#okay I'm talking in the tags of this post cause shit is happening in my life and I gotta talk about it somewhere#one part of it is my step brother crashing and burning before my very eyes and there's nothing I can do to stop his own destructive actions#so it's just me watching this poor kid ruin his relationships and blame everything and everyone around him as he does so#despite the fact that he's undeniably been treated horribly at times- he's just turned that anger back onto others and himself#and I have no idea what to feel as I watch him get arrested. have drug problems. because I'm just waiting for the inevitable spiral#it doesn't help that my mom has been comparing us and saying that I'm the much better child and she wishes he was like me#not understanding that I could’ve been him if I was just more angry at the world at that age instead of being so sad and scared#and that leads me to my fucking mom cause like- I love her. we've been through alot of bad shit with her#I've almost done some really bad shit for her and I know that she loves me more than anything else#but it feels like its been getting more and more suffocating cause I'm not sure she's able to start seeing me as an adult#and start loosening her grip around me and let me breathe. to have my own experiences without her by my side#to be able to go places and imagine a future without her constantly by my side#she talks and it's like she doesn't even think to wonder that perhaps I want to form my own experiences#and experience the world on my own terms because I feel like I've spent my whole life having so little damn control#religious family. shit and neglectful father who turned into the exact opposite and nearly killed me. family who refuses to listen and talk#having to move and run immediately. put survival above all else. go to school. get out. and god I just wanna breathe#she loves me so much and I love her too. but I feel like I'll be sooner crushed if I stick here for long enough#I'm just mad that my life has been nothing but absolutely no love. sudden waves of intense love. absolutely nothing. sudden spike#and I feel like I'm just finally starting to form good. healthy relationships on my own terms and actually make friends#because I had no idea what I was doing when I was a kid cause I was so fucking lonely and hurting#now I just. gotta figure out how to tell my mom that I can't carry this expectation that I'll continue to stay forever by her side#it just feels like I'm her child first and a person second. and it sucks. it really sucks.#ough. spins and spins and spins and spins-

Dude you gotta make a Kyle version of him with a horny reader 🤭🤭 I was blushing the whole time reading the Kenny one
I couldn't decide on a song so you have both 💁🏾♀️
─Headcanons─
kyle x reader older ver.
hc; horny reader dating Kyle
cw; nsfw :33
note; I was thinking abt making one for him after Kenny cs yes. I feel like I kinda got carried away with this 😭 but anyway ⤵
How the hell did he even managed to bag such a horny mf, while him, himself isn't really a horny guy 😭?
Okay well it sorta went like this
Before dating you guys were close friends (yes I always do the friend thing cs I can, u can't stop me)
You two were always together, he liked being around you so much Stan took notice, he got very jealous for a few weeks till he realized Kyle was crushing HARD on you so he had no other choice but to get over his childish behavior and root for his best friend
Now you on the other hand were also crushing hard on this dork, you found him funny, cute, silly, tall.. very tall oh lord
He's a whooping 6'1 or 6'2, he towers you. And god did that do it for you.
You liked looking up at him whenever he'd talk, listening to his (somewhat) deep voice (he has like a high pitched voice but still has a deep voice😭) while fantasizing about him pinning your small figure down to the sheets of your bed.
His slightly large slender pale hands traveling to your thighs, caressing them slowly as he goes down to look into your eyes, he gives you a warm smile before making contact with your lips he looks back at you for some consent. Once you nod your head he connects his cherry flavored lips with yours, holding your face carefully whilst he's in between your legs.
"And then– Y/n? Are you listening? Y/n!"
"Huh?? Oh what- what did you say? Sorry.."
You are not sorry. You want him to top your small body, hovering ontop of you and thrust his length deep inside you as he praises you for taking him so good.
uhhmm anyway 😋..
Long story short one day you got the balls to ask him out, ask your bestfriend out.
At FIRST you were going confess to him over text.. but then you didn't wanna be a pussy, he was special, too special to send a lousy confession text to. You wanted him to see your genuine feelings for him in person, so that's exactly what you did.
After like 10+ failed attempts to tell him cause you were too nervous.
You fantasize about him fucking you but can't tell the man you LIKE him?
Oh my god
Literally after school came and you were just going to give up when he approached you, his shakey hands latching onto your shoulders in a nervous mess.
"Uhh Kyle are you okay?"
"Look I LIKE you, I like you alot, and I- uhm- I.."
"Oh my gosh- I like you too, please just shut up and kiss me now, like.. right NOW."
he took a moment to process before kissing you.
He's so CUTEE, his lips did infact take like cherry lip balm.
Now you two were together.. all the things you imagined with him...
Kyle did not know what he got himself into LMAO
It's cause you never mentioned any sexual stuff before well I mean sometimes you did, laughed and shit but it wasn't something he wouldn't think much of. Until now.
Oh wow you were now so uncontrollably horny around him, asking for a kiss 24/7 putting his hand in between your legs whenever you guys sat next to each other, whispering nasty stuff into his ear that made his face red as tomato.
It drives him CRAZY, (the good and bad mostly good or..)
There was this one time you sent him something very questionable, which meant something likeee nudes.
You sent him nudes.
It was just for funnsiez 🤷🏾♀️
He was all excited that you texted him back too then all of a sudden he opens his phone to see a very explicit picture of yourself in your favorite lingerie or something, he'd never turned red so fast setting his phone down in a HEART BEAT.
btw he was eating dinner with his family.
"Kyle, What'd I say about phones at the table."
"Sorry mom- I..uhm Y/n texted me."
"Oh! What'd she sa-"
"Nothing- she sent nothing. Anyway, this food is REALLY good ma, like woww."
Bro was PANICKING. 😞
Just know Kyle called you later and scolded you well tired he just ended up growing a boner mid-argument when he thought about the picture.
Speaking of boners
He never knew he could get so horny so much around you, just listening to your voice gets him turned on. When he feels it he gets so embarrassed, and guilty.
He loves you for youu but hormones are wild sometimes.
Your hormones on the other hand are insane, you're always horny for him and not afraid to tell him or even show him. You love him for him of course but GOD you just want his slender fingers inside you.
One day you two were watching a movie together in Kyle's room, with the exception of the door being opened by at least 3 inches.
Shelia doesn't mind your company she's grown a liking to you, but leave 2 teenagers alone in a bedroom and.. yeah so there was no arguing about that
But do you really think 3 INCHES was going to stop you?
No.
:3
During the movie your mind was else where, thinking about the most erotic scenarios with your boyfriend as possible, you could feel your pussy throb in your clothed panties. Your breath grew hot, as you leaned on Kyle your thighs rubbed against each other trying to relieve yourself a little but it wasn't enough.
Kyle took notice of your constant squirming, his hands finding its way around your waist slowly he then asked what was wrong in a low concerned whisper.
Once his hands found your waist it was all over from there, the gut wrecking butterflies flew into your stomach fluttering their way downward. You sat up and turned your body around to face him.
"I need to suck your dick right now."
"🧍"
"🧍🏾♀️"
"Turn around and watch the movie"
"Kyle- PLEASE"
"No."
"WHY"
"Well one the door is OPEN, two my MOTHER, and three NOOOO"
You took his hand and held it with yours, begging him, he looked at you like you were damn crazy, but blushing like crazy cause what the hell 😭
"Please I swear I'll be fast, I just desperately need you right now Kyle.."
Oh wow that did it for him, your whines and pleas for him made him hard.
He looked at you then at the door, his head screamed no but his body ached for your touch. He looked at you and sighed he held onto your hand pulling you toward him.
He neared your ear going in to whisper something.
"Alright, be a good girl and get on your knees for me, okay?" He leaned away, still holding onto your hand once he saw your face he slightly smirked, even though he was actually dying from embarrassment inside he knew it worked when he saw the flushed and yet shocked expression on your face when he pulled away.
"Woah- how'd you.. like-"
"You liked that didn't you?" He leaned close to you, growing slightly more confident.
You giggled stupidly, getting lost in his voice you loved, moving in.
"Yeah a bit, do it againn."
"Be a good girl and kiss me, yeah?"
"Okay yeahh." Kyle chuckled his smile going into the kiss, you smiled as well but soon stopping from the now serious make-out session starting. He let you lay him down slowly onto the pillows, your hand finding his face for the kiss to deepen.
A muffled moan escaped from your mouth right before you pulled away for air, your tounge no longer in touch with his. You panted, sitting on his lap he huffed slowly looking at you in the semi dark room. The only light source was the TV behind you.
"You ready?" You asked, at last catching your breath. He simply nodded, his face a tint pink. You smiled and kissed his nose lastly before going down on him.
Kyle checked the door once more then slipped off his sweat pants, you helping him underneath the blanket. When you came in contact with his boxers you slowly pulled them off and out sprung his member, hard just for you.
You slipped out underneath the blanket with a giggle "You're hard as fuck Ky, you reallyy must want me." You teased.
Kyle looked away with a flushed expression, he shoved you lightly back under the blanket.
"You're the one who got me like this.. asshole."
"You're so cutee."
You lightly tapped on his cock watching it twitch before tucking some hair behind your ear and taking him in. Once you had him in your mouth you bopped your head at a slow pace, your eyes closing. The ginger bit his lip down, his eyes closing on their own from the pleasure he was in.
His hands gripped his sheets when you picked up the pace, he let out a faint moan trying not to make any noise. If you could see his face he looked so cute, his eyes half-lided, mouth slightly agape with hot air escaping from it and some tears stinging his eyes.
He shifted some bit when you took him in whole, your tongue sliding against his dick in such a magnificent way that he couldn't help but whine loud. He held his mouth with his hand quickly after, but still failling to keep his voice down.
He threw his head back, his eyes rolling back he wanted to moan out loud so bad but he couldn't all he could do was try to hold in his pathetic whines from his mom so she wouldn't come into the room.
From below you could hear his muffled moans and whines you could feel yourself burn in heat, your cunt almost dripping. You rubbed yourself to his moans, feeling the euphoria flow inside you as you fingered yourself through your clothed temple.
You continued to suck him off wanting to hear him more even if he had his hand covering his mouth, this whole situation of trying to do sexual acts while his parents are around and trying not to get caught made you excited and hot inside.
As you made your way up and down his dick you felt his hand make its way ontop of your head, he lightly ran his fingers throughout your hair or kept it there hearing him whisper something.
"Oh.. shit you're doing so good y/n.. please keep going baby.." (oh my god)
Once you heard that sentence come from his mouth you blushed hard.. picking the pace up about ready to make this man cum inside your mouth, you wanted to swallow his warm seed and show him just to tell you what a good girl you were for doing so.
But we all can't get what we want now can we?
Some creak foot steps neared towards the door after a few minutes passed by from what Kyle last said that made you explode with butterflies. Despite Kyle being in such immense pleasure to the point his mouth was watering and his eyes tearing up he still kept alert and once he heard that creak he whispered yelled to you to get the HELL up QUICK.
"Y/n HURRY get UP FAST FAST FAST–"
"Whwat? why?" You replied, his dick still in your mouth.
"My MOM"
You suddenly stopped, peeking out of the blanket. "Oh shit."
You immediately rushed out from under the blanket almost falling ontop of Kyle to sit next to him, Kyle pulled up his boxers then his sweats quickly and grabbed his remote to the TV. You hurriedly sat beside him at a reasonable distance watching the TV with Kyle.
Just right when the door opened you had to wipe some spit off your face before setting your hand down fast as Kyle's mom came in, doing the parent check in.
She flipped on the light switch, and saw the two of you sitting next to each other innocently watching TV, acting like you weren't just having her son whine and moan.
"You guys okay here?" She asked, squinting hard at you two. Kyle could practically feel his heart trying to escape from his chest he was so anxious all he could do was give her a thumbs up with a nervous smile. You also gave her a thumbs up, your smile not so nervous but somewhat kinda jumpy.
Shelia nodded her head slowly in approval, "Bedtime is at 10 Kyle, night you two." She stated before turning off the light and closing the door shut. You and Kyle listened to her foot steps slowly fade away before sighing a big relief.
You laughed from being slightly nervous, nudging him in the arm.
"That was close wasn't it?" You joked, feeling your heart race. Kyle just sided eyed you.
"Alright nevermind then.."
You two sat in silence for a second.. like a long second but eventually you heard him sigh, he went underneath the blanket seemingly like he was crawling towards you. You watched in confusion before he peeked out from the blanket in between your legs. His big curly hair getting all messy.
You pulled away the blanket off him to see him clearly.
"What are you doing?" You asked, feeling a smile creep on your face. "I wanna make you feel good now, can I?" He sat up and leaned into you he held your hip with one hand and the other your cheek.
"But I didn't finish-"
"It's okay don't worry about it, I just.. wanna hear you moan from my doing this time." He shyly looked away, he put his hand down.
You felt your heart melt and your pussy throb, damn he could do BOTH.
"Okay whatever you want Ky." You pecked his cheek that brought his attention back to you. He smiled, kissing you quickly then going underneath the sheets. You helped him pull off your pj pants and let him slowly pull of your panties.
"You ready?" He asked you, laying a soft kiss on your stomach.
You nodded your head with a butterfly sick smile.
"I'm readyy."
Most times he deals with your horny self cause it's now normal to him, it makes him blush all the time but he still somehow puts up with it.
Other times he physically ends up putting up with it 🤨
Let's just say this other time.. at a restaurant.
You were sitting by him, doing your usual teasing saying stuff like
"You look soo hot right now, I want your dick in my mouth."
He gives the craziest side eye, his face already red. You giggle to yourself and look through the menu infront of you. You two were waiting for Stan and Wendy to come since it was going to be a double date (Wendy's idea, she thought it would be cute)
Once they came you and Kyle greeted them, you smiled innocently ignoring the obscure thing you just said to Kyle a few minutes ago.
"Hey guys! Glad you came!" Wendy exclaimed, sitting her self down next to Stan. "Babe they were practically forced by you to com–"
"ANYWAY- have you guys ordered yet?" Wendy cut Stan off to which he zipped his mouth with a huff. You shook your head, setting down your menu for a second then putting it back up.
"No we were waiting for you guys so I guess we can order now." Kyle said, going to look at his menu. Wendy nodded her head she then grabbed a menu and shared it with Stan, the both looked at the menu together, distracted.
You decided to make another move, you put your hand on Kyle's thigh soon rubbing it up high to his crotch. Kyle's eyes widen but his eyes still remained on the menu. You snickered, leaning over towards him.
"I want youuu Kylee." You muttered into his ear behind the menu, Kyle closed his eyes as his cheeks redden he was growing extremely nervous and trying to remain calm but holy shit you were making it very.. hard for him.
Suddenly in his last moments were he was about to loose it he had an idea. He looked at you and grinned, leaning down some to tell you something.
"Keep up and watch what happens Y/n." His words sent a shiver down your spine considering how kinda serious and hot he sounded, you were both intrigued and nervous to what he meant you just looked at him a little surprised his eyes went back to his menu, not paying attention to you.
You scoffed, looking at your menu.
What could he possibly do in such a place?
The answer was going to revealed very soon and it was the LEAST thing you expected Kyle to do.
A few minutes went by and everyone had an idea to what their order was, there was small table chat happening you talked a little but soon you tuned out to think about.. other things. As Kyle and Stan laughed you thought about Kyle's hand tracing over your bare stomach making his way downward, he licked the both of his middle and ring finger, slowly sliding them into your temple he leaned into your face and kissed you passionately to block your moans from getting out.
You felt your region throb in your seat, you ached for it to be touched but it would have to wait till later.
You just had to fantasize about something erotic 😒..
You cursed to yourself, stopping your brain from making anymore scenarios. You sighed watching the 3 of them talk and laugh. You looked over at Kyle he seemed to be settling down his laughs, he took a sip from his drink.
Wait when the hell did the drinks get here?
Nevermind anyway, you thought about what he said but soon stopped you just shrugged it off and proceeded to mess with him. You scotted closer towards him, putting your leg over his.
You waited for his reaction but he gave you nothing, you frowned trying something else. An that's when an amazing idea popped in your head (the WORST idea you ever had)
You mindlessly slipped your hand underneath his shirt, rubbing his bare skin. Now he reacted to this. He almost spat out his drink and looked at you stunned.
You looked at him, quickly removing your hand. You shot an innocent smile to him and pretend like nothing happened.
"What?" You asked, knowing damn well what you were doing. Kyle kept a keen eye on you, un amongst to you what he was planning on doing now. He sighed taking his finger towards your region.
You watched in puzzlement to what he was going to do but quickly you knew what he was doing when he started to rub your clit on the outside of whatever you are wearing, it was already wet to the touch when he rubbed it.
He let out a slight snicker to that as you began to mumble words under your breath.
"What.. the fuck.. are you doing Kyle?"
"I told you if you did something, watch what happens. You need to listen." He whispered, his finger hitting your clit hard. You nearly gasped, gripping your menu.
"Hey Kyle you alright?" Stan asked his friend, grabbing his drink. Kyle turned his attention towards him, he then smiled sweetly "Yeah I'm fine anyway what were we talking about?" He said casually, un amongst to the two of them on the other side he was rubbing his girlfriends cunt making you slowly pant in your seat.
"Oh yeah so what are your plans for summer! It's right around the corner. What about you Y/n?" The girl in her purple hat asked you.
Must she had asked you at such a horrible time??
You looked at Kyle he had a smug look, still using two fingers to massage your pussy. You thought he stop, I guess not.
You breathed in trying to act normal, "I uhm I don't- er I don't know-! Maybe.. like.. uhh.. -uhm watching movies or like.. something?? Oh fucking shit." You told her, hoping you came off as normal as possible. You also gave her a wide smile despite her not knowing you were being played with under the table.
You twitched, as she looked at you weird. "Are you okay? You look all twitchy.." Wendy asked, her voice worried. Your fingers tapped on the table quickly, swallowing a large amount of saliva as Kyle's fingers began rub your clit fast, he looked at you with a sly smirk.
"Yeah are you okay Y/n?" Now it was you giving him the side eye.
"Yes.. im.. fine. Mmh.."
You thought you would be enjoying this but god it felt like torture, but it felt so good at the same time.
Now this one of the few ways he puts up with you 😊.

