Me: Ooooo, I wonder what this "Mouthwashing" thing is that everyone's been obsessed with lately. I should check some of it out.
Me, 30 minutes later: I would kill myself for you, Anya.

Day 23 - Discuss Tosh. Opinions? Favorite moment? Least favorite moment? Any unpopular opinions? Any fun headcanons?
tosh my babygirl my princess light of my life angel darling⌠shes so good. shes so good 𼺠i love her dearly. sheâs so damn underutilized i hate how the show regulates her to a supporting role + only uses her for romantic plots. WACK shes so much more than that. i want a plotline about her cyberterrorism like hello??? i want a plotline about her warped little mind.. i want a plotline about her finally learning spanish ;-; that show did not do her justice and it did not deserve her. i often say torchwoodâs characters are too good for the show; tosh is probs the best example of that. no other character gets screwed over as badly as she does by the narrative (not even ianto!) sheâs so tragic and lonely i just wanna give her the biggest hug ever.Â
fav moment⌠every time she smiles. (or smirks. hrgh. tosh call me.) also every time she geeks out about smth. im tryna think of a specific moment but idk if i have one?? i just love her overall i smile every time sheâs on screen sheâs my girlie. when i rewatch i might rmr one though
least favorite moment, the absolute only thing i can think of (hell, my only complaint with her as a character other than i wish sheâd get over owen cuz bad taste queen pls u deserve sm better) - itâs always bothered me how she goes over to owenâs flat in aditd and just starts babbling about her own problems. she even says something like âyou think everythingâs about youâ, and in that ep itâs like ??? why are they all acting like heâs unjustified being miserable and angry when he's fucking dead?? like they're all so unsympathetic and mean, even tosh, and out of her it's especially weird?? tbh it just strikes me as ooc (+ kind of misogynistic highkey) writing. i mean, by all means, let tosh bitch, she deserves to blow off some steam + esp deserves to be rude to owen tbh fhsdkjfsd, but the way itâs done in that particular moment feels ooc and, like, how men write women as talking too much and never listening lmao u kno what i mean (owenâs tuned out in the actual episode but you can see her full ramble in the original script, on page 23). tosh has never troubled anyone with her issues before, why would she choose now to, and when she knows owenâs struggling? yeah, on second thought, i donât hold that against her actually, thatâs ooc to me fhdkf. thts just the writer being a wiener.
my only unpopular opinions (slash hot takes) are that 1) towen fucking SUCKS get her away from him, and 2) most people like tosh but sheâs highkey underappreciated, esp in fanfic, because of fandom racism + misogyny. sheâs not bashed like gwen is but sheâs ignored completely which is nearly as bad, and a lot of itâs cuz she happens to be in a show with two white men in a gay relationship who are overwhelmingly prioritized đ i will never not be petty about the way that ship dwarfs everything else in comparison. also throwing towen into the background of janto is so gross n cheap. if ppl cared abt her they'd do smth more interesting. and it's never well-done either. ugh.
i have a few hcs that are gonna end up in my owento verse (gwen and tosh are prominent characters in it bc i love them, and their relationships w owen and ianto and each other also have value lawl). tbh a lot of em are just things i think they should introduce into their lives to be happier. i want them happy ;-;
she starts coding video games recreationally!! nothing fancy but she rlly enjoys it + also gets into the swing of making little storylines n getting to express herself that way which is good for her. owen playtests shit for her
her and gwen go on spa dates sometimes. they put it on the torchwood credit card
she gets into fish tanks and fish tank care!!! esp like aquarium plants. shrimp and moss balls, that sort of thing. maybe plecos or loaches. she loves it + itâs grounding, which is good for her bc shes otherwise always got her head in her computers yanno. sheâll sit by her tank while she codes her games and the water sounds are calming.Â
she also sits by it while she studies her spanish books which she does finally do. she doesnât get around to the piano, though; doesnât prioritize buying a keyboard. maybe one day (this is a nobody dies au btw so she will in fact eventually get around to it ;-;)
oh sheâs autistic have i said that. the fish tanks absolutely become a spin. she has a few we know of from canon - math and computers, obviously, but also history (gbg) and the ukâs rivers (from gooseberry; i think it was just the uk maybe it was europeâs rivers. or the worldâs! i donât remember). she also loves trivia like she knows a fair amount about quite a lot of things + loves accumulating random info
lowkey also. giving her a kitty. i think tosh should have a lil fuzzy kitty to keep her companyÂ
well this is smth from my owandy verse but i think it should happen anyway. so it kind of kicks off bc gwen mixes up a blind date (it was gonna be tosh & andy and then owen & a friend of hers, but shes an adhd icon n bungles the invites <3)... tosh ends up with gwenâs friend, whoâs straight, but they hit it off and she invites tosh to have drinks or maybe come to a bookclub meet or something with some friends of hers?? point is, tosh makes some casual friends. maybe meets a pretty girl there or smth đď¸ but mainly i want tosh to have girl friends like i think she grew up very lonely i want her to have some normalcy
also sometimes i like tosh x andy maybe they have a little meet cute at a torchwood crime scene or smth fshdkfd. i think theyâd be cute and heâd treat her well. she'd babble abt tech stuff and he wouldnt understand a damn word but he'd listen very intently
i also like tosh x ianto for similar reasons. i think itâd be a kind of friends to lovers sitch... they should just be close in general tbh, platonically or not yanno, and in my owandy verse i like the idea of smth kicking off between them i just think theyd be so sweet
sheâs a very sleepy drunk and also a lightweight. if the team goes out to drink sheâll get two glasses of smth moderately fruity and then fall asleep against someoneâs shoulder itâs very cute (this is just cuz i like the idea of a sleepy tosh 𼺠my baby my baby shes so precious to meee)

the bakarina anime is done! itâs just a drop in the ocean that is the otome isekai genre so these are some recs + what you need to know about them. i just listed most of my favs otherwise itâd be too long :p
in no particular order. includes some non-isekai ones too. needless to say most of these arenât completed yet
my next life as a villainess: all routes lead to doom
using this to plug that thereâs more bakarina content in the form of light novels, manga and 3 spin-offs
an observation record of my fiancee - a self-proclaimed villainess
told in the pov of prince cecil, whose fiancee bertia straight up tells him sheâs a villainess of an otome game from her past life
if you ever wonder what jeord from bakarina might be thinking half the time, this is probably close. cecil is the same kind of prince who initially finds things bored and predictable until they met the mc
the things cecil would get up to for bertia? hoo boy
also the way the mangaka draws hair is addicting to look at
the villainess cecilia silvie doesnât want to die so she decided to crossdress
the title speaks for itself~ after remembering an otome game she played in her past life, cecil (previously cecilia) is now the one capturing the hearts of the academy ladies instead
itâs fairly new so thereâs not much of it yet :c but itâs pretty interesting
the original otome game had a whole rpg combat system going on and iâm hyped to see how itâs gonna lead the story
the Angelique vibes are strong in this one
the villainess wants to marry a commoner
isabella used to play an otome game in a past life, but she was really only interested in a side character named ursch. and then one day she finds him in her mansion garden
her past life self is such a mood - i too have 100% otome games in hopes of side characters getting hidden routes but alas
definitely deserves the âvideo gameâ tag. isabella can see status screens and character stats/skills etc, and all the gacha rewards and grinding transferred over after her reincarnation. sheâs the isekai female protag weâve always wanted
seriously the main ship is too op for their own good aha
deathbound dukeâs daughter
in a past life, erika only managed to finish 2.5/7 scenarios of an otome game thanks to an unlucky encounter with knife-kun. with the different flags of her impending doom approaching, she takes things into her own hands years before the game events start
very fantasy-oriented (the most on this list) and pretty action-packed, once you get past the game exposition in the first 3? chapters
the world building is brilliant, from the hafan mages to the aurelian alchemists, and thereâs beasts and wands and spells and dnd stuff sprinkled in
the cast has quite interesting dynamics and interwoven plotlines, and theyâre all dorky in their way :>
beware of the villainess
melissa remembers a novel from her past life and desperately tries to cut off contact with the male leads, but they still make her life hell & she rages
sheâs just so done with everyone and you canât help but relate to her
definitely the funniest on this list XD melissa and her reactions takes the cake but even the shit characters are hilarious in their own way
thereâs also a lot of parodies to memes etc & best of all, thereâs cussing. all the shits and fucks. a whole lot of it
itâs great
death is the only ending for the villainess
penelope wakes up as the villainess from a game sheâd been playing in her past life, only right now it's on the hardest difficulty where death is literally everywhere. thus she tries, well, not dying
whatâs cool about this is that penelope has access to the original game system. she can see menus, choice options etc. the male leads even have affection percentages floating above their heads :> which is always cool to see (and what iâm a sucker for)
but itâs definitely one of the darker ones on this list. iirc thereâs depictions of violence, abuse, drugs and then some. just a fair warning
the daughter of albert house wishes for ruin
upon realizing that sheâs the villainess from a past-life otome game, mary decides to stay as one. chaos ensues
i love this manga so much, everyone is so quirky and thereâs something to laugh about on almost every page. the story almost feels self-aware of itself and just lets the characters do whatever. like ride bikes
addie is so cute ;o;
itâs definitely something everyone should experience
iâm a villainess daughter so iâm going to keep the last boss
one of the finished ones!
