He pinched your cheek as he smiled and you recalled the moment he was talking about; you wrapped on one of his fluffiest sweaters, forcing him to cuddle you in bed before he had to head off to take care of his dogs.

You pressed your back further into his chest, lolling your head to the side and resting it on his shoulder bone. Only your heads were visible as the dawn cascaded through the creaky wood.

"Still hurting?"

"Yeah"

You muttered out as you went to grasp your belly, feeling a pair of bigger hands already soothing the skin there, kneading softly and rumaging through the expanse of your skin.

You sipped your favourite warm drink he knew you loved, almost melting at the way he choose the perfect options for your taste buds.

You pressed your face on his chest, trying to surpress your incessant cries you didn't even know where they were coming from. He melted as you muffled your words into his naked chest.

"Didn't want to- wake you up"

Interrumpted by a hiccup you felt even more tears falling down your cheeks, making you separate your wet and hot face from his chest, rubbing your eyes.

"Don't waste such a pretty voice in such fool words"

He whispered out, grasping your hair and pressing your face into his neck. Your hands now hugged his neck as he laid down a bit, finding a comfortable position and pecking your head on the process, rubbing soothing circles with his thumb on your knee.

You both fell into a comfortable silence and when he looked down he saw his wet chest and your beautiful pout as your lips were pressed tightly into his pectoral.

You didn't even look at him as he patted your thigh. Letting him lift you up to take off your jacket and shirt as he made sure you didn't have to move a muscle while putting your pijamas on. You heard some shuffling behind and you guessed he was getting ready to bed too, already getting yourself comfortable under the covers as you waited for him.

"See? All nice and comfy here, not out there getting yout hands dirty for me"

He pulled you into his arms immediately after laying down on the matress, rubbing your back with his thumb.

"I do it because you deserve it"

Raiden (Jack)

You soon found yourself actually watching the movie, placing your hands on his tattoed arms as your nape rested almost on his chest now. Feet supporting yourself on his thigh, you were almost laying completely on him.

Music Taste Of The Four Lords

What follows is a list of various music I think the lords would like, each get a few artists and/or song they'd like and a theoretical favorite song. Of course a question could not get more subjective but that doesn't mean I'm taking criticism lol. Be advised I barely listen to modern music (past 10 years or so) with a few exceptions so it may be stunted that direction.

Alcina Dimitrescu: Lady Dimitrescu would definitely like a lot of stuff from her own time, classic big band, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra (I know he's later), Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, these are the only men she can put up with besides Ramon Salazar and the Duke. She probably toured with half of the fuckers. I think she'd pick and choose from all the decades after that. She'd like Fleetwood Mac, I know, I don't know why but she does, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, and positively fucking loves Laufey. But her favorite song is "Dancing Queen by ABBA", fucking change my mind. She'd also probably really like ABBA on the whole, "Dancing queen, young and sweet, only 117".

Salvatore Moreau: I'm sorry but I have to let you all down with Moreau, I can only think of the song he cries to and his favorite song. He cries to "Hurt by Johnny Cash" and his favorite song is "Don't Stop Believin' by Journey" this being his favorite song is non-negotiable, I just know it'd be.

Karl Heisenberg: Well, obviously, this man would love Classic Rock and Metal. I'd say for artists he'd like Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, The Strokes, and Nirvana (He'd def love Grunge). I don't know many heavy metal bands but he'd probably like them along with Cassandra. For a favorite song I'm going to go out on a limb and say "And Romeo Had Juliette" I just think he'd love the forlorn romanticism of it all, lyrics in particular. I'm also an ardent Donnaberg shipper and I think the song definitely works for them. No way I projected my favorite song onto Heisenberg, no way, right? His close second favorite song is "The Man Who Sold The World by Nirvana", it's a Bowie song, Nirvana did a cover before Cobain died.

