Hi sorry for the ask, but I was wondering how you made the Hannibal script book? It looks incredibly cool and i'm in LOVE with the cover you chose
I went to living dead guy’s website and downloaded all the PDFs for the episode scripts, then I just used adobe’s website to combine all the scripts per season and saved those PDF files. I used photoshop to design the cover and then I used Lulu to make and order it 🖤

3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
Very broad question! I think in terms of what inspires me and how the shape of a fic comes into being... I usually have a few visual scenes, moments, or affects, that loom large in my mind. Writing a fic is a matter of yoking together those different scenes, moments, affects, etc. in a way that makes thematic sense. A lot of fics are to some degree inspired by one-on-one chats with friends, and knowing at least one other person will be interested in reading it really helps a lot with the process - I think of this as the "I care for other none" approach.
When it comes to actually writing, I usually put on an album in the background and task myself to write for that amount of time - it has a clear end time attached and thus minimizes pressure on myself.
13. what’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?
I am seriously blanking on common writing tips that I actually like. I suppose one that I try to follow, though I often have to consciously hold it in my mind, is that not every sentence needs to be groundbreaking prose. It's necessary to have some scaffolding to get the characters from point A to point B! The loving and detailed description goes to the stuff that's actually important.
17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)
Honestly, nothing benefits me more than just taking a break. If a draft is giving me problems, distance and time often makes it seem more surmountable and less scary, and lets me come back to it with a fresh mind and regained enthusiasm for the project. Sometimes writing something else that feels more urgent, rather than trying to force myself to work on "the" primary WIP, can help the primary WIP feel more doable. For example, I wrote the Will/Jack fic in... iirc a little over a week? while my current Lassification of Will Graham fic (not the actual title) was pending. Now, I've returned to the latter and actually feel like I can see the end in sight.
Also, a nice thing about being a fic and meta person is that when one form of writing feels out of reach, I usually turn towards the other. The reason I started writing fic at all (back in 2020) was because I was tired of rehearsing for others' attention via writing meta, and wanted to just retreat into my own world/interpretation of canon in a medium no one could criticize (at least directly to me). But sometimes when writing fic feels elusive, I turn to meta, because it's a more colloquial writing style that doesn't have to be as "conclusive" or self-contained.

Asking abt the little red book !
Okay, so in 2012, Facebook had a big influx of employees, both because of the IPO and also the acquisition of Instagram. Previously, Facebook had had a pretty small workforce (it took them six years (until 2010) to get to 2,000 employees), but by 2012 they had more than 4,000 full-time employees. This created a huge change in the company's culture. Previously, they had prided themselves on the insular atmosphere that's common in tech start-ups: a lot of the employees lived within a mile of the office and for a while, they lived in company houses together, like a fraternity. But this couldn't hold forever, and the company was expanding.
In 2012, Facebook distributed a pamphlet to their employees, bearing a red cover with the words "Facebook was not originally created to be a company." This serves as the thematic statement of the rest of the book, a collection of sayings and stories, some from Zuck himself, most from the artist hired to create the book, Ben Barry.
Some of you may think that the phrase "little red book" sounds familiar, and to you I say, yes, you are correct. The "Little Red Book" is a euphemism for a book, a piece of propaganda, distributed by the Chinese government, Quotations from Chairman Mao, and carried around by party members.
Remind you of anything?
In the early years of Facebook, Zuck tended to end all-hands meetings with calls for "revolution" or "domination". At one point, a raised and closed fist was painted on the wall of the Facebook offices. And in order to induct a new class of employees into their culture, Facebook was going back to their roots of invoking symbols of social equality and revolt, all while getting closer and closer to becoming one of the largest and most influential tech companies out there.
The thing that's interesting to me about this book is the amount of contradiction in it between what Facebook's so-called mission was in 2012 and what we, eleven years later, can see became of it. (Spoilers: it didn't last long.)
Below are some pages from the book, because I really don't think I can do a better job communicating this conflict than the book itself does.

