Rookie (2023) - a Phillipino lesbian movie, saw this tiktok and wanted to give it a try

Bon Appetit (2023) - Originally didn't have this on my list because it has a meh MDL rating but this tiktok of guy 1 liking girl liking guy 2 like guy 1 is fun

Kiseki: Dear to Me (2023) - I've seen it mentioned sooo many times that I thought I'd give it a try.

The Guest (2018) - I haven't yet liked a supernatural/fantastical kdrama but maybe this will be the one. Also apparently it's a good bromance that starts off antagonistic

Through the Darkness (2022) - Also a thriller investigation with strong bromance

My Perfect Stranger (2023) - Saw this Tiktok and ended up watching a few more and idk, it reminds me of 18 Again somehow with like younger version and family stuff

Twinkling Watermelon (2023) - same reason as above in terms of plot, it's also in the same tiktok, and it seemed to be very popular among the kdramas this year

Lucky My Love (2023) - wanna watch it cuz it's a GL but unfortunately people don't seem too keen on it :/ oh well, I'll keep it on hand for when I'm craving a GL

Death's Game (2023) - Hadn't heard much about it until I saw Pocha Playlist podcast covering it but I didn't listen to that episode. Then I find out that Lee Dohyun plays a (reincarnation) character in it and now I'm like hmm maybe + the rating and reception seems really good on MDL.

Last Twilight - hmmm people have very polarizing opinions on the last ep (both the disability aspect but also the general storytelling aspect), so I'm cautious but people reallllly love the first 9 episodes. Just adding it here in case I wanna see what the hype was about

The Worst of Evil (2023) - It's in a lot of people's 2023 favourites lists and it seems like a show I'd be into based on genre

The Dude in Me (2019) - a movie about an adult in the body of a teenager, found it from this tiktok with 18 Again and Twinkling Watermelon.

Our Beloved Summer (2021) - I had had this on my to-watch list for a while because I like a post-breakup story and people seem to love this show but had taken it off because I kept not watching it and heard some meh opinions but now it's back again because in Twinkling Watermelon tiktoks, this showed up a couple times in the tiktoks or comments bc people were mentioning Yi Chan and this guy as green flags and shows they loved etc

I Hear Your Voice (2013) - a 2013 drama lol but the Eun Gyeol/Se Kyeong tease in Watermelon Sugar made me remember that I kinda wanna watch noona romance sometimes, so this is for that time. + it's like mystery/suspence plot I think

Death's Game Part 2 (2024)

Youth of May (2021) - Obviously I've heard about this because I was looking for Lee Dohyun shows to watch after 18 Again but idk if I'm up for a tragedy :< but yknow he's in the military now, so maybe I'll watch one of his shows a year to tide me over. Thought of it again because I saw this tiktok when going through LDH tiktok tag

The Good Bad Mother (2023) - This was another case of "When will Lee Dohyun finally again star in a show I wanna watch?" But I saw like 2 mins of this edit on youtube of dude being 7 and ahh it's humorous (Ik it's supposed to be really heavy and traumatizing actually so I avoided it but idk if there's some levity as well and it's really beloved w the 8.9 rating and stuff maybe I'll give it a try to see Lee Dohyun - esp as he's in the military rn). After all, it's not like I knew 18 Again was show/concept I love like this

Lesson in Love (2022) - (240129) Sometimes you just want an uncomfortable and gross relationship... student/teacher noona (well jiejie?) romance and the comments talk about a plot twist (i saw the spoiler lol) anyway... might watch. Saw it first in this Certified Noonas Coming Up live. The student is an adult irl, so I'm gonna just pretend it's that in the show too. Also side note but he was also in Red Balloon and apparently his sister is a lesbian.

Overall Impression: First movie of the year! Very, very funny and wacky, thoroughly enjoyed it. Hazel is sooo attractive lol, as is Isabel. Loved Josie being a sweetheart and reluctant to go along with antics except then going in wayyy too hard with the juvie stories lol. PJ was insufferable but like in a good way? like yesss, high school girl who says things before thinking and is an asshole! Also lesbian movies where they kill men is always fun, this time it being an actual funny comedic part. The whole movie was ridiculous and I'm glad.

