#Repost @jackiefawn ・・・ Ah this piece has helped me so much in helping me decolonize my diet for many reasons. This woman drags her feet through what once was soil but now animal waste and runoff. She navigates her way trhough and endless gmo corn field with cow, pig, and chicken, animals that are sacred in other cultures. How did we get here....? The way we "feed" the nation is abusive and toxic. This "modern farm practice" is cruel not only to animals but the land. The land needed to do this has left many natives forcibly removed, displaced, or lost forever. For this reason I cannot partake in farmed meats. I feel like it's a bite of colonialism at it's peak. It's literally inside of me. We have traditional foods but even now that is at risk from loss of natural habitat.
