on the clothes rack next to the tub. Hopefully the leather would be dry by morning. When he was down to his undershirt and pants, the woman returned with two people following behind her, all of them carrying buckets of steaming water.
“Thank you,” Hyunjin smiled politely, only to be told thanks in return, ‘for saving the village.’
… Jisung must be composing an epic ballad.
Tired, Hyunjin decided to not care about that right now, and fully undressed. He was just starting to relax in the hot water when the door behind him opened. Jisung’s familiar heartbeat sounded in the room. Hyunjin closed his eyes and sighed.
“Are you – oh.”
“What,” Hyunjin groaned. “Don’t tell me they only have one guest room and thus you simply must share with me.”
“Ah, yes, actually. How did you know?” Jisung crossed the room and sat next to Hyunjin, keeping his eyes strictly on Hyunjin’s face.
“Just – a hunch, I don’t know. Are you blushing?”
“No.” Jisung blushed.
Hyunjin hummed and started to cover his arms and chest with soap. It smelled too strongly of flowers, but maybe that would cover the lingering smell of blood and forest. He moved on to wash his hair, getting his fingers tangled in the knots.
“Wait,” Jisung interrupted, “let me do that.”
Stunned, Hyunjin didn’t move when Jisung grabbed the soap out of his hands.
“Your hair is really pretty,” Jisung murmured. “I want to braid it and give you a flower crown. Did you know that one of my aliases is Dandelion?”
“I did not,” Hyunjin said, because Jisung’s aliases were the most conceivable piece of information he just received.
Jisung laughed and used his hands to wash the soap out of Hyunjin’s hair. “You pretend you’re all tough and dramatic but really you’re a big softie.”
“Are you talking about yourself,” Hyunjin replied, because really, he did not come here for an emotional evaluation.
“Aw, no,” Jisung lightly splashed water in Hyunjin’s face, “I never pretend to be all tough and dramatic, I am all tough and dramatic.”
Hyunjin wrinkled his face in disgust. “You’re annoying.”
Hyunjin noticed how Jisung’s musician’s fingers lightly lingered on the scars on his shoulders and back when he washed the soap away. He let Jisung hold his hands and massage a pleasant smelling oil into his skin after he dried and got dressed in a long nightshirt the inn had kindly provided for them. He sat still as Jisung used a towel to gently dry Hyunjin’s hair, and in the absence of a comb used his fingers to disentangle the worst of the knots.
Jisung, for once, blessed Hyunjin with silence. Hyunjin still noticed Jisung. Even when he wasn’t talking a steady stream of nonsense, his presence was still… loud. Strong. The many buttons on Jisung’s jacket were undone with skilled fingers, and Hyunjin pinched himself when he finally remembered to look away. He walked through the room, closing the curtain, locking the door. Then he sat on the edge of the bed and looked everywhere except at Jisung, who pulled the nightshirt over his bare skin.
“You don’t mind sharing the bed, do you?” Jisung asked at last, sitting down next to Hyunjin.
“If I did,” Hyunjin replied, raising an eyebrow, “I’d have removed you from this room already.”
Jisung’s annoying mouth formed a big, heart shaped smile.
Hyunjin wanted to punch him. With his mouth. On Jisung’s mouth. He shuddered internally. Oh no. This wasn’t happening. He was definitely not going to kiss the annoying bard on his annoying mouth. Nope. Not happening.
“Thank you for saving my life,” Jisung said, serious. “Not just from the bandits, but you also kinda saved me back at the other village. You also punched me, but I know that was an accident.”
“I will punch you again,” Hyunjin grumbled, getting under the covers and scooting to one side, “it just won’t be an accident.”
Jisung laughed. “You’re really funny, you know that? I think most people don’t even notice, which is a shame.”
“You’re not funny,” Hyunjin yawned.
“Is that a challenge? Keep thinking that, then. I’ll make you smile.”
Hyunjin didn’t dignify that with an answer. He closed his eyes.
“Sleep well, Hyunjinnie,” Jisung murmured, burying himself in the blanket just a hand width away.
“Night,” Hyunjin returned after a pause.
It didn’t take long for Jisung’s breath to even out and his heartbeat to slow. Hyunjin listened to the muffled and fading noises of the inn for another while before he allowed himself to drift off. Even witchers needed sleep.
When he came back to consciousness, the first thing he noticed was the early morning light streaming in from behind the curtain. He still had his eyes closed and felt no need to move for the moment. Jisung’s heartbeat sounded steady, his breaths warm against Hyunjin’s neck. Hyunjin was warm and comfortable in a way he hadn’t been in a long time, the sheet comfortable around him.
Arms tightened around him, and a voice in the back of Hyunjin’s mind started screaming like the house was on fire. Except Hyunjin really didn’t mind burning houses, he was a witcher, why was his brain screaming? He firmly told himself to shut up and enjoy the lingering sleep. Awake time would be later.
“Hrngg warm,” Jisung murmured, and threw a leg over Hyunjin’s hips.
