this talk about arknights translation reminds me around when the eng dub was first added someone made an accusation that the reason amiya’s one voiceline was changed was because the voice actor was too lazy to say the full line (??)
for reference, this is the change:
ignoring the obvious stupidity of thinking voice actors have any say over the script (or that they'd do that even if they did...) that is a pretty significant change which makes you wonder... why?
luckily you can look up the different versions of the voicelines pretty easily
EN: Hehe… Doctor, let me tell you something: I picked up the violin again. KR: 헤헤, 박사님. 사실 이건 비밀인데요…… 저 다시 바이올린 연습을 시작했어요.
turns out, the part about secretly practicing for a party is only in the JP version of the line
what this means... I'm actually not sure, since Arknights was originally CN text + JP voice, so you can't say for sure either is the "right" one regardless, the reason for the EN text change is pretty easy to see--the original translation was based on the JP voiceline, but when they redid the translations in preparation for the dub, they referenced the CN line instead
so... even if you gotta mtl it actually looking at the original text can be pretty helpful in understanding why some things ended up as they are in the en version
#arknights#idk where that was even from but it still pisses me off#so sorry if this sounds overly bitter lollll#eng va get so much shit#look you don't have to use or like the eng dub#but you don't have to act like these guys are desecrating your sacred weeb game for shits either#they're just doing their job#anyway. i really want to know why this difference exists between jp and cn in the first place??#my theory is that the jp is actually the original#at least before they added cn dub#because you have some extra info (hi. destreza) there#now that they have the cn dub maybe that's changed...?#but i got no way to confirm

Some things I've noticed when I've looked at the tag for Senadina here is that people are really pushing Elysia clone allegations on her. Yes there's similarities. I actually believe some may be intentional as I have a couple thoughts on Elysia that could make theories on a connection. (Ely has some weird stuff I don't fully understand and like I wouldn't be shocked if she was actually related to Sena) But y'all are really pushing it in my opinion.
For me the big difference between how I feel and felt about both of these characters from meeting them and to now.
Elysia felt so shady at first. Like she was hiding so much and Mei was getting like crumbs every conversation and I was convinced she was going to be a twist villain because she just keeps changing the subject to flirting with Mei rather than explaining herself. I know better now that these vibes were most likely from a changed twist and she's actually sorta legit nice, but that doesn't cover how much she hides and diverts. It feels off. I'm still doing Elysian Realm chapters (but know kinda what happens from an old account) and the vibe of something being kept from me is still so strong.
Dream Senadina on the other hand was like "Hey! You wanna dance? Awesome! Okay here's how my world died, yours could also so here's these items, go find some friends and fix it. You're in charge now, bye!" Just elaborated honestly quite a lot at once to Dreamseeker/Entropy at once imo. Then you meet the playable Senadina and she jokes a bit about you dreaming of her but tbh unlike Elysia is more focused on her surroundings than DS/E and less shady because she just doesn't know what she could possibly hide and usually says whatever she's thinking anyway. She really gives puppy chasing butterfly vibes or kid in a candy store. In any twist there's something secret about her, it's probably just as much of a surprise to her too.
Mind you I haven't seen part 2 of the current story as it's not out till tomorrow for me. Could drop some nutty twist out of nowhere but I doubt it would go that far first stage of this new edition of the game.
I don't hate Elysia at all, I actually really like her. I've been kinda hoping March in star rail is either her or a Kiana counterpart. I just cannot shake how much she makes me feel like I'm being baited and I feel on edge a little. Not my favourite but like I still like her! (Sorry girlie, I'm a Pardofelis stan when it comes to realm characters) Sena just felt so much more easy to immediately trust and gives really fun silly goober (for that one person who complained about me using that word, it's a complement) vibes. Also I do play the game in the CN dub since I started my new account. I feel the CN dub makes them sound more different to eachother and JP sounds more similar to eachother so maybe that influenced some things.
I think really we can compare them but really if you pay attention there's still differences. Let's let our token Hoyoverse amnesiac exist a little longer before we decide who they are.
#honkai impact 3rd#honkai impact 3rd part 2#hi3 senadina#not tagging ely as i feel its not really right#i hope this isn't my second topaz moment where im defending a controversial character because i actually like sena a lot

As someone who played on the cn dub and sub from the start, it's crazy to me that so much of the en fanbase hates paimon. She is memed to hell in the cn fanbase, but it's all done in a playful manner, like how the traveler is in-game. At very least, paimon is mostly tolerated, instead of the genuine hatred the en fandom has.
Maybe it's translation issue or a voice directing issue. Because I never found paimon annoying on my playthroughs, but when I watch an en dub playthrough I find myself wanting to skip her dialogue.
I think it's because of paimon's soft voice and because of how much I love her and the traveler's dynamic shown in their profile voice lines and some world quests.
(That and the fact that she is one of the only characters outside of their sibling and certain NPCs the traveler actually has a clear opinion on.)
I think her dub voice definitely doesn't do her any favours - she's much less annoying to listen to in JP at the very least, but that doesn't change her very annoying role in the narrative..
For me personally, she's already set up as the kind of character I'm not really fond of. I... really need her to do something that justifies her and the Traveller being Whole Separate Characters, you know? I tolerate Mona because he's got his own whole Thing happening, and it's pretty obvious he has his Own Whole Thing happening right from the start-
I'm sure Paimon will have some big reveal eventually, but she's a real drain now.

If I could reboot
Now I know reboots of classic and beloved shows of our youth are technically looked down on in certain fanbases for arguably good reasons. But here me out I’ve been thinking and pondering on something a question of which was “If I could reboot a show, what would it be? What would I change and what would I keep?, and the most important one of all how would it still feel like the original show or series and not step too far into fanfic territory?” ( and with that I mean your just doing your own thing and straying real far from the source material.)
So for what I came up with was if I could I would give the Powerpuff Girls another try. I know the 2016 version is one that is not in particularly loved especially by me & on top of that I didn’t really watch the show I just saw a couple of clips and from what I saw I didn’t really care for it. Which kind of saddens me because I loved the intro that CN released for the show when it was announced that they were brining them back. And also I love the PPG’S a whole bunch. So much so that when I found out that there was an anime version of the PPG’S I instantly wanted to watch it and luckily YouTube hade a couple of episodes uploaded and some were even dubbed which was helpful.
And let me tell you I also loved the anime versions of these girls and the changes they made for them. I mean yeah at first when I watched it I was a little taken aback with what they have changed but to me they weren't that jarring. I liked how they weren’t really sisters and how they became a cute friends, I liked that they went the route of them being “magical girls” and transforming into the hero selves. On top of it all to me at least it still felt like it was the Powerpuff girls, nothing was too different that would have me to dislike or hate it.
But what where here to talk about is what I would do if I was to revive this show. What I would do is combine the original Powerpuff Girls & Powerpuff Girls Z. Keep the 60s modern feel for setting and have the characters designs simple but close to an anime artstyle. Like for example Magical DoReMi’s style or say Studio Triggers style. Have the backgrounds in watercolor like in Sailor Moon or any old studio Ghibli movie. For concept we can take form PPGZ by having the girls 1) not be related. 2) have them hit by piece of an asteroid that landed near Townsville. 3) have the Professor be their gradian for helping them with their powers. 4) keep magical girls aspect of the show. What to take from the original PPG would be 1) their names. 2) their Villans. 3) setting ex: Townsville, USA. 4) Characters in general. 5) the girls personalities. 6) professor being single & a scientist.
What would I add would have to be 1) I would add some characters from the ‘16 reboot. only because I feel like they could be better characters if written and handled well. For ex. Sapna or even Bliss ( the one many didn’t like because of how she felt like a character the art directors kids made and forced the team and working staff to write a story about her and put her in the show.) But like I said she could be interesting if handled better. For me she is another super who works for Dick Hardly who works as an agent or sponsor for hero's in Townsville. 2) some characters from PPGZ. 3) an monster island for where the monsters live not to far from the city. 4) other hero’s that were in the old show maybe some from the 2016 show (maybe) 5) an agency that sponsor's hero’s
For the most part that's what I have in mind I might post some drawings that I have been working on. As well as more on this concept maybe get into more detail, but for now that’s it. If anyone has any suggestions or wants to answer the question of what they would reboot I would like to hear it.

