I’m glad you like them! That last anon question made me think of something I’m going to have to deal with eventually, though. I mostly write paranormal romance and my intention was to use Tumblr like my note board in my office- that’s what these snippets are- scenes I want to get down so I remember them and can expand them into a coherent story later- I have an AO3 ready for when I start doing that, but because of what the story arc will eventually lead to, it’ll be 18+ I’ve been avoiding writing anything… er, let’s say “spicy” here since I really don’t know the demographic on Tumblr and I’m not interested in corrupting/ mentally scarring preteens or kids. Though, to be fair, I imagine putting a warning up over there is exactly as effective as adding one here.

Starscream x Reader- trust

• How can you ease him with such a small thing? Just a touch, given freely. Because you might care. He needs to believe that, needs this to be real, not all just an act to save yourself and stay in his good graces. Needs someone who needs him. The truth, though? He doesn’t know and that doubt lingers in the back of his processor as he lays flat on his back, a servo tracing along your back as you sprawl on him alongside his canopy. He can feel every little shift of your small frame against his, your breathing and the beat of your heart. Those sensations now familiar as the pulse of his own spark.

• He’s calmer now, but quiet and that doesn’t sit well with you. It genuinely hurt him that you’d assumed the worst. And even if he hadn’t hurt anyone, you’re sure he still destroyed someone’s home. It’s a reminder that he doesn’t actually care about humans. For whatever reason, you’re the exception. The one left holding his leash while knowing you can’t actually hope to rein in his behavior. Can’t hope to control him. That servo traces the curve of your shoulder. Down the line of your spine. Every stroke seeming to calm that awful anger more. When he vents, the warm air washes over you, stirring your hair. And if you have his leash, he has yours. How can you ever try to really escape when you know he’ll go on a rampage? You’re not even sure that you want to anymore and when did that happen? With that realization comes the one that whispers that you can’t keep writing it off as Stockholm’s. You do care for him as stupid as it probably is.

• Rumbling softly when your head lifts, the slide of his servo pauses because you’re staring at him and he isn’t sure what to make of that look on your face. “What?” He growls, immediately wary. His wings try to shift even though his position restricts them when you carefully stand, a hand on his canopy for balance as you walk closer to his head and sit on his plating where his chassis and neck meet. Still staring at him and he has to tuck his chin to see you.

• That confusion edged with annoyance is almost cute as he frowns at you. Trying to figure out what you’re doing, just like you are. There’s so much you want to say. To ask in that moment, as fragile, new thoughts flutter through you. And it passes, because you can’t risk ruining what you have. It matters to you more than it should. So you just lay a palm on his face, lean down and press a soft kiss to his warm, metal chin. “Thank you for taking care of me,” you whisper instead of those dangerous, soft things you can’t let loose.

• Watching you retreat back to your original spot on his chassis and then lay down on your side with your back to his canopy, he doesn’t move. Not until your breathing eventually evens out and he’s sure you’re not awake. Then slowly so he doesn’t disturb you, he touches his chin, warmth spreading through him at that little display of affection for him. Venting, he lets his head fall back to stare at the ceiling as something stirs in his spark, kindling in the quiet and he lays a hand over your little frame to keep you safe.

Hi. I saw ur iterators and they look cool i wanna know the lore(tm)

OOO YES YES! Imma ramble about off the string au too, so putting the explanation of the au before oc lore, if you want to hear just about the oc, feel free to skip the off the string hcs! (note: a lot of my oc lore is rather long, and hard to type out in one go, i will most likely be typing up about an oc with shorter lore)

So first; how does off-the-string work in my au/hcs:

The consciousness and subconsciousness are evenly spread out throughout all of the iterator's systems and mechanisms! Usually the puppet is just used for communication, and to express the iterator's personality. Without the puppet it would be rather difficult to communicate. Now you see: the puppet can be detached from it's mechanical arm, this is most often done in maintenance or during really fancy ceremonies. To go off the string, you need to put your whole consciousness into your puppet, and then detach it from the mechanical arm. The structure would still be up and performing vital functions, however would be in a "sleep" state. You can still vaguely feel your structure if you are off the string.