damnation spring.
dialogue prompts from damnation spring: a novel by ash davidson.
i've known rocks that talked more than you.
if you don't bet on yourself, nobody else will.
the past isn't a knot you can untie.
don't ever leave the house without a kiss goodbye.
you want some coffee, while you wait?
you gotta take a risk sometime.
i probably should have asked you a long time ago.
the fear is worse than the pain.
are you not attracted to me anymore?
i forgot how good it feels to have a secret.
there are too many ways to die out here.
if you let your mind wander, it could cost you your life.
what the hell kind of five dollar word is that?
i just do what they tell me.
kids are like puppies. it's easier with two.
they'll cut you with one hand and bandage you with the other.
look up 'careful' in the dictionary, and there you are.
keep your damn shirt on.
used to be, people looked out for each other.
one percent's not milk, it's water.
it's too easy to kill an idea by saying it out loud.
half the time, i don't know what i think until i say it out loud.
i never know what to do with my hands.
every day of a marriage is a choice.
you're always playing some kind of angle.
go to school. learn something.
what's the use of dredging all that up again?
when you get to be my age, you don't leave things till tomorrow.
there wasn't anything anybody could have done.
dogs are the best judge of people.
well, aren't you just as bright as a dime?
when was i ever young?
what are you so nervous about?
you never say a bad word about anyone.
people always say the wrong thing, don't they?
you're the one who never called me back.
you knew where i was.
are you going to tell my mom?
women have a way of passing bad news around.
can you walk on my back?
do you ever wonder what your life might have been like?
i figured i had time, you know?
the judge said it was self defense.
i watch out for my people. you know that.
keep it. i've got another copy.
don't be a stranger.
i thought you were up to no good.
it's not like the old days, is it?
you missed a hell of a show.
what are you doing for money?
smoke follows beauty.
my first word was 'son of a bitch'.
you never killed anybody?
the early bird gets his own damn breakfast.
if i shoot myself in the foot, i'll need you to carry me out.
i used up one of my nine lives today.
clean up your own mess, for once.
watch out for potholes. and assholes.
i had a hell of a time finding this place.
keeps the bible salesmen away.
when were you going to tell me?
you were my best friend, once.
a little rest never hurt anybody.
i'm so caught up in my own pain, i can't see anybody else's.
even a nice dog will bite when it's hurt.
you only get one life, sweet pea. live it happy.
look who the cat dragged in.
has your conscience caught up with you?
if you're shooting, shoot. don't make me dance.
you've been distracted for days.
you know something isn't right. what are you doing about it?
you're going to get hurt. you might even get yourself killed.
you're not alone in this.
people don't worry what they can't see.
it's important to do the right thing, even when nobody else is.
sorry doesn't pay the bills.
i judge a man by what he does, not what he says.
a threat? no. that's a promise.
what's wrong with me?
i hope you brought some sunshine.
careful now. some places you go, you can't get back from.
____ can go to hell. and so can you.
what do you gotta do to get some peace and quiet around here? die?
the roads are fucked. it's faster to walk.
what's wrong with you? you just do whatever they tell you?
right or not right, it's done.
would it kill you to just take my side for once?
where else would we go?
it looks worse than it is.
i've still got a few lives left in me.
you're all thinking it, but no one has the guts to ask.
whoever said you can't buy loyalty never spent a day here.
if you're smart, you'll get out of town.
it's okay to wander, as long as we always come home.
even an old dog can learn, if you're patient with him.
why would this time be any different?
what did you wanna be, when you grew up?
you don't have to watch me every minute of the day. i'm okay.
i forgot i was mad at you.
from outside, it looks like a normal house.
i can come stay for a while.
you ready for some help?
please don't hide from me.
i don't want to lose you. i can't lose you, okay?
nothing's wrong. i'm just happy.
not a lot of people are born to do something.

[Good chance of them being; the cutest things in the entire multiverse ever, much better than the fruit twins; according to Dawn.]
Oi, them be fighting words. If Dawn's not careful, he gonna end up looking like Eben Byers otherwise.
[Canon!SWK/Dawn is just sobbing from the cuteness of their daughters. He def ranks them higher on the cuteness ladder than any of the au! kiddos.]
Like, the other SWKs get it, they too find their own kiddos the cutest amongst the cubs, but still - "Oh, put them up, buttercup!"
[Jackpotshipping is unlikely. .. Unless they find another freebie in the trash .. Street orphans are negotiable.]
Ace coming to visit one day and leaves with a new kid he found in Megapolis, calling 'dibs' XD
[Canon!Red: "It will keep our parents off of our backs regarding children at least. For at least for a few months."]
Hehe!
A few months later, in the restaurant, MK and Red are sort-of being cornered and asked about the future kids, only for SWK bust through the door, an absolute manic grin on his face, tail wagging at speeds comparable to a jet engine, while holding Macaque in a bridal carry.
There is no sight of the nimbus, so the group wonders if he ran here...
"We're pregnant!" SWK announces, before backpedaling, "Well, not 'we', not like our alts, but we are, well, Mac is, ugh, I helped!"
"Give him a minute. He is so excited he left his brain back on Flower Fruit Mountain." Macaque laughs softly at that.
So much excited screeching incoming.
And relief, from Spicynoodles now that the group's attention is diverted again.
Even if Canon PIF and Mac are not more than begrudging allies, I could see them looking up things for the babies, for the former to see what's new and useful for rearing children since she now knows what needs to be done to make more.
Though, the best advice must come from those who have raised multiple kids by now:
"Color code everything!"
"Huh?"
"Kids will argue about what belongs to whom. Especially twins - and triplets. Color coding saves your sanity. Can't argue the teddy bear is yours if it has a bandana of your siblings color, right?"
"Also, just because you're craving it, don't nonstop indulge. The weight makes the birth worse."
"What do you mean by that?" Gets shown the image of the Nodelets after birth, "Holy shit, she's huge!"
referencing posts about the Canon LMK Shadowpeach having kids in the Wukongverse.
["Give him a minute. He is so excited he left his brain back on Flower Fruit Mountain."]
Ok thats gotta be my favorite way to describe how Wukong reacts to such good news. I love the mental imagery of his tail going at the speed of a helicopter rotor as he tries to figure out how to announce it to the gang. Canon MK is def the first to start crying with proxy happiness.
[Though, the best advice must come from those who have raised multiple kids by now]
Aww, I love the thought of the other parent LEMs giving Canon!Macaque/Dusk baby advice. Like a moms club.
And ofc Plum using Yuebei's baby photo as a warning not to indulge. He jokes that the little girl "needed her own room" or else neither he nor Peach would have been able to move from the baby weight. Dusk shudders at the thought.
Liang tells horror stories of the 5 stone-fruit monkeys fighting over whos things are whos. Colour co-ordination is such a must to avoid in-fighting.
Zhanshi has softer advice on how to take care of a smaller/weaker baby (Xiaoyun hatched prematurely). And Olive just says "You are gonna feel like crap sometimes. Its normal."
Meanwhile in the next room, Canon!SWK/Dawn is getting roasted by the whole SWK gang for his worrying + his brain stuttering from happiness.
[Oi, them be fighting words]
I can imagine all the other SWKs letting Dawn have his moment of new-dad-pride when the twins are actually born, but you know the fists and staffs are flying the second Dawn tries saying his kids are the cutest of the whole multiverse. Smokey argues for Xiao Qi, whos so cute he literally heals the world. Dasheng in turn argues for Xiaoyun, his scrappy little cloud. Cherry is then like "nope, you're all wrong. your babies can't out-cute my pebble army."
Its worse than the time the other DBKs met and went full soccer-dad on eachother.
The LEMs come back only to see the living room completely destroyed. Someone has been tosed through a screen door. The table has been broken in half.
Only the ones that stayed out of it are the SWKs who don't have any kids + Ace ( s laughing up a storm).
Plum: "What in buddha's name happened here!?" Peach: "A matter of pride. Dawn tried saying his kids are cuter than ours." Plum: "...thats dumb. You know babies look ugly as frick to anyone not the parents. Simple biology." The Other SWKS, regaining conciousness: "Huh?" Plum: "Observe. I was just showing the other Macs a certain newborn photo of Yuebei. Does this look like a cute baby to you?" The Other SWKs: *looks at photo* Photo: *newborn Yuebei being weighed on a kitchen scale. Her face is super wrinkly, and her fur is really wispy and wet-looking. Looks like a little angry gremlin. Her smaller brothers are right next to her in the bassinet.* Smokey: "Sweet buddha..." Cherry: "Thats a HUGE baby!" Dasheng: "...did you say newborn!?" Plum: "Yup. Why did you think I warned Dusk not to give into cheese cravings?" Dawn: "I thought that was just photoshop..."
The argument is immediately forgotten, as now the SWKs are just glad that they didn't get a mega-sized 9-pound potato baby. Its all in good fun though, as Plum and Peach consider Yuebei to be their little ice lily.

Aggressively rubs my face, complaining about anything in life feels so tedious compared to what's going on in the world. World events and disasters and genocides and just fucking everything make you feel so small and worthless. Like god damn I feel guilty for thinking how stressed I am because HAHAH COULD BE WORSE, BITCH. WHICH is kind of a weird thing the internet really uh, perpetuates. Which is kinda what people get at when they say take care of your mental health.
Like I'm staying as up to date as I can but it's... wow it's hard to stomach, and it's hard to know what to do when you're in a financial spot lmao... Fucking god damn. Like carrying on like normal is really hard because there's that thought in the back of my mind right now about how upsetting it is realizing so many people can't do that. Will never do that again. It's like tv static in my head lately low key saddening me more and more.
But yaknow that just sounds like I'm complaining about a world event, but it's not. It's just...a profound sadness. Saturating things. I find myself just kinda sitting lately unsure what to be doing that feels... productive in this time. Not really feeling, uh, creative or happy. I dunno. Low simmering fear as well tbh.
That wasn't the topic I was planning to post about uh... FRIVOLOUS UPDATES I GUESS... I USE TO DO THOSE, YEAH? IDK WHO CARES ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE THESE DAYS TBH LOL
Taking a break from Xig because I'm just ..out of it and need the expectations off me for a second.
Having anxiety even checking my art blog because people weirdly correcting me/giving me a compliment that's shorter than a correction and making me come off rude telling them I'm not wrong makes me anxious as hell :))) so I end up avoiding my own haunts!!! How fucky is that.
I am almost done with my small sketchbook?? I was fixing a few pages up before hitting a few dried out Copics, which lead to me checking all of them to see who I needed to fix/replace and uh... relocate them in my office. Which became redoing my pen pouches and seeing if those got fucked up. Hopefully I'll finish that and start scanning. 2018-2023... with huge gaps in there lol...
I miss doing art I liked. Its kinda stagnant atm so I might take the rest of the year to do studies on angles and shit tbh. I need something. It all feels same same.
Uhhh figuring out some dental stuff - bought myself a bougie electric toothbrush and I think my old one's timer was fucked up and making me brush too long?? Which is bad!!! So this new one already has my teeth feeling better 👏 mom's genetics have me terrified!! My teeth feel better after two brushes??? insane.
Getting bloodwork done Thursday so hopefully figuring some shit out about my weight and health :))) I'd like to lose the like 20-45lb I mysteriously seemed to gain over the past few years??? Uhhh??? And figure my periods out, money has just been BAD since Hannibal's surgery....
Having panic scares about if my job is going away in December or not and hating every job listing I see online so I gotta look for whatever listing sites exist outside indeed. Also something this decent with the same pay :)))))) so that's on my todo list... again.
Box spring is busted on my bed, so hopefully I don't have to replace the mattress just yet because of the previous point AND THE FACT I JUST STARTED GETTING TO SAVE FOR MY PC..... first world problems but fuck, dudes. Vakarian is fucking suffering sometimes... :(( but we'll see because MATTRESS PRICES.......!!!
I cleaned my office and room and that made me feel like I've accomplished something for myself so that's... something.
Trying to focus on things. Depression cocktail is going on..... money, job, housing, health, the world... it's all so much all the time, man.

xvii: Girls’ Night
"Jack is the tracksuit's boss, Laura just confirmed it," Clint told her. "So you better buckle up, Kate's going to be insufferable about this one. Which reminds me— Stop."
"Stop what?" She frowned.
"Your flirting."
"Ha! I'm sorry to burst your bubble but no one's flirted with you since the 90s." The young woman resumed her walk. "Maybe it's because you haven't spent much time around me, but I swear this is how I am with everyone..."
"Nah, bullshit," Clint replied. "You don't remember why you hated me so much as a kid, do you?" Cat didn't reply. "The others didn't pay attention, but I had kids, and I could multitask when a child was around. I kept you from stealing guns of unsuspecting guards, from falling on your face thanks to a loose shoelace— I taught you how to tie your first pair of shoes!"
She chuckled. "You were always telling me not to do this or that, I thought you didn't like me."
"I like kids, and you were a funny one, but you needed a firm hand sometimes, and the others weren't great parental figures."
"And if that was the case why didn't you say so?" She raised a brow.
Clint sighed. "I had a soft spot thanks to my kids, so you keeping your distance helped to keep my walls up. Cat, when we find people like you—"
"Freaks?"
"Young," he corrected, "Fury has to make up rules on the go. We weren't there to be your family, you were there to be a future agent and nothing else."
"That's... sad," Cat pouted. "Makes it sound like I had a shitty childhood."
"You don't think that?" He asked, curious to hear what she had to say.
She made a "so-so" gesture. "I was a satisfied kid after Nat and Hill softened my edges, I found ways to have fun... Not that I can properly remember, it's more like a feeling... my heart knows I was happy once."
Cat cringed at her sentence, and Clint patted her shoulder. "You'll figure it out. For now... you gotta promise you won't get involved with Kate."
"If you promise you won't mentor her once this is over."
"Ha! Easy."
"It's a deal, then," Cat pushed the sunglasses up her nose and tightened her jacket around her body, she really needed a new coat.
Kate walked into the apartment carrying several bags. She found Clint covered in frozen food and Copycat trying to scare a few cats from the fire escape.
"What is all this?" Clint asked.
"This is me saving the holidays— Can you help me out?"
Cat closed the window before the dog could sniff the felines. "What are you doing?"
"I'll get Clint home in time for the big day, figured in the meantime, we could celebrate?"
The mutant examined each bag. "Can't remember the last time I attended a Christmas party..."
"Well, you're in luck," Kate patted the seat next to her. "It's movie marathon night, right? Check this out, I got movies..."
"That's very thoughtful of you... thanks," Clint shared a look with Cat.
"Wait— can we put a pause on that and talk about sword-boy for a minute?"
"Oh, right," Cat sat on the armrest, grabbing a bag and looking inside of it. "You go first."
Clint nodded. "You got good instincts, kid."
Kate looked at him. "What do you mean?"
"We did a little digging and turns out Sloan's a shell company that launders money for the tracksuits. And Jack's the CEO."
"You sure?" Cint hummed, so Kate continued. "Okay, well, we're just gonna have to come up with a plan to take down my mom's fiance's organized crime ring..." Kate pulled out something from the paper bag Cat was holding. "While simultaneously having a heartwarming holiday celebration."
The girl threw an ugly sweater at Clint, and Cat laughed. "I get to see you riding a unicorn, and wearing an ugly sweater? Is my birthday today?"
"No, I'm pretty sure you were born the same day as the devil," Clint scowled.
"So you agree my birthday's on Halloween?"
"I got one for you too, Cat—"
"Noup!" She pushed the sweater back into the bag. "Never worn one and I refuse to."
"Oh, c'mon!" Kate pouted. "It's blue!"
"So what? Blue's not my favorite color," Cat insisted.
"Why the hell is your suit blue, then?"
Cat shrugged. Clint made her promise not to get too close to Kate, and telling the story of her dead brother wearing the same color palette when he was alive was the exact opposite.
"What's your favorite color?"
"Red?" She looked into Kate's eyes. "Could be grey, if you give me a good reason."
The young archer cleared her throat. "Got any more of that slushy stuff?"
"In the kitchen."
"Okay!"
Cat chuckled once Kate was out of sight, Clint was staring at her. "What?" The man ripped a slushy bag from his leg and threw it at her head but she caught it. "Yeah, okay! Just wanted to show what flirting really looks like."
Cat heard them stumble over the information and tried to help, but truth be told, it'd been a while since she'd taken down the bad guys without shooting at everybody.
Clint taught Kate a few tricks, Cat knew most from the years he'd trained her, and Kate was a fast learner just like her. Then they circled back to the tough conversations, and Clint ended up telling them the story of when he met Nat.
"When you do what we do for a living," he said, "it's just a game of managing lost, so..."
Cat was upside down on the couch, and Kate's dog was sniffing her hair. "I lost..." she counted with her fingers, "about four or five people in less than a week. I wasn't ready."
"I think you're doing well," Kate tried to cheer her up.
Cat laughed bitterly. "No. I belong in a rehab center, but people think it's okay for me to be mentally ill as long as I can finish the job."
Kate looked at her. "You don't look that far gone to me... right, Clint?"
The man glanced at Cat, who was still upside down on the couch and poking the dog's nose.
"I think we should wait for her to fully develop a brain."
When Clint decided to share he was the Ronin, he dropped this whole speech about them being weapons, hurting people and it remaining tied to who they were. Cat left the room then, taking refuge in the kitchen. A few seconds later she heard the light in the living room turning off, and Kate's steps got closer.
"Clint's called it a night," she announced. "I think we should do the same."
Cat sighed. "Alright."
Kate looked over her shoulder to make sure Clint wasn't listening, then she got closer. "You didn't lose anyone with the blip, right?"
"I got lucky," Cat hesitated. "I had these high school friends... but I used to hang out with my brother more."
"Your brother?"
"Adoptive," Cat explained. "Quicksilver."
"Oh! Wanda Maximoff's twin, right?"
"After signing the accords, he stayed with me. He kind of took me under his wing as a way to cope with the whole situation. He was the only family I ever had. Or at least, the way he treated me is how I think it feels to have one."
Kate looked at her with fondness. "Sounds like a great guy."
She looked away. "He was a flirt, I picked it up from him. It happens without me knowing, but it happens to most people, that's how babies learn to do things, I think."
"So, Copycat," Kate got close enough to lean on the counter, their arms were brushing. "You're like a mash-up of every hero? Can you lift Thor's hammer?"
Cat stared at her with empty eyes. "Tony tried to convince me to test it out when I was fourteen... I thought I wasn't worthy, I was sure I'd killed the people that'd kept me captive..."
"You didn't?"
"I did it after. That's how I met my best friends..." a little smile formed on her face, "I went to space for a couple of years and came back. My mimicking got out of control, so I had to take care of it, and that's when I met..."
"Yeah?"
She cleared her throat. "Doesn't matter."
Kate frowned. "The way you said it makes me think it does."
Cat pulled back a chair and sat down. "You'll be lucky, Kate, if this is the one and only mission you ever do. Most heroes have been taking a time out since we defeated Thanos, that's also luck, but I'm not a lucky person..." Cat looked up expecting to meet Kate's frown, she caught her smiling. "What?"
"You're not an asshole, you're just sad," Kate clasped her hands around Cat's tangling them in place, and she sat down beside her. "I can handle sad."
Cat's worry increased. "You're not paying attention. I just told you I—"
"That's all over," Kate insisted.
"I probably would've been back at it right now if Clint hadn't called."
"Exactly!" Kate leaned closer, but Cat moved away, she couldn't set her hands free. "There's a part of you that wants to change, and that's the part I want to help."
Cat's chest tingled, she'd heard that before. She didn't want to look touched by it though, so she tried to change the subject. "You're clawing at my hands—"
"You're the one with claws, not me," Kate let go. "I don't think you have to be tied to this your whole life. You can be anyone you want at any given moment, and you decide to be Copycat every day."
"It's the only thing I'm good at."
"Maybe there's a reason you're so good at it," Kate suggested. "I think you don't want to be an Avenger 'cause none of your old friends are there, but that'll change now that I'm here."
"What if the only reason I was an Avenger was that other people were watching me, not because they were my friends?"
"No one's watching now, while you're telling me how you really feel."
"You're watching," Cat was quick to reply. "You haven't stopped staring."
"Exactly, I've been watching for a long time so I know what I'm saying," she grinned. "I think you should try again, but this time with me. You think I'm a good person, right?"
"I-I guess?"
"Then copy me! That's what you do best, right? Before you know it, you'll be good without trying."
She wanted to refuse, but it was tempting. The idea of being around someone like Kate was something she hadn't tried yet. People who were open about their feelings. She was lucky to have met her now, when she needed it the most.
"If we become coworkers we can't date," Cat tried.
"Says who?"
"I'm too much trouble for a spoiled princess like you, I don't think you can handle it."
"I literally just said I could."
"It's not your job."
"I never said that," Kate smiled. "It's an adventure."
The archer made her think there was something worth saving within her. If good behavior was what it took to stay...
Her mind was incredibly quiet, there was no ticking.
Cat supported her chin in one hand. "You have no idea where you're getting into."
"My mom raised a spoiled princess, but not a coward," Kate got up with a playful glint in her eyes.