Rating: 6.5/10 [Mar 11, 2024 Update: Decreased by 0.5 stars: 7 -> 6.5]

Overall Impression: In 2019, I binged Brooklyn 99 like 2-3 times and was obsessed with it and then watched some of Andy Samberg's other stuff and added this to the list of things to watch once it comes out a year later and does its festival tours or whatever... anyway it's now 2024 lol but it was fun! A good mix of the romance and interpersonal relationships with the sciency aspects. I was expecting it to focus more on the characters rather than the science or plot and that struck true, though there were definitely a few interesting bits to chew on in terms of worldbuilding. Funny and charming but not life-changing and predictable but not in a bad way.

Rewatch Beyond Evil: Jan 8 - 12, 2024

It's so fun to rewatch because I catch things that I hadn't before, not just about the case but about the different characters and their storylines. Also, all the stuff from 20 years ago that is repeating now which I'm catching onto earlier because I remember things that haven't been revealed in the show yet.

Han Joo Won continues to be way too naive and self-rightous, even if Lee Dongshik really was the killer. His methods are careless and reckless despite trying to seem rational.

Since I'm watching this after a year and it's a show with many storylines, I'm still extremely engaged lol watching this at 1x speed and watching it all when I expected that I'd be skimming through. I also forgot a lot of the smaller stuff and some of the kinda big middle stuff, so it's fun to rediscover them. Ep 7 ending & Ep 8 beginning are a fucking great combo fr even still.

Overall Impression: Started watching because the guy1 likes girl likes guy2 likes guy1 tiktok was funny but not high hopes for the actual show. Skimmed through this so hard, honestly shouldn't have even watched it because it didn't seem too good from my skimming. The main two characters were cute-ish in the first half of the show and the Yoon Seobin surprise cameo for 2 minutes was fun, but meh otherwise. Skimmed even the main couple scenes in the last 2 eps because random fighting and misunderstandings. Not rating it because I skimmed through like 60% of it lmfao

Overall Impression: I'm fucking obsessed with this sort of concept: Parent and child being the same teenage age through some magical concept. It's got a good storyline, hilarious yet touching. I was afraid that they'd make Yi Chan's hearing come back but I'm glad it didn't; it's just something that has to happen to him for no reason the way these things just happen sometimes. The characters were well-crafted and the acting was great. Kinda slow paced, there were certain episodes where I was like nothing really happened, but I guess that's the point of the slice of life aspect in some cases; just watching the characters exist alone and together.I was into the ChCh romance from the get-go and thought they were sooo cute whereas EunEun were a more fun menace pair who I just liked to watch fighting before it gradually became a couple I shipped Very Much. Also, a shoutout to my Se Kyeong (OG, not Eun Yoo) and Chung Ah ship, I can't believe Se Kyeong's first love was her husband instead of Chung Ah. A well-crafted show, good acting, hit some feels and I expect some attachment to it (I'm rewatching and skimming certain parts as I write lol).

Overall Impression: I liked the main couple: a younger, insistent pursuer to an older, reluctant hyung who was also his tutor when the younger was in high school. I do wish the random stalker, weird hyung wasn't haunting them for so long though because the premise of this couple is so good. I came around to the second and third couple even though if the show was longer or deeper, I might not have. I was bored by the last 2 eps though, so ehhh

Overall Impression: Weird to rate just this half-show 4 episodes but really good and interesting, I'm enjoying it a lot. My favourite eps are eps 2 and 4, they balanced a good amount of heart with excitement (for ep 2) and plot progression/answers (ep 4 + ofc Lee Dohyun my initial reason for checking out the show). The 18 Again characters/actors are haunting me with this fr.

