Vampire Vere would be ruthless before he really falls in love with reader. He's greedy and wouldn't think twice about draining someone. But tbh I think when he gets close/serious with reader he'd still be greedy and messy and shit but he'd drink readers blood like it's fine wine. He gets his main fix from other victims but really savours reader. Expect it to be extremely bloody tho, he likes it to look like a crime scene xD

Leander for sure tries to kinda hide it. Not hardcore, bit he tries not to tell EVERYONE. He won't go our of his way but also you wouldn't know by just looking at him. I also think he'd be hesitant to drink from his SO and would make it way romantic, or at least he'd try

Mhin would go out of their way to hide that their a vampire. Would NEVER EVER dream of drinking from a person. They and up having to do it but they won't be happy. Also if their SO asked for them to drink their blood Mhin would refuse 100 times before agreeing. Feels very bad that they actually enjoyed it.... Might have gone a bit overboard too (vere did find out and tease them to hell and back fs)

Vampire Vere would definitely not think twice about murder. MC would find him dabbing at his crimson lips with bloodstained, monogrammed handkerchiefs more often than not. And when he wants to feed from his beloved? It’s an entire show he puts on. They get a candlelit room, a nice hot meal, tons of fluffy pillows and blankets…the whole nine yards, before he leans so close, his breath runs across the nape of their neck. “You smell delightful,” he whispers, a firm kiss pressing to their skin. “I’m sure you don’t mind that I eat after all of this preparation I’ve done for you, hm?”

Leander DEFINITELY tries to hide it. There are rumors, of course, swirling around Eridia, but no one really knows what’s true and what’s not. Turns out, being a contracted killer really helps conceal his vampiric identity! He can easily do away with bodies and no one will ask questions. Why do criminals keep appearing with two holes in the same spot on their neck? Weird. Maybe someone should hire Leander to look into that and find the culprit…and of course, he’ll take MC along for the journey, which seems a bit more roundabout than it should be. If he needs to feed during the trip, then perhaps they’re a good source of sustenance. After all, does it matter if his beloved knows his secret? They won’t tell a soul unless they’re trying to get themselves mysteriously killed too…

Mhin would never drink from a person…unless they’re absolutely starving to death. Even then, I imagine it to be a moment of disgust with themself—retching and vomiting the first few times they feed, then admitting they need to drink blood for their survival and doing it as humanely as possible. They knock out their victims and only drink until the hunger has barely subsided. They choose spots beneath clothes where marks could be mistaken for bug bites. Mhin struggles to admit they like MC’s blood more than anyone else’s; they really wish they didn’t, but they can’t get enough of it, to the point that they find it difficult to sleep beside them at night without absentmindedly running their fangs along MC’s skin. They’re just so hungry around their partner. Maybe…just a little sip…

Ais is a voracious beast and doesn’t try to hide his vampiric nature even a little bit. Everyone knows he’s dangerous, and everyone avoids him like the plague. And naturally, Ais with Vere is…horrifying. There’s a lot of begging for him to give mercy and let them live, but he’s no fool. If he lets too many of his victims live, then surely people will find a way to gang up on him. While that’s an interesting proposition, he’s not sure he wants to fight a dozen weak-ass humans when he’d much rather fight someone of his own caliper; humans are just too pathetic. When he meets MC, he’s constantly teasing them with flashes of his long fangs. “Scared? Should be, little sparrow,” he says, scrubbing dried blood off of his knuckles. He even sneaks up to feed from them, thinking MC will just be another victim, but somehow becomes smitten with their taste instead. They should be savored. It’s much more satisfying tasting them on occasion than devouring them whole so quickly.

Kuras is meticulous. He’s very much prone to drawing blood through proper means and drinking it from simple testing tubes in shot-like doses. If a patient needs a transfusion or a blood test, he’ll simply take an extra vial or two as payment. Yes, he feels guilty at first, but he can’t allow himself to starve when he needs to help the people of Eridia as a consequence of his terrible past. When MC is discovered practically bled out and armless, he makes sure to put them back together and doesn’t take a sample, not even a little, but he strongly considers it. He even has to wipe drool from his lips because they simply smell so strongly of beautiful blood. When they get closer to him and realize his true nature, he offers little more than a calm smile. “Would you like to sustain me as well, or do you prefer our current partnership instead?”

