sorry i’m thinking abt this again. and also i found the screenshots

something something fraldarius loyalty shield of faerghus fated connection i can’t put it into words rn but these are my thoughts

thinking abt how felix derides the blind loyalty & chivalry of dedue & ingrid but his loyalty is so integral to his character that if he defects from the faerghan army he becomes basically aimless and gets generally worse endings…. how he admits that he’s become exactly what he couldn’t bear to see in dimitri…………….. & thinking abt how he refuses to entertain the idea of the dead having any bearing on reality to dimitri & ingrid but then when dimitri dies in non-AM routes felix is always thinking abt him (“could i have saved him? could i have stopped him?” + wanting to avenge him etc.)…….. & thinking abt how he acts all standoffish & like he doesn’t care but he painstakingly adapts his fighting style to complement those of his friends to keep them safe…….. what CAN’T he do

#it’s like. both glenn and rodrigue being utterly devoted to supporting the blaiddyds and being hurt because of it so felix is like #ok fuck that……. but then he recommits ANYWAY because he ALSO has the godforsaken fraldarius loyalty gene or whatever #the fraldarius ride or die gene if you will #not to sound normal but felix & dimitri remind me of orpheus & eurydice sometimes?#where it’s like. how do i phrase this #felix will never Not love dimitri….. and it’s his downfall in every route but in different ways…….#bc on one hand if he decides to defect in CF/VW/etc it’s the death of his ideals bc loyalty etc etc + he becomes ‘like the boar’#but then if he STAYS he has to adhere to the same chivalric system thing that killed his brother and father that he openly hates #(but even WORSE he has to be proven wrong)#like he cannot win!!!!! he just cares too much!!!!!!!!#orpheus turning to look back at eurydice etcetera #like felix made the Choice to stay where he could’ve left but no version of him ever stopped caring #which i guess again comes back to his loyalty being his most important trait bc when he denies in in CF/etc things go not great for him #and it fucking!!! goes all the way back to loog and kyphon!!!#which i ALSO think is really cool bc as a nation faerghus’s connection to their past & their need for slow change + church ties are an issue #lichrally they are faerghus embodied……. or something #really these tags should be their own new post. maybe i’ll do that or something #maybe this doesn’t actually make sense idrk i’m just talking recreationally here #anyway i have to go normalmode now because im meeting my friend at a café. but i DO have more to say about this
