-i went for a walk & got groceries soon after waking up.... there was nice weather and i was vibing
-i studied a bit for my driver's license and i'm fairly confident i can do the theorical test in november... then move on to practices until summer when i'll hopefully pass the test!
-i talked to my roommate for a bit about which series we want to watch now... we didn't decide on anything but talking to her always makes me happy :p
-had one of my favorite recipes for lunch!!
-went to my brother's basketball match!! they didn't win but they played as a team, it was so nice and pleasing to see and i was very proud of him :)

-had a talk about responsibility with my dad which wasn't nice per say but he's taking me more and more seriously which is what i've been asking and wanting from him for a while now. so it's nice to see he understands that while i may not be a full blown adult i'm not a little kid either and that he is willing to both hold me accountable the way he would an adult but also allow me my own space and decisions the way he wouldn't with a kid like my brother... which is what i told him i wanted :>
-when i was getting ready to go out my hair came out really nicely :)
-went to the city fair with my best friend!! we had soooo much fun we gossiped and we went on rides and we each won a plushie (i shot cans and she popped balloons) and we got a photo in a rollercoaster and we saw a concert!!!!
-on our way back, we just started singing random songs... like one would start and the other would join in and not to flatter ourselves but our voices are great :)
-practiced galician for a bit... i can speak it fluently but i barely do. i want to change that and step by step i think i'm managing!!

Get To Know Me
Who dis? It's me! Been a hot minute, hasn't it? This year has been a pile of dung up until now, if I'm being completely honest, hence my absence from Tumblr and most social media. I had an accident in December and have been feeling like dirt ever since. But: I'm back now! Mostly thanks to my beloved @johaerys-writes and the amazing @mogwaei who tagged me for this game. Thanks to you two! ❤ It's been a please reading your posts.
And now: Let's dive in!
Share your wallpaper: I'm a very boring person who has her own artwork as a wallpaper on her phone (talking about this study I did last year). XD It reminds me that (every once in a while) I do create something that I actually enjoy without any self-doubt or regret, and I like that.
Last song you listened to: "Eyes Closed" by Ed Sheeran. I'm a very basic person, lol.
Currently reading: Let me check Goodreads real quick... Yeah, I'm reading far too many books at the same time again. So here's the top 3 of books I'm reading and enjoying the most atm:
The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman
Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
There's also a bunch of fanfic I need to catch up on but my mind has been all over the place.
Last move: "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves". My P&P podcast party had been invited to a preview 2 weeks ago and we had a fun time watching that movie.
Craving: Time off. I've been working non-stop for the past 8 months or so (with Christmas being the only exception) and I'm feeling super drained right now. Luckily, there are a few short trips coming up in April and July, so there is that!
What are you wearing right now: Basic black jeans and a white knitted sweater. It's spring but it's still flipping cold in my apartment. Ooph!
How tall are you: 168 cm or 5'5 feet (I guess?)
Piercings: Just the two for my earrings. As I said, I'm *very* basic. :')
Tattoos: Currently I got two but I plan on getting more later this year. Gotta save up some money first.
Glasses? Contacts? I got 3 different glasses (transparent, gold and brown frames) and contacts because I like to switch things up.
Last drink: I'm currently having some coffee with oat milk aka The breakfast of Champions. Or so I keep telling myself XD
Last thing you ate: Chicken wrap with lots of cheese. It was amazing.
Favorite color: My taste in color(s) shifts constantly but I'm currently obsessed with green in various tones. I keep getting back to like a warmer green because it makes me feel very cozy. But I also adore a good color combo of orange and violet/lilac or yellow and dark blue. It depends on my mood.
Current obsession: Truth be told, because of the current state of my mental health, I have a hard time being obsessed about anything. It's not like I can't enjoy things (I know that that feels like and I don't want to get back to *those days*) but there's not hyperfixation that lives rent-free in my head. And you know what? It feels terrible! I miss the feeling of being utterly obsessed about something. I crave that level of excitement, honestly!
