Strange love
Pairing: Nate Jacob’s x female reader
Warnings: choking angst a bit of fluff near the end cursing
Authors note: thank you to my wonderful wonderful girlfriend @asshlyyyy for the banner
Tumblr media
you were at some stupid party you´re friend maddie dragged you to. and honestly? you were so over it already. you weren't the type for parties, a lot of people actually wondered why you and maddie were friends.
nate fuckin jacobs you fucking hated his guts he was ripped in every edge but you were ought to admit, he was a fucking master piece that wasn´t even why you hated him. he bullied you or well it was more like teasing. He called you ¨monroe¨ because your plan was to move away and become some big Hollywood star. honestly it almost seemed like he was jealous because he on the other hand. was gonna be stuck in this fucking town forever,
you walked to the kitchen and sigh softly, speaking of the fucking devil there he was in all his glory. he was wearing a white shirt, with a black button up and black jeans. you quickly looked away and grabbed yourself and maddie a drink. before the devil could spot you, to be fair you didn't feel like dealing with nate to be very honest you never felt like dealing with nate.
but before you could even walk out of the damn kitchen. you felt someone grab your wrist with a very strong grip. you just knew it was him, ¨fucking hell¨ you muttered to yourself. and turned around ¨Hello nate¨ you said looking up at the 6´5 man. who even is 6 fucking 5 it feels unncessary to be that tall, ¨nice outfit found it in you´re grandma her closet?¨ he chuckled sinisterly.
You rolled your eyes and was about to speak up but he put his finger against your lips preventing you from speaking. “Uh-uh-uh why are you here?” He spat as if he had an issue with you and not his ex girlfriend who was grinding on some random dude his dick.
¨because if you are here maddie is here¨ he muttered grabbing your jaw kinda harsh. ¨she is now what is it to you.¨ you said pushing him off ¨it's a party Nate people are gonna be there. get.over.it¨ you muttered and walked away. downing both drinks you sat down. next to rue she looked over at you ¨didn't think i'd see you here¨. she chuckled which made you laugh.
¨honestly neither did i, but oh well what can i say i´m a fucking people pleaser¨. you laughed as you leaned you´re head back on the couch. little did you know nate was watching your every fucking move. he wanted you hell he needed you. he wanted to make you laugh, but at the same time he also wanted to hurt you and see you cry.
an hour or so passed and you were still strung out on the couch talking with rue. ¨That's the beauty of a secret you know you're supposed to keep it¨ you laughed. until you were interrupted by no one other than Nate Jacobs himself. ¨get up y/n¨ he spat, you looked a bit confused and shook your head. ¨no i´m not getting up?¨ you spat through your own theeth.
¨i said get the fuck up before i fucking help you¨ he almost yelled. you shook your head once more brushing him off and going back to youŕ conversation. This is when Nate decided he had enough of your little attitude and picked you up, as he threw you over his shoulder. you started to hit his back. ¨put me the fuck down nate this isn´t funny!¨ you yelled at him. but he just seemed to ignore you as he walked into the upstairs bathroom.
he placed you on the sink and grabbed your jaw kissing you. you kissed back moaning softly into his mouth, ¨nate not h-¨ you tried to whisper. in between the kiss but nate just ignored you as he started to assault your neck, ¨why the fuck are you wearing this skirt? do you not see the way people are looking at MY girl¨ he muttered against your neck softly biting it.
¨i´m not your fucking girl nate maddie is and maddie will always be, the thing that happened between us was once, ONE FUCKING TIME¨ you said tearing up. this is what he wanted right? he didn´t fucking care about you, you were a replacement until he got back together with maddie.
¨don´t fucking say that y/n¨ he said grabbing your neck and choking you slightly as he pushed your back against the wall. you groaned ¨the truth nate? one day you hate my fucking guts and the other your madly in fucking love with me.¨ you muttered and it looked like he was about to open his mouth again but then you spoke.
¨ I can see it from the way you're looking at me, you don't even think i'm worth your time, you are so offended that I follow all the rules except for yours that. You don't care about the person that I might be but I am so much more than you can see i´ve had enough you hear me, ENOUGH I'M DONE¨ you said and pushed him off you walking out of the bathroom. you basically ran down the stairs and out of the house as you ignored Nate calling your name.
you had enough of this, honestly you had enough of life itself. you were sick and tired of it. but you couldn't just leave the people you love behind could you..? you sighed as you got home. Once again you were home alone but you didn't mind. you got changed into more comfortable clothes as you heard repeated. knocks on your front door you sighed knowing exactly who it was.
you made your way downstairs and opened your front door. ¨nate i really don-¨ you sighed crossing your arms as nate let himself in. ¨no your gonna sit down on the fucking couch and listen to me for once.” he muttered, closing the door and looking at you, you sighed and sat on the couch thinking to yourself ¨this must be good¨.
nate looked at you ¨don´t you fucking get it y/n, i´m fucking in love with you.. you´re all i think about sure i'll admit it.. in the beginning i was using you to get over maddie. but that changed that changed the minute you ended up in the fucking hospital because you decided to slit your goddamn wrist.¨ he yelled. you were surprised he even cared at all… you didn't think it affected anyone that much let alone him.
¨please just give me a chance¨ he spoke softly now sitting next to you, ¨i'm not saying it's gonna be perfect or anything but… i want you and only you¨ he said and caressed your cheek leaning in pressing his lips to yours. and you gave in, the kiss was rough but sweet at the same time. it's like he craved you just as bad as you craved him. ÿou crawled onto his lap and nodded your head ¨okay one chance don't fuck it up¨ you muttered against his lips pulling away slightly.
he smiled softly kissing you more gently this time and smiled. when he pulled away you yawned, hinting it was time for bed. He chuckled softly and got up kissing your head as he carried you to your room. He took his shoes off and his jeans, leaving him in boxers and his shirt.
he pulled you closer kissing your cheek, ¨goodnight y/n¨ he whispered and you smiled already half asleep ¨goodnight nate¨.
you said and soon you both drifted off to sleep you knew it wasnt gonna be a easy relationship but it was definitely gonna be worth it.

NATE
The summer vacation had not been easy for Nathaniel Jacobs. Between the divorce of his parents, Cassie who was just stalking his and his going to college, nothing was right.
Two weeks before homecoming, he decided to go to Chris Mckay’s, he was happy that Mckay was still talking to him about what happened between him and Cassie.
They were in Mckay’s room playing a fighting game. They were focused in their game when Nate was talking. "Dude?". Mckay turned his head to look at him. "Yeah?" he said.
"How’s college, I mean is there a lot of hot chicks?" Mckay and Nate laugh, Nate laugh to hide his anxiety.
Nate wanted to leave, college was one of the best ways. What Nate was afraid of was not being number one. He was afraid that he would not be THE best football player. That he is not indispensable to his team.
"Nah, man, college is where you can fuck whoever you want, it’s not like high school, people don’t give a shit about who’s fucking who, as long as it’s not cheating." Mckay said.
"How do you get respect?" Nate asks. Mckay seems to think long." I had sex with the cheerleading captain and the opposing college captain. Nate opens his eyes wide. "Two cheerleaders but not the same team or the same college?"
"You’re gaining huge popularity and a huge repsect. You’re teammates will trust you after that." Mckay laughed." So if I understand correctly, a good fuck with a cheerleader captain is the deal?" asks Nate. "Got it all figured out, man. But one advice, close the door of your room when you’re inside."
Mckay’s expression changes, it becomes empty and hard. Filled with hate and sadness. Nate nods, and as he was about to speak the door opens. Drawing the attention of Nate and the latter.
"Chris, your aunt is here, comes to help her carry her boxes." said his mother. "Is she already there?" asked Chris sighing." Yes, she’s already here, with her daughter, so be nice and come now." Demands her mother.
Chris gets up and Nate follows him, they go outside where, his head car is parked. Chris hugs his aunt and takes boxes, Nate only says hello and helps her carry her boxes.
Nate poses where he needs to, he goes back out when he crosses a small head out of the bathroom.
Nate looks at the girl and he feels something, he doesn’t move me and she doesn’t either. He looks at the girl.
She is small, her hair is black braided, long eyelashes that put her brown hazelnut eyes in values , black skin but which shone thanks to the passage of the sunset in the long corridor. Nate begins to detail her body, she has beautiful boobs, a slim waist and beautiful hips that enhance her legs.
She’s wearing a Brazil jersey with black shorts, a cyclist? He doesn’t know, but anyway, this girl makes him feel what no other girl has ever made him feel not even Maddy.
"Y/N" says Chris enthusiastically. Y/N looks at Nate looking away at Chris. "Did you miss me?" she asks trotting towards him.
Chris laughs and hugs her. Nate remains in his thoughts for a short time.
______________________________________________
Nate learned a lot about Y/N. She’s her age, she likes to read, write and fine art, she doesn’t have a boyfriend and something that makes Nate want to have her, in two weeks, they’ll share the same campus.
They go to the same college, she looks so pure and kind, Nate intends to make sure that she lives only by him.
Nate falls in love every time she talks to him and that’s a big problem for our football star.
Especially when Y/N won’t just attract his attention.

Chapter four: Back to Black —✿
Series masterlist
Chapter warnings: cursing, drugs, sex, everything that comes with euphoria
Authors note: this one’s one of my favs so far. Enjoy guys!!
—✿
Noelle woke up at 4 in the morning to the wonderful feeling of throwing up on the bathroom, something she had been accustomed to since the baby started showing. She was trapped. At least, in her mind she was. There she sat, pulling her hair out as she emptied her stomach into the toilet.
“Fuck this dude.” She grumbled, smiling at the knock on the door.
Noelle was everything good in the world. 0Seriously, like sometimes you’d think she was joking. But she still was human, and like all us humans, she had her demons. One of which being Nate Jacobs. And when she finally thought she was rid of him...
“Fuck.” She cursed, slamming her hands down as she threw up again.
“Ma, you good in there?” Fezco asked, making Noelle groan in response.
I had been friends with Noelle since we were 8. I like to say she’s my best friend, not like Lexi was, where I grew up with Lexi, Noelle was more my best friend just because she was who she was. She was that type of friend where you could sit together in silence and it wouldn’t be awkward.
But being Noelle’s best friend for as long as I had been, meant I knew everything about her. I knew her history, how her parents were always away or at “business meetings.”
“Why god, why do you hate me?” She groaned, shaking her head in her hands as she sat by the toilet. She looked like a mess, her hair was messy, and she was wearing fezco’s oversized t-shirt that had been sitting on her floor for the past few days.
All friendships have their hardships, the things they don’t like about the other. For me, that was Noelle’s dating life. She had that sort of trust in people, that anyone could be better if they truly tried. The worst part of her life thus far was her short lived relationship with Nate Jacobs. It was a summer thing, that lasted until the first month of the year. You’d never see Nate Jacobs as happy as he was when he was dating Noelle. We all saw it, we all knew they had to be meant for each other. Even in the hardships, when he got angry, she got patient. And when he got angrier, she put him in his place. You could see how they loved each other, well, that is until he cheated on her. With Maddy, in the closet at a party.
The closet of all places. The most cliche spot.
It was during a start of year party, the whole school was there. Well, besides me and Jules. Noelle didn’t tell me when it happened either. She just came to my house after the party and cried.
I found out the next week at school when I saw Maddy and Nate walking down the hallway, hand in hand.
Noelle didn’t have any problem with Maddy, even after Nate cheated. They had been close almost as long as Ellie and I had been friends, and she didn’t feel the need to break that. Yes, it was stupid, to stay friends with someone who betrayed you, but to be honest Noelle cared more that Nate cheated than the fact that he cheated with Maddy.
Don't you wish more people could be like that?
But that was just Noelle. The people she loved, she loved, and letting go of that was hard for her to do, so she just didn’t do it.
It was odd. After they broke up, Nate became more angry. He became more violent, more hateful. Like Noelle was the goodness inside him, and now that she was gone, so was his goodness.
“I brought you some ginger ale.” He said, opening the door to be meet with a defeated Noelle on the other side.
Like I said, Fez and Noelle were close. Fez told me I was his family; if I was fezco’s family, Noelle was his home. Minus the whole drug factor, Fez and Noelle were more alike than most people you’d ever meet. So staying with fezco was maybe the best thing that happened to their friendship. Because like I feel with Noelle, she felt safe with him.
“I feel like shit.”
“You look like Shit.”
“Thanks ash.”
And even if Nate pretended not to notice her in school, he wasn’t good at it. Even maddy could see him stare at her, and it was safe to say Cassie felt like she was losing her mind watching him stare at her the way he did.
—✿
“I'm a f*ckin' genius, Fez.” I said, happily walking into the room with a wide smile.
“Is that so?”
“It is f*ckin' so because I came up with an amazing f*ckin' plan.” I explained happily, Noelle smiling at me as I did. That’s why I loved Noelle, she was always kind regardless of what hell she was going through.
“And what would that be, Rue?”
“All right, so…” I cleared my throat. “all you would have to do is front me, like, $ , worth of dr*gs, okay? And...”
fezco shook his head as he looked at Noelle.
“Hell the f*ck no.”
“I’m with him.” Noelle said, pointing at fezco as I rolled my eyes.
“Okay, well, before you say no, you kind of have to let me finish, right?”
“Hell the f*ck no.” Fezco interrupted.
“Okay, why do you keep saying that?”
“I did not like the way that the plan started.” He explained, his legs hanging off the counter he was sitting on. Noelle chuckled as she looked between fez and I.
“Okay, well, you have to let me finish the f*cking plan.”
“No.”
“Yes. You...”
“Hell the f*ck no, Rue.”
That was when I gave up. By the look on Noelle’s face, I knew I had come to the wrong place.
“f*ck it. I give up. Whatever. I'll just take my f*ckin' business elsewhere. It's your f*ckin' loss, man.”
I took one last look at fezco as he shook his head.
“Hell the f*ck no.”
—✿
“So first, you come to my f*ckin' job askin' all these weird-ass questions like the feds. Then I find you out in front of my house. What the f*ck are you doin', man?” Fezco asked, Cal Jacobs once again sitting infront of him unfortunately for fez.
“You're free to call the cops.” Cal sassed, raising an eyebrow as Fez rolled his eyes.
“Why the f*ck would I do that?”
“Well, it's either call the cops, let me go or... k*ll me.”
Fezco rolled his eyes.
“What the f*ck, man? What's with your family? Are you all just a bunch of f*ckin' assholes?”
Noelle couldn’t help but chuckle.
“You beat up my son.” Cal said, making Fezco roll his eyes again.
“Yeah, well, he deserved it, man. He's a f*ckin' bitch. And he fucked with my family.” Fezco looked over at Noelle with a smile, and she smiled back. She knew he was talking about her.
“Oh, okay, tough guy.” Cal grumbled, before Ashtray hit him over the head with his gun. “Ow, f*ck! Why did you do that?” He groaned, blood dripping down his face as Ashtray glared at him.
“Cause you're in no position to talk shit.”
“I'm warning you. You hit me one more...Oh, f*ck!” Cal screamed, getting hit again in the head.
“That one was for Noelle.” Ash hissed, smiling kindly at Noelle who smiled back.
“I didn’t do shit to Noelle. Ow!”
“Why don't you call the cops?” Ashtray threatened, as Cal grunted.
“All right, Ash. Chill out, man.” Fezco tried to reason, but the boy just kept hitting Cal with his gun.
“This guy don't want the f*ckin' cops involved. Watch. Call the cops.” Ashtray threatened, making Cal snap at him.
“I will.” He groaned, before getting hit again.
“Dial, bitch. If you got nothin' to hide, call the f*ckin' cops.”
“Stop, stop, stop.”
“I'm not f*cking stopping. I'm not stopping. Call the cops.” Ashtray looked at Cal, who looked back at him shamefully before looking to the ground. “I told you.”
“All right, man. I get it.” Fezco said, making Ashtray finally step down.
“I know you and your drug addict friend, that girl. You're trying to extort my son.”
“What?”
“Because of what he did to her.” He pointed at Noelle and she looked down trying to avoid his gaze. “And what I did to her friend.”
“What the f*ck are you talkin' about, man?”
“You know, the blonde.”
“Who? Jewel?”
Noelle couldn’t help but laugh. Fezco always messed up Jules’ name.
“Look, man, I didn't know she was 17.” Cal mumbled, causing Fez and Noelle to exchange knowing looks.
“You tellin' me you had sex with Jewel?” Fezco asked, his jaw dropping as he looked at Nate’s dad in disgust.
“Who's Jewel?” Faye asked, taking a hit from her joint as she rode out her high.
“What the f*ck, man?” Fezco asked, though he wasn’t sure who he was asking.
“Do I know Jewel?” Faye asked, but everyone ignored her. Noelle rubbed her back sweetly.
“No sweetie.”
“The f*ck are we even talkin' about right now, bro?” Fezco asked, as Faye looked around trying to think if she knew Jules.
“Jewel. Jewel. Jewel...”
“I just want the disc.” Cal asked, making Fezco even more confused.
“What disc?!”
“Of Jewel and I.”
“Yo, you recorded that shit?!”
“What the fuck.” Noelle mumbled to herself , not having known about Jules and Cal.
“I didn't know.”
“You didn't know that you were recording?”
“I f*cked up.”
“Obviously, man. Yo, who the f*ck even told you I gave a shit about this anyway?”
“My son.”
“Your son? The one that knocked up Noelle?” Fezco asked, making Cal look up at him confused.
“Aw, that's cute.” Faye said, turning to Noelle with a smile as she smiled back, terrified of the situation.
“That's not cute, man. What the f*ck?” Fezco cursed, sighing as he shook his head.
“You mean your son who never leaves Jules the fuck alone?” Fezco asked again and Cal just looked at him.
“What?”
“What kind of weird-ass father-son shit is goin' on around here, bro?” Fezco asked, making Cal shake his head.
“I'm extremely confused.” Cal said. Fezco looked at him as if he had three heads.
“You're confused. I'm f*ckin' confused, bro.”
“Me too.” Faye said, as Noelle raised her hand.
“Me three.”
“I don't even know what the f*ck you're doin' here.” Fezco said, causing cal to pagse for a second before looking up at Fez.
“Do you mind if I just leave? I'm not gonna say a word about anything, I swear to God.
Let's just pretend like...none of this ever happened.” Cal pleaded, Fezco and Ashtray exchanging a look before fez began to talk.
“Yo, Ash, let me talk to you real quick.”
The two left the room, walking into the back to talk leaving Noelle with Cal and Faye.
“You know it makes sense. I was wondering why you left the company.” Cal said, Noelle hugging herself nervously as he spoke.
“Yeah. Sorry about that…”
Like a guardian Angel, Fezco came back.
“Yo, check it out, man. I'mma let you walk up outta here on one condition.”
“Anything.”
“You'll keep your bitch-ass son out of my f*ckin' life, and Rue's and Jewel's, till the end of f*cking time. And he better step his ass up as a damn father.”
Cal didn’t respond at first, just glanced at Noelle with a soft smile. He knew it, he knew then and there. And Noelle knew he knew it the second he looked down at her stomach then back at her, a blank stare on his face as a million thoughts raced through his head. His sons life was over.
“You understand?” Fez asked, making Cal nod.
“I promise.”
“Now, I don't know shit about no f*ckin' disc, man. That's not my problem. Now get this m*therf*cker up outta here, Ash.”
—✿
Nate begged Noelle to stay the night. And by begged I mean showed up with flowers and everything. He would be lying if he said he didn’t miss her these past few weeks, all he could think about was her and his kid. If they were okay, if she was taking vitamins, if the baby was a boy or a girl. He hoped it was a girl, then it was less of a chance the kid would turn out like Nate.
“Elle, you’re pregnant.” Nate said, stopping her as she rolled her eyes, holding up a wet wipe and some gauze to his forehead cut. He had been instructed to take care of the wound after stitches, but knowing Nate he probably didn’t do any taking care of himself.
“You got beaten half to death let me take care of you.” She argued, making him go tan loudly as she cleaned his cut.
“Fuck.”
“That hurt?” She asked, smirking at him slightly.
“A little.”
“Good.”
It went quiet for a bit. Nate let her clean up his wounds as he sat there patiently, knowing her perf her that much. He could t help but stare at her small belly with an ache in his heart.
“When did you and me ever stop being, you and me?” He asked, causing Noelle to stop what she was doing. She sighed, frowning at him as she thought.
“I don’t know Nate. I loved you I really did. But, you’re not you anymore. You changed you, you’re so different now.” He scoffed, trying not to whimper at the light stinging from his forehead.
“Come on, Noah, I’m not that different.” He reasoned, making Noelle stop in her tracks, sighing again.
“I don’t even recognize you anymore Nate. I no longer feel comfort and joy being around you, just, fear.” She explained, causing Nate’s heart to shatter. If you had asked Nate who his favorite person was, he’d say Noelle. If you asked Noelle well, she would come up and probably have a meltdown at just th thought of Nate. And that’s what was different between them. He loved her, but she wasn’t too sure anymore.
“You’re afraid of me?” He asked, his voice low and quiet to not upset her.
“A little.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”
“Yeah well, what are you gonna do?”
The two had spent the night together and even ended up cuddling while they went to sleep. Nate’s face was horizontal to Noelle’s as he kissed her cheek softly, having missed her touch. And for the night, Noelle did too.
“I missed you noah.” He mumbled, hurrying his head in her neck as she ran her fingers through his hair. Nate’s hands never left her stomach since they got in the bed.
“I missed you too. And I hate myself for it.”