Donna Beneviento: For Donna she'd probably have some really calm jazz for Angie to interrupt while she works, Miles Davis, maybe Brubeck, I'd guess. I also think for sure think she'd love the Talking Heads. But I can't think of many artists for Donna so here are songs. I'd say she's probably a lot more eclectic than the others lords musically so it varies more. "Crazy by Gnarls Barkley", "Say It Ain't So by Weezer", "We'll Meet Again by Vera Lynn", "The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen", "Wish I Knew You by The Revivalists", "Heroes by David Bowie", "House of the Rising Sun by The Animals". And for her favorite song I'd say "Cigarette Daydreams by Cage The Elephant". It also has a little bit of Donnaberg in it to me if you think in terms of them so I'm biased.

With 17 pages, 11/22/2009 is the longest Homestuck update by number of pages to date. It contains not one but TWO huge story developments: the ominous planet and the Peregrine Mendicant.

Ominous Planet

Just as WV told us, the ominous planet is bright purple and lies ‘beyond an impenetrable veil of darkness’ (p.704/886).

Dad is here!! I think a lot of the sudden character transitions in Homestuck actually make sense – we went from John thinking about going into his dad’s room, over to Dad himself. He barely appeared in Act 2, getting kidnapped by the imps at the start and breaking out of his trick handcuffs at the end, and now he easily bests them. Clowning is a physically demanding pursuit so Dad must be well in shape beneath the business clothes, because he launches one imp right through the wall.

We also meet an imp security guard (?) who’s wearing similar but more intricate harlequin gear.

They’re watching Dad fight the imps and somehow also watching John battle the ogres, through a pair of windows similar in design to ‘one of [Jade’s] GRANDPA'S more mysterious inventions’ (p.790), the freestanding window on Jade’s gadget table. There is apparently no end to the number of people watching John.

He looks kind of familiar. On page 833, we’re introduced to the full Midnight Crew as the sky switches from blue to bright purple. And comparing these face shapes and designs side by side, these two characters feel like they could have something to do with each other. They’re both really angry, as Spades Slick’s answer to everything is violence, and this new guy refers to the other imps, John and Dad, or both as ‘graveyard stuffers’ (p.891). It’s the only text we get in relation to the character. The narrator apparently has nothing to add and no witty comment on that thought of theirs. There’s then a quick cut where seeing the next page title ‘You are now…’ suggests that we’re about to become this guy, but we instead suddenly become-

Peregrine Mendicant

THE MAIL HAS ARRIVED. Mail, packages and deliveries are a recurring motif – there have been several important colorful packages, several envelopes containing discs, and now there is a letter to Dr. David Brinner, ATTN: SERIOUS BUSINESS. Serious Business is of course the messaging client that Dad uses to keep in touch with his troupe, and we just returned to Dad in the story, so is this finally the moment that wellPressedAttire or officeurchin1280 take their starring role in the narrative? It’s definitely a person in John’s neighborhood but not Dad himself, as we’ve seen the insides of the Egbert mailbox.

PM’s mail based tirade (p.894-896) is of course reminiscent of WV’s mayoral calling (p.686) and PM’s adoption of the hat is just like WV making their sash. So there’s something to say about these chess pieces arriving at these Skaian bunkers and immediately adopting an institution of society as critically important. Both PM and WV’s monologues read as very idealistic, imagining these overly simplistic societies that function like textbook diagrams, as though they know about these things from books similar to WV’s Human Etiquette tome and have never been part of an actual human society. Comparing the two, WV’s monologue feels more peaceful, as it’s focused on everyone getting along, mutual respect, civility and a kind leader. PM talks of soldiers, a crusade, defenders and hope among the ashes; it’s far more violent and adventurous, and feels more grounded in harsh realities even while it maybe overestimates the mail’s capability.

Which is not to criticize the mail or PM’s speech, because I think they’re both great. I agree that mail is very important, highly underappreciated, and I think it’s beautiful to explore an empty wasteland and to think ‘if there are any people left here, I need to make sure they can communicate with each other’.

