Am I like... completely misremembering the phase 1 IDW lore before the phase 2 and 3 retcons? Do I need to reread?

#im sorry was deadlock a big deal??#i really dont think he was in the grand scheme of things #he was a symbol. he was important enough #he definitely served a purpose in the propaganda machine of early megatron-lead decepticons #but as an individual im pretty sure deadlock was small-time not really a big name and not important as anything beyond an idea #he was second in command for turnoil. who was barely relevant to IDW #he was a small time hitman with a decent enough reputation to make him into an example #but small potatos enough that he is obviously just another soldier #not actually that powerful #not actually that formidable #just a cog in the machine who's tragic and scary enough to be a good example one time #he was a poseterboy for five minutes at a ralley early in the war then he was trained as a soldier #idk i just dont remember him being a huge deal #and if he was i think the story is worse for it lmao

The thing about the time lords is yeah they’re a super powerful species, it wouldn’t be all that inaccurate to call them gods of time, but you get yourself a time lord and like 70% of the time it’s like oh this is a guy I could kick in the shins really hard and get away with it unscathed

#they are very powerful but few time lords actually seem to know how to use that power (or really even just the idea of that power) outside #of gallifrey and it’s practically unchanging systems of power #like there’s definitely a few that are formidable all on their own #but like take your average time lord out of gallifrey and they’re not much more than a smart and time sensitive some guy #like look at fucking spandrell and engin #or most of the chancellery guard #they don’t actually have any skills/powers outside of the ones placed upon them by gallifrey #get them alone and they’re nothing #the time lords power comes from their reputation and the systems built at the beginning of their society more than like #some sort of time lordness #doctor who #time lords

i've seen figure skater sanji and hockey player zoro before. idk if its been explored but i'd love to put it out there:

hockey player sanji (specifically goalie bc he desperately wants to avoid being checked) and then pairs skater zoro.

pairs skater zoro's long time partner has been nami. though many people ship them together a Lot, they just know each other super well. Well enough to try dating and both of them realized they don't swing that way. in fact, it makes them a really good team. they fought long and hard to claim top spots in competitions because they portray a chemistry that's separate from the rest. plus zoro can carry nami like she weighs fucking nothing. so their lifts are so much more dynamic. they even have a whole next to impossible combination that they're trying to get the ISU to name after them officially.

sanji plays for the East Blue Straw Hats in the Grand Line Hockey League – a formidable rookie group that took down lots of big names in the preseason. they want to make it all the way to the postseason playoff finals but always seem to fall short. but theyre so determined. they reignited a lot of old sparks that were no longer there for old fans and brought in new and curious fans. sanji is the starter goalie and a damn good one at that. it makes sense bc goalies are often doing splits on the ice just to make a save. he's perfected the technique that utilizes just his legs to make saves that make the crowd go fuckin insane.

we have the usual "i booked the rink to practice before you did" trope but a little more spice. in actuality, sanji loves watching pairs skating competitions. his favorite pair rn is franky and robin (mostly for robin). and he adamantly does not want to admit to anyone that he watches zoro and nami's routines much more frequently. (and if anyone asks, he always says its bc of nami. its never just bc of nami.) and zoro's besties with luffy so he always watches their matches even if he barely understands the rules. and he definitely does not stare at a certain blond starter goalie most of the match thats fucking ridiculous

one day zoro and sanji are invited to do one of those comparison videos between hockey players and figure skaters. both get to laugh at the other even Attempting to do their sport. zoro frankly looks ridiculous in all of sanji's usual goalie get-up. and sanji couldn't land an euler to save his life. the video producer suggests they try a simple pairs skating routine. sanji is like "oh i couldn't do that–hEY WHAT THE FUCK MOSSHEAD PUT ME DOWN" because zoro lifted sanji and had him sat on his shoulder like it was normal.

zoro smirks, "you might be lighter than nami, actually. wanna be my new partner?"

sanji knees him in the stomach before skating away while blushing so hard he could melt the ice beneath him.

When Sol had that 'come to Jesus' moment after seeing Sun Jae come out of the bathroom looking like that I was sort of like lmfao girl why are you freaking out, this isn't the first time you've seen him half-naked. He was a swimmer, the first time she met him (again) he had climbed out of the pool and she just threw herself at him when he was wearing nothing but speedos and a towel.