STAY HIGH .01
📍Location-Perez Household
📷POV- Narrator (3rd)
Brooke sat on Maddy's bed with a small, foldable mirror in one hand while her other hand lined her lips with a walnut brown shade while listening to Maddy and Kat's conversation. "Do you think my areolas look weird?" Maddy asked, while looking at her boobs in the mirror.
"No." Kat responded while Brooke just hummed in agreement, moving onto her eyeshadow, gathering her brushes together.
"But like.. The edges though." Maddy spun a little round, glancing at her friends who weren't even paying attention to what she was saying.
"Maddy, they're fine." Kat said while Brooke responded, "Yeah girl, calm down."
Maddy scoffed and said "Fine like they're weird, or fine like nobody but me would notice what I notice?"
"Fine like shut the fuck up Maddy!" BB yelled from Maddy's bathroom which caused Brooke to stop applying her makeup and start laughing
"I'm disgusting. I literally look disgusting." Maddy said while  pulling her tank top back up while Brooke scoffed and Kat responded "Maddy, you need to snap the fuck out of this. You're hot as fuck and Nate's a loser. Who cares?" Kat said, looking up at her while Brooke hummed in agreement, finishing her makeup and putting the mirror back on Maddy's table.
"He's not a loser, he's a dick." Maddy defended him. "All dicks are losers... duh." Kat mumbled. Brooke stood up and grabbed her phone, walking into the bathroom that BB was previously getting ready in, no longer interested in the seemingly never ending conversation. She pulled up her periwinkle colored jeans and smoothed out the wrinkles on her satin, indigo shirt.
Brooke came back into the bedroom and sat down on the bed and grabbed her phone to get more details about the party that was being thrown later.
"Brooke! You ready?" Maddy yelled from downstairs, glancing at Kat and BB who were also confused on what Brooke was doing. "Yep! I'm coming, gimme a sec I'm putting my shoes on." Maddy shrugged and turned around, walking to the door while BB shouted "We're gonna wait for you in the car." while following Kat and Maddy outside, shutting the door.
                                    ***
Maddy slowed the car down, beginning to pull into the parking lot of the store that Fezco owned with his brother. A certain curly haired girl walked past  the car and as soon as Maddy parked, she squinted her eyes and leaned closer to where the familiar figure was coming from.
"Is that..?" Maddy mumbled
"Oh shit. Slow down." Kat told her, even though she was already parked.
"Dude that's Rue! Oh my god.." Kat yelled.
Brooke sat up and smiled. "Oh shit! It is her!"
"Wait. didn't Rue like.. Die?" Maddy asked, confused.
BB leaned back in her seat and said "Oh my god.. I hate ghosts." Making Brooke laugh and say "She was in rehab I think."
Kat stuck her head out the window and yelled, "Yo Casper! You want a ride?"
Rue turned around and started walking slowly to the car. "Why thank you."
Brooke moved over to the middle seat, making room for Rue while she opened the door and got in the car. "Hey Rueee" Brooke said, making Rue turn to her and grin lazily. "Oh hey."
Maddy pulled out the parking spot and continued driving while rap music played and the smoke from BB's vape and the blunts that were being passed around, filled the car.
Brooke looked down at her phone, getting a message from her best friend, Sienna.
                                          Sienna<3
Sienna<3
Hey bitchh, where u at?
Brooke
I'm omw rn. I'm in the car wit Maddy and evb else. This car loud asf
Sienna<3
Ok girl be safe
Love u. see u soon
Brooke
I will! Love u too.
Brooke shut her phone off and laid her head against the headrest behind her, growing a headache every time BB blew smoke in her direction. Brooke just kept calm and continued listening to the rap music playing throughout the car, thankful that the current situation would only be for a couple more minutes. When the girls arrived at the party, they all said their goodbyes and ran off inside.
Brooke planned to stay with Maddy, but of course that wasn't happening since she already walked off, probably to find Nate. Her eyes darted across the room, hoping to find Sienna, or anybody else that was familiar to her.
After walking around for a few minutes, Brooke grew irritated with how many people shoved into her, unapologetically. Looking through the crowd of people one last time, before eventually deciding that she would find Sienna later, Brooke walked to the kitchen.
She grabbed a red solo cup, glancing at all the bottles of alcohol and shot glasses that were scattered throughout the kitchen. Making sure her cup was clean, she walked over to the fruit punch bowl and made herself a drink, making a mental note to add some tequila to it as well.
"Hey Brooke! I've been looking for you!" Brooke's head snapped to where the voice came from, thinking it was Sienna but it was just one of her friends from school, Isobel. "Hey Isobel! You liking the party so far?" She said drinking from her cup.
"It's ight." Isobel shrugged. "You?" Brooke grinned before shrugging as well. "Yeah it's ight. You know where Sienna is?" She shouted over the loud music.
"Uhm.. The last I saw her, she was at the bathroom so try there." Isobel spoke before grabbing a bottle of alcohol and walking away, saying her goodbyes.
Brooke drank the rest of her drink, scrunching her face, looking down into the cup, only to see that it was clear. She put the cup down, rolling her eyes as she realized she just drank from the wrong cup. She shrugged it off, walking back into the living room, to find Sienna. Her eyes scanned over all the dancing figures before she found what she guessed
were the bathrooms, where a lot of people gathered.
Brooke looked at all the figures, not finding one with noticeably crimson colored hair, which caused her to turn around, figuring whatever was going on behind that crowded door, was most likely bullshit.
She walked around more, still trying to find Sienna before eventually giving up and sitting herself down onto an empty seat on the couch. Her eyes scanned the room, watching all the people who were doing their own thing before she turned her head to get a look at who she was sitting beside. Her eyebrows raised and when she saw Sienna
"Where the hell were you?" Brooke shouted over the loud music, causing Sienna to look at her and smile. "I was looking for you everywhere!" Sienna yelled before pulling her into a hug.
Brooke's smile faded away as she felt a tug on her bladder. "Hey, stay here, don't go anywhere. I gotta use the bathroom." Sienna pulled away from the hug and said "Alright, but be quick" she chuckled and walked off to the bathroom.

***
Brooke walked out the bathroom, shaken up from all the drama she had heard. She shrugged it off, walking back to the couch that she was previously at. She looked around for Sienna before eventually sitting down, figuring she just went to get a drink.
She grabbed her phone out of her bag and started scrolling on instagram, no longer having interest in this party.

She started scrolling through the comments before she felt the seat beside her sink down. She looked over and saw Sienna. "I told you not to leave!" Sienna laughed "I'm sorry, I was thirsty I had to get a drink. You wanna dance?" She yelled over the loud music. Brooke nodded as Sienna pulled her up and led her toward the middle of the living room, crowded with dancing figures.
Sienna and Brooke started dancing together but Brooke felt eyes watching her. Brooke continued dancing but shrugged the feeling off
Unbeknownst to Brooke, Ashtray was staring ahead of them. He watched as they grabbed onto each other, dancing and singing along with the music. He didn't know either of the girls well, but he did know that Sienna bought weed from him alot and Brooke just seemed.. Confusing.
He met her a couple times before. Sometimes she was dressed in sweatpants and a tee and didn't talk at all while looking at her phone and other times, she was dressed all fancy with her hair done up in some kind of way while being chatty.
He knew she came from a rich family and just figured she would be one of those rich, annoying, stuck up girls with an everlasting bitchy attitude. Maybe he was judging her based on what he heard about her but she just seemed like she was uninteresting and annoying.
Despite how Ashtray was staring her down, Brooke didn't notice it. But Sienna did. And just as she was about to tell Brooke, and suggest going over there, she heard a loud voice.
"Do you guys know who the fuck this is?" Brooke and Sienna stopped dancing and the music stopped. Everyone was staring at Nate Jacobs pointing at a girl Brooke had never seen before.
"Does anybody know who the fuck this is? Does anybody know who the fuck Jules is?" Nate yelled again, while everyone stood awkwardly, but silent. He walked away from the girl and towards the crowd of people around him and started pointing at someone "Anyone at all. You. Do you know who the fuck Jules is?" He turned around and started walking back towards her. Continuing their previous conversation, Brooke couldn't hear because she was too far away.
Nate started getting in the girl's face which obviously upset her before he yelled again "Yo is anybody here, friends with Jules? Anyone? Does anyone know who the fuck this bitch is?"
He got quiet again, waiting for someone to speak before yelling louder. "Somebody better speak up or this bitch is gonna get fucked up!" The girl, seemingly tired of Nate being an asshole to her, grabbed a knife
"Oh shit.." Brooke mumbled while Sienna hummed in agreement to her reaction. Nate walked backwards away from the girl, as if he was retreating from a bear. "You wanna fucking hurt me!?" She yelled, walking towards him. "No! I was fucking kidding!" He yelled, trying to calm her down, which obviously in this case, wouldn't work. "Back the fuck up! What the fuck is your problem?!" She yelled, getting him against a cabinet with a scared look as he eyed the knife in her hand. "Put the fucking knife down okay- It was a joke-" He scrambled, trying to find the right words.
"You wanna fucking hurt me!?" "No no no-" Nate mumbled, still eyeing the knife. "You have no fucking idea." She said, slicing her wrist after. Brooke gasped like everyone else and looked at Sienna, who was just shaking her head, at a loss for words.
"I'm fucking invincible!" Jules said, with her hand raised up, walking over to Nate and putting her blood on his shoulder. She backed up from Nate, putting her arm down and shouted, "By the way, I'm Jules. I just moved here!" She said, smiling and walking out the kitchen,
The music started back up and everyone continued dancing. Brooke nodded slowly, finding the new girl cool but somewhat weird. She then  turned to Sienna, who was already looking at her. "Okay then.." Sienna mumbled over the music. "The fuck just happened" Sienna shrugged in confusion