Although this sounds easy, it really isn't. Since the iterator as a whole is HUGE, they'd need some time to adapt to the limitations of the puppet. They are now on the same level as an ancient, or the animals that walk beneath their structure, which can be rather difficult to adjust to if you're used to being a mechanical god. (think of it like putting all your consciousness into the tip of your finger, you're so so much smaller and vulnerable now) Note: the iterator is also now hyper-aware of their puppet since all of their consciousness, and thus attention, is in their puppet (instead of being spread out like in the structure). (Also another small note I am unsure of where to put: in my hcs, the iterators sort of have a connection to their neurons similar to bluetooth, which means that if the structure is still standing, they do not need to take their neurons along while going off the string, as they'd already have that long distance connection to the neurons) If a disconnection is done right, it is 100% reversible! Just attach the puppet back to it's mechanical arm, and everything would be just like before the iterator detached it's puppet. However if an iterator disconnected improperly, it will be rather difficult to spread their consciousness back through their structure. Also if you die off the string, your consciousness will simply go back to your structure, and you'd need to make yourself a new puppet.

As for why an iterator would need to go off the string:

Many many reasons, some iterators are just curious, others want to see if they can ascend (any void related death will cause ascension for ancients and biological organisms. Several iterators have tried to test if they'd ascend by losing their puppet to the void sea.), and some have been falsely advertised to. Not too long after Sliver's ascension, there was an event labeled the "Disconnection Obsession", where iterators would go off the string to test the aforementioned theory. However there was also a rise of false advertising, with off the string being painted as a vacation or a new solution, and of course you'd want a vacation after some real boring work. Unfortunately off the string is far from a vacation...

Onto OC lore:

I'll be talking about CV! As it's lore is currently one of the only things thats on my mind, and that I can coherently tell through one ramble. Following the disconnection obsession event, CV had gone off the string to test out if the theory of losing your puppet to the void sea will ascend an iterator (probably not be at least CV is being hopeful). Or well, it more so thought it needed to test out this theory. Unfortunately CV was brainwashed by it's council to have the extremist ascensionist views of the world. Deep down it never really had any interest in ascension, it had more interest in archiving religious history to be honest. So CV went off the string with it's neighbors (Visions of Issues Unforeseen, Grim Speculations), and originally it planned to go to the void sea, but overtime it wanted to stay with it's neighbors more (who it became rather good friends with). I nicknamed the trio "The half-group", since originally they were a separate group from DAWNS_ABOUND, before the two groups merged for political allyship back when the ancients were around. Putting this map here as well! The two collapsed iterators near the half-group are early prototypes, who collapsed even before GS (oldest of the half-group, the second model of gen 2 ever made) was built. Early prototypes never really have a long lifespan unfortunately.

I'm Asexual aromatic but Flirting, touching, and other things that can be taken as romantic are purely natural to me. For me it's never serious just another way for me to show interest and have fun with friends. This has actually lead to issues with a few friends in the past. Unknowingly my blind ass would have people genuinely romantically and sexually interested in me and I wouldn't know. It honestly does feel confusing, and in the strangest way violating when you find out. (Can't think of a better word than violating but I don't think that quite gets the feeling across.)

With the way you phrased it actually made me more understanding of how Alastor can just push Vox away, and resonated with me lol.

Put in the same situation I would likely do the same. I'm not just going to change how I talk or act around this person because they have feelings for me, but I can't ignore/forget that they do.

Unlike Alastor though I am a people pleaser so I did try to enter into those relationships and I safely say it would've ended up so much worse for both Vox and Alastor.

Acting flirtatious/romantic is so very different than actually being interested.

At first you follow the classical steps of romance, dates, flowers, I love yous, you do that with friends too, but physically touch suddenly becomes more uncomfortable. Which could explain why Alastor has a "I touch you, you don't touch me" policy, unless your Nifty/Rosie of course!

Everything that person who 'loves' you does however begins to feel annoying, suffocating.

Alastor feeling claustrophobic, uncomfortable, and confused suddenly because this person who was a good friend suddenly wants to get together would instantly push him away. FORCE Alastor either looks at his own actions or views Vox as some perverse person. Therefore any ideas he might have like new technology come from a perverted place.