that cutscene at the end of ballads and brews
I have Thoughts™ that I have to get out of my system
under the cut for spoilers and this is a long post
kaeya......... uuuuhuuuuu
we finally know how "you are our only hope" was said to him... it seemed to me like it was said very fondly and with great reluctance (in the eng dub at least)
which means kaeya was loved by his father...
I think kaeya saw it as "ruthless abandonment" for a while. but when he remembers what his father said to him, we see that he doesn't look bitter or upset, but instead, smiles. means his view has changed since we first met him, or maybe even before that (because he was sent to dawn winery as a child). kaeya is now an adult, he's definitely had lots of time to ruminate over what's happened in his life as he matures.
I think this enhances Kaeya's dilemma with loyalty as both his khaenriahn? biological father and his father figure (good ol' master crepus) from mondstadt both love/loved (in master crepus' case, rip). whichever side he picks, he betrays the love from the other. when the time comes for him to face khaenriah again, I wonder how he'll react.
other things I loved in this event:
- hoyo revisiting older characters and their lore + what varka's been doing
- razor lore! i didn't expect to enjoy it so much
- Adeline. bless her. thanks to her we get shy kaeya. and he stays for dinner. because he can't say no to Adelinde. she is the MVP of the dawn winery.
- amber and eula coming to the KoF stall together and eula buying her squad and amber food. made me go "awww"
- albedo donated the money he gets from copyrights... he's a good boy
- ragbros reconciliation. my god. they're trying, and it does show. please hoyo let make them hug or pat each other's heads or something
- kaeya smile. razor remembers him as 'grown-up with fake smile' (I believe?) but here he is genuinely smiling. this is his real smile. his real smile is very sweet. hoyoverse I'm begging you can we please have more opportunities to see Kaeya's real smile. I want my boy to be happy (´;ω;`)
JP: ここに残れ
also! out of curiosity I looked at the Chinese and Japanese for what Kaeya's father said. the meaning of the words are about the same, but the way it is said sounds different from each other (to me) so it could imply different emotion. (from here on out it's me being a nerd. don't take it as fact because it's a highly unprofessional analysis.)
the JP transcript I had to do it by ear so it could be wrong. cn transcript I went on bilibili and found a video of the cutscene.
お前は我々の希望だ
悪く思うなよ、ガイア
TL: (I'll) leave you here. you are our hope. don't feel upset about this, kaeya...
JP dub sounds so reluctant to leave kaeya... :')
cn: 留在这里吧
你是我们的希望
不要怪我,凯亚…
TL: (I'll) leave you here, then. you are our hope. don't be upset, kaeya...
aiya the 不要怪我 feels weird for me cos literally it's "don't blame me" but if I translate it as that and read it, it feels incomplete like "don't blame me? for what?"
the 怪 is like kaeya was wronged and could blame his dad for ruining his life, which means directing hatred toward him. same with the 悪く思うなよ in JP (no hard feelings/don't think poorly of this) where the act of leaving kaeya behind is a wrong done to kaeya that he can be mad about
so I interpret this as his dad is asking kaeya not to be mad at him for leaving behind his own son to fend for himself in a foreign land. there is a mission that must be completed but it puts kaeya at risk, so I think it's his dad's way of apologising for having kaeya do it. I think if I were to lengthen it a bit the whole thing would be "stay at this place. you are our people and homeland's only hope. for this reason, please don't be upset at me for leaving you here."
eh but I'm not trained in translation or linguistics I could be wrong

Thoughts and Reaction to SIMPLEMAN
A day late but that's what happens when good subs aren't out until the next day, and you're busy that day. This episode is so sweet and wholesome that it was worth it, for sure. I'm still not sure which one is Ella and which one is Etta. They're always addressed together so I just don't know, but I'd like to. ;-; (Note: Looked it up on Wikia, the one in pink with seafoam earrings is Etta, the one in seafoam and pink earrings is Ella) See Nino knows. Nino's concerned about Marinette babysitting three kids already. He lives with one all the time, times that by 4 and WOO that's crazy. Sweet of her to want to ensure her best friend has some time to relax with her boyfriend. Oh. OH those poor Kwami! Especially Fluff and her ears being pulled like a game of tug-of-war! I can see it now, Fluff now traumatized by young kids. So if Alix ever has any in the future, they better grow up knowing about Fluff right away or she's in for a horror show. PV TRAILER AND MUSIC! I'm such a fan of the music and the PV that when my sister told me about it, it made me even more excited for this episode than I already was. And I was very excited already! Manon: So? Aren't you going to answer it? She knows what's up. So Adrien's calling asking Marinette to help sew on a wing? Because nobody else there can do it? I dunno, sounds kind of sus to me, Adrien. Are you sure you're not using that as an excuse just to see your "friend"?
Marinette's biggest problem is thinking so far ahead in her brain that when she goes to speak, she's either way far ahead of herself or gets everything mixed up as it comes out of her mouth. If she just lived in the moment and didn't plan (which being Ladybug that's probably very hard not to do outside the costume), she'd be able to do this and overcome that fear of rejection as well. She seems to have that part fairly taken care though. When Gina said she was in China to learn Kung Fu and met a girl that reminded her of Marinette, instantly thought about Fei. How could it not be her? Rolland gets asked to babysit, immediately is like "Let's do something fun and dangerous!" Tom must have had an interesting childhood with Rolland and Gina. o.o Clearly Rolland doesn't realize who the heroes are based on. Or just completely forgot he met them when Bakerix. xD Adrien's so sweet with Marinette, even if he can't understand a single thing she says. That's adorable. But a really good way to thank her could've been "Would you stay and watch the photoshoot, and then maybe we could go do something fun/get something to eat after?" BOOM. Problems solved. But I have a feeling this may come back later, and maybe that would turn out better. Marinette's grandparents tend to give Hawk Moth/Shadowmoth the most sass and trouble in comparison to other Parisians. XD Rolland is so sweet to these kids, and they are so caring towards him. It's so wholesome! Just think: if that helicopter wasn't crashing behind her, she would've screamed she loved Adrien. So close. Simpleman is the chillest akuma. Being all "Hey kids, even though I'm akumatized, let's go out into the city!" and the kids are like "Yeah, okay. Hey let's get ice cream!"
Him protecting them from all the flying pizza boxes that guy was throwing around everywhere was super sweet too. LB and CN: Things are complicated. So we should find Shadow Moth directly. Let's run around the city screaming for him to come find us so we can fight him! I seriously think if Chat Noir or Ladybug brought up the fact that their identities made things complicated, they would've revealed themselves right then and there. LOL at the old school fighting and them behaving like young children xD "NO!" "I'm NaNa, ClaCla is no longer with NaNa! Paris is really messy! BuggyBug, KittyKity, help us!" Oh this is going to be so hilarious in the English dub with the voice actress who also voices Nathalie. XDDD A bouncy ball is very complicated for Ladybug. That a literal 5 year old can figure out. Wow this villain's power sure did a number on her. xD I find it all the more stressful actually, that Chat Noir and Ladybug can remember what they were doing the whole time they were affected by the akuma. That means if Marinette said she loved him, or they revealed their identities, there would be no going back or being able to make an excuse for it. Can we just talk about how those kids could understand that the reason he wants things to be simple and is upset that the world is so different, is because it scares him and he doesn't think he's capable of learning and changing with the world? A majority of adults these days can't even take two seconds to try to understand someone else's situation(s) before judging and being outright nasty people towards them. Yet these kids were able to do so. And a lot of kids actually are like they are in real life. Some may see this as an episode just for kids to appreciate, but there's a lot in here that's aimed at adults, too. Adults need reminders and these lessons just as much, if not more so than young kids. It's adults that lose their way and needed to be reminded of it, as they have a greater immediate impact on the world. I've seen so many people judge Rolland, make assumptions about him which is almost always the very worst things they could think of. But this episode shows how caring and willing to learn and understand he really is, he was just hiding behind his fear of change and not being able to keep up with it. Some lessons in this episode for the adult viewers are: -You're never too old to learn, get over your fears, try new things, become a better person, and see things through new eyes. -Don't over-complicate or overthink, but don't be lazy and think keeping everything simple will actually in reality be the answer, sometimes it can make things worse! -Kids tend to see the world as things are, not what they think it should be, or believing they're the center of the universe like adults tend to do. -Being wise means knowing that regardless of your field, educational background, age, or lived experiences, you don't know everything, there is always more for you to learn about everything out there. The kids in this show are quite wise, as they know that there is so much they don't know and how they treat learning new things. They also know how adults tend to understand, or act like they understand everything, so we as adults aren't used to it when we don't and react negatively to that because it scares us when we don't know. In that way, this episode was very brilliant! Also that hug at the end, oh you can bet these kids are going to want to go visit Grandpa Rolland, and honestly I'd love to see bits of them here and there, their bonds are adorable and they've changed his life in such a positive way. Also the pure Ladynoir without another hero or Alya or any kind of upsetting situation was honestly such a breath of fresh air! Maybe not the kind of Ladynoir people wanted, but it made me happy. Marinette acknowledged her problem is she's scared of Adrien rejecting her. First step is admitting it! Can't blame her for not being able to do what she wanted, she only just realized the issue after all. It's going to take a little time now to work on it! Is it just me, or
does it seem Adrien's almost trying not to laugh when she was messing up and then asked if he liked fishing? XD Maybe it was the actors tone with the facial expression but it seemed that way! But the way he just watches her run away and does that adorable little chuckle... Oh Adrien, we really need you to start realizing why you keep doing that. "She (Ladybug) reminds me of your grandmother and you know what? You look exactly like her (Ladybug)." Well. Oop. He's onto you! Apparently Rolland isn't blind, as not a single character suspected her from her personality or appearance to be Ladybug so far. Even Adrien only began piecing it together due to circumstances (and his own personal wish that Marinette is LB, you can't convince me otherwise this isn't true). This is going to come back later, possibly Dearest Family? Overall such a good episode with a lot of things in it, if you decide to watch without high expectations or biases. After all the angst lately, it was certainly needed as a nice change of pace.