Baby daddy II
Tumblr media
Part I
Pairing: nate jacobs x female reader (she/her pronouns)
Warnings: The Jacobs family, talk of nudes, reader isn't the best person. Manipulation, from Nate and reader. R is pregnant, teenage pregnancy.
TWO YEARS AGO
"Y/N, right?" She didn't have to look up from her now-closed locker to know who had locked it.
"Yes." She gently moved Nate Jacob's hand from the metal door to open it again, grabbing her binder and biology book.
"You, uh, had interesting things to say during history class." The girl walked away from her locker, going to her next class.
"It makes me angry when people glorify white dudes that didn't do admirable shit." Nate faltered for a second but didn't let it show.
"They founded America. They did do something admirable." Y/N shrugged, not really caring about the boy's opinions.
"Okay."
...
"Do you want a boy or a girl?" She looked up at Nate, tired of the endless conversations about the baby.
"Does it matter?" Nate looked down at her, placing a piece of hair behind her ear.
"I want a girl that looks like you." Y/N looked up from the book she was trying to read.
"Yeah, you said that before."
There was an awkward silence in the room. Nate had known Y/N long enough to know when she didn't want to talk. It never bothered him. Well, that's a lie. He appreciated how she wasn't clingy like other girls he had dated. How she wasn't on him 24/7 in case he was cheating on her. When he started talking to her, he liked it, loved it even. A few months in, he realized how much he despised her nonchalance. It wasn't that she wasn't insecure. It was that she didn't give a fuck. Y/N was going to be neutral, didn't matter if he dated her or left her. Nate was sure that if someday he stopped talking to her, she wouldn't even notice.
So, he did what any other teenage boy would do if he was so into a girl that didn't pay him attention. Ask her friends.
Nate first went to Maddy. He thought it would be easier to approach her, considering that she was a cheerleader and that they had spoken at parties before.
"You want to know what she likes?" Nate had been waiting for Maddy after practice.
"Yes, flowers, chocolate, stuff girls like." Maddy looked at Nate up and down
"I don't think you're her type. Pretty hard to make her like you if you don't even get her attention." Nate followed the shorter girl. Trying not to lose his temper at what she was saying.
"Let's say I'm her type. What do I do?" Maddy turned around, tired of his insistence.
"Look, she's never shown interest for anyone before, so I don't know. She likes daffodils, something to do with a movie about poets or something."
"What about food?" Maddy sighed, turned around, and kept walking.
"She likes m&m's and sushi."
The next week he convinced Y/N to go to his house, have dinner and watch a movie. He had dismissed the flowers, deciding on looking for the movie, so that they could watch it together. Hopefully, it was romantic, so that it could somehow set the mood. The movie ended and Y/N was trying not to cry. Not what Nate had been planning, but he could work with it.
"Do you have a favorite poet?" Her teary eyes met his dry ones. Maybe it's because he was sick in the head, but crying eyes were prettier than dry ones. It showed better eye color, making them more noticeable.
She let out a dry chuckle but replied. "I don't really have a favorite poet. I have a hard time understanding classical poetry. I guess I like Shakespeare's, but I think it's because of the depths of the characters."
"I had never watched this movie. It was nice." She looked down to her close enough hands. Y/N placed hers on top of his.
"I'll educate you in film, don't worry."
They then turned this into a routine. Once a month, sometimes even twice, they watched a movie Y/N considered a must-watch. By their third hang-out, Nate asked for some book recommendations. He had noticed that that was also one of her main interests. Her eyes lit up after his question. They shone more than when she was crying, and he realized that he craved for that shine. She promised to make him a specific list of books she thought he would like.
He wasn't used to taking relationships this slow. Nate assumed this is what meant finding the right girl. Just like football, results didn't come in a second, and if they did, they probably weren't good ones.
He once asked Y/N about her life plans, and her eyes lit up again. She explained both of them, the five years one and the ten years one. He wasn't a fan of her looking for independence like that. She had a foolproof plan, and it didn't include him. Nate could and would change that slowly but surely. He would let her go to college to get her master's. Doctorate if she felt like it, but she was staying home. Maybe it was because he was possessive. Every time he thought about it, his stomach would jump.
Just picturing her, his smart as hell wife, being home, reading books, and watching movies to her heart's content. She would make breakfast for the both of them, kiss Nate goodbye, and just be home, doing whatever she wanted. She didn't have to worry about the activism she was always talking about. She wouldn't have to be a human rights lawyer. Y/N would live a relaxed and calm life, not having to worry about anything.
Nate could picture her being a mom every single night in his bed. She babysat for some of her mother's friends, who had little kids, and she was so nurturing. One of the little boys had invited her to his birthday party, and Y/N had asked Nate to join her. She had gotten the dates mixed up and had to cancel their date. The way she didn't care about getting her dress dirty with grass stains, how she listened to the little boy speak to her about dinosaurs, it just made everything fall into place for Nate.
She was smart, pretty, and mother material. They would live a comfortable life after he inherited the company, and they would be the picture-perfect family.
After his daydream, Nate pulled Y/N closer to him. "I know this wasn't your plan. I'm sorry I was a complete asshole the other day. Can you forgive me?" She closed the book and left it on the coffee table. The girl cuddled closer to him, pulling her knees closer to her chest so that her whole body was on the couch.
"Why have you told our families that we're getting married?" The boy pulled her closer and kissed her forehead. He had missed this, even if they hadn't been broken up for so long. But those three months of her pulling away were awful. He knew Maddy and Kat had put those terrible ideas about him in her pretty mind. During this last year, Nate had made sure to slowly distance her from her friends, but it hadn't been easy. Even if he never understood how Y/N was their friend, they had a very close bond. They hung out every Friday and Saturday night. Some Sundays they went to the mall together to go shopping. Nate started interfering in the Sunday plans. He would take Y/N to the mall, specifically her favorite store. He would follow her around the bookstore, holding all of the books she wanted to buy, and he always paid. They would sometimes get books together, the same one, and read them during the month. Y/N would finish them in a week, but she knew Nate didn't have that much free time. Whenever they hung out to watch a movie, they would talk about their latest read. On the Saturdays they spent at the bookstore, Y/N would usually be worn down, and cancel the Sunday plan, sometimes even the Saturday one.
"I thought it was the easiest way to do this. Princess, I'm scared too. I have no idea what to do about anything, but we can do it together. And think about it; if you ever became a lawyer as you wanted, they could use the fact that you got pregnant in high school against you. If we get married before the baby is born, we could fix it up a bit." Y/N gently kissed his neck, the closes part of his body she could reach without moving from their position.
"I'm sorry I called your family a bunch of psychos."
"We both know they are." They both laughed softly, liking the now calm atmosphere. "Do you want to stay the night?"
"Okay."
...
The alarm clock read 3:26 am, and Y/N knew Nate was impossible to wake up in the middle of the night. She managed to move away from the human furnace he had become. She gently rolled out of the bed landing on the carpet. She stood up and walked towards the other side of the bed, where Nate had his nightstand.
Y/N picked up his phone, which lit up the moment she lifted it. The device was locked, showing a picture of them at the carnival last year. She was standing on her tippy toes, holding a stuffed Triceratops Nate had won for her. She was kissing Nate's cheek. While he held cotton candy with his free hand.
His mom had taken that photo of them, right in front of the Jacobs' chili stand.
Y/N swiped up, and the phone displayed the numbers to write in the passcode. She trusted Nate hadn't changed it and typed in her birthday.
The phone unlocked, and she was quick to get into Nate's photos app. She easily found the pictures, that were in a folder named Y/N. There were other pictures in the folder, not just the nudes. Some were sweet, from dates they had gone on. Her favorite was one they had taken right before going to one of the fancy dinners Cal would invite them to. Nate was wearing a basic suit, with a tie that matched the dress (Imagine whatever dress you like, this one is just for reference) she was wearing. Nate had gifted it to her a week prior, and she felt worth a million dollars.
Nate shifted on the bed, making her remember that she wasn't looking at his gallery to go down memory lane.
Y/N deleted all of her nudes, also the ones of them together, and left the phone how she found it. She went back to her side of the bed and got closer to Nate, in case he noticed that she was too far away and woke up.
For now, her plan was going okay, it was the next steps that were going to be more complicated.
A/N: I hope you liked part two, and be ready for part three. I have a long weekend from friday to monday, so maybe I'll be able to write two more parts for baby daddy. I have other requests I want to complete, some of them are for nate Jacobs, so if I don't write naything for baaby daddy, I'll have something else.
Thank you for more that 1000 notes on part one, has meant a lot, and if you want, send me ideas on what to write for future parts of baby daddy. It can be a flashback, a flash foward, a little detail you want inlcuded, whatever you want.
Thank you so much for liking part one, and I hope part two didn't dissapoint.