Looking stylish in their new hat, PM loads their terminal and tries to greet Jade the same way WV commanded John. Jade is already covered by a lot of green static, but it appears to be snowing where she is, with flakes and drifts behind her. Which is weird in itself, because Jade is close enough to the equator that a quick search suggests it wouldn’t snow in her area no matter the time of year, especially not with the geothermal power near her house. But it gets weirder, because when John resisted a command he just felt frustrated and got a headache as he tried to ignore a weird voice in his head. When Jade resists a command, she apparently blows up the command station with lightning that she transmits through time and space. Yet another way that Jade is weirder and more powerful than the other characters.

Made originally for the battles in the first half of Season 7, Gunn and Bryce couldn't resist the opportunity to immortalize their names in metal when they were rebuilt for the market in Part 2.

Not only are the signs an opportunity for the Art Department to have a bit of fun and feature their names in the show, but it actually helps with legal clearances too, moving them through much faster.

To create the effect, David Berry traveled to London to have a mold taken of his face. Then, a prosthetic was made to fit over his eye (which, by the way, cut off his vision). Application took an hour.

Conceptually, we just kept adding more and more. If you look closely, there are different layers of time within everything we put in that room.

There's some really ragtag, tatty looking stuff. There's some stuff that looks quite crisp and sharp.

We've always shown Jamie as a revered leader... whether it be his guys at Prestonpans and Culloden-his Scottish guys that know he's a great leader-or his guys from the Ridge-his Ardsmuir guys that would follow him anywhere-he's always been the top dog. But now that he goes north and joins the revolutionary cause... he's kind of a nobody. He's in a much bigger army now...

We crafted it very purposefully to start him small as just one of the guys making suggestions but turning out to be right. Little by little, he proves himself... Hi! I'm not sure if somebody asked you this before, but what types of music do you think the Reds are into? Maybe you have some examples of artists you think they like?

Sarge definitely likes a lot of country-western and classic rock/folk rock, but surprisingly loves more soulful music as well, jazz and blues (he wishes it wasn't called that, but oh well), and isn't afraid to give any musical genre a listen, which leads him to liking many songs that are funk/hip-hop/rap (he's also secretly a huge fan of Stevie Nicks and Dolly Parton). Simmons tries to play-up being a fan of classical music to seem impressive... and he DOES like it, but he's also a big dork who loves songs that are specifically made for movies (Ghostbusters, everything Will Smith did for his films, etc), and collects soundtracks for whatever he likes (he really digs musical scores, like Jurassic Park and such). He also really likes 80s bops and techno/synth music, but doesn't want to admit he's into "nerd music". He also likes oldies and "soda fountain hits" from the 50s and 60s. Grif will just say he likes "whatever", because he doesn't focus too much on one genre (and he doesn't want to admit he likes a lot of "oldie" rock, some pop and hippie music), and plays up liking chill zone-out songs more. He does enjoy a few weird/experimental/alt music (grunge and what-not). Donut does indeed love a lot of pop songs/dance music, but randomly likes more edgy stuff, but usually not too dark (some hip-hop in there, some alt rock, punk, and glam metal). Basically anything really catchy, which he WILL play over and over again when it is his turn to control the radio. Like Grif and Simmons, stuff he enjoys were in the soundtracks for movies he watched, and he has an appreciation for disco. I'm the say ranting anon as yesterday and I was gonna leave it at that but I saw this and I think is an interesting topic so I'm gonna rant a little bit more (sorry in advance).

It's impossible for anyone to know how is Harry gonna be remembered 30 years from now but what we can do is trying to compare him with the artist we consider legends today.

Lets take Elton John, Freddy Mercury, Prince, George Michael, Madonna, Whitney Houston and David Bowie for example... Each and every single one of them is considered a legend, the most successful in their field, the ones current artist use as inspiration and what they aspire to be. You know what else they have in common? Careers full of rumors, cheating scandals, drugs scandals, gay scandals, failed marriages, fake marriages, money problems, etc, etc, etc.