That woke Hyunjin.
Wide eyed, he stared down, only to see Jisung half on top of him. He realised that it wasn’t the blanket that was so comfortably warm and soft, but Jisung, because Jisung was draped all over him.
Carefully, Hyunjin tried to extract himself, but Jisung only tightened his hold on him.
“Fuck,” Hyunjin whispered.
What did one do when one woke up with a human octopus attached? Hyunjin didn’t know, so he tried to breathe normally and not disturb Jisung further. The bruises on his face were thankfully already fading into lighter shades of purple, but Jisung must have been exhausted. One of Hyunjin’s arms was free, and he’d left a bruise balm on the small table beside the bed, in case he hadn’t healed fully in the morning.
Carefully, Hyunjin reached over, scooped a bit up with his finger, and very carefully started to cover the bruises on Jisung’s cheekbone and temple. Jisung didn’t wake.
After a while, Hyunjin closed his eyes and fell back asleep. When he woke up again, it must have been late morning – golden light illuminated the room. Jisung was staring up at him, wide eyed.
“You drool in your sleep,” Hyunjin told him and gently pushed Jisung off him.
Jisung blushed furiously and wiped at his mouth with his sleeve, eyes not leaving Hyunjin.
Hyunjin stretched and stood. He opened the curtain, squinting against the bright daylight. When he turned to Jisung, he found Jisung rubbing at his eyes, looking lost in the center of the bed, blanket pooling around him. His hair stood around his head and looked – despite all logic – fluffy.
“I – uh, did I sleep on you?” Jisung averted his eyes.
Hyunjin hummed, turning to his clothes. His armour was dry, luckily, but he’d hate to wear the same undershirt and pants again. He’d have to find a river where he could wash his clothes soon.
“I’ll go find the toilet,” Jisung mumbled and left for the door. He almost stumbled in the doorway. “Oh, clothes! The nice lady must have left them for us.” In front of their door, indeed, was a neatly folded pile of clothes. Simple linen undershirts and pants, nothing fancy but of good quality.
When they had fully dressed and Hyunjin had wrenched his hair into a bun, they made their way downstairs just to find the barkeeper grinning widely at them, reminding Hyunjin that this village thought him a hero.
Thankfully, Jisung did all the talking, and Hyunjin could eat as much breakfast as he liked. Maybe he should keep Jisung around.
A handful of villagers came together to bid them goodbye, and the woman from the inn for some reason apologised for being unable to pay him, but instead offered a horse. A cute, mischievous black mare that had been her niece’s favourite, and as such had never learned how to be a proper farm horse. Jisung thanked the villagers profusely and loudly, and sang another rendition of ‘the handsome witcher saved my life’ as they left.
Out of sight and out of earshot of the last farm belonging to the village, Jisung’s voice went high and panicky.
“Hyunjin! I don’t know how to ride a horse!”
Hyunjin just looked Jisung up and down slowly, making his point. Jisung was, after all, sitting on his horse. Sure, he was also hugging his lute to his chest and also gripping the saddle with white-knuckled fists.
“Ha! I did it!” Jisung whooped then, and pointed a finger in Hyunjin’s face. “You smiled!”
Hyunjin wiped the smile off his face, furrowed his brows and glared. “No.”
“You did! I clearly saw – Hyunjinnie you’re so cute when you – ah!” Jisung blanched and cowered over his horse, who had just made a bigger step than usual to nose Kkami in the face.
Hyunjin laughed. He couldn’t help himself. Jisung was confident, or good at bullshitting confidence, and pretty, and annoying, and brave. And he was afraid of riding on a horse.
He leaned back just a bit, letting Kkami know to stop just by shifting his weight. Jisung’s horse also stopped, probably because it had decided Kkami was the best living being on the planet. What a smart horse. Hyunjin jumped off and patted the black horse on the nose, smiling at her.
Kkami snorted loudly.
Hyunjin grabbed the reins of Jisung’s horse and started walking. “Just relax, Sungie,” he said without looking over his shoulder. “I’ve got you.”
“What about Kkami?” Jisung sounded very relieved and adorably worried about Kkami.
Hyunjin hummed. “She’s the best. The smartest. She’ll walk with us on her own. You’re the one that needs to learn how to communicate with your horse. What’s her name?”
“Uh,” Jisung paused. “I forgot? Or they didn’t say.”
“Well, then you should start by naming her,” Hyunjin replied, and then started to talk about horses. What they liked to eat, how to care for them, what they did when they felt good and what they did when they felt scared, and what to do to calm a scared horse down. He talked about saddle care and the different kinds of signals most horses learnt from humans, and then he talked about Kkami.
Jisung listened.
And Hyunjin, the complete and utter fool that he was, talked himself hoarse (ha, get it, horse?) and taught Jisung how to not fall off his newly acquired companion.