Death's Game Part 2 (2024)

Overall Impression: Firstly, fuck the message of the show. In shows like this, where they treat suicide as a personal, moral failure of selfishness and weakness rather than due to systematic issues in society, mental health struggles, or treating the characters with kindness, it's of utmost importance to just roll your eyes and see the story/acting/etc. Eps 1 to half of 3 were interesting and exciting but in the way of "I'm watching a show with murder and gore and people trying to outsmart each other" rather than about this specific show. The ending is... okay, I guess, expected it. In Part 1, Death just left something to be desired for me and this kinda continued here. Don't think I'll think of this show much (except maybe Lee Dohyun?) and the 2nd part didn't have the excellent pacing of the first one. Not as good as part 1.

Last years valentine comic, poor Mei was left out and I never ever got to do a follow up. So this year, Mei gets an entire comic to herself.

Also as an aside, i’d like for all the single people who hate the holiday because it reminds them of their singleness to look to the holiday as a day to be nice to themselves, for self care (physical, mental, emotional), and to do something nice for themselves. I typically use it as a day to buy myself something I wanted and do fun things. And to practice the continual lesson that I do not deserve self loathing and to work through negative thinking.

The final part of our Peter’s X-mas wish trilogy that shoulda been done earlier but hey it’s finally here. Guess Peter in this outcome finally got himself a girlfriend. Or at least that’s the local gossip according to class 1-a and 1-b.

Can't wait to see what you have in store! Hope we get to see more peter and momo moments (feel's sometimes people don't cheer enough for her, class big sis needs some love too.) Also take your time, whatever you got planned is gonna be great. Much love and peace!

Jeez has it already been a year???? Ah well, so in summary, this year Peter's relations with several girls has grown, more MHA characters made their appearance, and Peter either snarked/quipped/bungled his way through everything. I didn't get to make as much as i wanted to this year, but hopefully that changes next year.

As for what's in store for Peter in 2022?

I got an idea or two......

Howl - Part 3

(hello babies, so this part isn’t nearly as long as the others so im really sorry, but my laptops gonna die and idk when im gonna get a new charger ((hopefully tomorrow)) so plz enjoy this <3 okay ily BYEEE)

Word Count: 1,446

How can one person think about someone they don’t know so much? Was it his hair? His eyes? The way he licks his lips? You feel your cheeks heat up at that thought and quickly look around to make sure no one is watching you. The three boys are lost in a conversation you have no knowledge of. You lean back against the couch and stare off into space and return to your thoughts about Ben. You couldn’t put your finger on it. 

What fascinated you about him? Yeah he was gorgeous, but you’ve never been infatuated about a person this much, especially just meeting them. You exhale sharply when all of a sudden the front door opens up and slams shut. You jump slightly as you sit up straight. You look over to the entrance and stare intensely as you hope that it was a certain person that will walk into the room at any moment. You’re heart slowly sinks when Lucy walks in. She looks to you and smiles wide as all of the boys jump up to greet her. You stand up as well and walk over to her, arms open for a hug.

“Y/n, it feels like it’s been forever!” she says as she pulls you in for a bear hug. You smile as she lightly squeezes and you pull away to face her.

“I know! Two days is just unbearably long, best friend.” you say sarcastically. Lucy dramatically puts her hand to her heart and closes her eyes. The two of you laugh as you walk back to the couch and slump down. Lucy follows and sits next to you, still giggling. The boys all go back to their conversation as Lucy turns to face you.

“So, did you finally meet Ben?” she asks, raising a brow. “Joe said he was back in town.”

You feel your heart fasten at his name. What was going on with you? If anyone could hear your thoughts right now, they’d try to get you help. How is it that you’re melting over one guy you just met? You haven't felt this way in a long time, crushing on some guy. You felt like you were in elementary again.

“Oh,” you say, clearing your throat. “Yeah, I met him. He was really nice.” you say, feeling your cheeks flush once more. Lucy rolls her eyes and laughs.

“Oh, please.” she says. “Ben is anything but nice, believe me.”