"Yeah, sometimes makes me wonder though, if I changed my mind once, what if it happens again?" She pondered. "I can't see myself doing anything else, or wanting to, but I had that thought about being a dancer. Do you know what I mean?" Taliah shrugs, not really questioning anything, per say, just being thoughtful to the fact that circumstance could change everything. "Yeah?" She chuckled, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. It was nice to hear that Laura wanted to listen, especially because once Taliah was set on a conversation course, she tended to really see it through. "Someone told me recently that they think there's a part of me that remains unsettled about my life here." That someone being her therapist. "Because I love my life here, I love the people in it and I'm so grateful... But when I think about it in a black and white way, it's like I've benefited because my mom died. I wouldn't have any of this if she hadn't, right? So sometimes, I struggle to be happy without feeling guilty. How can I say I'd do anything to change what happened to her, when it would come at the expense of everything I have here?" Thinking out loud, she chuckles. "Don't worry, I'm not expecting an answer. I'm just doing what I'm told for once and being more open." Smiling, just to show that she was okay, she really didn't need answers or advice, she just needed a kind ear.
"Well if I'm being honest, I already feel like I would literally adopt him. I don't care that he's an adult, he's still a baby, he's got the pinchable cheeks and shy smile and it just makes me want to fight everyone who ever hurt him." Taliah snorted in laughter. "Don't tell him I said that, I don't want him to think I'm weird. I gotta build that bond until he realises it's too late and he's just stuck with me like some weird club mom." Which honestly, she wouldn't mind at all, and she was just joking - she didn't think Kip was the type to think that way. "I think he wants a family as much as he needs one, I just want to see him thrive." Leaving it there, she thought to ask Cole about setting up a dinner one night with both Kip and Laura, knowing for a damn fact that Laura's energy was something Kip could benefit greatly from.
"I'm glad we figured it out, honestly, whether you believe it or not, it really was entirely platonic. I think there's some people who think we had these unspoken feelings, but we really didn't. It was just timing. It wasn't right before, but it's right now. And I'm just so glad you like me because honestly, I can hold my own but up against you? I'd be like one of those turtles on their backs." Cracking the joke to inject some humor, she knew she didn't need to say it again how much Laura's trust meant to her. "You're my family too, always have been." Softer now, she leans back and blows out a sigh, trying to recollect her thoughts and emotions.
"I like the way you think." Taliah nods, finding that she actually quite liked that they could keep the details just to themselves. It wasn't something that needed to be shared, it felt nice to know that they'd shared this moment between them and could carry it with them as something that brought them closer together. Brown eyes soften as she listens to Laura, unable to deny that it gave her an incredible sense of relief to know she didn't have to prove her adoration and love for Cole, she could already see it. "I do, I always have. I knew the day I met him that he was going to be special, but I could have never imagined then just how special. It makes perfect sense now." Taliah laughs. "I used to say to him I've never loved anyone like I love you, and I meant it entirely platonically, but I knew it was true. I saw through him the way he saw through me, and instead of being scary, it was just... Peaceful." She hums, turning to Laura with a soft shrug. "He's made for me, I love every part of him." Even the parts he hated about himself, the bad and the ugly, there wasn't an inch of him she didn't want to wrap her arms around. "I'm usually not a mushy person, but I don't mind gushing about him like this, he deserves it."
“No, they’re not,” Laura agreed with a soft chuckle, happy to hide behind the jewelry she made for a living. No, it wasn’t near as exciting as dashing into a fire, but it was all she felt she could handle, and she was glad that there were people out there like Taliah who could handle racing headfirst into the flames so that the rest of them didn’t have to. Sobering then, her features softened as the younger woman opened up about how dreams and goals tended to shift once life got ahold of them. “Life’s odd like that,” she mused aloud, both to show Taliah that she was listening, but also to show her that she wholeheartedly agreed. Fate had a way of taking everything a person knew and shaking it up a bit– often in the best and worst ways. And while fire had stolen Taliah’s dreams right out from underneath her, in a way, it had also laid the groundwork for a different one, and Laura could see that the younger woman had seized that opportunity in a way others might not have. “Hey, don’t apologize,” she murmured, quickly shaking her head, “You have no idea how much I love hearing all of this.” Especially because she knew bits and pieces of the horrors that had brought Taliah to that place. After losing her mother in such a horrific way, she’d found a way to honor her in her life’s work– of course Laura admired her for it and would never tire of hearing about it.
Chuckling softly, she nodded, “Sounds pretty familiar, yeah,” she agreed, easily drawing the comparisons between Cole and Kip. It wasn’t hard to do, with both of them being tragic enough to make her heart ache with that need to show them they were loved. With Kip, though, she’d stood back, giving the next generation to step forward…and they hadn’t disappointed. “Just bring him close,” she murmured, nodding firmly, “He’ll be just fine, just like Cole was.” With the sort of support system Kip would have, Laura had to believe that.
Grinning wide, Laura found herself feeling warm from the outside in just by Taliah’s words, because it was everything she’d ever wanted for her nephew. She wanted someone to realize his worth and then meet it. Luckily for her, Taliah did more than that– she surpassed everything she’d ever hoped for whenever it came to Cole. Laughing as she turned that little half-hug into a full one, Laura shook her head as she rested her chin on Taliah’s shoulder, “I’m just glad you two figured it out while I was alive– I’d haunt both of you forever if you hadn’t.” Later was better than never in her view, and it always would be.
Easing back just enough to get a better look at her, Laura raised a hand, her thumb brushing a few of Taliah’s free falling tears away, “It’s what you needed,” she pressed, head shaking gently, “What you deserved.” In her mind, what she’d done all those years ago wasn’t anything spectacular, it was simply what she thought was right. Laura had lost her own mother far earlier than what she’d felt was fair, and so gravitating towards Taliah after she’d emigrated from Turkey had felt as natural as breathing. “Hey…well, I’m always here, alright? Don’t care what it’s about, what hour of the night– you’re family.” That had always rang true, even before she’d been involved with Cole, and it’d be true regardless, though Laura selfishly hoped she wouldn’t even have to factor in that possibility. “I can agree to that. What he doesn’t know can’t hurt him, right?” She was talking about keeping the tears to themselves, of course. That was easy enough in her mind. Really, she’d rather focus on a different promise– the way Taliah vowed to keep her nephew safe. Promising to love him was a given– the bare minimum she’d expect– but keeping him safe? It was something altogether different– a weight Laura felt that Taliah truly understood. “You know what’s nice?” She started, tipping her head to the side as she gazed at the other woman, “I actually believe you when you say that– that he’s safe with you. That’s a first.” For so long, she’d been so reluctant to let go and actually trust someone to give a shit about Cole the way she did, but this…here and now? It felt easier than breathing. “I mean– of course, there’s the club, and all that, but…as far as keeping his heart safe…I know you mean it.”

