#not to say that rose or martha or donna were never fucked up weirdos#but they were certainly more average people than clara#in some ways rory is almost representative of this#not being an unhinged moffat character

And this is somewhat fair, BUT remember Rory was in love with the insane girl. As in people thought she was literally clinically mental. And he loved that crazy girl his entire life, and I don’t think there’s any argument that they would have been in that kind of relationship if she had been in any way ‘normal’. Rory is normal but he’s also exclusively attracted to the weird. Not just with Amy but notices the patterns with the patients, reads about sci-fi stuff and different dimensions to the point he can immediately guess how the TARDIS works. So I think he’s still somewhat in his own personal subsection of the moffat zone.