post-annulment, aileen pulls a Lisa Tepes and asks the demon king claude to marry her. he refuses. hijinks ensues
mostly on the fantasy side, as it builds on the world of the monsters
the cast is pretty fun! aileenâs smart, funny and pretty competent in her own right. plus she and claude are positively adorable together
milady just wants to relax
post-annulment, ronia decides to open a cafe in the countryside. it later becomes the frequent hangout of a beastmen mercenary group, who are intensely feared by the townsfolk
well... beastmen. thatâs all you need to know /wink
okay, that aside, itâs just as chill as the title suggests. ronia slowly makes friends she can trust, and the beastmen find a second home in the only cafe thatâs willing to accept them. itâs pretty wholesome
the banished villainess! living the leisurely life of a nun making revolutionary food
despite actively trying to change her âvillainess from a past-life otome gameâ fate since childhood, elizabeth gets annulled, her noble title stripped, and is sent to a church in a neighboring kingdom. she enjoys it more than expected, despite the appearance of the ever watchful leonid
thereâs plenty of 21st-century food like sandwiches, cotton candy leonidâs muscles <3
the entire cast is lovable, and can chris get an f for all the heart attacks leonid keep giving him
seduce the villainâs father
yereninovica (or just yerenica) realizes that sheâs in the world of a novel she read in her past life, but as the aunt of said novelâs mc. after thwarting a kidnapping thatâs basically the mcâs origin story, she takes it upon herself to also prevent the tragic death of emperor belgoat
a bit different since it switches the roles around (side character x side character) and goes into the âparent generationâ of the original work
thereâs also an interesting bit where the world seems to recognize her as a hijacker, and where that takes her, weâll see in due time :o:
plus the way yeni habitually calls him âfatherâ cracks me up every time
transferred to another world but iâm the savior of an otome game
after a ritual gone wrong, âyamada tarouâ (fake name) is stuck in the world of an otome game. the only way back is with a magical ring, normally obtained after becoming the lover of one of the male leads. he of course says no iâm going adventuring but the game doesnât like that
itâs absolutely hilarious - the leads treat our mc like a heroine, and thereâs a lot of otome tropes that are called out on/parodied. like the seiyuusâ names oh my god
tarouâs reactions are great and his appraisal skill is the funniest thing alive
endo and kobayashiâs live commentary on the villainess
in modern japan, endo and kobayashi start their playthrough of an otome game, which becomes a bit glitchy and odd. they discover that siegward, a male lead in the game, can hear what theyâre saying. they use this chance to finally give lisolette a happier ending
much of the storyâs focus is on the characters slowly warming up to lisolette, and a bit on endo/kobayashiâs irl relationship. despite being the primary drive of the story, lisolette herself hardly moves the plot - if you know what i mean
regardless itâs undeniably adorable
tearmoon empire
no isekai, more of time travel? chronoskimming?
mia wakes up 10 years in the past after being sentenced to death. now afraid of guillotine-kun, she strives to solve the issues in her kingdom that had previously led to her doom
a bit similar to bakarina in terms of concept: avoid death flags, unknowingly recruits the people she meets into her little saintess cult. the misinterpretation is very strong, and in brilliantly funny ways
it has really fun narration ngl especially in the light novel
of course, iâll claim palimony!
to prepare for her annulment, yulia starts scheming recording her fianceâs meetups with the heroine to use as evidence. if youâre gonna lose a suitor, might as well get some money out of it, right? along the way she gets involved with rudonik, one of the male leads
no reincarnation. rather than an otome game, the villainess story comes from a book written by a side character, and the âheroineâ just decided to play it out in real life
the cast together is a riot, and itâs entertaining to watch yulia only think in profits and every connection she can make to achieve it
the villainessâ slow prison life began with her broken engagement
no isekai, just a plain old villainess
post-annulment, rachel is sentenced to imprisonment. which she enjoys and is thoroughly, hilariously prepared for
everyoneâs a little afraid of rachel and for good reason. itâs better to find out yourself through the LN or manga, but letâs just say that even the king doesnât want to deal with her XD
the holy grail of eris
now this one is interesting, putting the villainess trope into a mystery ghost story. that said, no isekai either
our innocent heroine constance attends a party and encounters scarlet, an executed villainess from ten years ago. a body possession and some public embarrassment later, they decide to team up to solve the mystery that might be behind scarletâs death
i mean, ghost villainess? sign me up
+ some honorable mentions
i favor the villainess (the heroine goes for the villainess- girls? girls? yes)
a bellicose lady got reincarnated (a delinquent reincarnates as a heroine; what a concept :o unfortunately thereâs not a lot of english content for it yet)
it seems i got reincarnated into a yandere otome game (i like that the mc actively makes it so that game canât ever happen the way it should; plus, yanderes are always interesting to study)
insoâs law (modern isekai, and quite cute!)
the reincarnated young lady aims to be an adventurer / holy guardian tiger (similar to deathbound dukeâs daughter in that thereâs more of a focus on the fantasy aspect)
expecting to fall into ruin, i aim to become a blacksmith (so far the only one with a shounen tag that i like; its main charm is probably the cast and their interactions with each other eliza best girl)
since iâve reincarnated as the villainessâ father iâll shower my wife and daughter with love (big big wholesome vibes)
level 99 villainous daughter (severely op lady who takes no shit from the people looking down at her, and regularly thinks about blowing up the academy within the first 4 chapters? hell yeah)
may i please just ask one last thing? (post-annulment, the mc literally punches everyone in the room; itâs great)
this is getting long now oops

Thereâs just...thereâs just so much I need to know!
Are all the Academy X kids back? DJ? Kidogo? Loa? Wallflower? Blindfold? OMG IS TAG BACK, SHOW ME JULIAN REUNITING WITH HIS BFF, DEAD FOR YEARS AND NOW BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE.
Thereâs just...imagine, an entire class of mutant teenagers who were all tragically killed and now are resurrected into this new world thatâs so different from the one they last saw, like everythingâs changed in the blink of an eye. Whatâs that even LIKE? How do they feel about owing their return and resurrection to one of their own former classmates, whoâs now part of this group of five mutants revered on Krakoa with idol-like status as the ones who like...defeated death for the mutant race? How do all the kids who died on M-Day like Hydro, never even having time to know what happened, feel about learning about the Decimation and why they died in the first place? How do the kids who died on the bus like DJ feel, trying to reconnect with their classmates like Julian and Cessily and Santos who have been through SO MUCH since they last saw them, literally lived through wars and the threat of extinction and are so changed now by experiences they canât ever (hopefully wonât ever) be able to relate to?
Is Jay Guthrie back? Whatâs it like for Sam and Paige and the rest of their siblings to suddenly have him back? What does Sooraya feel about this? How do she and Jay interact now? How does the every mutant is automatically a citizen of Krakoa thing work....all the Guthrie kids are mutants, but their mom Lucinda isnât...is she allowed to come and go, according to Krakoa law? There must be exceptions made for some humans to live on Krakoa, surely, given that Corsair is part of one of the Dawn of X line-ups....who makes the distinction and how?
Speaking of the Summers, whatâs up with Gabeâs resurrection? How does that work? Does he remember everything, and his past crimes are forgiven on the basis of the amnesty law, so long as he plays nice? Or did Xavier take advantage of being the man who puts all the mutant minds back in their shiny new bodies and conveniently rearrange a few memories regarding why Gabe hates him so much, and now Gabe gets along with everyone just fine?
OMG ARE PETRA AND SWAY BACK AND IF NOT WHY NOT.
What about Kevin Ford aka Wither? Selene was one of the mutant villains granted amnesty when she came to Krakoa, does that mean her former pawns are granted the same resurrection treatment as any other mutant, and if so, how does Kevin feel about being resurrected by Josh....the very person who killed him in the first place?
Oooh, and Clarice....not to mention Jono. Whatâs it like for some of the more heroic descendants of Clan Akkaba to now be living on the same island as their long distant villainous ancestor, Apocalypse himself?
Speaking of Apocalypse, anyone else catch that bit of gossip from Bar Sinister about how gladly Apocalypse would trade in any of his later Horsemen for his original four....with Hickman having made a big deal about alluding to some long ago war Apocalypse and his original Horsemen waged on Krakoa against some other dimensional foes.....with those Horsemen dying or imprisoning themselves to stop them? Who wants to bet that was to set up a storyline where like, maybe part of Apocalypseâs conditions for working with Xavier and Magneto on all of this was to have his original Horsemen resurrected as well somehow? Like SOMETHINGâS going to happen there.
Oooh ooh ooh......what about the fact that ALL OF LOGANâS 13378427842 dead mutant children are now potentially alive again? CLAN SNIKT? ADRIAN CORBO? WONâT SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF JIMMY?
And and and and and they better fucking bring back Chris Bradley and I will literally pledge my firstborn if somebody writes in a scene where Bobby Drake gets to see his little buddy alive and well again, sans Legacy Virus. Look, it doesnât matter that Iâm probably never going to have a firstborn, its the thought that counts, shh, its allowed.
What about Magnetoâs original Acolytes, the ones who died when Asteroid M crashed? Chrome, Delgado and Anne-Marie, etc? What might their reactions be upon say, running into Traitor McBetrayal, Fabian Cortez?
IS SIENA BLAZE BACK OMG PLZ LET SIENA BE BACK I WILL....crap, already pledged my firstborn. Ugh, second is the best?
SPEAKING OF....I forget what launched this tangential thought but Mikhail Rasputin anyone? HIS BABY SISTER IS ONE OF THE FOUR WAR CAPTAINS OF KRAKOA, LIKE...TALK ABOUT *SCREEECH* WAIT, SAY WHAT? REVELATIONS TO WAKE UP TO.
