My TBT is of my beloved Grandma Eva when she was around 40 years old. • She was such a beautiful lady inside and out, she did all she could to make everyone happy. Because of her I am the man I am today and for that I’m eternally thankful. • Specially today on Día de los Muertos, when we remember those who left us on this human realm, I want to say thank you for always being there for me even to this day, thank you for visiting me in my dreams and telling me things I didn’t fathom to be real, thank you for visiting me because I know it’s you when I smell roses, thank you for teaching me the value and rituals of planting trees and growing a flower garden, thank you for being my number one role model of an architect, thank you for being loving and giving, thank you for sharing your stories and experiences, thank you for inspiring me to travel the world because I promised you I would do it for you, thank you telling me I was talented, thank you for being my business partner when I hatched chickens and ducks and sold them to the neighbors, thank you for teaching to love and respect animals, thank you for baking those delicious loaves of banana bread I loved so so so much, thank you for always making me “patastes” (chayote) with cheese because you knew those were my favorites legumes, thank you for inspiring me to follow beautiful traditions and cherish them, thank you for teaching me to be proud of where I come from, thank you for caring for me when I was sick or hurt, thank you for the most beautiful memories and time we spent on this Earth, and overall thank you for loving me unconditionally. I miss you every day of my life Abuelita. How much I wish you were here. I would give everything I have now just to hug you and tell you how much I love you. Goodnight Abuelita Eva.
