South Park Music Headcanons
I am trying to figure out what kind of music everyone in SP would listen to for something so I wanted to get everyone’s opinions on it.
These are mine:
Stan- I’m going to be basic here and say he likes indie/alternative music and probably rock. I know that’s what a lot of people say but I feel like it’s true because it fits his personality. I think he listens to stuff like My Chemical Romance, Weathers (it’s a less common band but I swear they don’t have a SINGLE bad song and all their songs really fit Stan), Two Feet, Green Day, Sub Urban, Palaye Royale (definitely their earlier albums, I FREAKING LOVE THIS BAND), Arctic Monkeys, Mitski, Waterparks, FIDLAR, Younger Hunger (also a great lesser known band), BoyWithUke, Weezer, The Neighborhood, The Strokes. I have a lot of songs for Stan but I want to know if people agree.
Kyle- All I really have for him is Green Day and even then I'm not sure. I don’t know if he would like the songs Stan listens to or if he would hate them.
Kenny- He listens to pop songs like from The Weekend, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles and Maroon 5. Probably also bands like Panic! At The Disco, Imagine Dragons and Fall Out Boy. Maybe The Wrecks?? Maybe Queen?? OOH ADAM LAMBERT!! Also Maneskin.
Cartman- He also listens to pop songs like Britney Spears and Lady Gaga (CANON!) but he also listens to rap songs (ALSO CANON!). I don’t like rap music that much but when I think of Cartman, I think of XXXTENTACION and Juice WRLD. Also Post Malone.
Craig - I have no idea. He probably also likes indie/alternative music but maybe not the same ones that Stan likes.
Tweek - Same thing, I have no idea. I like to think of him as a headbanger but then I think that loud rock music would make him anxious. But soft music doesn’t really fit him in my opinion. I have songs that I think match his personality but I’m not sure if he would actually like them or not.
Clyde - Clyde is the same as Kenny. He likes Ariana Grande, The Weekend, Harry Styles, Lil Nas X, … Also probably Olivia Rodrigo. He probably really likes boy bands like One Direction and The Backstreet Boys, also probably Justin Bieber. He probably wanted to be in a boyband with Craig, Token and Jimmy but they all said no lol
Token - I have no idea.
Jimmy - No idea. He probably likes Bo Burnham.
Butters - He likes soft music. He probably likes Cavetown.
Wendy - I don’t know if she would like her but Penelope Scott??
Bebe - She’s the same as Kenny and Clyde. She likes pop music and boy bands. Maybe also country music. I don’t know much about country music but maybe Taylor Swift??
Other Bands/Artists That I Like
-Grandson
-Melanie Martinez
-AJR
-5SOS
-Set It Off
-Nothing But Thieves
-MARINA
-Sir Chloe
-Cage The Elephant
Please reblog or send in asks with your opinions on what you think of this and then maybe some of your own :)

a big part of the fandom loves being overly critical of Damiano and accusing him of not appreciating his bandmates enough, but no one ever talks about how little support they've shown to him outside of the band compared to each other. thomas was asked on an interview about damiano's solo album and the only thing he had to say was that it won't create conflict with maneskin. meanwhile, he made sure to bring up Vic's DJing career and highlight how great she is and how much he enjoys watching her play. for damiano, not even a "if he does release an album, i'll be excited to listen to it." ethan and vic posted multiple stories about thomas playing with tom morello. ethan and thomas also post regularly videos from vic's dj gigs. Damiano? when he wrote the song duemilaminuti for mara sattei for sanremo 2023 none of them posted anything and it was a televote competition. why wouldn't you support your friend by using your platform to get people to vote for his song? and i've heard people say "maybe he didn't want them to post anything" but that's such bs because Giorgia did post. when he participated in Anitta's music video? They didn't even like the post he made about it, let alone share something about it. When he performed at the Bon Jovi event in LA this year? Again, crickets. I could go on and on. Meanwhile Damiano shared Vic's DJ touring announcement on his stories, shared her remix, shared her collab with Duran Duran. but yeah, he's the bad guy 🙄

End of year meme! Check out last year's version here!
1. Song of the year?
Måneskin - Honey! (Are U Coming?), although Fifteen's theme from Doctor Who has grasped me over the last few days. More music-specific stuff here!
2. Album of the year?
Strictly speaking the only full album I heard was Måneskin - Rush, and that had… some issues even though I love most of it, haha.
3. Favourite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?
Can we count the BG3 soundtrack as a new artist?
4. Movie of the year?
I rewatched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory last night and that was... it, so that, I guess!
5. TV show of the year?
I still haven't recovered from Good Omens season 2.