But those are no the things they're remember for, at the end their music and their art is soo good and made such an impact that all the "noise" sorrounding their careers just take a passive role.

I mean, as a fan, leaving through the rumors and all the nonsense is annoying as fuck and I would love if when I spoke about Harry people ONLY asked me about his music because he is so much more than his supposed girlfriends but what can I do?

And of course it is possible to be successful in the industry without playing the game, I wasn't trying to imply Zayn isn't but there's levels to that success, at least in the eyes of the general public.

Like let's be honest, all 5 of the boys has had a successful solo career so far but which one of them is more likely to achieve the legend status your anon is talking about??? Everyone under the sun knows the answer is Harry.

And why is that? It's not because he's has a powerful voice or because he's an excellent lyricist or because he's and incredible performer. Of course he's all that. But the reason he has achieved so much and is probably get the legend status someday is because how his team has marketed him. I'm sorry but without Columbia and the azzoffs Harry wouldn't be where he is today 🤷‍♀️ They're horrible people but they sure as hell know what they're doing and Harry is happy with their job and where his career is going so...

There’s something unquantifiable about the artists you mention, though. Take Madonna, for example. Cyndi Lauper came out at the same time. She had a much better voice. Her singles were huge. She had a great look. She definitely had fans (still does), but Madonna had that extra something that drew the masses in and kept them there (and oh my god did she have scandals and gossip galore—some of them very purposely manufactured).

And I agree with you about the Azoffs/Sony/Harry’s team. They’re taking him where he wants to go.

Carlisle - Of course Carlisle likes older movies. There's no real genre, but if it's in black and white then he's probably a fan. He really adores the classics, and some of his favorites are Citizen Kane, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Maltese Falcon.

Esme - Esme is such a sucker for romance of all kinds, but classic romance can bring her to her knees. She loves a bittersweet ending, and she is TOTALLY a hallmark Christmas movie mom. She was a die hard Casablanca fan and a year cannot pass without her watching It's A Wonderful Life at least four times. Anything that makes her heart ache, she adores.

Edward - This dramatic asshole. Claims that he really only likes inspirational foreign French films because of the ~drama~ but you know what??? he secretly watches romance movies with Esme, not that it's actually a secret because everyone already knows. Pretty Woman? Yes. 10 Things I Hate About You? Absolutely. If he had the ability to cry, he definitely would have after watching A Walk to Remember.

Rosalie - Rosalie likes sci-fi and fantasy movies. Labyrinth is a special favorite, though it might be because of her crush on David Bowie. She was surprised at how much she enjoyed The Shape of Water, but you're more likely going to find her watching something like Close Encounters of the Third Kind or The Princess Bride.

Emmett - Emmett dabbles in movies - he really likes a bit of everything. Drama, comedy, action, fantasy - he wouldn't say he actually has a favorite. He thinks comedy might take precedence; he's a huge fan of anything by Mel Brooks.

Jasper - He hates how stereotypical it is, but he loves Westerns. He's seen pretty much everything that John Wayne has ever been in. Really, anything to do with history will be ok for him to watch, though it took him a while to be comfortable with some of the Civil War era movies. Loves The Patriot and Braveheart, though he isn't a fan of Mel Gibson, and Black Beauty has a special place in his heart.

Alice - Alice likes all of those corny teen romance films, like Princess Diaries or She's the Man. She isn't sure why, but they really make her happy!! They're always so cute and quirky, she adores them so much.

Henry's Dog David, and How RWRB (the Book and the Movie) Explore the Meaning of His Name.

An Easter Egg from the book that the film managed to incorporate in an entirely different context.

Henry naming his dog David is one of the things Alex comments on both in the film and the book. He finds the name particularly odd for a pet, and when Henry tells him later that the inspiration was David Bowie, Alex remarks that he could have just used the surname instead.

This is basically just me overthinking the way the book and the film added "David and Jonathan" to two totally different scenes haha.