boom // chibs telford x oc
Chibs Telford x F!OC (Ellie Drysdale/Telford)
Warnings: 18+, violence, language, pregnancy, mentions of sex, heavy conversation
Word Count: 4,469
A/N: This one's pretty lengthy and dramatic, so buckle in.
It was really a normal day. Gemma has been acting odd recently, but I was doing my best to just ignore it for now until it became a bigger issue. She had become a stand-in mother for me and a stand-in grandmother for my son, and hopefully for our little one on the way. We work together every day I'm not at Cara Cara doing work there and she had still yet to tell me anything. Even now, she's not communicating with me and instead is whispering to Clay.
Rolling my eyes, I stand up to try and ask Chibs when we can head home when I see him getting in a van that had been dropped off earlier so that it can be worked on. I watch as he turns the key and I know then that something is wrong. I can just barely hear a high-pitched squeal followed by a series of beeps and I know. I know what it is and what I'm about to see and it still doesn't prepare me for the sight of my husband and the father of my children flying through the air as flames burst up around him.
I run at him, not caring about anything except stopping his head from slamming into the hard concrete. Opie grabs me from behind, careful to not put any pressure on my stomach, and I fight him, just wanting to see the life behind Chibs' eyes.
"Get the fuck off me! Filip, please, please. Filip," I scream as everyone else starts to rush towards him while Opie keeps fighting me to keep me where I am. I finally manage to break free from Opie's arms and run to Chibs, dropping to the ground next to him. I can't contain my sobs at the sight of a pool of blood surrounding his head.
Suddenly, I'm eight again. Mum was taking me to get chocolate from the candy shop around the corner for getting good grades at school. I had run ahead in my excitement and I looked back at her, a smile on my face that reflected her own. Then, the worst thing that could possibly happen to a child happens to me; I watch as the car next to my mother explodes and her body flies through the air, just like Chibs. She landed and everything felt eerily silent as everyone around us stood and watched. By the time I got the courage to walk over to her, strangers had surrounded her body and were trying to figure out what to do, but it was too late. She was dead as soon as she slammed her head against the ground and a piece of shrapnel embedded in her stomach.
I'm brought back to the moment at the sound of Jax yelling for Tara. As she runs over, I lean down close to Chibs' ear and begin whispering to him, hoping and praying that he can hear even just a word that I've said.
"Don't leave us. Please, Filip, I need you. I can't do this without you. I love you. Come back to me, please, come back to me. I'm not losing you like I lost her. I won't survive it."
"Ellie, sweetheart, you've gotta move. You've gotta move so that Tara can help him," Gemma tells me gently as she tries to pull me away.
"I can't leave him. He'll die if I leave him," I yell at her, but she doesn't listen, just keeps trying to pull me away. "Please, let me just stay here with him."
She looks over at Opie and nods, signaling for him to pick me up and drag me away from my bleeding husband. I scream at him and pummel his chest, though it doesn't seem to phase him. He tries to carry me into the clubhouse, which just makes me even angrier.
"I will never fucking forgive you for this, Opie. Why would you do this to me? Why, why, why" I repeat over and over again. He runs his hand over my hair in an attempt to soothe me as I cry into his chest.
"If he dies, Ellie, I'm not going to sit there and let you watch it happen. Not like your mom. Not like how I saw Donna."
We sit in the silence of the clubhouse, just me and him until the sound of the ambulance getting here cuts through the air. I've calmed down a little and I walk out of the clubhouse to see them loading Chibs onto a stretcher, a swarm of EMTs surrounding him. They try to stop me from getting into the ambulance with them, but Tara explains who I am and they allow me in.
For the next couple of hours, everything seems to blur. They haven't allowed me to see him, so I've been stuck pacing around the waiting room. Gemma and Opie are there with me and continually try to get me to sit down or drink some water, but all I can think about is what I saw. I keep running my hand across my stomach, thinking about our little one that may never know how incredible his father is. I'm so distracted that I completely forgot that Killian was at daycare and that he needed to be picked up. Gemma offers to get him, leaving just Opie and me in the waiting room.
"Ellie, come sit."
"No."
"Ellie, come drink some water."
"No."
"Is that the only word you know now? Did you also hit your head?" He shuts up after I smack across the back of the head for that and continue my pacing.
I look up in anticipation when I hear the sound of doors opening, but it's just Jax coming in. He comes over to me and wraps his arms around me, kissing the top of my head as I wrap my arms around him.
"Any news yet," He asks gently. I shake my head and he lets out a deep sigh. "Come sit and drink some water. Don't want to dehydrate the little one."
I follow him to the chairs and when he hands me a bottle of water and I take a sip, Opie scoffs but quickly looks away from me when I turn to glare at him. The three of us sit in silence for another twenty minutes before Tara finally comes out.
"Is he okay? Can I go and see him? Please tell me that I can come and see him," I ask her rapidly as I run over to her. She grips both of my arms and rubs up and down before answering me.
"He's in critical condition. There were a couple of close calls, but he seems to be leveling out a little more now. You can go and see him, but only you for now. I can take you back now if you want." I take a deep breath at her words before eagerly agreeing to go and see him. I try to walk through the doors but Jax stops me.
"Ellie, you need to take this water with you and you need to rest," He orders, though he seems to second guess it when I cock one eyebrow up at him.
"I'm not one of your brothers, Jackson Teller. I'll drink water if I want to drink some damn water, but I'm sure as fuck not going to do it just because you told me to." He rolls his eyes but hands me a bottle of water before kissing my cheek, and Opie does the same before Tara leads me down the hallway to Chibs' room, staying in the hallway once we get there.
The sight of him lying up in the bed with gauze wrapped around his head makes me want to crumple to the floor. This is the only time that I have ever seen my husband look weak and it breaks my heart. He has gotten me through so much and protected me despite the danger that it puts him in. I press my lips on his shut eyelids before pressing them against his scars because it soothes him, just him kissing my scars soothes me. I pull the chair as close to the edge of the bed as I can before wrapping both of my hands around one of his, kissing our joined hands three times, just like he always does.
"Hi, baby," I say quietly to him despite not knowing whether or not he can hear me. "You really scared me, Filip. Don't do it again, okay? We've just gotta make it through the night and you'll be okay. You have to be okay."
I continue to talk to him quietly until I fall asleep with my head resting on his bed. I wake up a couple of times throughout the night when the nurses come in to check on him, but other than that nobody disturbs us. I fully wake up when I feel a rough hand running over my hair, and I open my eyes to find Chibs just barely awake. Just seeing his open eyes sends me into a fit of tears.
"Little lamb, why are you crying?"
"Don't call me that right now," I say through my tears. "I can't be mad at you if you call me that and I should be angry with you for being an idiot and almost getting yourself blown up."
"How was I supposed to know that there was a bomb in that car," He asks, obviously in disbelief that I would blame him for this.
"We came here from bloody Ireland, Filip! You always inspect a car before you get in. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I married a fucking idiot," I mumble to myself which makes him laugh, and my anger releases at the sound.
"I'll do well to remind you of that, lass, the next time that you get into your car or on your bike without properly inspecting it," He replies. Cheeky bastard. "Now, climb up here and let me hold my woman."
I probably should tell him that it's a bad idea, but I would die to be wrapped in his arms right now so I eagerly climb into the bed next to him. I try to be gentle with him as I lay my head on his chest with my arms around his waist. I finally feel peace for the first time in sixteen hours and I soak it up while I still can. Eventually, someone will come in here with news that will break our bubble of peace but for now, I'll just soak it all up.
"Love you, lamb," He whispers in my ear.
"Love you more, mo chride," I answer. I rarely speak in Gaelic anymore and I usually only use it for pet names for Chibs or Declan.
Our little bubble is popped by Jax and Clay entering the room, closely followed by Bobby and Tig. I try to hide my agitation at their presence, but it's pretty difficult to do while being so emotionally and physically exhausted.
"There's our Chibby boy! Just about died and already getting pussy," Tig yells loudly as he enters.
"Tig, it's not pussy if he's married to me, you fucking idiot," I snap at him, but it seems to go right over his head.
"Glad you're alive, brother," Jax says as he ignores what Tig said and sits in the chair that I slept in all night, making himself right at home like always.
"It was Zobelle. We're trying to make a plan on what we want to do next, brother, but we're going to make sure that he hurts for what he did," Clays says, getting straight to business like always.
"I trust you all to handle it," Chibs answers.
His complete faith in his brothers never failed to fill me with even more love for him and them. If he didn't have faith in them the way that he does, I don't know if I would be able to trust them to protect us when Jimmy inevitably destroys the life that we've built here. Without their protection, I would have spent the past six years constantly looking over my shoulder and not allowing myself to actually live. I wouldn't have been able to properly love Chibs the way he deserves and I definitely would not have been able to allow myself to have children without knowing that they would never let anything happen to them.
This is what I keep in mind as I spend the next couple of days going back and forth between TM and the hospital, stopping in between to spend time with Killian and taking him to see his Da, which he loves. I take him one morning before I drop him off at daycare so that I can work with Gemma in the office at TM so that I won't feel quite as restless. Killian is sitting in his Da's lap, babbling about who-knows-what, when the door to Chibs' room opens and my heart stops.
I had only seen pictures of Fiona, but I had seen enough of them to know that's who was standing in front of us. Not only is she my husband's ex-wife, but she is also the wife of the man who has been actively trying to kill me since I was an eighteen-year-old girl in Belfast just trying to survive after her father's death. Where Fiona goes, Jimmy is two steps behind and Chibs and I both know that.
"Good morning," She says, smiling despite the fact that she knows who I am and knows what I mean to Jimmy. She looks me up and down, her eyes stopping on my barely visible bump under a SAMCRO sweatshirt before she makes eye contact with me. She looks over at Killian and then at Chibs and seems to connect the dots, a slight look of anger and confusion covering her face. It's that look that makes me grab Killian off of Chibs' lap and hold him close to me.
"What are you doing here," Chibs asks wearily.
"We heard you got hurt, so we came to check on you. Kerrianne sends her love," Fiona replies as she settles herself in the chair next to the bed. Her use of 'we' instead of 'I' terrifies me and her smirk indicates that she knows that it does.
"Well, I'll let you two catch up," I say as I plaster a fake smile across my face and make my way toward the door.
"Nice to see you, Eleanor," Fiona says and I exit without turning back around. Once I'm a couple of doors down, I frantically pull out my phone and call Jax.
"Hey, darlin'. What's up," He answers and I can hear the sound of laughter in the background, telling me that he's probably at the clubhouse.
"Jax, I don't know what to do. Fuck, I don't know what to do. We made a plan and I still don't know what to do," I ramble as I quicken my pace, just trying to get out of the hospital and into my car.
"Slow down, Ellie. What happened? Whatever it was, we can fix it."
"She's here, which means that he's here. Fuck, Jax. Fuck, fuck, fuck," I whimper into the phone. I finally reach my car and rushedly buckle Killian in. Once he's settled in, I jump into the driver's seat and speed out of the parking lot.
"Who's here? Ellie, what the fuck is going on? Tell me what happened," He says, beginning to lose to laughter in his voice.
"Fiona is with Chibs, which means that Jimmy is in Charming. I had to get out of there, I had Killian and I didn't know if he was in the building with her or somewhere else, but I can't let him see Killian. I messed up, Jax." Panic seeps into my voice more and more as I speak and I don't know how to stop it. I'm heading towards the clubhouse because I don't think that there's anywhere else that is safe for me right now.
"Come to the clubhouse now. We'll go into lockdown and then we'll go from there. Do not hang up the phone."
In the six years that I have lived here, we have somehow managed to never have Jimmy come here. The Irish come often, but we always make sure that I'm nowhere near the club when they're here, usually sending me up to the cabin to stay with Piney. Now, the moment when Chibs is his weakest, he's decided to make a visit. He knows what that vulnerability will mean for his chances of reaching me. There are very few times when I am without Chibs or at least another club member that is willing and ready to lay down their life for me. Now I'm pregnant and alone with my one-year-old who doesn't even know how to walk.
My hands shake as I turn into the parking lot of TM and prospects close the gates behind me. Everyone is standing outside of the clubhouse waiting for me and they're quick to usher Killian and me out of the car. The second that we've cleared the doorway and I know that Gemma has my son, I lean over the closest trashcan and puke my guts out. Jax holds my hair out of the way as I continually empty my stomach out of anxiety.
"I left him there alone. I don't know what I was thinking," I finally manage to say with my head still hanging in the trashcan. Jax rubs up and down my back with his hand that's not holding my hair back to try and calm me down.
"We had Half-Sack watching the two of you and he's still there watching out for Chibs. It's good that you got out of there, Ellie. Fiona won't do anything to Chibs, but we don't know if the same is true for you," He reassures me.
"It doesn't matter what Fiona would do or not do to me. She knows that I'm here, what I mean to Chibs, and that we're both weak right now. There's no way that she won't share that information with Jimmy and he'll destroy me and everyone that I've ever known," I say, getting more agitated as I stand back up to look at him. "I walk around every day with the reminder of what he did to me and every morning I look at my husband and see what he did to him. That was only a fraction of his anger, and that was before I hid from him for six years."
"We're not going to let him touch you or Chibs or anyone else in the club. We can handle this, Ellie, and I don't know why you don't understand that," Jax yells at me, starting to get in my face. This is the only time that he has ever raised his voice at me and I know that it's just because he's stressed about everything that's happened in the past couple of days but it's hard not to get pissed off at him for it.
"I'm sorry if I don't believe that you are all infallible, Jax, but my life and the lives of my family are on the line. I can't put all of my faith in you the way that Chibs does and I'm going to ask you not to make me."
He looks at me in disbelief before walking into the Chapel and slamming the door closed behind him. I don't know how he can ask so much of me when he's having his own doubts about the club. I look over at Opie for some sort of help and he seems just as surprised as I am.
"Sweetheart, we need to get you out of here. This will probably be one of the first places he checks," Gemma says as she comes up behind me, wrapping her arm that's not holding Killian around my shoulders.
"We'll take you up to the cabin and leave Opie and Juice up there with you. You'll need to stay there until we can confirm that Jimmy has gone back to Ireland. We'll get you a burner so that you can talk to Chibs, but you can't talk to anyone outside of the club. That's the only way to truly keep your location safe," Clays says from his seat at the bar. He seems almost bored as he issues marching orders and everyone starts moving.
"I'll go to your house and pack up a couple of things for the two of you. I'll be back and then drive you up there," Gemma assures me as she hands me Killian so that she can leave.
As everyone else is talking and preparing the convoy to take me up there, I sneak over to the Chapel room and knock gently before walking in. Jax sits there, a lit cigarette in his hand and his head between his hands on the table. When he looks up and sees me there with Killian, he puts out his cigarette smoke so that neither of us is inhaling it. I pull out the seat next to him and sit down with Killian on my lap. I slide my hand onto his shoulder and squeeze it before just resting my hand there.
"I love you, Jax, you know that. You helped give me a home when I had nothing and you've always protected my family," I tell him as he continues to stare at the table. "But, I'm scared. I'm more scared than when I ran away from him because it's not just me anymore. I care about too many people and the thought of me being the reason that they're hurt or killed is nauseating. Jimmy's sick obsession with me will only end with one of us dead, and I'm terrified that it'll be me."
"I won't let him touch you, Ellie," Jax asserts. The tenseness in his voice is there in his shoulders too and I just want to push the pain away for him.
"You can promise me that all you want, Jax, but it's hard to put all of my trust in that. Chibs is the love of my life - he's it for me and there are some days when he promises the same and I can't believe him. I need you to trust me as much as you need me to trust you and let my judgment carry some weight. They're sending us up to the cabin and I want you to come up with us." He nods and proceeds to sit there in silence. I kiss the top of his head and stand up to leave when he grabs my hand.
"Love you too, Els," He quietly says before letting go of my hand to let me leave.
Once I'm back in the storm of people, I'm whisked into Gemma's car where she's waiting for me with our bags packed into the trunk. I've just finished buckling Killian into his car seat when Jax comes out of the clubhouse, stopping to kiss Gemma's cheek. He turns to me, nods once, and climbs onto his bike where the rest of the club is. I'm about to climb into the passenger seat when Opie brings me a burner phone. As soon as we're on the road, I type in Chibs' number that I've memorized every time he's gotten a new burner just in case I ever need it.
"Hello," He answers snappily, obviously not knowing it was me.
"Hey, baby. It's me."
"Oh, lamb, I'm so sorry. I don't know how she found out that I was hurt, but I'll track the fucker down and kill him. Are you okay? Are you safe? Have you talked to the club? Where are they gonna take you and my little lad?" He always asks a million questions without ever giving me the opportunity to answer.
"We're on the way up to the cabin now. Jax and I got into a little bit, but they're gonna leave Juice and Opie up there with us until Jimmy is back in Belfast. I don't know where to go from here, Filip. I can't just leave our life at the drop of a hat whenever he comes here. It won't be fair to the kids and it's not fair to you and me."
"I'm gonna handle it, darling, I promise you-"
"You said you were going to handle it before we got engaged. Then before we got married. Then before Killian was born. Then before Killian turned one. Well, we're married, Killian is one, and I'm three months pregnant with our next child. Either you handle it now, Filip, or I handle it but we're not going to live like this anymore. I'm not going to live my life with his existence looming over me every day. It will kill me, Chibs. It will tear away at me until I'm a shell of the woman you fell in love with and I can't do that to you."
He's so quiet that I worry that the call has dropped. A tear rolls down my cheek and I rush to wipe it away before Gemma sees it. Right as I'm about to say something to break the silence, he sighs.
"Why didn't you tell me what this was doing to you, baby?"
"God, Filip, because there's always something in the way. Something with another club or someone's in jail or a deal goes wrong. I love the club and I love your love for the club, baby, but it's gonna kill me. It's gonna kill us if we don't do something now to end this cycle of suffering," I reply while a piece of my heart breaks. My words will cut deeper into him than anything else ever will and I hate that I'm doing this to him but I also know that I can't lose him or myself to this when we both don't deserve that.
"I'll kill him while he's in the States. If he leaves before they discharge me from this goddamn hospital, I'll go to Belfast and I'll kill him. He'll be dead and you'll be free from his burden. I'm gonna love the fuck out of you, Eleanor, and we're gonna be happy and you're gonna be safe. I hate myself for not seeing what this was doing to you earlier, but that's my burden. All I need you to do is listen to the club, keep yourself and our boys safe, and let me handle this," He proclaims as though it's the simplest thing in the world.
"I still don't think we're having another boy," I reply and his laughter eases the tension of our heavy conversation.
"Well, I think we are and if we're not, I'll just have to keep getting you pregnant until we do."
"Promise?"
"Always."