lightbeamers — Maddy x OC
Tumblr media
A/N: just a little something something! A little more of Maddy x Valli, you’re welcome 🥳 this turned out lengthier than expected!!! For no reason at all except I was unsure how to end it? Anyways it’s the month of love so why not? Hope you like this one!
✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭
New year? Same messy shit.
Valli should’ve expected that Maddy was ticked off with her after what went down at the New Year’s Eve party but? Valli just figured Maddy would get over it. It wasn’t a secret how valli felt about Nate jacobs and if she didn’t dip with her brothers…then what did they say about Valli’s loyalty?
The Persian girl knew deep down that maddy was aware of this—Valli was going to ride for Fez like she knew he would for her. Valli didn’t owe shit to Nate besides maybe chopping his head off and leaving it in a boiling pot of water in his parent’s front yard but nah a nice severe beating by the hands of her brother will do for now. However Maddy didn’t see it that way, yeah it seemed like things may be over with her and Nate—yet she had history with the dude…she wasn’t going to leave him there like that.
Valli was open to talk it out, trying to catch Maddy in the hallways just to be ignored with apologetic expressions from mainly Cassie—Kat just shrugged her shoulders following the shorter girl, to skipping class to wait for Maddy’s to be over with—after three failed attempts to talk to her, Valli decided to back off since that was the type of energy she was receiving. No amount of texts or approaches seemed to get Maddy to break and if she felt like valli needed to do some huge grand gesture just for Maddy to speak to her, then she was surely mistaken.
Valli wasn’t on some Nate jacobs shit. She didn’t need to buy maddy’s attention, yeah Maddy could be extreme at times but valli knew when to give her the space she wanted.
How well do you think that went over? Maddy wasn’t having that and even called Valli to demand that she come over to the house she was babysitting at. Valli told her she was busy and she really was…
“Oh, so you’re really not gonna come over here, Val?”
“Sorry, I’m working.”
“Um, So am I?!” Maddy rolled her eyes as she paced the living room, phone on speaker, silk top flowing behind her with each step.
“Then we can do this at a later time then?” Valli asked, scrubbing the blood off her hands.
“You know what? Byeee! I’m done.”
That pissed Maddy off for a little until Nate asked if he could see her.
Kat reached out to Valli a couple of days later through text along the lines of: hey valli, if u want to make it up to maddie u shld show up to the girls celebration we’re having for her bday at Cassie’s! U know if you’re not busy or anything…🙃
Valli laughed easily picking up on the shade. She knew Maddy and Kat tended to be the main ones that vented to each other and allowed each other to go on rants about anything…so she expected this kind of text from Kat Hernandez.
To: kat — wouldn’t miss the celebration of my girl’s life for the world! 😊 See you then kat.
And valli knew that would get underneath kat’s skin just a little. Valli didn’t know what it was but it seemed like kat had a love and hate relationship with her, she didn’t focus too much on that since that sounded like a personal problem.
Kat also found it weird how Valli didn’t ask for the time of the festivities, she even asked Cassie and BB if they already spoken to Valli and the both of them confirmed her suspicions…that they didn’t.
BB told them on the day of Maddy’s birthday that she didn’t even have Valli’s number since she may or may not have been poking around a little too much in her business, “hey I was faded! I don’t know why she took me so seriously!” Was her argument.
“What’re you guys talking about?” Maddy asked, exiting the bathroom, heading over to Cassie’s full length mirror to check out her ass in her black and white dress.
“Nothing!” Kat and Cassie answered in unison.
While BB said, “Valli.”
Maddy whipped her head around at that, “why are any of you running your mouth about her?”
“Damn. Sheesh.” BB slouched further against the foot of Cassie’s bed, vape clenched in between her fingers.
No one had anything else to say about that and thankfully Lexi came knocking on the door, telling the rest of the girls they could come downstairs now. Maddy side eyed them all for a brief moment before Cassie linked her arm with her’s and bounced on her toes.
“You’re gonna love this.” Cassie told her.
Once they got downstairs, Maddy could hear the beat of a Tay Money track rattling off the home’s walls. On their way to the dining room, Maddy smiled at the decorations of metallic streamers and balloons in the living room before taking a seat on one of the most decorated chairs in the room.
BB went to place a party hat on the birthday girl but Maddy gripped her wrist, “don’t even try it bitch. I don’t need no frizz from that cheap ass hat, especially when I didn’t get my pictures for insta.”
“Fine by me.” BB muttered, placing the hat on herself and leaving the girl be.
Kat sat by her smiling while Lexi was already recording for her own story; panning the view, in hopes of a certain someone would be watching…since she pulled the first move on following him first.
“Here little lex, take a quick few of me and Kat. And then we all need to take a group one on the steps or something later.” Maddy explained while lexi nodded, reaching over the table to grab her phone, to take a few pictures of the two.
Maddy gave her stamp of approval as Suze and Cassie entered the room. Suze started it off carrying a special cake while Cassie followed behind her, carrying her own gift.
“Happy birthday to you…” Suze sung off-key with the girls shortly following in after.
Maddy felt like her cheeks were so tight at how happy she was surrounded by her favorite people. Her mouth was held ajar as she looked at the photo of herself on her cake, dressed in her cheer uniform surrounded by eighteen candles. She loved her birthday and didn’t understand how anyone can hate their own. It was a day dedicated to you so who wouldn’t love that?
“Thank you girlies!” Maddy grinned, clasping her fingers together before she closed her eyes shut to make a wish, then she blew out the candles.
Shortly after with Suze running around in search of a knife to cut the cake, Cassie handed over her gift.
“We all chipped in for the cake!” Kat added as Maddy took what appeared to be a book, “It’s Chocoflan, your favorite.”
“Thank you,” Maddy said again as she opened the book and clasped her chest, “Bitch, you made me a collage?”
“So that you can always have something that reminds you of our friendship and how loved you are.” Cassie smiled, in which Maddy held her arms up to bring Cassie into a tight embrace.
This was exactly what Maddy wanted to cherish but Maddy couldn’t help but to feel like this party was missing something. Or someone. She buried that feeling down as they all received a slice of Maddy’s cake and fell into laughter and chatter. Her parents took her out to a early dinner around 3:45ish (which only her mother paid for) since her mother had to get back to the spa and tend to her clients…and her father had to get back to keeping the couch warm. So being here at The Howard’s felt more worthwhile, despite being with the two adults that should have made her eighteenth birthday a bigger deal.
Soon they all made their way into the living room to dance that cake off: from watching Suze attempt to twerk, to her allowing them all to “safely” drink in her home as long as they all agreed to spend the night, to recording and snapping pictures for the night.
Nate showed up, led into the house by a confused Lexi who led him to Maddy who met him halfway in the hallway giving him a embrace?
“Um…why the fuck is he here?” Kat pointed behind her, asking Lexi who simply shrugged.
The three girls in the room glanced at the Ex-couple who seemed pretty friendly with each other as Nate placed a necklace on Maddy’s neck. Lexi searched around the area for her sister as Kat went towards the stairs, fingers rapidly flying over her keyboard as she attempted to text someone.
Her head snapped up just in time to see Cassie strutting around in a hot pink bathing suit. Kat widened her eyes as she watched Cassie made her way down the steps by her, eyes only set on Maddy and Nate as she sipped on the contents in her red cup.
“Anyone want to get into the jacuzzi?” Cassie continued on her way innocently, knowing Nate’s eyes were now on her body.
While Maddy sent a look to Kat who tried to send her a convincing smile. Maddy squeezed Nate’s wrist before making her way over to Kat muttering, “what’s up with cassie? Trying to show out on my birthday?”
“I don’t know. What’s up with Nate?” Kat asked as the both of them went back upstairs.
“What do you mean?” Maddy questioned getting undressed, “Nate’s never missed a birthday since we’ve been together.”
“But…are you together?”
Maddy shrugged, “why is Nate being here bothering you? It’s my birthday.”
“Valli said she was going to be here tonight.” Kat exhaled, body tensing as she awaited Maddy’s response.
It was quiet much too long for Kat’s liking so she did the honors of turning around to see Maddy transforming her low ponytail to a high bun.
“Fine.” Maddy shrugged her shoulders.
“Fine?” Kat followed Maddy as she pulled on the bedroom door, ready to head out into the backyard.
“Yeah, whatever. You just ruined the surprise, thanks by the way.”
“It wasn’t…Did you invite Nate here or was that supposed to be a surprise too?”
“Did you mean to surprise me with Valli?”
“No. She knew before I even tried to convince her to make things right.” Kat answered.
Maddy smirked to herself. Of course Valli already did, there were many things she seemed to know before they happened or if someone else brought the situation up, valli already knew. She was great at keeping secrets or rather keeping things to herself, especially if it did not have anything to do with her.
The two girls made their way out to the backyard to see Valli leaning against the Jacuzzi in a navy blue attire, a wrap around top and satin jaggers with tiny earrings in her ears. Nate appeared very annoyed, very clenched jaw like a bad jaw implant gone wrong! Shout-out to handsome squidward! By her appearance, while Valli appeared unbothered.
“Happy birthday, Maddy Mads!” Valli stepped to Maddy who pressed her tongue into her cheek, trying to hide the smile that threatened to appear.
Maddy shook her head, “so you can show up unexpectedly to my birthday but not when I call you?”
“I wouldn’t dare miss your birthday.” Valli pressed a kiss to her cheek.
Maddy huffed as she then leaned into the girl’s embrace, hands slipping around her waist as she slightly melted into her frame, “yeah you know better, I wouldn’t let you hear the end of it.”
“Well last time that I checked, you told me you were done talking to me.”
Maddy shushed Valli with a roll of her fingertips, who laughed pulling back and looking at the dark haired girl as if she wanted to kiss her, right in front of Nate and she would have done it too if Maddy didn’t pull herself from her grasp quickly.
It went like this: Maddy, Valli, and Kat sat on one side while Cassie slouched into the water beside Nate. The conversation turned humorous to Valli once the topic focused on Maddy and Nate with Nate confirming that he and Maddy were no longer an item.
“See I was going to say no—but why do you sound so definitive about it?”
“I wasn’t being definitive,” Nate argued, “I was just answering the question.”
“But you didn’t have to though,” Maddy rolled her eyes, “I mean, why don't you just say, ‘We're working it out.’”
“You literally just said you were gonna say no.” Nate reminded the girl, trying to make it seem like he was in the right.
Valli sighed as she reached behind her for her own red cup.
Maddy continued, “Right, but that's me. When I say it, it means something totally different than when you say it.”
“Why does it matter anyways?” Nate asked, “aren’t you fucking valli now?”
Maddy’s shook her head while Valli tilted her head to the side at Maddy who shifted her glance, “don’t sit here next to me on my motherfucking birthday Nate and try to deflect the issue here. We’re talking about you and I.”
“But are you?” Cassie pressed with a hiccup, making Maddy turn her heated stare to her.
If she was, Cassie would be the first to know.
Before Maddy could say anything Valli added, “It seems like too many people are pointing fingers when they should be making sure their own hands are clean.”
Cassie’s eyes went wide while Nate’s jaw seemed to tighten again. There was no way Valli could have known what was going on between Nate and Cassie right? However with the look in her right eye made Nate think otherwise.
“You’re such a gaslighter Nate.” Maddy clapped her hands, irritated and got his attention again,” You see, this is why I don't believe you when you make all these promises, and you're like, ‘Oh, let's get back together. You're the only person in the world I care about. You're a Goddess, and it's my fault for not treating you like a Goddess. I promise, Maddy. I'll change. I'll grow. I'll be better. I don't deserve you. But I love you. Please, when I go to college, move with me. Marry me. Have my babies.’”
That’s when Cassie upchucked right into the tub which proved Valli’s thoughts. She hasn’t been here long but it evident Cassie was the drunkest here in her riskiest outfit on Maddy’s birthday with her eyes locked on Nate the entire time. They were sleeping together and it wasn’t much of a secret as they thought it was, Valli wondered if Maddy was piecing this together yet? It didn’t take long for valli to figure it out as they all climbed out the hot tub with Suze coming to Cassie’s sobbing aid and valli helping a gagging Maddy out of the water.
“I’m so sorry Maddy! Maddy! I’m sorry!”
“Yuck,” Valli commented, “girl’s gotta hold her liquor better.”
Maddy hummed as she remained doubled over. Valli knew Maddy had a thing with vomit due to a small list of her childhood trauma so she coached her to breathe through it while Nate came back with a towel. Valli reached forward and snatched it from the much taller teen to wrap around the birthday girl.
“Is she always like this when she drinks?” Nate asked, peering over his shoulder in search of the girl who he could still hear crying over the music.
“Yeah.” Maddy exhaled.
Valli fanned her hand, “why don’t you be a good boy and go see if they need any help? We know how thoughtful you can be.”
Nate felt his eye twitch, almost tauntingly stepping into Valli’s space but she didn’t back down even if she had to crane her neck. He just grinned down at her, scanning her frame up and down disgustingly so. Valli was daring him to try something, she was ready to fight if she had to.
“Oh-Kay, this right here has to stop.” Maddy stepped in between the two, her fingers pushing against Nate’s torso while she looked back at Valli who had no emotion in her large eyes, it was scary but also kinda hot?
“I’m not doing anything,” Nate continued to smile, “just taking in your bestie’s suggestions.”
“Oh fuck outta here nate, I don’t even know why you’re here? You’re not important enough to be.” Valli walked off in search of her lighter.
Nate replied, “I think I’m pretty damn important if Maddy wanted me here and invited me.” Which made Valli shake her head in disbelief, “You only seem to come around as a second option. Maybe that’s all you’ll ever be.”
“Shut the fuck up, nate! Stop being such a cunt. You don’t get to talk to her like that!” Maddy hissed while Nate huffed out a laugh.
“Just admit it Maddy, you play for the other team now huh? I always knew there was something between you two when we were together.” Nate said, “you’ll never be happy with her. She won’t fuck you right. She’s no better than me.”
Maddy suddenly yanked the necklace around her throat off and tossed it into Nate’s face, “don’t ever tell me who I can and can’t be happy with. I know for sure I might have loved you but I was never happy with you. You’re not what I want so if you’re wondering, we are officially over. So go. Fuck off!”
“I already said we were.” Nate laughed.
“Uh uh. I make the decisions here.” Maddy waved her finger, “It’s over.” She shoved at his chest hard, that he actually tripped backwards a bit.
Smugly Valli gave him a peace sign while Nate sucked in his cheeks before bending down to pick up the broken necklace. “You’re not worth this anyway, I’ll give it to someone who actually loves me.”
“Fuck you nate, you know I loved you! If I didn’t I wouldn’t have dealt with your shit for so long!” Maddy yelled before spinning to put her back to the tall brunette.
Nate stepped forward to kiss the back of Maddy’s head in which she clenched her eyes shut in response to. Valli then moved, blunt in between her matte lips and fingers on her lighter.
“Didn’t she just say to fuck off?”
Nate let out a another laugh and began walking backwards sending two middle fingers at the girls, “Whatever. You’ll be back.”
Maddy chose not to waste her breath on him any longer as Valli kept her eyes trained on Nate as he made his way into the Howard household. That boy was nothing but trouble and Valli knew it from the moment she witnessed Maddy and Nate become a thing. Her eyes shifted back to Maddy who was chewing down on her bottom lip hard. Valli rested her hands on top of Maddy’s towel covered arms and gently rubbed them.
“Forget about him, it’s your birthday. Don’t let that walking bag of shit ruin it for you,” Valli told Maddy who lifted her slightly slumped shoulders, “we’ll go in the other way and party until midnight or at least until the sun comes up.”
Maddy deeply inhaled multiple times, “you’ll stay?”
“Yes.” Valli said, peered into her doll-like eyes, “always.”
With that Maddy linked her fingers with the bronze skinned girl, leading her back into the house through another door.
Lexi came up with the idea of playing card games (before kat could bring up fuck, marry, kill) after they all became exhausted with dancing, BB made her exit to be elsewhere which valli was thankful for, so that only left Maddy, Valli, and Kat.
“Ah, what the hell else is there to do?” Kat sighed, laying on the living room floor stretched out on her side.
Cassie was across from her, drunk and sleeping on her back. She seemed to snap out of her naps every fifteen minutes (reminding lexi of their mother very much so in these moments) but this time she maybe out for the count as a snore escaped her lips. Lexi could see Maddy shaking her head in annoyance at the girl and hid the broken necklace underneath the pillow Cassie rested on.
They first played UNO and for each 1 and 8 any of them tossed down into the pile, you’d have to drink. That was all Valli’s idea to at least make this exciting as they all started to slow down for the night. After three rounds of UNO, they decided to call it quits and staggered upstairs to change into their PJS and wipe off any makeup.
“Have you guys heard of, we’re not really strangers? There’s like a friendship edition.” Kat asked, phone held up in the air with her glasses on as she rested on a pallet beside Lexi’s bed.
Cassie groaned as Maddy forced her onto her side, facing the bucket on the floor. She then put her back to Cassie, hands folded underneath her cheek as she checked in on Valli who was sitting up on her own pallet beside the blonde’s bed.
“I’ve heard of the game. I heard it can be pretty heavy depending on the edition. I always wanted to buy it but…didn’t have anyone to discuss it with.” Lexi said into the night.
That was sad.
“Well…now you do little lex.” Maddy stated, making the girl smile into the dim room.
“How did you get the questions, kat? If you didn’t buy them? You didn’t buy it right?” Lexi quizzed.
Kat snorted, “no. I have connections that sent me the PDF.”
“That sounds pretty legal.” Lexi had full sarcasm in her voice with wide doe eyes as the other three girls laughed.
Kat continued, “So everyone wants to try it out until we eventually fall asleep?”
“…Yeah.” Maddy yawned.
Kat was quiet for a moment, her eyes scanning her screen as the suspense was creeping on…until Maddy had something to say about it.
“Uh hello?! I just felt my tits drop to my hips waiting for you to start this shit, kat.” Maddy snapped her fingers.
“Jesus Christ, give me a second.”
“I don’t actually think that’s something you can feel.” Lexi mumbled.
Kat rolled her eyes at the two before she cleared her throat, “there’s some warnings before we start but the last one sounds the most meaningful to us. It says: friendships teach us what healthy love can look like. Invest in your friendships as much as you do your romantic relationships.”
“I’m a good friend right?” Maddy quickly sat up after Kat finished reading.
Cassie sighed, “the best.”
Lexi was confused on how she kept appearing into the conversation every now and then since she was completely shit faced.
“Of course you are Maddy. You always have our backs no matter what it is, even if you don’t agree—which you will definitely tell us that you don’t and make sure that we hear you.” Kat explained which made Maddy spit out a laugh, “you’re super passionate. Now that I basically just kissed your ass can I read the first question?”
“You may,” Maddy falsely sniffed with a wave of her hands.
Kat cleared her throat, bringing her phone back up to her face, “when do you feel most like yourself? Who are you with? What are you doing?”
“I feel most like myself when I don’t have to worry about the present. I don’t have to think too much about how things are but what they should be.” Maddy started, eyes shifting to the blonde beside her that went unnoticed to those in the room, “I would say I used to feel that way around a certain person but things change…it’s not Nate’s ass so don’t start. Lately these weeks I’d say the person that makes me feel like myself is Valli. When I’m with Valli. And when we can dance together on the side of the road in the middle of a thunderstorm, yes a thunderstorm, getting my hair soaked! no matter where we are to any song. I dance to put on a show but this girl? I don’t know if you guys know this but Valerie used to do ballet like—total elegant black swan shit.”
Valli smiled as she turned to Maddy who was already staring at her.
“Damn and I here I thought you would have picked me.” Kat snorted out a laugh, “but no I would’ve never guessed that you did ballet, Valli. Do tell. Was it anything like black swan?”
Valli laughed, “there’s not much to tell. I was always involved since I was young, my grandmother felt like it was a calling. She saw something in me so she signed me up. I enjoyed it and still find myself doing some of the techniques but the pressure and aftermath isn’t for me. I liked Rhythmic gymnastics more.”
‘That was vague.’ Kat thought.
“See.”
“Yeah, you’re in love with Valli and either you don’t see that or you’re trying to convince yourself that you’re not because of Nate’s toxic ass.” Lexi disclosed, making the room go silent again.
That honestly surprised Valli, she didn’t take Lexi as someone who easily spoke her mind.
Maddy threw the pillow behind her across the room in her direction, as if she was throwing one of the cheerleaders in the air, “bitch.”
“Someone had to say it.” Kat laughed.
“I don’t think you would have since you’re in the same boat as me, living a unhappy love life—yet you’re in a healthy relationship.” Maddy honestly said.
Kat sat up, “whoa what the hell was that for, Maddy? Why are you throwing jabs at me and Ethan?”
“I’m not?” Maddy blinked, “I’m just calling it like it is. Isn’t that something you just said that made me a good friend? Why do I feel like you’re about to turn this into something it’s not, kat?”
Kat scoffed, “because you’re attacking a relationship that has nothing to do with you! You should be happy that Lexi pointed out something you may or may not be oblivious to. Which also may not be a good idea.”
“Speak.” Maddy ordered.
Kat popped her lips, “I mean what do we even really know about valli? How do you know she’ll be better than Nate?”
“Is this some homophobic shit, kat? Because if it is, that’s pretty fucked up.”
“No Maddy, it’s not!” Kat yelled, highly frustrated, “I’m trying to be a good friend to you but something feels off with her. Nothing is a fairytale no matter how hard you might want it to be, sorry. I’d know.”
Valli held up a finger as her raspy voice interrupted, “did you forget that I’m right here?”
Kat harshly blinked as she focused on Valli who pulled the velour hair tie from her long highlighted hair, “I’m just saying most of us have been around since forever. We all know each other like really know each other. Maddy and I have been best friends since middle school, like all of us and you only just came into the picture freshman year.”
“So everything is timelines for you, got it.” Valli stated while Kat briefly thought about it, “I’m not trying to hide anything, you know what my brothers do—
Lexi also sat up but on her elbows at that, expecting the girl to elaborate.
“But I don’t really have to answer to you. Whatever personal issue you have with me kat, is on you. I don’t dislike you because you used to write gay fanfiction about one direction. That’s fine, your business. I don’t dislike you at all because I don’t have a reason to and I don’t know you…since I was homeschooled during middle school but you don’t know me.” Valli spoke, which earned confused glances from both Maddy and Lexi turn to a fuming Kat, “we’re all made of light in this extremely dark fucked up town and that’s what I’m focused on. I’m not worried about your friendship and since you’re so curious, I’m not trying to be Maddy’s friend either. I want to be much more and I promise it’s going to happen someday whether you like it or not.”
Kat swallowed and tossed her phone to the side, “whatever. I need to use the bathroom.”
“Kat.” Maddy called out to the girl but she just held up her hand and stumbled to one of the door’s in the bedroom.
Lexi pursed her lips, “well…I’m right then. Sorry? I’m gonna go to bed now so…goodnight.”
Maddy simply shook her head at the petite girl who plopped down, fully ready for bed this time due to the awkwardness. A minute passed before Maddy whacked Valli’s shoulder who frowned.
“Ow.”
“Did you really have to say all that? Kat’s kinda sensitive when it comes to love and friendships.” Maddy whispered.
Valli shrugged, “isn’t it healthy to be honest just like the game said in the beginning? She won’t die from me saying that ‘no she’s wrong’ about me. I’m a lone wolf so this whole circle thing is new to me but I’m not trying to prove anything to them. I’m here for you.”
‘Plus kat needs to start dedicating her time to figuring out whats going on behind closed doors between your old soulmate and Nate.’ Valli thought to herself as Maddy suddenly smiled down at her.
“Yeah?”
Valli nodded her head, “I been told you what we should be, what you’re worth to me. I’m still here, still waiting but I get it.”
Maddy moved to sit on her knees then leaned forward, gripping Valli’s shoulders and tugging her to the side of the bed. Valli’s normally wide-set eyes settled on Maddy’s Pearl skin, how her hair was almost completely out of her own hair tie and held a curl to the ends of her hair. She appeared so soft in middle of the night to Valli, as Maddy tried not to think about what could be holding her back.
Maddy trailed her fingers from Valli’s bare shoulders to cup her cheeks and placed her lips on her’s. Valli hummed as she placed her hands on Maddy’s thighs to slowly rest on her hips. Valli moved her head to the right while Maddy moved to the left and it felt like the dimness in The Howard sister’s bedroom became much brighter, beaming on only them.
It felt right, finally. Valli got her kiss and she wondered what Maddy could see with her lips on her’s but she figured she saw something as she pulled back with a gasp.
“What?” Valli asked, searching her face.
Maddy licked her lips, “I think I just c—I want our wedding in Vegas or Greece. Got that?”
“Mhm.” Valli squeezed her hips, yanking her down into her lap.
Maddy didn’t bother to cover her squeals as Valli laid back, one arm tucked behind her head while the other continued gripping Maddy’s waist.
“21st birthday plans?” Valli asked but not confirming who’s, in which Maddy didn’t hesitate to nod her head to.
Maddy held her hair back with both of her hands as she crouched forward, pausing in front of Valli’s full lips, “perfect.”
Pecking her lips multiple times, Valli didn’t stop her no matter the fact that she could feel her lips beginning to swell. She’s been waiting for this moment, to kiss Maddy Perez and to show her that she was her dream girl. And together they could be unstoppable, infinite.
Maddy found herself being the little spoon, tucked in front of Valli’s frame as they cuddled underneath the covers, ready to catch some sleep.
Kat eventually came out of the bathroom, her eyes sat on Maddy and Valli for a moment along with Cassie watching over her shoulder with a look in her eye that confused the short haired girl. She said nothing to Cassie as she continued walking by the possible new couple and moved by Lexi’s bed who lifted her head at her footsteps. Lexi also looked at the two and had a small smile on her lips, she waited for kat to get comfortable on the floor before she turned off the side lamp on her night stand.
“Happy birthday, Maddy.” Valli whispered before placing a kiss on Maddy’s ear.
The girl smiled, taking the hand that rested against her chest to place a kiss there in which Valli let a finger brush against Maddy’s dimpled cheek. Maddy snuggled back into Valli’s frame, her hair tickled against the tip of Valli’s nose but the pair were comfortable in the light that (unbeknownst to them) beamed as their aura together.