David Bowie

There has been a lot of debate over Bowie's sexuality since the 70s, and possibly conflicting statements from Bowie himself over the decades, but he did leave quite an impact on queer people in his time (ref: this article). Henry both in the book and in the film has often turned to literature and art for inspiration, and solace, when it came to exploring his own identity as a gay man. All kinds of historical queer identities - both debated and confirmed - show up in the tapestry of people and ideas that have influenced Henry's own thoughts and ideas (Alex's too). So it definitely makes sense that he would name his beloved pet dog after one of those inspirations.

(notably, during Henry's dramatic entrance when Alex comes down to the UK for damage control, the song playing is Bowie's "Up the Hill Backwards". You also see him choose a Queen song for karaoke, which makes me want to really headcanon him as a 70s prog rock fan 😄)

David and Jonathan

In the book, Alex goes over the details of Henry's fact sheet with Nora and his sister June. When he mentions the name of Henry's dog, he claims his dislike for the name is because it sounds more like a "tax attorney" than a beloved pet (Ch 2).

In the film, it's his SS detail Amy who quizzes him. She responds to his quip about Henry's choice of name for a pet by telling him what she's named her own dog. It's a tiny, fun detail with no lasting importance in the film, but I feel it does work within the larger framework of how the film incorporates queer readings and figures too.

I see this as a reference to a popular reading of the Hebrew/Biblical story of David and Jonathan from the 2 books of Samuel. David was a shepherd anointed by the prophet Samuel (through orders from God), to succeed King Saul, and Jonathan was Saul's son who was extremely devoted to David and even saved him from his father's wrath. They were known to have made a covenant to each other soon after they met, and the first Book of Samuel gives us a picture of an immensely close bond between the two:

After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family. And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt. (1 Samuel 18, 1-4)

Interpretations of their relationship have ranged from close friendship to a romantic relationship, and there have been many, many queer readings on this pair.

In Casey McQuiston's RWRB too, Alex references both a saying from the Book of Proverbs (24:13), and the story of David and Jonathan in the same paragraph. This is in Ch 10, when Henry takes Alex to the V&A museum. This particular sequence is in the inner chamber of the museum, shortly after the couple dance to Elton John's "Your Song".

He compares himself and Henry to "a lost David and Jonathan", and it's pretty obvious why when you think of their devotion, and the tragic end of the relationship of the latter. Like Jonathan, Henry is a prince utterly devoted to one man, and sure that his family too will be against their bond. Like David, Alex is an outsider who the royal family may view as a threat to their stability, and therefore must be kept away. David's love for Jonathan is immense: he makes the covenant with Saul's son soon after they meet, and when he mourns Jonathan's death, he says "Thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women." (2 Samuel 1:26).

This amazing post from @elipheleh explores this metaphor more in detail (as well as St. Chiara, and a quote from Oscar Wilde, who is referenced both in the book and the film as a writer Henry is fond of). It also speaks about the verse from the Book of Proverbs that Alex remembers, partly in Spanish, partly in English - Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste. (Proverbs 24:13-14)

(Jonathan in 1 Samuel also has his own reference to honey - there is a story that chronicles a tense moment between Jonathan and his father, King Saul, due to Jonathan eating wild honey on a day when the troops were bound by an oath to fast (he had not heard the oath himself). He almost faces death by Saul's hand for breaking the oath the latter had made, but is saved by the other people in the troops. (1 Samuel 14: 24-46). I've seen different ways of this passage being interpreted - as either Jonathan being judged for disobeying an oath even though he was not around when it was announced, or Saul being viewed as foolish for making such an oath in the first place. The main point is, Saul is ready to kill his son for breaching a certain protocol, and it is the people who save Jonathan.