Obviously I'm not saying that Vox being interested in Alastor from a romantic angle is automatically perverse or wrong but with how much he values his autonomy it definitely feels weird for someone to WANT to be tied down.

I have a lot of thoughts but it is late so I'm just rambling and have way too many thoughts! I do hope you could more or less make sense of this mess! Thank you!

I'm sorry it took me ages to reply but unfortunately I'm mentally ill and for the las few weeks, putting together a coherent response was too demanding :c But I don't like leaving asks unanswered.

I could make sense of this rambling! Actually it's more or less what I had in mind while writing the original post. I'm autistic so I often miss the fact that people are attracted to me + sometimes things have different meanings for me than for most of people (e.g. lately I said something that made someone think that I want to be romantically involved with them, they rejected me, things got extremely weird and I did my best to explain to them my true feelings but I'm still anxious that they might think that I lied to save face) and I'm aromantic. So I get what you mean with that unreasonable feeling of being violated. It is completely unjustified and I hate feeling that way because I recognize it as utterly unfair toward the other person, who is not hurting me in any way but I can't help it.

So, I can imagine that Alastor - who hasn't been though years of therapy and may not be the most self aware and emotionally open person - could feel very bad with Vox's feelings. Especially when Vox is not above manipulation and gaslightning, and probably doesn't take rejection well so thing could get nasty pretty quickly.

Hello! I’m sorry this reply is coming so late, this ask in particular is very sweet and has stuck out to me.

I’m really happy to have introduced you to PVT, this is something I’ve heard from a few different people on here and it’s very sweet… I did my thesis on it in college and the time really flew by while working on it, things you don't think could possibly attributed to "nerve issues" being nerve issues is always an eye-opener, isn't it? being able to research things that interest you & access information in general really is a privilege in this day and age.

“The topics [I] portray” are very important to me, so it’s heartening when others take interest in spite of the obvious deterrents. A lot of what I love making art about is unpalatable to most, and while I do understand the reasons for that on principle, it can make things feel a little insular. I genuinely believe there’s a lot of value in depicting tableaus of misery.

The last year has brought a lot of very unforeseen changes, and my life is quite different from when I initially made this blog to post about him! That’s also part of why I’ve been so sparse here…though I’m working to change that quite soon. I love sharing my work, and I’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly wonderful people through this website. That said…with where I’m at now, I’m not sure I’ll be posting the Dirk essay anytime soon, I’m afraid.

I’ve undertaken a few ongoing projects, one of which in particular is an original project I plan on sharing publicly here hopefully within the next month or so. I hope it’s something you & anyone else who’s stuck around with me here will enjoy, but failing that, I’ve really enjoyed working on it thus far.

i use a lot of references! too many. i have multiple canvases with screenshots with references for poses, expressions, etc. i recommend taking screenshots of everything you find interesting and studying the show's style. copying screenshots and official art as close as possible helps a lot, since you can compare the differences of proportions or technique. truth is you can apply this to any sort of study!

something i used to struggle a lot on was proportions; i often drew the characters with "proper" body proportions to their heads and ended up looking weird, since it's a very cartoony head on a not-so cartoony looking body. so watch out for that.

i left a little analysis down below about the line weight aspect since that's what i spend the most time looking at!

the line art is a little tricky since it relies on thicker lines rather than thin ones like in most anime, but it follows specific rules you can later on bend however you like. the lines are built, on it's essentials, like this:

line starts and ends in an increased thickness compared to the rest of the line, and bending points often result in thicker corners, making them less pointy. this technique is used mostly in the outlines while the lines inside it are often composed by thin traces with no line weight. example below.

notice the variety in weight on the outline while the inside of iyami's mouth and eyes are built with thin lines! they're often used for details and to add contrast.

they also make use of a very thick outlines surrounding the character, but it varies from scene to scene. sometimes they use it a lot, and sometimes they don't use it at all. depends on the type of shot and the purpose of it.

something to note is that the furthest the character is, the more consistent the line gets, resulting in less line variation.