Unrelated Obsession: Okay, I guess this means non-fandom obsessions. I do have one of those! A short while back, I read a book by the title "Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World" which was fascinating. I loved that it was not Euro-centric and instead focussed on the achievements of Genghis and his successors. I've been gobbling media with the same or similiar topics – including finally playing "Ghost of Tsushima" which send me reading up on the Mongol invasion of Japan. It's been an intriguing ride!
Any pets: I'm too allergic to have cats, dogs, and other animals and I hate it. I want a little doggo so badly... 💔
Do you have a crush on anyone: IRL? Not anymore. I used to have a crush for most of last year but since he started ghosting me a few months back, I decided to focus my attention elsewhere. I'm *done* with dating and have been for the past couple of years. As for fictional characters... I have to go with Solas, although (as I mentioned) my excitement has died down somewhat. I still love that boy to death but I'm not as obsessed as I used to be.
Favorite fictional character: How dare you make me chose one?! I have a trillion fave characters and they're all precious to me ;_; No, I will not pick one because I truly can't!
The last place you traveled: I went to Cologne, my hometown, three weeks ago, but I assume that doesn't count as traveling. I think my last real vacation was in 2019 when I travelled to the Leipzig Book Fair. Oh my... 😅 (And I was wondering why I felt so drained all the time, lol. Dang... what a reality check. This hurts!).
That's it! Hope you enjoyed the read :3
Time to forward some tags. As always, please feel free to join in or ignore the tag: @serial-chillr @faerieavalon @thebookworm0001 @ohmypawsandwhiskers @pikapeppa @oxygenforthewicked @fiadhaisteach @noire-pandora @ellie-effie. Sending all of you lots of love. I hope you're doing great!
Until next time, lovelies! <3

Asta x Pregnant Reader - Worries
Word Count: 1700+
The usual, cold, wet, white snow fell on the tip of my nose right when I looked up at the dead, dark sky which did nothing but made endless amounts of frozen ice fall onto the ground and my coat that covered the rest of my clothes along with my impregnated body. It was ruthlessly freezing cold, my body felt like it wanted to break down every time I moved a step in the thick snow. I kept my hands in my pockets because I knew the moment I’d let my hands be exposed to this weather, they'd only be numb and useless when I needed to make a call.
I know my fiancée is either still playing Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 3 remake, or Apex Legends with his step-brother to which he is probably raging at because he is not that good at first person shooter games. He’s better off still playing fortnite at his big age which is really sad to say. I still love him though, I just wish he would spend more time with me, especially when I’m sad. That would be really nice.
Ever since I started this accidental pregnancy, Asta has been very distant towards me, it’s like he’s scared of me, or that he’s nervous to talk to me. Everytime he would see my bloated, round stomach, he would freeze as if he was nervous or just stare at it in fear. I mean, it’s been 3 months since I’ve started developing but, shouldn’t he be used to it already? He told me not to end the pregnancy because he was ready and will do whatever it takes to the best father he could but if that's the case, why does he act all hostile every time he’s seen my stomach? Not once has he ever rubbed it, kissed, it or even spoken to it. Does it really take that much time to process that your fiancé is pregnant with your child? I’ve been thinking for a couple of days that it’s even cut into my diet and mental health, making me more confused and needy of this situation. It’s like I can’t even tell if I’m overeating or it’s my hormones making me over think like this.
_Wait. What was I outside in this freezing cold weather for again? Oh, that’s right. I was supposed to buy some snacks that Asta and I wanted. At least the corner store is right in front of me. I was in such a deep state of thought I wasn’t even looking up. Silly me. _
…
5 bags of Hot cheetos, 4 packs of sugar cookies, 20 bars of kinder chocolates, 6 packs of Cadbury chocolates, 2 jars of Nutella, 120 Freddo Chocolates, 6 packs of Battenberg cakes, and even more snacks that I’m carrying in this big ass bag.
When I left the store, I was brutally greeted with the familiar feeling of the cold gust of wind along with the snow hitting my face, causing me to cough a bit. The distance between the store and our home wasn’t a short one but, it definitely wasn’t a long one, it would usually take me about 10 minutes to get home but with this snow it would probably take double the amount. Not that I mind or anything, it’s not like Asta’s waiting for my return or that he cares. And it definitely doesn't seem like he cares that this pregnant fiancé is out in a blizzard buying snacks for him and herself. The only thing my ash-blonde husband probably cares about is his game he’s playing or whatever he’s fixated on.