Just how long are they gonna tease the whole âno but really thereâs ANOTHER Summers brotherâ plotline this time?
OMG are Emplate, the M twins and Monet all supposed to play happy family in a shared environment, holy shit could you imagine the epic staredowns everytime Marius and Monet run into each other in like Krakoaâs town square or the market or something and Jubilee just stage whispers âAwkwaaaaard.â
Holy shit, how are Ev and Angelo going to react to coming back to life and discovering that Jubes is now a MOM???
What about depowered mutants we havenât seen get their powers back yet, are they all repowered now thanks to Hope? Is Dallas Gibson on Krakoa, shadow powers intact? What about Shola and Freakshow and Wicked, aka the only interesting characters Claremont has invented in 30 years, no, Lifeguard and Slipstream DO NOT COUNT.
WHAT DOES ALL OF THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE RETURN OF THE 2099 UNIVERSE IN A COUPLE MONTHS, LIKE HOW ARE THE X-MEN 2099 and X-NATION GONNA LINE UP WITH ALL OF THIS?
And will we get Twilight and Clarion and December back, and finally some kind of answer on whether December is a descendant of Bobby or Emma or both?
Is Leon Nunez, the REAL mutant behind Inkâs powers, a resident of Krakoa because the amnesty law got him out of jail and did he take the power back from that LOSER and did Ink get his stupid ass kicked to the curb because everyone was like lol nobody even likes you and youâre not even a mutant, go be an Avenger ITS WHERE YOU BELONG?
Probably not, but look a guy can dream.
Whatâs St. John gonna think about this new twink running around using his name, HEâS the only real flamer in town! Or is he just not gonna care, and retire to spend his time resuming his career as a romance novelist? (THIS IS CANON, I DID NOT MAKE THIS UP).
Most importantly, WHAT THE HELL IS THE PREMISE OF THE MARAUDERS BOOK AND WILL I LIKE IT AND WILL BOBBY BE WRITTEN WELL AND SINCE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE HELLFIRE CLUB AND EMMAâS A KEY PART OF THE BOOK WILL WE GET CHRISTIAN THERE TOO AND WITH SIMON AS PART OF THE MARAUDERS LINEUP WILL I FINALLY GET THE CHRISTIAN/BOBBY/FIRE-GUY-EVEN-IF-SIMON-IS-A-SUBPAR-SUBSTITUTE-FOR-JOHNNY LOVE TRIANGLE I NEED AND DESERVE?
OMG and Dakenâs on Krakoa too, oh shit, is Bobby gonna finally get to be the hot girl? So many gays, so little time...whoops, Bobby can make clones of himself too.....oh shit did I make it weird, WHO CARES, BOBBY HAS POTENTIAL LOVE INTERESTS NOW, PLURAL, NOT SINGULAR, HUZZAAAAAAAAH.
And also all the other stuff is still interesting too. But like. Bobby boyfriend. Make it happen.

Another Set of Updates
Okay, gonna try to keep this as brief as possible!
My poll regarding which Kidge-a-Palooza AU I should turn into a story proper is still available: [here]. Iâm gonna leave it up for another week or so, so please give it a vote if you havenât already!
Chapter 4 of Here (In Your Arms) is up and available: [here].
Chapter 2 of Paint me in Trust is up and available: [here].
Chapter 2(6) of Time, Space and Everything Between is up and available: [here].
Since the update for Time, Space and Everything Between is up, I wanted to clarify a few things about where itâll be going from hence forth. That information (spoiler free) can be found below for those that are interested.
Okay, so, confession time! This fic wasnât supposed to become what it is now. Originally, I planned for this fic to be about six/ seven chapters and go in a somewhat different direction than it has. There was going to be an entire chapter dedicated just to the Kogane and Holt families bonding. The rescue of Shiro was going to go almost the same as it did in the series canon, with Keith being kept on Earth with his father using his camouflage device and entering the Garrison in hopes of snuffing out who the Blue Paladin was. The only big changes to it that I intended to make was Keith and Pidge knowing each other prior, Keith actually being a Galra, and when they head back to the shack, theyâre greeted by Papa Kogane. From there, I was planning to end the fic with them going through the wormhole and implying events played out mostly the same as canon. But, then I decided I didnât really like that idea either, so then I thought Iâd go the route of letting Keith grow up with the Holtâs. Like, Ethan moving out there and Krolia leaving Keith on Earth to have a tradional human childhood.
As you can see, I didnât end up doing any of that. And you may be wondering why.
Because the last season of Voltron left me that disappointed but I will admit I had issues with the show even before that Spit-in-the-Face ending but weâll get there and I was raised by parents who said âIf you donât know how youâd improve something, you shouldnât be the one to complain about it.â
Well, fine then. Iâm gonna do just that.
ALSO I WANT TO CLARIFY that I am NOT saying I could have written the show better than the show runners themselves! Iâve never been in the position(s) they were in. I do, however, have the benefit of hindsight, which allows me to look at where the show succeeded and failed respectively, and take steps that I think would offer a more cohesive, enjoyable story-telling experience as a whole. I am taking the things that I, personally, took issue with, as well as some of the bigger things Iâve seen the fandom at large take issue with. At the end of the day, though, most of these decisions will be made from my own personal desires/ whims (since, you know, ship-feels and all that jazz). I will, however, be open to criticism from any and all who read my fics, so please feel free to tell me what you think does or doesnât work as we go along.
Iâm gonna break this down into four main categories down below; Things Iâm Adding, Things Iâm Cutting, Things Iâm Adjusting, and Cut Fic Content. All but one of these is pretty self-explanatory, I think, but I promise to explain that little oddity when we get there. Iâll also touch on what and why I chose to approach certain things the way that I did.
Things Iâm Adding
Melenor and Garett
Queen Melenor is kind of an anomaly in the series, donât you think? It was kind of implied throughout most of the series proper that she died while Allura was still pretty young, which would have made a lot more sense for both Alluraâs relationship with Alfor, as well as why Alfor was so distant from Zarkon when Daibazaal began tattering at the seams. But then Season 8 happened and threw all that out the window! All of a sudden, Melenorâs death suddenly carries this great significance for Allura, to the point she has a hallucination about her. Plus, it also kinda throws a wrench into scenes from the earlier seasons. Allura specifically says âZarkon killed my Father and my Mother!â but⌠If Melenor was killed by Zarkon, where was she during the fall of Altea? Why wasnât she with her daughter and husband in the final moments? And it makes even less sense when you look at that first scene where Allura and Coran were introduced. There were eight pods there. You mean to tell me Alfor didnât think it might be a good idea to save an extra body or two to help guide Allura as she steps into the role she will have to take once heâs gone? Or even to help with maintaining/ rebuilding the Castle of Lions?
So, Iâve decided to add Melenor as a way to give some more characterization to not only she herself as a character, but also Alfor. Plus, I decided to make use of Garett (whose name I spell differently for reasons), Coranâs son from the original series, too. I think itâd be more fun to have an extra set of hands on board to help maintain the Castle of Lions and teach the Paladins, but maybe closer to their age range. So, weâll see how things go with adding him to the roster. :3
Backstory for the Blades
This was something that we should have gotten a little bit of exposition on, considering how inflated their importance got. Like, the Blade became instrumental to the functionality of both Voltron and the Rebels due to their intelligence gathering. I think itâd have been kind of cool to see where it all started and what events in specific triggered it into becoming.
More Focus on Team Relationships
I didnât really feel like the big victory against Zarkon was earned at the end of Season 2. I also didnât think the team really earned any of their bigger victories, such as against Lotor and Honerva. They never felt like a real team that meshed because they just kinda stuck the same pairs/ clicks together. This was my biggest issue throughout most of the show and I really want to explore the dynamics we never really got to see. There are a few standout relationships that definitely needed some retooling, but Iâll mention those farther down.Â
More Alien Worlds
Sci-fi and Fantasy are my big genres because I. Fudgin. Love seeing the designs for different technology, worlds and races. And while we did get some interesting ones with the series proper - which Iâll be mostly still including - I wish weâd gotten to see more. So, because I have no self-control, Iâll be planning to do that here!
Shiroâs Love Life
Shiro deserved better. I feel like thatâs kind of something that most of the fandom can agree on. I donât say this from a place of hate for Curtis, though, because⌠Well, what is there to hate? He was a literal background character who did nothing, said maybe two lines of dialogue, and that was it. Considering how much they pushed Shiro being the rep for the LGBT+ crowd, they did literally nothing with his love life. Hell, Adam was only revealed as his fiance because Bex fought tooth and nail for them to say it! If they hadnât pushed the way they did, it would have all been subtext.
So, Shiro is going to have a romantic side plot in this fic, where weâll focus on him and the character Iâve picked to be his partner.
Minor Side Romances
Some other little side pairings are gonna get a bit of love, here, too, since Voltron really only did the romance side of things well with, like, two couples. All the main couples are also gonna get plenty of spotlight, but I also think it would be fun to do some smaller side ships every now and then, too.
Things Iâm Cutting
Villain Roulette
There was way too much jumping back and forth between who our main villain to focus on was. Bam, itâs Zarkon! No, wait, now itâs Lotor! Just kidding, here comes Zarkon again! Except that it was actually Lotor! Or so you thought; itâs actually Honerva haha great prank amiright? It was exhausting and I think itâd be a lot simpler to just⌠Stick with one villain who controls the smaller monster-of-the-day bad guys for an extended period of time and, once theyâre for reals defeated, then move on to the next. Iâll be taking this approach for the sake of not only having a more focused story, but also my own sanity. Iâve never been good at gambling so trying the same thing as the show would probably turn out even worse for me.