I NOTICED A THING AND IT MAKE MUCH MORE SENSE IN FRENCH DUB OMG
i swear i never learned french but somehow i managed to spell it right after several attempts and in second transformation adrien said 'amelioration', not 'transformer moi'
which means improvement
in eng dub in both transformation he said claws out as always, though the new heroic music theme of transformation already tells a lot.
and it confirms my opinion now. lately i really thought that this special is focused on adrien/cat noir to overcome his fears, preconception, carelessness and become more responsible hero. since there's no master fu, lb needs his support and more serious participation in their hero's duty.
also i want to talk about opening and closing titles
in the beginning it shows us lb and cn only with their miraculous glowing. the first is cat noir's ring and also two frames aimed to his baton and bell (i guess?).
lb is not in the center of the frame and her miraculous barely stands out, there's also a part of eagle as a hint, so it means that ladybug is not that important to the plot. she had already formed as a hero, she's the main face and protector of paris and also a guardian of the miraculous box now. she needs no improves as a hero, but she needs improves as a guardian. i hope it will happen in shanghai special.
cat noir is also a hero and the face of paris, but he always was treated as a sidekick. lb is changing her attitude towards him step by step and in special finally understands that she can't be ladybug without him. she already valued him a lot but in the beginning of special still disliked his frivolousness, especially than it's about something important (when he gave her a yellow rose she wasn't that negative towards his behavior, she finds him cute and funny but only in the right moment for flirt). parisians don't take him into account as much as ladybug, master fu mentioned and thanked him after ladybug. he's always the second one.
chat himself chose the role of a joker and entertainer of the team (plagg influences his personality as well), which also allows adrien to have fun out of his boring being-perfect-son routine. and we know this so we don't blame him. but no one in paris and ladybug as well don't know his civilian life. that's why everybody doesn't take him seriously.
ending
"the only way for you to grow is to us for let you take chances" - majestia said. i think it's foreshadowing on how marinette/ladybug gave chat the second chance by giving the ring to uncanny valley. she didn't knew if he would agree to return but she hoped with all her heart and believed in him. it's also comparable to how sparrow didn't call knight owl and was punished for that (and everything that happened in general). but later admitted that her sparrow was ready to became the eagle.
so in the end card we don't have lb at all. it confirms aforesaid. chat has the same frames, but now the ring and baton are together. maybe it means he controls his power better and wiser. (also i noticed that his baton changed the colour or just became darker, but it could be because of lighting)
there's also uncanny valley and eagle fully represented and chat is in a line with them. in the special both of them introduced as new heroes in miraculous world. does it mean that chat is now a whole new hero, new person?
all of them also united by being reborn in special. uncanny was healed by lucky charm, sparrow became eagle by wielding its miraculous well, and chat overcame his fears, gave himself one more chance.
"we have to give ourselves a chance because we are the last chance" - jess said.
after getting the ring back chat didn't even think about making puns or flirting with ladybug. yeah, because of the situation and in future episodes he might let his cheeky side out, but for now we have the real big improvement in cat noir's character, which will influence ladynoir dynamic for sure.

Hello!! Yesterday morning after reading the first announcement, I wouldn't have expected this mlqc issue to grow this severe and serious as it did on social media!! Maybe I didn't realize how serious the consequences are and I feel a bit ashamed that I didn't understand sooner. I'm slowly getting more and more concerned about this issue.
I just don't know who to talk to about it and I've just been checking everywhere for updates on Twitter or Tumblr or Instagram. I can only think of maybe four possible outcomes . . .
1. Papergames (with government approval?) accept the apology from the VA and everything can be back to normal (as normal as it can) with revised contracts to make terms clearer. I hope for this scenario but . . . I'm not sure if it's likely after seeing the Papergames customer service response.
2. The game will continue but the VAs will change.
3. The ENG server gets shut down.
4. The game continues but with CN dub instead.
This issue started by a few words and I'm just so worried I don't know what to do and I don't know who to rant to about it! It's so hard to focus on anything but this. I know it's just a game but I think the implication of Papergames' action raises concerns (kind of like the SP Valentine event). It is awful especially because they have to obey their government's laws.
I don't think Victor's VA is wrong but I can't help wonder if he regret saying those few words because of the domino effect it lead to for the mlqc community?
When I saw that you welcome rants, I tried not rant but I can't help it! I rewatched the older chapters PV, thinking of the simpler times! I think I just want to talk to someone about this. Thank you so much for reading! I hope we'll get the official announcement soon with good news . . .
Hello! You are completely fine coming to me to rant/vent. I literally said my ask was open for that so please be okay with it :)
Sadly not a lot people know the issue between China and Taiwan. I have a history degree so I pay attention to a lot of this kind of thing when it comes up in the news or just the overall history of it so I knew about it. I don’t think you should feel bad because honestly if you weren’t directly involved/knew the history between the two countries how would you know? It’s okay to not know things, but I do think it’s important to educate yourself when stuff like this comes to light.
In regards to the game continuing things are not looking very good right now. They could very much get new voice actors but “firing” Jonah so publicly all over a tweet saying a country is a country I guarantee will put them on a black list for voice actors not wanting to work for them. The voice acting community is very close knit too. So personally I think the game is going to shut down the Chinese government isn’t going to bend to this because it would make them look bad. I’m an American so I am completely against censorship & the very fact that he literally just said Taiwan is a country shows how corrupt the Chinese government is. & they do this with pretty much everything, censorship is everywhere.
Jonah had every right to say what he said. They had no legal reasons to fire him whatsoever & there was nothing in their contract about this too. & the fact that they thought they could do this without the EN server becoming outraged just goes to show how corrupt it is to think they can do whatever they want. & we don’t do that here in America so 🤷🏼♀️
I’m not trying to sound super negative but I have a bad feeling that they will not say anything and continue on with the game like nothing happened if it doesn’t get shut down. We need to be prepared for that sadly. Again, my ask is always open! My IM thing too. Hang in there!