6. Episode of TV or webisode that defined the year for you?
Episode 2.06 of Good Omens, Doctor Who - all four specials.
7. Favourite actor of the year?
Honestly it's gotta be David Tennant. Like, between Good Omens and Doctor Who? Yeah. Neil Newbon comes in a very close second, though!
8. Game of the year?
It's a. It's actually a tie which is goddamn unheard of in a Zelda release year, but Baldur's Gate 3 genuinely nearly kicked Tears of the Kingdom aside??
9. Best month for you this year?
Oh man tricky. Do I say October because I went on my first actual proper holiday in eight and a half years? November for the Maneskin concert? Or do they lose points because I had COVID in late Oct/early Nov? Let's skip both and go with June (Vivid down in Sydney and the single greatest sorbet I've ever tried, a super fun VtM tabletop session, and got Operation YEETerus more or less confirmed)!
10. Something that made you cry this year?
Cried pretty much the whole way through the end of Tears of the Kingdom, does that count?
11. Something you want to do again next year?
Ooh I'd love to go back down to Sydney for Vivid!
12. Talk about a new friend you made this year
Shrug emoji. You're all cool.
13. How was your birthday this year?
Super chill. Ordered pizza and ate ice cream, and a few days earlier when my brother came up, we went to one of our favourite Lebanese restaurants.
14. Favourite book you read this year?
A top three - Hell Followed With Us, Space Opera, and Camp Damascus! You can check my book-specific stuff here!
15. What's a bad habit you picked up this year?
Not sure I picked any up? Still haven't ditched the finger-chewing, alas.
16. Post a picture from the beginning of the year
A haul from Sydney in January. Hell Followed With Us and Legends and Lattes were bought new, as were most of the CDs. The other three books and the Sigur Ros CD were second-hand.
17. Post a picture from the end of the year
Okay so on the cruise (late October, I'm gonna say it counts) each floor on the stairwell nearest our cabin had these like, sailing/ships/cruising-type collages, right? Golden Age of Sail, 50s cruising, all that stuff. Which is fine! Great! Except one of them was this!
For the love of god, why would you think an image of the Titanic sinking would be appropriate for a cruise ship?!
18. A memorable meal this year?
The hazelnut sorbet of the gods. Listen. Sydneysiders, listen, if Rivareno Gelato is doing the hazelnut that week you have to try it.
19. What're you excited about for next year?
Australian Literature Festival at Sea! Not until December, but it should be fun as hell!
20. What's something you learned this year?
I did a course on how to make an author site! I should. Do that.
21. What's something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?
We started fixing up the old, kinda leaking upstairs bathroom! Gonna be moving back upstairs once it's done!
22. Favourite place you visited this year?
Eden in southern NSW, and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Hobart <3 Both on the cruise. Eden was absolutely gorgeous and Bonorong had critters.
23. If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be?
You're gonna get COVID on the cruise. Yes, even wearing your mask and sanitising every five seconds. Bring decongestants because you'll also pick up sinusitis at the same time.
24. Did you keep any New Year's Resolutions?
Didn't make any :D
25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one
Probably the two main ones are my first two BG3 characters? A custom Tav, Ta'varin 'Tae' Arkenval, and my beloved Durge baby, Tavias. I'm probably most attached to Tavias, he is going through The Horrors while being the pureblooded child of the God of Murder and also just trying to be a nice person. Wish him luck as I enter act 3!

'Teraz Rock' Interview - english translation
A well know polish magazine about rock music 'Teraz Rock' (Now Rock) had an interview with Måneskin, and since one of the polish fans on FB shared pictures of the magazine, I decided to translate the interview, because I loved some of the stuff they said there! :D
As always, the whole thing is under read more. ;)
Maneskin is not only ‘Zitti e buoni’ and their winning performance in Rotterdam during the recent finale of Eurovision Song Contest. Italian band fits perfectly into the trend of rock restorers, and at the same time fights with the mental narrowness, prejudices and homophobia. On August 19th they will play In Park Kolibki In Gdynia.
I: You started by playing on the streets of Rome…
V: Unfortunately, there is not a lot of possibilities to debut in Rome. Rome is lacking the appropriate places, there are almost no rock shows. So we couldn’t find a place where we could show ourselves to the people. So we decided to play on the streets to gain the following, the listeners. We did that for good few months. And we had a lot of fun doing that. We think it really helped us, too. Because when you play on the streets, you don’t play for someone who came to listen to you. You need to attract people’s attention. So it was a great lesson on stage skills, to keep the attention. And we played many hours each day, so we also evolved as musicians, as a band.