nine (9) people you'd like to know better
Thank you to @revolvingresidency for the tag. :)
Last song:
Of All The Gin Joints In All The World (Fall Out Boy), which is uh....on my Clex writing playlist right now.
Currently watching:
I'm not watching anything LOL...almost never am...hmm. I've watched a couple of Smallville episodes lately for research and vibes, but the last thing I was properly watching was The Great and season two of Bridgerton (and I can now authoritatively say that Queen Charlotte (which I watched first of all) remains my favourite season).
Currently reading:
I have Brian's Winter (Gary Paulsen) sitting beside my bed. It's a kids book from the Hatchet series, which I LOVE and enjoy rereading. However, I find it very hard to pick up books these last couple of years. I feel a lot of guilt about reading (because my brain just tells me I should be writing instead).
Current obsession:
Writing Clex.....and constantly worrying about life admin (property and money crap)!
no pressure tags: @dryscully @hxans @tsnbrainrot @berseaux @nununoodles @novatoure @noneedbebest @angryzilla @maharlika and anyone else who wants to!

3, 17, 23, 29!
Thanks for the ask @novatoure! Sorry if this reply feels a bit late. My day became suddenly busy after I reblogged the ask game post. XD Typical.
3: Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
Yeah, so this is going to be borderline incomprehensible, or at least not like any practical guide or anything.
>Have an idea
>Decide circumstances under which the story can happen/start
>Write that
>Whatever happens next, happens
That's what I do. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, or isn't what you wanted. I don't really get it either.
17: What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writer's block)
Easy answer to this one. I stop for a while. I don't stop writing altogether, but I give myself a break from whatever idea I'm struggling with. I work on something else until I'm inspired for whatever should happen next. I have over 100 WIPs right now, and I rotate through them all the time, writing a bit on one, and. moving on to another when I hit a block or obstacle. This might not work for everyone, and I know I have been neglecting some of the stories I'm supposed to be posting, but it's what I do.
23: Best writing advice for other writers.
Find out what works for you and do it. For myself, what works is just writing what I enjoy writing. It doesn't have to be something I would necessarily enjoy reading, though more often than not it is, but if I enjoy writing it then I don't consider it a failure or a waste, regardless of how it's received. There are certain kinds of scenes or fics that I don't enjoy writing, but I enjoy reading, and I just don't write those. I leave them for the people who do. Ask anyone who knows me, and they can tell you I really, really enjoy writing. I talk about it all the time when I'm working on something, because I'm just ecstatic about it.
So find that sweet spot for yourself and stay there. You don't have to be adventurous if you don't want to.
29: What's your revision or editing process like?
... okay. I feel like people are either going to be frustrated with my answer or not believe me. But I don't really edit anything... ever. I mean, I'll read through and check spelling and grammar, but I usually post my first draft of a story/chapter. I almost never go back more than one chapter to change anything important. I stick with what I wrote, and just edit the semantics. My first drafts are usually pretty clean, and spelling is the only thing I have to worry about because I type so fast I miss some typos every now and then.
Thank you again for sending this ask. These are a lot of fun to answer.

Okay since u asked for it I might as well spam u about ur fics I’ve read and hopefully not annoy u but I just have to say I really love the dialogue in harvard confrontation. It’s rhythmic and kind of Sorkin like and I was wondering how you write your dialogue. Do you ever say the lines aloud or do you write them and just go with it? Feel free to discuss anything abt dialogue
luo. yes. you can always always send me asks re, well, anything, but especially tsn (fic) related.
anyway aah thank you!! I really really enjoyed writing that fic; it was my first dive into their characters and made me realize just how much I love writing mark. and sorkin-like? biggest compliment, thank you, especially cause that's what I was going for so I'm glad I emulated that style at least somewhat. I feel like Mark and Eduardo's personalities and history lend themselves to the style of dialogue I like most, sort of talking around issues, letting absence and silence be as loud as the actual speech, which is (part of the reason) why I keep coming back to them.
As for how I write dialogue, yes, I always read it out loud. I generally try to read the dialogue out loud to someone before I post it, so I can see their reaction to it, to awkward hang-ups if there are any. I sort of am coming at dialogue from a playwriting perspective. I've never written one before, but I think that's sort of my ultimate goal, to write a play, even if it's never performed anywhere. I spent a lot of high school reading play scripts, and I think the rhythm of that style sunk in.
Thanks for the ask! <3