Three Masks - Chime/Ruri
!!! Spoilers for Main story 94 !!!
I’m using the analogy of masks because Chime in ally conversations says that everyone has a few masks they put on.
“Life is like a play, we can never truly be ourselves.”
The first mask we are introduced too is
Ruri Kazama,
the Idol
. He’s suave. Cool. Determined to reach his goal. We don’t really know much about him. Just that he’s Chisei’s little brother and the Dragon Lord of Devil clan. (literally wearing a mask too!)
Our second “mask”, is what lies beneath the mask. Ruri’s mask is now gone, and we’re left with sweet baby boy, Chime Gen. He’s vulnerable and sensitive. Chime says: “this is my real face, up until now you’ve only seen me in make up.” This is true, raw Chime. No get up, no mask, no cool idol persona. Just Chime. Sounds completely different from Ruri.
And our third and final mask is Ruri Kazama the Dragon Lord. This is the terrifying Dragon Lord Ruri had been hyped up to be.
In story 94, we hear Ruri go back to that deep, cool suave voice. But he warns us, asking Luminous to leave. Because he doesn’t know what he’ll do. He’s aware he’s not going to be in control. Ruri the idol... is Chime and Ruri working together.
Jiang Nan, the og author of the Dragon Raja Novels, says that Chime’s greatest moment is right here. When he bets his life on Luminous to win. He was close to meeting Chisei and you know what, he could have! Maybe if he left Luminous and ran to Chisei he could tell him everything and for a second things could be ok...
But no, Chime truly bet EVERYTHING he had on Luminous. He gave in to Osho’s call to turn back into Ruri Kazama so he could save Luminous. Ruri the idol and Chime are placing their hopes in Luminous, even if that meant giving up the chance to finally see Chisei again. When Ruri leaves that’s Chime’s consciousness fading away back into the depths of Ruri’s heart. In Jiang Nan’s words… Chime was crying and screaming as Ruri walked further and further away… (so sad that even HE felt sad writing it lmao)
And we are left with the Dragon Lord, Ruri Kazama, he’s unhinged with no Chime to filter his violent tendencies. Jiang Nan described Ruri Kazama as a puppet, a puppet struggling to break free from his master.
I noticed in both the ENG and CN dubs, Ruri sounds A LOT like Chime. But this time more, uh.. insane. Imo, it feels like it’s in a mocking way... . cont below.... But if you don’t want to know full context, Ōshō’s plan is riding on “SHUT UP CHIME!!!”. There’s a reason he doesn’t want Chime to meet with Chisei.
!!! If you haven’t gone past 103-112, stop here. MAJOR spoilers !!!
Now, going to 106-109, Ruri Kazama goes after Chisei in his dreamworld, recounting their childhood and further explaining his heartbreak and Chisei’s betrayal. Chisei thinks Chime really did turn into a Devil, although he’s happy to see him alive, he still choses to raise his sword. Ruri in the end wins, but when he does. He feels nothing, he’s won but has gained nothing from killing Chisei. You can notice when this happens, Ruri is all cocky like hahaha I got u bro I winnnnnn... But you hear that sad Chime voice returning... From there, Chime— by now is screaming, crying, BEGGING Ruri to be let out and is starting to take over.
“Brother? Brother...?” “No! Please don’t leave me!” “I’ll never stop listening to you…!” Chime cried his heart out, he cried and cried and cried.
Chime never really did anything wrong, like Chisei he was manipulated and used. He was close to breaking free, Herzog admits, but not quite enough to change his and his siblings fates.
We know that Ruri the Dragon Lord isn’t really Chime, at all. Just by comparing what Chime knows vs what Ruri says. In 89 Chime tells us that Osho intends to make the Light King’s power into his own, BE the Light King. However Ruri thinks he’s going to host the Light King (103), Chisei has to break it to him that it’s not gonna happen that way lol. Chime in 94, just before his consciousness fades away, he tells Luminous that he lied and that “[Chime] was just afraid that [they'd] leave [him]”. Later, Chisei asks Ruri, “Chime, do you really want to be King? Isn’t that type of King lonely? When you were little, you were afraid of being alone.” And Ruri responds, “haha, brother what are you saying? We’re all grown up now, aren’t we?”(103) But we 100% know Chime is afraid of people leaving him lmao, if that was really Chime he’d be BAWLING.
So what I’m saying is, we only meet the real Chime in 85-94, and again in 106-112. In a way, Chime was dead, it was only recent he’d come back. Herzog said Chime was surprisingly very strong in that way.
Oh and lastly, here’s a list of predictions/observations Chime makes and gets right! Aka why the plan was “SHUT UP CHIME!!” Issue was that it was easy to distrust Chime, also middle child gets ignored 🙃
“You’re clever, Chime. You’ve guessed a lot.” -(Herzog, 109)
Osho will return for Chime (he needs him for the plan to work)
Osho will eat everyone including Chime. (Technically)
Masamune plans to use the evolution pill on Erii. (Osho uses Erii as a vessel)
Chisei only shows 10% of what he’s thinking (true! Chisei disguises his feelings with justice talk.)
Chisei doesn’t get the whole picture. (No one tells Chisei jack shit lmao)
Osho does not want Chime to talk to Chisei. (again, plan “shut up Chime”)
Erii can rival the dragon lord (OG ending of Dark Moon tide was Erii defeating the light king, but then Jiang Nan wrote Chime lol)
Luminous can kill the dragon lord. (sounds stupid but he was right)
“do you think we need your brother’s power to defeat the King’s Blade?” “No.” (lol sorry Chisei....)
“Is it righteousness? Or just merciless?” (Merciless. Herzog reveals himself to be ALSO Masamune can u believe it? Chime can’t he was just as shocked as I was lmao)

I'm going to bring out a controversial ask. What are your thoughts on Chat's behaviour in Copycat? I have seen so many salters absolutely wreck the boy for that episode, especially for his last line about being heartbroken. Was what he did wrong? Completely. But I'm pretty sure he knows that. He never acted upon it again and defiently improved since then.
(Not gonna lie, Copycat was one of my favorite episodes during S1, haha)
Honestly, Ladybug herself wrecked him twice in front of him in that episode.
First, with this statement
LB : Chat Noir may annoy me to pieces, but he's never lied to me. CN : Thanks for the compliment... I think.
LB’s line is slightly different in the French dub. She points out “Chat Noir has a ton of flaws”. Still, goal is the same, even if she praises him for not being a liar, the first part hurt his ego there because it is what LB thinks of him. That he is not great. Decent, but not great.
Then we got this line a bit later.
CN : I’m so glad you could tell the real cat from the fake one. LB : Once I’ve figured out which Chat was really in love with me, it was a no brainer.
Here, CN understands that LB thinks he is joking about his feelings.
Throughout S1, LB is unaware of CN’s romantic feelings for her are genuine. Ever since Stoneheart part 2, she considers CN to be a jokester, so she interprets his flirting attempts , his charming attitude and the little nicknames he gives her as casual bantering. In other words, she doesn’t take him seriously.
So yeah, coming from his crush, this is bound to heartbreak him and he is just mentionning the obvious to himself and the audience. But I don’t think this was made to pity him but rather to show the consequences of his actions. That LB won’t love him for being jealous. And the episode never depicted Chat Noir as a winner after his display of jealousy.
I mean, when we watch the episode, we follow CN’s POV, yes, but his actions during that episode are never glorified or rewarded. Instead, Chat Noir is the butt of the joke. The Akumatized personifies him, makes him look like a bad individual and ridicules him. The police doesn’t believe CN and lock him down. Plagg’s comment about Adrien’s jealousy was on point. Chat Noir got trapped and outwitted and was unable to defeat the Akuma by himself like he intended. And finally, LB made some remarks about CN that annoyed/hurt him but were true.
Honestly, everything was against Chat Noir there because of his actions (I loved the episode for that).
Should CN have verbally apologized to Théo about lying to him and for being jealous? Of course! Would he had done so if LB wasn’t there? Who knows. However, LB was present and it was an important variable in the equation.
Should CN have told LB the truth instead of concealing it? Yes, but that he not what CN wanted. He sure didn’t let her know what happened when he called her when infiltrating Théo’s workshop.
LB : Chat Noir, where are you? CN : I’ve found his den. LB : Who? CN : My copycat. LB : I’m not getting you. CN : If you have been there this morning, you would know what I’m talking about. LB : Well, tell me where you are? CN : No. This is between me and him. I got myself into this mess, so now I’m going to get myself out.
Anyway later, during the battle against Copycat, LB stated she doesn’t like liars. And what did CN do earlier? Lie to Théo. And to complicate the matter, LB is oblivious about CN’s romantic feelings for her. Chat Noir already lost there and prefered to leave ASAP that telling her he got jealous. That doesn’t justify his actions but I can understand why he prefered to avoid the subject. Since he was about to detransform, he used it as an excuse and leaves, the tail between his legs, saving what he can. This is the consequences of his jealousy and he learned his lesson. If he wants LB to love him one day, he needs to not act jealously from now on. Otherwise, he is no better than his copycat.
Again, taking his leave without explaining what actually happened is not the most mature reaction (not to mention LB didn’t demand him to explain himself), but it is not the worst either. Imagine if he had left the scene as a sore loser fueled with angst against LB and/or Théo?
Here, he is just sad and mentions that both Théo and him have in common there. Only, he doesn’t get to be cheer up by LB.
Now, another rant some had with the episode is that CN made LB believed Copycat was her fault.
One thing to note though is that LB did miss the statue inauguration. She was supposed to be there. It was an engagement she took because everyone expected her to show up -- along with CN -- and waited for her. And it was important for Théo that LB was present at the unveiling because he wanted her to sign the picture he used as inspiration for his sculpture. He even plead the Mayor to wait a few more minutes, hoping LB would finally come. However, unbestknown to him, it was more important for LB to erase the embarrassing voicemail she had accidently left to her crush that taking part of an official ceremony she said she would be present to. And her absence did wound Théo as Hakwmoth pointed out :
“Disappointed by Ladybug and jealous of Chat Noir, the perfect formula for disaster”.
But like their whole phone discussion informed us, Chat Noir isn’t blaming her for his actions. If she had been there, she would have witnessed what happened, yes, but he also admits this mess was his fault. Thus why he was so adamant to solve things by himself and didn’t want LB to get involved. And LB sure didn’t wanted to talk about what emergency hold her and never demanded an explaination from Chat. So both avoid talking about what happened that morning and sweep it under the rug for different reasons.
The “his crush just got crushed” line is not Chat Noir made-up excuse either. It is still true as LB did break Théo’s heart for not being there at the unveiling ceremony of the statue he has worked so hard on. Thus why she apologized, signed the picture and complimented his work. She is not taking the blame for the Akumatization here. She is only apologizing because she has missed the ceremony she was supposed to attend. Nothing more.
If anything, Chat Noir displayed some empathy to Théo and gave him an occasion to have a few private minutes with LB. Which is definitively better than CN’s jealous reaction of keeping Théo away from LB from the beginning.
It is not a verbal apology from Chat, but this occasion obviously meant a lot to Théo even if the gesture is small. And Chat Noir is not rewarded or thanked for it because this should have been done from the beginning instead of letting his jealousy kick in.
Now, people can dislike the episode or disagree with that ending, saying it wasn’t satisfying enough for them. It’s their opinion. The morale of that part of the episode clearly shows that letting your jealousy get the better of you doesn’t make you a winner. Did they wanted more angst? Did they wanted Chat Noir to suffer even more for being immature and making a mistake by letting his emotion get the best of him? Should the show have expanded and explored on that venue on his character? Maybe for that last point. After all, they sure did so with Marinette afterwards like in Volpina, Animaestro or Ikari Gozen for example. And I know they are fans who are tired of romantic jealousy / envy interfering during a part of an episode. Because we -- older audiences -- already know that acting while motivated by such feelings is not romantic. That jealousy ain’t cute and can hurt other.
However, I don’t know what to say if there are people still mad over how a character acted during one episode that aired ages ago as we are currently waiting for S4. Not to mention Chat Noir is finally moving on from his crush on LB as shown during the S3 finale. The character is not at the same place anymore in his development. Like you can keep a character actions and reactions in mind as they might ressurface under different contexts in order to compare and note if there was a change. But aside of that? What use is there to be still mad? That, I will never understand I’m afraid =/