mum?
mother figure!nat x fem!teen!reader
avengers x reader
req by @teenwonder ; i absolutely love the entire teams adoration for reader skfksngnsf its so cute! could i please request one a little more nat based? maybe r treats and loves nat like a mom but nat hadn’t noticed that before, and the whole team is like listing examples of how and why 🥺🥺🥺
summary: the four times you needed nat and the one time she admits that she needed you too.
warnings: blood, a random attack out of nowhere because i'm not creative, inaccurate writing of medical situations because i have no idea how those things work, also let's just pretend bruce was around during iron man 2 when tony still had palladium in his arc reactor, also inaccurate descriptions of palladium effects bcs i just...don't know much about palladium pls forgive me thanks, and idk any hospitals in new york/manhattan or even the states LMAO so uh bear with this, and last but not least, my inability to write good endings
word count: 5426
notes: that's a long ass warning nevertheless pls do enjoy this fic <3
"i'm going now, bye!" you bid the team who were having breakfast together, walking out of the common area.
"bye, cupcake! don't get into trouble, don't do what i'd do and definitely don't do what i wouldn't do." tony advised and you rolled your eyes because tony says that to you every morning before you leave for school.
"wait, don't forget your lunch!" nat stands up from her seat and grabs your lunch that she had packed, from the kitchen island, bringing it over to you. "thanks, nat!" you grabbed it, giving her a quick peck on the cheek before leaving.
nat smiles at the action, turning around to walk back to her spot on the table, only to find the team staring back at her with knowing looks.
"what?"
"you know, you only need to sign a couple papers and the kid's all yours." tony states matter-of-factly. nat snaps her head towards the man, an incredulous look on her face. "what are you talking about?"
"we all see the longing looks on both your faces. she's dying for you to call her your daughter and you, her mother." clint explains and the others nodded in agreement.
"that's nonsense. she has wanda too," nat reasons, sitting back down. "i'm pretty sure she sees wanda as a sister considering how much she drags wanda with her whenever she's causing trouble around the tower." steve raises his brows at the redhead who was in denial.
"she sees you as her mother, nat. just accept it," wanda tells her, taking a sip from her glass. "really? name me one time she showed it." nat challenges them, not knowing that they've been watching your interactions with her for the longest time.
"you have no idea what you just got yourself into, romanoff," clint chuckles, cracking his neck and knuckles as if preparing for a fight.
"remember new mexico?" he smirks and nat only frowns, trying to remember.
i.
"no!" you screamed, dropping down to the ground. you didn't care that you scraped your knees doing that, the only thing that mattered was the overwhelming feeling of grief engulfing your whole being. tears streamed down your face as you looked at the debris on the ground, the remainder of what used to be standing in front of you; a building. blown up, now in ruins.
clint, bucky and steve watched you break down in front of them, their hearts breaking at the sight in front of them as well as the fact that their teammate had been caught up in the middle of the explosion.
"y/n/n? come on, tony's team called for back up. we gotta go," steve tried to get you to stand up, failing when you kept your ground. you screamed when he tried again and their hearts clenched at the heartbreaking sound.
"we can't just leave her! please, we have to find her," you cried, clinging onto steve's body as he ran his hand up and down your suit-cladded back to soothe you. "y/n/n, we can't. the whole place is in ruins now," he didn't want to say it but he had to. he had to in order to get you to leave. "she's gone."
"she can't be gone! she can't just leave us! we need her! i need her, stevie.." you cried into his chest and he had to control himself so he didn't cry right then and there too.
he looked up to see bucky looking at the two of you guiltily, tapping his wrist to indicate that they were running out of time. steve had no choice but to carry you in his arms, getting you to leave the site against your will. but you were too weak to fight back now. "what am i gonna do without her now, stevie?" you asked quietly.
"we're gonna be okay, y/n/n," he tells you, sitting you down on a chair and settling down next to you as clint flew the jet to your next location. the atmosphere was tense and you could tell everyone, too, was sad about this.
"what if we're not? what if we're not gonna be okay, stevie? i know i won't be." you wiped the tears streaming down your face despite the fact that your face still wasn't drying up any time soon.
"because nat wouldn't want to see us like this. she'll be angry if she sees that we're risking people's lives just because of her." he says truthfully.
"we're landing, guys." clint announces and the team prepared for another round of fighting. steve turns to you, wiping the tears on your face as he made you look up at him. "now let's save some people and make nat proud, yeah?"
you nod at him sadly, preparing your weapons. all of you got out the jet and the second battle of the day begun. boy, were these people unlucky because they were on the receiving end of your fury.
you were busy taking down a group of guards alone when you heard a familiar voice. "y/n, behind you!" and you turned just in time to take down a guard who was aiming at you.
you didn't even have time to register your shock of seeing the redhead because more guards came at you two. you guys fought alongside each other until all the men were taken down.
"nat?" you breathed out. "yes, bub?" she answers as you both carefully walked over the knocked out men. she was taken aback when you slammed into her, hugging her the tightest you ever did since you met her.
"please don't ever do that again." you mumbled into her chest. she was about to ask you what you meant when she heard you sniffling. figuring out it wasn't the appropriate moment to ask, she continued to just hug and comfort you in silence.
"wait, that was why she cried that day? because she thought i was in that building when it blew up?" nat asks after steve finished the story. "i never found out why because she never told me."
"yeah, you should've seen her when the building exploded. completely shattered my heart, dude." clint states, remembering the broken down state you were in that day.
"wait, did you guys not grief over my supposed death then?" nat glares at clint, bucky and steve. "in our defense, they were about to blow up about a hundred people, we didn't have much time to process the whole situation." clint tries to convince his best friend, only to receive a glare again from her.
"alright but just because she cried when she thought i was dead, doesn't mean she sees me as her mum. i'd cry too if any one of you guys died," she states, still in denial.
she did love you like how a mother would love her child. but she didn't want you to feel that she was forcing the title onto you. after all, you had so many other adults around you, who's to say that you saw someone else as a parent figure instead of her? she didn't want to make you uncomfortable.
"woman, are you serious?" sam exclaims, throwing his hands up in the air dramatically. "need i remind you that the girl sacrificed her life for you?"
ii.
"nat, watch out!" you stood right behind her where the man was about to attack her. you gave him a harsh kick to the head and that was all it took for the man to go unconscious.
the redhead turned around, not having enough time to comprehend what had happened before you dropped into her arms. you two were lucky the last of the men had already been taken out.
"bub? what's wrong?"
at this point, you were fully leaning against her. she was holding up your whole weight, hands wrapped around your middle to support you. that was when she felt it. the familiar thick substance on her fingers, leaking from the back of your suit.
her eyes widened, pulling one hand away from you to look at it. red. her breathing picked up as one of her hands felt around your back, finally feeling the handle of a knife sticking out from your back.
your eyes were already drooping by now and she lightly shook you awake, careful to not hurt you. she lowered you down and you were both sat on the floor now.
she presses a finger to her ear and you could hear her voice echo in your ear from your own comms. "can someone come please," she paused, exhaling shakily. "y/n's down."
if it had been any other person, she probably would be bringing them to the jet by now but it was you. she didn't know what came over her but when she saw that you were injured, it was like her whole body shut down. her knees felt weak and she couldn't bring herself to move.
"hey, hey, keep your eyes open. can you do that?" she asked gently and you nodded weakly. "bub, why did you do that?" she cried softly, moving your hair away from your face as you leaned sideways against her. the action caused your face to be smudged by your own blood from her hands but she didn't care as she caressed your cheek.
"he–he was gonna hurt you. i–i couldn't..." you paused a while, the pain getting too much for you to bear. "y/n, don't strain yourself. you need to stay awake," she tells you as tears streamed down her face.
"rather me than you," you whispered. nat's eyes widened at this. "don't say that, bub." she scolds gently.
you smiled weakly at her. "i've grown too dependent on you, nat. it's to the point that i," you coughed and nat worried that you were straining yourself but you continued. "that i'd rather die than live without you. you probably can go on with life without me but i can't without you. i need you, nat." your eyes closed and nat panics, shaking your body.
"y/n?! bub?! stay awake, please, they're coming!" nat cries out loud, holding onto your limp body.
"did we not agree to not mention that to me anymore?" nat glares at sam for bringing that up.
the night of that incident had been one of the worst nights for nat. she sat by your bed all night after you had been treated. she had been the first one you saw after you woke up. she had been the one you broke down in front of after you admitted the full reasoning behind your actions. she had been the one who opened her arms for you to make yourself at home in.
"i'm sorry but you must be blind if you can't see how really she sees you for the past years," bucky states. nat turns to him with a glare. "you don't know what you're talking about."
"oh really? who does she call whenever she has a really bad nightmare?" bucky questions rhetorically with his eyebrows raised.
iii.
"no, please, don't!" you begged, asleep and thrashing around in your bed. quiet whimpers turned into heavy breathing as you plead for your life in your nightmare. "please," you whispered, inhaling and exhaling harshly.
FRIDAY, noticing the amount of distress you were in, alerted the closest person to your room, that being bucky who was returning from a late night trip to the kitchen for some water.
he quickly went into your room, only to see you shivering and thrashing around in your bed. "doll?" he approaches slowly, finding you still asleep, though sweating a lot. nightmare, he realised.
"doll? wake up," he gently shakes you and you immediately jolt awake, breathing heavily as you register what was going on. "it's okay, it was just a nightmare," he soothes you, holding you close as one hand rubbed up and down your back while the other held your head to his chest.
none of that helped as you were still in the same state as you were when you woke up. "are you okay?" he asks, worried. "nat... i need nat.. please i need her," you whimpered, shaking in his hold. you were having trouble breathing.
"FRIDAY, get romanoff."
within minutes, nat arrived, looking panicked and disheveled like she had just woken up, which she just did. "what's wrong?" she asks bucky, approaching you two.
"she was having a nightmare and woke up and i think she's having a panic attack. she asked for you," he informs her and immediately moves away when she approaches, so that she could take his place.
"bub? it's me," you look up to meet natasha's pretty green eyes. "you're okay, bub. can you tell me five thing you can see?"
you looked away from her eyes, looking around your room. "i–i see my book on my nightstand, my lamp, my jacket on the chair, my laptop and the painting on the wall." you told her after some difficulties.
"good, that's good. four things you can feel?"
"i feel the socks on my feet, my fluffy blanket, the pillow i'm leaning on and your hands around me."
she smiles softly at you. "three things you can hear?"
"i hear your voice. a–and the faint noise from the ac and i can also hear bucky's breathing." you look up at the man and he smiles sheepishly at you, standing around awkwardly. you gave him a small smile back.
"two things you can smell?"
"i can smell my own shampoo..and my room's air freshener." you told her more calmly now, feeling the panic attack already going away.
"one thing you want to taste?"
"i wanna taste wanda's blueberry pancakes." you pout and the two adults couldn't help but chuckle. "you can have them in the morning. right now you need to sleep so you can have the energy to devour them tomorrow, okay?" you nod at the woman as she tucks you in.
not long after, you fell asleep. she then presses a kiss to your forehead before leaving with a less worried bucky now. and sure enough, the next morning, wanda made you blueberry pancakes.
"okay, so what? we all need someone to help us through panic attacks?" nat rolls her eyes. "did you miss the part where i came in and tried to help but she specifically asked for you? she needed you, nat."
"guys, i... i love her with my whole heart but she has all of us. i don't wanna make her feel like she's restricted to only one of us. you all love her too," nat reasons.
"yes but she doesn't have anyone to call her mum and frankly, i think you'd be perfect for it." wanda encourages the older woman.
"i—" before she could continue, her phone rang loudly and she thanked whoever it was that called her because now she didn't have to make up excuses about her doubt of becoming your official mother.
iv.
she looks down at the caller id, sighing when it was you, meaning the team had more against her now. of course she didn't mind you calling her, you could call her when she'd be asleep after a mission and she'd still pick up with a smile on her face. but it was the fact that the whole team could see how she softened when she realised it was you who called that bothered her. she really didn't want them to let her have hopes that you'd accept her as your mother.
"bub?" she said into the phone and half the team smirked at her while the other half gave her knowing smiles. "aren't you supposed to be on your way to school?"
"yeah but uh are you busy right now? i um, i need you."
nat immediately stands up, worry etched onto her face and the team frowned at this. "what happened? are you okay?"
"you know how i told happy i wanted to walk to school today? yeah, i just remembered why i don't walk to school anymore."
"what do you mean? what happened? are you hurt? did someone hurt you?" she bombards you with questions out of worry. at this point, the team had also stopped their chatter and teasing looks, equally worried for your well-being.
"yeah, i am. wait, maybe not. i mean, i was just being dramatic but uh, i tripped on who-knows-what and now i have a sprained ankle. i can't walk now so i'm standing in an alley right now so i'm not in the way of people. can you come get me?"
nat sighs in relief, thankful that it wasn't anything that she was thinking of. "you are unbelievable, y/n." she chuckles in disbelief at your clumsiness. "can you tell me where you are? i'll come get you now. i'll have the school know you're not coming today." you told her your location and she immediately leaves after telling the team what happened to you.
you were expecting nat to call again, to tell you she was around the corner but instead you heard a whoosh of air beside your head, followed by a crack sound. your head followed the sound, eyes widening when you saw that a dart had struck the wall beside your head. you looked ahead, trying to see where that came from.
if it hadn't been for your fast reflexes being an avenger for the past few years, you probably wouldn't have ducked in time when another dart came flying right for your head. "what the hell?" you grunted, staying low but still looking around for the source. you squinted when you looked up, the sun blazing but you managed to catch a glimpse of a man on a rooftop nearby. he had blonde hair and was dressed in all black, donning a same coloured mask that covered the bottom half of his face.
"you had one job! how could you miss her twice?!" the blonde hears his colleague hiss in his ear through the earpiece. "i'm sorry! i'm no hawkeye, how was i supposed to get her in one try?!" he scolds back.
"you didn't even get her in two!"
"shut up and just let me work! you're distracting me!"
"hurry because i see the redheaded one nearing the alley. boss'll kill us if he finds out we didn't get her in her vulnerable state."
"i'm trying, i'm trying!" the blonde closes one eye, his sight now locked on your crouched state. he saw you move once you saw him and he cursed under his breath, his weapon following your movements. "she's moving!"
"just take the shot and be done with it! you have to go now!"
and shoot he did. after he shot the dart gun, he immediately fled but it wasn't like you were going to be able to chase him down or anything. a scream left your lips as a dart pierced through your skin, right under your shoulder.
you dropped down to the ground, right in the middle of the alleyway. you cried when you felt the burn in your flesh. you had been stabbed multiple times before with much bigger objects so why did this feel different?
"y/n?! is that you?!" you heard nat's voice yell from a small distance away. "i'm here," you croaked out, feeling your body grow weaker at an alarming rate.
"oh my god, bub, why are you on the ground? it's dirty, c'mon let's get you up. which foot did you sprain?" she places both her hands under your arms, pulling you up on your feet before accidentally dropping you back when you let out a shriek, crying out in pain.
"oh my god, did i hit your ankle? are you okay?" nat assumed that your tear-stained face was because of your sprained ankle but then you wheezed, your eyes drooping the longer she stood there.
your right hand slowly reached across your left shoulder, the butt of the dart sticking out of your skin now in between your shaking fingers. nat's eyes followed your hand movement's, a gasp leaving her lips.
"y/n, what happened?!" she panicked but before she could even get an answer from you, you had already blacked out. her eyes widened, knowing it was the dart because why else would you pass out that quick from a simple penetration in the shoulder. you had dealt with much worse than that and she knew your tolerance level.
she took off your bag, careful to not move the dart. she then placed her hands under your knees and behind your back, easily picking your unconscious body up and rushing back to the tower.
when she arrived, she was met with many confused yet concerned looks from the tower staff, seeing the black widow, rushing in with the youngest avenger unconscious in her arms. they had seen you leave the tower for school about half an hour ago so they knew something must've happened on the way.
"get bruce in the hospital wing. tell him it's urgent." she tells the woman working the front desk, hurrying into the elevator and telling FRIDAY to get her to the floor she so desperately wanted to arrive at quicker. black lines appeared on the left side of your neck, slowly spreading to the right side and she assumed it was from that damned dart in your left shoulder.
"natasha! what's wrong? they said it was an emergency," the doctor spoke in a panicked voice when nat entered, immediately going quiet when he saw you in her arms, neck lined with seemingly black veins.
nat laid you down on the surgery table, frown growing when black lines steadily spread to your arms now. though she was too worried to think, she managed to at least tell bruce what was outwardly wrong with you.
"dart. left shoulder." she blurted, incapable of forming proper sentences now that she had seen more of you. the black lining your skin got her speechless and anxious. bruce got ready with medical gloves, removing the dart from your flesh before analysing the pattern of your skin. it looked familiar.
"FRIDAY, get tony down here. it's urgent."
"bruce, please, what's wrong with her?" she cried, tears now freely streaming down her face. she didn't cry much in front of anyone but when it came to you, you always managed to get her to do just that.
"hey, what's going on? FRIDAY said there was an emergency here, who's hurt?" nat heard tony's panicked voice but she didn't make an effort to reply. her gaze was fixed on only you.
tony's jaw dropped, frowning when he saw you on the bed, upper body covered in black lines. "what the hell happened?!"
tony stepped beside bruce, taking a closer look at your skin. his frown deepened. "wait, it looks like.."
"yeah, looks exactly like when you had palladium instead of vibranium in your arc reactor."
"does that mean—"
"palladium's been running through her veins for about twenty minutes now. FRIDAY, how high is her blood toxicity level?" bruce asks, sampling a drop of your blood from when he took out the dart.
"53% and it is still steadily increasing."
"tony, at the rate it's going, if she's not treated in the next fifteen minutes or so, she'll.." bruce pauses, not wanting to say it out loud.
"no, she just needs lithium dioxide. that's how fury and i cured your palladium poisoning, tony." nat finally speaks.
"SHIELD probably has them but they're all the way in dc. they're not gonna reach here in time," tony states solemnly, reaching over to move your hair out of your face, looking down at you sadly.
but he was immediately pulled aside, nat grabbing his collar and looking him straight in the eyes. "you have your stupid iron suits that can probably travel faster than the speed of sound if you try. you can go down there yourself and get the damn thing. i swear to god, tony, i'm literally going to destroy those stupid suits myself if you don't put them to good use." nat threatens, glaring at the billionaire.
tony's eyes widened, the genius having not thought about nat's idea yet. "yeah, yeah, you're right, i'll go now."
he left immediately and nat approached your bed hesitantly, not wanting to see the black lines making home on the skin on your upper body. "do you think tony'll make it back in time?" she sniffles and bruce's worried frown on his face softened. "of course he will. he won't let anything happen to y/n. we won't let anything happen to y/n." he assured her.
there was nothing they could do now but wait for tony to come back with the lithium dioxide. nat sat beside your bed, hands gingerly grasping one of your own. despite the black staining it, nat held it to her face and her tears rolled past the back of your hand.
bruce decided to give her some privacy, opting to inform the whole team of the situation instead of standing around idly.
nat pulled your hand away from her face, rubbing her thumb over the back of it, crying even more at the sight in front of her. "y/n, please. i've never told you this but i need you." she pauses, breathing in shakily. "i've always needed you and i'll always need you. you can't leave me, please. you said i could go on with life without you but you're so wrong, y/n. you're the reason i'm still here and you're the reason i still want to be here. if you're not here then it's as if i have no reason, no purpose. i need you, y/n. so much more than i'd like to admit. heck, probably much more than you need me. so please, don't leave me. i can't do this without you." nat sobs out, watching the patterns on your skin spreading and growing bolder.
at this point, the whole team had now gathered outside of the room, watching nat cry over you. they wanted so bad to get a closer look at their beloved baby avenger but they respected nat and instead, waited for her to finish talking to you. once she stood up and looked around, bruce knew she was done so he entered, followed by the team.
"status, FRIDAY?" bruce asks, sampling a bit of your blood again. "blood toxicity at 96% now."
the team looked your unconscious body in apprehension, some crying and some worried out of their minds.
"goddamnit! where the hell is stark?!" nat growled. her eyes were now puffy after having spent the last half an hour crying. the team had never seen her lose her cool like this but they figured why.
as if on cue, tony's iron man suit crashed through the windows of the room but he couldn't care less. his main priority was to get to you quickly. in his hand was a silver briefcase that he passed to bruce.
bruce opened the case before wasting no time in plunging the syringe containing lithium dioxide, your supposed cure, into you. immediately, the black patterns on your skin started disappearing. it was slow but noticeable. it started from the tips of your fingers, going up towards your neck.
everyone sighed in relief, and to tony's surprise, nat hugged him tightly. "thank you. you have no idea how much this means to me." she whispers. tony pats her back gently. "hey, i care about her too, okay? of course i'd do this for her. any one of us would."
nat smiles at him when she let him go, turning back to you and almost crying out in joy when your skin had finally turned back to normal. she let the medical assistants set your bed up and handle your sprained ankle before going back to sit by you. the team left her alone with you once again.
it was only about an hour later did you wake up, squinting when bright lights shone down on you. you moved around but you felt hands around your left and you heard a familiar voice.
"and remember when you dragged wanda to pull that prank on me with you and after you did, i grounded you like i was your mum or something?" you hear her chuckle, still not noticing that you've woken up.
"i didn't mind, though. frankly, i don't think i would ever mind if you continued acting like my mother or something," you spoke and she immediately tore her gaze from your hands, looking at you, now wide awake.
"bub!" she hugs you so tightly you didn't think you could breathe. you still returned the hug though, laughing. "i was worried you might still have some palladium in your bloodstream."
"wait, palladium?" you asked her in shock. "yeah, the dart that got you in that alley, it contained palladium. it's highly toxic so we used lithium dioxide to counter it. speaking of the dart, i'm going to find out who did this to you and they're never going to see the light of day for putting us through all of this." nat says, disturbingly calm.
"yeah...you do that," you tell her, slightly scared. "but palladium? in my blood? how cool is that? i had literal metal in my blood! i could've become like tony but like...palladium woman or something." you said excitedly.
"you do know we already have metal in our blood, right bub?" nat questions in amusement. "oh." you say dumbly. "and palladium don't belong in our body and you literally almost died because of it." your mouth opened but no words came out.
"speaking of, can you please not do that again? i really thought i was gonna lose you." she whispers, stroking your hair. "oh yeah, of course. i'll just announce to the whole world to not target the youngest avenger," you joke, smile dropping when nat gave you a stern look.
"nat, being part of the avengers at my age undoubtedly means i'll be a target for the bad people out there, but i don't care because while i get to kick ass, i know all of you have my back when it's my ass that's kicked. and i think that's the best part of being an avenger; the sense of security i get having you amazing people as my teammates." you tell her honestly and she smiles softly.
"oh come here you," she pulls you in for another hug but this time it's better because you could still breathe. you make yourself comfortable, snuggling into her.
"did you mean it?" she asked and you look up at her in confusion. "mean what?"
"when you said you wouldn't mind me acting like your mother."
"of course i do, you're like the mother i never had. i wouldn't even mind you being my actual mother." you say without a second thought, eyes widening when you realised what you had said. you swore under your breath, knowing you've just made it awkward between you two.
"i– really?" despite the teams efforts to make her see the truth, it was much more meaningful when she heard you say it yourself. "y–yeah.." you admit sheepishly.
"then you wouldn't mind if i actually adopted you?" she asks carefully, gauging your reaction. your jaw dropped, eyes going wide once again. "are you serious?!"
"yeah." she smiles at you fondly. "no! of course i won't mind!" you hug her tightly, tears forming in your eyes. you had gone all your life without parents so this was a huge thing for you. not only were you going to finally have a mother, but the most amazing woman you knew was going to be your mother.
"mum?" you tested the title, smiling when she acknowledged it. you were now crying in joy.
"hey, don't cry." she soothes you, running a hand up and down your back. "no, no, i'm just so happy. this is the best day of my life." you tell her. "me too, bub."
you stayed in her arms until you fell back asleep, nat tucking you in before going back to sit down on the chair. she looked down at you fondly.
sure, she was scared of the big step she was about to take with you but she had you with her and she knew that was enough. "i love you, y/n." she whispers, planting a kiss on the side of your head.