Keithâs Excellent Blade Adventure with His Mommy
This is all unnecessary in this story, so we wonât be doing it at all. Keithâs sorry purple tail is staying with Team Voltron; no buts, no fuss, no coconuts.
Shiroâs Illness and Adamâs Death
Adamâs death is something I could go on about for hours specifically because it seemed unfair and kinda petty. Like, I feel they killed him specifically because they couldnât kill Shiro, and they wanted to amp up the Tragic Backstory for our prior leader. So, instead, thatâs getting the boot, as well as Shiroâs illness, since itâs also unneeded for plot convenience. Plus, it could have been nice to have a character that was willing to call Shiro out on the Atlus. Shiro always got treated like some kind of flawless entity, and I think itâd been nice to have someone call that Nice Guy Schtick out.
Allura and the Entity Plotline
This whole thing made no sense, got no proper development because of how late into the game they introduced it, and ended up being nothing more than a tool for them to kill Allura off. So, that can GTFO of my house post haste.
The Ending as a Whole
Some parts of the ending worked, but most of it just sucked. When the ending is so bad that it makes me feel obligated to stan characters I was ambivalent/ outright disliked? Yeah, gonna need to walk that back a bit.
Most of Seasons 3-6
The pacing in these seasons really was terrible. We derailed working on the team dynamic, building up the Coalition and Rebel forces, and developing the Paladinsâ characters to instead focus on all that shit with Lotor. That⌠Was infuriating. Especially considering it was all basically a waste.
Additionally, we had Keith sidelined and his arc - which was clearly going to be center around him learning how to be a leader - completely pushed aside and then treated as if it did happened when he showed up late with Starbucks at the end of Season 6. That felt really unbelievable to me.
Time Skips
There were way too many time skips, for serious. Especially when those time skips didnât include any kind of change in development/ character for the team. Thereâll be smaller time skips, but nothing as egregious as what we got in seasons 6 and 7.
Things Iâm Adjusting                                                             Â
Lion Swap
Thisâll still be happening, but the circumstances that trigger it will be different. I may also shift around who gets to take which Lion when we get to that point. I havenât decided just yet, but Iâll have it figured out before we reach that point. Most of this fic is already planned out and, honestly, the Lion Swap will be finalized once I figure out what Iâm doing with a few of the other characters.
Shiro and Keithâs Relationship
This, right here? This was one of my biggest issues with Voltron. Keith was completely codependent on Shiro, while Shiro clearly cared about Keithâs well-being but it always felt like heâd have been just fine if something similar to what happened to him happened to Keith. Itâs just⌠Really gross to me. It doesnât help that I also find the whole âDying for Your Loverâ Trope â which Iâve seen a lot of people praise The Black Paladins for implying - to be incredibly disgusting and unhealthy. Also Keithâs flagrant hypocrisy never getting called out bothers me a lot since I actually like when a character behaves in a hypocritical manner, since it feels organic, but it has to be called out because hypocrisy can lead to double-standards and create harmful environments and I need to stop for now
So, Keith and Shiro are still going to be close, but they arenât going to be that close.
Keith and Alluraâs Relationship
Oh, look! Another potentially interesting aspect of the show that they kinda dropped the ball on! I really hated Alluraâs heel-turn on Keith when itâs revealed that heâs Galra in S2 because a) Itâs not like Keith himself knew this and was actively hiding it, and b) It felt out of character for the way Allura had been presented thus far. Her lashing out at Zarkon when she was captured made sense since he directly killed her father, her people and her planet. And I could understand being wary of the Blades â to the extent that she was in the first half â but after Keithâs heritage is revealed, sheâs completely cold to him and only seems to decide heâs a good guy when heâs willing to take on a potential suicide mission! They either needed to drag the animosity out and show it effecting Alluraâs ability to work with the team as a whole and also show the team sticking up for Keith because the fact that Hunk was the only one that said anything is kinda messed up like where tf was Shiro if he and Keith are oh so close? or they needed to tone Alluraâs attitude towards him back a bit more, have her approach him in a manner similar to how she addressed the Blade members; acknowledging he is there and contributing, but not praising or thanking him outright.
And since Keith presents and knows heâs part Galra from the start in this fic? Well, weâll actually get to play around with that dynamic a little more. And while Iâm on the subject of our favorite Altean princessâŚ
Alluraâs Character Inconsistencies
Alluraâs character jumped around a lot in some of the earlier seasons and Iâd be willing to wager that this is because the writers never settled on an age for her. And I donât mean during the big changes like her becoming a Paladin or Lotorâs betrayal, since itâd make sense she be shaken by situations that drastic. One minute, sheâs this composed, confident and well-spoken young leader doing the best she can. The next, sheâs a more temperamental sort who has low self-esteem/ confidence in her own abilities to even successfully contribute to a team. Now, I think I kniw what they were trying to do; they were trying to show that the more impulsive side of her is more genuine while the composed side is her trying to be the leader she is expected to be. I get it. They fixed this and improved on it later down the line, but they could have done better by maybe addressing it and using it as a chance to develop her relationship with another member or two of Team Voltron.
Season 2âs Ending
The defeat of Zarkon happened way too soon. Especially since then, because they wanted to play around with Lotorâs intentions, they had to bring him back as a cyborg-zombie fueled by quintessence. Zarkon should have only been defeated once and then we should have been allowed to move on to the next main villain. As such, Iâm moving Zarkonâs defeat further down the line and will be modifying some of the consequences there in.
P Much Everything About Lotorâs Acr/ Motives
Lotor⌠Man, Lotor was confusing and a lot of wasted potential. They painted him as if they wanted him to be a morally grey villain, where he does terrible things for what he considers the betterment of others, but then, once itâs revealed that he was keeping secrets, he just⌠Goes full ham. He becomes Evil McAwful incarnate and it felt unrealistic. There were about 20 different directions they could have taken Lotor â before and after the reveal â and I just didnât care for the approach they took. So, Iâll be doing things a little different and seeing how that goes.
What Iâm Keeping from Seasons 3-6
Very, very little things are going to be kept from each of the aforementioned seasons and implemented in the fic. Iâm not planning to keep too many of the big plot moments because they all bled into the issues I had with the story as it stood on its own. I will, however, take some of the small things from those three seasons and include them here. This also applies to certain elements from the other seasons as well, but weâll get there when we get there.
Adopting Kosmo
Kosmo will be in this fic, come Hell or high water. He is the Best Boi and deserves to be here.
Cut Fic Content
Okay, so hereâs the weird one in this line up! As the title implies, thereâs some content that I have cut from the fic, even this early on. I actually have some of the Kogane-Holt bonding scenes still drafted up somewhere in my files. I removed them because I was worried that theyâd feel too much like filler. Thereâs also some scenes I started to work out from when I planned to have Keith grow up with Pidge and Matt; specifically including a scene where Krolia and Ethan talk about the idea and decide to commit.
Some of these ideas wonât work in the fic as it stands now, though. I also, however, like the idea of putting it out for everyone to read. So, Iâm debating on making a separate one-shot collection of things that could have happened, or just adding them as the occasional buffer between the arcs of the story. Iâll make a poll when I get closer to the point of deciding how to proceed, so keep an eye out for that. :3
Thatâs all for now! I hope you all enjoy the updates and Iâll hopefully be updating again sooner than this time!
#crumbles grumbles#info dump about my fics#I was planning to hold off on updating until I responded to all my current comments#But I was way too excited about having these ready to go!

Game of Thrones - final thoughts
Ok, so, I've seen the series finale.
As you all know, I've been incredibly critical of the show's writing towards the end of this season. It felt like storylines (such as Dany torching King's Landing) were popping up from nowhere with no build-up for the sake of "lolol shock factor", and it left an incredibly bitter taste in the mouth. Especially as a Dany stan, seeing my fave thrown under the bus was immensely frustrating.
I had read the leaks and went into the episode with trepidation.
Honestly? I'm utterly heartbroken by Dany's fate, let's just get the obvious point out of the way now. Drogon's reaction in particular ripped my heart out (I legit can't think about it without tearing up). I said a long time ago, while watching the early seasons, that the Iron Throne would get melted by dragonfire - it was made by dragonfire, so to destroy it in the same way would feel poetic. And that's exactly what happened.
Dany always wanted to "break the wheel". Now, the destruction of the throne, and the eventual election of a King, was exactly that. In the end, she actually succeeded in her goal - but she had to give her life in order for it to happen. That's absolutely tragic and a heartbreaking end to a phenomenal character.
My issue here is that, again, there was no build-up to this. I adore villains and would have been 100% on board with this plotline, had the character development been in place for it. I imagine the books will deliver this twist with the emotional hit that it deserves, but D&D's desire to drop the series so quickly really spoilt it. To me, the resolution to her story DOES make some sense (making her a tragic hero) - but the means of getting there was far too rushed and, in turn, made the delivery of the plot twist feel like character assassination. I said it before and will absolutely stand by that. Dany and her story deserved better than two writers obsessed with Shock Factor.
I thought the second half of the episode was nice. I'm not a fan of Sansa so I'm gutted that she took all the glory for doing so little lol - but then, perhaps that's what the game is all about. Those who fight for power don't get it, but those who don't (in this case, Bran and Sansa) will end up with it.