ML AU idea - Miracle Gang
A while back, I posted some sketches I made of a Kwami Swap AU, that my sister dubbed The Miracle Gang. So, here’s what it would actually be. It’s heavy AU, though I’ll try to keep it as close to canon as possible.
First, some changes to the lore before we dive into this:
Outside of Peacock and Butterfly, two other Miraculous have been lost - the Rabbit and the Mouse. The Peacock and Butterfly had been taken by someone shortly after the temple fell, but the Rabbit, Mouse and the Grimoire would be found over a century later by Emilie and Gabriel on their honeymoon.
Emilie is dead. She also dies much earlier than in canon, when Adrien was still very young. Nathalie was a mother figure to him for majority of his life and she and Gabriel have actually gotten married some time after.
I’m not entirely set on how Emilie died, but it’s not a broken Miraculous. I’m thinking about some kind of an accident. A stunt gone wrong? Something as mundane as a traffic accident? I dunno.
Sabine Cheng is a descendant of Fu. I’m thinking either a daughter or a granddaughter. He and Sabine don’t have a good relationship, mostly because he always had to stay on the move as the Guardian and so he was rarely with her growing up and even goodnatured and goodhearted Sabine grew to hold a bit of a grudge against him. She knew about the Miraculous and other kinds of magic. Maybe she was at one point training to become the Guardian herself? I’m not sure.
Gabriel Agreste is a decent person, though he isn’t the most involved parnet there is, because, you know, he actually does work instead of moping in his attic all day waying for the delicious teen angst to show up. He occasionally uses the Rabbit Miraculous and I’m not yet set of a name for him. Nathalie uses the Mouse and I’m working with the name Madame Souris.
Instead of Hawkmoth, there is another villain - I’m thinking about some kind of shadowy organisation, that was an enemy to the Guardian order. Once Feast destroyed the Order, they swooped in and salvaged anything left in the temple. They still are primarily after CN and LB miraculous, but they really will take any Miraculous they can get their hands on ‘cause evil and stuff.
Now, to the meat of it:
Fu and Wayzz sense there is something bad coming - that the butterfly has been activated close-by and there is something wrong about it.
Same as in canon, he selects Adrien and Marinette as Miraculous holders to fight this enemy.
The “test” for Adrien is probably a little different, though, because instead of running away trying to get to school, he’s just going happily with his step-mom and bodyguard (his dad had too much work or something, but he did say goodbye to him before he left and stuff.)
He goes to give Marinette her Miraculous first, but is spotted by Sabine and told to go away (I’m thinking he put Sabine or someone close to her in danger with the Miraculous before and she just doesn’t want it to happen again. That seems in character for her.) He’s not capable of actually delivering the Miraculous and goes back to his appartment to rethink - at that time, he gets attacked by the bad guys and is forced to run with the Miracle Box.
He still has issues transforming, so he runs to Sabine, hoping she would help him. He doesn’t find her or Tom in the shop (they’re having a lunch break) and while he’s trying to figure out what to do, a mail truck arrives with something for the Dupain-Chengs. With Wayzz’s help, he hides the Miracle box in one of the delivery boxes. Then, he first renounces Wayzz and then gives the Guardianship over to Marinette. (Trust issues between him and Sabine go both ways).
Marinette comes back from school and finds her package (maybe some sewing/designing stuff? Fabrics? It’s like Alpha version of this story, I’m still working out the details). She takes it upstairs to her room and opens it there, finding the Miracle Box.
At first, she’s confused, thinking she got the wrong package, but she still opens the box out of curiosity. She sees all kind of jewelry inside, with a couple spots empty. She grabs the ring, trying it on, when suddenly, Plagg appears...
To be continued

Biggest Villanos Worry
So I have been a fan since day one of the initial shorts of Villanos and by golly I can't stress enough how amazing it is that I never heard of Alan ln before or ThatPlaceToHangOut.
What I want to say is that for once we finally have a Mexican Series made by a Mexican Creator with a Mex crew, etc.
Having been a fan of animation these last few years was amazing honestly, but representation for Spanish Speakers/Latinos/etc definitely left a lot to be desired. The greatest Modern Mex Animation Creator Jorge Gutierrez has hardly seen any light since The Book of Life and don't even get me started on El Tigre's cancellation.
Mexican projects of animation in any form will always be second fiddle to U.S., European, or Japanese projects and thats just a fact anyway you see it. Hell, its such a rarity that the two most well known big hit Mexican Animated Films were Coco and The Book of Life and even then audiences couldn't help compare the two bc they focused on the same holiday.
I'm getting off track, as I was saying my main concerns with Villanos at this point will definitely be that it'll start focusing its efforts towards a more English Speaking audiences than Spanish ones.
The Pilot Dubs already confirm this fear of mine, as you can see the differences and I know for a fact the the studio funding them will eventually say that changing the languages in the backgrounds will be too time consuming and expensive and the one language that they'll eventually keep is English. Tell me otherwise.
And the fact that the majority of the crew who helped animate the project already walked out delivered a heavy blow to my hopes and faith in the show. Now the animators that have been working for months on end side by side and understand the show as much as Alan are gone. Apparently CN is going to replace that crew and that could mean any number of things from quality, priorities, compromises, i feel as though Villanos is heading away from Alans original vision and the fans who really upstarted the show by showing how much Latin and South American audiences felt with passion the shows identity and appeal, will be given the less for what they came to expect from the show. And maybe even be the last to be given their dubs in exchange for the more valued ratings and audiences of English Speaking fans.
But regardless of how the show turns out I wish nothing but success upon it.
Eso, y muchisimas Gracias a todos ustedes que le dieron todo su esfuerzo a un estudio que no valoro su trabajo. Bendiciones y Suerte Crew!