your people will have our help
word count: 2.1k
Can’t Sleep: [1] … [3]
Of course you had to jump out of the aircraft into the cold water. What a perfect way to start the mission. Your team swam for a bit before wading through the shore as you approached the beach.
"Congratulations, Bloodsport."
"How'd you do it, Waller? There's no soldiers out here on patrol at all."
The beach was completely empty. There were no disturbances and more importantly, no enemies anywhere to be found. It was... peaceful.
"Let's just say they were distracted."
You only walked on the sand a couple feet before a large explosion erupted.
"Control, we have a disturbance south of here," Bloodsport reported after you jumped in surprise.
"It's just a diversion, Bloodsport."
Bloodsport seemed to weigh his options before speaking, "All right, we cut through the jungle to get to Valle Del Mar."
"Don't they have blockades at the city limits?" Peacemaker interjected.
"That's the word."
"How we getting in? Especially with Charlie the Tuna here," Peacemaker said while looking back at King Shark.
"How the hell am I supposed to know?"
"You're the leader. You're supposed to be decisive."
"And I've decided you should eat a big bag of dicks, how's that?"
"You're being facetious, but if this whole beach was completely covered in dicks and somebody said I had to eat every dick until the beach was clean for liberty, I would say no problemo."
"Why would someone put penises all over the beach?" Ratcatcher II asked.
"Who knows why madmen do what they do."
"Chris, this is the second time you've made a comment like this today. Is there something you want to tell us?" You joked.
"Well, you know what I think?" Bloodsport started. "I think liberty is just your excuse to do whatever you want. Whether that's to eat a beach full of dicks or killin' folk."
"Oh, yeah? At least I don't kill men for money like you."
"Oh, here we go," Bloodsport sighed as he turned to face Peacemaker.
"There's something wrong with your skin," Ratcatcher II called out as she pointed to Polka Dot Man. You turned to see his face covered in bulging colorful... polka dots.
"It's just a rash."
"Oh, my- Abner, are you okay? You don't look so good," you said worriedly as you reached your hand out to touch him. You were interrupted by another loud explosion off in the distance.
"Never mind that, we need to continue forward."
You made it quite the distance before Bloodsport dropped his bag onto the ground. The entire time walking you watched Abner with both curiosity and worry.
"Alright, we'll camp here, and tomorrow we'll go straight through the city to get to La Gatita Amable by nightfall."
Everyone was laying out their sleeping equipment, in this case sleeping bags, as you figured out where you should lay yours.
"Why don't you lay over here, (L/n)? I could keep you warm," Chris offered with a laugh.
"Fuck no," you replied with the same humorous energy. "I'd rather you not roll over on me like you did last time."
"Last time?" Abner piped up timidly.
"It's nothing like that," you assured while rolling your eyes. "Me, Chris, and some of our other teammates at the time had to huddle up for warmth after Waller sent us on a mission somewhere in Siberia."
"Oh," Abner said, kind of relieved.
"I'll just put mine here," you placed your bag next to Abner's and DuBois. "It's near the fire."
You changed into your sleep clothes. Well, to be honest you just took off your shirt and slept in your tank top, but it was close enough. It wasn't long before you drifted off, however, you awoke some time later to some shuffling sounds and a quiet groan. Peeking under your lashes, you find yourself facing toward DuBois who was resting on his elbow, alert. You quietly sat up and turned to see what DuBois was looking at. A colorful light show was dancing on the leaves and tall grass. Almost as quickly as it happened, Abner appeared. He looked a little out of it, but quickly dawned a look of shock as he was caught doing... what exactly?
You got up to make sure your favorite awkward man was doing okay before you were cut off by a loud bang! Instinctively, you disappeared. Literally. DuBois kept shooting Nanaue until he was backed up against a tree.
"How deep of a sleeper are you?" DuBois asked Cleo, to which she responded sleepily, "I was having the most wonderful dream."
"If it was you about to be eaten by King Shark, then you're psychic," Chris said.
"I don't believe he would do that. He has very kind eyes."
Sebastian was saying what you could only guess was that Nanaue was, in fact, going to eat her.
"Hungry," Nanaue whined.
"You bastard!"
Rats from every direction emerged from the darkness as Cleo held up her glowing device. DuBois was looking rather uncomfortable.
"All right, calm down with the rats!" he yelled.
"What?"
"I have a thing with rats."
"You have a thing with rats?"
"Yes."
"And you're on a team with someone who controls them?" your disembodied voice asked.
He whipped around trying to find you before yelling, "What the fuck?"
As if suddenly remembering that you cannot be seen, you revealed yourself behind Abner whom you were using as a shield. As cute as he thought it was that you were using him as protection, it did startle him that you just appeared randomly behind him.
"Partnering up with someone with rats is not something I asked for!"
Peacemaker started laughing.
"What are you laughing at me for, man? Why the fuck are you in your underwear?"
You looked over and sure enough, Chris was in nothing but his underwear.
"Woah!" you yelled while burying your face into Abner's back. "Chris, put on some pants for fucks sake!"
"Tighty-whities? Really?"
"Now that's just racist."
"No, it's not racist! They're tighty-whities!"
"You didn't tell me you had a fear of rats, DuBois," Waller said over the comms.
"I'm an assassin! Why would I share my liabilities?" This was promptly followed by an uncharacteristicly girly scream.
"Aww, he's offering you a pretty leaf to show you he means no harm," Cleo cooed.
"Why the fuck would I want a leaf?"
DuBois was getting increasingly more freaked out while Chris started laughing again.
"Just get the rats out of here!"
Cleo turned off her device and all the rats scurried back into the jungle.
Peacemaker turned to DuBois and asked, "Hey, we gonna kill Megalodouche now, or what?"
"Nanaue's the strongest member of your team. You need him to get into Jotunheim."
"Yeah, well we can't function as a team if we gotta watch our back from one of our own eatin' our bollocks," Bloodsport replied.
"Nanaue," Cleo started as she kneeled down to his height. "Would you eat your friends?"
"I no friends."
"You have no friends? Well, if you did, would you eat them?"
Chris answered with a "yes" before he was shot a look from Ratcatcher II.
"No?"
"Then can we be your friends?"
Chris scoffed, "Come on, he's obviously lying."
"If I die 'cause I gambled on love, it will be a worthy death."
DuBois shook his head, "You are a little idiot."
So much for a full rest. It was nearly morning by the time the shark incident was resolved, so you decided to just pack up and dress yourself.
"Task Force X, you have an additional mission directive. We've located Colonel Rick Flag. He's been taken by the enemy."
"Rick Flag?" DuBois asked while your team made your way through the jungle.
"I know, you both served on special forces in Qurac that took down Avral Kaddam. Flag was the one who initially recommended you."
"You had other operatives in Corto Maltese and didn't tell us?"
"There was no tactical advantage, now there is. I've uploaded the location on your MTS. Terminate his captors with extreme prejudice. Kill anyone you see. These are dangerous people. Recover Flag before moving on to the city."
You eventually made it to a decent sized camp before DuBois MTS started beeping.
"That's where they're holding Flag."
"Nothing like a bloodbath to start the day."
"I thought they called you Peacemaker," Ratcatcher II questioned.
"I cherish peace with all my heart. I don't care how many men, women, and children I need to kill to get it."
Ratcatcher II turned to Polka Dot Man before whispering, "I thought you were the crazy one," which was swiftly answered by you lightly shoving her shoulder.
"I am."
"All right," Bloodsport said, getting everyone's attention. "Let's get it."
You and Nanaue crept behind a man who gave his cup to his buddy.
"Gracias," you heard the man say. Soon after, King Shark picked the man up and ate him as he started screaming. He dropped what looked to be a communication device. Nanaue smacked his mouth as the comms device went off.
"Cualquier cosa?"
As your nearby teammates looked in somewhat fear as to what to do, you picked up the dead soldier's comms and said "Nada, Señora" while perfectly mimicking his voice. Your team carried on.
You hastily turned yourself invisible as you scouted for Rick Flag. It took a couple of minutes but you managed to find the only white guy there. You assumed he was Rick since he was injured, but were they... laughing?
"Bloodsport," you whispered into your comms. "I found Rick Flag. He was laughing?" You sounded unsure.
"Most likely drugged," Peacemaker said. "Where's he located?"
"Northmost tent, past the watchtower." Right after you said that you saw a bunch of colorful polka dots disintegrate the watchtower.
"On our way."
You could hear some of your team's conversation as they approached your location. You made yourself visible again.
"I'm sorry it's so... flamboyant."
"It looks cool," you heard Cleo say.
"I don't like to kill people, but if I pretend it's my mom, it's easy."
"TMI, mate," said DuBois.
More laughter could be heard inside the tent as Bloodsport ripped open the tent curtain. An uncomfortable silence settled.
"DuBois?"
"Hey, Flag."
"What the hell are you doing here?"
Bloodsport looked around confused. "Waller told us that you were... uh... are you drinking tea?"
Flag gestured to his female companion sitting across the table from him, "This is Sol Soria, she's the leader of the freedom fighters, the resistance trying to take down the current government. They-they saved my life."
"Oh. Wow."
Everyone put down their weapons.
"Why did my people not alert me of your arrival?"
You awkwardly hide yourself behind Abner again.
"We didn't see any people," Bloodsport swiftly lied.
"Yeah, I didn't see anybody on the way..." Peacemaker continued.
"There's no one out there."
"They were gone when we got here."
"I turned them into my mother in my head and killed them."
Everyone turned to look at Polka Dot Man. You just sighed and smacked his shoulder. To make matters worse, King Shark hacked up... was that a finger with a wedding ring? Sebastian squeaked out an audible "Uh oh."
Soria promptly lunged off the table and made her way outside. You and your team awkwardly stood amongst the destruction you caused while Flag and Soria looked in pain.
"Typical Americans. Just run in, guns blazing."
"I know, this is messed up. These guys, they're..."
Rick looked behind him to see Peacemaker and Bloodsport getting into a stupid cat fight, while Ratcatcher II was rubbing her face ashamed, and you and Polka Dot Man were looking off into the jungle having your own conversation and not even paying attention.
"They're fucking idiots, but right now our objectives aligh with yours. If Jotunheim contains the technology our intelligence says it does, then it could be used on the people of Corto Maltese as well as Americans. That's why we need your help to get into the city so we can stop 'em."
Soria just stared past Flag and asked, "Is that rat waving at me?"
Sure enough, Rick turned back around to see Sebastian waving at them. Cleo was messing with her hands, Chris and DuBois were looking around while tapping their feet, and you were admiring Abner's polka dots on his costume as he was awkwardly trying to accept your compliments.
"It appears it is."
"Why?"
"I'm gonna guess because it's friendly."
Soria thought for a moment, weighing her options, before speaking again.
"Luna and Suarez murdered my entire family. I'd make a deal with the devil to stop them." As if it physically pained her to say, she continued. "Your people will have our help getting to Vall Del Mar to apprehend this Gaius Grieves."

"That just shows he cares about ya. I know my mom just LOVES to bring up all the times I almost set the house on fire trying to bake by myself when I was a kid. Just a think those who care about you do." Poppy was sure if her mom was here right now it'd be impossible to stop her from telling all the numerous times she's cause problems. "Lily likes him a lot too, though I think she mistakes him chasing her around for playing tag. I actually baked a pie for him for as thanks for the times he's watched Lily." The opossum knew her daughter could be a handful.
"Sounds like a good plan to me. Might actually get her to go to sleep on time instead of staying up." Poppy was glad Blaze came up with a good plan to keep Lily from going too crazy with the questions as she was actually stumped. "Can't say anyone else will have any mercy when she wants to ask them questions, though I'm sure I can find some way to distract her if I think she's getting out of hand."
"Geez, sounds like I'm only causing ya problems with all this stuff. Wish there was something I could do to help ya." To Poppy it sounded like she's just making everyone on edge with the whole anti-magic thing. It also didn't sound like these priests were very friendly in the sense that it sounds like they're on a bit of a power trip, at least to an extent from what she can guess. "Guess no matter what the world is politics always get complicated." The opossum was never fan of politics, and this was the main reason why. Always someone with an agenda or doesn't have the best interests in mind.
"Though if it helps I can let them do test or whatever. Never really considered it back in my world, for obvious reasons, though I'm sure it's a safer option here." Poppy wasn't one to go to any hospitals if only for the reason people would call bounty hunters, though ain't no bounties on opossum's here. "Not sure how you would test my anti-magic, though hoping it doesn't involve needles." The opossum wasn't the biggest fan of them, though can suck it up.
"Right, guess I gotta consider getting a job and stuff too." Poppy had some limits as anything that involved magic was off the table. "Got any jobs open here? Can't say I got any references to give," the opossum said, chuckling at her joke a bit. "I know we sorta talked bout me seeing if I could be a guard, though might not be a good idea given my heart. Do ya need another cook?" She wasn't sure if she should list stuff now without a straight answer first.
"Though guess I should get a map too. Figure things out depending on how stuff goes here, at least as long as your mom is cool with me staying." Poppy didn't want to be overly optimistic, though from the way Blaze talks about her mom it sounds like she won't have a problem with her staying in this world. "Oh, if everything works out, do you think I'd be possible for someone to get my house from my world? Used to carrying it around with me so it's not tied to the ground or nothing." Made moving much easier at the end of the day.
"Though I guess living here would make family visits harder. Might be something I should bring up with your mom too, just to get it out of the way now. Or is that something you decide?" Poppy couldn't say she was completely sure just where the line of who made decisions on what was.
It wasn't something she was super proud of, the whole burning down the wing of the palace. It had been an accident true, but it still haunted her to this day. Mostly Gardon teasing her about it. But back then she could barely maintain a mortal shape, and her flames often circled her tail. It didn't take but one small graze of a certain and--- well the rest was history. Perhaps it was her fault for trying to climb them to get out the window. But as Poppy said children would be children.
" I suppose So, though doesn't stop Gardon from teasing me about it all the same. To have all this magic power and be so inept with it was a constant frustration for me growing up. But i like to think i've come a long way since then. "
She couldn't hide hr smile when discussing Lilly and her pension for questions. It was natural for a child to be curious and Blaze found it rather endearing.
" Yes Imagine she would ask me all sorts of questions--- Perhaps you should have her write down a set of 5 questions to ask me each night. I shall answer those five for her... it could be a sort of game and educational. "
After all you couldn't fight a childs desire for knowledge and to understand such a strange world. Perhaps the best way to combat it was to taper it and focus it to the more important things on her mind. A trick Gardon use to play on her, and once she was glad to play with Lilly now.
The discussion quickly turned to the priests and her mothers status. Of course Blaze knew that was likely a big difference between the gods of there worlds. Though that didn't mean her mother was weak, or easily destroyed. But that didn't man the Priests were willing to risk it if they believed poppys anti-magic was a threat. It was more precautionary, but she was confident they would contact her by the end of this day if not sooner.
" I doubt you pose any real threat to her... But the priests have never encountered someone who can disable magic such as you. It isn't something that exists here... or at least not on your level... They are just being paranoid. They are the protectors of the Flame of Sol, and it is there sacred duty to see mother is protected. So she may tend to the planets needs... they simply take that duty to heart "
" How do i say this without being to unkind to them--- This is simply there way to remind me of there position within the islands political landscape. They will not delay much longer... last thing they wish is to force me to go over there heads again..."
Clearly there was some tension between Blaze and these Priests
" But we shouldn't dwell on unpleasant thoughts... let me deal with the Politics. You should enjoy your time in the palace while it lasts---and perhaps we should get you a map so you can consider where you wish to live once this is over. "