As I began carrying my body through this dangerous winter weather, I heard my phone ringing through my bluetooth headphones, I let out a heavy sigh, letting me see my breath come out as cold fog. I quickly picked my phone out of my pocket and saw who was calling me.
To my surprise, it was Asta. Along with 50 messages and 4 miss calls. At this, I hastily picked up my phone and answered him.
“Asta I-”
“Where are you?” My green-eyed fianceé asked me with a serious tone which was different from his normal, cherry voice. I started to sweat, getting a bad vibe from his tone of voice.
“I’m sorry I-I was just at the store p-picking up some things… Uh… I’m on my way home right now-”
“What was taking you so long!?” I heard him shout, making me jump a bit because of his tone of voice.
I suddenly froze at his question with my eyes widened and my gut having a bad feeling. I didn’t know what to do or say, I just froze in my spot, letting the snow and winds hit me like I was nothing. I didn’t have an answer on why I was out for so long. Hell. I didn’t even check what time it was when I left the house. The reason why I went outside in the first place was to take a walk and to buy some snacks no matter how bad the weather was. I was so much in deep thought to know how Asta felt, I only thought about what he was doing and whether he cared or not.
“I-I just wanted to go on a long walk and buy a few t-things, I didn’t-”
“It’s dangerous out there! It’s even more dangerous that you’re pregnant and you are going out in such dangerous weather... Do you even know how long it has been?”
“No… Asta, listen-”
“It’s almost been 2 hours! I was waiting for you to come back, I was so nervous… Seriously! I thought you were kidnapped or something. I was in the living room the whole time, waiting for you, I was going to meet you to come pick you up but, I didn’t know where to go because I didn’t know where you were…”
“Asta…” Was all I could say. I was seriously at a loss of words, I was in such a negative and grumpy mindset that I didn’t even know that he cared. My fianceé is such a bouncy, and weird individual that I didn’t even know he would care that I even put my pregnant body through such weather, since there are intense risks to that. This whole time I thought Asta only cared about playing video games and only helping when he needed to. Guess I was wrong.
I felt my body shake as a tear slipped out of my right eye.
“I-I’m sorry, Asta. I’ll be home right away.”
… As soon as I opened the front door to our home, I was quickly embraced with strong, muscular arms around my body, making my drop the bag of snacks I had recently bought.
“You scared me… do you know how dangerous it is for you to go out in that weather all alone WHILE you’re pregnant? Anything could’ve happened to you. Anything…You really had me worried and I didn’t know where to look, that’s why I didn’t come outside, I was scared I wouldn’t see you...” Asta muttered into my neck, still holding me tight.
There was really nothing else for me to say at that moment. I could hug him back, making contact between my wet coat and him.
“I’m sorry Asta, I won’t put myself through such dangerous weather again. I-” I was then interrupted by him pulling me into a long kiss before he pulled away to rub my head.
“That’s enough. Go take a relaxing bath and sleep. You could catch a cold.” Was his response for cutting me off.
“Then what am I going to do with all these snacks I bought?” I asked him which made his eyes pay attention to the extra large bag full of snacks, his eyes then glimmered and he started to drool with the thought of devouring all of them.
“Yummy…”
I smiled at his usual antics.
…
After I took a bath in steaming hot water, the both of us were now cuddled up on the couch, watching endless amounts of animes that we queued up on Netflix while consuming our snacks. When we have these moments, I most of the time forget that my weirdo of a fianceé put something inside of me. I remember staying focused on the moments where we were just escaping the ruthless blizzards that are outside of our homes, trying to cause chaos. None of that bothered me anyway, I just remember the feeling of Asta holding me tight and his head croaked into my neck, picking up my scent and occasionally leaving a few love bites there. Although he doesn’t show it, I can tell he’s excited for the birth of our child as well. He may not kiss, touch, or talk to my stomach but I know every time he embraces me, it’s a sign that he loves me and that he’s ready.
“Are the snacks good?” I asked him, giving him a small smile as I watched him chew on the chocolates.
