Ten Characters
I was tagged by @alrendriablaze for 10 of my favorite characters from 10 different fandoms challenge. As I tried to make a list I realized there are a ton of fandoms I'm in, so narrowing down to just 10 was hard. Here we go, in alphabetical order for fairness:
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Spike, aka William the Bloody (Awful)
He's so snarky, and I loved his entire character arc. From sad poet boy to ruthless vampire to literal world savior.
2. DC: Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy
Not only is she a badass nature goddess, she's a brilliant scientist and by far one of the most interesting villains/antiheroes in the franchise.
3. Disney: Moana
I fell in love with this movie the first time I saw it, mostly because I get it. Moana defies the boxes people try to push her into, and has a deep love of sailing and the sea. Plus she earns the respect of a goddess and a demigod, so that's pretty badass.
4. Marvel: Loki
It's fucking Loki. I mean c'mon. The Norse trickster god he's based on is amazing, and I wish the films/shows went deeper into the character's gender fluid aspects.
5. Sense8: Wolfgang
He was seriously just so sweet and feral, and I loved the conclusion arc to his character romantically.
6. Star Trek: Captain Janeway
Speaking of badass women, Janeway is a huge inspiration to me personally. She may fuck up and make bad decisions sometimes, but she takes responsibility and leads her crew as fairly as possible. She's the kind of captain I aspire to be.
7. Supernatural: Dean Winchester
Manly tears, love of food and classic rock, and a tricky grin. It's been a fun ride in this fandom, and I can't wait to see the final conclusion.
8. True Blood: Pam
This was a hard pick between Pam and Eric honestly, but ultimately Pam is goals. She's sarcastic and over everyone and everything, and has an amazing wardrobe.
9. The Umbrella Academy: Klaus
God I have never identified harder with a character in my life, so I'm not sure what that says about me. His gender fuckery and bi/pan chaotic disaster status is amazing, and he's a precious noodle who needs to be protected.
10. The Witcher: Jaskier/Dandelion
Ah the best for last. I honestly love every version of the bard, and I especially love how Joey Batey brings him to life in the series. From the book version where's he's the worst spy to the show where he's a soft yet feral poet, this character is just the absolute best.
There we are! This was a fun exercise, and I'm tagging @avuneon @thesebrownshoes and @thatgothwitchoverthere, plus whoever else wants to do it. Enjoy!
I'm also realizing this exercise is a fairly decent look into a person's psyche, so I'm not sure what this mix says about me.