Similarly IMO, Henry is prepared to live his whole life in the closet viewing his sexuality as something that would bring shame to his family, but eventually recognizes that he has support. Both within his family (in the form of his mother Catherine and his sister Bea), and in the public eye)

At this point in their lives, Alex and Henry see very little hope that things will get better soon enough for them to unite. It is more than likely that - in their minds - this one romantic visit will be their last for a long, long time. Of course David and Jonathan - who parted ways in the hope of being reunited after the battle with Jonathan's father, and whose friendship/love met a tragic end - would be considered a fitting parallel for the situation Alex and Henry find themselves in.

The book has the space and scope to explore many, many images and symbols that could fit Alex and Henry. Whether it's in the letters they send each other, the references Alex learns more about as he figures out his sexuality. The book can - at the V&A museum - describe the statues the two men linger at in loving detail, making us more aware how poignant their temporary separation will be and how bittersweet this last dance is.

The movie's focus is different - the V&A scene is a (presumably) final, deeply intimate moment that lets Alex see for real the weight of his role in Henry's environment, and how little he expects to see his dreams come true. It also lets Henry see how determined Alex is to make his every dream a reality.

Most moments of highlighting queer literature or history are pocketed away in smaller sequences in the film, as small references and Easter eggs (eg. the books they recommend each other), as the film focuses more on the relationship and it's effects both on the men and the world around them. The V&A is more a visual backdrop for that bittersweet last moment where the two can find equal ground and truly understand each other. I think mentioning the names of the statues would take away from that.

The movie didn't need to include David and Jonathan. Why is why I'm truly, truly grateful that they still did. Even as a tiny, cute Easter egg that is supposed to be banter about weirdly specific pet-naming protocol 💖

OK…

I listened to a lot of music this year, and I am not going to prattle on about it all this time because there's too much. These are the albums that came out this year that I really liked. They aren't in a specific order, but they are in a general order (closer to the top just means I listened to it more often, or responded enthusiastically/felt really strongly about it). I have been doing a lot of radio this year, and so I've listened to so much music. It's not trying to be a definitive top 100 list, I am sure I missed some gems, but these are things I personally liked. Then there are some special mentions at the end that include some reissues that include some reworked/additional material, and some compilations/live albums as well. Also a lot of animated movies like The Lego Movie and Lego Batman (masterpieces) and Pixar and Dreamwork's Movies (his favorites being Toy story and Shrek). Also Disney classics like treasure planet and Atlantis. Probably also western movies and he'd idolize Clint Eastwood.

Favorite Series are The Office, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo etc.

Wylan: Perks of being a wallflower, Ladybird, Howl's moving castle, Billy Elliot, Your Name, Dead Poet's society, Stardust, Narnia, La La Land, Lotr trilogy (his comfort movies), Call me by your name and all of Wes Anderson's movies. I think he'd be secretly a huge filmnerd who also loves A24 movies, David Fincher, arthouse movies etc. But I think he would be a bit embarrassed by it.

His favorite series are Doctor Who (David Tennant Version because that's the best one), Fargo and Good Omens.

Nina: A sucker for romance and chick flicks, especially romantic comedies. The Notebook, Mamma Mia!, When Harry met Sally, Mean Girls, She's the Man, badly written Netflix romantic comedies,

She likes reality TV and desperate housewives, sex and the city, friends and modern family.

Matthias: 1917, Saving Private Ryan, All quiet on the western front, Hacksaw Ridge, The Notebook, Dunkirk, John Wick movies and other action movies. My taste is completely different so it's very difficult for me to think of other movies he would like.

I don't think he would watch a lot of series because it takes up a lot of time. Not the guy to concern himself with entertainment and media really but does enjoy a good story.

unsettled because he’s lowkey this mysterious enigma that no one can seem to entirely figure out, like people on SNL were obsessed with trying to figure him out but many really couldn’t. I feel like he’d switch between animals like a Fox, River Otter, Cheetah, Red Wolf, Crow, maybe even a Goose that bites peoples ankles idk

I feel like Lorne’s daemon needs to balance him out a bit like they could be something a little less high energy/ act first think later and more calm and calculated, hence the clouded leopard

but they could share some other traits like being extremely clever and confident, having this “I know what I want and I want the best” sort of vibe

Lorne is not confrontational like he seriously avoids it at all costs and feels threatened when put into those types of situations (real Lorne gets genuinely angry), which totally fits Clouded Leopard since they’re typically elusive

I watched Tourist Trap (1979)

Here it is, the end of Halloween 2024: 1970's Horror.