“Of course they are!” He replied in a cheerful manner, making me give him a small smile to which he quickly blushed at. I honestly adore how he gets all flustered at the small smiles give him.
After he finished the snacks in his mouth, I felt Asta’s hands snake around my round, bloated stomach, before he slowly rubbed it. I jumped a bit but I then realized that this is what I wanted, what I wanted for a while now.
“But do you know what's even better?” He whispered in my ear, making me shiver in excitement a bit.
“Yes?” I quietly replied.
“My own child growing in_ your _stomach. The possibilities of their genes and what they could be, whether it could look like you or me… the more I think about it the more excited I get. Even though I didn’t mean for this to happen, I am more than happy to do what it takes to care of our children.” Asta finished, kissing my neck.
I felt that same tear slip out of my right eye again because of his warm, trusting words. I didn’t feel nervous about anything anymore. Because I already know that I’ll be fine.
This pregnancy should be nothing to worry about.
“Thank you, Asta.”

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Review
Sony’s acclaimed action title Ghost of Tsushima is back with brand new content and an updated port to satisfy players old and new. In addition to the base game, the Director’s Cut includes a brand new era know as Iki Island. Which takes the player to an entirely new region to explore with new missions, a new story, and new gear to unlock.
Ghost of Tsushima is a 2020 action-adventure game, it is developed by Sucker Punch and published by Playstation Studios, it is available exclusively on Playstation 4 with a Director’s Cut available on PS4 & Playstation 5.
Editor’s Note: Near complete to complete spoilers for Ghost of Tsushima as well as Tales of Iki Island will be present within this review. This was a first run playthrough and the review will be written as such.
Become the ghost of a dying samurai era in Ghost of Tsushima.
Confession time, I actually bought Ghost of Tsushima on launch nearly a year ago. I only played so little of it because mental health issues of which I’ve been suffering roughly three or so years of is an absolute bitch to deal with. It’s moments like these that make me thankful for things like Sony’s Director’s Cut initiative. What better way to get back into a game than a brand new story expansion? That being said I think Sony needs to do a bit better with their approach to the Director’s Cut with pricing and such. But for what it is it’s a fine reason to get people back into these games be it the PS5 upgrade or the bonus additional content. And because of this I was able to sit down and properly enjoy what I missed out on while catching up to other players with the new story.
Defeat the Mongolian threat in Ghost of Tsushima.
THE GOOD: In the year of 1274 Japan, Jin Sakai heir to his uncle Lord Shimura who is jito of Tsushima follows the ways of the samurai. Sakai holds great respect for his uncle and follows his ways without question following the death of his mother to illness and his father in battle. Sakai has immense guilt over his father’s death as he had the opportunity to save him, but failed to do so. One evening Tsushima is invaded by a Mongol fleet who quickly over take it. Lord Shimura, Sakai, and their forces prepare for war as Mongol leader Khotun Khan has taken over Castle Kaneda. Khan’s forces easily decimate the underprepared samurai and their forces. Sakai challenges Khan to battle, but is quickly defeated and tossed off of the castle bridge.
Nearly drowned in a river he is found by Yuna an archer and thief who recruits Sakai to help her find her brother a blacksmith named Tana. She teaches him tactics that go against his hardened samurai code in return. As time goes on Sakai becomes aware that traditional samurai tactics won’t be enough to defeat the brute force of the Mongolian threat and leans more in favor of his survival tactics. He meets up with master archer Sadanobu Ishikawa who helps him master archery. He also encounters a reliable con man named Kenji, female samurai Masako Adachi who looks for revenge for her murdered family, and Ryuzo his childhood best friend who is now a mercenary and leader of the Straw Hat Ronin. Sakai defeats several of Khan’s forces and he and his allies invade Castle Kaneda where his uncle is held captive. Ryuzo being places in a desperate situation betrays Sakai who defeats Ryuzo upon learning if his joining with the Mongols. Sakai and his allies successfully reclaim Castle Kaneda and rescue Lord Shimura.