But then I realized that back then, she didn't really see him as a man back then. He was her idol, her hero. Someone she adored but didn't desire. He's had the body of a Greek god this whole time and she was just like 'nope, precious boy! Must protect!' not a lustful thought in her head.

But it's different now, he's not just an idol to her, he's a man. Someone she loved (and, I'm still convinced, slept with in the other timeline) and seeing him in all his well muscled glory is enough to give her a 'oh no he's hot! he's been hot' moment.

It doesn't help that in this timeline, Sun Jae actually knows how sexy he is, he knows how to weaponize it and that makes him dangerous.

i bring a sort of "i don't want to draw the keyblade" vibe that my combat-centric animations really don't like

#a few of these shots are like 'yeah the keys are mostly done. suspicious lack of hands tho'#at this point i should just print out the starlight upgrades so i'll always have the reference on hand #future me's problem! present me's gonna SLEEP #talking tag #future me four days later reporting in: the keyblades are drawn and i am reusing the HELL outta them #there's something really neat abt skuld and eph having the upgrade with the crescent moon tip #whereas the upgrade in the cutscene provided by the wayfinder project gives player the next level of upgrade #that being the one with the additional gold detailing and the sun shaped tip #i think that's a REALLY cool choice to show not only how much player's become a formidable fighter #but that it makes their darkness ploy REALLY ironic when they're wielding a weapon with the most light-associated insignia #or under a similar reading; that their weapon betrays how they're actually fighting for the side of light (or even!#that it's not the light they're fighting for; it's skuld and ephemer. and they'll align themselves with darkness #if it means they both make it out alive)#it's such a self-serving choice that i adore to bits!

i just. hit s+ rank in splatoon and i never honestly thought this would happen?? am i cool now.. do i get to be a part of the s4? do i get to be watered down to my running joke all the time?

#the last part is a joke but i do not see a whole lot of recognition of the s4 being. the s4 #like yeah they were cool formidable foes in the s1 era and skull even beat goggles despite his plot armor #but now theyre just #there??#dont get me wrong i love their existence but #it feels like theyve been watered down at least a bit #skull is always just getting lost and army is almost always either the manual guy or the curry guy #thats. thats it thats their bits #skull also has the sweets thing #rider is sometimes a considerable foe too but at the same time the s4 doesnt usually consist of him so im not sure how much to count him #that being said it is a kids manga so i dont really expect it to lean too far into the formidable foes thing #even the xblood werent that scary in the long run and ended up goofy despite being who they were #i also get it in terms of fandom #i understand the appeal of something like aloha being cutesy dumb pink guy (who maaaaaaybe commited some crimes and it shows)#i also definitely understand the appeal of army having a thing for curry as well as the manuals #the manuals can be an endearing thing to write about trust me #but i also wouldnt mind seeing more things that center around the likes of the s4 and the xblood and even the best8 being the absolute best #of the best during their prime #reminder that s+ was the highest rank around when the s4 were introduced. same with the xblood #they were the strongest players and id like to see things that center around that #id like to imagine that moving on to the square and splatsville that the s4 would have had a chance to move uo and get into xbattles #i think of all of them skull and army would have the highest chances of actually making it to xrank and being successful #but honestly if mask and aloha could probably make it pretty well too if they got off their asses #and i think rider would excel as well being rider #he has his own kind of near plot armour i think #so do most of the big teams in my opinion #theyre the sort of doomed by the plot that forces them to battle goggles at some point lmao #maybe i could use this in a fic or au one day #maybe someone already has...#(please send to me if you know of any creators who have played around with these vague ideas of strength i wanna see em)

ngl people on tiktok and twitter made it sound like mavuika hit capitano with a hundred consecutive black flashes and killed him on spot when in reality the fight showed us that they're both super strong and capitano had to flee because he can't just easily drop kick a 6'0 woman who became the pyro archon BECAUSE of her strength and capability and take her gnosis like signora did with venti, especially after mavuika sucker punched him in the chest like that

'synthesizing music on a computer is almost as formidable as making a computer talk' how far we have come.....#i play with MIDI like its nothing but its been just over 60 years since that. iirc the first real synth came about in the 50s.#thats if you don't count the theremin as a synth.#theres also the vocoder from 1939 which i forgot abt until now but thats also early synthesis. and probably many others i've forgotten.#im really obsessed with computers and this class really fed into my love of computer history by showing me new things i was unfamiliar with #.txt #also. yes this is bc of hal. i'll admit it.