He thinks you're so cute!

You're like his little cheerleader (you're shorter than him most likely) and he enjoys having you around to keep him on his toes (he can't use his age to get out of anything when it comes to you)

You'd be constantly challenging him to fights and stuff and trying to rile him up (he thinks it's endearing though and might entertain you for a little bit, because he can. Just playfights and cute stuff like that lol)

To be honest he's an enabler and would probably encourage you to cause trouble somehow. I mean it's not like anyone can tell you off (unless they wanna face off against FUKUCHI??) (it's entirely possible that on some technicality, you are an enemy of state)

You and Teruko are best friends (obviously). As for the rest of the group...nah they actually kinda like you too. You keep their boss happy so like it's a win-win really

Fukuchi might be kinda crass but let's be real he's probably super old school romantic and he'd like to dance with you (and doing so would also wear you out so he can like nap lmao)

Jouno:

He also thinks it's cute but he doesn't match your energy at all. Jouno appears very calm and cold so you contrast each other a lot

Jouno has to be there to reel you in when you get too silly T-T he's grown quite good at it. He would give you a limit on coffee/energy drinks (if you drink those)

He always acts all exasperated and keeps telling you to calm down and all that, but he secretly loves your personality and doesn't want you to change at all sksjksksjs

He thinks it's actually quite romantic how you balance each other out that way, even if it can cause clashes or disagreements sometimes between you two

Jouno spends most of his time around rather serious people (being a Hunting Dog and all) so being in the presence of someone lighthearted and more bouncy is rather refreshing.

It's almost kinda reassuring for him that you're so energetic because he can hear you well, and so it's really easy for him to tell how you're doing in case he needs to be there for you or something when you're feeling blue y'know?

No because all the other Hunting Dogs are always looking at you two like 'how...how did this possibly happen' (they love you but they did not expect Jouno to date someone like you lmao)

He loves the way you sound, but just try not to be too loud lol

Tecchou:

This guy. He doesn't know what's happening most of the time with you T-T he can't ever predict you

Outside of work, when you guys go out on dates and stuff, you're always dragging him around and he kinda just goes with it. He likes your spontaneity and how you've always got little surprises for him

You two like going on physical-based(?) dates together (for some reason the only thing in my mind is those indoor trampoline parks?), you like them because they accommodate to your energy level and he likes them because exercise or something. lol

Is surprisingly good at keeping up with you! Or so it seems, at least. He probably isn't that good but he tries his best for you <3

Tecchou loves his down time, so you two tend to make deals along the lines of 'we'll spend our time now doing [energy-exerting activity] and then we can cuddle later' or something because you guys compromise and are healthy like that ���

He really really likes you as you are but he's not good at showing it, so though he may seem tired of you sometimes he really isn't

There are times where he'll step up and be the responsible one of the two of you, but that's only if he has to be (he doesn't want to stop you because he thinks you're adorable as you are)

If you're also clingy, he especially loves that about you because Tecchou is like glued to you 24/7 (outside of work lol)

Teruko (platonic):

You're like two peas in a pod because you match one another's energy so well

You guys are just constantly bothering the rest of the Hunting Dogs and they're tired. They can't really get mad at you though, because usually Teruko is the instigator, and also if they said anything to you she'd kick them

Though, you're more of a fun energetic and she's more of an 'I'm going to cause as much mayhem as possible' energetic so you have to be the voice of reason a lot of the time

That being said you two do like pranking people and stuff (not just when she's off work- Teruko isn't above ruining the days of the other Hunting Dogs), sometimes using her ability to do it

When Teruko's feeling down or about to throw a tantrum, you're always there to lift her spirits and vice versa (Jouno and Tachihara are very grateful for this (they're conflicted about their feelings towards you lmaooooo))

You're probably giving her a lot of piggy back rides

You can read each other like open books and that makes it really easy to talk about your issues and feelings free of judgement (at least really harsh judgement)

She takes surprisingly good care of you when you're feeling sick or something, because she needs her partner in crime back ASAP! (and she loves you a lot <3)

Tachihara:

He'd be chill with any personality his partner might have so he's totally fine with you being energetic. He's very adaptable!

