This was such a cute read!!

I loved Astra's character arc, as she learns to be more open and daring. I related to her a lot, with how she's an introvert and struggles to make friends.

When she meets Isla, typical ghost hijinks ensue, i.e. Isla bothering her and Astra begrudgingly going along with what Isla wants. I really appreciated how their relationship progressed so organically, growing from grudging acquaintances to best friends to perhaps something more? 👀

I loved how Astra's and Isla's arcs are intertwined, with Isla helping Astra to come out of her shell and explore new things. I was worried that the story would be just Isla helping Astra, as some romances can be a bit one-sided in that regard, but Astra also helps Isla with [SPOILERS]. I also appreciated that Astra and Isla have to make their hard decisions by themselves.

I wished we could have gotten a dual POV with Isla's perspective. I feel like lot of her character arc happened off page, and we only see parts of what Isla deals with from Astra's perspective. I understand that this is deliberate, to keep things hidden from the reader, but I would trade all the mystery just to know what is going on in Isla's head.

Some other things I want to mention:

Astra has synesthesia (perceives colours as physical sensations) and seems to have OCD or autism but its not made completely clear (counts things and has to do things in certain orders, also has sensory issues, but its stated that the sensory issues are a side effect of being around ghosts so idk)

I loved Astra and Oliver's friendship so much, but damn, Oliver was third-wheeling hard

Astra and her mom worked it out by the end, but lowkey if I were in Astra's shoes I would be a little resentful

I am still building out their dynamic and headcanons on my head, but I have a couple of things(also a sort of starting point). Kind of long post ahead

As I have mentioned in an older post(and I'm pretty sure you read it?) Himuro is a very emotional person, and Kuroko is a great support, chill to be with and listener. Not like harmful emotional dependence, its more a relationship of safe space and acceptance of each other.

Himuro has a tendency of being too harsh with himself and Kuroko could be a great influence changing that :)

I don't think Himuro would get in between Kuroko/Kagami, I see it happening if Kuroko feelings are unrequited therefore his heart got broken :'( Himuro heart got broken by Kagami once too so yeah. At first, he thought it would work between them, and surprisingly it didn't.

Kuroko in love gaze was still there, but with a pinch of sadness on it. On the few occasions they were all reunited, at some point Himuro noticed he was unconciously thinking about Kuroko in a different way, maybe seeing himself on it.

On a solidarity act 💔❤️‍🩹🤝 Himuro asked him to go eat something together without any particular reason(of course Kuroko figured out what was the reason behind). Although initial Himuro intentions were to comfort him a bit, as the conversation went on, and he knew Kuroko a bit more, he again empathized with him and did not wanted to see Kuroko so sad like himself were years back.

Not sure of what he was doing, feeling? compassion, love, friendship? asked Kuroko to hang out more often. Kuroko could get distracted doing activities with him + Murasakibara as a plus ^_^ "ooo muro-chin liking kuro-chin means I get to see kuro-chin more often..." haha

Occasional, though! Kuroko is still close to his Seirin friends and Kagami :D

Eventually Himuro acknowledges what he felt when seeing or talking with Kuroko, and asks him to have a date <3 in this field Himuro is more confident, if reciprocated. Kuroko is surprised, but happy to share this with someone like Himuro-kun ❤️ so cheesy forgive me.

Anyways... they could bond on similar past experiences. Also, I think they're breaking a pattern on the type of people they've liked before, and that's interesting for both. I like to believe that Himuro knows what he wants, and is an attentive, passionate lover in his own way. Kuroko is similar :)

In more headcanons, weekend visits are occasional, but very special! I think Himuro would visit Kuroko more often than the other way around, specially in surprise on fridays after class :) Kuroko at the beginning is still a bit shy in doing things like that but gains enough confidence to also appear from sudden in Akita :D the distance between them is big as hell but they do text a lot, when time is available.

Murasakibara is included, and invited into 85% of their plans. How could you not invite him

Himuro calls Kuroko by his name(Tetsuya), but for Kuroko it takes him longer and is difficult to do the same thing, forgetting it often. Tatsuya-kun is more fitting for him to say and uses it occasionally :)

Feeling the bisexual 🤝 acearo solidarity here, 'cause people always assume that if you're not straight you're gay-aligned. And if you don't want to identify with the gay label then you're treated like you're straight-lite. Like sorry, but we don't have to fit into the gay vs straight binary, we're our own fully fleshed out identities. And if that makes you feel insecure/threatened in your own sexualities maybe unpack your internalised heteronormativity instead of making it our problem!

oh truly. there's that saying, about how when you're gay you basically never stop coming out, and yeah it sucks, I'm not saying it doesn't (it happens to me too), but it can also be accomplished in simple ways, like mentioning pronouns or holding hands with your partner. They don't have to defend explain their sexuality every time, even when standing next to their partner. And be disbelieved, because they can't prove the full scope of their sexuality (unless they're polyamorous, in which case they're a stereotype used to invalidate the rest of their community 😤). It can get exhausting, to the point that some do give up and just let people refer to them a gay/lesbian, so to see a character refuse to let others do that to him was so validating

and as someone who's probably a-spec of some sort (let me just shake my own hand there), I really loved isaac telling the others off for only taking interest when it seemed like he'd found a partner of his own. that horrible feeling of being alone, finally thinking you've found what everyone else has, only to realize that you haven't and most likely never will, and it's because there's something wrong with you. james' well-meaning "you just haven't found the right person yet" was like a shot to the chest. i'm really looking forward to season 3, where isaac, and the people around him, can learn more about a-spec identities, and he can feel more comfortable

i haven’t made any of my own aspect playlists in the time since we spoke last but i’m keeping it on my to-do list!! i would love to hear some of the songs you chose for yours, and i’ve had a great idea that i’ll circle back around to!

i LOVE talking classpects though! i put a lot of effort into choosing mine back in the day, and identified as Witch of Void for a long time. however, I wasn’t sure if I identified with that anymore, so I wanted to re-take the quiz before I answered you. I got Maid of Breath or Maid of Light this time, and both seem very fitting, but I’m not sure how strongly I feel about either.