Jon finally petted Ghost, so there's that đ
I'm glad the "all male council" thing from the leaks was fake - hell yes Brienne, I'm so glad she was there. Her writing about Jaime in the book was super sad, he didn't deserve it after he did the dirty on her, but she really did love him :(
I was really upset that Drogon got mentioned at the council meeting but we didn't see him again. He was a good boi and I love him. I hope he's out there living a nice life with dragon babies or something ;-;
Arya's story resolution was one that I can get behind. She's always wanted to go "west of Westeros", she's never wanted to settle down and be a Lady, so I'm happy for her.
Bran as the King was something I wouldn't have predicted, but it does seem logical. Again, it all felt rather rushed and out of nowhere, but eventually we'll get to read the story as GRRM intended it to play out. I'm glad Tyrion survived to be Hand of the King because he's been a very interesting character throughout (even if he's also been the victim of questionable writing in this season) and a big fave of mine.
All in all? A great resolution to one of the best stories ever written, which was let down by rushed writing that made the whole thing feel sloppy and forced at times. If only D&D had committed to 10 episodes like HBO wanted...

So in honor of the Fruits Basket reboot who would you say are your fave Furuba characters and ships (canon) and why? Least fave Furuba characters and canon ships and why?
Ohhhhh my god I love you so much for asking me this. I could talk for hours. OKAY. Iâm going to limit myself to 3 per category so that I donât list literally everyone.Â
Warning: this will contain spoilers for the manga. It will also be long.Â
Favorite characters (in no particular order):
- Momiji! I love Momiji so much. Heâs a complex character, yâknow? Let me tell you, when I first read this series as an angsty preteen, I did not appreciate Momiji nearly enough. All the characters in Fruits Basket have a tragic story, to some extent, and they all handle it in different ways. And Momiji is so unexpected. Heâs this sweet, enthusiastic, seemingly naive kid, and you find out that his story is so sad. And he could hate his mom. No one would blame him, heâs still just a kid, and she was cruel. But he chooses to treat her with understanding and kindness, like she didnât do for him. But itâs more than that. Heâs also remarkably strong. Heâs one of the only characters to ever really stand up to Akito, which we know from Kureno, from Yuki, from Hiro, is damn near impossible for the members of the Zodiac to do. He gets hurt trying to protect Tohru. When (spoiler) his curse breaks, he doesnât give in to Akitoâs pleading. Heâs so brave, and so gentle, and has such surprising depth. Itâs easy to not take him seriously, but thatâs such a mistake.Â
- Shigure. Okay, maybe this one is controversial. But listen, this is a list of my favorite characters, not the characters I think are the best people. Shigure is... not a good person. Heâs not exactly a bad person either. Heâs... interesting. One of the things I love about the series is how it subverts expectations for how certain characters should be, given their animals (see: Kisa and Hiro.) You might expect the dog to be loyal and funny and excitable. Which Shigure is... Kind of? Heâs manipulative, and heâs selfish, and heâs morally ambiguous. His motivations are unclear. Does he want the curse broken? Does he just hate Kureno? Does he really care about Yuki, about Tohru, about Kyo? Whatâs his game here? Itâs all hard to say. And I find him so, so compelling as a character.Â
- Tohru. My girl is amazing. Sheâs so nice that itâs her main character flaw. Thatâs incredible. Her character development is so good. The moments where she actually stands up to people are cathartic as hell. Sheâs selfless to the point of being self destructive, she refuses to ask for help, and she tries so hard to be kind to people, even if theyâre straight up assholes to her (see: her trying to befriend Akito). She lets people project all kinds of emotional needs onto her, even when she has no business making herself responsible for their well-being. Sheâs a remarkable person, and sheâs so forgiving, and I love her.Â
(Other characters Iâd love to gush about include but are not limited to: Kureno, Akito, Hatsuharu, Saki, Arisa, Hatori, Yuki, Kyo.)
Favorite canon ships:
- Kyo/Tohru. The progression! The character development! The absolute immense obliviousness that both of them somehow have, right up until the very end!! Itâs everything I love in a ship. But honestly, itâs something Yuki points out that really makes this one of my favorites. Kyo was the only one to really see Tohru as like, a person. As a real girl. And Tohru is kind of the only one to see Kyo as a real person, too. Letâs be honest, no one else ever truly had a chance with either one of them. In the end, it was always going to be Kyo and Tohru. Itâs hard to explain exactly what makes their relationship so great, because if I tried, Iâd just be citing the whole series.Â
- Yuki/Machi. Theyâre so good for each other. Theyâve got matching emotional baggage. Similar to how Tohru needed someone who saw her as a real person, both Yuki and Machi needed that, too. I was honestly skeptical of anyone with Yuki, but I think that they work. (Though I wouldnât have complained if heâd ended up with Manabe, either.) And I think that the fact that Yuki was literal seconds away from telling Machi about the curse... Oh, that so makes me want to cry. Yuki was so afraid of rejection. He was so afraid of people knowing the truth. (see: âTheyâd hate you.â from the original anime) But Machi was that important to him.Â
- Kureno/Arisa. My boy deserves to be happy, okay? Heâs so good. He gave up his life when he was still a teenager because a child begged him not to leave her, and he couldnât say no. Heâs so kind and selfless and sad. And Arisa deserves to be happy, too. Sheâs had a rough time, and she needs someone like him. Theyâve got a good balance.Â
(Honorable mention: Ritsu and Mitsuru? Thatâs hilarious.)
Least favorites are going to be harder. Iâm not going to do cop-out answers like Kyoâs dad or Yukiâs mom--too easy. Of course I hate those characters, that takes no explanation. So letâs try:
Least favorite (potentially likable) characters:
- Kagura. Iâm year of the boar, so I wish I liked Kagura. I tried to. But the way she treats Kyo is upsetting in a number of ways. There are, of course, the obvious ways--sheâs pushy, sheâs violent, she always plays the victim. But what hurts most about their relationship, to me, is why they were friends in the first place. Kagura pitied him, and she (like other members of the Zodiac) just wanted to have someone to point to that was worse off than her. Kyo is their scapegoat. And he was a lonely kid. It was easy for Kagura to use him like that. She was selfish and she continued to be. And Kyo deserved many apologies (from many people) that he didnât get.Â
- Hiro. I can cut him some slack since heâs, yâknow, twelve. But god, what an asshole. Yeah, yeah, heâs a kid, but heâs mean. I get heâs jealous, and he has emotions he doesnât understand, and he just doesnât know how to deal, but listen, none of that is Tohruâs fault. And frankly, kid, if you really cared about Kisa, youâd want to learn how to be nicer. No one can read your mind, dude.Â
- Ritsu. Iâm sorry. Itâs not Ritsuâs fault. I canât hold him accountable, really. Heâs not a bad person, and I understand that heâs trying his best, but, uh. I find him annoying. Mostly that scene where heâs like, on the roof, lamenting about how everyone would be better of without him... Bro, get down from there. I wish heâd learn to calm down. (I also wish heâd been genuinely, canonically a trans woman or nonbinary, but here we are.)
(Obvious ones are: Kyoâs dad, Yukiâs mom, Momijiâs parents, Rinâs parents, Tohruâs relatives, Ren, The Yuki Fan Club Girls.)
Least favorite canon ships:
- Kisa/Hiro. Okay, hereâs the thing. Theyâre kids. More than anything, they both need friends. Not a romantic relationship. In my opinion, I think they shouldâve been close friends for that whole plotline. Akito still couldâve gotten possessive and angry and hated how close they were. It wouldnât have had to change much. I just canât see them lasting through adolescence. Neither of them are ready for a romantic relationship. (And letâs be real, is Hiro ever going to be ready? Kid needs to chill.)Â
- Kazuma/Saki. What the fuck, man. S t o p. No. No part of this. I want none of this. Put it back. Get it away from me.Â
- Ayame/Mine. Bro, Ayame is gay. Let him be gay, alright? Haru is bi, Aya is gay, let us have this. Please.Â
#there's honestly so much more i could say#fruits basket#fruits basket spoilers#momiji sohma#shigure sohma#tohru honda#maybe i shouldn't tag everyone i mention#anyway i love this series#thank you for giving me a chance to talk about it#people in real life have stopped letting me#Anonymous

I canât stop thinking about that terrible movie, The Christmas Wedding Planner. It doesnât deserve 1/10th of the mental energy Iâm giving it and yet here we are.
The main problem is that just a few tweaks could have made it a decent film and that the things that were wrong with it were just so wrong. So Iâm making two lists. The first is its greatest atrocities. The second is what Iâd tweak to turn it into something watchable, even good.
The premise: Kelsey is a rookie wedding planner, about to get her big break with her rich cousin Emilyâs wedding to the oh so charming, Todd. Then she bumps into Connor, Emilyâs ex, a private investigator mysteriously charged with investigating Todd. He wants to recruit Kelsey to help him with his investigation. She wants him to piss off. Sparks fly while my suspension of disbelief remains firmly rooted to the ground.
This post will contain spoilers. I really wouldnât bother caring. Buckle yourself in - weâre going for a very inane ride!
Problems
The leads have no chemistry at all. This is obviously a problem. Buying a romance and attraction between them was just impossible. Their first kiss was meant to be awkward but, my god, surely not THAT awkward!Â
This lack of chemistry was added to a flat script that clearly was trying to present Kelsey and Connor as a sparring love-hate dynamic who grow to appreciate each other and eventually come to realise that their connection is really deep as they share the same values. But, uh, that may have been the intention but not the story that came across on the screen. Which was just two people who irritated each other suddenly and for no reason getting upset about how the other was behaving after knowing each other for about three days and then...