That being said he is kinda tired sometimes (man is a mafioso and a soldier) so he usually sorta just lets you run wild on your own (and, if you want to, mess with his colleagues) and just doesn't do anything about it lol

That isn't to say that he's actively encouraging you to be chaotic- he's still at least a little sensible

Tachihara is very appreciative of the fact that you're always there to cheer him up and keep him going. Your energy is infectious and he benefits from that fact quite a lot

For your birthday or something else special he'd take you to a concert (where you can scream and jump around all you like) where your faves perform <3

Given the recent news, I'm wondering how much of the clumsiness was the team being steadily pruned and them wanting to get as much out as possible. Given the entire team has been fired now. While executives meddled.

Same. It's impossible for someone like me to know what elements of the game are the result of people leaving and/or executive meddling, and what parts were poor creative decisions. But I mean regardless, clearly the conditions under which the game was made are not conducive to making your best work unless you and your team are very specific kinds of people.

I think about how there was so much buzz over the game "going gold" before release. Like I remember some people took it as a good sign that Veilguard was done "early" and must be how they wanted it. I've come to think that this was probably when the team decided to cut their losses instead. There's a significant amount of datamined content that imo would have worked better for the storytelling (serious arguments between companions, more concern from your love interest following the regret prison, worldstate reactivity, explaining how Illario can do blood magic, etc.) which I can only assume didn't make it in because they flat ran out of time/resources to implement it properly.

Emmrich's writer admitted a couple contradictions in the dialogue were mistakes that weren't caught in time; I wonder if there were a lot more weird lines and repetitions that ultimately came down to just mistakes they never took out.

I'd love to get an honest dev commentary on the making of Veilguard tbh.

my richard cameron romance headcanons (pt. 1?)

Pre-relationship:

- alright look i feel like cameron is so dense😭

- like he wouldn’t realize you like him like that unless you’re really bold and asked him out early on

- but that’s no fun, SO. we’ll start from the beginning.

- cameron’s not a “love at first sight” kind of guy, he has to really get to know someone first

- so when you started gravitating towards him in the group, asking him for help with schoolwork, and sitting near him during supper, he had ample opportunity to talk to you

- the poets probably didn’t realize anything suspicious until you started snapping at charlie to leave cam alone and generally being on his side of things (or, at least not groaning and scoffing when he got too annoying)

- charlie was probably the first to notice, and the moment you were a little too quick to defend cam or perk up at him being mentioned, he kind of went “oh no. you can’t be serious.”

- naturally, whether you confirmed his suspicions or not, he told the rest of the poets

- and THAT was when things changed.

- cameron likely wasn’t fully aware of his feelings until the other poets started teasing him about it like they knew something he didn’t. for example, why was he taking more time than usual to get ready in the morning? why was he always fixing his hair or his uniform more when you were around? why did he always smile at the things you said? why did he always make weird faces when the other poets did anything physical with you? why was he slightly (and only slightly) more lenient about bending the rules if it was you who suggested it?

- suddenly he was hyper aware of every time you two made eye contact while laughing at something. suddenly he was hyper aware of every time you two accidentally brushed shoulders while walking. suddenly he was hyper aware of the smirks on the other poets’ faces whenever he leaned over to help you with your math homework.

- he started panicking, basically. he wanted to always be perfect around you and he overthought every interaction and this poor boy was a mess on the inside

- of course, cameron wasn’t going to admit a thing to the other poets. if they knew, then they’d surely tell you, and that would be an absolute mess. no, they’d just have to never find out.

- they found out and totally exposed him when you weren’t around.

- after vehement denial and arguing, he finally admitted to them that okay, maybe he did like you.

- it definitely still took a while for this cute (and admittedly terribly annoying) mutual pining thing you two had going on to get anywhere

- even when you both started getting a little more physical (lingering hand brushes, letting your shoes/legs touch while sitting down, nudging each other before making a comment or joke), a little more obvious (spending more time together without the others, unconsciously copying each other, him being notably chivalrous for you), and a little more curious (“wait, did they do that because we’re friends or because they like me?”), there was a sort of standstill

- cameron’s very prideful and very protective of himself, he wasn’t going to risk rejection and the awkwardness that comes with it. he wasn’t going to complicate things and risk ruining a friendship he’d grown to really appreciate.