You’re taken back by her words and furrow your brows. He really did seem nice. Yeah he might have sent off this dark, mysterious, bad boy vibe, but he genuinely seemed decent.

“Why would you say that?” you ask, slightly shaking your head. She sits up straighter and looks over to Joe, who’s staring at her. She tenses her jaw and looks back to you, smiling.

“No, he’s nice. I’m just teasing. He’s just, um, rough. Just be careful.” she says. You nod and look down at your hands. What was so bad about him? Gwil said for you to not get involved and now Lucy was saying to be careful. What the hell was up with this guy? Them telling you to stay away from him made you want him even more. Want him? You sound so ridiculous right now. You look around the room once more and feel like you need to clear your head. You should really go home and study for your class tomorrow. You agree with yourself and slowly stand to your feet, holding your purse close to yourself.

“I’m gonna go study, guys.” you say, making everyone look to you. They all stand up and frown.

“Right now?” asks Joe, sadly. You nod and frown as well. He walks up and hugs you. Lucy stands next to you and hugs you next.

“Are you sure?” asks Gwil.

“Unfortunately, but I’ll see you guys later. I promise.” you say, hugging him and Rami. You walk towards to the door as Joe follows. You get to it and pause to turn around. He smiles and hugs you once more.

“You better not go as long without seeing us this time.” he says. You laugh and roll your eyes.

“Okay, I promise. How about tomorrow after class? I don’t work so it’s perfect.” you say as you slowly open the front door. Joe smiles back and nods.

“Yes, tomorrow! I’ll see you then. Please be safe.” he says, getting a bit serious. You smile back to him and walk outside. You shut the door and turn around. You walk down the porches steps and towards your car. As you’re walking you hear someone clear their throat.

“You leavin’?”

You turn your head fast and slightly jump at the sudden voice. Standing outside, leaning against his car with a cigarette hanging from his mouth, is Ben. He’s watching you and smirks when you stare and say nothing. He leans away from the car and grasps the cigarette between his fingers and take a long drag, letting the smoke flow out of his parted lips. You almost envied the smoke for touching his mouth. You swallow hard at that sight and awkwardly smile. Your grip on your purse tightens.

“Um, yeah. I gotta go study.” you reply back as you continue walking. Ben takes a step forward watches you.

“Well I hope to see you again.” he calls out. You freeze and turn to look back at him. You weren't sure what to say. It’s as if your tongue decided to stop working. All you could do was smile and slide into the front seat of your car and start it. You glance back to him as he takes another puff, his eyes on you. You quickly put your seat belt on and drive away, still feeling his eyes on you. Your heart was pounding and you were almost happy you were away from him. You felt so awestruck and confused when you were looking at him. Is this what it feels like when you have a crush? You reach your arm forward and turn on your radio.

“I'm on the hunt down I'm after you. Smell like I sound I'm lost in a crowd and I'm hungry like the wolf”

You turn the song up and loudly sing along with it, distracting yourself. You attempt to clear your head, but Ben keeps popping back up. You sing even louder, but it doesn’t help. You drive for what feels like forever and continue singing. You pull up to a stop sign and look both ways. It’s clear as you start driving once more. You’re lost in your song when all of a sudden the sound of a loud horn blasts through the air. Before you could look over, your car is smacked from behind and thrown forward. You scream at the contact and cover your face quickly. You gasp for air as the airbag flies out and barely misses your face. You come to a sudden stop and slowly open your eyes. You feel something warm and wet slide down your face. You bring your hand up and touch your forehead. You close your eyes as it stings and pull away to stare at bright red blood glistening on your fingers.

You look around and watch as people are rushing up to you. You quickly unbuckle your seat belt and begin to feel woozy. You weakly open the car door and swing your legs out. You hear a person calling out for you to not move. Everyone kept yelling at you and asking if you were okay. You slowly stand on your feet and feel a slight pinch in your leg.You go to look down, but someone is screaming loudly. You look over and watch as a man is holding his head, eyes wide open. He looks terrified as he looks at you and behind him. You couldn’t make out what he was saying, but he looks scared. 