A/N: I'm not saying I'm incapable of writing an angsty ending for a Fred Weasley story, but I'd rather not do that, so here comes a stupid story that occurred to me this morning, enjoy <3
Rogue-durin-16 masterlist
"Y/l/n!" I sighed. "Is it true?"
"Your mom is into divination?" George question made me throw my head back in desperation as both twins made their way through the Great Hall to meet me.
I knew that day would be a bumpy one the moment we entered in the Divination classroom. The fact that a muggleborn aced a new subject since class one was strange.
I knew I would have to give some explanation to my friends after. Ron was particularly shocked by the fact that my muggle mother had taught me —against my will, may I say— lots of Divination-related things. I knew Ron, being Ron, would surely tell every soul that would listen about his discovery, but I had hoped for him to wait until the third period at least.
"Secrets spread like wildfire here." I said.
"Are you secretly a soothsayer?"
"Yes, Fred. You see, I have the Sight." I ironically stated, and, seeing this as a perfect opportunity to get closer to the boy I fancied, I added "Want me to read your palm?"
They shared an amused look, fully aware that I was joking. Even in the Wizarding World, divination wasn't something to believe in.
There were supposed to be people able to see the future, such as professor Trelawney, but no student had seen her predict a thing, so she wasn't the best example.
George was the first one to sit down. "Predict my future, oh, you who were gifted with the Sight." I snorted as he laid his palm before my eyes.
I picked his hand on mines, "Hmm..." Fred hovering over my form from behind wasn't ideal for me to concentrate. "Okay so..." I felt one of his hands toying with the clasp of my necklace, brushing my nape. "Will you stop touching my necklace and sit down?" I demanded.
"Yeah Fred, sit down." George reprimanded his brother. "She's trying to see my future." I heard Fred chuntering before he plopped down on my other side, leaning on a tad too close for my liking. "Alright, fortuneteller, is there a love line?"
Of course he would ask about that. "Let's see..." I traced said line, unable to remember to the T what my mom had tried to teach me. "So, the heart line is arched... Which means..."
"That you can't tell a thing?" I slapped Fred's arm.
"Which means he's balanced." I corrected him. "You're able to realize when you need to take care of yourself, and when you should let a someone in." George seemed invested. "You'll have just one serious partner, but they'll be the right one."
"Well, that doesn't sound half bad, huh?" He looked at me with a content smile.
"My turn." Fred spoke, smacking his brother's hand away and replacing it with his left one. "The line of life or whatever." He scooted a bit closer and I felt my heartbeat pick up. "What's my fate?"
"Are you left-handed, Fred?" I questioned with an eyebrow raised, already knowing the answer. "I need your dominant hand." Oh well, that came out wrong.
"Straightforward, are we?" George snorted at his brother's remark as he exchanged hands, turning to straddle the bench to be more comfortable. "Alright, what do you see?" He had leaned on to the point where he only needed to tilt his head down a couple of inches to rest it on my shoulder.
"A hand." I deadpanned, which earned a playful push from him. "Okay, okay— I see..." A puzzled frown took over my gaze. "Wait—" I turned to George. "gimme your hand."
"What?" Fred questioned, shifting his position ever so slightly.
"Uhm..." The frown grew bigger, and I had to remind myself what I was doing was a joke. "You... don't have a lifeline?" I dubiously informed. "I mean— it sorta... Starts? but then it fades away." I widened my eyes and froze, remembering what that meant.
I saw Fred tilting his head slightly. "Is it so bad that you won't tell me what it means?" He asked jokingly in order to lighten my distraught mood.
"It— well, it means that you'll die at a young age." My eyes met his and, despite the amused smile that always danced on his lips, fear slipped out of his orbs now, too.
"Wait what?" George propped himself on his forearms to see his brother's palm. "Can't be. Check mine?"
"I just did, you git." George wasn't even smiling. Maybe he did believe it. "Yours is fine."
The three of us stayed in silence for an instant. Even if none of us believed in divination, the fact that Fred had no lifeline was rather unsettling.
"It's fine." I cleared my throat, turning to my bag and leaving Fred's hand over the table on the process. "Apart from seeing the future, I can fix lifelines." They looked at each other when they saw me grab a sharpie. "Don't move." I demanded, holding down Fred's right hand before tracing a black line where the lifeline was supposed to be. "There. A long, healthy life."
When I looked back at the twins' faces, I saw them ready to laugh. Distress had already left them, and that helped my own evaporate.
"Merlin, Y/n!" Fred dramatically exclaimed. "You've just saved my life!"
"She sure did." George agreed, patting my back.
"Now go and tell Ron to shut up." I didn't want to imagine what would happen if people started to believe I could actually predict their future; the twins were sceptic and even they had somehow fallen for it.
I was so focused on George getting up that I didn't even notice Fred's hand flipping and wrapping around mine.
A soft kiss was placed on my cheek and I felt my face heating up even before meeting Fred's proud grin. "Figured I'd give my savior something in repay." His eyes seemed to flicker to my lips for a second; it's just my imagination, I thought, unaware of Fred's thumb caressing the back of my hand until he removed it in order to stand up.
Four Years Later
FRED'S P. O. V.
One second I was laughing at Percy's joke, and the next one everything was black; not only visually, everything was pitch black in every fucking sense.
I heard nothing, I couldn't touch anything, my voice was gone.
My mind was completely blank, until a thought slipped in my brain: 'you'll die at a young age'.
My head was spiralling now. I was dead. That's what death felt like? Nothing?
Y/n's words kept going on and on, frying my brain. How ironic it was that the voice I would have forever in my mind belonged to the girl I had been in love with since I was fourteen, and the words were what we thought to be her silly prediction.
I had no idea how long it had been, but suddenly I felt it; a tear running down my cheek. A flaming hot tear, burning its way off my face. Then I felt something else, some sort of rope wrapping tight around my right hand and wrist, so tight that it made my pulse speed up.
My pulse.
It dawned on me that my heart was beating fast against my chest. It was beating.
I needed to breathe.
"FRED!" Someone forced my eyes open; It was Percy. I couldn't see him right away because the lights were blinding to my eyes, but I recognised his voice. "FRED SAY SOMETHING!"
"Y/n..." I couldn't hear my own voice, but I felt her name going through my vocal cords.
"HE'S ALIVE!" Ron cried. "you're alive-" my sight was blurry but I could pick out my younger brother's crown in front of me as he sobbed over my chest.
"We gotta get him out of here right now!!" Of course it was Hermione who got everyone moving. As both my brothers managed to pick me up, I felt my eyes closing once more. Not even the fear of not waking up again stopped me from passing out.
READER'S P. O. V.
I had volunteered as Healer to help Madam Pomfrey during the Battle, that's why it was me who received two Weasleys practically dragging a third one into the improvised infirmary.
I recognised him from his jacket. "Fred..." At first I thought it was his corpse, that's how bad he looked.
"Y/N!!" It was only when Fred seemed to tilt his head up due to Ron's cry that I reacted, rushing to help them. "Keep him alive!" I only nodded, taking Ron's place as he took off.
With one of his arms over my shoulders and the other over his brother's, we managed to carry him to one of the stretchers; his painful weak groans went directly into my ear as we moved him, triggering the tears I was holding to fall.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
FRED'S P. O. V.
"—alive, somehow." Y/n's voice, though it sounded far away, let me know she was close. "No, don't wake him up."
"Listen, you gotta get him to St. Mungo." It seemed George the one talking, but his voice was too shaky to tell. "in an hour this is gonna get really ugly, I want him out."
"George, we're besieged." Her tone was hopeless.
"Look at him, You said it— It's a bloody miracle he's still breathing." my brother's voice shattered; all I wanted was to get up, hug him and say I was okay, but I felt my brain spinning once more. "Bill and I will escort you out of the castle so..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next time I opened my eyes, terror inundated me; everything was dark again. I gasped for air and propped myself up, instantly regretting it. A stabbing pain attacked every part of my body, triggering a shocked cry out of me.
"What are you doing?!" Y/n whisper-shouted, before placing both her hands over my chest to push me back to the bed again. "Are you mental?" Her fingertips moved out of the way a bandage that covered my eyes. "Oi, listen," when she noticed my shaky hands desperately trying to reach my face, she took them in hers. "You're safe."
I tried to say something —anything—, but my throat was sore, and the only thing that was able to leave it was her name.
"Shhh." She hushed me, letting one of her hands travel to my face. "You have to rest." I would have sworn she was crying, but I couldn't tell. "Everything'll get better." Her thumb stroking my cheek was the most soothing thing I had ever felt, so it wasn't difficult for me to close my eyes, this time willingly, though I was equally scared. "I'll stay by your side." The reassuring squeeze her hand gave me, made me aware that she had noticed my fear.
Before drifting off, I felt Y/n's lips placing a chaste kiss on my forehead, making my heart hammer against my chest.
I was still alive.
A Month Later
READER'S P. O. V.
It was Ron who sent me an owl the moment Fred finally got out of the hospital. He informed me that, instead of going to the Burrow to rest a few days—as planned—, ha had gone straight to the shop.
That's how I found myself the next morning inside Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, which was not-so-surprisingly full of people again.
Due to the huge amount of customers, it was relatively difficult for me to spot the twins.
Apparently, I turned out to be easy to spot.
"Y/n!" I turned in the stairs' direction to be met with a very enthusiastic George who, before I could even greet him, engulfed me in a hug.
"I see you can't catch a break." I observed, pulling away with a big smile on my face. That place really made the trick to bring joy to everyone.
"You can't imagine." He replied, his gaze wandering around before pulling my hand. "Oi, Fred! Look who dropped by!" He shouted over the hubbub, leading me to the till counter, behind which I saw the reason why I had come in the first place.
Just as Fred's eyes noticed me, he attempted to rush out of the till. I left George's side as soon as I realized that he, in fact, couldn't really rush out.
"Merlin's beard!" Despite he had just had to grip the counter in order not to fall, he tried again. "Take it easy, will you?" I scolded him, steadying him by his forearms and helping him step back to rest against the till. "Do you want to go back to the hospital?"
"If you're the one taking care of me, I wouldn't complain." The first time his eyes fell on my lips, I missed it because I was still securing him. The second time it was impossible to miss. "You know? Your sharpie saved my life."
I snorted at his nonsensical words. "You're delirious, Weasley." My hands finally left his forearms, just to be picked up on his. "Still suffering from the concussion?" I joked, trying to deviate my own attention from my fast heartbeat.
Another glance at my lips.
"I should get going." George spoke behind me.
"I was going to visit you tomorrow." Fred stated, his gaze now focused on my eyes.
"Sorry to break it to you, love," I pointed out, motioning at him with our hands still held. "But you can barely walk."
"Yeah, but I needed to see you." He looked somehow sheepish; I doubted I had ever seen him like that before. "I'm gonna be as clear and concise as possible—" He cleared his throat and forced himself to look at me. "I'm pretty much in love with you." I didn't know my eye could go as wide as they went. "Thing's I've known for a good couple of years now." He shrugged. "Telling you scared me, but then this happened." He gestured at himself. "And now not being able to tell you scares me even more." His eyes scanned me before looking around. "This wasn't the ideal place to tell you, but I didn't want to wait any longer."
I gulped, trying to process it as fast as possible.
"For Godric's sake, Y/n," he gently tugged my hand. "Say something, please." Fear started to take over him, even if he tried to keep it at bay. "It's alright if you don't feel the same, we can still be friends, I promise—"
"How do I kiss you without hurting you?" I questioned, already feeling the heat on my cheeks.
I could tell by his face that, out of everything I could have said, he was not expecting the answer I had given him. "Ever the caring one." He let go of my hands to cup my cheeks. "Just kiss me," he sounded so happy, it was contagious. "I'll deal with the pain later."
I listened to him and, holding onto his blazer, stood on my tiptoes and crashed my lips against his— only because I had been wanting to kiss him for too fucking long.
I got lost in the kiss and my brain completely dismissed that an entire wall had collapsed over the boy before me just a month ago; my hands went up to his neck, pulling him closer and, consequently, earning a painful groan from him.
"Shit! sorry." I was quick to let go, suddenly very aware of our surroundings, too.
He just shook his head and pulled my back to him, this time by my hips. "I said I'll deal with it later." He spoke against my lips before going in for a second kiss.
I was more gentle now, careful not to cause him too much pain.
To our dismay, we were interrupted.
"You said love confession!" George snapped us out of it; this time the groan Fred let out was from annoyance. "not snogging session in front of our customers! Get to work!"
He huffed, unwillingly separating from me. "If you stick around until lunch time, we can resume this."
I pretended to think about it. "I guess I can find something to do until then." My smile was as wide as his, and it grew wider when he pulled my into a hug, placing a kiss on the crown of my head. "I love you too, by the way."
His laugh reverberated on his chest. "Good to know."
"Freddie! Now!" This time it was me who groaned at George's demands.
"Help me out, love." Fred requested, pulling away from me so I could help him move behind the till counter. "See you in a couple of hours?" I nodded, pecking his cheeks and walking away from the shop.
It was when I started to walk down the Diagon Alley that it clicked.
His lifeline.
The sharpie.
"OH MY FUCK—"

My Favorite Fruits Basket Quotes Part 8—EVERYONE ELSE
You'll even see one from Kagura in here, which if you know me, you know that's weird af.
"It's strange...but as you get older, things that you couldn't comprehend in childhood become clear. 'I should have done that at the time.' 'I should have said such and such.' In that way, you start to understand. It may be closer to penitence than regret. Perhaps I wish to repent and erase my ignorant childhood self." (Ayame, ch. 21)
"I need to try to work it out. Otherwise, it'll only get worse for me... even if it's still more than I can bear, I have to give it my best shot." (Kisa, ch. 28)
"You shouldn't think you can get away with anything just because you 'love' someone. Because if that is what you think, I suggest you do some soul-searching. Directing an ever-increasing amount of one-sided love at someone becomes burdensome to that person, and at some point, you'll hurt them. Remember that." (Megumi, ch. 29)
"When someone is important to you, there can be times when it's a little rough and even lonely. But...in the end, they make you happy." (Saki, ch. 29)
"My course of action depends on me." (Hiro, ch. 38)
"This world is bursting with people. There's no way that there's not a single person out there who will care about you." (Megumi, ch. 51)
"You avoid shedding your own blood, and yet lament that you want peace." (Kazuma, ch. 52)
"Even if you don't have hope right now, I promise it will come to you again. Again and again, hope will always bloom." (Kazuma, ch. 63)
"Having feelings for someone isn't based on logic. Even if you have things figured out in your head, once you realize you love someone, that love is all you can think about." (Kagura, ch. 69)
"There's no greater happiness in this world than living with the one you love." (Tohru's grandpa, ch. 92)
"Sorrow connects us like a spiral and keeps us from moving." (Kureno, ch. 98)
"Don't ever think you're useless, got that?" (Arisa, ch. 99)
"More than anyone, you are always on my mind. That's the unshakable truth." (Shigure, ch. 101)
"In times when you can walk under your own power, go ahead. But when you can't, let me carry you. I like carrying you. You've never been heavy. You're not a burden at all." (Haru, ch. 106)
"Children always understand much more than adults give them credit for. At the very least, they can tell if the intent was kind or hateful." (Tohru's grandpa, ch. 109)
"As I lived my life...had I overlooked many very, very precious things?" (Ayame, ch. 110)
"Time marches on. It's already begun that hike. People...and feelings move on, too." (Shigure, ch. 111)
"In order to gain something or learn something, maybe you have to sacrifice or hurt something...no matter how depressing that may be." (Kakeru, ch. 113)
"To learn something, you have to hurt something. If that's the way it's gotta be for a while yet, then at least...I want to be kind. I want to make amends. I want to repay them for all the times they've smiled for me." (Kakeru, ch. 113)
"Maybe...I'm closer now than I was before. I did stomp on a few things, though. In order to reach this point...it took me forever to understand. And so I've finally made it this far. Well, I still have a long ways to go." (Kakeru, ch. 113)
"Saying 'goodbye' can be a very lonely thing." (Hiro's mom, ch. 118)
"It'll be okay right now. I can wait. But I'm not going to be a 'footnote' any longer." (Arisa, ch. 127)