Powerpuff Girls 2016 - “Drama Bomb”
Written by: Haley Mancini
Written & Storyboarded by: Alicia Chan, John West
Directed by: Nick Jennings, Bob Boyle
More drama for your mamas...and daughters.
The episode begins with the beginning of a school play based on the food pyramid from the 90's, with everyone dressed up as a food item. Not only do we see the return of Robin Snyder in a sort of voiced role, though we never quite get to hear just her voice, we get to see all of our favorite students. And by favorite students, I mean just Barry. Go, Barry, you spinning bowl of chicken noodle soup, you.
Unfortunately, the kid's talents are not showing here, as they're all painfully off-key. Even the last episode that focused on play's idea of Blossom and Jared being the main stars of Townsville Elementary's drama class has seemingly been thrown out, as at least Blossom gets an intentionally bad singing voice as well. Instead, it's Bubbles that's the big star, as she gets to properly sing the big ending song about how treats are good when they're part of a...something. She couldn't figure out the last word in her song, much to the joy of the drama teacher.
A Star Is Blossom still has to be canon, because this episode also features Ms. Moss, the drama teacher that just can't believe she's working with such children. The joke, of course, being that these children are, in fact, children. At least, most of them are obviously children, at least one of them are pretty questionable.
She at least has a good reason for this sudden bout of perfectionism: the stakes have changed. After Buttercup, who is in the play as a T-Bone steak, does the obvious joke with that, she reveals that Citysville's greatest playwrite is coming to this elementary school, and if this play was good, they could go on tour with this amazing play about fruit!
We cut right from the failed rehearsals to the final version of the play, which is, according to a sign gag and not anything in the play itself, The Five Food Groups: A Hero's Journey. Even after watching this episode several times, I'm not sure what the "A Hero's Journey" is supposed to signify. I would guess it's supposed to refer to this plot about the Tomato, played by everyone's favorite brick, in his journey to identify whether he is a fruit or a vegetable, but where does Bubbles' song fit in all of this?
Then again, it's more likely one couldn't even make out what these kids are singing, as they're off-key and can't seem to sing in-time either. Of course, this is all intentional, but it's still bad enough to be hard to listen to. Ms. Moss hopes that Belle Lakes wouldn't notice, maybe possibly giving her a slight break since these are just elementary school students.
That's not the case, as she's bored watching this drivel. Finally, a character I can relate to. But hey, at least that lady right next to her is loving it! Also loving it is good ol' Sitcom Dad, who is taking pictures with this smartphone. You'd think someone who is bad at computers would use some sort of old-timey camera. Good thing the Professor shouldn't fit that description!
This reception doesn't please Ms. Moss at all. If she doesn't do anything quickly, this performance will bomb! That last word gives her an idea.
Ms. Moss continues her affinity with using mystic objects from mystic sources, though this item is a little less fantastic than the play that summons butch viking women. In this case, it's a Drama Bomb that was given to her after she graduated at an academy for master thespians, which, for some unexplained reason, is made up entirely of people in cloaks. When this bomb explodes, it makes anyone caught in the blast 10 times more dramatic!
She happens to have this bomb in a glass case that says "In Case Of Lack of Talent", and I'd say that should have been broken 114 times by now. She calls for a brief intermission, gathering all the students, and then throwing the bomb at them. Covering everything in pink glitter, the bomb's effects appear to be negligible...at least, for a few seconds.
Buttercup: Ugh, what was that?
Blossom: I don't know...it's...
Blossom and Buttercup: Magical!
Ms. Moss quickly comes in to say this is all brilliant, and tells them to go to their places with a really ugly zoom-in to her mouth. No real explanation other than "see, Ms. Moss is cuckoo!", I'm not going to show it, and you're welcome.
Thanks to the power of that Drama Bomb, that opening song from before turns into a big, artsy, and dramatic song in the style of the Cell Block Tango scene from Chicago. The unique coloring, the similar style of the song, and it even goes right down to how the food items in the pyramid looks like they're in jail cells. Honestly, I actually like this choice in visuals.
As for the audio, it's interesting to say the least, if not that memorable or catchy. It's still the same voice actors and voice actresses singing the songs here. I was 100% thinking they were going to pull out some actual singer to dub in for these characters, but it's just the regular actors actually trying to sound good. Less ideal, but less awkward than the alternative.
There is this shot with Blossom and you-know-who embracing that's just randomly in there, even though thankfully this is not a play where Blossom and Jared are the love interests. At least, as far as the viewers can tell, anyway. It does make sense in the play, since it's either two vegetables or a fruit and a vegetable, but I cannot forget all of that baggage from those fantasy scenes from Season 1 and 2.
Belle Lakes starts to get overjoyed at this. That lady right next to her is also still liking this, though the lack of change in her expression is worrying me. And, of course, Sitcom Dad is still sneaking around, taking smartphone pictures. Now that they're supposedly talented now, there's not even a joke here other than the Sitcom Dad creeping out that one guy. I wouldn't blame him.
Blossom and Buttercup are confused, as they can't help themselves but dramatically enter rooms, make dramatic poses, and speak with dramatic lines. Well, Buttercup is just dabbing and speaking as if Bart Simpson got an even worse cold than usual, but I can see what she's trying to do. At least Blossom's Shakespeare-esque lines are fitting here, and she says them relatively well.
Suddenly, the cellphone hotline rings, and Blossom asks what evil besieges the poor Mayor, and...
...it turns out that this episode features Discount Jojo as the villain again, stealing the dome from Town Hall as a decoration! I would say that this continues a streak with episodes with main villains voiced by Roger L. Jackson, but Ms. Moss is a far bigger threat here.
The Puffs attempt to leave, only to be stopped by the power of the Drama Bomb. As Ms. Moss explains, the show must go on, who cares if Townsville becomes a burning crater in the ground. She doesn't exactly say that last line, but she might as well say it.
They don't really turn Discount Jojo's crime spree into a B-plot. We just get this one scene where Jojo is so confused that, no matter how many crimes he makes and how long he makes his laughter, the Powerpuff Girls aren't stopping him. I guess I could see some humor in how Jojo is worried that the usual rhythm of things just isn't happening, it reminds me of that scene from that one episode of Batman: The Animated Series.
Joker: Without Batman, crime has no punchline.
It was done far better there, but I'm not going to hate on the reboot for not living up to those impossibly high standards. No dramatic lines from Jojo here, as much as it would be oddly fitting for this episode, but he does ask what could possibly be so vital that it would prevent the Powerpuff Girls from giving him a slideshow beatdown?
This at least decently transitions to the scene where Blossom dramatically exclaims that it's vital to know if the tomato is a vegetable or not, and even the Tomato does not know. By the way, if you're wondering where the Chicago styling is here, they pretty much forget about it beyond that one scene.
Also pretty much gone is any semblance of a followable plot in this play. I'm not expecting anything Shakespearean to show up in this reboot with or without that Drama Bomb, but there's no real connection between this tomato plot and Bubbles' final song.
Speaking of which, Bubbles is still moping that she can't figure out what that last word in the song is. This scene comes up way too often; it feels more like filler. I could at least appreciate them being over-dramatic, but other than that, it's just "waaah, I can't figure out my liiiines!"
In the end, they say they will do it together...as a whole! This word actually ends up being that word Bubbles was supposed to rhyme with "bowl". I mean, what else could it be? Treats are better than eating coal? You got to pay the troll toll? This show needs some quality control? Would have went with that one.
Essentially singing the same song as her attempt at the end song from the rehearsal scene from the beginning, since it was the only relatively good thing about it, I guess, she finally nails the end song with the help of her sisters. Belle really loved this play, and the uphill rollercoaster with Sitcom Dad still keeps going up without any real conclusion. What does conclude is the spell from the Drama Bomb, signified with some sparkles. The Powerpuff Girls are glad that they're finally free.
However, in the end, Ms. Moss learned absolutely nothing, as she promises to use a drama bomb on every play on this day forward, and then rolls out of the room. How she's going to get more of them will never be explained. The Powerpuff Girls seemingly pay it no mind that future plays might indirectly cause the destruction of Townsville, and decide, now that the show has ended, to finally take on Discount Jojo.
This isn't a bad way to end this episode. Such a old-school beating, not only does it end with a bruised Discount, it even comes with the classic line:
Blossom: Not so fast, Mojo Jojo!
If it actually had Bubbles and Buttercup saying Mojo and Jojo respectively, it would have been perfect, but I shouldn’t compare this show to that show’s impossibly high-to-this-show standards, either. The episode ends with a line that fits in with the rest of the episode, which is more than what I could say about some episodes.
Bubbles: And...scene!
I would have preferred a dramatic line read from Tom Kenny and hearts, but alas.
Does the title fit?
Name of the object, though it does cause drama in pretty much any way I can think of.
How does it stack up?
I'm a little in the middle with this episode. There isn’t much to the episode beyond some dramatic line reads, some better than others. However, it has some nice shots, and the songs, the ones that aren't meant to be terrible, are at least passable. It’s watchable, but I wouldn’t lie and say that yawning playwrite didn’t represent me at some points.
Next, Watch It, did they botch it?

