bestie give me your most recent yaku headcanons, I need them like I need water 🙏🙏

YAKU THE GOAT!! Happy late-birthday to that guy, wish I drew him for the occasion :')

I have a bunch of team-based rambles sitting in the drafts that i’ll probably dump this week but here are some specifically Yaku-centric thoughts! 

Fastest runner on the team by a long shot, there's no escaping him once you're being chased (ESPECIALLY if you pissed him off). Before practice you'll often see Lev sprinting from the club room only to be tackled to the ground a few seconds later (he probably said something dumb again or knocked shit over with his gangly-ass arms).

Because he's so fast Kuroo sends Yaku to fetch stuff from the main building when needed, which only works because he lays the flattery on THICK ("Because you're soooo fast, you're the only one who can do it! I can't trust anyone else for this Yakkun, the whole team is relying on you" etc etc). Yaku grumbles but he's incredibly weak to praise and usually ends up caving.

Of the third-years Yaku spoils the first-years the most. He's constantly buying them meat buns after practice or taking time during breaks to help them improve their recieves. Again, he's super susceptible to compliments and loves being looked up to so he's willing to spend a bit of money to win their approval. He and Kuroo are always arguing about which of them is the better senpai, when asked they answer Yaku to keep their free food privledges (much to Kuroo's despair). Yaku would never choose favorites... but it's totally Shibayama.

Speaking of Shibayama he's so fucking proud of that kid, he acts like his father even though they're only two years apart in age. After the timeskip Yaku makes a point of watching his games on TV and messaging him about it afterwards. He's the type to point out moves and go "I taught him that." They stay pretty tight as adults

Him and Suga also keep in touch, after their first meeting at the practice match in s1 they started texting each other stupid things their idiot teammates are up to and tips on dealing with them.

Fourth biggest eater on the team (Behind Inuoka and Tora, tied with Fukunaga). It's baffling how much food he can put down in such a short period of time.

Obsessed with this detail from one of the chapter headers, I think Yaku is a serial food stealer and he GETS AWAY WITH IT since he's so fast and nimble. Menace, do not take your eyes off him when in the possesion of snacks.