It wasn’t odd, you know?
Everyone always warned you. Stay away from Maddy Perez. She will never get over Nate Jacobs.
But you didn’t listen. You don’t know what it was. Maybe it was the fact that you were too fucking in love to keep your head on straight. Actually it was most definitely that reason.
And now every little thing in your body is telling you to that you should’ve listened the first time.
You were on a bike ride home with Rue, Jules, and Lexi when you saw them. She was leaning against the hood of his car and they were kissing. You were too busy looking at the two of them that you couldn’t see the trash can in front of you.
You crashed into the metal clanging against each other as you fell off to the side.
“Woah dude, you okay?” Rue asked, hopping off her bike to extend a hand out to you.
You looked at your arm to see a slight scrape, but other than that you were fine, “Yeah, yeah I’m fine.” the girls eyes landed on what you were looking it.
Was it just you or was it going in slow motion?
“Wow.” Lexi stated, “I really thought you changed her.”
“I’m gonna say something.” Jules said and you tried to stop her, but you know it was no use, “Hey dick face! You know that she’s dating someone right? You can’t go around and kiss other people’s girlfriends.”
Nate looked like the classic douche he was. With his ‘I could care less’ and his smirk on his face. While Maddy eyes just widened at the sight of you. She pushed Nate away quickly, but the damage was already done.
“And you!” Jules called out to Maddy, “I thought you were different. Despite everyone’s doubts about you and Y/N getting together, I stood by you. I was wrong.”
You hopped back onto the bike and waited for the rest of the girls to get on theirs.
“Y/N! Y/N wait!” Maddy called out and you turned to her with an empty smile.
You just shrugged, “It’s all good. We’re good. I’ll see you around Maddy.” her full name rolling off your tongue causing the both of her to wince. All you do is call her Mads or a pet name.
You pedaled as fast as you could away from the scene, letting out a deeper sigh.
“Y/N?” Lexi asked.
Trying to snap you out of the harsh memory of yesterday. You were sitting at lunch ignoring the girl you’ve been in love with for as long as you could remember. Lexi decided to spend the day with you instead of sitting with her sister and the rest of her friends.
“Sorry, yeah. What’s up?” you asked, running your hands through your face.
“Are you okay?” she said, her eyes filled with concern.
“Lex, you know I love you, but I don’t think that’s a good question to ask.” Rue spoke up, chucking to herself. While Jules looked like she was about to stab someone over there.
Maddy has tried talking to you all day. But every time you’d just walk away or shake your head unapprovingly or even Jules, Rue, or Lexi would stop her before she got the chance to speak.
Well that was working out well until all of a sudden you’re being pulled into a janitor’s closet.
“Woah!” you exclaimed as the door shut behind you. The small little light turning on to reveal the one person you were avoiding the most.
“Hey.” she whispered, softly. Her confident tone wasnt there, her voice was meek and you could tell she’s trying not to break. But you turned around and tried to leave, but she called after you again, “Please don’t go.”
You let out another sigh and faced towards her, crossing your arms over your chest. Patiently waiting for her to start talking.
“Oh, you’re waiting for me to talk. Um yesterday wasn’t what it looked like. I didn’t kiss Nate because I’m still in love with him.” you still didn’t say anything so she let out a sigh before continuing, “I kissed him because I was scared. I was scared because of how in love with you I am.”
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “That makes absolutely no sense.” you pointed out.
“I kissed him because I went over there to tell him that it was over. That I wasn’t going back to him anymore. I wasn’t going to keep the on and off with him because I finally found someone who I love and loves me more than anything.” she whispered, cupping your cheeks softly, “It was a parting kiss. It meant nothing to me because at the end of the day the person I was going back home to is you.”
She brushed the hair away from your face, tracing shapes along your cheek bones, “I love you Y/N Y/L/N, please forgive me.”
You leaned in towards her pressing a kiss to her forehead, “I love you Mads.”
“Still?” she asked, a little teary eyed.
“Always.”

I think it’s come to a point in which Rue isn’t the one on drugs, the writers are. Like wtf even is Euphoria at this point, I am so lost, the show has 0 coherence whatsoever.
Like there’s people out there stanning Cal, who’s abusive af to his children and disrespects his wife and SLEPT WITH A MINOR and recorded it and who is a GROWN ASS MAN; because he had an impossible high school closet love. But shittin’ on Nate (a teenager) for what he does to Cassie and Maddy (please someone get those girls a restraining order against him, like please. It gives me anxiety every time they share a screen, they don’t deserve this). Like dude, they’re both horrible people! What is this doble standard!? Like the whole point of Euphoria is that all men are shitty except for Fezco and Ethan.
And speaking of Nate, can someone like...explain his character at this point? What does he want in life? Maddy? Cassie? One episode Rue is narrating that he’s in love with Cassie, the next he’s begging for Maddy to take him back. TBH his father was right in one thing, he really is a mystery. I literally have no idea what his character even is, other than the 90% of the cast’s height (for real, Jacob Elordi is so tall and damn his jaw is a masterpiece)
Just like Jules. I am so confused by this point, they say one thing, show another, aim in one direction, double back. We spent and ENTIRE season on her and Rue getting together, and like...they literally haven’t been happy once. And what the fuck is Elliot?
And the Cassie storyline is driving me nuts. Like obviously there is an intention of showing just how hard it is to get your shit together when you’ve been through what she has, like it’s not that easy to say “I don’t need a man”. But like...You’ve got to make it engaging, you’ve got to make it dynamic, not repeating the same old routine. Right now, she’s saved by the fact that Sydney is one hell of an actress. Like her acting during Cassie’s mental breakdown is heartbreaking in the best possible way.
At this point, I’m just watching the show because of Fezco and Lexi and I’m not getting nearly enough of them.

Note
your cassie/Maddie tags are so important actually I love them
okay like i refused to watch this season (except for ep 7) because of the bullshit n*te/cassie thing, and all the shit she did because of THAT GUY got on my nerves. especially, like maddy said, when she knows what he put her through and she still did what she did. it's such a stupid storyline
like i get that the whole thing with cassie in s1 and this season is the she craves love and male attention but like. it would be so much better if she realized she only wants male attention because of the issues her father gave her. she never seems actually in love or attracted to any of the men she's with. her thing is wanting to be loved. and what if she realizes she already is, by maddy? it's not the type of love she wants, but it makes her realize she wants to be with maddy. that whole speech by the pool where she tells maddy she deserves someone who treats her right or whatever would resonate so much more if deep down she was talking about herself, that she could love maddy right, instead of it being for what? getting maddy to get over nate because she's fucking him? she's just literally a bad friend with the plot they gave her
and with maddy, maybe she's thought about the idea of being with other girls but never really thought about it because she's been with nate for so long and she really thought she loved him, but when she starts babysitting she notices she does have a crush on the milf and goes like. yeah, i think i do like women too
and there WOULD be tension between the two as well this way because cassie coming to terms with the fact that she never really liked men and she's in love with her best friend would definitely get her acting weird, especially around maddy, so the drama is still there!
and you cannot tell me that, in the actual canon of the show, that those two have never kissed. if even rue and lexi kissed, maddy and cassie DEFINITELY did. theirs is def that kinda gay friendship and in a better timeline it would actually be gay. "bitch you're my soulmate" WHERE DID THAT GO, SAM LEVINSON?????
and i sympathized so much with cassie's character in season one. like, i felt her. obviously i never went to the lengths she did, but i 100% understand the feeling of wanting to be loved. but then season 2 came and they decided to throw her at nate of all people???? she was acting like a clown, but after she said that the girls shouldn't believe rue because she's an addict when she outed cassie's relationship with nate, that was it for me
also, on a side note, nate jacobs eating pussy is the most unrealistic thing about season 2. i'm just saying, there's no way that dude knows what a clitoris is
they should have gone the gay route!!!!! i definitely don't think it would have been handled the best, but honestly, anything is better than seeing what we actually got

a/n: this post isn’t showing up in the tags and idk why😔😭
ive linked both the outfit and the makeup look, and will continue to do so in the future. this is mostly bc im not rlly good at being descriptive sorry 😔 . For the aesthetic and looks in particular i might link a lot of Cierra Nia, cus her vibe and fits are very much what i had in mind. (when it comes down to it a lot of the inspiration im going off of is very Kali Uchis, Princess Nokia, and SZA.)
ik that this kinda cuts into the inclusivity (w aesthetics and fashion sense at least, bc i understand that some of these outfits might not be smth other people are comfortable wearing), but even w the concept ill try my best to widen the range of outfits as i go forward
the chad bit is inspired by @yourlocalauthor
also... im lowkey loving Isaiah as a character and i might invest in him more than i planned to lmao.
summary: You get ready for dinner with the Cameron’s but you meet a certain Pogue instead.

one - ♫ Only in the West by Yeek  ♫
After being told that you would be interacting with people in just a few short hours you’d rushed off to your designated room. Your parents were generous enough to leave name signs on the doors (likely for the movers to put your belongings in the correct rooms) and you tore yours off the front before you slipped into the room, closing the door and locking it behind you.
You took in the room for a moment. It was already pretty much furnished, just not decorated or arranged in a way that you would like it to be. Everything was just kind of there, from the bed sheets to the vanity that you actually couldn’t really complain about.
Your suitcases had been placed at the foot of the bed and you moved to open the one that contained your makeup. You transferred your makeup products onto the vanity before a buzzing at your waist made you pause.
“Oh shit,” you pulled your phone from where it was being held against you by the waistband of your shorts. The FaceTime caller ID had “that bitch maddy ” displayed at the top of the screen and you cringed because she was probably pissed that you hadn’t been responding to any of their texts. Pressing the answer button you pulled out the little seat of your vanity and leaned your phone against the mirror.
“Oh shit, she answered!” BB’s voice echoed out of the speaker of your phone and you let out a laugh.
“Are you serious dude, we’ve been trying to contact you for hours,” Maddy drawled out, clearly annoyed.
“I just got to the house Maddy.”
When it came to your group of friends, Maddy Perez was someone who constantly sought for attention. This wasn’t shit talk either, it was just the fact of it. You’d been friends with Maddy for nearly your whole lives and something that she loved was praise and attention. You were one of the few people who knew how to keep up with some of her antics. You were also one of the few people capable of calling her out on her shit without her lashing out at you for it (Although the topic of Nathaniel Jacobs was one she seemed to be especially hard headed on).
The girls started to talk over one another, Kat’s voice drowned by the energy of Maddy and BB. You nodded along as you moved around in preparation. You’d stripped off the top you had flown in, tossing it aside in irritation and instant relief as the sweat that was being trapped in by the fabric immediately began to be cooled by the touch of the air conditioned room.
“I mean what the fuck right?” Maddy concluded her story and you could only imagine Kat rolling her eyes.
“Maddy the longer you complain about Nathaniel the more I begin to tone you out,” you admitted and Kat let out a laugh.
“Daaaamn,” BB drawled out from somewhere off screen.
“What the fuck (Y/N) you’re supposed to be on my side,” Maddy was clearly angered by your comment, you could hear it in her tone.
“Babe I am on your side. I’m on your side no matter what the fuck that psycho does. I just really don’t need to hear about what he does because it doesn’t change anything,” you leaned in close to the mirror to focus on your eye make up. You looked over at your screen for a split second and from Maddy’s body language alone you knew you’d eased her irritation.
“So (Y/N) how’s North Carolina,” Kat question, emphasizing North Carolina with a misplaced old-time cowboy-like accent. You’d only spoken to the movers from earlier so far but people from North Carolina and the Outer Banks in particular didn’t seem to have a distinct type of accent.
“It’s…” you leaned back to look at yourself and shrugged, “sticky.”
“Sticky?” Kat laughed and Maddy let out a small ‘ew’.
“Yeah. Yeah it’s sticky.”
_____________
It took nearly two hours but you’d finished getting ready and damn did you look good. You’d ended the call with the girls after they showered you with compliments and sentiment and you find yourself letting out a heavy sigh to try and release the tension in your chest. You missed your friends. You missed being a short drive away from Maddy’s house. You missed Kat and BB laying around in your room arguing about one thing or another. You missed sleepovers at Cassie and Lexi’s house. You missed heading out to the gas station and talking to Fez and Ashtray (which was an experience mind you). You missed the suburbs and not being on an island all the way across the country.
You missed all of this and you hadn’t even been on this island for a day.
A knock on your door interrupted the growing weight you could feel throughout your body.
“(Y/N), are you ready? We’re gonna head out soon,” your mother’s muffled voice called to you and you nodded before realizing she definitely could not see you.
“Yeah I’m good just give me a second!” you called back.
“Ok,” her voice drifted off and you took one last look in the vanity mirror, concluding that you definitely needed a full body mirror in this room.
For tonight you were dressed to ensure the weather on the island knew it could fuck off. Maddy had pleaded for you to wear one of the dresses/outfits she’d gifted you at your farewell party (although you’d specifically told her not to get you anything, you also weren’t gonna complain about the amount of money she’d made Nate drop just to get you presents). So there you were, dressed in a dark purple, suede-textured, bra top with a long pleated skirt that was a lighter, softer shade of purple. You accessorized with two different chains hung around around your neck, a purple bucket hat, a small light purple shoulder bag, white socks bunched at your ankles and silver sneakers. The look was topped off with your makeup matching the purple color scheme.
Concluding that you were good to go, you made your way out of your room and then out of the house. You took in everything as you passed it, from boxes that were yet to be unpacked to new pieces of decorations your old house definitely did not have.
“Y’know sometimes I wonder how it feels to need to take 3 hours getting ready,” Isaiah drawled from where he was leaning against the car, scrolling through his phone. He’d dressed in some cutoff tan pants and a polo with a logo that you couldn’t make out on the left breast.
“It would really help you out,” you shot back and he scoffed.
“My look is effortless ok, I have natural beauty-”
“Oh, natural beauty bullshit-”
“I’m not the one with layers on my face-”
“Say that the next time you wanna use my face masks-”
“Ok ladies! You’re both absolutely gorgeous,” your mother interrupted your bickering as she made her way outside, “Do you wanna know how I know because you both got it from me,” she struck a pose and you let out a laugh while your brother rolled his eyes.
“(Y/N) are you not gonna bring a jacket?” your dad questioned as you slid into the car. You blinked at him before turning to Isaiah who shrugged.
“You’re not serious,” you stated and your jaw dropped at the serious look on your dad’s face, “Dad you can’t be serious, it’s so hot.”
“(Y/N) you’re not even wearing a shirt, it would give me peace of mind if you had something to cover yourself up.”
See now, while your family got along well, there always was something within families wasn’t there.Your dad’s opinions always seemed to clash heavily with you and your brother’s (yours especially). The man disapproved of Isaiah’s group of friends and lack of participation in sports. The man also disapproved of your friends (aside from Kat and Lexi) and heavily disapproved of your fashion sense and the outfits you tended to wear. He usually didn’t have to see any of the outfits you wore considering he was at work practically all the time, but he always had something to say when he was present.
“Man people are walking around shirtless and stuff dad it’s fine,” Isaiah tried to defend you.
“I wasn’t talking to you Isaiah.”
Your dad was also the only person who didn’t call you or your siblings by your nicknames.
Isaiah rolled his eyes.
“Ok ok, it’s fine,” you’re mother piped in, “here (Y/N), you can have this cardigan,” You gave her a look of disbelief and she only shot you a pleading one back. Her expression alone told you, ‘please, just leave it’. You grit your teeth and snatched the cardigan from her, slouching into your seat aggressively as your dad nodded and started the car. Bea continued to watch whatever show she had preoccupied herself with and from the corner of your eye you could see Isaiah’s hand clenching and unclenching on his lap. You couldn’t see his face but you wouldn’t doubt he was as pissed as you.
_______________
The Cameron house was packed with people.
Well, not the house itself, but their large backyard was crawling with people. When Bea had told you that you guys would be heading to the Cameron’s for dinner you thought it would’ve been with the Cameron’s and the Cameron’s alone.
“Welcome to your welcome party!” a man walked up to you and your family and you and Isaiah shared a look.
“Ward, you didn’t have to do all this,” your mother laughed and the man waved off her concerns before giving her a hug in greeting.
“This was the least I could do for my new business partners. Now, this must be the (L/N) kids,” the man, Ward, turned to the three of you and Bea stepped up with the confidence that surpassed you and your brother’s.
“Hi I’m Bethany, but everyone calls me Bea!” she introduced and Ward let out a joyful chuckle.
“Nice to meet you Bea, I’m Ward Cameron. I work with your daddy.”
“I know,” Bea said matter of factly.
“Oh, well then, it’s still great to meet you. And you two are…?” He trailed off offering a hand out for your brother. Isaiah stepped forward, taking his hands out of his pockets and shaking his hand firmly.
“Isaiah,” he greeted with a nod and Ward nodded back.
“Then you must be (Y/N),” Ward guessed and you nodded with a polite smile.
“It’s great to meet you three. I’ve heard a lot of good things about you kids,” Ward praised and you tried not to roll your eyes. There was no way your dad was bragging about his kids and you assumed your mom just talked about your antics. She loved talking about your guys’s antics. Bea was likely the only one who actually got any praise from either of your parents at this point.
“Well there’s food on those tables, take as much as you want. Seconds, thirds, go crazy,” Ward motioned to the long tables displayed with food, buffet style, “Bea there’s a few kids over there who I know would love to make a new friend,” Bea ran off at that, “and you two. My daughter Sarah and my son Rafe are somewhere over there with some others your guys’s age. I know you guys definitely don’t wanna hang around when the old people start talking,” Ward laughed and your parents chuckled while you tried to hide your wince with a smile.
Ward ushered your parents off, leaving you and Isaiah to stand awkwardly looking over the crowd of people.
“Wanna go get food?” Isaiah offered and you nodded eagerly.
_____________
Kiara was on enemy territory. If there was one thing she definitely had not wanted to do, it was go to a Kook party (in Sarah Cameron’s house nonetheless) to welcome a new Kook family, but her parents practically threatened her. Now she was here, trying to avoid all the Kooks (i.e Sarah) while her parents mingled with other parents. Kie had done a pretty good job slipping off so that she wasn’t forced to talk to any one and was sitting on a chair that was basically hidden away from the rest of the crowd.
‘SOS. god pls get me out of here’ She texted her group chat with the other Pogues and threw her head back in irritation as she waited for a response.
“Y’know I think I just saw Chad, Brad, Tanner, and Hunter over there,” a voice she didn’t recognize startled her and Kie looked up as you and a tall boy made your way over to the spot she’d claimed. You were laughing, your cardigan sliding off your shoulders and both of you had a plate of food each.
“Yeah, they’re waiting for their homeboys Bryce, Brock, and Tucker,” you shot back and the boy barked out a laugh.
Kie smiled as she caught onto the jokes you guys were making. Yet her smile dropped as she realized that from your unfamiliar faces and your unique sense of style she could tell you two were two of the new kids from the new family. Aka the new Kooks who moved into Figure 8. Kiara’s phone buzzed and she looked down at it.
‘want us to crash?’ Pope had responded, though from how it was worded, Kie could bet that JJ had sent the message.
As down as she was for that, her parents were in attendance and they’d probably ban her from ever seeing her friends again (not that something like that would stop her).
“Hey uh,” Kiara jumped and looked up, making eye contact with you and your brother, “Oh shit sorry, we were just wondering if we could sit here?”
“Yeah no, go ahead,” Kiara motioned to the empty chairs.
“Thanks,” you smiled at her and Kiara admired your makeup now that you were much closer.
“I’m Isaiah by the way, but call me Zaya,” Isaiah raised his hand before motioning to you, “This is my sister, (Y/N).”
“I’m Kiara, but most people call me Kie,” Kie introduced and you and your brother nodded. Kiara’s phone buzzed again, drawing attention to it.
‘kie want us to come get u?’ John B texted. Kie quickly picked up her phone so she could respond, she glanced between her phone and you and Isaiah before deciding.
‘nah it’s ok’
‘?’ was the immediate response from Pope and Kie could almost hear the confusion.
‘met the new kids. theyre cool so far’
‘If you say so. But jj says dont fall for it’
Kie rolled her eyes but could understand the sentiment. She told them not to worry about it before putting her phone off to the side. You and your brother had started a different conversation while Kie had been otherwise preoccupied. Kie watched and listened to you two talk, justifying that it wasn’t eavesdropping since you’d come and sat with her in the first place.
“That sounds dumb but ok,” you offered and Isaiah scoffed.
“I mean I looked up if there was one around here but there isn’t so what else am I gonna do.”
“Sorry, what isn’t here?” Kie interrupted, curious about the context of the topic. Isaiah glanced at you before turning to Kie.
“Skate park,” he answered, “There isn’t one in the Outer Banks so I could just street skate, but there’s nowhere to drop in. But I was also thinking of just going somewhere and bombing a hill.”
Kie wondered if she was losing her mind. She knew there wasn’t a skate park on the island, the closest one was on the mainland. Most people who skated rode on longboards rather than actual skateboards and as far as she knew most people in the OBX just preferred to surf. But what had lost her was “drop in” and “bombing a hill”.
“Closest skate park’s on the mainland,” Kie confirmed and your brother seemed to deflate.
“You skate?” You questioned and Kie shook her head.
“I’m a surfer. Not much to do when you live out here,” she joked.
“No shit?” you asked and Kie looked up in thought but shrugged.
“Well me and my friends, we usually either surf, or we go out to the marsh. We swim, drink, smoke. Either out at the marsh or just at my friend, John B’s, house. Sometimes we throw keggers. Have bonfires. We usually know how to occupy our time,” Kie wondered why she was speaking to these two so comfortably.
“Parties?” Isaiah questioned and Kie winced.
“Aside from keggers, people on the Cut don’t really throw house parties. The Kooks are always throwing stuff like this though,” Kie nodded over to the event that was meant to welcome you and your family in the first place. You glanced back at the party/gathering that you’d practically forgotten about. Since you’d arrived you and your brother actively avoided interacting with the teenagers all dressed like they were pledged into Kappa Beta Who Gives a Shit.
“Sorry, Kooks?” Isaiah questioned.
“Oh um...Kooks are like the rich people, anyone who lives in Figure 8. Boarding schools, trust fund money, private tutors,” Kie explained.
“So...we’re Kooks? Because we live out here?” you questioned incredulously. Kie nodded her head and you raised a brow. Sure, you weren’t poor, you’d already established that. Back in California you lived just a few houses down from Cal Jacobs, who owned practically the entire town. You acknowledged that you were definitely more financially privileged than some people, but you’d never had the luxury of going to a private school (shoutout to East Highland) or having a private tutor. And even with as much money as your parents seemed to make, the idea of a trust fund was laughable.
“OBX is kinda split. John B always described it like...two tribes, one island,” Kie smiled as you and your brother gave her deadpanned expressions, “So y’know who the kooks are, but the other half are the Pogues. Basically the bottom of the food chain. Pogues live on the Cut, the poorer side of the island. Kooks and Pogues don’t really get along.”
“I’m gonna be completely honest with you, that’s like the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard,” you stated bluntly.
“Wait is this like...Soc’s versus Greasers? Like The Outsiders?” Isaiah questioned and Kie’s eyebrows furrowed at the comparison.
“You're telling me your whole island follows basic labelling like it’s an 80s high school movie?” you questioned in a state of shock and all Kie could do was nod. Kooks and Pogues and even Tourons were just something people knew growing up in the Outer Banks. She’d never really let it sink that other people probably found the concept ridiculous.
“Do you have bad experiences with...Pogues or something,” you questioned and Kie shook her head firmly.
“Nah, I’m no Kook. They’re entitled, narcissistic, assholes.”
“So you’re a Pogue? Then why are you here?” Isaiah laughed and Kie slumped in her seat.
“My parents forced me here. I go to school with these assholes...but I’d never be like them,” Kie shook her head as she caught sight of kids she recognized from the Kook academy. Her family was less upper class, and more working middle class if she really thought about it. Unlike a lot of the highly privileged Kooks, Kie knew what it was like to need to work for the money they had.
“So then how’s being a Pogue going for you exactly?” you questioned. Deep down you knew that  you probably shouldn’t have been entertaining this whole Kook vs. Pogue thing but you’d also never encountered an entire county of people that was so blatantly classist.
“Literally great. I surf all day, I get to hang with my friends. The best part is that it’s away from all of...this,” Kie motioned to the crowd that you had separated yourselves from, “Speaking of, we’re actually having a kegger tomorrow. Would you guys be down to come?” Kie looked between you and your brother.
“Uh yes, please,” you were quick to answer and Kie laughed, “Honestly I was preparing myself for the most boring fucking summer of my life, but I’m really glad we met you,” you admitted.
“Definitely won’t beat back home though,” Isaiah mentioned and you groaned. The thought of missing all the parties that were probably being thrown back in California made you frustrated.
“Man don’t remind me.”
“You guys moved here from California right?” Kie asked so that she could keep herself in the loop. It wasn’t hard to pick up that you and your brother tended to go off into little conversations of your own but she understood that it was probably because neither of you knew Kie and therefore didn’t know what to bring up in conversation. Kie was an extroverted person but this was something she noticed Pope doing a lot.
“Yeah, LA actually,” Isaiah confirmed, “Definitely not ‘Paradise on Earth,’ but...”
“There’s no place like the Outer Banks,” Kie said, though the sarcasm dripped from her entire being.
“Meh,” you shrugged off with a tone of disinterest and Kie laughed wholeheartedly.
_________
The three of you ended up talking for the entirety of the night. Kie was determined to stay completely hidden away from the rest of the party’s residents, meaning she had kept herself planted in her chair for quite literally the entire time you guys were there. Isaiah, being how he was, had gotten up a few times to get more food or to grab something new to drink. He had come back with something for Kie each time.
Kie was interesting, she led the conversation a majority of the time and constantly kept it flowing. You appreciated someone who could work past awkwardness and still keep up a conversation. You ended up exchanging phone numbers and social media and had talked about a whole lot of shit; from keggers, to your outfit, to how moving felt. Isaiah and Kie had even gone on a pretty long debate about music, (something about the top 5 albums of all time, or was it how meaningful a playlist was? or maybe it was about whether it was ok to separate an artist’s actions from their music?).
Kie was a down to earth, do shit for herself, actions speak louder than words kind of girl. She spoke her mind about everything she was passionate about and though you weren’t preaching about sea life and turtles, you could obviously understand where she came from with her frustrations, you’d just never really met anyone who was so deeply passionate about it.
The feeling of your phone vibrating against your leg took your attention off of Kie.
“Hello?” you answered it and Kie paused.
“(N/N)! Where are you?!” Bea’s voice screeched and you furrowed your eyebrows in annoyance.
“I’m with Zaya, we’re sitting by like some trees, I don’t know.”
“Mom says we’re leaving right now!”
“Bea stop yelling,” you said firmly, “Ok, we’ll just meet you guys by the car then.”
“Ok!” your sister yelled and before you could snap at her she ended the call. You shook your head and put your phone into your bag.
“We leaving?” Isaiah asked and you nodded as you gathered yourself and your belongings. Kie began to clean up as well, standing up and helping you and your brother out while you gathered up the empty water bottles and cans of soda. Now that Kie was standing you could see that she was actually a little taller than you originally thought.
“It was really nice meeting you Kie,” you said sincerely and Kie smiled. After the three of you cleaned up she helped lead you guys toward the front of the house without having to deal with whoever was left over at the party. You wondered for a moment about how she was pretty familiar with the layout of the home.
“I’ll see you guys at the kegger tomorrow?” Kie asked.
“Uh, where’s that gonna be again?” you questioned as you spotted your family’s car.
“Oh it’s on the Boneyard,” Kie explained and you only stared at her blankly, “Ummm, y’know what. I could just pick you guys up?”
“Yeah for sure,” Isaiah said and you tried not to think about how weird it was going to be arriving at a party at the same time as your brother. That was something you tended to avoid doing when you were back home considering you usually went with your friends.
You and your brother bid Kie goodbye. You’d never been the type of person to initiate hugging, so when she gave the two of you a wave you found yourself just waving back awkwardly.
Now you were settled in the car, heading back home after a ridiculously tiring day. Bea was going off on a tangent about one thing or another and Isaiah had fallen asleep, wedged rather uncomfortably against the car door. You were texting in your group chat, telling them all about Kie, Kooks, Pogues, and everything in between.
You wondered if you could finally get a dog.