- until the others teased him about it until he had enough. fine. he’d ask you out if they’d stop bugging him about it.

- he was beyond anxious that entire next day. he put it off as long as he could, not being able to focus in class, being unusually quiet in the hallways, that sort of thing. but when everyone was sent to bed for the night, and you and him were the only two left, he finally blurted it out.

- “hey, so uh… would you wanna go hang out this weekend? without everyone else?”

- “…like a date?”

- “yeah. if you want it to be.”

- and you smiled. and you told him you’d love for it to be a date. and finally, it felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

Dating:

- cameron’s definitely a good boy, the kind you’d take home to your parents and when he leaves they’d go “what a nice boy” bc he’d be polite and respectful the whole time

- if you’re also a bit of a goody two shoes (like me) you guys end up becoming the tired parents of the friend group

- in the beginning of the relationship most planned dates are more on the formal side (he’s very traditional and wants to impress you) but over time he loosens up a bit and dates get more casual

- i don’t really see him using pet names, the only nicknames he’d use would be versions of your name (unless someone was flirting with you, but we’ll get to that in a moment)

- if you’re the type to use pet names, he’s fine with it as long as they’re not… embarrassing. please don’t call him your little carrot cake (or do, please do, just to see the way his entire face turns red)

- (btw he’s typically good at keeping his cool but you’d learn how to make him blush bc us gingers are so pale and blush WAY TOO EASILY and you’d think it’s adorable when he gets nervous)

- he gets jealous pretty easily and would start getting protective the moment it seemed like someone was flirting with you. if it was a stranger hitting on you, that would be one of the only times he’d call you by a pet name, just so they’d get the hint and leave you alone. if it was someone he knew, who was aware you two were together, he’d either wrap an arm around you or straight up tell them to back off

- speaking of physical contact, affection!

- generally, he’s not huge on pda. especially not in class because he’s trying to focus. in hallways he might be okay with brief kisses or little hand squeezes but that’s about it

- when he holds your hand he does the little thumb rub

- sometimes you two sneak into his room when charlie’s not around just to cuddle and enjoy each other’s company for a bit

- He props himself up on his elbow and talks to you as you lay next to him, his hand absentmindedly sliding through your hair or fingers tracing up and down your arm

- I have this hc with every freckled character but sometimes during these moments you lean over him and count his freckles or trace shapes between them. he acts like you’re weird for doing it, but when you see his eyes eventually flutter shut and a soft smile form on his lips, you know he doesn’t mind.

- kisses with him are very slow and sweet. it actually took a little while for kissing to be anything but 100% innocent because he’s a little scared of taking things too far

- he really loves holding you close and breathing you in and letting his brain relax for a few moments

- he likes doing favors for you and helping you out when he can

- the first time you stole clothes from him he didn’t notice until you were sitting with the other poets to study one evening

- “is that… my sweater? where did you even get that?”

- he acts annoyed but deep down he finds it absolutely adorable

- if you ever left a sweater or something in his room he’d hold it close to him all night and pretend you were there

- he loves when you compliment him. even the smallest compliment is enough to boost his ego. the poets start begging you (jokingly, kind of) to stop telling him things because he always talks about it and it’s insufferable

- the two of you brag about each other a lot to the others. some of them find it amusing, but the others want to cover their ears and groan until you stop.

- there’s quite a bit of banter between you two. he loves debating things with you because he wants to hear your opinions (and he wants to win). i feel like you guys would jokingly insult each other too, in the kind of way where it’s okay if you say it but if the other poets say it you tell them off

- actual arguments send him into a bit of a panic, though. he knows he has flaws and that he’s defensive and prideful and struggles to admit when he’s wrong, but the last thing he’d ever want is to hurt you

- issues in the relationship might come up and linger for a while, but at some point he pulls you aside to talk about it (and apologise if need be)

- it takes a while for him to use the L-word. he thinks it a lot, but thinking something and saying it are two completely different things, and he takes it pretty seriously.