parallel lines also tend to get fused in order to avoid uncomfortable looking gaps between them, specially in far shots.

they kinda glue the lines together if they're close enough lol, the hairs sticking out of their bowl cuts are the most common victims of the parallel line fusion.

also lines don't have to be THAT tidy either, if you look close enough some shots have very sketchy/wobbly looking traces. this is the part where i leave examples of that, but being completely honest i'm very sleepy so i'll let you do your own research on that.

anyways, i hope this is coherent enough to comprehend, i'm no expert but i know a thing or two about lines! if anything sounds too confusing you're more than welcome to shoot me another ask and i'll elaborate.

crista my love!!! 🥹💕 omg i'm so glad ur also watching t8s i need everyone to watch it, it's just sO good. i'm also blushing twisting my feet twirling my hair that u want to hear me cry about this show because lmfaooo i'm the least coherent person to do this and so many wonderful things have already been said but i'll just reiterate some thoughts here since i just finished re-watching episodes 1 & 2 for the third time. this is way too long i’m so sorry bare w me pls:

i feel like the beginning sequence (before we are drawn to the present story) tells us everything and absolutely nothing at all. jaewon and jihyun sit on the beach, there’s a sound of a heart beat, their hands are touching, and then there’s a fading superimposition shot of the ocean waves. first of all, i love a good superimposition shot, not just because it’s nice to look at, but because these types of shots play with time and space. we then get that black and white shot of someone surfing, and then a cut to someone being pulled out from under the waves. another superimposition shot from the ocean to that scene back on the beach but jihyun is no longer there and we can hear the sound of sirens. i can see why there were death theories flowing around on twitter lol. from the shot of jihyun to no-jihyun it can allude to something like that but remember what i said about superimposition playing with time and space? the first shot is the future (or present, depending on where you’re looking at the story—perception is everything). the black-and-white shots were deliberate, though. those were in the past. and judging from the later conversation where jihyun trails off about a younger brother, it’s most likely jaewon pulling this younger-brother type person out of the water.

after the credits we get one of my favourite shots so far: a fish tank, taking up nearly half the screen in the foreground, and a blurry vision of the back of jaewon’s head in the background. as we get to know more about jaewon i’m really curious to know what this could be a metaphor for, but the most cliché metaphor for now is “fish out of water.” that seems to fit jihyun more, being a lil’ country kid in seoul, but i feel like for jaewon it’s more about the fact that he wears a mask of a confident person. and he’s damn good at masking. he let’s his friends carry on their double-edged conversation about how oh-so-easy his privileged life is and only gets angry when his friend crosses the line and pushes him over (because although jaewon might be easy-going, he is not a pushover).

jaewon and jihyun’s first exchange outside the pub is so good 😭 there’s banter—i love how sassy jihyun is and how it comes out in front of jaewon—but one thing is established in this scene: their interest in each other. for jihyun, it’s the fact that he was eavesdropping on jaewon and co.’s conversation and congratulated jaewon on completing his military service. jihyun also seemed a bit annoyed initially but he could’ve easily directed jaewon to the nearest convenience store to buy his own cigarettes, but jihyun brings jaewon two (which jaewon seems surprised about) and lights it for him. jaewon’s interest is solidified the moment jihyun slips him a lighter before he leaves. i went absolutely feral at the way their fingers lingered—far too long to be written off as just a small exchange. if a lingering touch isn’t the queerest thing you’ve ever seen, idk what is 😩

my favourite scene so far is their third encounter. i will never shut up about it tbh!!! pissed off by his friends crossing his boundaries and inviting his ex-gf to the pub (where he’d dragged them in because he was lowkey looking for jihyun 👀), jaewon goes outside for a smoke. jihyun follows him out and attempts to be brave: he tells him “my name is jihyun. i thought we should know each other’s names if we’re going to be friends” [cue tay screaming in the background]. the way jihyun looks at jaewon, the sincerity in those doe eyes, and jaewon’s shocked but absent expression is everything. i’ve already screamed about this in the tags but like i’ve said, jaewon is constantly putting on a mask for everyone around him—he’s nice, he’s got everything handed to him; he’s the quintessential golden boy. in all their encounters so far jaewon has been cheery and extroverted, but the fact that he doesn’t have the energy to put on a mask and doesn’t hide his expression from jihyun says a lot. jihyun will slowly become someone who jaewon can be 100% himself around and there is something so *sharp inhale* about that.

