Boots up on the dashboard and guitar in his lap, Levi sat back in his Chevy. He was thankful for the recent repairs to his windshield. But as it turned out, his air conditioner had gone faulty. It seemed to be one problem after the next with this beloved muscle car of his. So he settled for rolling his windows down instead. His truck had never had nearly as many problems as this vehicle did. But he only had himself to blame, really.

He put this car through hell on more than one occasion. But she still seemed to stick it out. Levi tied his last string into place then, tightening the pegs until he felt he was in tune. He didn’t spend enough time playing these days, hadn’t for a few weeks. Usually had other priorities or distractions about him. But his calloused fingers seemed to know exactly what to play. He glanced up however, noticing when someone had tapped on his halfway open window.

Heaven. Home. Whatever. It didn't feel like either anymore. Castiel had spent a year or so with the Winchester and upon his return to heaven, the chaos up there made him feel much more out of place than he ever did before. And Castiel never really fit in. He was too much of an angel to really fit in with the Winchesters, but much too human to ever fit in with the heavenly host.

It hurt though. It hurt to see the place that was once so peaceful in full chaos. It hurt to see his brothers and sisters lost and confused. See, angels get their orders from God but without a God to give out the orders their existence seems almost obsolete. His brothers and sisters felt useless and Castiel could see the light in their graces begin to fade.

It was then that Castiel made the decision that he would not abandon his brothers and sisters, that he would guide them. The one thing he knew for certain was that he would give them more purpose, a better one, than Raphael would.

But uncertainty was very much alive within him. He was taking on a job much too big for an angel as young as him and as he sat there, in the heaven of an autistic man who had drowned in a bath tub, praying, seeking revelation from God, he heard the flutter of wings. Expecting Raphael, he quickly reached into his coat for his blade.