I: Is it true that you had issues with police? V, D, T, E: Yes, that’s true!! (laugh)
D: It was all because of this old lady, that lived on the first floor, near the place where we used to play. She snitched on us! And sometimes police came and tried to get us to leave.
I: They didn’t arrest you?
D: No, it wasn’t that bad.
V: We were 16 back then. We just went all ‘We swear we won’t do it again!’ (laugh). We hid somewhere for 10 minutes….
D: Went around the block….
V: And played again (laugh).
I: You admited that at first you were shy. How did it happen that you gained so much self-confidence? Do you think one has to be self-confident if they want to show the world that they have something to say in music, in art?
V: It is important, but its more about feeling good with yourself and having fun doing what you do, rather than confronting the world. I think that if you lack confidence, you can’t fully enjoy creating, because you keep thinking ‘What the other will think about it?’. But everyone has to go through this phase. In my opinion, self-confidence is not something you’re born with. Everyone has the moments of hesitation and doubt. I have them too, still. And I think that’s perfectly normal. But you need to learn to appreciate yourself, accept yourself the way you are, because you can’t run away from yourself. We have whole life with ourselves, until the day we die (laugh).
I: Damiano, in one of the interviews you said ‘What we say, can change someone way of thinking’. Do you want to influence your audience? Artist like Chuck Berry or AC/DC just had fun on stage.
D: We also have fun on stage. But now, when we’re well known, we can get to many people, especially young ones. And there’s a chance, that if we say something positive to them, we could help them with their problems, that they can’t fight on their own. For example – like Vic said – we can help them gain more self-confidence and make them feel safer in the world around them. I’ll say this: if as a musician you have something to share with others, do it. But if you just want to have fun playing, that’s OK too.
T: Exactly.
I: Your behaviour on stage is often the reason for homophobic attacks. What would you say to homophobes here in Poland?
V: Fuck them!!!
T: Fuck them!
E: Fuck them, fuck them! (laughing)
D: Maybe not so vulgar.....
T: Fuck them!
D: For sure they should open up more, get rid of prejudices. Make a step forward. Free themselves from the old way of thinking. Let the others live however they want.
I: You debuted in 2017 with EP ‘Chosen’ with two of your own songs and few covers. Even tho you were so young, you already came off as mature musicians with a set style…
V: Thanks, but I don’t think so (laugh).
D: I don’t think we would agree with that.
E: We wouldn’t agree with that, definitely.
V: My bass playing skills definitely left much to be desired.
D: 'Chosen' definitely has its advantages, but… we were still looking for our sound back then. That EP is so much more different than our other albums. But it is a part of our career, our journey, and we don’t regret anything that has to do with it. We had a lot of fun recording it and… its something we did in the past and we’re happy that people loved it.
V: Still love it!
D: Exactly, still love it. Even tho we changed so much since then.
V: The most important and coolest thing about that EP is that even tho we were really young and our skills weren’t as good, you can still hear that we already had charisma and knew what we wanted. And even tho most of the EP consists of known songs, we changed them, played them in our own way, our own style. And that’s really cool because it shows us as a band with their own personality. Of course, now that we listen to that EP, we have lot to complain about…
D: We would do the songs much better.
V: But we like the attitude we already had back then. Even tho we were so young.
E: Our sound really changed since then, but you need to remember that when we we’re recording it, it was already a huge accomplishment for us.
D: That’s true.
I: On ‘Chosen’ Damiano sung in english. On your first album, ‘Il ballo della vita’ from 2018, you had songs in italian as well. Did your songs get more personal because of that?
D: I wouldn’t say that. We started writing songs in italian out of necessity. If you’re an Italian artist and want to reach Italian audience, you need, you have to sing in italian, because not a lot of people speak english there. Now it’s different, we managed to reach international audience, so we can make more songs in english. But we won’t resign from italian, we like to write in italian as well.
I: While recording ‘Il ballo della vita’ you made documentary ‘This Is Maneskin’…
E: They will never forget it! (laugh)
I: You can see there, that during that time you argued a lot.
D: We were young!
I: Did the conflicts threaten your band’s future?
D: No! We were just starting out...
V: Conflicts were inevitable. We were very young and suddenly tabloids were writing about us. And recording an album required a lot of work. And we never experienced that before, we had issues dealing with work in the studio. Because creating and recording together isn’t easy. You need to make many decisions, everyone has their own opinion. Now we’re more mature, we know how to deal with those situations. We can discuss with each other in a constructive way. We were much more childish back then and yeah, we fought sometimes. But even then nothing happened that could threaten our band.