As Lord Shimura was captive Khan informed him of Sakai straying from the path of the samurai. Lord Shimura begs Sakai to keep his honor before he is changed forever. Sakai and Shimura spend time rebuilding their relationship as Sakai continues to ensure his allies of their allegiance to Lord Shimura. Namely Yuna who questions Sakai returning to his samurai code. Khan has since taken control of Castle Shimura with Ryuzo with Sakai & Lord Shimura planning a counter attack. Sakai gains the Yarikawa clan and Norio a warrior monk as new allies. While invading a Mongol HQ, Sakai alongside Taka are captured. Khan kills Taka to make an example and the next day Sakai and Yuna kill several Mongols. Sakai and his allies storm Castle Shimura and are nearly overrun with Mongol forces who blow up the bridge. Sakai becomes impatient with the samurai code and sneaks into the castle poisoning the Mongols, Straw Hats, and he kills Ryuzo. Shocked, Lord Shimura begs Sakai to turn in Yuna as someone who turned him against the way of the samurai but he refuses fully embracing his identity of the Ghost.
Lord Shimura has Sakai arrested who escapes with the help of Kenji and Yuna. Sakai and Yuma work together to take out Mongol forces who are inching closer to the mainland. He and Lord Shimura reach a momentary truce and successfully reclaim Castle Kaneda. As Khan attempts to flee on his ship Sakai invades it and faces him in battle. Sakai defeats and kills Khan with most of the Mongol invaders killed or driven from Tsushima. Lord Shimura informs Sakai that he has become an enemy of the Shogun and that he himself has been tasked with killing Sakai. Sakai defeats him and the player is given the choice of killing or sparing him. Now as the Ghost, Sakai eliminated the last of the Mongol forces from Tsushima. He hears rumblings of people being turned mad by Mongol Shaman and investigates.
Explore the beauty of circa 1274 Tsushima and Iki Island.
Sakai’s investigation leads him to Iki Island where the Mongols have taken base and control Fort Sakai. This is the island where Sakai and his father invaded leading to the latter’s death at the hands of bandits and raiders. Following a short separation from his horse Sakai taking on a fake identity as a Yarikawa clansman meets raider Tenzo who was present during his & his father’s invasion and later reveals he knows the truth of his identity. Tenzo and Sakai work together to liberate Iki from the Mongols and their leader The Eagle a seemingly mystic woman. Sakai earns enough of Tenzo’s trust to be introduced to raider leader Fune; an influential female warrior native to Iki. While driving Mongols from Fort Sakai, Jin hears a familiar phrase he heard from his father’s killer being spoken by Tenzo deducing that Tenzo is his father’s killer. After a brief fight the two keep their truce, Sakai had been poisoned by The Eagle earlier with the poison effecting his mental state throughout.
After gaining the trust of Fune, she along with Sakai and Tenzo work together to call out the remaining forced of The Eagle. Tenzo is injured in battle, but survives and Sakai overcomes the poison and kills The Eagle. As Tenzo & the raiders celebrate Fune asks Sakai to help her find her captured daughter whom she sent away after her drug addiction. When some of Fune’s men finds out they challenge her due to Fune’s daughter costing the lives of several raiders. Sakai and Fune kill the few traitors (with many refusing to join the betrayers) and Fune thanks Sakai for his help.
Enjoy Ghost of Tsushima’s multiplayer focused Legends mode.
Ghost of Tsushima is a top to bottom passion project from the team of Sucked Punch. The game has so much love poured into it that Japanese developers were actually jealous they got beaten to the punch. As a fan of Japanese history and such the game was an especially personal ride for me. It’s story (at least from what I gathered) appears to be an allegory about personal convictions & the expectations others have placed on us. Just how far are we willing to follow our or someone else’s code when it’s not working in a severe situation. What if there are lives on the line and our code prevents us from saving those lives? What if we know what to do, but are too afraid to act against those codes if it means others, namely family judging us for our actions. This are the type of questions lead character Jin Sakai struggles with even more so when his tight nit circle of friends and allies increases vs the strict samurai ways of his uncle Lord Shimura.