Honey, I think We F*$#@# Up the Kids
The thing about this class that is really awesome is the fact that I can take a day to myself, watch movies and still call it homework. Euphoria took me a couple days of binge watching but still, it was nice to relax and take in films that I would have never watched on my own.  Some I enjoyed like MID90's, some I did not, KIDS. Like I said in my last post, I would not want to watch that film again. I have no real reason as to why not other than the fact I just did not enjoy watching it. Well the scene where Capser sucks kool-aid out of a tampon, yeah that could be a reason why not to watch it again.Everything else was really good though, then again I could watch The Breakfast Club all the time.
As a common theme of these posts I have a list of questions that I am required to answer next to me. After watching these films/tv shows, the character that I identified with most is a combination of characters. Specifically from Euphoria because honesty that show is pretty close to society today. Kat is someone I can easily relate to because when I was in High School, I was very much overweight. I never noticed it because I was surrounded by friends that didn’t make me feel overweight. Like Kat, those friends were really skinny and included me in things like going out and having a good time. I forgot what year but sometime during high school I met a kid who I fell head over heels for, similar to how Jules fell for “Tyler”.  However, I wasn’t catfished or anything like that but I was very manipulated by this dude, let's call him “Tyller #2”. . We were never together but I was like his side chick in a way. Similar to Jules, “Tyler #2”  convinced me to do things that I would never think of doing but being in a vulnerable state at the time, it was easy for him to take advantage of certain situations. For the first time I was very conscious of my weight, and tried all the dieting techniques out there and none of it worked. I eventually ended up being with someone else who actually made me happy and confident. But “Tyler #2” got under my skin again and I eventually broke up with the dude I was with under the false promise of being with “Tyler #2”. For years I was under this man-child's thumb and like Kat I spiraled, desperate to try and find myself. I would confide in friends and they would tell me to get away from this dude but I never listened. This kept going on for years. I ended up becoming friends with some not so great people because of it. Thankfully I got away before anything super awful happened. But back to “Tyler #2”. It was about a year into college that I got over “Tyler #2”, and that's because I woke up one day. I will never forget this but I remember him saying to me, “Maybe you should lower your standards and then you can get a guy”. I don’t know why that hit me so hard but in that moment I came to this realization that I shouldn't have to lower my standards for anyone, if anything I need to raise them. And that is exactly what I did.I blocked “Tyler #2” from all my social media, and when he called me out on it one day I looked at him and said “you are a disgusting, sad piece of shit”. After that moment I felt free. Like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I ended up losing a lot of weight and gained confidence back in myself. I found someone who exceeded my standards and I've been with him for three years now. I haven't seen or spoken to “Tyler #2” for a long time and I hope to keep it that way. There are things I know he has done to girls he was with, things that should have gotten him charged with assault but, of course nothing could ever be proven. That's why I can identify with Kat, Jules and come to think of it, even Maddy.
I guess that goes into the themes these films/tv shows portray in youth. Abuse, Social Pressure and Sex. When I would watch things like this around my parents or brothers when I was younger, they always gave me a look of shock and disbelief. As if things like that don’t happen in today's world or ever happened. And of course when trying to explain to them that things like that happen, they get defensive or even a bit disappointed that issues were never brought up. I think that’s because things like this aren’t  easy to explain, it's more than words can explain. A lot of it has to do with social pressures today, I mean social pressures such as the pressures of getting good grades, meeting parental expectations, peer pressure and massive world pressure that is being forced on us today. Euphoria didn’t go too much into detail of social pressure as much as it did with abuse and sex but The Breakfast Club on the other hand oozed it. For example, characters such as Claire, Andrew and Brian each went through their own pressures. For Brian he is pressured by his mother to get good grades no matter what, eventually the pressure of failing a class was too much for him and he brought a gun into the school. Yes it was a flare gun but the principle is there. In an article from the Pew Research Center, a study showed that “61% of teens today feel pressure to get good grades” That alone can cause anyone to go off the edge not to mention the public expectations put on youth, for example, Andrew having to win and prove to his father that he is cool. And how Claire values what her friends would think if they knew she wanted to be friends with the others. All those things are sometimes built up in one person and it's absolutely terrifying. The Guardian article on how Euphoria captures teen melancholy briefly mentions how we are a generation of school shooter drills. (I don’t know if that is meant as a description of how we are as a generation but that's not the point of trying to make). What I am trying to get across is that social pressure placed on youth today is scary, especially since there was a time where every few weeks there was a school shooting. I don’t want to get into gun laws because that is a long post for another day. I just want to get into the mentality of it all because The Breakfast Club highlights an important issue to mental health and what kids even now go through.
I remember being in highschool and my school had a serious shooter threat. My parents still sent me to school because they felt that nothing would happen. Nothing did but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t absolutely terrified. I did not attend any classes that day, instead I stayed in the band room that day because if anything were to happenI could hide in a cubby or run out the back door. Even more recently a few years back when SUNY Orange got a shooter threat, I didn’t even go and neither did a lot of people.
I am so thrilled that mental health awareness is something that is being recognized and taken seriously. The stigma behind needing therapy and vocalizing feelings needs to end, especially the stigma of gender roles. Abuse is a theme that is presented in all the films/tv shows watched this week. The Breakfast Club shows insight on domestic physical abuse through John, Euphoria gets more into the psychological, emotional, physical and self abuse that teens go through. This theme especially is something that needs to become more recognized and addressed. Abuse is not just physical, it is mental and emotional. Nate abuses both mentally and physically by using Jules as duct tape to make problems go away by black mailing her. With Maddy he uses his control physically, verbally assaulting her about how she dresses, oh the list can go on and on.
Sex is a common theme in all the films/tv shows this week and that is something that every teen goes through. At that age your body goes through changes and it’s only natural that it is explored. In todays world sex is not much of a taboo like it was for our parents. But at the same time I feel that it is. When I was in highschool sex was not talked about. It was mentioned once in health class but that was it. No one went into detail, there was no explanation about stds, how females need to check for things, the list goes on. KIDS was a film that went into sex way more than all the other films/tv shows. It highlighted the horrors of unprotected sex, such as contracting HIV. As much as I disliked this film it is one that needs to be seen. The lectures talk about the “Disneyfication” of things today but it's that way of thinking that is hurting the youth of today. I can understand that parents don’t want their kids going through such trama at a young age, but if they are not being taught properly, not being educated they are going to find out on their own. Any issues kids face today parents right it off as a “part of growing up” but when your kid doesn't know what a condom is, or how to properly use birth control what do you expect is going to happen when the daughter is pregnant or the son has an std? That is not a part of growing up, that is just pure negligence on the parents and teachers. I could really go way into more of a rant but I feel that a topic like this needs its own blog and this one is already long af. Here are links to videos that I watched that go more into detail about education today. I promise they are not that long.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnC6IABJXOI
Long story short, abuse, social pressure and sex are themes that kids face on a daily basis. It’s amazing that there are shows out there like Euphoria or films such as KIDS and The Breakfast Club to make it known that this is real. The world is a scary place, but that does not mean censoring that bad stuff. It means that the youth need to be prepared for a shit world, and if they’re not shown or educated about things before the fact then honey, I think we f*$#@# up the kids.
To make this whole post a little lighter let's just talk about the music, the Euphoria soundtrack was all of today's music, which if you listen to half of them its all about getting laid and doing drugs. Sort of on theme of the show don’t you think? For MID90’s the soundtrack fitted the “skater” “punk” theme. A soundtrack is something that can spark a memory, make it feel relatable. Take you back to a time where you had a similar experience. For example, certain songs I listen to take me back to when I used to be at Billy Joes in Newburgh line dancing, getting wasted and then eating pancakes at the Alexis Diner. It makes me think of what kind of playlist would describe my adolescence. Oof, well isn’t that a trip down memory lane.
I grew up listening to metal, my brothers have their own metal band, so I would be the only toddler sitting on the amps coloring not giving a shit about all the grimey people in the audience haha. It would be only fitting that my playlist would consist of metal & rock. However, as I got older I enjoyed pop songs and a couple edm mixes. My list would probably be:
Fame - David Bowie
ARTPOP - Lady Gaga
Bring Me to Life - Evanescence
Everytime We Touch - Cascada
Evil Angel - Breaking Benjamin
Forest - System of a Down
Hype - NEFFEX
My Curse - Killswitch Engage
Nightmare - Avenged Sevenfold
Shout 2000 - Disturbed
https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/my-adolescents/pl.u-8aAVVgafjg0W9A
These would be songs I would listen to non-stop as teen in middle school/ high school. “Fame” is a song that just makes me dance. I mean who doesn’t love a good David Bowie song right? “ARTPOP” is something that brings me back to when me and my uncle went to NYC to see Lady Gaga at the opening of H&M. “Bring Me to Life” is a song that honestly, all kids that are exploring metal/rock come across, the same is said for “Nightmare” and “My Curse”. “Hype” and “Everytime We Touch” takes me back to when I used to go to parties. I don’t know why but these were songs that would be on, I think because everyone was probably too drunk to care. “Shout 2000” is a song that my brother introduced me to, he would have this specific Distrubed album playing non stop and im sure thats why the CD got all scratched up. Ahh the days of CD’s, I feel that I’m part of the generation that saw the last of those things. “Evil Angel” is a song that I played all the time on my ipod. Breaking Benjamin was the best band I ever heard and when I got the chance to see them live it was amazing! As for “Forest”, well, System of A Down has such a chaotic, emotional style that you can’t just help but to headbang to their songs. This was always one of my favorites. As I got older my music taste  has expanded to musicals, classical, pop, jazz, kind of every genre but country haha. Sorry country.