I: ‘Il ballo della vita’ is a concept album of sorts. You have there Marlena, who, like you said, is personification of the concern a lot of you have – that we’re not able to be yourself…
D: The album was supposed to share a message to our fans. We wanted to tell them how important for us is the freedom to be yourself. The ability to love someone, that was chosen by our heart. Freedom to wear the clothes we like. Et cetera, et cetera… We realized that the album would speak to people more, and will be easier to understand, if we gave that idea a name. Of course it’s an idea that we still share to this day, just maybe a bit differently.
I: Your last album, ‘Teatro D’Ira Vol. 1’, you recorded live in studio. Did the way you worked on it was much different from the way you recorded ‘Il ballo della vita’?
D: Oh yeah! It definitely took us less time!
V: Definitely much faster. It was very exciting. We wanted to keep in studio the energy we have when we play concerts, which meant playing together. Which is of course much more difficult than recording separately. But we told to ourselves: let it be, we should at least try. And we loved the result.
D: You know, at first you work on the material in rehearsal room. And you’re full of energy. But then you come into recording studio, where you divide the song into parts, and you loose that power, that magic. So we realized that we should change the way we work, so we could keep the emotions from rehearsals.
I: ‘Teatro D’Ira Vol. 1’ is another concept album. You said its all about the rage, that plays the role of catharsis sometimes. Can you say something more about it?
V: Anger is mostly seen as something negative. And we think that classifying emotions as positive or negative is stupid. Especially in art. When you’re creating, anger can make you give more from yourself, say more. And that’s what our album is about, talking about the world of theatre. We show that something that’s seen as bad, can – especially in the world of art – become something good. And those songs, that are so full of rage, can bring relief to our listeners, which only confirms what I’m trying to say.
I: In the lyrics to 'In nome del padre’ and ‘Vent’anni’ you’re talking about mistakes you made in the past...
D: They are very different tracks, even if they seem to talk about the same topic. Vent’anni is all about our age, because we think it’s a very special moment in your life: you become an adult, but you’re still too young to be considered as such, and they don’t treat you seriously. We wanted to share that with our fans, because maybe they think the same. And In nome del padre is about the battle we had to fight, the mistakes we had to make, to get where we are today. Of course we’re still young, we still make mistakes. But I’m singing about the mistakes from the past, because they made us the way we are today. And I’m saying: don’t be afraid to make mistakes, because they are a part of your journey, your life. What’s important is how you react to those mistakes.
E: It’s not a mistake to make mistakes.
I: The next album, continuation of ‘Teatro D’Ira Vol. 1’ – is it already recorded?
D: No, no.
V: Indeed, our next album will be continuation of ‘Teatro D’Ira Vol. 1’, but we’re still working on it. We don’t want to record it in a hurry, we want to take our time making it.
D: We have a lot of songs already, but we want to have plenty to choose from. We want the album to have the most representative songs, the best ones.

My Personal Grammy Predictions! (Buckle Up this is a LOOOONG Post!)
Hello hello! Today's blog is about the upcoming Grammy awards! To keep things simple, I took everything I listened to that I think could, should, or should not be nominated for the prestigous award. With that, I separated the music into four categories: "Definitely Grammy Material," music that I see being nominated. "I Would Love To See You Nominated." music that I would really like to see in contention. "Likely Not Nominated," music that I don't see getting nominated for various reasons. And finally, "Not Grammy Material...Sorry," for the music that really kinda missed the mark this season.
Before I start digging deeper into the music of 2022, I have a couple of disclaimers!! 1. These are all my opinion. I ranked these based on both what I think about the music I listen to, and this is all in good fun. Also, these are all the songs/albums I LISTENED to, so if you don't see something you like here, chances are I either didn't listen to it or completely forgot about it! 2. I'm going to be honest 100%. Again, not looking to be a critic here, just figured this would be a fun thing to do! 3. I did NOT count any songs that went to this year's Eurovision Song Contest. While I would like to see those songs nominated, it would make an already long blog longer so I decided not to count them (if you want me to do a follow up on that let me know and I can work on it!).
Okay, now that all the boring stuff is out of the way, let's begin! I'm going to start from the bottom up, so we start with the stuff I don't see being Grammy material to the stuff that's been essentially nominated since release.