Gameplay for it’s action sequences comes into three different types: sword, archery, and projectile. The first has you as a samurai taking on big or small enemy hordes in four different sword styles which deal with respective enemy types. These enemy types are spear, sword & shield, brute, and dual-blade/long sword. Each sword style has different effects, weaknesses, and advantages between the four types of enemies which help stagger them for big damage and the final killing blow. Archery is bow & arrow play, weaker enemies (usually archers) tend to be one hit killed with archery and you can use a bullet time like mechanic for greater focus and damage. You can also unlock bonuses such as explosive & fire arrows for even more damage and advantages in ambushes. With projectiles you can throw weapons such as kunai, smoke bombs, and other items for long ranged attacks. You can also poison enemies or turn them against their allies with the blow gun.
As the progresses the player will come across world legends which grant them unique & powerful weapons, armor sets, and abilities. Giving players buffs such unblockable moves, extra health, etc. There are opportunities in battle to survive a death with resolve which acts as health regeneration. This can be increased by completing bamboo cutting tests. You explore much of the open world on horse back and can track foxes and yellow birds which leads the player to areas that will increase Sakai’s health or give him new slots for charms which further increases his stats. Going back to the sword play it can be rather challenging to get a hold of. In fact you’ll probably find yourself dying more than you care to admit with the game asking if ya just wanna call it a day and go to easy mode. You find new side quests throughout the world by helping save people from the Mongols and liberating Mongol strongholds.
The Iki Island expansion for the most part is pretty much what it is. An expansion of the base game’s story content with more info on Sakai’s past. While much doesn’t change from the gameplay front there are new activities such as archery challenges, opportunities to see Sakai’s memories of the past, and animal sanctuaries which provide a fun flute mini game that utilizes motion controls with the Dual Shock 4. There’s also a multiplayer mode known as Legends Mode in which you create a character in a new story detailing the antics of other samurai. Though the intent is to play with others it is possible to solo the story if you’d like. Admittedly, I didn’t really spend much time in this mode as it wasn’t for me, but it’s there for people looking to socialize and have fun with their friends in game.
Ghost of Tsushima is abundant with grand storytelling, an excellent script, and beautifully designed world.
THE BAD: I honestly think Ghost of Tsushima’s biggest caveat is the open world itself. I’m a huge advocate for open world games, but there are times when these maps just seem like a whole lot of empty space. Ghost of Tsushima feels just like one of such times. Granted, the world is beautiful as all hell it’s just a bit too much at times and can really effect the immersion as a player. That’s becoming much more of an issue as game development cost increases nearly every year. People always will expect more and bigger from these types of games, but for the sake of the developers and the enjoyment of the players is that really even necessary? Cost will always go up as technology improves, but adding unnecessary amounts of data that virtually amounts to a lot of empty space within the game world just feels redundant.
Ghost of Tsushima’s beautiful open world may be it’s biggest issue.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Thanks to a passionate development team with a labor of love for ancient Japan Ghost of Tsushima will be remembered as one of the greatest games ever and certainly of its era. Already boasting a fantastic script with great dialogue and voice acting the fun, but challenging gameplay feels rewarding as hell when done right. In addition to the base game, the multiplayer mode Legends and Iki Island refresh the game in unique, but satisfying ways that will absolutely keep people coming back for more.