jaewon asks jihyun his name again on the bus to their surfing trip, and the little smile that is threatening to curl up on the corner of his lips absolutely killed me. sufa @heart-ming​ said it perfectly: jaewon knows his name, of course he knows his name. he’s been thinking about him (when he’s outside his family home as he smokes the second cigarette, or going into the bar to see if he’s working). jaewon’s obvious disappointment in seeing their sleeping arrangements is also funny, but that doesn’t stop jaewon. he practically begs the club president to let him teach jihyun, and the two continue whatever the hell it is they have going on on the beach; alone.

(also i could talk forever about the scene where jaewon helps jihyun into his wetsuit like—the way jihyun looks SO nervous and bare in front of jaewon, and the way jaewon puts on a soft and reassuring smile when they’re face to face, but the moment jihyun turns around, jaewon’s mask crumbles and we can see that he’s also nervous from their proximity. the intimacy of helping someone put something on is insane).

i’m fairly certain that kim jihyun is well aware of his sexuality (the boy is a girl group stan i mean c’mon). he might not be out, of course, but he’s been more straight forward about his intentions in pursuing his crush. jaewon on the other hand seems to be doing things not because he’s aware of his attraction to the same sex, but because he’s attracted to jihyun and a bit impulsive about this new-found attraction. there’s this magnetic pull the younger seems to have on the older, and for now, he’s kind of fallen into that trance. but from the synopsis we know that they will be sharing a kiss, and that jaewon will proceed to act as if nothing happened. i’m not ready for that angst next week 😭😭 but i’m actually curious if jaewon really isn’t aware, or he’s just afraid and in the closet??? is the “younger brother” he trailed off about actually his younger brother, or someone who he used to like????? i have so many questions about jaewon’s past that i need answering is it wednesday yet??????????

ok i’m talking too much about jaewon—that’s my blorbo, my baby girl, my cinnamon apple—but i also adore jihyun. he tells jaewon he’s trying to not be scared and he’s been doing some brave things the last two episodes i’m so proud of him :’) his braveness is quiet, like him. there’s something that was said to him by two different people that was pretty similar:                            

“at first, you’ll be clumsy and scared of everything, but that’s because you aren’t familiar with it.” “then are you afraid of many things? that’s just because you have many things you don’t know” 

the first quote was said by his boss when they were drinking, and the second was said by jaewon on the beach. i love these quotes and the fact that we heard them twice because besides being a romance, the eighth sense is very much a coming-of-age and about both of these young queer men coming into themselves. it's just uGH so great.  

icb i wrote so much and i didn’t even mention the surfing lesson or shower scene like........ there are just so many layers and nuance to this show and the storytelling, dialogue, and cinematography are all so good. i feel like the director captured the queer experience so well and i can’t wait to see what else is in store for us!! the korean theatrical release was heavily edited and cut down so i can’t wait to see it in it’s full form, how it was intended :’)

i’m really glad to see that i’m not the only one who was very critical of mando season 2, most of my friends loved it and i didn’t want to ruin it for them but all the cameos just watered the plot down to a nostalgia-fest and the show suffered for it imo

I yo-yo super hard with s2 because there’s a lot I like about it, but the season finale permanently destroyed my brain and gave me terminal grumpy bitch disease so it’s tainted my overall enjoyment of the show a lot. I’m much more calm about it now and am mostly just hoping we get a decent third season to smooth over some of the rougher edges of s2. with all the big d+ shows being announced now I’m cautiously optimistic that the show isn’t going to be used as a billboard for disney but honestly who knows lol. either way though I feel you, it’s so bizarre to see people praise the s2 finale in particular when it’s the worst episode of the show in my opinion, but star wars is extremely dumb anyway so I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade and will mostly just stick to bitching in my own corner. genuinely some of my favorite cutscene action in a hot minute. not just because i got to watch my favorite bestest boy kick ass, take names, and maybe get his ass kicked a bit in return along the way (yeah, I’m predictable, sue me), but because it was genuinely some fuckin cinematics. showdown on ruhnuk for sure! genuinely impressed with the amount of action condensed into this patch’s cutscenes.

