Every time I hear the news anchors saying Brian Thompson left behind a wife and teenage children, it fills me with rage.

How many parents did his and his company’s actions rip away from THEIR children? How many children did their actions rip away from THEIR parents? How many people did he and United Healthcare fuck over without remorse, all in the name of profits?

Medical professionals and political figures and citizens alike all TOLD YOU that you were wrong, and yet you stubbornly persisted? All in the name of greed?

This is why nobody is mourning him. This is why the country is mocking and celebrating his death. This is why people are making other CEOs publicly known. People get screwed over by healthcare insurance companies every DAY and not one of those corrupt bigwigs bats an eye or feels any modicum of guilt. The people have had enough. You all should’ve known this would happen someday. In an age of unprecedented gun violence and civil unrest, this is what you asked for.

but also k getting majorly injured and the first thing out of their mouth is telling lemli that they have to lie and tell evan that they're fine. broken ribs, flat on their back, blood coming out of their mouth, knowing what evan will do and k trying to stop a thing that has already happened in the time it took for them to land.

did k ever see evan kill anybody while they were together? i know we're down with murder because fantasy but also, we all agree it's not great for evan's mental health to do a murder, right? and i really don't agree that it's love for k motivating him to kill because k doesn't want that for him. evan killed philtrum because philtrum needed killing and he has assigned himself that role. he would have taken her out, potentially nonlethally, as soon as they saw her if it weren't for their directive from dr. boodle. i think k is entirely incidental to his motivation, tbh. he goes cold when he goes into his shadow. i don't think what he's feeling in that space is anything that i (or bell hooks) would call a love ethic.

I’m thinking it’s more likely this was a legit attempt, but in comparison to the last attempt I think the evidence for it being staged is way stronger. It was on Trump’s own property aka a way more easily controlled environment, the guy was much further away than Crooks was and he never actually got any shots off so no one even got hurt, he survived long enough to be taken into police custody, and this is all happening less than a week after a very bad debate performance and an endorsement from a woman so influential we have the data to name an Effect after her. Like again I think it’s more likely a legit attempt but either way it’s still a nothing burger.

I mean, didn't Trump and Vance just tell us to "get over" gun violence and that it was a "fact of life" in between their busy schedule of inciting racist mobs on Springfield, Ohio?

Did something change between now and then when the MAGAs are suddenly so concerned with preventing white Republicans from having access to guns?

Former President Donald Trump used his Truth Social account to “retruth” a supporter’s meme calling for the imprisonment of Vice President Kamala Harris, President Joe Biden, and other prominent figures. A review of that supporter's account also found numerous calls for Trump’s political opponents to be killed.

This isn’t an aberration. Media Matters recently documented that Trump promoted an account which spews the N-word, praises Hitler as a hero, and denies the Holocaust. Trump has also frequently interacted with the account Patriot4Life, including this month. That account has repeatedly promoted calls for political killings, including recently retruthing an image calling for Harris and Gov. Tim Walz to be killed.  Trump has promoted another Truth Social account that calls for Democrats to be executed. [...] The Trump-promoted “Proud American” account (“Proud_American1776”) has repeatedly posted calls to kill Trump’s opponents.

Ok so, I've kind of mentioned it already in my two kinda long fuck-off rant posts, but I have very specific thoughts on Operatorture. (i.e. the event we see in Entry 65, where the Operator teleports Tim around and basically tortures him.)

This is obviously very different from how the Operator will take dying bodies to the Ark, and my theories on its purpose tie into my greater theories around the Operator's nature.

See, I think the Operator is almost like, this massive animal we can't comprehend. It isn't quite eldritch, because eldritch monsters don't care about humans (that's like you caring about an individual atom in the air) but it is paranatural, as in above or beyond nature.

We never see its full body, but the Ark is it's face in an abstract sense, the center its throat, the Operator one cruel hand.

I think, somehow, it feeds off people. Not in a literal sense of eating our muscle and sinew, but in the sense it feeds off the human mind. It rips away your very self for scraps, strips you of your sympathy and passion—a process that leads to someone getting exceedingly agitated and paranoid and more or less falling apart on a mental level.