jules x reader where rue and reader finds out about what nate did to her (at the lake and the blackmail stuff) and jules comes to the reader for comfort and nate gets caught it’s okay if you can’t do it lol, thank u so much tho!
I’m not Gonna Let Anyone Hurt you
Jules x Reader
requested!
AN: I’m so sorry this took so long! School has been kicking my ass as of late! I hope this is what you wanted!
Tumblr media
You notice that Jules has been acting weird ever since the night she met up with “Tyler”. You try not to pry, but every time you ask she just dismisses you or changes the subject. You decided it’s time to get to the bottom of it all and call up your friend,Rue.
Rue invited you to her house, so the both of you could figure things out.
“Hey y/n,” she hugs you “come in we’ll start in my room.” With that, you follow Rue to her room.
From the jump you had a bad feeling about this “Tyler” dude, but you could never tell Jules that. She was happy and that’s all that mattered to you. At this moment, you wished that you spoke up. Jules started hanging out with yiu and Rue less, and if she did it wouldn’t be for very long. Deep down inside you know not to get hurt that she doesn’t wanna be around, but you can’t help but feel hurt.
You plop onto Rue’s bed and stare at the ceiling. “Where do we even start? This seems impossible!” You sigh.
Rue sits next to you and puts her hand on your shoulder. “Trust me, we’ll figure it out.”
After hours of piecing the puzzle together, you guys finally think you know what is happening.
“Holy fuck!” You scream.
“What? What happened?” Rue looks at you slightly startled. You turn to her and look into her eyes.
“It’s fucking Nate Jacobs!” You sherik.
“I’m not following.” Rue looks at you even more confused.
“The “Tyler” kid! It’s Nate fucking Jacobs! I mean come on this man has a personal vendetta out against Jules ever since she came to this town! It just makes sense.” You explain more until it all starts to come together.
“Holy fuck, It is Nate Jacobs. He’s fucking sick! What do we even do now? We can’t just go up to Jules and be like I know what happened.” Rue sighs as she paces the room.
You have absolutely no idea, but you need to figure it out, and soon.
The next morning, you’re awaken with five missed calls by Jules. You were about to call her back when you heard your front door bell ring. You get up to open the door and see a distraught Jules at your door step. You don’t even say a word, you just take her into your arms.
“Why don’t we head to my room, okay?” You kiss her forehead and take her hand, leading her to your bedroom.
Your heart was beating out of your chest. It seems that every time you’re around her you forget how to breathe. Every linguring touch and smile permanently ingrained in your brain. The two of you finally reached your room and laid on your bed. You decided to let her talk when she’s ready to. Right now, you just need to be the shoulder that she could cry on. You turn your body to cuddle her and wipe away her tears. A few moments pass when she finally calmed down enough to talk.
She explains everything from the beginning to the end about what happened at that lake. Rage engulfed your body the time she finished. You knew Nate needed to rot in jail for what he’s done to not only Jules, but to so many other people. Jules could sense that you were starting to get upset, she took your face into her hands and just looked into your eyes.
You don’t think you’ve ever felt the way you did at that moment. No matter how hard you try, you don’t think you could ever explain it. Laying there with her in your arms just felt right. You were sick of just waiting around for the right moment to let her know. Before you could over think it and change your mind, you connect your lips to hers. The kiss was gentle yet urgent. One of the best feelings you’ve ever felt are her lips. You pull apart and look into her eyes for any sign of remorse, but you can’t find any.
“Jules I want you to know that I’m not gonna let anyone hurt you anymore. I love you and it hurts me to see you like this.” You wipe her tear and bring her back into your chest.
“I love you too.” She whispers before falling asleep.
The next few weeks are rough, but you finally did it. Nate Jacobs was taken to jail after more people came to stand up to his misconduct. They found the footage from the carnival of him choking Maddy and other evidence. From that and the others, they deemed him as guilty. You and many other people felt like a weight was lifted of your shoulders. You made a promise to Jules and plan of keeping it for a long time.