“Did you see that!?” you hear him scream out. People were confused and trying to calm him down. “No, did you see that!? Oh my God, did you see that!?” he keeps screaming. 

You then finally look down to the pain in your leg and stare at a long piece of glass sticking out. Blood’s spilling out of the wound and suddenly your head begins to spin. Everything around you becomes fuzzy and eventually white. Before you know it, your eyes close and you feel yourself fall on your back, smacking the concrete. The last thing you remember were the sounds of people screaming and the siren of an ambulance. Then everything went quiet and black.

You dyed your hair blonde, you did't have the same eye color, you were pretty much almost opposite of Elena, your twin and yet all eyes are on her, her and only her. And that made you snap, you sat on the couch, listening to how to protect your twin from Klaus. "Oh my fucking god! Can you all shut up?!" You exclaimed. Everyone's eyes turned to you. "You all wanna know what's so fucked up? She may be the doppelgänger but didn't it occur to you narrow headed people that Elena and I share the same blood?! But hey, Klaus could be stupid to think that he can also use my blood but yeah, lets just protect the one who looks like her after all I could just be his blood bag." You said and stormed up to your room. Everyone fell silent. Damon and Stefan frowned as they heard you pack. Stefan turned to Elena but before he could speak, you were dragging two bags down the stairs.

Damon sped up to the door to stop you. "You're not going anywhere, princess." He said. "Get out of my way, Damon." You glared at him. "You are not going anywhere–" "Let her go." Elena said, with her I'm-30-minutes-older-than-you voice. "What?" Damon knitted his eyebrows. "You heard her, let. me. go." You said and the great mysterious Damon got intimidated with your tone. He stepped to the side and you got in your crappy car, shut it, and drove. You drove endlessly towards the west and after a week of deciding whether this was the place to stop, you finally felt it. The town sign Grants Pass went into view and you stopped at a nearby diner. Before you can exit your car, you saw two men approaching and you held the wooden stake that was conveniently in your car.

You rolled down the window and the shorter one leaned down. "Is there anything I can help you with?" He asked. "I just got into town, I'm not looking for any trouble." You replied with a smile. "It's not really safe here, you better go." He said. You felt droplets of water into your arm and you looked at him and he was holding a small vial. "Excuse me, your water is dripping. And where I'm from, it's much dangerous." You said and eyed his hand. "She's good, Sam." You heard him yell from across. "How so?" He asked. "You know what, I'll tell you over coffee?" You offered and he looked weary. "It's really not safe to be here." He said. "I think I can handle myself." You said. You got out of the car but before you can make a step, a person rushed to you and bared his– fangs? "Oh are you fucking kidding me?!" You said as both guys shielded you from them.

That vampire put up a fight with the two guys and might as well help them you thought, you grabbed your stake and when the coast was clear you went ahead and stabbed that monster in the heart. The men looked at you, shocked but with the upper hand they got, they decapitated the vampire. "Um..." You started. "Are you a hunter?" The taller guy asked. "No? Kinda? Why didn't that thing like die when I staked it?" You asked. "Cuz they're... weird." The shorter guy replied. "I had to deal with vampire and I left and they're fucking everywhere." You tone was scary. "We gotta go." You looked towards your car only to find it smoking. "Ugh!" You screamed. You were on the verge of a panic attack but the shorter guy grabbed you into his arm as the other grabbed your bags from your car. You followed them to their car and you sat in the back.

"What's your name?" The taller guy asked. "(Y/n)." You replied fiddling with the bloodied stake. "My name is Sam and this my brother, Dean." He said and Dean raised his eyebrows at you. "Where are you from?" "Mystic Falls, Virginia." You answered. "You drove all the way here?" Dean asked. "Yeah." "Why?" You sighed. "I have twin who is more special than me I guess and theres this Original, one of the first vampires created is looking for my sister and she dating this vampire who has a vampire brother who's in love with her. It's all doppelgänger shit. All too messy." You explained. "Don't worry sweetheart, we handle messy too." Dean replied. "What made you drive all the way here?" Sam asked. "I didn't feel like stopping. Each place I end up in felt empty and the one place that made me want to hop off was a total wreck." You answered.