My main point towards this theory is Alex Kralie himself. Sure, maybe he might've always been a bit of an jerk to some extent, or entitled, or whatever! But in Entry 54, we get to see Alex before this all happened, and he seems to be a regular, sarcastic kind of guy. He was passionate about a project that definitely was too grandiose for what they had, but that's pretty normal, especially fresh in college. It is only after prolonged Operator exposure and it stalking him that he really fell apart though.

But, while exposure to the Operator causes obsession and paranoia though, (probably in part due to it being beyond human understanding,) that doesn't immediately turn you into a violent dickhead! Jay is a text book example of that, he is only violent or aggressive until after Entry 72. Before then, he is rather passive and quiet—not meek, but definitely quiet with how he is just willing to follow Alex around and slowly try to wheedle answers.

In that very Entry though, Jay does disappear out of the blue when he and Tim are fleeing Alex's house, and when Tim turns back to find him, he seizing on the ground in front of the Operator. In my opinion, its possible and even likely here that the Operator could've briefly taken Jay here, given how he just vanishes before his seizure, which we have seen happen to Tim when he was taken too! (Honestly, his seizures could only be as bad as they are because of how often he was taken as a kid.)

The strange part though is that for Jay, even when he gets Tim's seizure medication, there is a remarkably negative change in his self and attitude as opposed to with Tim. He is extremely out of it, more so than his paranoia has ever left him before, and in Entry 75, he attacks Tim over a tape of all things! Tim, who, mind you, has continuously looked out for him and who Jay has continuously worried about until now.

I think would make sense that the Operator incites violence in people vulnerable to it through Operatorture though. After all, if it can feed off dying people (as we see it probably doing with Jay in Marble Hornets comic 3.5, ToTheArk) then of course it would want those vulnerable to it become violent and take down as many people as possible! It is like this animal that just wants to eat and eat and eat.

An important thing to note though, is that after the incident where Jay attacks Tim over the tape, he regrets it and tries to call him, the Operator's conditioning of him isn't absolute and some of his self remains. But then however, the Operator shows up and he is made to have a seizure again. To me, it is almost is like it is purposefully doing this to him to break him down and cause him to be more and more violent, and it succeeds because after that incident he tries to stab Tim!

In season 1, only see a small fraction of the tapes from the filming of Marble Hornets the in universe media, and in my opinion it is more than possible that Alex's violent tendencies only started after he was taken by the Operator himself and Operatortured. We know based on entries like 70 that it was probably possible for the Operator to take him! And in Entry 66, Tim even implies he thinks Alex was/is getting Operatortured, when he asks, "what if what happened to me is happening to Alex right now."

Even into season 3, it almost definitely seems to continue to wear Alex, as he starts to corrupt video at all times rather than just when he is angry, and he seemingly gets more and more unhygienic. (He is living in Tim's attic, not getting new glasses after Brian knocks his off in Entry 67, etcetera.)

The Operator tears people apart with its torture, tears away their self like meat off the bone, and the man we see is practically a husk. That is why despite being able to talk as he died, he is animalistic and screaming in the Ark, in Comic 3.5 of Marble Hornets, ToTheArk. The Operator has taken everything from him but fear and confusion, these base instincts.

What a horrible fate.

Attention all operators: in an effort to showcase all staff functions on Rhodes Island, the HR office has generously shared the process by which operator code names are accepted based on three major guidelines:

1. A code name is not duplicative of a code name already issued

2. A code name is not a vulgarity or profanity including a swear or curse word, or scatological term, not usually displayed in the community for general viewing.

3. A codename is not obscene or otherwise contains material of sexual suggestiveness in that it refers explicitly or by euphemism to a sexual body part, a sex act, or the availability for sex

Inspired by @ca-dmv-bot, y’all liked that post enough for me to make a whole blog for it!

(I’m not actually a bot though I’m a real human person.)

You can submit canonical or fanmade operator names- If it’s a fanmade name, hit us with some background! If your operator is a canon character, you can either submit the name by itself or you can write the reasoning in character too. Our lovely HR representative will fill in the rest.

Ground rules:

No real-life slurs (unless you’re like, one of two operators who exist in this game) (in which case, you know who you are and localization should change your name)

Maximum of five different operators per ask

Since these are forms the characters are filling out, soft character limit of ~50 for each explanation. I’ll hold myself to this as well.