- the first time he’d ever say it would likely be during a more tender moment between you. he’d mumble the words against your lips or against your skin, then quickly pull away and say that you don’t have to say it back or anything but—

- “i love you, too.”

- “…oh.”

- he’d get a little embarrassed and try (and fail) to fight back a big smile

- he’s already terribly soft for you but hearing you say these words becomes his new weakness

- altogether i just think he’d be the sweetest boyfriend and you’d both learn and grow a lot from each other

- things might not always be the easiest between you two but you’ve got yourself a keeper, please don’t break this boy’s heart

The Higher Ups in Wrath of the Wishmaster

So, just wanted to dump my brain worms here, and talk about the OC gods that just got introduced in the 3 part instalment of Wrath of the Wishmaster that I posted.

I'd like to introduce the Higher Ups. They're basically the upper management of the pantheon, only answering to The Boss themselves. Their power and rulings override pretty much everyone else, unless the Boss intervenes. They cannot be removed from reality, stripped of their titles, demoted, or even harmed.

You've already met one, the Organizer but there's two others: the Observer and the Judge! So, let's go through their deal one by one.

The Organizer

Let's start with the one y'all have officially met, the Organizer. As the name would imply, she is the goddess in charge of the organization, planning, and paperwork of the entire pantheon. She's the one to deal with write ups, complaints, requests, and record keeping. She has a file on pretty much everything to have ever lived in the multiverse, all perfectly sorted in an infinite records room. She's always super busy. She's also Orbo's direct supervisor, and by extension Scarab's. She's the one who sends the official orders for Auditors to go after rule breakers.

The Observer

The Observer is a rarely seen god, but he works closely with the Organizer. He is in charge of overseeing all activity across the multiverse, particularly with anyone powerful enough to jump between universes, and the other gods. He has seen everything that has ever happened (and rumor says ever will happen) in the multiverse. He hands off this information to the Organizer for storage, and is the primary source of information for sentencing cosmic crimes. He also is the one to confirm or reject complaints and write ups from the Organizer. He commands any and all gods responsible for gathering information within the cosmos.

The Judge

The Judge is the main authority of what is and isn't a cosmic crime. It is them who decides what punishments are delivered to what write ups, who does and does not belong in the Citadel, and is the one to mark individuals as cosmic threats. If someone is marked a target, the information is given to the Organizer to then give the order to Auditors. Of the higher ups, they're the one most often seen, both by mortals and by other gods. It is them you must plead your case to if you're demanding help or mercy from the gods. Unless the Boss intervenes, the Judge can grant or strip any of the lesser gods their title and immortality. They ultimately created the Citadel and the guardians. Not surprisingly, they were a bit salty after the whole Lich fiasco.

Other notes:

Some gods don't directly answer to one of these three. Gods like Prismo and the Cosmic Owl pretty much only answer to the Boss, as it's their power they're tapping into to grant wishes and make dreams prophetic.

All three of the Higher Ups are able to pass down punishment to gods if the transgression is not considered serious. For example, in the last part of Gala of the Gods, if Prismo and Scarab actually did major damage to the Judgement Hall, the Organizer would be sending them straight to the Judge.

Someone on AO3 suggested it and I liked it a lot so I'm including it: The Organizer was kind of Scarab's mentor figure. She was pretty much the only god he really spoke to as he transitioned from mortal to immortal. They stopped talking after Scarab lost his bid for Wishmaster to Prismo. He kind of blamed her for making him think he had a chance when literally everyone else was telling him to not even bother. More on that relationship in the next chapter.

The Observer is terrifying. No one but other Higher Ups talks to the Observer. Even other gods risk going mad by looking upon him.

The Judge is so tired of everyone's bullshit. So is the Organizer tbh. Get them some coffee, dammit.