A complete silence surrounded you all as Dean drove. "You can stay with us." Dean said out of nowhere. You and Sam looked at him like he was crazy. "You trust me enough to let me go with you? I mean, I just need to hop off to a safer place, find a car, and let you two go on your merry ride." You said, shrugging. Sam and Dean conversed with their eyes and mutter and you waited for a reply. Sam looked behind to you with a smile. "We'll gladly let you stay with us, we just gotta make sure you're –not like them." He said and you smiled. "I'm grateful for your offer but I don't wanna be a burden..." You said. "I don't think you'll be, sweetheart." Dean said, meeting your eyes through the rear view mirror.

You aimed, an eye slightly closing and you took your shot. You smiled, putting the gun down. "Nice shot, sweetheart." Dean mused looking at your 1/8th an inch inside the bullseye shot. "The best one I've done so far." You commented with a chuckle looking at your low precision.  "Well, I think you can handle a dagger?" He asked. "Yeah? I think I can." You replied. "Back where I'm from, those types of vampires die with a wooden stake to the heart." You added. He raised his eyebrows with a slight frown and nodded. "Huh, guess there's many types of vamps." He said and you shrugged.

"Well, are you ready to go on the supply run?" He asked. "Sam coming?" You asked and you'd be lying if you didn't see a hint of hurt on his face. "Nah, said he wanted to stay to read the lores." He said. "Nerd." You muttered making Dean chuckle. "Well, let me get the list of what we need, 'kay?" You asked and he nodded, watching you intently as you walked away from him. You also would be lying if you didn't feel his gaze burning a hole through your shorts.

"Have fun!" Sam called out as you and Dean made way to the garage. You shook your head smiling, Sam had seen the connection you two had from the very first time you met. Dean have had this instinct to protect you when you thought no one would ever do, not the like the people you thought were your family.

"Hey, before you want to go to the store, want to grab some pie or something at the diner?" He asked, turning to you as you drove on the stretch of highway. You tilted your head to the side. "Are –are you asking me on a date, Winchester?" You asked. You sounded confident but inside, you were dying. His cheek turned a tinge of pink but hid it well with a smirk. "Dean, you remember the first night we met?" You asked, feeling suddenly shy.

"Yeah."

"I've stayed with you two for 3 years and despite the messy hunting life and demons and angels shit, I've never felt at home like I do this past years. And funny thing is, I feel most at home when you and I are together, like this or the at the gun range. I know I sound super sappy–" The car veered to the side and just as quick as lightning, Dean turned to you, hand softly cupping your cheek, his lips crushing against your like magnets.

Your initial shock was replaced with a sigh of relief.

You molded your lips with his and soon enough, you needed to breathe. "Funny thing is, that's exactly how I've felt with you." He replied, copying your words. "I'll take that pie and ice cream offer."

Nakajima Yoshiki’s “Tomorrow will be better than today” #2

I'd been thinking that the parts of the world I know of is a small one. And what a person doesn't know, he doesn't understand, does he?

This is the second part of a canvassed twelve-part series of translations of Nakajima Yoshiki's KIKI VOICE diaries. The entire post is crossposted onto Wordpress but can be seen under the cut!

#2: That's right, let's go on a trip

It's hot! It's hot, isn't it-! Hello everyone, it's Nakajima Yoshiki.

Rather than it being suddenly sunny, the weather's smoothly turned into a hot and humid Japanese summer.

Nakajima's naturally curly hair hasn't been listening to him lately...sorry.

Honestly, this year, I'd decided that my big goal would be to "go to many places!" I've been a bit slow at fulfilling this, though (lol)

I come from Yokohama in the Kanagawa prefecture (Kantou), and for as long as I can remember I've never gone far from Kantou. Well, even if my family says "we'd gone to these and those places before, though," if I myself can't remember it, they don't count.