Ghost Of Tsushima: What We Know (So Far)
http://www.internetunleashed.co.uk/?p=19441 Ghost Of Tsushima: What We Know (So Far) - http://www.internetunleashed.co.uk/?p=19441 Sony's reveal of Ghost of Tsushima was one of the highlights of Paris Games Week 2017, and what a surprise it was to find out that Infamous and Sly Cooper developer, Sucker Punch Games, is behind the project. The original trailer laid the foundation: a fictionalized take on an actual 13th century Mongol invasion, with a protagonist who transforms from samurai to ninja in order to protect the island his people call home. This year's E3 gave us a first look at live gameplay, and our first real taste of the beautifully realized environments that serve as the backdrop for what promises to be a brutal and unforgiving conflict. We've pulled together everything we know about Ghost of Tsushima so far, including info on combat and details about the island and its inhabitants, and will continue to provide new updates as we learn more.Characters, Story, and SettingGhost of Tsushima is set on the Japanese island of Tsushima, a location that in 1274 was invaded by Mongol raiders. Sucker Punch did extensive research on the actual island, including the study of the original beach where the Mongols first struck land. The team's vision is best summarized as an informed remix of the real island's geography, flora, and fauna. For Sucker Punch, it's all about glorifying the source material to set the stage for equally beautiful and tense moments in a war-torn idyllic countryside. The lead character is Jin Sakai, and Jin will have to take what he's learned after years of training as a samurai and adjust his techniques in order to fend off forces that greatly outnumber the island's inhabitants, let alone the one-man army fighting to protect them. Sucker Punch's Chris Zimmerman described the tone of the game as brutal, but he also clarified that both sides of the conflict will reflect the humanity that so often gets lost in combat-driven games, with both Mongols and Japanese characters that will defy expectations--Masako, the character in the E3 trailer, being a prime example.CombatOne of the primary conceits of Ghost of Tsushima is Jin's gradual adoption of ninja-like fighting and stealth techniques, of which we've only gotten a taste of so far. The majority of the available info on combat is focused on swordplay, either in one-on-one fights or with Jin facing off against small groups of enemies.Despite the prevalence of realism, Ghost of Tsushima is not Bushido Blade, a fighting game where a single sword strike could spell death--just like real life. According to Zimmerman, this model simply isn't fun in the team's eyes. Still, we have seen moments in the available footage where Jin successfully takes off body parts and kills enemies with a flick of his wrist, and it appears this is more likely to happen while fending off common enemies, versus more important battles where opponents can absorb multiple slashes. While Sucker Punch has hired weapons experts to help direct combat and attack animations, the studio is also going to play up traditional techniques by judiciously adding flair for effect. "There are things that Jin does when you're fighting that no samurai would ever do," said Zimmerman. "He does spin strikes, which are fun, they're very showy, they are completely… you would never do that [in real life]. You would never turn your back. There are things that he does even right now that we may continue to edit as we look for that balance. We'll see if we can find the best of both worlds, where it's as real as it can be while still being a video game."You need a javascript enabled browser to watch videos.Ghost Of Tsushima - Announcement TrailerSize:640 × 360480 × 270 Please use a html5 video capable browser to watch videos. Once again, Zimmerman offered valuable insight. The team knows what historians have reported, but only so much of it will be honored--a decision made to cater to mainstream expectations of samurai, informed by movies and games alike.According to Zimmerman: "we're going to deviate from historical truth, we just want to do it intentionally. A lot of the support we get from our friends from Sony in Japan, and our Japanese friends in Sony US, and all the cultural consultants we've assembled to help us do this stuff, is to make sure we don't deviate accidentally. There are things we are going to do that are different and we want to choose those wisely.""If you have an idea about what samurai look like or how they act or how they think we're going to give that to you," he added. "Most people's idea is really based on an idea of samurai which is really more of a 16th-, 17th-, 18th-century idea of samurai; 13th century, historically, is pretty different. In terms of how they fought, what they wore, it doesn't match your expectations. So we're not sticking exactly to the historical truth of Kamakura-era samurai. It's gonna be a little different. The armor that you see him wear, it's not 13th century armor. It's more warring-states-period armor. Because, honestly, the 13th century armor is pretty jarring looking, it's not what you'd expect. It's really boxy. It doesn't look aspirational. And we wanna make sure that what we give you is your fantasy of what being a wandering samurai is."You need a javascript enabled browser to watch videos.Ghost of Tsushima - Gameplay Reveal Trailer | E3 2018Size:640 × 360480 × 270 Please use a html5 video capable browser to watch videos. Rest assured, there are language options available for players who prefer to hear Japanese and Mongolian voiceovers with English subtitles.DifficultySpeaking to Zimmerman, it sounds like Sucker Punch will create multiple difficulty settings in order to cater to a wide range of players. "There are difficulty levels and that's actually kind of more important for us than it is for a lot of games, because it's an open world game and lots of different people play those games for different reasons. There are people who are going to say it's beautiful and they just want to see what it's like, and yeah, their experience has to be different than somebody who looks at it like they've always wanted to play a really grounded katana fighting game, and the fantasy for them is about challenge, discipline, practice and precision--that's what they expect of samurai and that's what the game should demand from them as the player."Release DateNeither Sucker Punch nor Sony have committed to a release date for Ghost of Tsushima at this time.