Golb/Golbetty can technically be considered a Higher Up since their power overrides Prismo's, but Golb is kind of seperate from the cosmic hierarchy. They're a chaotic nightmare, on the same level as the Higher Ups, but not technically one of them.

the worst part about it was that it wasn't even by some notorious criminal or drug lord. it was just a random mugger.

archie had been patrolling late at night when he saw a woman getting mugged while she was walking home alone.

the guy didn't look too experienced. he looked a little young and panicked, and archie figured he would try to talk him down before throwing any punches

he kept the guys attention on him, and consquently, the gun pointed at him as well. was it a little reckless? sure, but he just didn't want to put the woman in danger.

he was almost certain the guy was too scared to actually shoot.

he was doing his best to keep both the mugger and the woman calm, and he had almost fully deescalated the situation when the woman's panic reached its peak, and she suddenly jerked out of the guys grasp and started RUNNING.

the mugger got so startled that he pulled the trigger. practically point-blank into archie's chest.

he took off running as well, throwing the gun down and booking it to try and Not get arrested.

and that left archie, blood pouring from the gaping wound in his chest, staggering to conceal himself in an alleyway.

he knew something was wrong. he felt dizzy and out of breath and his entire body was shaking and he just. i feel like his intuition knew it was more serious that a simple little gunshot wound. he knew that if he didn't get help fast, he was going to die. and he was terrified.

he called simon.

simon rushed over, of course, quite literally shaking because archie only ever called simon to the field in the middle of the night when things were bad.

he had never driven so fast in his life.

when he arrived, archie was slumped over, hands clutching at the wound, and he was gasping for air.

this was. abnormal.

usual symptoms for blood loss were things like confusion, lethargy, weak and shallow breathing, but gasping? blue-tinged skin? Not Normal.

just one look at where the wound was and simon knew what likely had happened.

archie's lung was collapsing.

this was the first, and only time simon ever broke the no hospital rule.

archie is very strict on the no hopsital rule unless he can change into civilian clothing first because he really does NOT want his identity revealed. simon hates this rule, but he respects it because 1) there hasn't really been a situation he hasn't been able to handle yet and 2) archie was so very adamant and simon had never seen him so serious about something

but in this moment, simon did not care about the damn rule or his identity or anything. he just needed archie to be okay. so to the hopsital they went. if you thought simon was driving fast before, think again.

this is also one of the first times simon was crying while panicking. usually, he panicked a bit, steadied himself, dealt with the situation, then could deal with his emotions later.

but this time, he couldn't keep from sobbing as he drove archie to the hospital because he's a med student. he knows death. he knows the look people get in their eyes when they know they aren't going to make it and seeing that in archie's eyes? simon fought sobs the entire drive to the hospital.

luckily, the doctors didn't ask too many questions as it was an emergency, and treated archie right away.

archie ended up needing to stay for 2 days. they had to place a chest tube to help the air escape from his pleural cavity, and he was out of it for a lot of it. simon stayed by his side the entire time, holding his hand for dear life and gently shushing and reassuring him when the sight of the literal tube in his chest started freaking him out.

simon didn't get a wink of sleep. he stayed up, even when archie was asleep, watching the steady rise and fall of his chest. he tried not to think how close he came to losing him. i definitely think simon gained a few gray hairs that day.

but archie was also equally as terrified. nothing is worse than the feeling of your lungs literally getting smaller with every single breath you take. archie was so sure he was going to die, so when he woke up in a hospital bed with his favorite person by his side? the relief was dizzying.

so yeah! archie is fine guys. CLEARLY. he has the little scar from the tube and the Trauma, but ended up otherwise unscathed.

Tiberius Nott Senior definitely got around with a few girls before settling down with his wife Gladys.

Bruce Senior more so dated a lot after he was married, he fathered a half-blood child who later end up in Hufflepuff but he did not stick around for the mum. The only one he actually kept around and seemed to properly care for in a way he didn’t for others was Hazel (a friend of Olive Hornby)

Bartemius Senior had a pathetic crush on his wife since like fourth year but refused to do anything about it because he was friends with Artemisia’s brother but also I just think he wasn’t that popular with girls cause he was a bit of a dickhead? Not in like an active dickhead kind of way but more like he was pretty boring and would prioritise his studies and it was clear he thought he was just a liiiittle bit better than everyone else.

Edmund Senior unsuccessfully lied about being sort of boyfriend/girlfriend with the daughter of a family friend who was a few years older than him when he was in sixth year and after that he might have approached a few women but none with much success. Esther was definitely his first real anything which is why everyone considers it so unbelievable.