(If you’re curious — for YEARS I have sworn by this quiz combined with this classpect analysis. I ignore the non-canon classpects on the quiz, though, personally. If I went by that, I’d be a Star of Blaze, which sounds pretty cool but I don’t know what any of that means, so…)

Also you MUST tell me your’s!!!! I at one point made all of my friends, including the non-homestuck ones, to figure out their classpects, I am so serious about it. its my favorite personality test that I am perhaps a little intense about. uh. anyway.

So. First impressions. I have to admit to you, anon, German is so foreign to me that I could not help but find it a little silly at first. That being said, the longer I listen to it, the more I ease into the sounds. I did this initial listen-through at work, when I first got your ask (which I received a full 23 hours after you sent it! I checked!). The sounds are fun!

However, I didn’t want this to be the entirety of my experience with them. Which comes to the part that took me so long to get around to — looking up the translated lyrics, and re-listening to all the songs with a little more context. This was an important step to me! I want to understand what you love about them!

My favorites from Rammstein were Links 2 3 4 and Sonne, and Karawane was my favorite from Equilibrium. Links 2 3 4 was the first one I listened to and the one I thought “german sounds so strange” about, but I really enjoyed it my second go around!!

Do you have any particular thoughts about the songs you chose? I’d love to hear what you’re thinkin!

Also, to circle back around to the idea I had — I know you were hesitant about sharing actual playlists with me, but how about sending me lists of the songs and letting me put the playlist together myself? Harry Tuffs is one of my favourites for that reason!! As well as for what I mentioned on my response to Corvid, that tie-ins to lore and qualities make such a difference for me. I am bewildered that Queen of Elephants isn't higher on the ranking. I loved it! It has so many references it can pull from that make it feel like it's more your character in the role than just a placeholder.

🤝 Canadian solidarity about those prices though. I wish they were just a bit more affordable TT. I'm lucky that I'm in a place now where I can budget it into my monthly fun expense, but even still it's a debate every month. Zoro’s a bit (a lot) confused as far as neo pronouns go, but he’s got the spirit 

He’s as transmasc as the next feral swordsman you’d find on the Grand Line, but pronouns have never really been a thing that he’s had to put too much thought into (in Zoro’s mossy brain: he/him is typically used for guys, so he’ll use he/him because he’s a guy, easy)

Zoro knows that’s not the case for you, though, so he’ll make adjustments to his vernacular accordingly

He slips up every now and again grammar-wise, using the wrong subject and possessive forms here and there, but it’s nothing that a quick correction can’t fix - he’s always at least a little guiltily pouty too, so you can’t really stay mad at him, honestly

Bragging, though, is an artform that Zoro is clearly familiar with

He’s 100% supportive of your decisions and won’t stand for anyone who doesn’t (if you don’t want to cause a scene you may have a little trouble holding him back or have to discuss it with him beforehand because Yamato absolutely will call someone out on their bullshit when he sees it)

Sometimes you even get a little flustered or overwhelmed with the intensity and vigor that he supports you (very much the ’guns blazing’ type) but it’s all with an endearing air and the knowledge that Yamato only wants your best interest at heart

artem: iron man. listen, he appreciates a good movie about war and he's also a sci-fi fan, this one brings two and two together. i don't think he want to go see it in theaters but he did watch it. he appreciated its pioneering in comic book to movie adaptation, especially since it was the first of the mcu series. he doesn't have enough comic book knowledge to fully appreciate iron man, but he does like it! a close second is captain america. probably sided with iron man in the accords tho

marius: thor ragnorok. that one is a given. i feel like marius is definitely humor driven and really likes loki's character a lot. (him 🤝 loki, causing their mothers death JDNDJDBF) the brotherly dynamic is fun to watch and i think that elevator scene really got to him bc he and giann are very different, but marius still loves giann. i put him as a mid tier marvel fan, he's gone to see some movies in theaters but isn't too hard pressed to miss them. he would have gotten into comics through the mcu! he appreciates the difference in art styles

luke: the first avengers movie. i feel like he's a hardcore marvel fan, probably made mc wait at midnight with him to go see some of these movies. i think he's strictly a movie fan tho, which probably drives others crazy. likes that movie specifically bc that's the one that started it all, not to mention all the action sequences. that angle of the camera where it does a circle around the avengers? you know the one. that one gets him so hyped. that movie has a special place in his heart

Sorry for such a late reply, life's been busy! No worries, I've never worried about credit before when it comes to cosplay. Not like I have a brand or whatever to advertise im just there to have fun! I was mostly just surprised and excited to see it mentioned on another blog I follow!

Its always instagrams people ask for now anyways. One person at the con asked for my Instagram to tag me or something, told em I didnt have one, but I had a tumblr!... aaaand they didn't even ask for the name 🥲

Im totally awkward when it comes to asking for and taking pictures too don't worry! anxious solidarity! 🤝 If I didn't have a few practiced poses prepared in advance I would have been flailing haha