the atmosphere of the arena. hundreds, maybe thousands of mandalorians preparing to watch shae and heta duke it out. watching shae with bated breath. someone mentioned prequels-level epicness in their post and i wholeheartedly agree. this felt like watching an epic star wars showdown unfold, complete with heroic star wars action music, lol.

felt incredibly indulgently good to go scouting with shae. assess, infiltrate, eliminate, damn it’s almost like we’re back in intelligence for a change (tyr relishes it almost as much as shae relishes the hunt).

i’m also incredibly interested in their borderline opposition over objectives.

just when he’s maybe getting somewhere in de-escalating the situation, shae gets impatient and they both lose whatever they were hoping to gain. shae gets snappy, tyr understandably doesn’t quite appreciate it, but they move on. he respects her authority on dealing with heta, but he isn’t excited about losing leads on the bigger picture issue - especially on one that’s probably cost him a few good nights of sleep like malgus, lmao.

overall? i honestly feel SO FED. very seen, lmao. this was a LOT of fun to play through. glad to see everything sort of tying together by sa’har and ri’kan being here, makes its introduction feel a bit less jarring. i’m here for the ~vibes of something bigger playing out for these characters, pushing them together, putting them in opposition. no new big reveals about the whys or the hows, perhaps, but i feel like the insights into these other characters was worth it. and, again, the absolute cinematics of it all was REALLY damn good. ruhnuk looks beautiful, there was a lot more to it than i had been expecting, i am so far a big fan of the ui changes and map update that was VERY nice.

runs back to the front of the line my other characters, i’ll be looking forward to going through this ride all over again, lol.

Simply put it, Professor Crewel assigned his class to perfect an animal shifting potion for the authentic assessment. Something as advanced as this could not be perfected without any assistance, so of course, you approached the person that you know excelled in this area.

At first, Vil Schoenheit declined. “There is a reason why Professor Crewel strictly assigned it as an individual assessment, potato,” Vil Schoenheit said with a certain amusement in his tone despite his stoic features. You pouted, tugging on his hand and pleading to help you with this assessment. Eventually he gave in but only on one condition: he will only be assisting you and that is final as you should be the one doing most of the work. If Vil is helping you, then that is enough for you.

After a grueling 6 hours later, you have reached the near end of your potion brewing. The potion that was mildly viscous and muddy turned smooth and dappled white in color. It smells mildly pungent however, a contrast to the clean appearance of the potion. Even Vil's nose scrunched at the smell. "Lovely," he commented.

"This means it worked right?" You asked, looking down at the swirling liquid and watching a few bubbles rapidly pop at the surface. You would need to simmer it for a few more minutes before taking it off the heat and cooling. Vil studied the simmering brew. "An animal shifting potion's appearance vary from color and smell based on what animal you wish to transform into," he said. "I would not conclude its success without testing it."

You looked at him innocently. "Will you drink it for me then?"

You nearly laugh when his face slightly contorts to disbelief. "I came with you as an assistant, not a test subject." Vil planted his hands firmly on his waist. "What reason do you have to not consume it yourself?"

You remembered a mundane ingredient added to the potion. "I'm allergic to nutmeg," you answered.

You were not allergic to nutmeg.

Vil squinted his eyes at you and you smiled. Sighing with a roll of his eyes, he takes out a small kit from his bag. It was a rectangular mahogany box, varnished, with intricate gold borders. Inside were empty vials and flasks with nameless labels. "Fine. But I will not be drinking straight from a beaker. That is highly dangerous and unethical."

"Ace and Grim did it once or twice." Your queen looked at you with a certain judgement behind his goggles. "You often forget that I am different from them, darling," Vil stated.