thehollowprince said: And I also stand by the opinion that they could have just done a solo run of the O5 X-Men starting a new timeline with the information they got from the future.
thehollowprince said: Its not like Marvel doesn’t constantly do AUs and retcons
OMG Josh you have no idea how bad I wanted this. They could’ve done SO MUCH with that concept. Letting the 05 keep their foreknowledge and the world they could have created with that?
They could’ve averted the initial Krakoan mission and saved Darwin, Gabe, Petra and Sway in the first place. They could have all been X-Men from their Day One, Scott and Alex would have actually gotten to KNOW their brother and Gabe quite possibly would never have gone full Dark Side despite the writers apparently now seeming obsessed with the idea there’s just something innately bad within Gabe that’s always destined to bear fruit at some point, ugh, whatever, like who do you think you are, Kant?
They could’ve recruited the Giant Size X-Men lineup earlier, and saved John Proudstar, who side by side with his brother Jamie, are a force to be reckoned with.
They could have convinced Pietro and Wanda to join them instead of the Avengers and been like no but seriously that way lies nothing but shitty storylines and bad decisions that will be blamed on you by your teammates despite the fact that any and all of the bad decisions that were ACTUALLY yours could have been averted if any of your teammates were capable of functioning as an actual support system. Come join us. We have actual support systems, except for the times when we don’t, but we recruited Deadpool to break the fourth wall and he and Logan are currently cutting through the ranks of every writer who would write as hating and fighting each other instead of being a loving fucking family goddammit.
Jean could have faced the Phoenix head-on when the time for that came, using her knowledge of the future not to fear an inevitable death, but rather to know she had nothing TO fear, that the power to not control this force, but just be ONE with it, with no NEED to control it or be controlled by it, a symbiotic union, two beings in harmony deciding on courses of action together. The Phoenix’s innate powers and prerogative of rebirth and destruction tempered by Jean’s mercy, aimed and focused by Jean’s reason, the double-edged sword that is fire capable of warming homes or destroying them completely combined with Jean’s conscience guiding it to use its power for the former rather than the latter.
They could have stopped the Legacy Virus from getting out and killing millions as well as spared us from migraines induced by an AIDS metaphor so shitty at being a metaphor most people forget it was literally written to be an AIDS metaphor.
The body swap would never have happened and Kwannon could have joined the X-Men as a full member from the time she was introduced, rather than dragged along in the wake of Betsy’s tangled storylines for a couple decades.
They could have stopped Fitzroy from killing the Hellions. Hell, if they train Illyana early enough and have her mentored by Wanda who is perfectly fucking competent when left to her own devices, then like, maybe they can even take a jaunt to the future to save Fitzroy from dying in the first place and being resurrected with no soul. Not gonna lie, ever since then I’ve kinda been seriously interested in what the hell would a hero version of Trevor freaking Fitzroy even BE like, y’know? Call it morbid fascination, but like. I kinda want it, guys. LOL.
Add to that note, they could have taken another jaunt to the future and rescued Rachel from being made into a Hound by Ahab. Through the power of some convoluted plot tangle I just made up for convenience, Scott still ends up in a relationship with Maddy briefly, in one of those self-fulfilling prophecy type things where he went into it with the full intention of just averting the future and saving Maddy from her fate as the Goblyn Queen, but somehow ended up in a love triangle with a very alive Jean and Maddy who is fully informed of Sinister’s shenanigans and quite displeased with that asshole, and look, I don’t know how all of this goes exactly, but let’s cut to the chase, my only real endgame with this is making sure that Nate’s born properly, saved from Apocalypse and the techno-virus by the combined efforts of Scott, Maddy and Jean as well as Uncles Warren, Bobby and Hank, and Jean calls up the Phoenix through some psychic bond or whatever and is like hey girl, can I hit you up for a loan real quick? Got some losers that need toasting.
And in this AU the Phoenix totally has her back, and one brief cosmic power-up and gratuitous Sailor Moon transformation later, Jean glows and intones some epic one-liners with appropriate gravitas, and then just punts both Apocalypse and Sinister to the far side of the universe, never to be seen or heard from again. They like, hit a black hole on the way there I guess. It was very sad. Violin strings may commence with the requiem. Okay that’s enough, they can stop now.
So then through the plot contrivances of fuck you, I said so, Scott and Maddy ultimately part amicably and Scott and Jean get back together and the three of them civilly co-parent both baby Nate and Rachel, as Maddy keeps the healing powers she gained as Anodine and stays with the X-Men for her own reasons.
The telepaths are all better trained by the expertise Jean gained in her powers while in the future, so the next time the Shadow King comes bumming around looking to cause chaos, Betsy, Emma and Jean just look at each other and laugh and say nuh-uh before psychically squishing him into a marble.
Warren never becomes Archangel. Onslaught isn’t a thing. They make nice with Magneto and say okay you may have a couple points, let’s discuss. Bishop arrives in the past for reasons totally unrelated to his original story, has no traitor to seek out among the X-Men, and thus he and Gambit end up besties in complete defiance of that stupid fucking story and because I just think they’re neat together. Yes I said neat. Gambit and Bishop are just neat. Deal with it.
Bishop still hates that Fitzroy guy though, he’s like, I don’t even know what it is about that guy, he just rubs me the wrong way, even though Fitzroy is not evil here and has always done good with his powers, which are channeled through a device Forge made him that lets him just absorb life force from a wide range around him, spread out and diluted enough that its like, the grass feels weird for a second, like whoa what even was that, and then its over. Actually, y’know what, scratch that. Fitzroy’s powers are stupid and unnecessary the way they are now anyway, so fuck it, this Fitzroy doesn’t need life force or whatever, he’s just a dude who makes time portals. He’s like Illyana with green hair and that ugly goatee. Hey I said this Fitzroy was non-evil, not that he was perfect.
Bobby’s out and proud since he was sixteen, and with actual competence and proficiency with his powers, which make him a Literal Unkillable Gay Icon, he’s an inspiration to LGBTQ+ teens everywhere and inspires other gay, bi and trans heroes to come out. He’s a big brother figure to all the baby gays that later join the X-Men, like, Rictor comes to him for advice back during the time equivalent to early X-Factor, when Rictor’s a trying-too-hard sixteen year old who thought college age Bobby was like the coolest, which is valid, because X-Factor Bobby was like A+ Bobby characterization and deserves more reads.
So Rictor comes out earlier as well, and by the time they even meet Shatterstar, instead of a slow burn friends to roommates to lovers scenario, Rictor takes one look at the love of his life and wastes no time coming out swinging with an absolutely terrible pick up line. Look, I said his big brother figure Bobby was out and proud in this AU, not that he magically had a better sense of humor. Some things just don’t change, y’know? Luckily, Shatterstar is a weirdo, and thus he finds terrible pick-up lines charming. At least when its Rictor saying them. They walk off for a first date, already practically hand in hand, voices fading into the distance as Rictor asks “By the way, have you met Dazzler yet? According to Bobby, apparently she’s your mom. That Longshot dude with the mullet over there is your dad I guess. We should go say hi.”
Hank gets an assistant hand-picked by the rest of the original X-Men, and who has one job and one job only. To follow him around and observe all his experiments, and he has veto power over experiments that People With IQs As High As Yours Should Know Better But I Guess You’ve Got Reed Richards Syndrome.
Hank’s like, “Hmm, if I built a time machine I could go back to the Jurassic Period and observe whether my theory of - “
Hank’s assistant: “Veto.”
“Damn. Okay I was also thinking of making a deep space communicator that can reach into the farthest reaches of space beyond any known civilization and just say hi, y’know? See if anyone’s out there.”
“Veto.”
“If I combine these genetically modified antibodies here with this strain of of DNA from - “
“Veto.”
“Well Forge built this device that does this to mutant powers but I think I can make it do - “
“Veto.”
“These nanobots I - “
“VETO,”
“Honestly, at this point I think you’re just saying that just because you like saying it.”
“Dr. McCoy, I promise you, I’m really, really not.”
Logan finds out about his future clan of stabby children, and seeks them out. He rescues Daken from Romulus, somebody stabs that loser with the immortal-killing sword, I don’t even care who, and after a few tense months of Logan trying too hard, he and Daken eventually bond over how hockey just isn’t violent enough. If you’re going to make a sport all about hitting each other, just really go for it or don’t even bother, y’know? Logan claps him on the shoulder and sniffs. That’s my boy. Then they find and rescue Laura and Gabby and take a road trip to Earth 1610 to pick up Jimmy. They have a house on campus, and new students walking by it are used to hearing loud growling and even howls. They were assured during orientation that that’s nothing to worry about, it just means the House of Snikt are watching a game and are rooting for opposing sides.
Emma’s recruited practically the day they get back. She’s only just started at the Hellfire Club and has only done a tiny bit of Evil when Warren schedules an appointment with her, and then he, Scott and Jean make a better pitch than Shaw and his ilk could ever match. They’ve been to the future. Come join with us and we’ll give you an all access pass to memories detailing exactly what’s going to happen in these particular areas and many more. All you have to do is ask. Oh and also please don’t seduce any married teammates. Its bad form. To be honest, I don’t think it’ll be an issue because Deadpool assures us Morrison has been taken care of, and don’t worry if that makes no sense to you, its a head-scratcher for us to. Just roll with it.
Nate ages normally here so its not like he ends up besties with forty year old Wade, but the latter having his own plot-contrived knowledge of the future because He’s Just Like That, decides that he won’t be denied at least SOME kind of bond with The Bestie That Wasn’t. He becomes Nate’s official babysitter. Well, not official, seeing as how Scott, Jean and Maddy don’t hire him and are very clear that their son is not to be left alone with this man at any time, he is a terrible influence and he keeps giving our kid guns. But then Wade just shows up anytime they’re out because he just has a sixth sense for Making Trouble, and he terrifies away whatever babysitter’s there and greets the returning and exasperated parents with a cheery wave.
“I know what you’re going to say, but don’t worry, we didn’t do anything dangerous or against the law. All we did today was I taught him to make bombs, but we were very careful, we wore safety goggles and really, they were very little bombs. Not even anything atomic. I honestly don’t think any of them could have even blown up this whole house, and I’ve been meaning to say, I’m not impressed with the structural integrity of this place. Couldn’t you have picked something with a sturdier foundation? Its like you don’t even expect random space mercenaries to attack your place out of the blue every other month. Have any of you even read a single issue of your own comics?”
Scott’s jaw twitches Ominously. Wade starts gathering up his things. Jean rubs her forehead wearily.
“Wade, what do you even think ‘dangerous’ means?”
Wade pauses and cocks his head. Gives it a solid twenty seconds of thought. Then he shrugs.
“I don’t know actually. Don’t think I’ve ever really thought about it. I always figured it was just one of those things people just say. Like, ‘oh, it looks like rain today,’ even if they’re not a forecaster and have no real meteorological credentials to speak of. ‘Oh, this mission will be dangerous,’ and I don’t even have to use up all my ammo and I only get shot twice. Y’know?”
“Leave,” Scott says. More like intones. House shakes a little bit but that might just be Wade’s imagination. Its very active.
“Leaving!” He says hastily. He jumps through the closed window and then teleports away amid the falling shower of broken glass. Why didn’t he do that while he was still inside the room? No one knows. Not even Wade knows. Why did the chicken cross the road? Who the fuck cares, now is it Original Recipe or Crispy?
Scott, Jean and Maddy search the house while Nate angelically claims they won’t find anything, Wade doesn’t even bring him cool stuff anymore cuz he knows you’ll just take it.
Maddy finds a high-tech laser space gun under a floorboard in the closet. She holds it up with one eyebrow raised pointedly. Scott and Jean flank her and their own eyebrows raise in solidarity. Well Jean’s does. Scott’s probably does but its hard to tell sometimes. Depends on what glasses or visor he’s wearing.
“That was already there,” Nate tries. Most powerful telepath and telekinetic in the world, but the kid can’t lie for shit. There’s not much point in trying when one of your moms is the freaking Phoenix, and that’s a skill that takes practice he just doesn’t have.
The three sets of parental eyebrows make a V, judgingly.
“One month of no video games or TV?” Okay, so terrible liar but quick on his feet. At least he knows when he’s beat and jumps straight to trying to shape his own punishment proactively.
“Two months. And no flying lessons either,” Jean says. “And don’t pout at me, young man. You know the rules. No weapons inside the house unless your grandpa Corsair is visitng and we’re too tired to fight him on keeping knives under his pillow. This is a Do As We Say, Not As We Do house. Deal with it. Now, this is going with the others and you can have it back when you’re eighteen.”
It would have been three months, but Jean and Maddy caught a telepathic sniff from Scott. He’s just so proud of his kid thinking so tactically. He’s growing up so fast. Both women mentally roll their eyes. Why is he like this.
“I don’t see what the big deal is anyway,” Nate sulks. “Its just a stupid laser gun. I mean, Uncle Gabe blew up our last house with his brain.”
“Yes and it was an accident and he feels absolutely terrible about that which is why we’re not going to bring it up when he and Armando come visit this weekend, right?”
“You can have my full compliance for two weeks off my sentence.”
“Or we can have your full compliance or two weeks will be added to your sentence,” Maddy says.
“You guys suck,” declares the ten year old vessel of near unlimited psychic might. He goes to his room, stomping all the way up the stairs so his grievances can be heard even by the House of Snikt next door. Course, they’ve already been listening to the whole thing with their enhanced hearing. There was nothing good on TV. Jimmy made popcorn and chewed with his mouth open just to piss off Daken.
‘The second Father leaves the room, I am going to stab you in such a slow healing place you’ll still be bleeding at bed time.’ Daken mouths at his little brother from another universe. Jimmy scrunches his face in confusion.
‘What?’ He mouths back. He’s terrible at reading lips. Or anything that isn’t skateboarding, really. And yet Father’s so happy that ‘at least one of my kids is content with stupid normal stuff and doesn’t go around drawing cover fire just because a mission is going so well its boring and they haven’t even gotten to pop their claws out yet.’
“That’s only because you’ve coddled him. He’s barely ever even been shot at. Just the one time on vacation in Majipoor and he wasn’t even the target, the assassin was aiming for me. If you would just let me take him on a proper outing to gain some real experience - “
“Not gonna happen.” Logan shuts that down real quick.
“Really Father, just look at him. He has zero situational awareness. I’ve been glaring a hole in the back of his head for a full minute now and he has no idea. That could just as easily be an actual laser scope, you know. He’s a disgrace to the whole family.”
“Daken, we’ve been over this,” Logan says firmly. “You have your sisters to bond with over gratuitous violence. Leave your brother alone. I don’t want anyone traumatizing him until trauma finds him all on its own. It’ll happen sooner or later, he’s as much a part of this family as anyone and that means its as good as done already, so there’s no need to hurry it along. If later on he decides he’s got a taste for it, you can take him on all the outings to get shot at that you want. But he’s gotta figure it out for himself first, and he doesn’t need his big brother being the one who introduces him to all that. He idolizes you, you know.”
Daken scoffs. He can’t even get the brat to chew with his mouth closed.
“He cut his hair from that style he liked so much, just because you hated it so much,” Logan says obliviously. Daken nods like he’s conceding the argument and hastens from the room while he can still keep his mouth shut. It won’t benefit anyone at this point to tell their father that Jimmy really only cut his hair because Daken told him he would set it on fire if he didn’t.
Ugh, families are the worst. Don’t even get him started on Laura stealing some of his clothes to wear without asking. And then has the gall to yell back at him when he yells “Silk! Its the finest cut of silk! Does that mean nothing to you?” at her.
“Oh get over it. Its not like I asked for killer robots to interrupt my date.”
“Of course they were going to interrupt your date with that Julian boy. I keep telling you, he’s a magnet for trouble. I can tell. I’m one too, remember?”
“Fine, whatever, you’re right and I should just expect every date with Julian from now until the end of time to end with fire and disaster.”
“Well now you’re being melodramatic. There’s no way that boy makes it past twenty five. He doesn’t even have a healing factor.”
“Why do you hate him so much anyway? If you’d just give him a chance - “
“What are you talking about? I give him a chance every single time he’s here and I don’t kill him.”
“Ugh, I can’t even talk to you when you’re like this. You always do this, you just decide on something and then you commit to that like the fate of the world depends on you standing firm on what’s usually a completely arbitrary decision in the first place!”
Daken sniffs. “I can assure you, there’s absolutely nothing arbitrary about my disdain for the Keller boy.”
“His name is Julian,” Laura enunciates with a glare.
“I don’t care,” Daken enunciates with an expression of lofty superiority.
“You two are so dumb,” Gabby says from the end of the hallway. They both turn identical glares on her. They’d noticed her arrive several minutes ago but they weren’t about to be distracted from their battle of wills. “Laura, you know Daken isn’t actually going to kill Julian. He doesn’t do that anymore except for really bad people sometimes and he just talks about stabbing people or killing them cuz he thinks he’s funny and then he gets all pissy because nobody ever gets that he doesn’t really mean it. He doesn’t even hate Julian and he used to be fine with him before he started dating you, its just he doesn’t think he’s good enough for you.”
Daken frowns at the petite would-be peacemaker. Meddlesome toddler. “What are you even babbling about? None of that is remotely true.”
Gabby rolls her eyes up at her brother from her much lower height. She taps the side of her nose with emphasis. “You do know we all have the same abilities to smell and analyze scents as you do, right? And you know everything you can tell from peoples’ scent, right? Of course I’m right, I can smell it as clear as anything and so can Jimmy and Dad and we actually all know this and talk about it all the time, and its why Dad never actually gets mad at you for talking about killing people because he can smell you’re saying it just cuz you’re used to saying it but really you’re too marshmallowy on the inside now to do half the stuff you claim you’re gonna do. Hate to break it to you bro, but you’re a closet softie and you’ve been made. The nose doesn’t lie. Only reason Laura doesn’t know it is because you piss her off like its your favorite hobby and its probably impossible for her to smell anything beyond her own scent of Royally Pissed Off.”
Ugh. Meddlesome insightful toddler. Who asked for her intervention anyway? Daken crosses his arms in a way that’s decidedly aloof and not at all sulking.
Laura’s staring at their sister assessingly. “That’s really what you think is going on? And Jimmy and Dad think so too? You’re not just saying all that?”
Gabby bats her eyes up at them. “Would I lie to you?”
“Yes,” Laura says without missing a beat.
“Without a shadow of a doubt,” Daken says dryly, right on her heels.
“For the sake of a candy bar,” Laura adds, because that really did happen.
“Or just boredom, because god forbid you pick up another hobby that isn’t just Chaos.”
“This from the guy who only has fun when there’s blood and bullets flying about,” Gabby fires back from a position of petite petulance.
Daken smirks down at her. “Didn’t you just say I don’t really mean it when I say all of that?”
Gabby narrows her eyes. “Touché. My own words thrown back at me. I am undone.”
“Yes, well - “
Daken’s cut off as Jimmy chooses that moment to walk past them down the hallway to the bathroom. He’s laughing and shaking his head.
“You guys are both so dumb. She plays you like this all the time, and you never see it.”
“Silence, mortal!” Gabby thunders at their brother menacingly. The effect is somewhat diminished by the fact that she can’t hit a baritone note to save her life.
“No, I’m interested in hearing what he has to say,” Daken says coolly. “For once. This is a moment without precedent and one unlikely to occur again, so let’s explore it a bit.”
Jimmy sighs and shakes his head without ever losing that amused smirk. “Had to tack on that last part, didn’t you. Just couldn’t help yourself.”
“I am a faithful student of the Truth,” Daken says, matching his brother smirk for smirk.
“The point, Jimmy?” Laura prods aggressively before that can erupt into a wholly separate thing she wants no part of.
“Oh, right.” He shrugs nonchalantly. “Its kinda her thing with you two when you get like this. You pick a fight with Laura, Laura gets pissed off and succumbs to the family curse of Tunnel Vision at the Worst Possible Time, and you both go back and forth endlessly and like you have all the time in the world for your stupid tete a tete, because on account of you both being practically unkillable and immortal, you kinda do and you know it. And then whenever she gets bored of listening to you two, Gabby swoops in and draws both of your attention until you’re both so focused on being annoyed with her you don’t even realize you’re actually side by side agreeing with each other, and she keeps it up just long enough til she’s sure she can just say she’s bored now and just leave the room, leaving you both annoyed and frustrated by a fight you can’t even claim to have won because she really just kinda...left, in the middle of it, and you’re so focused on that, you’ve totally forgotten to be pissed at each other. And by the time you do remember, like, the moment has passed and peace has been returned to the kingdom. Or at least as peaceful as this place ever gets.”
Daken stares at his mistake of a brother in the hopes that if he stalled long enough, his senses would arrive at a different conclusion. But nope. Scents don’t lie, unlike baby sis, apparently. He’s telling the truth. And Daken really does not....care for that conclusion.
Gabby stamps her foot and glares up at their brother.
“You are such a tattletale. I am providing a service, by keeping this family free of these two constantly at each others throats, and how is that service repaid? With betrayal! I hate you, you’re dead to me. Never speak to me again or at least not until I’ve stopped being mad at you, but that could be like ten years or something, I don’t even know right now.”
She draws up to her full height and squares her shoulders as she thunders this Mighty Mouse style at the still laughing Jimmy. Then, seeing she’d yet to make a dent in his armor of amusement and he was failing to take her pronouncement seriously, she punctuated her declaration by spitting on their brother’s shoe. Daken’s eyebrows shoot up again, this time in amusement of his own. Gabby then spins around on her heel and stalks off down the hallway, muttering more dire threats under her breath as she goes, the sound of them nonetheless carrying clearly to three siblings with enhanced hearing of their own. And apparently, little sis could be quite creative. Who knew she’d been hiding such talent?
Jimmy barely even notices; he’s still staring down at his shoe.
“Dude, you spit on me! That’s so not cool.”
“Some things need to be expressed so strongly, mere words will not suffice,” Daken says loftily, savoring a slightly renewed sense of superiority.
One quickly dashed, of course, because apparently he just can’t have anything.
“Bold words from the seventy year old who needed the sixteen year old to clue him in he’s being regularly manipulated by the twelve year old,” Jimmy fires back. As a return volley, its obnoxiously effective, and Daken’s still grinding his teeth and searching for an adequate rejoinder as Jimmy just grins even wider and then strolls off down the hallway as well. Whistling either an absolutely hideous song or else proof that he’s absolutely hideous at whistling. Tough call. With him it could be either.
Daken and Laura both stare after him in silence as he rounds the corner and disappears, leaving only the lingering scent of smugness in his wake. Daken hates the scent of smugness. It has a particularly....cloying feel to it. Well not his of course. But everyone else’s, especially little brothers? Acrid is the only word adequate for that.
“Sometimes I really do want to stab him. Just a little bit. And I’m not even lying,” Daken says. Laura just nods, her own nose scrunched up in distaste as well.
“Honestly? Me too.”
Brother and sister enjoy the rare moment of solidarity.
“You know what’s really bugging me?” Laura says suddenly, still staring off down the hallway. Daken turns an inquiring eye on her, prompting elucidation. She frowns.
“Where the hell did he learn a phrase like tete a tete? I mean. Its Jimmy.”
Daken does know what she means, and frowns as the nagging awareness of that leaps from his sister to himself like memetic chain lightning.
“And he used it correctly. That’s....unexpected.”
“Sometimes I wonder if maybe he’s not as completely airheaded as he pretends, and the fact that he’s got everyone so convinced of that actually means he’s running circles around the rest of us,” Laura says. She shrugs. “Of course, then I have to question everything and who has that kind of time and also the very idea of genius mastermind Jimmy disturbs me on a deeply visceral level. So then I just. Stop doing that.”
Daken nods and sighs. “Sometimes, that’s all you can do.”
“Okay, this is annoying. I kinda still want to fight, but now fighting with you feels kinda anticlimactic. Ugh, siblings are the worst,” Laura declares with a glower. “They ruin everything.”
“On that, we can agree. With allowances for temporary occasions of some of them being bearable,” Daken says. “Some.”
“That’s the nicest thing you’ve never said to me, big brother,” Laura says lightly. Daken swiftly scowls but she holds up a hand to forestall any rebuttal. “Sorry, don’t mean to ruin the moment. I’m thinking about how else we can put all that frustrated energy to good use. Wanna go pick a fight with the Summers’ kids?”
A slow smile spreads across Daken’s face. “Well now. Finally, a family outing I can get behind. I believe that’s precisely what we need right now. Care to lead the way?”
He still hates her boyfriend, of course, but he supposes he can let that be.
For now, at least.

hi, i’m rereading mia and rt and i’m just wondering which characters are oc’s and which are actual people? bc you don’t use last names very often and i figured out yungblud and all time low and ashton and calum pretty quickly (actually quicker then i figured out jawn, lucas, zakk, and travis but mia was the first fanfic i read coming into the fandom oops i was so new i knew nothing) but it took me a while longer for some of the other people such as jb being jon bellion
this is always such a fun question!! and yeah, no last names because awsten doesn’t know/care haha.
clara rose is original. and otto’s parents, geoff’s family, ida jones from across the street lol. clark, everyone who works at the library and the sheriff’s department, mr. harrison and his son colt. the school counselor is an oc.
zoey from bible study is based on an old oc from fics on my ao3 that i just deleted. “zoey’s friend” is another oc from that same series based on demi lovato haha. awsten never talks to her, so she doesn’t get a name.
lucas and zakk’s families are all original. no one in awsten’s family is based on anyone real, although i figured out last year that in my head, a therapist i saw for a couple years is cast as his mom lol
leslie is an oc but she’s laura dern in my mind. travis’ siblings, nell and benny, are both original. ashley’s brother is an original character. mrs. chang who owns the yogurt place is original, and so is the guy from the newspaper and everybody who works at carson’s. emily is original and didn’t start out this way but is now cast as liv haynes.
i guess just assume that lakeview people are generally mine haha, especially if they showed up in rising tide. i will now contradict myself immediately.
maddie who works at the yogurt place is maddie rooney from liv and maddie on disney channel
maddie at school needs a new name, but she and chloe from geoff’s class are maddie and chloe from dance moms (for you dance moms fans, there’s a reference to jill and kendall and kendall’s sister ryleigh at one point lol)
taylor is taylor swift
hayley is hayley williams
max who i just recently added as an aide is maxx danziger
bran who is also (an aide) new is zach dewall from set it off but i renamed him because i already have zack and zakk. his name is brandon but they call him bran.
brendon and ryan are from patd
mr. o’callaghan is john o’callaghan from the maine
everyone i mention at the beginning of p&p is based on someone, either irl or a character (justin, kingsley, shane, etc.)
aunt tabby is tabitha brown
chance is chance sutton from team 10 pls kill me hahahaha im so sorry i just think hes cute and his name was perfect and his face when he was young is great for what the character is and idk i just thought he was a good fit for what i wanted. i was originally just using his name but the more i thought about it, the more perfect he became.
i posted about this on the mia instagram when it happened, but the old music therapist, cady, whom jawn has a crush on, is based on cady groves, who died at the beginning of may this year :(( she was 30
carter is very, very loosely based on carter hardin (yes hi i am admitting this now). mostly just using his name + face.
rob who runs tag is rob damiani, the lead singer of don broco
big t who works with jon is not called big t in real life. his name is travis mendes, and he works with jon (bellion) in real life. they make music together.
nate from bible study is nate kulina from kingdom which is my favorite tv show of all time. they just added it to netflix and i know you’ve probably heard me say it 80 times but if you’re old enough to be comfortable with tv-ma i HIGHLY recommend it
this is kind of funny and also kind of bad but eduardo from bible study is loosely based on eduardo from foster’s home from imaginary friends. he’s a big dude and he’s shy outside of bible study. he feels really at home at futurefaith <3
jake is whoever you want him to be. ashley is whoever you want her to be.
i know im probably missing like a thousand people!! but this is what i have for you right now. if you want to know about anybody specifically, please let me know! :)