THEY GOT FLIPPING MARRIED. I mean. WHAT. Theyâve kissed twice. They know basically nothing about each other. Half an hour previously she thought he was a villain. This isnât romantic, this is INSANE. I give them till the end of the honeymoon.
Sheâs called Kelsey. Like, thatâs not a name. Itâs just a random word. (This is petty as hell, but still.)
Kelsey has a âtragic backstoryâ where her mum died and sheâs narrating her life in text messages to her mum which are text message overlays of exposition in case the viewer is finding the plot too complex to follow. I have no idea why this exists. It goes nowhere.
A romantic comedy ends with Emily, described as the most perfectly lovely and sweet person, discovering at the altar that her almost-husband was cheating on her and got a maid pregnant and then dumping him. And then she watches her wedding planner get married to her ex-boyfriend who she barely knows. I donât particularly care about Kelsey and Connor but Iâm very, very concerned about Emily! Make your beta couple happy, you cowards!
Todd was cheating with the maid. Wow, what a radical secret. And then Emily just doesnât even talk about it. She just accepts the wedding is off and wants to plan a girls trip away instead. She was going to MARRY this guy. Doesnât she want to IDK hear his side of the story? Why so quick to believe the worst? I mean, wow, clearly she shouldnât be marrying this guy if she doesnât care, but sheâs meant to be intelligent as well as beautiful!
So basically none of the characterisation makes sense. In that there basically isnât any. Just plot points that apparently have to be hit. Like, Aunt Olivia is a bitchy Rich White Woman (tm) half the time and a caring, mother-figure the other half. I was getting whiplash keeping up with her 180 degree character changes.
Connor isnât even vaguely attractive. Physically or emotionally. Thatâs kind of a problem in a romance film. (I mean, YMMV with the physical aspect but, eurgh really.) Heâs as charismatic as a block of wood. Sheâs... eh. Sheâs a generic Hallmark movie protagonist.
The way these characters dress and look. Itâs so... 90s? I donât mean that exactly. I mean, everyone looks the same and itâs a kind of glossy Clueless vibe. The women are all in tailored mini dresses and with long waves of hair. The men wear slacks and a shirt and have a bit of stubble. They all live in massive mansions or cute apartments that are all spotlessly clean and neat. They literally look like Barbie dolls except even my dollhouse was more realistically lived in than any of these sets. Itâs such a weird aesthetic. And it makes no sense for the demographic these people supposedly belong to.
Perfect, sweet Jane Bennet Emily has three caricatured bridesmaids who are horrible. Why? Why are bridesmaids always jealous, miserable bitches? WHERE ARE HER ACTUAL FRIENDS? Speaking of, who even has weddings like this? What is the deal? Who WANTS this kind of wedding? Who behaves like this about their wedding or their childâs wedding? Iâm so confused. If this is some kind of fantasy, I wonder whose it is, because everything about it is horrible. Which brings me back to this all feeling very dated in its aesthetic and early 2000s obsession with skinny women getting carried away with designer weddings in romcoms written by men. IDEK. This is 2018 and we have Set It Up and To All The Boys Iâve Loved Before. This kind of film just doesnât belong any more.
So thatâs quite enough issues. Letâs try to solve a few and make this a better film.
Most of the problems could be solved by making the lead couple appealing. Cast different actors and write the script that they think they already have. If you can actually buy the narrative of two people who have more in common than they think growing closer from antagonists to partners, then the ridiculous ending where they decide to just get married could potentially work. POTENTIALLY. If they had more lingering looks that were genuinely hot, their awkward kiss melted into something real, their interactions sizzled with wit and suppressed passion then... yeah. Maybe then the spontaneous decision at the end would make you think, âActually, yes, itâs mad but LOOK AT THOSE TWO CRAZY KIDS!â
Work on characterisation. So Kelseyâs deal is sheâs concentrating on managing other peopleâs happiness instead of concentrating on her own because she canât let go after her motherâs death. This is kind of heavy for a romcom. Letâs scrap the dead mother altogether. Make Emily her actual sister instead of the cousin who is like a sister and make Aunt Olivia her mum. Streamlines everything. This is better. So Emily is the perfect daughter who is beautiful and sweet and having the perfect wedding and Kelsey is the younger daughter who is determined to make her way in the world without the family money. This causes friction because she thinks her mum favours Emily and her determination leads her to believe that if she gets involved in a serious relationship which would please her mother then she is compromising her desire to be independent. Cue touching moment near the end when her mother admits sheâs got it all wrong and she admires Kelseyâs entrepreneurial spirit and reveals that itâs possible to have a career AND a relationship. None of this is rocket science or even that interesting but Iâm trying to make this a better Hallmark movie, not Citizen Kane.
Connorâs turn. Good grief, get a better actor for a start. And the entire plot here needs to change now. Because the PI bit is good but being hired by Aunt Olivia because Todd is cheating is just... so BORING. So before we can improve Connor we need to work on what heâs there to do.
Time to look at the actual plot. Wedding planner forced to work against her will with PI to investigate the wedding sheâs planning is a genuinely cool concept. We have a bunch of tropes here: spies! we had to kiss for cover! love to hate! fake dating! All of these need to be fully exploited and above all the spying has to be funny. This needs to be the centre of the film. Not a single montage. It needs to circle through every conceivable trope to romantic and comic effect. We need to see these two bickering and flirting and denying their attraction in ridiculous undercover situations. This should be basically 90% of the film. Because that I would watch. But âTodd is cheatingâ is beyond boring. So what will the scenario be?
A couple of options and Iâm not sure what Iâd go with at present. Firstly would be sticking with the âTodd is cheatingâ plotline but... he isnât. Heâs a great guy! The spying is all pointless and both Kelsey and Connor realise that but... just... canât quite bring themselves... to stop... because thatâs their excuse to see each other. Todd and Emily find out in the most embarrassing way possible, and find it hilarious. Because theyâre a well-adjusted couple ready to take the next step into married life. Either Aunt-now-Mum Olivia did start it and then has to eat humble pie and realise she was wrong about everything or someone else instigated it. Maybe a jealous ex? IDK. It doesnât really matter. Theyâre proved totally wrong and true love triumphs!
The alternative is that Todd is really a bad egg but in that case we need to play his relationship with Emily differently so she doesnât come out looking like a robot or an idiot. We can do a Much Ado situation where their superficial relationship - Emily desperately trying to please her mother as much as Kelsey is trying to distance herself (two sides of the same coin) - is contrasted with the real and flawed relationship that develops between Kelsey and Connor. Meanwhile, because this is a romcom, while Todd and Emilyâs relationship is obviously wrong from the start, Emily builds up a cute friendship with the adorable baker making her wedding cake - who is the only appealing character in the film as it stands. Once Emilyâs relationship with Todd is exploded, then give her a shoulder to cry on and the hope of something real with the lovely baker in the future.
But even if Todd is a genuinely rotter, the spying needs to be a smokescreen. If Kelsey and Connor do discover whatever is dodgy about Todd, it needs to happen accidentally and so all their spy antics need to be a complete waste of time except to lead to them falling in love. Because actually spying on people and so on is... not very nice and turns this into a spy film rather than a romcom. Even better, let Emily come to the realisation herself. When Kelsey breaks the news to her (she has to do it, not Connor for maximum emotion, and not ridiculously while sheâs at the altar) then Emily has to admit she already worked it out so she can make a really informed decision.
If youâre going to have Connor propose at the end (which is stupid) then the correct response is for Kelsey to laugh hysterically and say something like, âAre you crazy? But you can take me out for a real date!â Cue kiss, applause and credits.
So Connor. Firstly, his background needs to be simplified. He shouldnât be Emilyâs ex. Thatâs just weird. And the whole money business is dubious and overly-complicated and doesnât make him look great and is just shoe-horned in for ~drama. Heâs just a stranger who is a PI. The end. This ought to be an easy job for him, a boring one. He didnât count on the genuinely smart, witty wedding planner he got entangled with. Bless his snarky, so over-it cotton socks.
So, I can see you wondering, havenât I removed all sources of tension? No issue with the ex, no money problems, Kelsey and Connor donât even affect Emilyâs relationship. What is the massive problem that will occur 4/5ths the way through and make our hero and heroine desperately miserable for five minutes before the final denouement? But, my friend, if you think this is a problem, then youâve completely missed the central premise of this story. They think theyâre just forced to work together! As spies! Undercover! But actually! They have real feelings! For each other! Isnât that enough of a plot? When Emily and Toddâs wedding either goes ahead without problem or is broken up no thanks to the inept spy duo, they have no longer any reason to see each other! And thinking that the other one doesnât care, they just sadly say goodbye and prepare to part for ever... BUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT WILL SHOCK YOU. Look, this is all the level of conflict this film needs. Nobody is watching this because they want this part of the film to last more than a couple of minutes maximum. Just let them roll their eyes at each other like the Beatrice and Benedick dynamic they so desperately wish they had and kiss!
THE END.
#The Christmas Wedding Planner#I can't believe how long I've spent on this#literally hours#I am wasted as a teacher#I should write Hallmark movies#I know this is Netflix not Hallmark but let's no quibble over details#Netflix should be able to do better#I'm tempted to write this#I mean I think the plot would be sufficiently different to the original I think I could get aaway with it

The Hyuuga Clan: what not to do
So I promised a separate post on the Hyuuga Clan plotline after I wrapped up the Chuunin Exam arc, and as promised, here it is. Â Itâs been a long time coming, so letâs get started, shall we?