Eileen had a few things going on, though a lot of it was also just rumour based because she was friends with a good handful of boys

I think Tariq was a guy that a good amount of people had a hallway crush on, he was quidditch captain as well and a good looking lad, but I don’t think he entertained it a whole lot more than maybe a few flirty chats here and there but I’m not too sure tbh

As for rosekiller and wolfstar I can’t see Evan and Barty with anyone else unless it’s like bartylus for a fic setup but even then I prefer them to just be all in insane about each other. Sirius definitely had a bajillion girlfriends before Remus and I think Remus might have had one girlfriend who he tried to get it on with once before being like nope it’s not for me

The Striaton Triplets a don't have much depth, as with many of the league members.

Sure they get more in the anime, but that can be said about literally any character.

Woooooh boy the straiton triplets are obscure alright. I haven't really thought of them much tbh, and when I have, I haven't been able to get many headcanons of my own. But hey, that's what these asks are for, eh? Let's see....

Starting with Cilan, let's get the obvious out of the way. The anime made him a submas twins fanboy, so I'm making him a submas twins fanboy lmao. Moreso due to his interest in trains. Speaking of interests I also feel like he has an interest in botany. I know I know, grass type leader, good with plants, it's cliche yes. But it's more so he can grow his own herbs for meals! It's a group effort between him and his brothers, but off the three, Cilan definitely has the green thumb. I imagine he's also a really good singer, and he likes singing when he's attending the plants. That being said he is painfully shy about it, despite his brothers encouragement. I think Cilan, just from his memory link with his brothers, is the more....non combatant of the three? Both in his shy nature compared to his brothers, but also like. He's more accepting of a certain rhythm or expectation,and doesn't really try to change that? At least to me. Post BW has certainly changed that for him, but it's still a flaw I think. He accepts things how they are even when they aren't great. And it's not entirely his fault, I just think he doesn't always see The Problem, you know?

Chili, ngl, give me younger brother energy. Or maybe middle child energy? No clue lmao. I think, of the three, he's the most interested in battling. He likes the energy of it! Of the three, Chili is arguably the best cook, and has a pretty diverse palette. Sweet, savory, spicy, you name it, he got it! Unlike Cilan, can't sing for shit. Got amazing dance moves though ( a great tap dancer). He....is very bad at ignoring rumors. It doesn't help that Cress is a sucker for them. He's even worse at not taking them to heart sometimes. Sometimes it's justified ( look at the memory link) but sometimes he gets ticked off if someone says anything bad about him or his brothers. He's not good at letting things go ( though, at the same time, he would often forget what he was upset about unless what's being said was really bugging him). Chili is the one that wants to be seen as his own individual with his own strength the most. Cilan is too complacent in his eyes, and Cress....well Cress understands but also thinks Chili's overthinking it ( which, to an extent, he is).

Cress! The trio's main gossiper! I don't know where I got this idea from but it's funny thinking how easily Chili falls for whatever shit Cress talks about. 99% of the time it's fake, but he's not telling Chili that. Cilan can sing, Chili can dance, and Cress can play a mean piano. He also can make a stellar latte. Not in combatant like Cilan, but not as eager for a fight like Chili. He likes battling, naturally, but it's like. " Okay, well I like this enough, sure". I think he's also, somehow, the one who's the most organized of the three? He's the one that makes sure the other two are on track with work in my eyes ( again, that memory link changed how I see these three). It's usually him and Chili butting heads but when there's a moue serious conversation in which Chili and Cilan aren't exactly seeing eye to eye, he's usually the one listening to both sides, and making sure everyone remains level headed ( mostly Chili, but you get it).

Now. These three, in my eyes, are teens. Who are they're parents? Where are they? Never said. It's not unusual for kids in the pokemon world to be doing this type of stuff, but you still gotta wonder about it. So I propose this: The restaurant that is their gym was just a restaurant before. It became a gym after the three became gym leaders ( why three gym leaders? Because alder thought it would be funny. Plus he didn't have the heart to pit the boys against each other). Said restaurant was and still is owned by their parents, they've just taken a back seat due to the gym leader thing. Once the boys retire, the restaurant comes in full swing! And....yeah that's all I got.