I'd been thinking that the parts of the world I know of is a small one. And what a person doesn't know, he doesn't understand, does he?

So I've decided to start from within our borders, and there's a lot of stuff I wanna see!

Speaking of!

I went to Okinawa. The sea's pretty~

Took a day trip on a bullet train.

It's my first time in Okinawa! I've got some friends who come from Okinawa, but this is the first time I've gone there for myself!

Iyaah, it's hot! (chit-chat) It's twice as hot as Tokyo! (more chit-chat)

I got a rental car over there, and usually, when I was on the south side of the island, that's all the small talk I could do!

And then I chowed down on Okinawa soba like an idiot(^q^)

Going on unknown roads, riding an unfamiliar car, they all gave off this mysterious vibe.

The car passed by lots of places. Sometimes there'd be something about it that reminds me of home. Also, the place names! I didn't read any of em! (lol)

I'm from Kanagawa, and now I have the privilege of working in Tokyo, but this - this is also a place where people live, this is also how they spend their everyday lives. I wonder if there's anyone here who came from the same hometown as me, who ended up working in Okinawa.

Different people live different lives, and not one of them is interchangeable with another. Also, I think the Okinawans we got to meet were really easy to talk to.

That's right!

Together with Yashiro Taku-kun who (FINALLY) got his driver's license, and Uchida Yuuma-kun who happened to be free at the time (including last month this is the 2nd time I've mentioned him), we went for a drive along the sea~

It's the first time I've done something like go to the sea with my friends.

Of course, we couldn't go for a dip in the ocean, though. Even though Yuuma bought a swimsuit.

At any rate, I just said "let's hang out!" and we got together immediately, went for a drive and got there. This kind of initiative is something the me from the not-so-distant past would've never thought about (lol)

I have good friends.

Something I'm thankful for is that this year, the jobs I've gotten outside Tokyo have increased.

Every time, I get to eat the delicious food from those places. It may seem to be a veeery simple thing, but I think and i've noticed that stuff like the smells of those places, are as easy to remember as one's earliest childhood memory.

Thinking “I wonder if my understanding has gotten broader” and stuff, and re-learning stuff all over, is the meaning behind a good trip.

I wonder where should I go next-?

Nakajima Yoshiki

●This Month's Recipe● Simple! Arrabbiata

Won't you have spicy food to match a hot summer? Arrabbiata is "anger" in Italian. The reason for that seems to be 'cuz the spiciness causes your face to look angry. That's what I saw in Wikipedia.

Add capsicum to taste. Simmer the garlic together with the olive oil, and when their aroma is strong enough, add canned tomatoes.

And that's it! The variations are endless! This time I added the umami and sweetness of vegetables, and onions too.

By the way, this arrabbiata in particular is something I fed Yamashita Daiki-kun and Fukamachi Toshinari-kun when they dropped by my house, so it's a creation of mine I have confidence in. By all means, please try it out! 　 (For one serving)　

100g pasta

one clove of garlic

one piece of capsicum pepper (to taste)

1/2 onions (finely chopped)

150g canned tomato

olive oil

salt

sugar

※If you add a bit of sugar to the tomato sauce, it'll taste better and bring out the sourness of the tomatoes!

Like I said in the first part - I always have to keep reminding myself that Yoshiki writes more casually than Souma, who I usually translate for. If this means I completely eschew exact translation in some parts, so be it - I wonder if his "voice" got through to you?

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY PEOPLE WENT TO OKINAWA. I’m assuming he went there on his own, but the fun thing with Japanese is that he doesn’t have to specify if he was with other people, so I’m winging this...

An earlier episode of Fuburaji shows that Kobapyon and Nakkyan hang out a lot, Kobapyon jokingly saying Nakkyan sticks to him ‘cuz he got no other friends. (Or at least...I hope..he was joking...) (Seriously tho, in his feature with Shohei, Nakkyan also says he’d wanna hang out with Shohei more. Pls just give him friends)