Inazuma Showcase Spotlight: @yuumanosaka / @lulurionu
[tumblr] [art tumblr] [twitter] It shows two girls holding plushies of the person they love the most! obviously, the right is Nae holding Norika, which represents my current Inazuma OTP! and then there’s the girl on the left, which actually shows my OC holding Gouenji. she just represents as myself holding Gouenji, who is my favorite character in inazuma hhgjkd
Introduce yourself! Hello everyone! I'm Lulu. I'm 20 years old, I live in the Philippines, and I've been a fan of Inazuma Eleven for a really really really long time! I'm a mainly illustration artist, but I'm also partly a writer in the Inazuma fandom! Though, I did start out as a fanfiction writer, I gradually shifted to becoming an artist, mainly because of my interests towards art and desire to have it as a career in the future.
How long have you been a fan? How did you discover Inazuma Eleven? Somehow, I still remember how I first knew about Inazuma. It was around August 2010, and I was at home during that time. It was nighttime in our place, but it happened before dinnertime. I walked to the living room of my house where I saw that the TV was on and my brother was watching something. The channel that was on was Cartoon Network, and the show that was airing right now was...?
It was a bunch of kids playing soccer, against...aliens?! It was that episode where Epsilon was introduced, and Kogure (or Scotty, as how I first knew him) first played for Raimon. Intrigued, I sat down and continued watching it with my brothers. And then the episode finished, but it was around then that I caught on the name of the show that I watched. Inazuma Eleven, huh? Oddly, I can't remember myself watching the rest of the episodes after that...sort of. I somehow remember watching the last few episodes (of the Aliea arc), and honestly, I really enjoyed those episodes so much that I wanted to watch it all again! It was September 2010, and I began my habit of watching continuously the Aliea arc episodes from Gouenji's return, up until the finale of the Dark Emperors...with the dub version. Somehow, CN Philippines' website had those episodes, and I would find myself watching those episodes everyday after school. But as time went on, I craved for more. I was curious if there was more to Inazuma than just fighting aliens. So I searched it up on Google, and the answer I had wanted was true. There were MORE Inazuma episodes! More than A HUNDRED! I quickly typed up Inazuma Eleven Episode 100 on Youtube, because I was curious to know what was the 100th episode. And I watched it, obviously, and to my surprise...it was about Xavier...and Scotty? Why are they called Hiroto and Kogure?? Why are they together??? It was October 2010, and around this time, I discovered the original Inazuma series...in JP audio! I just continued watching the series after, finishing the original series immediately after it aired and moving on to the GO series. I also constantly rewatched a lot of the episodes during that time! I was really obsessed with Ina11, but it honestly really made me happy so I'm not complaining!
How has Inazuma impacted you since discovered the series? What does Inazuma mean to you? What has made you stick around? I think, if anything, Inazuma is the series that really cemented majority of my interests and made me who I am today!
Inazuma is the series that really made me start out both writing and drawing, it's the series that made me realize that anime is my main interest in media, and it's what got me engaged in the Internet and fandom engagement!
Also, because of Inazuma, I made so many friends! Many of my friends I met here, we all came from Inazuma! And I would like to meet and make even more friends!!!
And this series, it...really means so much to me. I really, really, really love Inazuma??? It's hard to explain how much I love this series. I honestly feel like I fundamentally wouldn't be where I am today without Inazuma, seriously! Despite it being such a pretty unpopular series, I love this series so much to bits;;;;;
I mainly stuck around because...I guess, the series really kept me interested?? Inazuma is one of those series I don't think I would ever let go,. It's too important to me! It's hard to say with words why exactly I stayed hdhhfksj;;
Who are your favourite characters from Inazuma Eleven and why are they your favourites? I started out without really having a solid favorite, until the episode where Raimon and Epsilon Kai happened. Episode 52, specifically.
Back then, I was in despair that Raimon was losing against Epsilon! And there was also a mysterious boy in a orange hoodie who kept popping up. He seemed to be in danger, why? (Please note I started watching Inazuma from Fubuki's debut.)
And then after going through a lot of trouble with aliens, the mysterious boy came to the field. I was confused to who he was, until he took off his hoodie and all of the Raimon cheered happily to see who he was.
It was Gouenji (or Axel back when I first watched)! I didn't know him at all, but from the past episodes I've watched, everyone seemed to admire him a lot. I wonder why?
And I got my answer when he began to play.
I JUST HJHKJHFDJKGF 12 YEAR OLD ME WAS AMAZED BY HIM???? HE WAS SO COOL, DODGING THEIR PLAYS AND WHEN HE SHOT FIRE TORNADO I WAS SCREAMING SO MUCH IN JOY. AND THEN THE MOMENT HE SHOT BAKUNETSU STORM WAS SO AWESOME, AND THAT SHOT OF HIM WHERE THE GOAL MADE IT IN AND HE HAD THIS COOL SMILE. IM SO!!!!!!
IT WAS RIGHT THEN AND THERE THAT HE WOULD BE MY FAVE. I LOVE HIM. I LOVE GOUENJI. i love one good flame boy sO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oops, sorry for...that. I'll be honest though, I fell in love more when he was Ishido??? Though, initially, I wasn't...accepting of this change of his. It was pretty hard for then 13 year old me at the time to accept that he was playing the bad guy! But I've changed my ways and realized...Ishido good. All Gouenjis Good.
Though, enough of Gouenji! I have other faves in the series as well!
In the OG series my faves are Kazemaru, Fubuki, Hiroto, and Haruna! My faves in GO are Kinako, Kariya, Taiyou, and Manabe! And my faves in Ares/Orion are Nae, Nosaka, and Norika!
It's hard to explain why I love them so much?? Since I got to know most of them when I was much younger and just liked them if they gave me...feelings. Anyways, yeah! Tbh, I love most of the characters in Inazuma anyway! They're all good and I appreciate them for what they are, even if they don't get to shine so much!!
Any favourite pairings? OTPs, BROTPs? Initially, I never really liked any ship in Inazuma, but I think the first pair I fell in love was RanMasa! It's my very first otp ever, so it holds a special place in my heart!
Now, aside RanMasa, I also really love NoriNae, KazeSaku, Honoo no Pride poly (Gouenji, Fubuki, & Someoka), HiroMido, Taiten, and NishiYuu!
As for BROTPs, I love Break Trio, Ares Teikoku, GO Raimon First Years, and Ares Hakuren!
Has there been any particular favourites moments within Inazuma Eleven so far? Why are they your favourites? Obviously, my favorite has got to be the Gouenji's comeback in the Aliea arc! Mainly because it's what solidified my love and appreciation for the flame striker! Though if there two other scenes that left a huge impact on me, it was probably Chrono Stone's Episode 18. Particularly, Kirino's inner struggle on how he feels that he can't keep up with Shindou, and then Kariya comes in and helps him by pretending to be sick so Kirino can go with Raimon instead to the France era. And the other, is the whole Dark Emperors versus Raimon match! I loved that episode with Kirino's struggle, mainly because it's kind of what made me love RanMasa and also appreciate both characters a lot more. Kirino is more than a pretty face, and despite Kariya knowing that he isn't on best terms with Kirino, decides to help him. It's really touching, actually, it made me love the ship!
As for the Dark Emperors versus Raimon match, it's...hard to explain why I like it so much? I think it's because I've always liked the trope of friends to enemies (for a time), and it kind of made me appreciate Kazemaru and Endou's friendship a lot!
What do you hope to happen for the next 10 years of Inazuma? Anything on your Inazuma wishlist you hope to happen in the future? Whether it be in Orion or any future IE series? I just hope nothing bad happens to the OG and new cast in Orion, please let them all play happy soccer ;____; and also, maybe an alternate GO series that follows after the Ares-verse??
Mention some awesome people, blogs or twitter accounts in the community To my long-time Inazuma PH pals, Lou, Sukki, and Ven, thank you for sticking with me for a really long time! Without Inazuma, I probably wouldn't have met you guys!! Also to my new Inazuma PH pals, Aru, thank you and hopefully we continue screaming abt Inazuma for the years to come!!
And to all the new Inazuma pals I've made during the past months since I got back into the fandom, thank you for all the fun times!! You're all cool and I love you all!
Thank you for taking part in the showcase Lulu! If you’d like to take part in the Inazuma Showcase Spotlight event, please follow the details in this post here!

So as it is the eve of Evolution’s premiere, I saw again Shadow Moth’s Last Attack (in latam spanish dub cuz it’s my fav after the french one) and I noticed some things that maybe aren’t too relevant but I’m surprised I missed them the first times I saw the s4 finale:
First I must say that the latam spanish dubbing was good but weird, there were some details in Risk that were later fixed in Strike Back, which gave me chills but in spanish (i love Jessie (LB) and Tommy (CN) so much)
In the dodgeball scene, I noticed that Francois Dupont’s entrance was changed to be more inclusive, a sort-of ramp can be seen at the right sight of the front staircase that leads to an elevator, which is huge so I can’t believe I didn’t saw it previously
Also I know this has been discussed, but I think I finally understood what was the real mistake Marinette committed: yes, I know she wouldn’t have known Adrien was actually Felix, but I think she would normally have gave it a second thought of why Adrien wasn’t infected like everyone else, tho as she was influenced by Risk and doubted-righted herself, she missed that something was off
And I forgot two vital plots of Strike Back that will be relevant: that Lila knows there’s a fake Adrien and that Gabriel cancelled the trip, so poor Adrien will be punished like in The Collector :(
Anyway that’s it, now tomorrow I’ll have to contain my hype until afternoon because in the morning I have big stuff going on so wish me luck