A group of friends fall prey to a masked maniac.

Agatha Christie, Italian Giallos, "Psycho", "Black Christmas", "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", and John Carpenter's "Halloween" all led up to the 1980's slasher film craze within the horror genre.

Here at the tail end of the 1970's is "Tourist Trap". A bit of a whodunnit, a lot of a slasher, and a film that falls somewhere between "so bad it's good" and genuinely scary.

Produced by B-cinema legend Charles Band, starring film and television star Chuck Connors, and directed by "Puppet Master" director David Schmoeller, "Tourist Trap" tied a bow on the 1970's and ushered in the 1980's.

The film itself is cliche by today's standards. Young people go on vacation, start getting picked off by a masked killer, a twist comes along, and so on and so forth. And, to be fair, the twist can be seen coming from miles away, so it's not really a twist. The tone changes from creepy to kooky to basic and bland. The characters are one note and the whole thing could be better.

However, this film does something amazing. Despite being rather generic and tame and poorly made, "Tourist Trap" is real goddamn creepy. The mannequins, the screaming dolls faces, the killer's masks, the dark indoor lighting, the SECOND TWIST! There are rock solid freaky moments in this film...and it has a great ending.

If you want a horror film that gives you the spooky feels on Halloween night and leaves you more creeped out than when it found you, this is definitely for you.

(And, with that, Halloween 2024: 1970's Horror comes to an end.

It was a fun ride. I learned that the 1970's, like every other decade, has something to offer in the horror genre outside it's most well known titles and blockbusters. There are tons of American and Foreign films to choose from. There is a style all it's own to this decade, and that style changes and molds throughout its ten year time-span.

I'm sure there are plenty more gems to find.)

Crowley laid back against the branch he was currently lounging on, continuing to sing softly. Aziraphale was late. Again.

The angel had an annoyingly common habit of showing up late, and considering this had been his idea several hundred years ago, Crowley thought it rather inconsiderate.

Aziraphale had suggested one night back somewhere in the 1500's that they revisit the place in which they'd become cautious acquaintances all those thousands of years ago. For old time's sake.

Technically speaking they weren't exactly allowed in the garden, after the whole Adam and Eve debacle, as well as that nonsense with the flaming sword. However Aziraphale had suggested that, as an Angel, he couldn't really be banished from the most sacred place on earth, and that they were just there to reminisce, nothing devious or anything of the sort. Crowley, delighted by Aziraphale's definitely grey-shaded mischief, and never one to turn down a wicked plan, had promptly agreed.

Therefore, for the sixth time in the last 500 years, Crowley found himself perched on the branch of an apple tree in the centre of the Garden of Eden.

And he was growing steadily more impatient by the minute.

"Crowley? Where are you?" the cautious voice of Aziraphale called out.

Finally.

"Hello... Crowley??" Aziraphale's voice sounded again, closer this time and pitched higher with concern.

Crowley swung his legs over the side and jumped down, landing half a foot in front of Aziraphale, and making him jump just as high.

"Don't be afraid, it's only me," Crowley grinned at the scandalised face of Aziraphale.

"Don't do that Crowley," Aziraphale huffed, breath rather shorter than usual. "You know how I hate to be frightened."

"Oh of course I do Angel," Crowley said, his eyes glinting as he removed his dark glasses. Those eyes, the only permanently serpentine part of him, were always cunning, always up to no good.