To recap the Hyuuga Clan plotline, the whole thing starts when Neji and Hinata, previously introduced separately earlier in the Chuunin exam arc, face each other in the preliminaries. Â Itâs an unpleasant, vitriolic match: Neji brutalizes his cousin in the course of their fight, and comes damn close to killing her. Â The only reason Hinata doesnât die right then and there is due to the intervention of the Leaf jounin-instructors. Â Fandom often attributes this to Narutoâs support, but I would argue thatâs unfair to Hinata; in one of the few self-motivated acts she does, she tells Neji heâs wrong about her, about the world, and most importantly, himselfâwhich enrages him to the point of going for a killing blow. Â
Anyway, Neji is thoroughly unlikeable, and Naruto swears heâll cut the other kid down to size during his match with other boy. Â Blah blah blah, take a month-long break, time to fight. Â As becomes usual for Narutoâs villain face-offs, they fight and Neji monologues: he explains why heâs so angry at Hinata (and the Main House) even though theyâre family. Â Essentially, the Branch house of the Hyuuga all have a seal on their forehead that destroys their eyes upon death, ensuring their valuable bloodline limit can't be stolen. Â That actually sounds really cool except for one thing: it's also used as a method of brutal control by the Main House, who have the ability and knowledge to manipulate the seal's destructive capacity to inflict agonizing pain on those who bear it. Â Moreover, Hinata and Neji aren't just people from the same clanâthey're actually first cousinsâand considering their respective fathers are identical twins, you could make a very strong case for them being closer to half-siblings than anything else. Â
Neji is angry for two reasons, one abstract and one personal. Â The abstract reason is this: Neji is a gifted prodigy in his clan's techniques, but because he's part of the Branch House, he's unable to get the training and, yes, recognition he deserves as a Gentle Fist prodigy. Â Hinata is only average in the abilities the Hyuuga valueânamely having advanced control over her bloodline and the combat skills to go with itâand if Neji's father had been born first instead of her own, their lives would be unimaginably different. Â The personal reason is that ten years ago, Neji's father was sacrificed to appease some politically powerful bloodline thieves, who attempted to kidnap Hinata, presumably because she was young, had a good pedigree, and also had a womb. Â Long story short, Naruto beats Neji up and tells him to "cheer up emo kid!". Â The story doesn't end until Neji reaches some kind of catharsis with his uncle, Hinata's father, and decides he too will live free like a bird, blah blah blah. Â Yay! Â Story concluded, right?
Fandom didn't think so, and rightly so! Â Konoha is revealed to have a large, politically powerful clan that is essentially enslaving a least half (and perhaps more) of their own population, and using it for unspeakable reasons. Â Leaving aside Neji's sort of weaksauce resolution, Hinata, meek and unmartial, has a younger sister who is strong in all the ways she isn't; Just like with her father and his brother, will she have to brand her younger sister to maintain the right of absolute primogeniture?
And make no mistake, that is the real issue at the heart of the Hyuuga clan.  Everything else is just window dressing.  Even ignoring the stupidity of the Hyuuga sacrificeReally, Sarutobi?  Really?! âthe Hyuuga story always had more holes in it than good swiss cheese.  As I mentioned in my re-read summary post for volumes 11-13, the combination of "sealing most of the family" and also "preventing the sealed kin from learning the full extent of the Gentle Fist" only makes sense if the Hyuuga were alone in the wilderness, but in a village setting where the vast majority of sealed Hyuuga are supporting village operations, it sounds like a bad deal for the Leaf, since they're only getting half-trained soldiers in return for allowing the Hyuuga to live within their walls.  The entire purpose of Neji's story is just a clumsy way to highlight the injustice of absolute primogeniture as a method of both advancement, inheritance, and simple justice in traditional society.
I don't think it's an exaggeration that the "Clan Hyuuga eats its children" genre of stories was one of the more popular family-centered tropes in fanfiction in the pre-Shippuden era. Â The sand sibs and Uchiha brothers might have had more written about them, but not by much. Â How Hinata, Neji, and Naruto would grapple with the Hyuuga Clan's outdated social norms was the focus of a lot of stories and there was a lot of expectation about how Kishimoto was going to resolve this issue in part 2. Â Now that Naruto has come to an end, we can all throw up a little in our mouths, because it's clear Kishimoto thought he already had.
Any of Hinata's character growth in part two comes from her relationship to Naruto; Neji dies sacrificing himself for her and Naruto, which seems damn empty given that we never see the cousins reconcile or really interact all that much. Hanabi is a non-entity. Â The Hyuuga Clan, as of Chapter 700, is still presumably sealing and oppressing the majority of its members. Â The only way to understand this extremely unsatisfactory turn of events is to see it as an intersection of two unpleasant trends in Naruto: women are always secondary to men in terms of character development and plot importance, and villainous motivations are tailor-made to whatever the hell sort of lesson Naruto is supposed to impart to them as the hero of this story.
Women, in Naruto, are almost always secondary to the men they are related and associated with. Â Mito only shows up in context of her husband, never mind that she was apparently a master in her own right; like Sakura's relationship to Naruto and Sasuke, even the relationship between a man and his wife is secondary to the strong bond between her husband and Madara, his "best friend". Â Kushina, again, was another cool character who could have been very interesting...except that she was immediately subordinated to her husband's plot, and then later her son's. Â Kurenai's griefs and plots are centered around Asuma and Shikamaru; Sakura had the glimmerings of her own story, but it was always shoved aside for the Naruto and Sasuke thing. Â Rin is probably the worst example; she literally only exists to traumatize Obito and Kakashi with her death. Â Hinata is just another character in that tradition.
For the sake of argument, separate Hyuuga Hinata, clan heir from Hinata, Naruto's love interest. Â Just pretend there are two girls with that given name in Narutoâactually, let's make it even easier. Hinata the girl is Naruto's love interest; Hinata the clan heir is a boy. Â Hinata the boy isn't a bad person, but he's shy, meek, unassuming, and not very good at combat. Â He is a constant disappointment to his father, who wanted a child much like Hinata's cousin, who is everything Hinata isn't: strong, capable, and ruthless. Â In a different world, his cousin Neji would be clan heirâexcept their family practices absolute primogeniture as a method of inheritance. Â Neji's father is younger than Hinata's father and was thus forced into the lesser branch family and blocked from ever inheriting. Â Hinata has a younger brother, as well, who is also better than Hinata in all the ways that matter to their family, and one day, Hinata will have to brand his younger brother and cast him aside, all to uphold their tradition. Â Hinata is despised by his cousin (and maybe his brother) because they both know they are better than him, but because of their family's stupid rules, they are forever subordinate to the lesser. Â But Hinata has his own skills: in a family with eyes that see nearly everything, save for one specific blind spot, Hinata has the gift of seeing just what they lack. Â Can Hinata find a way to prove that might does not make one right? Â Can he show that it's not strength of arms that makes a good leader? Can he find a way to unite his broken family, and right the injustice they have perpetuated among themselves?
That's an interesting story, isn't it? Â But Kishimoto wasn't really interested in writing a story about why absolute primogeniture is stupid; he wasn't interested in writing a story about what makes a good leader and how to grow up to be a just one, either. Â Hyuuga Hinata, clan heir, was extraneous; that whole facet of her character could have been a separate one-shot character who just showed up in Neji's villain arc like so many others, given her importance as clan heir after this point.
Now that Naruto's over, it's obvious the whole horrible Hyuuga clan background was just another tragic villainous past for Naruto to defeat in a stupid fight. Â It's infuriating because it's literally is a schoolyard fightâit's not exactly a demon trapped in a little boy, or the survivors of a brutal foreign war finding the only way to protect themselves is destroying everyone who opposes them. Â Kishimoto didn't have to write a caged bird seal plotline; he didn't have to make the Hyuuga so brutal to their own kin. Neji didn't even need to try and murder his cousin, just beating the shit out of her would have been enough. Â The whole thing could have been written as a simple family drama about the unfairness of absolute primogeniture, no seal needed, just the weight of "we've always done it this way". Â Kishimoto wrote it for the explicit purpose of first making Neji horrible and cruel, then revealing, like all the rest of Naruto's villains, why he is deserving of pity for his "terrible" deeds. Â
Ultimately, Kishimoto wrote the Hyuuga the way he did because he's almost incapable of writing a character who does bad things without having a sad past; and he's incapable of that because he's a lazy writer who doesn't want to go through the work of actually writing interesting characters. Â The entire Hyuuga family plotline is the sort of manipulative asspull I hate in both professional and amateur writers, the sort of crutch a weakling uses to pass over another characterâs flaws. Â Hinata, in this story, only exists to show how fucked up Neji is because of her father's actions. Â She certainly never gets any resolution to her father treating her poorly, or the fact that her cousin tried very hard to kill her in public view. Â The central tension in the Hyuuga clan is between Neji and Hiashi, which is why the arc closes with Hiashi apologizing to Neji, and then Neji deciding to make his own way in life despite the seal, like his father did.
And Hinata, who is despised for weakness by her father; who is nearly killed for having the temerity to point out Neji's own blind spot; who is physically weak, but has the glimmers of a character stronger than both her cousin and father combined, if only Kishimoto had been interested?
Like Mito, and Kushina, Â and Rin, and Kurenai, and Sakura, and Anko, and yes, Karin, and every other goddamn woman in this manga - like them, she's only a prop in someone else's story. Â And in turn, that other person's story is just a prop for Naruto to defeat on his way to becoming a hero. Â

So itâs time to get back to the funnybooks. After two weeks of talking movies, Iâve got a nice little backlog piling up, including the conclusion of Heroes in Crisis, the beginning of the end for Ed Piskorâs X-Men: Grand Design, and new issues of Stray Bullets and Criminal. But first, the comic I enjoyed most from the last two weeksâŚ
The Green Lantern 8 by Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp
Yâknow, just about any issue of this book is likely to be filled with ridiculous fun. But this one⌠Holy crap.