The new Villainous short, an analysis
Because I have nothing better to do on a weekend! Yay!
I’m pretty sure that at this point everybody knows that a new Villainous short was released today (by “today” I mean November 4 of 2017, if for some reason you are reading this in another day); there’s a ton of references in the short, and since it was in Spanish and at the time I’m writing this there’s not English version of the short (fan made or CN made), I decided to write a “small” analysis of the short video. It’s more likely that by the time I end this, tons of people already posted something like this, but I want to do this anyway. Notice that this is NOT a resume of the video.
The video starts with this:
Warning!
We are not responsible for the physical, mental and emotional damage that the comments of the Lord and Master Black Hat may provoke in the audience. It is recommended use safety googles or a helmet when you visualize this video. The prolonged exposition to this show may cause sanity loss, soul loss, hair loss, nail loss, welts, itch, hard snot, stomach ache, headache, mononucleosis, tonsil inflammation, farts, desire to pee (it says “desire to go to the bathroom”; I don’t know other places but in Mexico that means you wanna pee), arthritis and swollen eyes, spasms, uncontrollable fits of laughter, urge to wear a hat, villainy, extreme evilness, sharp fangs or teeth, hyperactivity, among others. Discretion is advised. This section is mere filler and had nothing to do with the previous one, you should stop reading before you regret it. We don’t understand why are you still reading. Seriously, nobody reads the warnings and ended watching it (the video) anyway.
Then we cut to this:
Black Hat Organization
Villain Orientation Videos
Vol. 1 of 666.
Then the video starts with tons of TV’s showing video of several Cartoon Network’s villains as the intro of “Black Hat Organization Lost Cases: Ooo, with Black Hat”. A narrator’s voice greets the watchers because it means that we want to stop being an annoyance at became great villains thanks to the capacitation of the video. Something that called my attention was the narrator’s voice. There’s a Latin-American YouTube channel that dubs fan shorts and comics from Villainous, and the narrator’s voice sounds like the Black Hat’s voice of that channel when he dubs narrators; either CN contacted that guy to work with them (which I think is pretty impossible) or the narrator is Alan himself.
Black Hat then greets the watchers but is shortly cut because he starts to insulted them as he goes mad; later he presents himself, but he says we already know it because, apparently, the short is part of the “Black Hat Organization villain orientation video ahora en español” (now in Spanish) VHS, volume 1, which apparently we bought; according to Black Hat, the point of the video is that he “will mock of the pathetic forces of evil and we will give him our money”. Later we cut to several scenes of the Lich King only to later change to Count Lemongrab, much for Black Hat annoyance. For the rest of the video Black Hat complains about how Lemongrab is, in his opinion, a pathetic villain and points other stuff too.
Regarding Lemongrab as a villain we learn this:
Black Hat says than Lemongrab voice is annoying and that he’s an idiot for not having security as he sleeps.
He shows surprise when he realizes Lemongrab has ears (as he picks his own ear).
He complains about how Lemongrab’s “minions” are “as sweet as 5.0.5.”
Lemongrab’s villain speech is pathetic and that his sentences are too long.
He says that Lemongrab has no class (as Lemongrab strips) and is ashamed of him.
Lemongrab is pathetic because he allowed the Pup Gang to be disrespectful at him.
Lemongrab’s torture chamber lacks of torture devices.
He is “a crybaby, incompetent, poorly dressed guy that only shrieks” (he calls him that as Bubblegum tries to talk with him when he’s torturing Finn, Jake and the Pup Gang.)
His mistakes are: being a big piece of… lemon (he clearly wanted to insult him in this part), being a crybaby and not hiring Black Hat Organization.
However, Black Hat praised Lemongrab when he wanted to eat the apple because that was “fruit cannibalism” and becomes proud when he “tried to eat” Peppermint Butler. He was also pleased when he blasted the Pup Gang and when he tortured them and Finn and Jake.
He ended his analysis by calling Lemongrab “deplorable” in his file.
However, in Black Hat’s opinion Princess Bubblegum (whom he calls “the bubblegum girl”) is THE REAL villain in Ooo because:
After she spikes the dirt Lemongrab was eating he says that she looks like the most intelligent person in the video and even ask Flug is she wasn’t really the villain instead of Lemongrab.
When she says that she knew a way of be her past self all the time Black Hat says with joy: “clearly this girl has a disturbed mind. I’d love to extirpate it from her…”
When Finn is putting the pieces of the candy people on Bubblegum Black Hat says that “is one of the most evil rituals he knows” because she’s using “parts of his minions” to boost herself and he says that that’s pretty effective. Then proceeds to say that he is going to remove an arm off Flug, presumably to boost himself like her.
Black Hat asks if he’s really the only one who sees that Bubblegum is more diabolic than Lemongrab, especially because she created him “and condemned him into a life of suffering”.
He says that Bubblegum is pretty intelligent by “pretending she agreed in her rival’s terms when in reality she’s sending the worst of her society” and that is a really great villain lesson to learn.
He, however shows great disappointment because she didn’t learn of her past mistakes (by cloning Lemongrab); he even says that the situation is going to became worst because “it will end in one of them eating the other”.
He praised her when she was cutting the legs of a candy with her scissors, but the scene apparently became too much for him later.
Black Hat also:
Wanted to see Lemongrab breaking Manfried because “wanted to see his sweets organs”.
Was disgusted of Cinnamon Bun.
Every time Finn and Bubblegum shows affection to each other he becomes really angry.
He says that Bubblegum and Finn should squeezed Lemongrab instead of putting a note. He proceeds to say that he will show an example and calls for 5.0.5. to come.
When Bubblegum rejects Finn Black Hat laughs and says “you can see the part when his heart breaks in half!”
By the way, the information of Lemongrab’s file says this:
Count Lemongrab
Subject: Lemongrab.
Age: ???
Gender: Male.
Species: Fruit.
Taste: Sour.
Status: Alive (unfortunaly).
Abilities: None.
Occupation: Count.
Creation of the ruler of…
…grab has become independet of…
becoming in the dictator of…
war against the Candy Kingdom…
eating his own clone to…
and satisfied his own hungry of po…
the regimen of the Count Lemong…
At the moment he doesn’t represent a…
for the powerful Candy Kingdom.
creator, the scientist and prin…
Bonnibel Bubblegum alias Prin…
he’s nothing more than one lemon o….
ridiculous and pathetic.
The video ends with a live action Black Hat “squeezing” Lemongrab and with a special thanks list, aka “Black Hat’s black list”. In italics I put the ones I recognized and I could translate; the names in normal letter where the ones I didn’t recognize, even if I traslated their names. The names in black are the ones who have diferent names in spanish, but for some reason were already in English.
Flug, Vilgax, Yellow Diamond, Marvin (the Martian?), Lex Luthor, Peppermint Butler, Cambot, Phil Ken Sebben, Top Cat. The Red Guy, Mojo Jojo, Mandark, Excusator, Nergal, Katz, Hammerhead, Aku, Grodd, Siniestro.
Snorkel, Sticky Stud, Secuencia, Diego, Diego Mejia, Gafael, Kimmy, Kim, Black Manta, Spuntaneous, Salmonella Fitzgerald, Him, The Beast, The Kanker Sisters, Father, King Ramses, Malek, Medusea.
Some of the names where recognizables others… not that much. Who are those people? Animators? Future characters?
Regardless of that, we did learn lots about Black Hat:
In Black Hat’s opinion, pineapples are evil, but lemons are useless.
According to him, once he puked on a past minion’s face and that’s the reason Flug works for him now; he says this when he plays with the red skull in his desk, maybe implying that that’s his past minion’ skull.
He says that minions should taste their master’s food first as a safety precaution.
Watching Lemongrab being punched by Finn and Bubblegum make him laugh so much that in one point he loosed control over his powers and the video cuts momentarily to this beautiful picture:
He also laughs maniacally when Peppermint Butler is crying over the spice serum in his eye and you can hear a little echo in his laugh, perhaps because he wasn’t in full control of his powers at that point.
He stays that “(a minion) only learn their lesson if they can see light at the end of the tunnel”, and that’s why he complains about Lemongrab’s excessive long sentences.
He IS the original Black Hat, the one who created the “black hat” type of villain in movies.
According to him, a real villain shouldn’t let a pubert to be disrespectful at him.
The sound of a hero screaming in pain is “always put a smile in his face”, but then the camera show Black Hat not being happy at all, causing that the person with him (Flug? The narrator? Alan!?) to laugh awkwardly.
“Rule #43 of the manual: Do not stop attacking until your enemy’s heart stops beating!”
But there are other things that fans may not notice:
The fact that Black Hat wants to rip off one of Flug’s arms and use it in a similar ritual than Bubblegum’s to boost his power may suggest that Flug is in fact, not human, but a supernatural creature.
He says that 5.0.5. is indeed a failed experiment. Alan already confirmed that in his Pixelart conference, but now we have an actual canon confirmation.
Black Hat’s manor may have a torture chamber.
There’s a manual of how to be evil, apparently.
Sometimes you can hear “Black Hat Organization”, other you can hear “Organización Black Hat”.
Black Hat’s Organization “please stand by” picture is Cambot fighting against one of Black duplicates (specifically, the short one) who is using a fish as a weapon.
Technical difficulties. Don’t go away!
The short was clearly archive footage.
Is more likely that Alan was the live action Black Hat at the end of the video.
BLACK HAT HAD A MOUSTACHE!
See!?
(By the way, why is thay woman smiling? Did she saw a hero coming to her rescue? Is she smiling because the photo? Is she happy because Black Hat is about to kill her? Is she insane as Demencia? Is she Demencia’s ancestor? Is that Demencia!?
It was clearly that the video was shoot just after 5.0.5. creation, because you can see a picture of him glued at the VHS tape’s case.
By the way, in a bigger version of the image you can see clearly that Demencia’s feet are in her head and Flug is in shorts with Black Hat too close to him.
You can take that as you want.
Also, this picture.