In the afternoon, they rested by a stream, Jisung complaining about sore legs the entire time and whining when he tried to sit climb back up on the horse. Hyunjin laughed at him, which made Jisung smile brighter than the sun in the sky, and they decided they’d just walk next to their horses to relieve the stress put on Jisung’s legs. After a while, Jisung started singing again. Maybe it was chronic. Still, Hyunjin found himself enjoying the company, and if his ears didn’t betray him, Jisung’s lyrics were better now, too.
As the sun set behind some mountains in the distance, the annoying bard’s voice cracked from dehydration every few minutes. Jisung settled for humming melodies. Hyunjin caught a small animal for them to eat and build a fire on a clearing off the road. Jisung found an apple tree. As night fell, they huddled close together under Hyunjin’s thin blanket.
“I’m seriously unironically glad to have met you,” Jisung’s loud voice startled Hyunjin, who’d gotten used to the quiet and the fire’s crackling. “I forgive you for punching me in the face, too.”
Hyunjin took it all back. The annoying bard was annoying and Hyunjin did not enjoy his company at all. He sighed, pouring all his long suffering pain into the release of air.
“But only because you’re pretty,” Jisung continued his monologue.
That was it. Hyunjin couldn’t listen to another word. He leaned in, punching Jisung in the face. On the mouth. With his mouth.
Jisung made a strangled noise and returned the kiss with a small smirk in the corner of his lips.

Hello moonbeams~! Writing letters is something I’m good at, because even if I stumble in all other forms of communication sometimes, my writing, my words never fail me. The overall negative energy, annoyance and sometimes hatred towards the pandemic, the social/political topics and the year in general can be very draining and or taxing on me and you all. Of course we’re upset too but seeing so much hate can be draining for people like me, and maybe you. So for a moment, grab a seat and a blanket and listen as I read this letter to you. This is a letter from me, to you, and I offer a blessing from her majesty the moon herself as well.
2020 has been one hell of a year that’s for sure. I experienced a lot of sadness, fatigue and overall lower moods as I tend to take on the energy of the world heavily. There has been so much that’s happened to us all, sadness, fear, anger, heartbreak; but even still we survived it. There were so many that felt we wouldn’t make it through this year or make it to the end as it felt like it would go on forever, but we’re here now, to write these letters, to tell these stories.
Even in this hectic year, I experienced so much, I felt happiness, joy I cried a lot and released so many pent up feelings, I came to terms with things I had locked away, I laughed a lot, I found passions that I thought were long lost. So much has happened to me in this year both ups and downs and I’m grateful for it all. You may be wondering why I would be grateful for downs as well, they helped teach me things, how strong I am; how it’s okay to give in and feel your sadness or pain; to validate my emotions; and a lot more. I hope that with all that’s happened you were able to take in some lessons yourself.
Below this cut, I wanted to thank some people who made my experience on tumblr as wonderful as it has been, more amazing than I had ever expected it to be. I came on here extremely nervous about sharing my stories and these people have been so warm and welcoming and honestly I wouldn’t have enjoyed my time as much without them. I’ll have my ending message at the bottom of this.

To all my followers, my darling moonbeams!! Thank you so much for joining on this journey of practice and self-love that I’ve been trying to embark on. The comments, the reblogs, the likes, the asks, all of it, it means the world to me. To re-learn that it is possible for people to enjoy what I do, and not tie it to my own self-worth has been something I’m so thankful for. You all helped me learn that so thank you. I hope you continue to enjoy the stories I put out and feel free to reach out anytime! I’m so happy to have 300+ (almost 400) of you lovely moonbeams here! I hope you all have a wonderful 2021! It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, where you come from, what you identify as, what you believe in, or who you love; you are all precious moonbeams here in this haven. ⟪ song rec: Haven - Stray Kids ⟫
I know I say it a million times but since this is a wrapup letter I’ll share it again shortly. My blog was made for the main purpose of learning to appreciate my passion for writing and to not cage myself from posting and sharing my stories. I wanted to learn to write for myself and that posting stories in and of itself was the main victory, and everything else was the bonus, instead of thinking when people like it, only then is it good. I’ve done that before and having learned from it I now feel more prepared to tackle this. Thank you again for all the warm welcomes and the love I’ve received it still hasn’t quite sunk in for me and it feels so unreal. To know you all enjoy my stories and give me so much love, it’s crazy and it’s happening and I am so happy. I’m very thankful I took the leap of faith even though I was scared and decided to create this blog! 2020 challeneged me as well as pushed me and supported me. I experienced hard times yes, but I also experienced some really amazing things. I found comfort in things new and old, I feel like the quarantine made me come to terms with myself more, not run from things I wanted to confront and talk to myself more. I feel like 2020 albeit really draining in all ways, helped shape me and I got stronger because of living through this year. Now before I get any more preach-y than I already have LOL Thank you for being a part of my 2020 everyone!! I hope to have you with me in 2021 and I hope you experience the blessings of the moon like I feel we all do. See you in 2021 y’all! We’ll get through next year and the next and the next, I know it! 💜
Love Izzy
