you can make as many side blogs as you want, so go ham. each has a unique URL and gets its own inbox, though you still can only follow/reply/send asks from your main. Side blogs are a great and easy way to organize your posts if you dont want to have absolutely everything go to your main (though no judgment if you do)

I’m not sure how best to explain in the abstract so i’ll just go through my organization as examples

main blog (@corvidinthewoods [this one!]): most of my original posts go here, usually text-based or the occasional art. if i’ve added a comment to something, either via tags or normal addition, it goes here unless it has a dedicated side blog. this is also where i reblog things i want to save and i add the appropriate tag when it’s relevant. if i’m enjoying whatever joke is going on, it probably goes here, as well as other time-relevant things (like stuff i think my mutuals will like or if im hoping for interaction). I use the queue a lot, but have it set to only post a few times a day.

spam blog (@spaminthewoods): this is the dumptruck. random things, next to nothing original. sometimes i reblog the same post five times in a row to show enthusiasm, and that goes here. sometimes i wanna reblog a million things about a movie i just watched, and most of that ends up here. i dont use tags on this blog cause its basically a ‘miscellaneous’ folder

interest blogs (@furbinthewoods and @arborealcorvid): dedicated to a specific topic. If an original post is only about furbies, it goes to furbinthewoods. If its only about homestuck, it goes to arborealcorvid. Most reblogs related to those two topics also get sent there, though there are exceptions. I do this cause i know that these two interests can put a lot of people off, including folks who i am friends/mutuals with. it makes it easy for those ppl to avoid seeing them most of the time! there are special occasions where i reblog lots of relevant stuff to my main, like on 4/13 for example, but that’s generally a time when those things will be trending anyway. Sometimes i’ll post to my main and then reblog myself onto the side blog, thats typically an artwork.

i have one or two other sideblogs but hopefully this gets the gist across. welcome to tumblr newbies, and welcome back cheater (/lh) to the returners!