High School Reunion 2
Summary: Someone at the reunion has a big mouth.
Characters: Jensen x Reader, Jared
Warnings: Fluff
Word Count: 2,087
A/N: Inspiration struck out of nowhere and this piece was born. I have a very rough outline for a small series, maybe about 6 parts? We'll see. It's gonna happen randomly, no planned schedule for this one.
PART 1
Y/N bit her lip in excitement and saw a message from Lana. She immediately opened Skype to call her best friend…and thank her.
"Hey you! How was the reunion?" Lana smiled as her face appeared on screen.
"Oh my fucking God I can't believe you!" Y/N screamed, though it was mostly excitement as she blushed profusely.
"So…I take it you had a good night then?" Lana grinned cheekily.
"How could you not tell me you met Jensen Freaking Ackles?! I thought we were friends?" Y/N pouted dramatically as she plopped back on her couch, phone still in hand.
"Do you have any idea how hard it was to keep it from you?" Lana screeched in response, "You remember my last night at the convention, I went to that place for dinner that had the amazing burger?"
"Yeah, I remember. You said you loved the place, that it was a perfect ending to the trip," Y/N remembered, "Now I get why."
"Ok, yeah, so I'm sat at the bar with my burger and a beer and he comes in and sits with a chair between us. I instantly recognized him, but was trying to keep my cool, you know. But he remember me! From the photo op! So we just got to talking and you had just split with Chase and I was so worried about you-"
"Oh Lana, you didn't," Y/N groaned.
"I was just venting about how much I hated that douchebag and what he did to you and what you were going through and how I was so worried about the reunion but thought it could be a good thing for you after Chase-" she rambled on, her words quickly tumbling forth as she pleaded her case to her best friend.
"You're not mad, right?" Lana asked timidly.
"How can I be?" Y/N shouted, "He walked in there all suave and shut down my high school bullies - who were trying to start some shit let me tell you-"
"No!" Lana gasped, "Amanda?"
"And the others," Y/N sighed, "And they were trying to cut in on me and I was gonna run, I'm not gonna lie," Y/N chuckled lightly, "But then he was just there. And she introduced himself as my boyfriend….Oh my god, Lana! What if that gets out?" Y/N sat bolt upright on her couch in a panic.
"Whoa, Y/N, calm down," Lana insisted, "More important than that…he introduced himself as your boyfriend?!"
"Lana!"
"I'm just sayin'-"
Y/N sighed dreamily, "Then we danced. Then he took me for a drive and we parked up at the spot and ate burgers while chatting and watching stars," she sighed again, as if it were a scene from a romantic film she had just watched.
"That sounds like a date," Lana helpfully noted.
"I thought that too!" Y/N squealed, "But that's just the fangirl right? I mean, there's no way."
"How many times I gotta tell you you're a catch, woman?" Lana laughed, "I'm not surprised at all. In fact, I'm taking credit. You're welcome," Y/N groaned once more and Lana chuckled.
"Did I mention we exchanged numbers?" Y/N added with a grin.
"And now I hate you," Lana huffed.
"Yeah, love you too you meddler."
Y/N sighed happily to herself once more as they ended the call. She tossed her phone on the coffee table as she relaxed back into the couch. Her eyes fluttered closed as she replayed the evenings events in her mind.
She had to be dreaming. There was no way this was real, right?
Too tired and content to carry herself off to the bedroom, Y/N laid down on the couch, settling into the plush cushions and dragging the throw from the back of the couch to cover herself, falling asleep quickly and dreaming of shimmering green eyes.
Jensen groaned as he slowly came awake to the incessant ringing and chimes of his phone. He opened his eyes, grabbing for the phone and peeking at the time.
6am.
He and Y/N were out past midnight. After he made it back to the hotel, he had spent the better part of an hour sipping on a beer as he thought over the night he had with her.
He wasn't sure what compelled him to talk to Lana in the bar that night. He could tell she was a nervous fan, and he remembered her from the photo op, just as nervous and shy. But after a beer or two with her dinner, she relaxed and their conversation flowed. It was nice, to be chatting away with someone new, different.
When she went on about her best friend Y/N, Jensen felt something. Apparently the way if affected her friend was severe enough to have Lana in real turmoil over it. Jensen knew what that was like. He'd worried over Jared a time or two just the same.
When Lana gave him a picture, however, his heart skipped a beat. She was beautiful, with a charming smile. But he could see her eyes were sad and guarded.
When he realized the reunion was a few hours drive and a few days ahead of his schedule to be at another convention, he decided to make the stop to see Y/N at the reunion. At the very least he could chalk it up to a memorable fan moment.
Jensen rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he reluctantly sat against the headboard, checking to see why his phone was blowing up.
It took only a quick glance through the various calls and text and emails from various persons all talking about the same thing. Jensen opened the text thread from Jared, scrolling through the messages and clicking on a picture that was include.
It was him and Y/N dancing together at the reunion the night before. She looked as amazing as he remembered. Her smile was bright and genuine, but so was his. Apparently word had spread from the reunion that he and Y/N were together. That's when he remembered introducing himself to those girls as Y/N's boyfriend.
He wasn't so bothered by the turn of events, which surprised him. He had decided the night before that he wanted to ask her out on a date. Their chemistry was too intense to not pursue.
What bothered him was how she'd react. They'd literally just met and had a friendly, albeit great, evening and now she was possibly going to be bombarded with paparazzi and everyone in her business.
So much for that date.
He knew it was early, but he wanted Y/N to hear from him first. He opened the new message thread between them, seeing her text from the night before and smiling once more, before typing out his message.
Hey, Y/N. Hope you slept well. Was hoping to talk to you about something.
He sent the message, noting the time, and figured he'd give it some time. He didn't know her schedule, or anything about her really. With a groan, Jensen hit the green button to return one of Jared's missed calls.
"Dude!" Jared exclaimed as he answered after one ring, "I've been trying to get ahold of you for two hours!"
"Yes, Mom, I'm aware," Jensen said with a yawn.
"Did you see the picture?"
"Yeah."
"And?" Jared pressed for more, "Why aren't you freaking out about this?" Jared scoffed. Since his last major relationship ended, Jensen hadn't been with anyone really. An occasional date here and there for an event. But he hadn't seemed interested in anyone at all, and was quick to shut down any insuinuations to the contrary.
"I guess I should of seen it coming," Jensen shrugged, "I did introduce myself as her boyfriend after all."
"You what?" Jared was shocked, trying to wrap his head around it, "Why would you do that? Is there something you aren't telling me? Have you been dating her for a while? Who is she anyway?"
Jared fired off the questions in rapid succession like an excited puppy.
"I gotta talk to her first," Jensen said, "I'll see you at the convention in a couple days. You can interrogate me then."
"I want all the details."
"Don't you always?"
Jensen ended the call, taking a deep breath. He felt so stupid for what he did. He wasn't sure why he did that other than to shut those girls down. He really hated bullies.
He decided to get dressed and grab a couple of coffees on his way to Y/N's house. A quick look at his social media had told him that picture was blowing up. She was bound to find out sooner rather than later. He had to tell her first.
Y/N slowly roused from her deep sleep on the comfy couch, hearing an incessant rapping coming from her front door. She stretched, reaching for her phone on the coffee table and finding it dead.
She rolled her eyes as she threw off the throw, climbing from the couch and shuffling to the door and she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.
She flung open the door, the morning's cresting light just bright enough to assault her eyes. It took her a second to focus, but then she saw Jensen, a small smile on his face and two tall coffees in hand.
"Jensen?" she asked, so very confused and wondering if she was still asleep.
"Hey, uh, I know it's early. But I really needed to see you this morning."
The smile he gave was sweet, but she could tell something was up. Was he worried that maybe she'd go blabbing about their night together? She'd never do that. But she guessed he didn't know that.
"Sure, come in," she smiled warmly, stepping aside and gesturing him into her home. She accepted the coffee as Jensen passed it to her on his way in. She shut the door behind him, taking a whiff of her drink before taking a long gulp, closing her eyes and sighing at the flavor.
"So, what's up?" she asked, shuffling on her feet, "Thanks for the coffee, by the way."
"You're welcome," he smiled, now genuine and inviting and Y/N's heart stuttered slightly at the sight, "I was hoping to talk to you, about last night."
She shook her head, "I won't talk about it with anyone, I promise. Well, other then Lana. I had to call her last night. Yell at her a little," she blushed.
He laughed, nodding his head, "No, I get it. But I wasn't worried about that or anything," he was quick to correct, "Actually, someone else already did."
"Did what?"
"Someone got a picture of us on the dance floor last night and might have said I mentioned I was your boyfriend," he said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Oh," she responded, clearly shocked and not sure what to say.
"I just wanted you to hear it from me first, you know? Before seeing it online or whatever."
"Online-" she echoed, her eyes going wide, "So, you can just post a Tweet or something that it's a mistake."
"Okay, well, to be fair, I did introduce myself as your boyfriend to those other women last night."
"Yeah…why'd you do that again?" Y/N smirked despite herself.
He shrugged, "Seemed like the right thing to do. Shut 'em up didn't it?" he grinned, "Besides," he chanced, stepping closer to her," Feels like we had a date last night."
She blushed hard, ducking her head before meeting his eyes once again, "Yeah, it did."
"And I was hoping you'd like to do it again."
"Really?" she asked. She couldn't help the dreamy look in her eye. She still couldn't believe this was happening.
"Yeah. So if you say yes, then we'd be dating, which is practically boyfriend and girlfriend," he explained casually, "So I think we should just keep doing what we're doing and let it ride. What do you think?"
"I think you might be a little bit crazy," she nervously laughed, "Let's start with a second date," she grinned, seeing him brighten up, "And go from there."
"And the press?" Jensen chanced.
"Let them think what they wanna think," she shrugged.
"You're freakin' perfect," he chuckled, tucking a stray hair behind her ear, even though she still had bedhead. He smiled at the cuteness of it.
"I should go freshen up!" she realized, seeing him look over her disheveled state, "Uh…be right back." she rushed off down the hall and Jensen laughed to himself.
He had a good feeling about this.

Copycat: Cryptomnesia —(Marvel Fem!Oc)
A/N: The gif is meant to express Cat’s vibe for this chapter lmao -Danny
Words: 1,572
Phase Five Masterlist
Previous Chapter // Next Chapter
xxiv: Junior & Stray
The rest of the month went by swiftly, Cat was on her best behavior, and Kate stayed until she had to go back to college. The mutant drove Kate to school, now that the girl didn't have money, it was important she began to live a more responsible life.
Cat opened the trunk and handed Kate her bags, she looked at the students coming in, and then at Kate, focused on hanging each bag on her shoulders without dropping them.
"You sure you wanna stay?"
"It's my last year, I can't drop out," Kate looked at her. "I'll be fine."
"How are you gonna pay for it?" Cat frowned. "Your mom's accounts are frozen, and you've got no—"
"Jack's helping me out, he feels guilty, for some reason," Kate grimaced. "I feel a little weird accepting his help, but it was either that or going into debt, so..."
"At least you got a job," Cat sighed. "Thank you, Starbucks."
"Which reminds me," Kate fixed her posture, carrying two massive bags on her shoulders. "What are you gonna do? I know you're running out of money."
She smiled. "Don't worry."
"Nothing illegal, okay?"
"Only if it sounds fun," when she noticed the girl's expression, she added. "I won't work for the mob. But I'm not following rules either, so..."
"Just tell me," Kate pleaded.
She dismissed it. "I'll tell you if I have to, I gotta talk to someone else first."
Kate wanted to trust her, but she wasn't there yet. They were still learning about each other, and even if Kate wanted to believe her, she didn't know her enough to be certain she wasn't lying, it was hard to tell.
"Just be careful, okay? I can't teleport if you get in trouble."
"I have one favor to ask you," Cat leaned forward. "Remember what we agreed on?"
Kate hesitated, then nodded.
"I don't think I'll be in danger anytime soon, but I need to know that you won't break your promise."
"Cat..."
"You said you knew the risks," she insisted. "We're good as a team, but if being one puts you in a bad spot, I need to know you'll step back. You wanna help, but you won't be of much help if they kill you first, right?"
"Who are 'they' ?"
"I'll tell you later! Just promise that if I die you'll keep my mission going."
A gloomy expression fell upon Kate's dainty features. "I promise."
Cat hugged her. "Have fun. But not too much, you can't afford to destroy a second tower."
Kate chuckled. "I'll keep it in mind."
"And don't party too hard— if a teacher's giving shit let me know—"
"I won't," Kate moved out of the embrace and started to leave. "Call me once you get home!"
"I'll call you every night right after you've fallen asleep!" She joked.
Harley was transported back to last year's summer the moment he stepped inside Cat's living room.
"Jesus Christ," he ran a hand through his hair. "What the hell happened here?"
The mutant crawled over the papers sprawled on her living room floor and stumbled to where he was standing, she grabbed his wrist and guided him to the mess, her pupils were round and dark, barely leaving space for the purple.
"Hear me out—"
He whined. "I came here to tell you my good news—"
"You got hired," she grabbed some of the papers from the floor, when she bent down Harley noticed there was a piece of tape stuck in her silver hair.
Harley frowned. "I told Happy I wanted to tell you in person!"
"Happy didn't tell me, I figured it out," she looked at him. "You're wearing a suit and you smell like a taxpayer."
The young man frowned. "I don't know what that means."
"You're getting paid, that's what it means," she lifted the papers. "I have a job for you."
"I don't like where this is going..." he groaned.
"Listen," she walked up to the table and spread the sheets of paper on its surface. "You were right— You were right, I'm a mercenary. I was. I mean for the right price I still am—"
"Get to the point before I run out of here," Harley approached reluctantly and pulled a chair to sit down. Felix jumped out with a hiss.
"My old boss?" She pushed Valentina De Fontaine's file toward him. "You won't guess where she used to work. Sharon Carter tried to scare me by threatening to reveal my identity but I can trace people too! Valentina was part of Hydra!"
"I don't know who this is," Harley frowned staring at the picture.
"Keep up, I just said she was my boss," she sat next to him. "How did she get away, you ask? She gave S.H.I.E.L.D. the location where we found Pietro and Wanda Maximoff! Now she's just a regular UN worker? The whole thing is dirty."
He stared at her. "I think it's you. When was the last time you showered?"
"Yesterday morning. I think. Anyway, she's cooperating with the mafia, she made me do a job for them last summer, and that's why I broke up with Matt. I almost broke my arm and his nose to get away but that's not the point— You know who's their boss? Wilson Fisk!"
"Fuck off!" He exclaimed that name he knew.
"Yes. Yeah, I know. Last December we got him arrested but something tells me it won't be permanent. Everything's dirty, Harley, everything. Fisk spoke to me when I fought him, Agent Zero might've escaped but Copycat is the target of an international manhunt."
He started to look through the papers. "Does that mean..?"
"They know who I am, used to be, and who I can be. Sharon Carter knows, at least, and she's using my name to scare some people. I think the only way to buy more time and find out who else knows about me is to get her out of the way. I can prove she's not playing by the rules and I can try and make her give names."
"I don't understand why I'm here."
She gulped, now more than ever she needed to sound convincing and confident.
"The articles are calling you the next Tony Stark, you'll need protection."
Harley frowned. "Stark Industries is dirty?"
"I'm saying the same men that are trying to get to me will try to get you, they'll see you as someone easy to break. We can't let them get a hold on Stark industries."
"How are you gonna stop that?" He inquired. "Pepper is the CEO, she has the last word of everything that happens there, why not warn her about this? Why using me?"
"It's easier to take down something with a weak foundation," she replied with certainty. "You're their target, Junior. Young men are easy to taint. But... Tony used Iron Man as a super bodyguard at first, remember? It's obvious Junior will have one too."
"Copycat," he said.
"Back and ready for action," she winked. "Imagine their shock when they realize the pot of gold has been claimed! All you have to do is convince Pepper to hire me as your guard."
"What are you expecting to get this way?"
"Harley, c'mon, you're smart," she said in annoyance. "I'll take Mouse with me, I'll read every man's file that's in the company and plug them out before they sneak into places where they don't belong."
"You realize they'll catch up on this, these imaginary tainted men," he raised a brow. "All the roads will lead to you."
"What's the use of having powers, knowledge, and connections if I'm not using them to do what I want?" She scoffed. "We brought everyone back, Harley, is my duty to make sure others don't ruin it."
"Is it?"
"This is the first time in years I've been called to do something," she pouted, "please, I'm trying to be good..."
Harley struggled to grasp the concept Cat was trying to sell, it was messy, and she was lousy, but the one time they'd teamed up it had gone well, and they'd been eighteen at the time. They were older and experienced, the idea wasn't far-fetched.
"You gotta promise me we won't risk Pepper nor Morgan's life with this. Happy stays out too."
"You have my word."
"And you won't kill unless is the last, last, all-the-way-to-the-bottom plan of escape."
"Sure."
Harley scowled at her. "What made you change your mind? I sure as hell wasn't."
"Change my mind?" Cat raised a brow. "I've never liked to be used, Harley, you know that. Valentina and Sharon tried to take advantage of me, and Fisk and Russo want me as their pet. I just wanna see what I'm capable of when I don't shoot myself in the foot. Gotta be just as grand as my fuck-ups, don't ya think?"
He snorted. "That's a way to put it."
"You wanted me to look at the bright side more often."
"Yeah, I'm glad you're back in your clown costume," he smirked. "Suits you far better than the sulky mercenary."
"I think I look great in both, to be honest," she looked at the mess in her apartment. "Well, let's get started... We should give it a name. Last time it was 'Plan M'— what now? Operation 'Clean Slate' ?"
Harley leaned on his chair, supporting one arm on the back of it. "The Weeding project?"
Cat cringed. "Why not just straight up the 'let's take the hydra out of the workplace'?"
"We'll figure it out," he stood and pushed the chair back in. "You should call Kurt, he'll hate you if you leave him out of this."
Cat stopped him, squeezing his hand. "Thank you. I promise you won't regret this."
"Oh, I'll regret it," he sighed, "but I'll settle with getting us a pardon from the President in the future."

OMORI Guardian Angel Dreams - The Dark of Many Names
An OMORI Crossover AU Fic
Chapter 2 - Writing Class Would be Boring
The shadow of a large building cloaks two figures gazing upon it.
"So this is school?" said the paler of the two.
">Yes," said the messier haired of the pair.
"...You wanna bail?"
"You'll have to carry me, I can't walk on my own."
Just as Sunny was gonna make a move, any plans of escape broke when a black-pink haired girl tugged on the back of his vest, pulling him closer to the entrance, all the while Kris jerkingly walked in the same direction.
"Yeah ya ain't getting away that easily," spoke Aubrey as she dragged Sunny up the stairs.
"Cheer up Suns!" Madotsuki assured Sunny, tailing behind, "This is one of the good schools, right Kris?"
">I love and appreciate you," Kris responded through their teeth, wearing the expression one would make when woken up with a penny's worth of energy.
"*I tell my friends farewell for now," Frisk waved to them, turning at the steps to another entrance of the school.
Inside the large building, the hallway was filled with monsters of many shapes and sizes. Sprinkled throughout were the few human kids that could be found in the town.
As the group reached a crosspath, Kris did a sharp turn away from the other three and marched to their classroom.
"Oh, uh, bye," Sunny said quietly as he and the rest walked further foward, eventually stopping at the door of his and Aubrey's class. Madotsuki made her own farewell as she made her way to the door further left.
"You feeling okay for this, Sunny?" Aubrey asked her old friend.
Sunny responded with a quick nod. After a pause, Sunny reached out and opened the door.

"And that's I'm still considered 12 despite being 106," Chara ended their story as they tuned their guitar.
"I guess I'm glad I was awake for my 4 years, otherwise it might've been awkward for me and Hero to get together again!" Mari almost cheekily responded, stretching her semi-existent fingers with piano keys below them.
"Mari sweetie, can you come here for a second?" Mari's mother spoke from across the kitchen.
"Coming Mom!" affirmed Mari as she floated through the portable keyboard and into the kitchen.
"I'm gonna be away for tonight," Ms. Suzuki explained to her daughter, "I have to check in on the state of your piano."
Mari's eyes widened in excitement, "Oh yay! Can I come with? I wanted to see it again so bad and I finally can actually play it even thought I had a dream version of it-"
"Okay okay," Ms. Suzuki chuckled, "but what about Sunny? He might have some first day project or something."
"He could stay in Mado and Aubrey's dorm for tonight," suggested Mari.
"Oh dear," said Ms. Suzuki snarkingly, "leaving Sunny for even a second? That's unlike you dear!"
"What can I say," Mari bashfully responded "I think he's ready to take care of himself now."
- - -
"Aubrey how do you do group projects again I'm scared."
"Quit worrying Sunny," Aubrey assurred her friend. "Look, we just gotta do whatever it says on this paper... thing," she refers to the assignment brief in her hand. "Let's just go home and we'll figure it then."
"I need to go the the bathroom." Sunny shyly admitted.
"Fine, make it quick."
Sunny rushed out the classroom door and into the hall, figuring out the way to the bathrooms with the signs on the ceiling. As he turns and jogged to his destination, he could hear a distant conversation at the end of the hall.
"Kris, if you could bring her by later... that would mean a lot to me...!" A soft voice whispered.
"Wonder what's that about..." Sunny thought.