From the cover alone, you know youâre in for a wild ride. This issue is an homage to the classic Denny OâNeil / Neal Adams run of Green Lantern / Green Arrow, complete with Liam Sharp doing his best Adams impersonation throughout. But once you start reading the actual story, you swiftly realize itâs WAY crazier than that.
First, weâre introduced to Hadea Maxima, a (possibly other-dimensional?) hell-planet inhabited by a race of space demons for whom murder is not a crime, but an accepted cultural norm. One of the leaders (I guess?) of this place is a demon space-mobster named Lord Brotorr (!), whoâs very very angry that rival demon space-mobster Glorigold DeGrand (!) is cutting in on his profits with a new drug thatâs connected in some way to Earth. So Brotorr orders the murder of not just his rival, but also of THE ENTIRE PLANET.
Cut to Earth, where Green Arrowâs dealing with a deadly new street drug that leaves its users in a blank, zombie-like state. Green Lantern shows up to help, and weâre off to the races. Before itâs all done (without getting into too many spoilers), weâve had twists, turns, psychedelic trips, drug dealers in pointy black hoods, and what may be only the second-ever appearance of Jack Kirbyâs Xeen Arrow (the Green Arrow of Dimension Zero, which is of course an other-dimensional world inhabited by telepathic super-giants).
It is complete insanity, a frothy mixture of Silver Age goofiness and 2000 AD attitude that somehow manages to maintain the heroesâ dramatic dignity while still playing things for laughs. Itâs a tightrope walk of an approach, and itâs not easy to pull off. Too far one way, and it all gets too cute for its own good. Too far the other way, and youâve got the idiocy of a Rob Liefeld comic. But when you hit that sweet spot in the middle, youâve got a potential classic.
And though itâs not perfect⌠Though sometimes Morrisonâs scripts lean so far into dream logic that they donât quite make sense even as comedy⌠Iâm leaning toward this being a classic.
Immortal Hulk 18 by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett
Another classic in the making is Al Ewing and Joe Bennettâs Immortal Hulk. This oneâs been gathering quite a buzz, picking up readers as it goes along, to the point that the early issues (which had low-expectation print runs) are now going for a pretty penny on the collectorâs market. Iâm sure the prices will eventually level out, but itâs nice to see a comic going for big bucks on the basis of actual reader demand, instead of the usual âitâs worth this because we say it isâ reasons for that sort of thing.
The buzz itâs getting is deserved, too. Al Ewingâs horror take on the character has been quite a bit of fun. It dragged a bit during the Hell storyline a few issues back, but otherwise this has been great stuff. Joe Fixit (aka the gray Hulk) recently reappeared, and this issue we discover that heâs been in control of Bannerâs body for quite some time. Itâs not entirely clear how long, or what heâs been up to, but heâs definitely had time to amass a little money. And grow a mustache.
As the story moves on, we also get a crazy new version of the Abomination WHO HAS A FIST FOR A FACE.
So, yeah. This oneâs a lot of fun, too. Not as good. But a lot of fun.
X-Men: Grand Design: X-Tinction 1 by Ed Piskor
My favorite X-Men book since Grant Morrison left in a huff has begun its final chapter here. If youâre not familiar, Grand Design is Ed Piskorâs attempt to cover the history of the X-Men as if it was all one long story that was planned out from the beginning. The first volume covered the original series, and the second covered the first 100 issues or so of Chris Claremontâs long run.
This time around, heâs really got his work cut out for him, because heâs covering what might be the absolute nadir of the Claremont run: the Trial of Magneto through Inferno. This was the period when I started losing interest in the book, and finally stopped reading it entirely. These stories left a bad taste in my mouth thatâs still lingering 30 years later, and I found that I didnât enjoy revisiting them any more than I enjoyed reading them the first time through.
Piskor does his best with them, though, condensing and conflating events in a way that streamlines some of Claremontâs more over-extended plotlines, and completely skips the more forgettable stories in favor of the stuff that continued to have repercussions down the line. His one misstep in that regard, I think, is the short shrift he gives to the Trial of Magneto, which Iâve always though of as the real climax of the first half of Claremontâs run. But I suppose that ultimately had more of an impact on the New Mutants book than it did X-Men proper, so maybe he was right to only mention it in passing. This is really Stormâs issue, and he rightly focuses things on her character arc (which might be the one really interesting thing from this period of the book).
Still. Holy crap. The latter two-thirds of this issue is concerned entirely with demons and Mr. Sinister. And just when you think youâre done with the demons, MORE demons show up. Itâs interminable. And thereâs only so much even Ed Piskor can do to save it.
Still, though, I have high hopes for the next issue. Because I have no idea whatsoever where X-Men goes next, and I can only think it would have to be betterâŚ
Ed Piskorâs Grade for Trying Hard:
Chris Claremontâs Grade for Writing Such Execrable Source Material:
Heroes in Crisis 9 by Tom King and Clay Mann
On the one hand, itâs comforting that this book died the way it lived: telling a story that I liked in some very important ways, but hated in others.
On the other hand⌠DAMMIT, Tom King! Why do you have to be so good and so bad at the same time?!
I donât care enough to go into great detail on what I liked and didnât like in this final issue. So Iâll just hit the highlights. On the down side, King engaged in some time travel shenanigans to change the solution we already saw to his locked-room mystery, and that feels like a cheat.
But on the up side, that cheat gives us an ending thatâs messy but life-affirming, rather than neat but tragic. And that ending, unsatisfying as it is from a narrative perspective, feels very real. Because life is often messy and unsatisfying. âNothing ever ends,â as Alan Moore once told us. But this ending also fits the book better than the neat ending would have. Because the ending we got (Wally West lives) offers a chance at healing and a hope for redemption. Which is what Heroes in Crisis has been about from the outset.
So I suppose I shouldnât complain.
But I do.
Because, dammit.
Stray Bullets: Sunshine and Roses 41 by David Lapham
With the Lodger side project over, David Lapham gets back to his (or maybe my) first love, Stray Bullets. And, holy crap, things are really getting out of control.
click to embiggen
It would take far more time than I have tonight to explain the vast web of plots that are coming together here. So suffice it to say that the entire huge ensemble cast, which Lapham has spent the last 40 issues meticulously establishing, is finally converging, and I have no idea how any of them are going to survive.
Except that I know most of them do.
Because this entire series essentially takes place between issues seven and eight of the original Stray Bullets series, published more than 20 years ago. And I know what happens afterwards. In most cases, that would take some of the⌠excitement, I suppose⌠out of seeing how itâs all going to end. But not here, really. Laphamâs done a sufficiently good job putting this story together that, even though I know that Beth, Orson, Nina, Spanish Scott, and so many other characters will be surviving this bloodbath, I want to know how theyâre gonna do it. And then thereâs a handful of other characters who seem conspicuously absent from future events, and Iâm dreadfully worried about all of them.
Or, if not worried, per se, at least really curious.
Because honestly⌠Annie probably deserves whatever sheâs got coming. Unless, of course, Lapham finds a way to make her fate even worse than I can imagine. Heâs good at thatâŚ
Criminal 5 by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips
This fifth issue begins what Ed Brubaker has said will probably be the longest Criminal story arc to date. Which is a little weird for a series that heâs also said would feature more short pieces. But Brubakerâs a criminal at heart, as weâve already learned, so you kind of have to take his proclamations about this book with a grain of salt.
Anyway. This new arcâs called âCruel Summer.â Itâs set in the summer of 1988, and it involves a private detective being hired to find a woman, but getting in a little too deep. Pretty standard noir premise there, and though the storyâs well-told, I wonât tell you that Brubaker and Phillips really offer that much in the way of new twists on it. Where things get interesting is at the end, when Our Hero gets whacked on the head with a wrench by none other than Teeg Lawless.
Thatâs the same Teeg Lawless around whom every story in this current volume of Criminal has in some way revolved. Or if not revolved, INvolved. Even if itâs only in a spectral, influential sort of way. And next issue, weâre told, is all about Teeg. And, I would presume, this mysterious woman we meet this time around.
Which is just a really long-winded way of telling you that this storyâs much like all the others in this series: clever, well-constructed, and more complicated than it looks on the surface.
A Walk Through Hell 10 by Garth Ennis and Goran Sudzuka
Garth Ennisâ searing look at the horrors of the Trump era continues, with an issue that calls into question the value of empathy when youâre dealing with people who have none themselves. It is not a cheerful or especially pleasant read. But it is a compelling one. It questions liberal values even as it presents the rich and powerful in a very ugly light. While itâs clear who the biggest monsters are, it doesnât let anybody off the hook. Which is horribly unfair, but thereâs also a grain of truth in it. Maybe more than a grain. Maybe. Probably. Maybe.
Itâs into that opening of doubt that Ennis shoves his pry bar, and starts applying pressure. And thatâs where the real horror comes from. This is a story about evil men taking advantage of peopleâs doubts. But they have those doubts for a reason, and sometimes thatâs enough to break them.
And that is Hell.
Or at least, thatâs my reading of the book at this point. I withhold the right to change my mind in light of future evidence.
And on that cheery note, it is time to bid you adieu.
Xeens and Things: FUNNYBOOKSINREVIEWAREGO!! So it's time to get back to the funnybooks.