"I'm so very sorry I was late," Aziraphale began, accompanied by frantic pacing. "There was a customer in the bookshop who was very persistent, and kept asking all these questions and wanting my best recommendations, oh and! can you believe, they wanted to purchase my original, personally signed copy of Pride and Prejudice. I mean... really?! Have you ever heard such a thing Crowley? Jane hand-delivered that to my door for Heaven's sake, of course it isn't for sale, and then they finally left and I... what?" Aziraphale stopped his pacing as he glanced at Crowley, only to be met with a fond smile he was not the slightest bit accustomed to seeing on the demon's face.

"Oh nothing, carry on," Crowley said, waving a hand and putting his sunglasses back on in a hurry. A not-so-subtle attempt to hide his expression.

"Tell me!"

"It's nothing Aziraphale, continue with your John or Janet or whoever story," Crowley insisted, folding his arms and leaning back against the tree.

"Well now, you know perfectly well it's Jane, and stop trying to distract me," Aziraphale said with a huff. "Now tell me what you were thinking about."

"Oh alright alright!" Crowley pushed off the tree and held his hands up in the air.

Aziraphale waited expectantly.

"It's- it's just that, well, I was, well- I was thinking about that day in the garden. In this garden." Crowley began, and Aziraphale was bewildered at the tightness of his voice.

"Yes?"

"Well just about you... and- and me..."

Oh no. Surely he wasn't doing what Aziraphale thought he was doing. Not here, not right now, he wasn't prepared for this.

"And, well, and, and I- I um- ARGH WHY IS THIS SO HARD?!?"

"What is so hard Crowley??" Aziraphale asked, his own voice now thickening with the onslaught of tears. This was most certainly forbidden, they should not be discussing this. Not now. Not here. Not anywhere, but certainly not in the birthplace of humanity.

"We- we can't..." Aziraphale continued when Crowley didnt speak. "This isn't, we can't, it's not right! I'm an angel, and you're a demon and we can't-"

"I was very lonely till I met you on Sunday," Crowley interrupted, looking through his glasses at Aziraphale.

"You- what? What Sunday?"

"It's a line. From a song. You wouldn't know it, bebop and all that," Crowley said, waving his hand impatiently.

"But I was. Very lonely. Until I met you," he continued haltingly, taking his glasses off again, and looking at Aziraphale, directly into his eyes.

Aziraphale sighed, and covered his face with his hands despairingly. This was forbidden in every book to ever exist in Heaven and Hell, every rule, every warning, they were under no false impressions that a demon and an angel were permitted to fraternise, let alone anything else. And then Aziraphale made his choice.

"Well," Aziraphale began, clasping his hands just below his chin. "I hear the world is supposed to end sometime on a Tuesday, in several billion years," he continued, glancing away and then back at Crowley, trying to disguise the smile that spread across his face.

"Did you- did you just reference my song to me?" Crowley asked, looking inordinately proud. " You did! I thought it was all 'bebop'? What about all your classical rubbish?" he said, smile turning delighted as Aziraphale shuffled and shrugged.

"Well I just thought, couldn't be so bad. If you like it. Though I suppose that would make it just so wouldn't it?" Aziraphale said with a chuckle.

"And you mean that do you?" Crowley asked suddenly, ignoring the joke, desperation coating his voice "What you just said? Do you know what you just said? Because if you don't you better tell me right n-"

"Yes. I know what I said, and I meant what I said. I've always known and I will always mean it, from now until, well, until Tuesday I suppose," Aziraphale grinned, pleased at his joke.

"Oh, shut up," Crowley said, grabbing the collar of Aziraphale's coat and dragging him in, their lips colliding and falling into rhythm with each other. It was like they had been molded at the beginning of time to one day fit together like this. It felt right. Aziraphale sank into the kiss, running his hands across the back of Crowley's jacket and pulling the demon in sharply, drawing him even closer, so close that the two fell back against the sacred tree, breaking apart for a moment of air.

"Maybe I'll stretch it to Wednesday," Crowley grinned, as he tightened his grip on the angel's collar and pulled him back in.