Not Grammy Material...Sorry -"Dominion" by Skillet: First off, releasing a single the same night "Red (Taylor's Version)" came out? Not that smart of a move. Now that that's out of the way, this album was far from Skillet's best. I only really liked 2 songs from the 12 track venture, and their final track "White Horse" is a skip, and this is coming from someone who doesn't skip songs. That final track has to be one of their worst songs to date, and really kind of ruins the album, and in my opinion, any chance they would have at nominations. Also, I think the Grammys would have to be insane not to nominate "The Bitter Truth" last year and give "Dominion" nominations this year. However, they aren't extremely likely to even get nominated since their last nomination came with their 2006 album "Comatose" about 16 years ago.
Likely Not Nominated (for various reasons) -"Red (Taylor's Version)" by Taylor Swift: I know, me saying Taylor Swift won't get nominated for a Grammy? Crazy! While I would normally put this in "I Would Love To See You Nominated" because this album was amazing, I doubt Taylor will submit this for Grammy consideration. She didn't with Fearless (Taylor's Version), and I think she will do the same for not just "Red (Taylor's Version)" but any other of her rerecordings. However, if she submits "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" and "I Bet You Think About Me (feat. Chris Stapleton)" I would not be upset because those are good songs.
-"This Love (Taylor's Version)" by Taylor Swift: Similar to Red (Taylor's Version), I doubt that her rerecording for "This Love" will be even submitted, especially since the album it's on (1989) hasn't been released as a rerecording yet. And since it technically was released before, I doubt it will be tagged for "Best Song For Visual Media" for it's appearance in "The Summer I Turned Pretty."
-"SUPERMODEL" by Maneskin: How does a rock band back up their Eurovision winning song? Well, Maneskin brought forth this song and performed it at the Song Contest in Turin, releasing it not long before that. It's a catchy song, and while it could score some nominations, the only reason I don't is that it took the Grammys almost 50 years to nominate ABBA and I'm kinda salty about that as a Eurofan.
-"Viva Las Vengeance" by Panic! At The Disco: This album is not as bad as some people were saying, but it also isn't as good as other people make it sound. And while there are some songs that really shine (see, "Don't Let The Light Go Out"), some songs miss the mark just a little bit, but not enough to be a skip (see, "Star Spangled Banger"). I could see songs like DLTLGO and lead single "Viva Las Vengeance" getting something in the song categories, but don't be surprised if they don't.
I Would Love To See You Nominated -"Silhouette" by Gjon's Tears: The first new song I was given in 2022 was this charmer right here. As the follow-up track to his 3rd place, jury winning, Eurovision song "Tout l'univers" I would not be surprised if there were eyes on Gjon as the anticipation for what's next for him came up. And he did NOT disappoint! The song is so beautiful and definitely is a frontrunner for my Spotify Wrapped. So with all this praise, why isn't it in "Definitely Should Be Grammy Material?" Because I know the Grammys will gloss RIGHT over this masterpiece. I would love to see it nominated, though and someone may need to hold me down if it actually does! And if he wins….oh boy….
-"The Foundations Of Decay" by My Chemical Romance: Never in my time being an MCR fan did I expect them to get back together to tour, much less to make and release a WHOLE NEW SONG! This song gives off a similar energy and sound as their first album, but with a cleaner sound. It all makes sense since they are on tour, and said first album did turn 20 in July. It would be appropriate for the Grammys to give them something as more of an appreciation of their work with this song. It would be their first Grammy nomination in the music categories, and not for packaging (like come on!).
-"Love Hurts" by Amy Lee and Dave Stewart: This is right on the line of "I Would Love To See You Nominated" and "Likely Not Nominated." Since it was a cover song, it may not count toward Grammys, but it plays out more like a remake so I feel it should count. It packs a punch every time I listen to it, and it feels like the first time I listen to it every time.
Definitely Grammy Material -"30" by Adele: Aside from the fact that her last two albums, "21" and "25" won Album of the Year, this album definitely shows that she still has it. From lead single "Easy On Me" to other single "Oh My God" showing what the album would hold to a new fan, she has other great songs in the album (See "My Little Love" for example). I don't just think Adele could get nominated, but she could take home AOTY for her third album in a row.
-"Carolina" by Taylor Swift: If a song for a movie gets Oscar talk weeks after its release, you know it kinda has to be Grammy Nominated as well. Taylor brought a piece that's haunting to fit the movie "Where The Crawdads Sing" so keep your eyes on this song as Grammy season gets closer.
-"Guitar Songs" by Billie Eilish: Billie and her brother gave all of their fans a shock when they released their two song EP "Guitar Songs" and both songs hold their own weight and could be nominated for some of the song categories. "TV" is amazing and melancholic and the fans singing at the end was a lovely touch. And I could go on for hours about the bridge to the hauntingly beautiful "The 30th."
Well, that should do it! Hope you enjoyed this piece (albeit long), and that you have your own input!!!