Your eyes looked back and forth on your notes and your boyfriend. His skin became noticeably paler and he was visibly perspiring. Once you identified the obvious signs of discomfort, you knew the potion was taking effect. Vil was quick to unbutton his lab coat—and suddenly you remembered that you still have an ounce of decency left and turned away. You bit the inside of your cheek as excitement bubbled at the pit of your stomach. You were excited about two things: one, being that you may have successfully brewed an animal shifting potion; and two, you get to see Vil Schoenheit turn into a cute little furball—

You...did not expect his voice to exasperatedly purr your name.

Startled, you turned around—forgetting the moments before that was disrobing himself; he must be covered in fur somehow—and became even more startled that you nearly elbowed nearby equipment. You gaped at him, words failing to form out of your mouth and instead stammering gibberish that soon turned into a single, coherent, verbal reaction.

"Holy fuck."

"How eloquent," Vil snide sarcastically, his tail—holy fuck it's so big and fluffy—swaying behind him.

You tried not to—but you did—took note of his partially disheveled appearance. His lab coat and goggles were neatly placed on the table. His pants were slightly hung loose around his waist and a few buttons of his shirt collar were undone, exposing the dip of his neck. Both of you were expecting at least some fur to cover his skin, but alas, there was none.

Instead, a pair of fluffy ears twitched atop his head, and a tail nearly round and fashioned from the clouds, soft around the edges and puffed up like a squirrel's. But Vil did not turn into a squirrel. He turned into a minuet cat. Half-cat. You turned Vil into a catboy. It seems the potion did not work in a way you were expecting it to.

"I don't understand," was all you could say. Vil scoffed. "Now you speak after ogling at me?" He raised a brow, tail flicking behind him at a sudden intonation. You noticed that his manner of speaking changed a little. If he was elegant before he is certainly more elegant now. Like...a domesticated cat that perfected etiquette lessons.

"I wasn't ogling—I was just staring, surprised," you corrected, despite the heat at the tip of your ears. Vil hummed—purred—and his eyes narrowed at you. "Ogling and staring are two very similar things, darling."

You question if he is purring on purpose. Every syllable at the end of his sentence ended with a smooth purr. Maybe, you thought, it is just an adverse effect of the potion.

So, you tried retracing your steps. Where did it possibly went wrong? All ingredients were measured carefully, weighed even, and you made sure to be precise in stirring—

"Darling." You jumped a little from your thoughts. When did Vil get so close to you? "You are standing there like a sprouted potato," he said, eyes peering at you. "Have you figured out where you went wrong?"

"I was getting there," you muttered, eyes glancing at his tail again. You wondered how soft it would be if you run your fingers across the fur. Can a cat's tail reach that level of fluff? Now you wonder about his ears...would they be as soft as they look? If you touch it—pet it—would he like it? Will he lean more to your touch like a cat asking for more affection? Would he—

You froze when your chin was lifted. Your entire face flared at the intimate gesture. "It seems you would rather focus elsewhere than pinpoint your misstep..." he purred. There was a hint of teasing in his tone. You swallowed. "I mean, this—" you gestured at him vaguely "—this is new." You lightly chuckled, trying to calm yourself down. You cannot even meet your boyfriend's eyes from how intense he is staring at you. Vil's fingers remained curled under your chin. Light, but noticeable.

"And what do you plan on doing?"

His fingers moved on from your chin and slid behind your neck to fiddle with the hem of your back collar. Now he is starting to act like a curious cat.

"W-Well if I plan on reversing the effects then that means I have to properly observe this result of the potion first," you mumbled, not fighting the smile that draws from your lips. Something about this scene seemed affectionate. Vil chuckled, and you did not miss the way his lips tugged into a slight smirk. "Is that what you are suggesting to do? To observe?"

You do not miss the flirtatious tone in his voice, either. "Don't make it sound weird, Vil..." you muttered, and he laughed at your probably pouty face. A laugh that is soft and quiet. His hand slid past your shoulder and he sat down on his chair. He leaned back with his legs crossed. His tail idly swayed back and forth behind him as his ears twitched with interest. His plum-purple eyes beckoned you, as do his inviting purr.

"Well, your assessment is not finished yet, yes? Go on. Observe me."