#op this is the best marlana meta ive ever read just a btw#like actually this is exactly how i see them and so much more youve opened my eyes#marlana#hannibal#ive actually been struggling writing them recently for a fic#and you've helped so fucking much this is exatcly it (via @novatoure)
Thank you! This is such a lovely compliment.
Further thoughts on Margot/Alana -
I was listening to Bryan and Hugh’s commentary on “Mizumono,” and on the scene with Hannibal and Bella they talk about the concept of forgiveness as something that happens to you, that you have no control over, as opposed to something you decide to do, and Hugh says “Commitment is similar” -
and I think the idea of commitment of something that happens to you, almost against your will or active choice, is pretty much how I see Margot/Alana making the transition from murder fling to something longterm.
Like, hmm, the parallels with Hannigram are emphasized visually, with the blurring and merging of selfhood within each couple, but less so narratively - so in my headcanon/interpretation, I like forgiveness/commitment as a complement to that, the idea that that both couples feature people who are inextricably bound to each other, and will be even if they should ever part ways. Hannigram can’t help but forgive each other, and that’s tantamount to commitment for them; Alana and Margot can’t help but cling to each other, after what they went through, and find themselves just being compelled to choose each other and centre each other, over and over. Each bond solidified by committing a murder together.
The thing about Alana and Margot’s dynamic, for me, is that neither of them is “naturally” inclined to commitment. Margot is fairly avoidant, not great at trusting or opening up to people because of trauma. And while this time it’s based in actual desire, I do imagine her first seducing Alana wasn’t that far off from how she seduced Will - very calculated, playing up her own vulnerability, and using sex to turn a situation in her favour. Alana is decidedly not great at commitment, and trying to possibly make something work in the longterm with Hannibal turned out disastrously, and was premised on her seriously misreading him. One big motivation in the hookup with Margot, imo, was just release - throw caution to the wind for a moment and purge Hannibal from her system. The affair started out with the subtext of a quid pro quo, but the plan evolved as they went along and circumstances changed. Neither was expecting the relationship to last - once they decided on the surrogacy thing, both were planning on some sort of non-traditional co-parenting arrangement when the baby was born. And yet they continued to be just magnetically compelled to stay together, and found the other becoming powerfully important to them.
Idk, I like the idea of the Margot/Alana being formed by two people who aren’t great at commitment, who just slide into this dynamic unexpectedly because who they are when they’re together and the uniqueness of what they’ve shared compels them to - this unexpected longterm partnership featuring someone who used to meticulously plan and anticipate everything in her interpersonal relationships, and someone who never really had grounds to fathom this sort of relationship. Kind of a messy and compulsive devotion - with a touch of the codependence and magnetism that defines the show’s main relationship.
(I also have this headcanon that they have a sort of technically open relationship that dates back to a mostly-unspoken agreement from when they started up that they never bothered to renegotiate, but things get sort of weird when the prospect of either actually taking advantage of that arrangement comes up.)

Find The Word Tag!
Better late than never, amiright @minutiaewriter
My Words Are: snow, red, new, chill, heat
Not sure if you did it on purpose, but these words could be a pitch for the Wolfena themselves. So naturally, these sentences will be from The Wolfena!
I'm going to tag these folks, if you don't want to/can't do it please don't worry about it, I usually just tag people who I notice lurking in my activity:
@novatoure @typoforarosy-star and @lesbiandirtycomputer
Your Words Are: paper, glass, return, see, sun
Snow
Most were young, like Lariette, but came in all shapes, colors, and histories. Some had hair and skin as white as the permanent blanket of snow that had once covered Carema.
Red
Feel it, said the grating, cruel voice that lived in Naxia’s mind. Feel all that life, that blood, flowing inside. Make it outside. Make it red.
New
Lariette’s touch sent strands of warmth through her, something new and so different from the sensations of cold and hurt Naxia was used to.
Chill (this sentence actually encapsulates such an important and meaningful moment in this narrative)(I could not find Chill so I went with Chilly)
She gripped the blankets and realized that someone had draped a heavier, warmer, woven blanket over her during the night. She couldn’t remember ever waking so warm. The palace in Ilaquoi was always chilly, even after the Cold Night ended.
Heat
The heat of her fire surrounded her, licking her skin without burning because it belonged to her, was part of her, and could not hurt her. Men screamed as they caught flame, running and rolling in desperation to put themselves out. Naxia reveled in the sound of their dying.
